| History |
Beldur spent the first fifteen years with the dalish, he was happy and frinedly and when his magic started to appear he was even happier becoming adept at magic quickly learning the ancient magic of shapeshifting which as is the dalish way is given freely to all first's. his will at resisting the beyond and its monsters was amazing and he excelled in his enviroment his magic more focued on using nature, rocks, earth and evern bending the trees themselves to his will likse most dalish magics.

but as the dales often say: it didnt last.
When exploring an unexplored grove in the forests with his little sister he was set upon by templars and seized, but not without fighting visciously and just long enough for his sister to escape, when she was safe he submitted to them and was taken to the circle, there he spent three long years in the circle tower given the harrowing instantly and was imeediately isolated from most of the mages and some templars because of his now cold and hostile nature, he made a circle of friends among the elven mages and apprentices there, most never seeing a dalish elf, on the third year they helped Beldur escape by finding a secure spot near the base of the tower near the stone port that drops off mages and templars, using his pwoer as a dalish elf he raised the port and used it to make a hole in the tower jsut big enough for him to squeeze through but he didnt go un noticed, stealing a boat he fled into the wilderness the templars forever chasing him.

Weeks wnet on of this when finally he ran into grey wardens, at first he was hostile like a beast trapped in a corner but after noticing their uniforms he became calm if wary, when the templars caught up they were told that Beldur was to be recruited into the grey wardens by the right of conscription. the angry templars left and beldur traveled with the wardens for the next five years showing his prowess at killing darkspawn his mood rarely changed untill another dalish joined them and they became close friends, when it was time beldur left the grey wardens after suceeding his task and traveled back to the forests, he waited a year untill his family returned and his nine year kidnapping had been finally over, he returned as the keepers first and while he seemed like his old self his family knew that he had changed, the dark grip of hatred clutched him and they were upset at his silent suffering, beldur wept when news of his fathers suicide caught him, he was apprantly the only child his father wanted, while happy with the twins that arrived ten eyars later but beldur was the favourate it would seem, beldur wept and in a broken state molded the trees into a memorial for him before getting on with the now happier times with his return to the dalish

| Lyrics |
[In time bleeding wounds will heal
Unlike some which are too deep to see
Like scars in a nomad's soul
Their mending is so slow

Not the shout of a hundred enemies
Can make him feel fear inside him
But when sun sets and the cold arrives
With crushing solitude in the darkness of night

He will ride across land and time
To find a way through this endless night
There's a storm in his heart and the fire burns his soul
But the wanderer's part is to ride alone

With bare hands he has taken many lives
He's had a hundred women by his side
From enchanted woods through the freezing north
He's known on every sea and far beyond

As the moon grows and the circle is complete
He lies down and waits for sleep
But there's always a scenery in his mind
Of all the beauty he once left behind

He will ride across land and time
To find a way through this endless night
There's a storm in his heart and the fire burns his soul
But the wanderer's part is to ride alone ]

So begins...

The boat ride was long Beldur thought nearly a week untill the seiged city of kirkwall was seen, he was in a small rowing boat and dodging the qunari dreadnoughts was easy well....easy in comparisson to fighting the blight beldur didnt kill the arch demon but he fought it, the fight didnt last long though. but that was another time, another era.

he wound up on the wounded coast and he went into hiding, there was alot of rock here and so he traveled through the stones to the halfway point to sundermount and he was exausted. he had to go around the city obviously as he would have very little impact alone "i just hope the clan is still in the mountain" he thought worriedly to himself, he saw a few humans wandering the sands and thought it best to avoid them...killing them would be easier and alot more satisfying but he used to be a grey warden and the urge to defend these people these...shemlen had rubbed off on him somewhat from the other wardens. the worse "gift" they gave him aside from the taint after a days rest he continued on his way up to sunder mount the only trace people could notice was a quiet grinding of rock on rock and perhaps a short blur out of the corner of their eyes and before long he had reached sundermount.

"home!" he sighed happily as then the elves rushed to him some shaking his hand, some embracing him and others kisses his cheek, in terms of dalish law he had died, anyone who leaves the clan "dies" in the eyes of the clan a sad moment but he has come back from the dead still wearing the robes he used as his first having rejected the uniform of the wardens as soon as he was free from them. "i have spent 10 years finding you all, i spent a year with another clan in ferelden while they looked to see where you went, im home now and ill try not to leave....where is my family?"

