Scientifically created dragons of war turned sentient, with the ability to continue to evolve themselves until humans are forced into heavily defended cities. A failed plan to hatch dragons that can look human will be the only hope of ending the war.

Introduction

Image
Drakospeda

In 2020, scientists finally developed a new type of living, breathing war machine. Genetically engineered "Dragons" became the primary means of waging war, with breath hot enough to melt through Kevlar and leave nothing but black ash behind them, they were continuously modified to suit many purposes. Spying, destroying land, destroying people, destroying each other... Test tube grown flying lizards headed the wars of the future. As physical abilities grew and grew, so did their mental capacities. Nobody is sure who developed the first sentient dragon, or even what happened to it, but soon the dragons were thinking on their own, making their own decisions. It didn't take long for them to realize their own fighting was pointless, and the powerless humans were the true enemy. Despite counter and preventative measures, many dragons flew the coop, turning on their former masters and driving humanity towards near extinction. The remains of life gathered in large cities, packed with counter measures for the flying, fiery beasts.

Decades pass and the city life becomes normalized. Underground farms blaze the way to the future, improved weapons finally give humanity a fighting chance, if only minuscule. Waste is reduced more with every year, shrinking the piles and piles of it just outside the cities where the smaller, nonsentient dragons roam like rats, eating insects and pests. Enough peace seems to have fallen that humanity begins to simply accept its fate. However, sudden organized dragon attacks once again nearly wipe the humans from the earth. Such was the last time humans ever assumed they could leave the dragons in peace, and generations since have been instilled with the knowledge and fear of the secondary masters of the earth.

In the wastelands of the world outside the cities, dragons have finally had their freedom, and nature begins to balance herself out again. The most intelligent of the dragons form a coalition as something of their own government. Disgusted by humans and still enraged by the gruesome shed of their own kind historically in the name of another species' war, they bide their time and extract their revenge. Yet the humans are quickly finding ways to fight back, so they return to their original modifications, back to the genetics that made them fearsome machines of war and tactile little spies. They formulate a way to invade the humans without detection that would risk far too many reptilian lives: disguise, infiltrate, destroy. With time, they manage to breed their greatest accomplishment yet: dragons with the ability to take human forms. Once grown enough, these hatchlings would be essential in finally eradicating their sworn enemy and taking the world for their own.

Approximately 20 years ago, however, the project came to a shuttering halt when a human raid party made off with the load of unhatched eggs. The party was stopped before it could return to its fortified city, but the only way to do so meant that they destroyed nearly all of the unhatched eggs, rather having the eggs destroyed than in the wrong hands. However, this move put a halt to the breeding as the breeding Mothers mourned their lost children, too grief stricken to properly mate.

Never did any of the dragons suspect that a handful would ever make it out of the wreckage, able to hatch one day into confused little children, unsure of even their own species. Raised in the trash piles by small, less sentient dragons they would have to learn on their own how to be both a dragon and a human. With the best of both worlds and without the influence of either race over them, they would become the world's first hope for peace. However, what could young, confused dragons and perhaps a few human kids ever do against a war so old that no one can remember its birth but a few elder dragons? Will they keep their ideals in the face of the truth of their own nature? This will be their story...

  • This is a literate RP, I ask for at least 2 substantial paragraphs, but I'm not putting an upper limit. I can be quite profuse writing so be prepared to read through long posts. If you want to make your posts fancy, feel free, but it's not mandatory.
  • Read all information on the roleplay before applying. I cannot tell you how many people have applied to my roleplays before with character types that weren't available or characters that just would not work well or who are simply not possible. Do not be that person
  • You can have up to four characters, one of each type. Please only take as many as you can handle, and make sure to clearly define which characters perspective you are writing from at the time.
  • To keep things all tidy, please write in 3rd person. If you don't feel you can do that, first person is acceptable, but please no second person.
  • If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, please do not leave other characters waiting on you if possible, and let the group know.
  • Please read all posts. I know it can be a chore in literate roleplays at times, but it makes sure that nobody gets ignored or has to rewrite their post. As a person who has been ignored in roleplays, it kills the fun pretty quick.
  • I know having a conversation between 2 or a few people can be fun, but try avoid creating excessive amounts of posts between two or three people without allowing others time to read up on what you've been writing. Coming back to post after post by the same few people and having to read through all of them can be a pain especially if it doesn't have much to do with your character(s)
  • This roleplay will be PG-13. Violence is acceptible, but romance wise please consider what you would be okay with a kid seeing or your boss/parent/grandmother reading over your shoulder when it comes to romance.
  • Please read through this information on character types before designing your OCs:

