▋▋▋▋ PERSONAL INFORMATION

L'appel du vide - The call of the void, that urge one gets to jump when on a high ledge, that perverse desire one gets when they throw all caution to the wind and say 'why not?'. Séraphin embraces this call, in fact one might even call it a credo of his. With a reckless abandon that makes it a wonder he's even alive, Séraphin likes to act first and think second. It's not that he's overtly displeased with life or doesn't care if he dies, he more so just enjoys the call of adventure too much to notice the risks. In fact, he's enjoyed every day he's lived so far.

Born and raised on the Isle of Berk, Séraphin is acquainted with most families that inhabit the island, and his grandfather owns and runs a mine out of Badmist Mountain. It was deep within these mines that a young dragon was discovered, by a boy rather young himself. Despite what you're thinking, this boy wasn't Séraphin, no. It was his younger brother, Valentinianus. Taken and brought to Séraphin, Romulus was passed into his ownership under guise of a gift.

Sixteen at the time of receiving Romulus, the two have been together for four years and have been inseparable since. Those four years they've been working the mines for his grandfather, the two utilizing Romulus' s ability to dig. Romulus himself has a rough demeanor and outward appearance, but on the inside he's a big ol' butterball. As eager to get into shenanigans as his owner is, Romulus seems to keep a more level head and air of intelligence about him.

Séraphin is very considerate of his dragon's feelings, though ultimately Romulus would follow any command that Séraphin gave him, regardless of consequence. While Séraphin knows that Romulus is this obedient, he considers the dragon a friend and would never abuse his trust and willingness to obey.

So begins...

It's been nearing three weeks since they last saw Ayesha. It was more than enough confirmation for Berk Dragon Academy's students that she was missing, and not just busy as the general public had been lead to believe. They also knew, however, that spreading that information may raise tensions even higher, so most chose to continue their life as normal.

Well, most. A rather enthusiastic individual made the decision to search for her himself. Séraphin wasn't exactly the best student in terms of performance, but he had a lot of heart and energy. But it was an endeavour that wouldn't be best done alone. An extra pair of eyes wouldn't hurt. Well, he did have his dragon, but he was thinking less reptilian companions. Like actual humans. He might wind up in Dan if left to his own devices, and Isolde was not going to volunteer rescuing him from their clutches.

Mitzi was an ideal candidate for a member, and through her, Isolde was dragged into the their small band. Finding the fourth member was proving a bit trickier, but eventually, they found it in Aurelius. He seemed interested. If anything, he could cover their backs as the teachers were rather partial to the blond.

With that, the Dragon Flight Club was born, borrowing the name of Hiccup's past troupe at Isolde's suggestion. A name like that was bound to bring some luck over to their side, right?

If yesterday was the day they finally named themselves, today would be their first official meeting. Official class time had finally ended in Berk, and students were free to do as they pleased on the island. The four chose their meeting place; atop the highest point in the island, underneath the shade of the Wryst tree. Now was the time they decide their next move.

Felon's Plague.

The words repeated over and over in Séraphin's head until they felt foreign, the negative connotation behind them eventually decaying in meaning. He supposed that lately, they were two words that every owner of dragon had on their mind, but this was his secret to not letting it gain power over him. Romulus was his best friend, and the last thing he wanted to contemplate about was the death of him.

He was the first to the Wryst tree, and although this didn't surprise him, he found himself slightly disappointed because he had wanted to be surprised. He made a silent vow to himself then, in the shadow of the tree, to get the others as excited as him so that one day he could be the second to arrive. Or, best case scenario, the last.

After the vow had been made, Séraphin stretched his arms toward the sky, holding them in that position for a moment before lowering his hands and clasping them together behind his head, elbows cocked out to the sides. He walked like this out of the shade of the tree into the sun, eyes squinting against and adjusting to the light as he looked out over Berk from the height of his location.

On a lower outcropping, Romulus lounged, idly gnawing away at a large boulder embedded in the earth. It amused Séraphin when he thought about how he had seen dogs go at it with bones in a similar way. Breathing a sigh of content, Séraphin dropped his arms and went back into the shade, choosing to sit cross-legged at the base of the tree as he waited for the others.

Mitzi might have been there sooner, but she had to go get Isolde. She practically dragged her friend with her to the meeting, grinning ear to ear in anticipation.

Most of Berk might have been content believing whatever they were told about Ayesha's disappearance, but Mitzi wasn't among them. She hated sitting on her hands and doing nothing, especially when it seemed like no one else was investigating what needed to be investigated. Besides, if it turned out that the alpha really was just out looking for a cure to Felon's Plague (which Mitzi didn't believe, but it was possible), then she was taking too long, and surely could use some help.