As if it summoned them his twin younger siblings ran into him holding him tight while her mother cried with joy, their son had returned but oddly enough his father was missing, he remembered his dads end and had almost forgotten, it was so strange seeing them without him. he embraced his mother and went to the keeper "i am willing to return as your first if the clan would have me keeper marethari" a quick and welcoming embrace was his answer and he went to bed, exausted and tired but also excited to be home again, he would help protect the clan against these alien invaders not knowing what they were called, it would be another adventure in his life, but with the dalish around again it will be a happier one

((there is his little origin story feel free to meet up with beldur or somehow lure him out so he can speak to others, looking forward to it ))

Location: Dalish camp-sundermount

beldur awoke the next day and stretched leaving the aravel which held his family and a few others and got something to eathis hair flowing freely about his shoulder now thrown over one to be out of the way while he ate a quiet meal of meat, bread and cheese as the morning rose, the news he got about the alien creatures taking voer kirkwall was troubling and so he ventured out to the outskirts of kirkwall to start exploring his enw home for the time being and looking for any signs of qunari camps nearby seeing a few animals avoiding them but some hostile spiders attacked him and so he regretfully had to attack them.

the spiders here were dis ordered, their atacks having no rhyme or reason some would shoot web which Beldur deflected with his staff while others bite him which caused him to jump back, he would have injured already if they timed their attacks, its clear they fled the nest and didnt know what to do about him, he sent a spirit bolt to one of them stunning and leaving a cut on its egs, a stonefist to another which knocked it down and a bolt from his staff, small flashes of green fled from the staff to hurt the last spider, a mixture of rock shards and splinters digging into the back of the spider their moral dropped they fled after beldur sent a rock bolt at the first one he cut which killed it and the other 2 fled to recover from their wounds. with a quick breather while he removed the webbing from his staff he continued his exploration into the wilds unknowing of what may lay near.

(( he might be able to be seen by kael out on his patrol to get some RP going but its up to him))

Kael

Kael sighed and eased a knot out of his shoulders as the elf rambled on. He had no idea what the big Kossith had mumbled, and even less of an understanding of what the elf replied back to him. What he gathered afterward was what interested Kael. A place where Templars were 'civilized', mages were part of the political structure, and diplomatic relations with the Qunari? He only knew of one place like that. Tevinter.

There wasn't a whole lot Kael remembered about his lessons on Tevinter from growing up, but it was becoming a bit clear that the elf wasn't looking for a fight here. And any help they could get would be more than welcome. "Fine," he said to the elf, "just try and stay out of trouble. Everyone's on edge and things could get out of hand." Kael moved from his spot on the path to head off back on his way around the camp before turning back to the men, "I'm Kael by the way. If you need anything, just come find me."

After leaving the elf and the Kossith to their own devices, Kael continued on his round about the outskirts of the camp, branching further out as the paths became more scarce. He climbed a rugged outcrop as he came upon it to get a better view of the area. Once he finally reached the top, he peered over the side to catch a flash of light a little ways off. He waited for a moment and another flash came from the same direction. Hurrying over in the direction it had come from, Kael soon came upon a man cleaning debris from a wooden staff. As Kael made his way closer, he noticed the parts and bodies of the dead spiders all around the man. Some looked to be crushes, others were singed, and a few were just....dead. From the small distance, the man looked to be another elf, but something out of the corner of his eye caused Kael's vision to leave the man.

Approaching from behind the elf, a spider crept up through the brush, making its way atop another rock. Kael Threw his parrying dagger as best he could before running up and unsheathing his longsword. The parrying dagger wasn't typically a thrown weapon, but still managed to bite into the spider and stun it for a moment. It was just enough as Kael planted and swung his blade in a dangerous upward arc that sheared off bits of the spider's front legs and a good portion of its head as well.

After retrieving his dagger, Kael turned toward the man once more. "Another elf, huh? And from the looks of these spiders, another mage as well? Are you with the Tevinter mage?"