Dragons:
Before the incident with the eggs, there were a few dragons hatched with the morphing ability. As this roleplay will be mainly set in a human defended city, you can only choose between two types of dragons, both of which can take a single human form, not of their choosing. One is a dragon that grew up among other sentient dragons, raised to despise and hate humans and trained to invade the city and begin to disorganize the humans in secret. They maintain their human forms at all times in the city, and but have the ability to recognize other dragons in disguise. Likely these dragons grew up together or at least know in passing the other dragons like them stationed in the city. Age range of these dragons should be approximately 20-30.

The second type of dragons are the ones discussed in the intro: their eggs were stolen by humans and unknowingly abandoned by the sentient dragons. They hatched on the outskirts of the city and grew up in the trash ring unnoticed due to their small size as hatchlings, blending in with the nonsentient, populous dragons that are allowed in the outskirts to keep down rodent and pest populations. They may have known others like them growing up or perhaps never met another of their kind. At some point they discovered their ability to look human, and were able to enter into the city, and from there it's up to you. Their ages should range from 13-20.

Humans
The vast majority of humans are going to be extremely opposed to dragons. They've grown up in fear all their lives of dragon attacks and keeping hope that the defenses of the city will continue to protect them, with barriers above and around them to prevent fiery attacks. A few brave souls enlist to go out and make their living attacking dragons, able to return and sell things like fangs, scales, claws, leather, and eggs for large sums money. Playable humans opposed to dragons should be of the ages 16-30, and their profession is up to you.

A very select few may be convinced to appreciate dragons, likely through interaction with the young dragons in human form. VERY few humans will feel anything but fear, hate, or resentment for dragons without a significant reason to feel otherwise. Human OCs that look for peace with the young dragons should be approximately 13-18 in age, as much older would likely have more experience or ingrained societal opinions otherwise.

"Stop, halt!" A pair of police officers raced through the crowded market area the best they could, but with the bustling crowd their progress was slow. A young man with crimson hair, their target, didn't even flinch at their voices.

"You'd think they would learn that shouting solves nothing," he spoke allowed to himself, a bad habit he'd picked up fairly recently. Smiling and standing up right, he cheerfully waved back at his pursuers. "Sorry guys, I got places to be! I'll smell ha later!" With that, he ducked into the thick of the crowd, slipping around with ease, as a snake through its twisting hollow. The small rucksack on his back was bulging with goods he had, ah, tactfully acquired, and made things only mildly more difficult. Throughly blended in with the crowd, he slipped into a small grocery store to his right where the crowd thinned a bit, grabbing a stick of jerky as he passed with speed and precision, slipping it up his sleeve before anyone could notice anything suspicious. At the back of the store he slipped into the employees only area and headed out through the loading dock.

Outside and off the busy street, it was considerably quieter, though the shouting and bustling could still be heard as a low grumble of people passing. Looking around to make sure he had shaken anyone off his tail, the thief allowed himself a small chuckle, and taking a seat he wripped open the packaging on the stick of jerky and ripped into it hastily. However, he'd only gobbled about half of it down when he heard familiar shouts. Rolling his eyes, he pushed from his elevated seat down to the ground, looking around to spot the pair of officers with a keen eye. His cheerful demeanor dropped, and without a word he took off again, into the alleyways nearby, trying to get enough distance to give him enough time for his final trick.

Looping around to the side of a restaurant, he nearly ran right into the sight of someone taking out the trash. The moment they disappeared back inside though, the young man stopped, removing his shirt and pack, taking a few deep breaths and closing his eyes. Almost the moment he did, his skin began to turn to scales, and it seemed like his very shape began to come unwound from the human one, stretching into something far more reptilian. Leathery wings fanned out, and where had once stood a man stood a dragon, though one only about the size of a very large dog. The moment he could fly, he was off, zooming with powerful wings up the side of the building, using three of his clawed feet (the fourth holding his bag and shirt) to help push himself up more and ease some of the strain on his back.

