Setting
Quickly she took off into the air, already attatching her scouter to the side of her face, the crimson visor stretching over to poke her nose. Emerald eyes were dead set on the launch site for the Saiyin pods. It had only been three minuets since she got the call, a mission to a place called 'Planet Melt'. She didn't get the full details, just the breif 'Panet's under attack, go kick some ass' from the higher ups.
Truthally she was excited to finally get back into combat again, all these times of inactivity were starting to make her a bit ansy. It would do her good to get back into the groove of witnessing her own blood on the floor after some fool gets a lucky shot. Though the one thing she found herself dread was who she was going with, so far all of her other missions had her going with mismatched partners that just, in her words, get in her way. Like, it wasn't HER fault that she accidentally broke that other Saiyin's arm, he was getting in the way of her attack.
She just hoped her latest partner wasn't annoying, just as long as her partner didn't pester her about her skin...
Pikruel stepped out of her shower, holding a towel that was wrapped around her torso. Her scouter was beeping from its place beside her bed. When she heard it, she quickly leaped over to grab it.
"Looks like I've got a message on my Tuffle machine. I wonder if it's about my next mission."
Attaching it to her head, she tapped the button on her ear to display the text of her message. It read, "Pikruel, you have been assigned to defend Planet Melt from invaders. Your enemies reportedly represent Emperor Heeta. Fortunately, Heeta does not appear to be with them, so a small team should be enough to drive them off. The coordinates have already been sent to your pod. Good luck. --HQ."
As soon as she read the word "assigned" Pikruel was already out the door, running as fast as she could to get to the pod bay.
"Alright! A new assignment! I hope these guys are tougher than the guys than the ones from last time. Those guys were too easy."
She stopped suddenly when she noticed the people around her giving her weird looks.
"Uhh... Maybe I should get dressed first. Heh heh..."
After returning home, Pikruel put on her dark purple and green fighting gi and rushed to her space pod. Soon she was on her way, flying through space in her white orb.
"Attention. You are flying an unidentified spacecraft into a restricted zone. Saiyans and Saiyan allies only. Identify yourself immediately. Repeat. Identify yourself immediately or you will be shot down."
''-Saiyans and Saiyan allies only. Identify yourself immediately. Repeat. Identify yourself immediately or you will be shot down." Her ears perked up in amazement at the sudden voice, asking for her name. Quickly, she replied.
"Oh! HELLO! I'm Kazaam, what's your name?" She practically yelled into the microphone
Space ships could be seen approaching, breaching the atmosphere of the planet.
"Wuh? What? What is it?"
"Kazaam," said the voice from the transmission, "we've detected that your ship's autopilot is set to land here. Turn off the autopilot now, or we will open fire. You have ten seconds to stop and turn around before I give the order."
Overall Dashade strode to avoid everyone else on the ship until necessary confrontations with any of them, he did not seek a repeat of catching Pikruel screaming be- That embarrassing and insignificant event that he has erased from his mind entirely and will never mention again.
For now the Arcosian shook his head, beads of sweat being launched off the tip of his horns and into the air around him. In his time dedicated to training, he had set himself the goal of creating a new powerful technique. Unfortunately, this technique so far had proven to be a difficult one to pull off. "Alright... Time to try again"
Calmly, he inhaled deeply and slid his right foot back behind his left. Exhaling, he made sure to keep his posture straight and loose, it was vital for the move to work, he had to allow his energy to move through his body. The Arcosian's hand came to his left wrist with two fingers, travelling down his arm towards his shoulder. His mind wondered back to when he was bed ridden back on Melt, the elderly man placing strange fruit on his body that sent electricity through his veins.
At this thought Dashade was overtaken by a similar feeling to back then, a sharp wave of pain spreading throughout his body, dead set on pushing up to his arm. This time Dashade could handle the pain, it soon materialising as a spark of green electricity that stabbed at his extended fingers. The left foot pushed on forward and the right foot followed, the two fingers dragged the energy in an arc under his chest, heading towards the opposite side. "Fulll...Powered..E-"
"HEY, GUYS! THERE'S A MEAN SPACESHIP GUY SAYING HE' GONNA SHOOT US BECAUSE HE'S A JERK!"
Kazaam's yell broke Dashade from his concentration, his elbow instinctively constricting with surprise. This was a huge mistake that threw his whole attack off balance, the electricity that he had been directing now lashed out at him, his body now feeling the pain of mis-directed shock throughout his entire body; forcing Dashade to his knees as he cried out in pain. "DAMN IT!"
That vision too melted away, replace by the familiar baritone of the Grand elder's voice echoing in his mind. " Taao my son, it does my old heart good to feel your mind touch my own, your brothers will be elated to know you yet live. "
" Great Elder forgive me, I know abandoning you and my duties was a vile thing t- " his thought was interrupted by the sound of laughter, then Elder spoke in his mind again.
" Nonsense! I understand why you left Taao, you are a fine young man and I have faith in the path you choose to walk. I have glimpsed into your heart just as you have mine, so I know you're not calling just to check up on an old namek like me? "
Taao found comfort in the wisdom of the Grand Elder, as usual he could read him and his intentions like a book, and Taao was quite sure the wise elder knew what he was seeking the moment their minds touched. Yet in his great wisdom, he made no presumptions still, choosing to give Taao the opportunity to explain himself properly. So Taao set about explaining his experiences since his exodus and leading up slowly but surly to his encounter with Heeta's army. He concluded by explaining the latent power he felt within himself and the couple of his comrades, and bringing out those powers he believed could be the difference in life or death for the entire universe.
