Jay is who he is. He is a fairly constant guy, because he knows who he is and is at peace with it. Because of this though he tends to be set in his ways and is very slow to change his ways. He doesnβt like having to wait and play things out, instead relying solely on gut instincts and first impressions. Then once he ash has made his mind up about something, he rarely changes his mind. When he was young he decided he didnβt like chocolate. And to this day he has not touched a bit of chocolate, trusting his younger selfβs opinion. Jay likes being alone and hence has learnt to trust himself. He trust his feelings and thoughts, hence he rarely sees the needs for outside opinions and thoughts. Jay is a very inwardly focussed guy. He doesnβt really allow any else to sway his opinions.
Jay is very impatient. He hates anything that he feels wastes his time. Which generally results in him being easily frustrated and annoyed. Even little things can put him in a bad mood sometimes because he is so impatient and intolerant. He despises fake pleasantries, and can often times be quite blunt and come of harsh, because he refuses to be a fake version of himself around other people. He wonβt act friendly because it is the polite thing to do. He finds pretending to like people that doesnβt a complete waste of effort. He wonβt bother to hide his feelings on things ever. Hence he biggest pet peeve is people pleasers, he just feels the world should be much more genuine with each other and everyone would be better off for it, not having to bother faking it all the time. Jay is actually naturally a pretty good socialiser, despite never actually trying though, he can keep conversation and usually offers a fresh point of view. When Jay does actually try in social situations, he has a pretty magnetising persona.
Jay is very non-commital. He is what his aunt calls a βwandererβ. No place will ever be his home and nobody has even been able to tie him down. If he has to stay in one place for too long he gets restless, feeling like he needs change. He needs freedom, the freedom to just take off immediately and go anywhere, no responsibilities to worry about. He also hates being couped up, which is why he hates to city. He hates the hustle and bustle, and small spaces. Being outdoors, on large blocks of land, and going on long walks through woodlands is what Jay is made for. He enjoys his own company, and is completely at peace on his own. He could spend the rest of his life in solitude and it wouldnβt bother him, he likes being alone and being able to hear his own thoughts. He only needs himself.

Jayβs mother was a wanderer. When she had Jay, she thought sheβd be able to settle down, do the family thing, but she couldnβt. She left her baby, Jay, on her sisterβs doorstep and took off on another adventure. Thatβs how Jay ended up being raised by his aunt Mags, his pseudo-mother. Though he mother was always dropping in on him, giving her present from wherever she had been. Jay knew she loved him in her own way, but that she could never give up her live as a wanderer.
Jayβs aunt Mags is a potterer/musician/artist/dog-walker/whatever-paid-the-bills. She was arty and loved all pursuits of the arts, though itβs no secret pottery is her favourite. Unfortunately art didnβt pay as well as she thought it ought to, so she did what she could to pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads. She taught Jay everything she knew, and loving moulded him into the artist he is today. He learnt to play the guitar, to sculpt, to paint, but his favourite art form was always photography. Which is the one thing he stuck with.
Growing up and leaving school, he got on, and tried to make it work with his photography, doing more study and such. Though learning from Mags, he did whatever part-time job he needed to pay the bills. Just like his mother, the moment he could, he took off, travelling around here and there, scraping enough money together to make it around. He got photography jobs here and there. Eventually he started getting a little status in the photography world, and more jobs. To the point that now he can fully support himself on his photography, and pretty well at that. However, itβs not the type of photography he wants to do. He does very commercial, cookie-cutter stuff, minor photography in the fashion world. He wants his work to hang in galleries, not be advertisement in small time magazines.
His most recent job he has been contracted for has brought him to the city only an hour away from his hometown, a place he hates that is zapping him off all his creative juices. Hopefully he doesnβt have to be here long.