Hitting the rooftop, the dragon form folded up again, back to the human shape. Panting now, the young dragon pulled his t-shirt back on and slung his pack. "Liam you have got to find better ways than going straight up all the time," he grumbled, before peeking back down over the edge at the confused cops who were probably swearing like sailors. Satisfied he'd lost them, he plopped down on the roof and finished his stick of jerky, ready to wait it out until the pair finally left the area and he could make his way down.

Esra walked calmly through the street stopping occasionally to 'Shop', though she would still have to hunt it helped keep her cover, she had just picked up a small round fruit and was examining it with keen interest when a shout broke her concentration. She saw a younger looking boy with crimson hair run past, a soft glow seemed to outline his form and Esra dropped the fruit following him with curiosity, he was a dragon one like her, without thinking she followed him to an old restaurant using her magic to keep up without raising too much suspicion.
As the gaurds came closer she went the other way and caught a glimpse of him turning into his dragon form and smiled "Another dragon! How intriguing, he wasn't in the nest or I would remember him he must have been lost..this is a great discovery!" Esra thought excitedly her eyes lighting up she hid herself well then used the little magic she could spare to appear on the rooftop where the boy had gone she felt dizzy as her feet touched the ground on the roof but looked at the boys back intent to study him for a moment.

After a few seconds she spoke up softly as not to startle him "Hello, dragon boy" was all she could say as she studied his actions ready to protect herself but immensely curious as to how he had come to be, all of the hatchlings were said to have been killed. She absently twirled her whit-silver hair as she thought of the endless possibilities the very thoughts making her noticeably giddy. Her figure buzzing with excitement for her discovery and the theories running through her mind, her eyes went slightly draconic as she awaited the boys response.

Liam nearly jumped out of his skin at the voice from behind him. He was on his feet in a flash, whirling around to face whoever had discovered his secret. Questions raced through his head, building up a bit of a panic in him and causing the pupils in his bright blue eyes to turn to slits. His position was defensive, ready to flee in an instant, yet his curiosity on how someone had snuck up so close to him kept him in place.

"Who are you?" he asked, his voice low and airy, like there was a slight hissing behind it as the air moved around slightly elongated, sharp teeth. "How did you get up here? What did you..." he trailed off when his keen eyes caught sight of the draconic eyes to match his own. With a sharp inhale of surprise, he took a step back toward the ledge. "You... You're like me..." Carefully, he straightened up a bit, seeing the woman looked just as defensive as he was. "I didn't think there was- I thought I was all alone."

The street rat had no idea how to process the information. Clearly she was older and far more experienced them him if she could sneak up on him, not to mention she had somehow recognized him as a dragon in the first place. Although slightly less afraid now, he was still brimming with questions. Did this woman know more about what they were? How did she recognize him? Did she contain some sort of power that maybe he had latent as well? Glancing over the edge, the two cops were still sniffing around, so he had time to kill before he could get back on his way again.

Esra stiffled a small yet amused giggle as Liam jumped up, she listened carefully and was amazed at his power for one so young. Esra watched his stance straighten and felt relieved she let her body relax a bit and looked into his eyes taking all of the details in carefully when she saw his realization she was about to speak when he did "I didn't think there was- I thought I was all alone." Came his voice and her heart skipped a realization all her own he was alone 'How it must be to have been alone..no mother to love you..no one to teach you..' She thought sadly before looking him in the eyes once more.

"Y-yes I am, I am Esra Draco and I can answer any questions you may have young one I know this must be strange..and I hope you are alright I have never met another of our kind who wasn't raised in the nest.." Her thoughts ran wild 'How did he survive? Where is he from? Is he the only one?' She was becoming overly curious again her body language showing this curiosity as well as her care to help another of her kind she felt her eyes become bigger slits and her body exuded a magic glow as her curiosity was making it hard to control her human form.

Esra took a deep breath and calme herself trying not to overwhelm the boy. She realized she didn't know his name "Sorry I am caught a bit off guard by this discovery, what is your name?" Her voice was soft and kind as she tried to calm her Curious nature.

