Personality

Ashur is a kind-hearted individual with good intentions. He is protective of those who cannot properly defend themselves. He refuses to give up, no matter the consequences and is a trustworthy and loyal friend. Ashur is mysterious, as his face is always hidden by his mirrored mask, yet some around Valdonia know him as the silent protector. Ashur has an ear for music and occasionally play his violin while flying over the city of Cadence.

Andreios is much less good-natured then Ashur. Andreios still greatly values the protection of the citizens of Valdonia, but is willing to sacrifice a few to save the many. His temper is short, and his anger is dangerous. He is erratic and instinctual in his actions. His is brash and arrogant, but brave and bold as well. Andreios is unsociable and avoids conversation where possible.

History

Ever since childhood, Ashur wished to become one of the knights flying around Valdonia, protecting its people. As soon as was possible, Ashur found himself a small dragon and trained at the academy for the recommended time. He took a place as a squire for a knight of Valdonia, but was unhappy that he could not be out fighting for Valdonia himself. One day, a dragon by the name of Authaurix began causing troubles around Valdonia. This dragon was different from others, it could not be reasoned with, nor did it have any reason for causing such a disturbance. The knights decided to try to capture the dragon, but it's peculiar abilities thwarted their attempt. They began planning a way to exterminate the dragon. Ashur cared for all beings, so he couldn't just allow this creature be ruthlessly exterminated. There had to be a reason for its madness, he thought.
Ashur set out on his dragon, donned in his subpar suit of armor, small iron sword, and dented shield. His dragon could barely support this extra weight and flew quite erratically. Ashur eventually found the dragon he was looking for, causing needless destruction around Valdonia. Ashur watched as it breathed a vicious black fog on an area. The effected region would then begin to act crazily. Air began to freeze ice, water began to float, and old materials melted. Ashur didn't quite know what to make of this. Something must be tormenting this beast for it to cause such damage, he thought. At this moment, one of the knights threw chains with a heavy, spike ball on either end at the dragons head. The chains wrapped around the dragons mouth, and the spike spheres pierced the dragon's face, holding tight. Another knight tossed a javelin tied to a chain at the dragon. Once the javelin connected with its target, the knight tied the chains to his dragon and held tight. Another javelin, then another, and yet another.

Eventually, the poor dragon was pinned by seven knights, thrashing around in a fit of rage, trying desperately to use its breath weapon to no avail. Ashur could not allow this to happen. He directed his dragon to dive towards the helpless creature and use its fire breath on the chains around the trapped dragon's mouth. The knights yelled at Ashur to back off after he flew by, but he redirected his dragon to loop back around and make a second dive at the same chains. Ashur lined up his blade and used the momentum of his dragon to bring his blade into brutal contact with the lightly melted chain. The collision caused the chain to break and Ashur to fly off of his now disoriented dragon. He landed at the feet of the large dragon. It was still very, very angry.

Having broken the chain around the dragon's mouth, it used its breath weapon on the surrounding chains. Some changed into wood, some caught fire, and other melted all together. Soon, enough chains had been broken for the beast to break loose of the rest of them. It attacked the knights with claw, tooth, and tail. The still disoriented knights fell quickly to the dragon, and it used this time to make an escape. Ashur called his dragon and pursued the chaos dragon. He followed it to one of the non-inhabited floating islands over Valdonia. Ashur confronted the dragon asking to help it, but the chaos dragon went in for the attack. It used its sharply pointed tail to pierce Ashur's dragon. This made Ashur react by swinging his sword at the dragon's tail, making a slight gash. Droplets of blood fell to the ground, and as it arced its tail to strike Ashur this time, a drop fell on his forehead.

Everything went dark and Ashur thought for sure that he was dead. Then, he saw the fuzzy image of the chaos dragon, only a baby, hatching from its egg. He watched as the dragon grew up, hunting, swimming, flying, both growing older and larger. The atmosphere was bright and happy, yet soon there came a day when it grew dark. The dragon was filled with pain, he could feel it. It needed to release its breath to relieve the pain. This was only temporary, as the terrible pain would build up again. Soon, even releasing her breath was not relieving the pain, and her mind became twisted from it. All she wanted now, was to die...