Of course, that didn't solve the problem of finding her in the first place. Mitzi would have gladly charged headfirst into the sky without a clue where to check first, just roaming and exploring until, with luck, she happened upon the alpha. It didn't take a genius to tell her that wasn't practical, though. Not to mention she'd tried that once already, and Baird refused to move for an hour. Hopefully, this meeting would drudge up some plans more likely to actually work.
"Hey, maybe we should invite Naev," Mitzi mused aloud. He was good at that stuff, logic and all.

Mitzi stretched her arms out over her head and let out a long, echoing cheer. Her thighs held strongly to Baird's sides as he soared through the air. She relished the feeling of wind in her hair and Baird's strong wings beside her. If they were to keep this secret meeting a secret, Mitzi wasn't the best addition.

Still, they soon landed at the highest point on Berk. Mitzi hopped off the dragon and hugged his neck, a move that lifted her feet off the ground, before she bounced off to the Wryst tree. Baird curled up for a nap in the sun while she sidled up to Séraphin with a grin.
"Didn't keep you waiting too long, did we?" she teased with one eye closed, and stuck her tongue out at him childishly.

"Mind if I join in?"

Mitzi yelped, jumping away from the voice. She bumped into the trunk of the tree with a quiet
"ow," before slowly peeking back around to see who'd joined them. "Hefring," she gasped, then squeaked pathetically and hid behind the tree. Having the Hefring and Fafnir on their side would definitely be a good thing, but Mitzi was a bit distracted by the general harshness and intimidation, and hadn't quite processed what Hefring had asked yet.

Isolde paced the length of her small home, debating whether or not to continue to the meeting. While she didn't hate Séraphin and the others, being comfortable around their presence was a different thing entirely. In fact, going to class was occasionally a struggle, though she enjoyed them far too much to skip them. Dragons were fascinating creatures and the wealth of knowledge this tiny island possessed would never cease to boggle her mind. She was all too thankful for that chance encounter that changed her life.

When Mitzi arrived to drag her to the meet, magenta eyes looked at her reluctantly before allowing herself to get dragged to the field just outside, where Josco and Baird waited. The pair stood out; one was dark as night, the other had the purity of snow. Being next to each other only amplified those traits. Isolde saddled her dragon with easy, practiced movements and then rode astride him, the Striker giving a little shake as greeting.

She just barely heard Mitzi's words over the roar of the wind. The girl responded, though she doubted the redhead heard. "I'd like it if he joined us." Truth be told, she wasn't certain just how far she could contain Séraphin and Mitzi together. Having a kindred spirit would be comforting, to say the least. She wasn't sure what to make of Aurelius; she could never quite get a handle of his actions and motives. In fact, Isolde didn't believe at first when he'd agreed to join their little group.

The trip was short and when they arrived by the Wryst tree, Hefring was nearby. This unfortunately escaped Mitzi's notice as she landed ahead of Isolde, who'd hesitated at seeing the newcomer. Still, when the other two women disembarked, she found herself eventually doing the same, steeling her nerves by stroking Josco's head once. Arriving late wouldn't do anyone good.

She caught the last the blonde's words as she arrived. Right after she did, Mitzi let out a yelp of pain and magenta eyes turned towards Mitzi in alarm. "Are you alright?" The sentence was lost as Mitzi hid behind the tree, alarmed by the presence of the woman.

Surprisingly, Isolde wasn't as distressed in her presence as most would expect. The woman reminded her a lot of the people from her village, so she was accustomed to the curt, no nonsense behavior. "Ah, I don't mind. I don't think anyone else does?" She looked towards Mitzi in particular. Her friend was intimidated by her, yes, but the pink-haired girl didn't think it was hate or anything near as extreme as that.

Aurelius didn’t know why he had agreed to join their little club, and quite frankly it irked him, but it was too late to go back on his word and so he would have to toughen up and face his own self-imposed disaster.

That was a new thought, actually.

Having just been excused from training he looked at Ianus thoughtfully and wondered if not going to the club because of his fussy dragon would be a valid excuse. It would of course, seeing as to how their meeting place on the highest point of the island and no mortal man could scale it without possibly dying; however, the look on his dragon’s face made him think otherwise.

He was doing it for his dragon, not out of love, but necessity and reminded him quite emphatically. Ianus could only roll its eyes and give out a huff of either despair or agreement - truly, Aurelius could not tell the difference.