Elet shoved his hands into his jacket as he wandered through the streets. His bright green eyes scanned everything around him in intrigue. He had been in this little town many times now but there was always something new and different to investigate. The humans interacted with each other in a very different way that the way his family interacted. There was just so much more complexity to their speech. He craved it. He wanted to speak to them the way they spoke. He had chatted with a couple of children who seemed his age but he knew he didn't belong. Their gazes said as much and he didn't know how to play their games. So, he found himself consistently stuck on the outskirts of human interaction. In a way, that gave him an advantage. People ignored him so he could observe their mannerisms and learn about their daily life without hindrance.

He had learned pretty quickly that to own something here, you had to purchase it with money. Money was hard to come by if you didn't have a 'job'. He didn't really know what that was, but he understood that you had to work for it. Every once in a while he did find coins and the like on the floor which he had collected. He didn't know how to count but he assumed that the amount of coins he had collected would amount to some kind of value. Perhaps he had enough now that he could purchase some of the mouth watering and warm delicacies they had for sale. He particularly wanted a piece of that pie. He could see the steam rising from it and his stomach growled loudly. That morsel looked a lot better than the scraps the humans tossed his family or the trash they ate, or even the live game they hunted down.

Elet hurried over to the pie stand and looked up at the shop keeper. "H-hello," Elet greeted. "I would umm..like to buy a piece of pie," he said and offered a little smile. He quickly put all of the coins he had on the table and pushed them towards the woman. "Is this enough?"

The woman standing there looked down at Elet and arched an eyebrow. She looked down at the coins and shook her head. "That is not enough to buy a pie, sweetheart. Take the coins back."

Elet frowned and looked down at the coins. "How much do I need?"

"A lot more than that. Where are your parents?"

"I don't have any," he lied. He didn't have any parents that this woman would be able to talk to anyway.

"You poor dear," she frowned. "I'll tell you what. I'll give you a piece of pie. Tomorrow you come back early in the morning and I'll have you earn it by helping me set up my things. Okay?" She knew she ran the risk of never seeing the boy the next morning if he was playing her, but she couldn't help herself. She was a sucker for kids.

Elet's face brightened and he gave her a big smile. "Thank you! I'll be here in the morning!" Elet accepted the pie then and hurriedly scurried off with it. He bit into the warm, gooey apple pie and moaned. It was the best thing he'd ever had the pleasure of tasting. In his excitement a few scales appeared on his neck and on his hands and his eyes had become slits without his realizing for a moment.

Lilith

Lilith climbed down a drainage pipe into an alley. Her feet padded softly as she walked to the mouth of the alley. She peered out, seeing a pie stand with a little boy standing by it about half a block away. She could tell by his motions that he had taken his coins back, yet the woman selling the pies gave him a slice. Why was that? She was curious as to what was so special about this boy. Without hesitation, she darted across the street before hiding behind the corner of a building.

She peeked around the corner just as the boy turned to leave, walking down the street with his slice of pie. Lilith wasn't normal one to steal food from children, but today was different. She was rather hungry as she hadn't been able to acquire human food that day. Normally in this situation, she would shift into her dragon form and hunt outside of the city. But each time she had gone near the wall there were soldiers guarding it. She wasn't hungry enough to risk her life flying over the wall, nor did she think she ever would be. However, she was hungry enough to steal this boy's slice of pie.

The pale girl walked quietly to the next block, knowing where the boy would end up after he had gone down the street. She began to run, her small feet hitting the ground lightly. She was very agile due to her size, making it easy for her to escape most danger. Lilith turned down another street, where she saw the boy eating his pie. He looked content, only making her hungrier. She was eager to get her hands on that pie.

Before Elet knew what was happening, Lilith darted by and swiped his pie from him. She continued down the street, so focused on taking the pie that she hadn't realized he was like her-- a dragon. She looked down at it as if it were a prize. However, this distracted her long enough that she did not see the stone in front of her. She tripped on it, dropping the plate. It skidded a few meters away from her. Somehow, the pie had managed to remain on the plate, though it was now at the edge instead of the center.

The poor girl just stared at it, dumbfounded. She had only tripped a few times in her life, so the idea that she could fall down while running still shocked her at the age of 18. Lilith looked down at her hands. They had some small stones in them and her hands had been scraped. A few spots of blood had found their way to the surface of her skin. Fortunately, she was wearing pants and her leg had not been scraped.