Ashur opened his eyes to see the dragon preparing to impale him. He quickly whipped out his violin from his backpack, and began playing an extremely calm and soothing melody. The dragon's tail twitched as it temporarily halted its attack. Ashur played for hours on end, his body becoming tired. After an hour, the dragon's tail lowered. After about another hour, the dragon lowered its body to the ground, watching Ashur intently. After one more hour, the dragon's eyes began slowly closing. Ashur continued playing, even for another hour, just to make sure it was truly asleep. Only then did Ashur allow himself to rush off into sleep...

Ashur spent the next few months on that island trying to relieve that dragon of its pain. Only after about a year, did Ashur find a solution. He relieved half of the dragon's pain by taking it for himself. This ritual happened to work, as the dragon no longer went crazy without reason. At first, Ashur had believed that he was controlling himself well, yet eventually he discovered that his body had actually created a split personality to deal with the pain when it became too intense. Ashur decided to continue his dream to become a knight. Yet, he knew he could never officially join their ranks now. So he decided to become a guardian of Valdoniaon his own accord.

To this day, Ashur and Aurora fly over Valdonia, watching and waiting for the day when they will be needed...

So begins...

Ashur felt the wind in his hair and nothing at his feet, as they dangled in the air.  What a wonderful feeling it was to fly high above the ground.  Occasionally there would be a dive and Ashur would feel the effects of a free fall, only to level out mere feet from the ground.  The beautiful nighttime scenery below Ashur passing by in blinks of an eye.  Soon after a few strong motions of her wings, Aurora and Ashur were again floating elegantly on the winds.  The view of Valdonia at night was one of which few in the world are lucky enough to witness.  The full moon illuminated the landscape, so Ashur could see the farthest extends of the lands.  It is both entirely enlightening and quite calming.

Aurora and Ashur would fly around the entirety of Valdonia, from the desert in the west to the sea cliffs in the east, the mountains in the north to the floating islands over the sea, making sure that none were in trouble and all was well.  They made more than one pass over Cadence city seeing a competition in progress and a few others still wandering the streets doing chores and having a good time.  In the woods, there was a gathering of people building a fire.  The desert was devoid of people now that it was growing dark and more and more dragons were flying around the whole of Valdonia enjoying the spectacular beauty of it all.  The true knights of Valdonia were not to be seen, except for a few sentries standing guard on various towers and fortresses and the occasional patrolling guard.  Ashur decided that it would be best to stay out of their vision for the time being.  From what Ashur could tell, it was another quiet night over Valdonia, meaning he could enjoy this night to the fullest.

At this point, Ashur pulled out his violin and directed Aurora to fly low in the sky.  He began playing the violin as he and Aurora flew across the sky.  He played both fast, exciting pieces and slow, elegant ones as well.  Soon enough, Aurora began enjoying herself as well, by occasionally shooting her breath weapon up into the sky.  Given the circumstances, Aurora had a slight control over the burst of chaos.  She formed the center most orb of the blast to be concentrated into light.  Upon release from her mouth, the beam shot into the air.  As it soared higher and higher, Aurora began to lose control of it and the chaos took over.  The sphere exploded into a burst of dazzling light, ice, fire, and scant amounts of electricity.  The light refracted off of the pieces of ice.  The fire swirled and began to torrent through the sky as it died out.  The lightning jumped across the chunks of ice before fading away, melting the ice instantly and causing a crackling sound.  All together, the experience is something like that of watching a firework explode.  Aurora would shoot off her concentrated breath quite often, as it filled with joy to do so.  These displays were not too uncommon, and some around Valdonia  knew and heard stories of this mysterious white-clad rider and his golden black dragon.  They awaited such a prestige night, for the wondrous displays of lights and entertainment.  To Ashur and Aurora, these nights occurred much too rarely, therefore they enjoyed themselves to the fullest each and every time.