With quick movements he pulled himself on top of its back and squeezed his legs together to signal he was ready to fly. It did so without a sound and caught him off guard even though he signaled he was ready. Most of the time Ianus would ready himself as well, but the anxiousness to meet the others was probably on his dragon’s mind and he couldn’t really blame him. They were trying to find Ayesha - a woman who could possibly save all the dragons - and he too would be anxious to do whatever he could in order to save him own life.

They landed by the Wryst tree in record time and already Aurelius could see the original three members along with a woman he’s sure he’s seen before, but could not put a name to. He knew most people on the Island of Berk, but only by face. Those whose names he remembers is solely because of redundancy or importance. Neither because he wants to.

Sliding off gracefully from his dragon he walked over to join the group and watched them as they interacted with one another. It was odd to see that none of them seemed perfectly at peace with one another despite Isolde and Mitzi being two of the closer friends. The air of discontentment didn’t bother him, in fact he felt more at home.

A voice brought him out of his musings and asked the question if anyone would mind the blonde stranger joining in.

“I’m fine with it,” he added in casually, “I think Séraphin would appreciate it actually.”

Of all the people at their meeting, only Séraphin was the closest to his age, and to whom he has spoken with before the club had even created. He did not know about the unknown female, but from what he could tell she might be a close third with her stern looking disposition and shy confidence.

“So, what do we do now?”

Mitzi's mind was running away with her behind that tree. This is it, she thought. We've been caught. We're in trouble. Oh, what cruel fate; we've been stopped before we even had a chance to start! Eventually, though, she was roused from her thoughts by the fact that the scene was continuing without her. She peered around the trunk of the tree cautiously, slowly taking in Aurelius and Isolde's responses, and in turn realizing what Hefring had actually asked in the first place. "Oh, wait. You want to join us? Awesome! We'll definitely find her with you on our team!"

Her cheers were cut short when she noticed some more dragons in the sky, headed straight for them. She scrambled up the tree to get a better look, hand shielding her eyes from the sun while she leaned far out. Yep, they were definitely headed to their meeting. It looked like the twins, aaand... well, someone else.
"So much for this being a super-secret meeting. Alright, what loudmouth told?" Despite the accusatory words, there was no malice in her tone. Somewhere in the background, Baird made a grumbling noise that clearing (at least to Mitzi) said You. You're the loudmouth. "Oh," she laughed, swinging back and forth from the one hand that held her to her perch on the tree's branch. "In that case, the more the merrier!" Hey, hold on, was that a Typhoomerang? Definitely! No doubt about it, their other addition was Ingrid the Daydream. She laughed again, watching as the three neared.

“So, what do we do now?”

Mitzi turned her gaze groundward at Aurelius's words. "We decide where to start looking for Ayesha, right?" The girl swung in a wide circle around the tree branch, landing finally in a seated position on the branch below. Really, it was a miracle she didn't fall and break her neck. She kicked her legs as she sat, like the hyperactive kid she was, and looked down at Séraphin for leadership. "We've got members, now the Dragon Flight Club needs a game plan!" She pointed her index finger dramatically as she spoke, first holding it to her cheek then pointing in the general direction of the others on the ground. Her head quirked to the side as her thoughts returned to her earlier idea. "Naev really would be good for this part..." Her curious eyes returned to the nearing dragons as she contemplated this.

With the arrival of more members, Isolde fought the urge to flee. Pale fingers grew even whiter as she tore at a blade of grass. Just people, and Dragon Academy students too. There was nothing to fear. If there was something she had to be afraid of, it would be their next set of activities. Which was, unsurprisingly, still undecided. Most of those around her were the type to think first, ask questions later.

She brought out a map from her pocket, nervously clearing her throat as she tried to call everyone's attention. When eyes turned on her, her hands shook as she unfolded the map in the middle of them all. Picking up a red stone, using it to leave a circling mark on an island some ways west of Berk. "I overheard them say this was where they last saw Ayesha and Maw." Isolde mentally congratulated herself on her voice's steadiness, though she was anything but calm. Everyone's attention was fixed on her hand as she guided them through one of the possible paths they might take. She dropped the stone, using her finger to make a wavy path from Berk to the island, passing through a few named places on the way. "We could travel through these islands here; they're inhabited and we can ask questions."

Isolde once again found herself playing with her dress as she waited for their response. Magenta eyes looked to Mitzi for support, then towards the others who were taking a look at her map themselves. "This trip would take at least three days... but starting Friday we have off for a full two weeks. We could do it then?" The rest time was in celebration of some Berk event... Isolde still wasn't too familiar with their holidays as she never went back home during vacations. She continued to treat them as regular days; this would be her first time leaving the island of her own volition if they decided to go ahead. "We can stock up on supplies until then?"