Jason

Jason sighed as he walked the streets, trying to remember where the grocery store was. It hadn't move all his life, but for some reason he could never recall where it was. Perhaps it was because his mind was preoccupied with more interesting things than the price of apples and oranges whenever he had gone with his mother. He was a 15 year old boy-- he didn't care about grocery shopping.

The teenager frowned as he looked around. He was 90 percent sure that the grocery store was within two blocks of where he was. He recognized the clothing store on the corner across from him. His mother liked to go there and for some reason felt the need to take him with her until he was about 10. Honestly, he wasn't sure why his mother took him to a lot of places. It was just something she did. Except that now when he had the freedom to go somewhere on his own, he needed her help.

"Ok, so I think it's east of here. Or maybe west? Or was it north? It can't be south, I came from that way," he spoke aloud. Jason was hoping that talking to himself might jog his memory, but it only confused him more. He took a deep breath to help him focus. The grocery store couldn't be to the west, because that was the direction of the corner with the clothing store. Down the street were more clothing stores. He definitely didn't want to go that way. That left north and east, though he had no idea which direction. On a whim, he continued walking straight (to the north).

Liam

The young dragon shrugged at the woman, tugging at the straps of his pack and relaxing back to a regular human form. "Well, I was kind of raised in a nest, but I don't think the others quite understood things like I did. I was always pretty different from them, not the same type I guess..." Liam's eyes glazed a bit at the fond thought of times passed outside the walls of the human city with the small dragons that had become his family. He hadn't seen them in so long, it being so hard to escape the city now with in increased size. Even for human standards he was pretty tall and lanky, not exactly easy to hide in the trash anymore. Quickly returning to the real world though, he extended a hand out for a friendly hand shake.

"Esra? I'm Liam, nice to meet you," he smiled cheerfully. Before he could say anymore, however, he was cut off by the sound of an alarm coming from his watch. "Crap! Uh, I gotta go. Mouths to feed and stuff like that. Um... catch you around I guess? We need to talk some time!" Without warning, he turned and shifted quickly, jumping from the building and speeding off with a sharp crack of the air beneath the tips of his wings. The young dragon soared over a few building before diving into one of the less used alleys, where he shifted back and took off at a sprint back to the market street, not bothering to even look back. "Shit they're gonna go crazy if I'm not back soon..." he muttered to himself.

Still crowded as usual, he nearly bowled straight into some kid who looked maybe like a young teen who had stopped to look around himself, dodging at the last second but not even slowing down. Almost like he had blinders on to his destination, he didn't notice the girl sprinting with the pie until she tripped right in his line of travel. He had just barely managed to jump over her body and barely maintain his balance when he realized he recognized the long purple hair, making him skid to a stop and turn back around to help her up.

"Lilith, woah! You okay?" he inquired, offering a hand up and oblivious to the plate of pie.

Akhira

I just remembered why I hate shopping, Akhira glared silently at nothing in particular as she waited to cross the street, Especially grocery shopping. While Akhira's hunger often led her to eating large quantities of food in a single day, she rarely, if ever, made food for herself. Meaning, she had never gone grocery shopping or even touched a stove in her entire life.

Who needs a stove when you can just burn it yourself, or better yet, eat it raw. Before she stop her hungry stomach from affecting how she thought, her mind conjured up an image of a dead bear. In response to the image, her stomach growled out, causing several people nearby to look in astonishment at her.

She glared daggers at them. They quickly went on their way, wisely choosing to flee from her presence.

Despite not being a fan of cooking food like a human, she had made it an objective to locate a local food source when she first arrived in the City and it was when she was nearly there that she saw him.

A young human, so young as to remind her of a nestling. He was obviously lost. Weak human, was what her senses told her, A weak nestling meant to be protected, to stay in the nest. She growled softly in irritation at the instincts of the primitive beast that still lurked inside her. Of course her kind were sentient, and intelligent beings now but they had been beasts of war first, and no matter how far they go in evolution, the instinct of a wild beast would always remain with them.