After about an hour, Ashur was enjoying himself a little too much to quickly notice that one of the knights was now pursuing him.  He turned around in time to see the knight readying a crossbow bolt.  Ashur secured his violin to his back and tied the reins around his wrists.

(Ah, it is about time that there was some excitement tonight!  Wouldn't you say, Lady Aurora?  Whenever you are ready then. )

Aurora simply nodded in agreement and dove off at full speed into a free falling dive...

白砂Shirasu

Shirasu was startled by the sudden flaring of lights and the crackling of electricity. for a moment she went blind and could only see those bright colors. her dragon was also affected when she heard him yelp and faltered in the air. <what the hell was that>Suna asked. <I don't know-> "whoa!" Shirau yelped as she crashed down to the forest floor leaves and twigs falling down. <ah Shirasu are you alright I heard you yell> rubbing her now hurt bum Shirasu rubbed her eyes trying to clear them of the bright spots that now clouded her vision<aahh don't worry I'm alright I just missed a branch, I couldn't see so I fell-> "whoa" <what is it Shirasu answer me-aahh I see> hovering in the air Suna gazed at the aftermath of the flaring lights "so pretty I've never seen that before have you Suna?" as she gazed up through the branches and decided to climb higher into the trees to get a better view of the lights.

Shirasu was breath taken by the lights and soon she resumed to run in the trees, this time closer to the tops of the trees watching as the lights began to fade. she heard a violin play and was curious as to where it came from. then the music stopped and looking up spotted a silhouette of a dragon some distance away and it appeared to be chased by another silhouette of a dragon as well. <Suna what do you make of that it looks like the one farther away is being chased by that other one> <indeed I believe they are being chased ah look the dragon dived> and it did it dove off in a free fall dive. <do you wanna see what's going on Shirasu> his curiosity couldn't not be hidden from his voice. <no, not really but ill go take a look I'm rather curious as well do you think the one being chased was the cause off those lights?> <hhmm maybe well then lets go scope out this strange event shall we and don't worry ill try not to be seen>chuckling he hovered closer to the ground eye Shirasu as she ran with great speed and balance on the top most branches of the trees.