Beldur had finally gotten rid of the webbing muttering about how surprisingly difficult it was, his long ears twitched as he heard rushed feet he stood and swirled his staff in a circle to a more comfortable position ready to fight, his eyes were searching the rocks untill he saw Kael running at him. Kael was a human, only a few inches taller than himself and very dark in comparison to his pale skin, his eyes went cold and hard and his mouth set into a scowl, which turned into a snarl when kael threw the dagger at him. he ducked out the way before noticing the spider, it took only a second to notice that the dagger was clearly not thrown at him but at the spider, he sprung from one foot to the other out the way as kael advanced on the stunned creature and frowned watching kael deal a devastating strike to the spider.

as the man stooped to retrieve his dagger and clean his sword Beldur still kept on his guard as if waiting for Kael to draw his sword against him, his posture was still hostile but his brow raised when he spoke in a conversational tone. "Another elf, huh? And from the looks of these spiders, another mage as well? Are you with the Tevinter mage?"

"i am a mage yes, and not with anyone of Tevinter shemlen, who are you and what do you want? be warned you are nearing Dalish territory and i will keep my people safe from you and from those creatures in the shem city"

Kael

"i am a mage yes, and not with anyone of Tevinter shemlen, who are you and what do you want? be warned you are nearing Dalish territory and i will keep my people safe from you and from those creatures in the shem city."

Shemlen? Kael thought. He knew a little about the Dalish Elves, but hadn't had a whole lot of experience dealing with them up to this point. He knew the word though, and it wasn't exactly a term of respect. More of an insult than anything when directed from an elf to a human. A great way to start a conversation...

Letting out a sigh and rolling his eyes, Kael allowed the longsword glide easily back into its' scabbard as he turned back to the elf. "My mistake I guess. There was a an elven mage I passed a little while ago and....nevermind." There was no point in explaining himself to the elf. If he truly was with the Dalish, nothing Kael could say would actually reconcile the situation anyway. If he was talking to a Keeper, maybe, but he... All Dalish Keepers posses the ability of magic...

"My name's Kael and it seems like we're both out doing the same thing, I didn't mean any harm to you or your people. I was out patrolling the land when your little magic show caught my eye. You aren't by any chance a Dalish Keeper are you?"

Beldur's bright yellow eyes followed Kael's sword like a hawk watching a mouse, his hostile posture unflinching as the sword moved into its sheath, his hostile posture not moving an inch Beldur watched while he sighed and rolled his eyes....it meant something but Beldur couldn't remember what "it doesn't really matter though" he thought to himself as he went back to study Kael intently now that Beldur was his main focus again.

"My mistake I guess. There was a an elven mage I passed a little while ago and....nevermind." that made him think....a tevinter one of the lost? a magister who uses slaves and demons? this could be dangerous, he could open a veil to the beyond and in the clan only Beldur and the keeper have magic at their command, but the keeper -from what Beldur knew- couldnt cast an offensive spell to safe her life, she would be healing injuries leaving Beldur to fight most of them so he calculated....he began to frown as the human Kael said this.

"My name's Kael and it seems like we're both out doing the same thing, I didn't mean any harm to you or your people. I was out patrolling the land when your little magic show caught my eye. You aren't by any chance a Dalish Keeper are you?" beldur didnt believe the whole "i dont want to hurt your people" he had experience where he fell for that before and paid dearly for it and some of the hunters did aswell, "there are two kinds of shemlen that can be trusted, a dead one and a grey warden....but they are also dead in the eyes of the clan. though he did frown a bit when his magic caught Kaels eye "i thought i was discreet"

"i am not a Keeper yet i have returned to the clan as marithari's first after my kidnapping and service to the grey wardens. but i have no small amount of power and i know the old ways, why? what do you wish to know?"

Kael

He couldn't help the involuntary sigh that escaped his mouth when the mage mumbled about dead one and Grey Wardens being the only trustworthy humans. It wasn't true at all, but then again, it was far off either. Kael was too tired at the moment for a witty comeback, but the humor may have been lost on this man anyway. Though, his interest was peaked as the man began to speak again.

"i am not a Keeper yet i have returned to the clan as marithari's first after my kidnapping and service to the grey wardens. but i have no small amount of power and i know the old ways, why? what do you wish to know?"

Kidnapping and service...? Kael thought. What service had he done for the Grey Wardens? Was he at Ostagar too? Doubtful, but the questions nagged at Kael and would continue to until he asked them. He decided he might as well, perhaps he'd even find out something useful from this man.