She watched the human nestling silently, and from afar heard him speak to himself. "Ok, so I think it's east of here. Or maybe west? Or was it north? It can't be south, I came from that way." Even though she was in human form, and a bit of a way from the boy, she heard his words clearly as if he were only about five feet away from her, an advantage of being a human with a dragon's sense of hearing.

Akhira saw in his hands a piece of paper, and from what she heard, and saw, she deduced that he was going grocery shopping as well. Without knowing why, or even realizing what she was doing, Akhira walked up beside him, "From the paper in your hand, I'm assuming your looking for the grocery store and I thought should let you know, your going the wrong way."

Esra smiled at Liam he was an interesting boy one she was impressed to find 'A nest outside the city?..The non sentient ones!' She thought ecstatically not noticing his reaction she saw him reach his hand out in a friendly gesture and say "Esra? I'm Liam, nice to meet you," he smiled cheerfully. Before he could say anymore, however, he was cut off by the sound of an alarm coming from a small thing on his wrist,Esra still didn't remember that word for the tiny contraption. "Crap! Uh, I gotta go. Mouths to feed and stuff like that. Um... catch you around I guess? We need to talk some time!" Before she could reply he jumped up and turned into a dragon the wind shooting towards her ruffled her hair and she smiled immensely her mind racing "I found another! I know there must be more, now to tell the elders!" She said aloud to herself before using her magic to return home to the small house she had procured when she arrived in town.

After writing out a letter explaining the events Esra lit a small fire on a candle "To the elders you must go!" She said as she lit the paper on fire it flashed blue then disappeared in a puff of smoke. Esra grabbed a book on the history of the dragons and started reading trying to find any knowledge the humans may have had about her kind being found as she read her mind relaxed taking in the literature in front of her. She finished one book and went to the next shuffling through the books she had gathered at the market.

After reading several books Esra let out a great sigh of relief no records show that any of her kind had been found as she put her book away her stomach growled immensely ' Curse my appetite.. This form cannot be sustained for long I need to hunt' she thought feeling her body become less human as her hunger grew. She quickly made her way to her roof and jumped letting her body transform, though dangerous she knew not feeding would plunge her sentience farther down making her a machine like the humans had wanted she knew without food she would be a useless killing machine unable to complete her task at hand, find their weaknesses and destroy them all.

Elet hummed to himself. Pie was so tasty! He had like little bits of pie before but they were never this good. Fresh, warm, and gooey pie was now his favorite food in the world. He closed his eyes for just a moment and then... it was gone. His deliciousness was gone! He looked up a bit startled when he found his plate had been snatched out of his very hands. A young girl was running down the alley way with it and his eyes narrowed. That was his pie! He had gone and got it! The nice lady gave it to him and no one else! He was even going to work for that slice of amazingness.

"H-hey! That's mine!" he called after her and started running. He was not going to give it up without a fight. The girl tripped then and his eyes remained glued on the soaring plate of pie until it landed. He gave a sigh of relief, but really, even if the pie itself fell on the floor he would have devoured it. He ate out of a garbage can for crying out loud. A little bit of dirt wasn't going to deter him from his prize. He rushed forward but immediately cut himself off when he saw someone else in the alley. Elet pressed up against the side of the building and looked at the boy that leaned down to help the pie thief up. Oh no! She had a partner! He couldn't stand up to two people.

Elet nibbled on his lip and glanced between the two of them and the fallen pie. He started to slowly inch around his corner and tried to stay out of sight as he moved towards his pie. He snatched it up from the ground and quite literally shoved the rest of it in his mouth. There. Now the two thieves couldn't get it. He looked like quite a spectacle with his cheeks extended like a chipmunk as he tried to chew. He looked over at the girl and the other boy then and soon, guilt filled his stomach along with the remainder of his pie. They were probably hungry to.

Elet pulled at his sleeves and looked down at his shoes. "I... I am sorry. I should have shared it with you." He moved a little closer and looked at the girl trying to see if she was hurt. He really should have checked to make sure he was okay before he jumped his pie. "Umm... Are.. Are you okay?" he asked then and glanced at the boy. He hoped the older boy didn't try and beat him up for letting his friend get hurt.

Lilith

Lilith was still sitting stunned on the ground when a familiar face appeared. It was Liam. The two could be considered friends, seeing each other here and there and occasionally working together to steal food. However, Liam had a whole little gang that he took care of. Lilith had only herself to worry about.