Grant rolled over for the umpteenth time. He had to admit that he was quite grateful for the covering provided by his partner's wing but he just couldn't sleep. He was worried about rider school and if having a wild dragon for a partner would be a problem. It wasn't anything he had ever heard of after all. All he ever heard of was raised hatchlings being partnered with humans.
Deciding not to worry about it too much more Grant sat up. Across from him Azarey's eyes opened a sliver.
"What?" The dragon groaned. Grant had finally figured out how to stop the dragon from peeking into his thoughts so he hadn't heard the ruminations of his partner's mind. "Go to sleep, Grant."
"Cant." Grant replied as he crawled past the dragon's head and out into the clearing. The flame was still burning brightly with no signs of burning out at all and he reminded himself to ask if she could have done that without fire wood. "What's it like to fly?"
Azarey's pulled his head from under his wing, a dragonish grin on his face. Grant almost laughed at the sight. He never had seen a dragon smile and it looked like he had just stepped in something quite disgusting.
"Are you wearing thick pants?" He asked as he spread his wings. He seemed almost as if he were waiting for this moment.
"I am." Grant replied with a smile. He was more than ready.
"Be back in a few ladies." He said without looking back at them.
With a smirk Grant ran towards a nearby tree. Hearing his partner's thoughts, Azarey leapt into the air and let his wings unfurl fully. Instantly he felt a warm wing fill his wings.
Grant watched as his partner caught the wind and began to glide over the forest. He chose his moment, waiting until he was just in front of Azarey's head and leapt high, calling forth a mighty updraft. He burst from the canopy, sailing high up above his partner, who finally started flapping his wings. Grant couldn't help himself; he let out a little shout of joy as he flipped in the air. It was his first time trying to use his power like this and it felt great.
"If it feels so great then why not fly yourself?" His partner remarked as he flew a few meters below him.
"Don't think I can." Grant answered, flapping his arms comically in the air as he floated down. "No wings for that. But I think I can probably hover for a little bit and maybe if I try really hard I could walk on water and walls like some kind of mystical shadow assassin guy."
Azarey laughed at the idea of his partner trying to walk on water. He had no doubts that he would try it either.
"I believe the hovering, just don't go trying to walk up walls please I don't think I'll be able to help you if you fall off a building. Not nearly enough room." He said as Grant landed softly on his neck just above his shoulder blades. He felt a soft tickling around his scales and turned his head curiously.
"I'm using the wind to hold me down by creating a slight vacuum around my legs. This way I don't fall off and your scales don't shred my pants." Grant explained.
Azarey grinned again.
"Then let's get the most out of this!" He shouted as he angled upwards towards the clouds. Grant held on tight to his partner's neck, pulling his torso down low until they were almost parallel. Off in the distance somewhere he could hear a violin playing and he felt that the song was too perfect for this moment.
The two of them burst through a cloud, the water in it instantly condensing into dew and soaking Grant's clothes. He noticed that in the moonlight the dew made Azarey glisten like pure sapphire. There was no way he would ever experience something more grand than flight with his new partner.
The two of them flew through more clouds, looping and twisting them high above the sight of anyone on the ground. Azarey let out jets of cool air at the clouds, the two of them laughing as they watched small flurries of snow fall from the clouds. Grant twisted the winds forming funnels in the cloud which they joyously dove through.
It was as if the two of them had known each other forever, they were so in sync that they lost track of who was thinking what as they flew.
After some time Azarey tucked his wings in, arching his back as he let gravity take hold. With a grin Grant let go and fell alongside his partner. He brought the wind in around himself as he and Azarey spiraled around each other. Once they were a few hundred feet from the ground, Azarey spread his wings, just enough to slow his descent and not tear his wings.Grant flipped lightly, letting out one more jubilant shout as he landed perfectly on his partner.
"That was amazing!" He thought and shouted aloud as they cruised along close to the ground. Off in the distance Grant thought he saw what looked like two dragons preparing to fight. He didn't care, however. He had just flown.
"Oops." Azarey suddenly said laughing to himself. Grant glanced around before spotting it himself.
The hills outside of Cadence seemed to have gone through winter by themselves.
The two of them were still laughing to themselves when they returned to the clearing and settled back down for the night.
"Tomorrow should be a good day." Remarked as Azarey sheltered him beneath his wings again.
"Yes, I may like this School of yours-ours." Azarey replied as they both drifted off to sleep.

As Ashur and Aurora sped downwards in a spinning dive, they concocted a strategy telepathically.

(( Lady Aurora, do you feel up to a challenge tonight, or will we be out maneuvering only one knight tonight? ))

{ Now Master Ashur, you know better than I that causing chaos is absolutely the best.  Let us have some fun. }

After this momentary exchange of words, Ashur looked back to see the knight following close behind.  He grinned, (( Very well then.  Keep alert for any other knights.  I will navigate.  Okay, let us begin by testing his dragon's acrobatic abilities.  Execute a reverse level out as close to ground as possible.  I would like to feel the ground brushing my hair.  Finish with a half barrel roll approximately ten seconds afterwards, we need to give them a chance! ))

Aurora said nothing, instead she squeezed her body tighter to reduce air resistance and to get more speed.  The ground was approaching quickly now, but Ashur was not afraid.  He and Aurora had performed this particular stunt successfully multiple times before.  They were barely fifteen feet from the ground when Aurora pulled up to level out their altitude.  Although, they did this in the non-conventional way.  Instead, they leveled out backwards and upside down.  Ashur held on tight as his head was merely feet away from the ground and was speeding past him.  He was close enough to see the individual blades of grass, if he wasn't moving so quickly that was.  He decided to take a brief look behind him at his pursuer.