" Take this my son " In his mind's eye Taao could see him smile, and he could almost feel the elder namek place his large hand on his forehead in response. A moment passed where nothing happened, and then the next thing he knew he was back on ship, confused and unsure of exactly what the Elder had done to him. At the same time Kazaam's voice reached his ears.
"HEY, GUYS! THERE'S A MEAN SPACESHIP GUY SAYING HE' GONNA SHOOT US BECAUSE HE'S A JERK!"
More confused than ever and more than a little annoyed that his time with the Grand Elder had been cut short somehow, little did he know a whole week had passed and they had reached their destination. Taao jumped to his feet and ran down the hall to meet the others in the cockpit
Pikruel followed close behind Nion and Taao, still wrapped in her bed sheets.
"HEY, GUYS! THERE'S A MEAN SPACESHIP GUY SAYING HE' GONNA SHOOT US BECAUSE HE'S A JERK!"
"An enemy spaceship?"
Picking up her pace, Pikruel hurried to the cockpit to see what was going on.
"Four, three..." the voice continued.
Taking a look at the approaching spaceships, Pikruel gasped. "Those are Saiyan battleships! Why are they attacking us? What did you do?"
"Two, one."
The Saiyan spaceships opened fire, but the ship's shields prevented any real damage. The shot shook the ship like it was in the middle of an earthquake.
"Hey, we're on the same side, you jackasses! Stop firing on us now before we come over there and dismantle your weapons personally! And by us, I mean Dashade, because he's the only one here who can breathe in space. Geez, ew come back from saving Planet Melt and this is our welcomming party?"
He gave the girl a warning glare before turning his head towards Pikruel. Judging by her odd attire of bed covers, Dashade could guess that she had only recently woken up to the disaster, he hoped that she was at least awake enough to think straight. "Pikruel, you're with them, correct? And you have a... better way with words then that of Nion. Anything you can do?" Really, neither were actually that good at communication, but Pikruel didn't seem like she was about to start verbally abusing the man on the other end.
"Kazaam, I know it was probably an accident... But keep that mouth of yours closed for the duration of this event" Dashade warned her, followed up with a stare that took the phrase 'If looks could kill' to a whole other level. Forcing Kazaam's mouth shut.
Nion received no response from the man on the other end. It seemed he was done talking.
"Pikruel, you're with them, correct? And you have a... better way with words then that of Nion. Anything you can do?"
At the suggestion of Dashade, Pikruel inserted herself between Nion and the control panel.
"Excuse me..." Pikruel could see the battleships circling around for another attack. Not knowing how much more abuse the ship could take made it very difficult for her to stay calm. "Hey! Hold your fire! This is Pikruel! I'm a Saiyan!"
"Pikruel?" the man replied. "Let me see... Yes, it says you were stationed at Melt, like your friend said. Our records show that your pod arrived a few hours earlier."
"Yes. We sent them back on autopilot so we could take this ship instead. Now please, tell them to stop!"
"Hold your fire!"
Just as he was giving the order, the battleships were already unleashing their second wave. An explosion from the rear of the ship followed.
"What was that?" Pikruel asked nervously.
An explosion cut off Dashade's thought process from the back of the ship. "I think something just exploded... Was it something important?" He asked nervously.
When the explosion from the abck of the ship errupted Nion had her hands against the wall in an attempt to steady herself beside Taao. "Uh... Aayone here know anything about engineering?"
At that he moved as quickly as the shaking would allow him to exit the cockpit, it was still a rather large ship so they surely couldn't have done too much damage in two shots. At least that's what he hoped. As long as the engines remain undamaged they had a good chance at getting through this misunderstanding with their lives.
"Dashade, come with me! We can't just stand here, someone has to assess the damage, and you guys convince them to send us some help if they're really on your side, if it comes to t maybe there is a chance the kid can get us to the planet in one piece ."
Dashade's hand thankfully withdrew as the Arcosian warrior proceeded to follow Taao out of the room, Kazaam cheerfully calling after them. "Don't worry! I've plenty of experience in crashing ships!"
" I don't know what an engineer is but it can't be too hard to find, the ship's just a big circle, if we just keep going we'll know when we get there "
Taao knew little to nothing about machines, but he understood something very simply. Explosions on space ships where bad, very bad, and they didn't come this far to be blown away by their supposed allies.
" I don't know much about this machine, but it never looked like the kind of thing that couldn't take a beating. Hopefully we're only dealing with minor damage, but you should be accustomed to this kind of thing right? You've been on more ships than me at the very least "
The further they went began to notice an increase in temperature, and the air began to taste of smoke.
"I don't know much about this machine, but it never looked like the kind of thing that couldn't take a beating. Hopefully we're only dealing with minor damage, but you should be accustomed to this kind of thing right? You've been on more ships than me at the very least"
"I've spent most of my career on ships, yes. But I was only given a basic understanding of all the parts that went into it" True, spending all that time with fellow soldiers taught him a few things, but usually any problems with the ship were left to the ship's personal engineers. "Though with that knowledge I can say that whatever was hit doesn't seem too important. If it was the engines the ship wouldn't be so loud, and if there were any breeches the ship should of told us that the shields were being raised. THough that could change quite quickly..."