Liam asked if she was ok and offered her a hand. Not wanting to get blood on his hand, Lilith accept his help but only let her fingers come into contact with him. Once she was standing, she looked up at him. She looked up to almost everyone since she was only 4' 10". She nodded, letting him know that she was ok and as a substitute to saying 'thank you.' Lilith knew that Liam would know what she meant by the simple movement of her head.

Remembering the pie she had stolen, and which had caused her to trip, she looked to where it had fallen. However, the boy she had stolen the pie from was shoving the rest in his mouth. She gawked at him. First of all, she was surprised he had dared to come near her and Liam since the two were older. Lilith didn't look Liam's age, but in fact she was. Second, she was surprised that the younger boy could fit the rest of the slice in his mouth. His cheeks puffed up, filled with the deliciousness that was the slice of pie. Of course, Lilith never got to taste it so she could only assume that it was delicious.

The boy managed to swallow the pie and looked at them, the emotion on his face shifting from happiness to concern. He apologized about not sharing the pie, though Lilith knew that she should really be the one apologizing for trying to steal it. However, she could not convey this to the boy orally. He asked if she was ok, to which she nodded. A few scrapes on her hands, but after she washed them off they would be fine.

The purple haired girl pulled a small paper tablet out of her pocket, followed by a small pencil. I'm sorry for taking your pie, she wrote on it, showing it to Elet. She considered telling him that she hadn't eaten today, but it didn't seem like she should. Either it would sound like an excuse or the poor boy would feel guiltier than he already appeared to feel. Instead, she added, My name is Lilith. Liam could introduce himself.

Jason

Jason was about to step off of the sidewalk when he heard a young woman's voice beside him. He physically jumped a bit, not expecting someone to talk to him. He hadn't heard her approaching. The boy turned to look at her, taking in her unique appearance. Though he had seen some strange hairstyles before, he had never seen someone who seemed to have perfectly split black and white hair. It was as if she was born with it. He figured she must have gone to a very expensive salon to have it dyed so neatly.

The teenager also noticed two blue dragon scales sticking out of her hair. He was no expert in fashion, but he figured they were decorative. It made him a bit scared of her, realizing that the scales were of course from a dead dragon. Poor dragon. It had probably tried to kill her. Yet the humans were also killing the dragons.

The young woman informed him that he was going the wrong way. She also reminded him that he had been carrying the grocery list in his hands. How long had he been holding onto it? Jason couldn't remember, just as he couldn't remember where the darn grocery store was. But it seemed that this lady could help him.

"I have no idea which way to go," he admitted to her, though she already knew this. However, he was hopeful that she could help him. "Which way should I be going?"

Liam

Liam smiled down at Lilith, the height difference between the two rather making them quite the pair, as the lanky boy stood at a whopping six foot three. "Glad you're okay," he said, noticing the blood but knowing the girl was plenty tough enough to handle a few scrapes. She looked over at something and her eyes went wide, catching Liam's curiosity. He looked up just in time to see most of a slice of pie disappear into the mouth of a young boy. "Jeez how did he even..." he muttered. Putting two and two together though, he figured this is why Lilith had been running and tripped, she probably had tried to take the pie from the kid.

Immediately though, the kid started to look apologetic. "I... I am sorry. I should have shared it with you." He took a few steps closer and looked worriedly at Lilith. "Umm... Are.. Are you okay?"

Lilith pulled out her paper and pencil to scribble him notes, and Liam broke a bit of a smile. "Hey kid, don't worry about it. Lilith here is a tough cookie," jokingly, he gave the girl a small noogie on the head. "You look pretty hungry yourself, especially if you can stuff a whole pie in your mouth. I'm Liam, by the way." Looking the boy up and down, it wasn't hard to tell the kid was a street rat too. He had an eye for these things, since he was technically the leader of a band of homeless kid thieves. "Jeez you got parents to feed ya or are you wandering the streets like us?"

Akhira

Akhira registered the look of shock on the Nestling`s face as if not expecting anyone to help him. A feeling that Akhira shared as she hadn't realized she said those words aloud to him until it was too late. She hadn't expected the sight of this lost human nestling to strike something inside her chest. A feeling she found unwelcome.