As Ashur had guessed, the knight was surely thrown off guard by such a maneuver.  The knight leveled out in the ordinary way, the complete opposite direction of Ashur.  The knight needed to make a quick turnabout, giving Ashur the intended lead that he desired.  Flying upside down was extremely strenuous even for just a short time, so Ashur directed Aurora to quickly turn in a half barrel roll to resume the chase.  They were approaching the forest rapidly now.  (( Lady Aurora, as you surely know, we are quickly approaching the trees of the woods.  How challenging shall we make this for them? ))

Aurora silently answered Ashur's question by giving a powerful flap of her wings, projecting them faster towards the forest.  (( Very well, Lady Aurora.  We shall test our own skills with this one.  We will take a path towards Cadence. ))

At that moment, Aurora turned sideways as they flew into the heart of the woods.  They dipped and dived between trees, finding the openings and using them to their advantage.  They flew through branches and leaves nimbly, barely dodging the dangerous tree trunks. At one point, Ashur caught a thick branch that threw him off of Aurora's back, towards the ground. Aurora lowered her tail and Ashur caught ahold of it. He climbed back to where he belonged slowly. { Master Ashur, you must be tired? } Ashur smiled, as Aurora did not jest very often, usually only in dire situations did she choose to do so. Looking back, Ashur could see that the knight was no longer close behind. He was taking it slowly through the trees and quickly losing speed.  Soon enough, they lost the knight in the trees, and they slowed their pace only a bit to converse.  { Master Ashur, I believe they have given up already, maybe we overestimated them? }

(( I agree.  He will be scouting the tops of the canopies for us.  Let us continue our journey through the bottoms of the trees.  We'll come out in the streets of Cadence, and if we haven't lost him yet, we'll go towards the sea.  Will you be alright, Lady Aurora? ))

Once again, Aurora just propelled herself forward as her answer.  Ashur just smiled at the strength and endurance of his dragon, and readied himself for their arrival in Cadence.

as they headed towards the two silhouttes fighting suddenly she lost sight of one of them. <what!Suna what happened what happened to the other dragon> <I do not know Shirasu no wait get out ofte way!>he yelled urgently. Shirasu just barley had enough time to register his warning before a large beautiful dragon wove between the trees. she caught a glimpse of a rider who then git hit by a large branch and fell off. but was quickly rescued by his dragon.

Shirasu the whole time followed them long enough to watch him fall before his dragon caught him with its tail <it is a she> for a moment Shirasu was startled and stopped following them. remebering that she and Suna were almost synced and the two would sometimes hear each others thoughts even if it wasnt intended for them. <Damn i lost them> <really you lost them you could easily track them Shirasu easily, your just making an excuse to sleep because you dot want to admitt your tired>chuckling Suna squeezed through the branches landing next to her in the best way he could as a dragon his size. "that lookes unconfortable Suna here lets go this way i saw a large enough space between the trees for you to fit in"giving him a kind smile though she knew he couldnt see it from her head wrapp but she knew he could at least feel it.

leading Suna to her small clearing Suna flopped down as majesticly a tired dragon could. <oh so tired its been a long and eventful night dont you think?> "yeah i guess" Shirasu then setteled next to Sunas large body, resting in the crook of his arm. Causing the large dragon to sort of gasp. <hmm its un like you to sleep so close to me Shirasu are you sure your all right> "yeah im okay besides i do like sleeping like this, its warm and nice...." soon all you heard was her soft breathing as she feel asleep. Suna let out a long sigh wishing he curl next to her,to hold her in his arms. of course the closests thing he could get to holding her was this. Suna frowned for a moment before lifting his wing and curling it protectively over Shirasu's sleeping body and soon he too fell asleep.

Ashur and Aurora dashed through the rest of the woods unchallenged, so he anticipated what came next.  As they broke the barrier of the forest, they saw an ambush already waiting for them.  There was only one knight waiting for him about a hundred feet away, but this one was well armed.  Strapped to both shoulders of the knight's dragon were spear launchers.  Simply put, the launchers are the bows and the spears are the arrows.  These killing devices were built for downing large creatures.  Ashur, having seen this as a possibility, told Aurora right before the end of the trees to execute a right corkscrew immediately after entering the clearing.