"I was almost a Grey Warden," he began, "back in Ferelden. A man named Duncan offered me a chance to become one before the battle of Ostagar. I turned him down because I was needed on the frontlines beside my commanding officer." He paused to see if the man was even reacting to Kael's story. The look the man gave him didn't reveal much. But if this man had been at Ostagar, he would have most likely been close to the Grey Warden's position on the field, and was likely to know the other mages as well. Shrugging, Kael continued on. "I don't know what you're affiliation with the Wardens was, but there was a woman at Ostagar. A mage. She had brown hair and bright blue eyes." He tugged Silver's chain from under his armor to show to the man. "She wore this as well. Is there, by any chance, you knew her?"

Beldur was confused at this sudden intrest of his history with the wardens, but all became clear "I was almost a Grey Warden," this interested beldur more than it should have, if the grey wardens were considering him then he must be one of the very few who could be trusted, beldur kept his defences up but his eyes soften ever so slightly, he looked to the amulet he held out as he asked yet another question "I don't know what you're affiliation with the Wardens was, but there was a woman at Ostagar. A mage. She had brown hair and bright blue eyes. She wore this as well. Is there, by any chance, you knew her?"

he cast his memory back to his days as a warden, while he was at ostagar he wasnt there during the time this Kael expected him to have been there, he was recruited during the blight and wasnt a warden for ostargar he was recruited near the end of the blight joining in the battle against the archdemon, while not fighting the arch demon himself he fended off a horde of darkspawn to allow the hero of ferelden, a warden he never saw kill the archdemon, there was too much confusion there and he had only focused on killed the vast horde infront of him untill the archdemon died and survival.

his eyes continued to gloss over as he searched through his memories, he didnt recall this woman Kael mentioned. his main duty with the wardens after the blight was to help slay the raiding parties that refused to go underground after the blight happened. after sifting through his memories he focused once mroe on Kael and shook his head

"i was a warden, i suppose i still am a warden but i dont work with or for them anymore, and no i dont recall your lady friend, assuming shes human there were alot of shemlen during the blight and as your aware i dont care much for your kind, if you were chosen to be a grey warden then you could be one of the few i could trust in time. so i will be honest, if i saw her i didnt take notice, during my service as a warden i kept to myself and myself alone, the human wardens wouldnt go near me for they understood my hatred for them." after a moment in the grip of sudden empathy of having a loved one torn away from them he cleared his throat and spoke once more "who was she? kin? or a lover? either way i understand and...for what tis worth im sorry, but i doubt it means much."

he took a look around his eyes glossing over again in a silent prayer for his father, he looked back to Kael "your people were driven from the shemlen city? i would need to speak to the keeper but i could lend aid if you tell your shemlen to stay away from me, if the keeper allows it i would stretch the arm of the dalish and help defend you. of course you would probably need to do something for the clan, will you accept?"

Kael

Kael was a bit disappointed that this man didn't know Silver. It didn't really surprise him, but disappointing nonetheless. He really didn't know what to say of what she was to him at the man's inquiring. She was just some woman who saved me instead of herself. But don't worry, I killed her to stop the pain then took this from her... He mentally scolded himself for the ridiculous thought. Silver's death was nothing to joke about, even if it was just to himself...."No," he finally said, "I didn't really know her. She saved my life at Ostagar and got me away. I just thought...."

To be honest, Kael had no clue what he thought. Maybe he just wanted a name to the face, instead of the one he gave her. It mattered to him, but didn't hold any relevance at the moment. "Nevermind," he gently tucked the silver chain back underneath his light armor. "But any help you could offer us would be appreciated. I can't exactly speak for anyone else, but I'll need to know what you need from me before I accept. I'm not overly fond of accepting blind offers."

"But any help you could offer us would be appreciated. I can't exactly speak for anyone else, but I'll need to know what you need from me before I accept. I'm not overly fond of accepting blind offers."

beldur frowned abit but he nodded, he was expecting this man to be grateful and helpful but he was wrong, it didnt matter as beldur wasnt really expecting much. "there is a large group of the lost...elves, in that city, in your alienages it would be beneficial to both the clan and your chances of our aid if you could tell of a way into the city so we could rescue them it would be appreciated, the elves there as ive heard dont believe we Dalish exist, i aim to prove them wrong."

he doubted Kael would agree in strengthening the clan, he expected the human to rather struggle alone than ever help the dalish and so he awaited his reply thinking about the possibly slight chance of him agreeing. "if we are to help you you will need to keep all your people in line and in check"