She did as she was told, spinning her body in a barrel roll as well as turning to the right.  The spear that had been launched upon their sighting, sped past them only about a foot to the right.  The knight still had one more deadly shot, and Ashur that he had to be unpredictable to dodge this next spear.  After a quick thought, he told Aurora to feint a left corkscrew, but to instead only perform a barrel roll.  Aurora began spinning, similarly to the last time moving only slightly to the left, but mostly just completing a barrel roll.  The knight, thinking he had predicted Ashur's movements, shot to the left of where Ashur and Aurora currently were.  To his dismay, the spear hit nothing, as his enemy simply rolled in place, not actually moving in any direction.

Ashur smiled as his little trick had worked, although that smile didn't last long.  The knight pulled out a large scale crossbow, one Ashur recognized as a repeater crossbow.  These bows are able to shoot bursts of maybe ten arrows in a row under ten seconds.  Then it would take only a few seconds to reload this crossbow, if more ammo was prepared.  Ashur knew that this would most likely be the case. One or two arrows wouldn't be a problem, but this many would certainly be problematic.  After only a quick thought, Ashur directed Aurora to slow their progress towards the knight with three powerful thrusts of her wings to gain some quick altitude.  Just in time, Aurora gave three strong winged gusts of wind in front of them.  This maneuver both gave them extra altitude and redirected the arrows downward.

Right away, Ashur directed Aurora to dive very near the ground to regain some speed and close the distance between them.  Ashur knew that he would be faced with the knight's dragon's breath weapon if he continued his collision course, so he advised Aurora to prepare her own breath weapon, and wait for his command.  He watched intently on the knight, not so much the human that was quickly trying to reload his crossbow, but the dragon's mouth.  He watched it open and could see the energy within building up, letting Ashur know that this was not just a long breath.  In his mind, Ashur yelled for Aurora to release her breath now.  Ashur timed Aurora's breath such that her breath reached within five feet away of the knight's dragon before the knight's dragon could release his.

The collision of Aurora's chaos breath and the knight's dragon's lightning caused a few small explosions of electricity, spreading the rest of it in a tight packed radius mostly hitting the knight, but some flew far enough away to electrocute Ashur and Aurora.  Ashur could feel Aurora stiffen slightly as the lightning passed through her body.  Then Ashur felt his heart skip a beat and his hair stand on end, as it passed through him as well.

(( Lady Aurora, you are alright? )) Ashur asked.

{ Master Ashur, you must worry more about your own frail human body than mine.  Dragons were built for these sorts of things! }

Ashur simply smiled at this response, and redirected his attention to the matter at hand.  The knight and his dragon were most likely still disoriented from that blast, so Ashur decided to make sure this knight didn't follow after regaining control.

(( Execute a high oval somersault, and meet me underneath these two. ))

After saying this, Ashur jumped off of Aurora as she began ascending and landed on the knight's dragon with enough force to throw it into a frenzy.  He immediately jumped off, onto the back of Aurora as she passed underneath the now crashing dragon and rider.   Thoroughly satisfied with themselves, Aurora and Ashur flew more slowly now into Cadence city, watching as the sun rose in the east.  Ashur shook his head, realizing that he had forsaken another night of sleep for teaching those knights another lesson in flying. He decided to take a small nap before it got too bright.

(( Lady Aurora, fly us around Cadence a few times.  I am going to take a quick rest on your back while you fly.  Do not hesitate to wake me if something of importance presents itself. ))

Aurora simply responded.  { You humans... } She then gained enough altitude to fly above the cloud layer where she lazily floated there, watching the various people wandering the city of Cadence doing their everyday activities.  By this time, Ashur had already fallen asleep.

Ashur awoke some time later, the sun still rising in the sky.  He had to smile upon seeing himself and Aurora floating over the endless desert of the west.  This amused him as the strong, warm updrafts and winds of the desert are some of the only ones in Valdonia that could keep a dragon as large as Aurora aloft whilst she slept.  He righted himself on Aurora's back and crept closer to her head.  With a gigantic grin on his face his spoke to Aurora using his rarely utilized voice.  In a deep, jovial tone Ashur said, "Good morning, Lady Aurora!". He patted her head lightly to accent his words.

Aurora responded by performing a quick barrel roll, shaking Ashur right off of her back.  He fell until he was only five feet from the sands below, as Aurora caught him in her claws as gingerly as a dragon could.  Pushing his luck, Ashur continued tormenting his dragon.     (( See, now?  I knew you would never think of dropping me in that sand! ))

Aurora simply let go of Ashur so that he fell the last five feet into the sand.  He rolled upon impact, and got sand into every crevice of his armor.  He simply smiled while he dusted himself and shook out most of the sand.  His dragon flew overhead and gave a small snort, the closest thing that she would do to show emotion.  { Master Ashur, you do forget who the dragon is?  I am quite capable of leaving you here to fend for yourself. }

Again, Ashur just chuckled as he climbed to the top of a ten foot tall sand dune.  He jumped at a necessary time to mount Aurora, as she flew beside the dune.  They gained altitude quickly, catching an updraft of warm air.  (( Lady Aurora, let us begin today's patrol around the floating islands over Cadence.  Afterward, I'd like to take a stroll of the streets of Cadence personally.  I don't mean to throw you to the sky, but your presence may make the knights do something they regret again. ))

Aurora snorted, obviously displeased with Ashur's decision.  Yet, she respected his reasoning, as the knights around Cadence still were not comfortable with a dragon of her background living within the city limits.  She could handle them easily herself, if they didn't use cheap tricks nor outnumber her seven to one.  With only a moment of reluctance, Aurora took off at full speed toward Cadence city's floating islands, making sure to show Ashur her displeasure with a particularly bumpy ride.

At that speed, they made their way to the islands in only a few minutes.  They circled around some floating land masses, searching for one specific earth mote.  Soon enough, Ashur found that one island.  This island was different from the others in which it was very small and completely uninhibited by people.  This land mass was overgrown with lush and colorful plants filled with all varieties of fruits.  Ashur dismounted Aurora upon arrival and pulled out a burlap sack.  He began wandering around the earth mote, finding some of the most delicious and unique fruits that he could find.  One in particular was his favorite. This fruit, one he had come to call the "Spike Berry", is softball sized and a grand, deep blue hue. This fruit has large, pointy spikes all around itself holding in some sort of blue goo that has a very sweet taste.  This was usually enough to satisfy Ashur's hunger in a single fruit.  He filled his sack and walked farther into the deep foliage.

He kept his eyes open for a bright red fruit.  This one, Ashur had come to call "Big Red", as it was nearly the size of Ashur himself.  It wasn't very hard to find the gigantic berry, but harvesting it was much more problematic.  Ashur sized up the fruit, red with stray streaks of bright white, and a human-arm thick stem holding the berry aloft.  In one movement, Ashur pulled his sword from its sheath, cut the branch, and replaced his blade.  The fruit made a thud as it hit the ground.  Ashur slowly rolled this behemoth to the edge of the island where Aurora had left him.  Immediately, Aurora flew nearby, grabbed it in her claws, tossed it up to her mouth, and chomped down on the mouth sized morsel.  This specific fruit had the strange quality that it provided the same nutrients as a piece of meat of the same size, including the taste, without all of the work of hunting something.

Ashur finished his blue fruit and pulled some plain white robes from his backpack.  He covered his armor completely with the robes and pulled the hood up over his head.  Slinging the sack back over his shoulder, he remounted Aurora and she gingerly dropped him off on the outskirts of Cadence City.  At this, Ashur gave a slight bow to Aurora as she flew off to be obscured by the clouds over Cadence.  Ashur then walked into the marketplace district, looking at the different stalls, glancing at the wares and keeping an eye on the various faces wandering the market.  He kept his eye out for anything unusual, or anything that happened to catch his eye...