Surprisingly, once he saw her scales, he didn't look approvingly at them like some humans did as they often thought she was a dragon slayer. A theory she had spread by mouth herself. He instead seemed fearful and even a tiny tad disgusted by them. Perhaps, he likes... No, she could not allow herself to think that. All humans hated her kind, and to even doubt this one's perspective on it was pointless and dangerous. He was a human, humans lied, cheated, and killed their own kind, even members of their own families. They were not to be trusted.

"I have no idea which way to go," he admitted to her, though she already knew this. However, he was hopeful that she could help him. "Which way should I be going?"

What the hell am I doing? Akhira asked herself, and got no reply. She hissed softly, nearly silently at herself as she spied a group of male humans standing in the shadow of a building. They looked to be the same age as this lost one, but instead, the air they gave off was that of scavengers. Scavengers that had their sights on her lost nestling. She silently groaned at her bad decision.

"I guess fate is smiling upon you today. I'm also going grocery shopping today. Come on, I'll lead you." Akhira stepped around Jason and grabbed his arm by the sleeve of his jacket and turned him around, glaring daggers at the group of thugs as she took him away from the disastrous mistake of walking their way.

As she led him along she was careful not to allow her skin to come into contact with his. No matter how much pity and sympathy this human instilled in her, she would never allow him to touch her. Yet, another surprise for her was that despite the voice telling her that this was against her warrior's instincts, she found it easy and almost natural to be pulling Jason around. Almost...

Akhira immediately let go of his sleeve when they got to the entrance of the store. "Here you are," she didn`t smile, "I'll be on my way now." She left him to find the cure to this disease called hunger.

Several minutes later....

Why the hell is this so difficult?! Akhira was beginning to lose patience with her situation as she apologized to the manager for busting a second watermelon. How could she have even known watermelons were fragile?

After paying for both busted watermelons, she made her way to a section where all the food was in cans. She went to grab one can of chicken soup off the shelf when she saw another type of chicken soup. Both were labeled chicken soup yet, they were priced differently. Confused, she asked herself, "Which do I choose? What's the difference?" Frustrated at her inability to choose which, she groaned, just as her stomach growled. She accidentally tighted her grip on the can and... it busted. "Curses..."

Elet looked at the two strangers and tensed when he saw the girl reach for her pocket. What was she going to pull out? Something to hurt him with? When he saw the pad of paper and the pen, he tilted his head to the side intrigued. What was this? He moved closer to investigate then and saw her scribbling something on the paper and then show it to him. He looked at the words but he couldn't understand them. He hadn't learned how to read or write so those words were just lines on a paper to him. He looked at the girl and blushed lightly. He didn't want to admit he was inept at this but how else would he explain that he couldn't read the note? Maybe she could teach him.

He glanced at the older and much bigger male beside her then. Liam and Lilith. Those were some really cool names. "Hi Liam and Lilith. I am Elet. And.. umm.. I am sorry but I can't read. I never learned how," he explained. "And I..." should he lie to them and say he didn't have parents like he did with the nice pie lady? It didn't feel right but he couldn't tell them about his dragon family. "I don't have parents..." he said softly "I am wandering around here really. You guys live on the street to?" he asked then just to ensure he understood correctly. "Where do you normally get your food? I usually search trashcans," he answered.

Lilith

Lilith was surprised by Liam's sudden touch as he noogied her lightly. She could remember the first time he had done so, when he hadn't been as gentle. The poor girl had lost her balance and fallen over afterwards, leading to Liam's gentler treatment of her. Of course, she could probably be knocked over by Elet quite easily as well. It really didn't take that much force to push her over due to her small size.

She noticed Elet's face flush after she had extended the notepad towards him. Perhaps he couldn't read? If so, the own ways to communicate with him were through her actions or through Liam. Both could lead to misinterpretations. Her suspicion was confirmed once Elet introduced himself, apologizing that he couldn't read her note. Lilith was in no way offended, as she understood that not every human could read. She had been fortunate to live in an orphanage which gave the children education.

Elet mentioned that he had no parents, just like the purple haired girl and red haired boy. Both could understand the life he must live, scavenging for food and being chased by humans. It wasn't the best life there was, but it was the one they knew.

The younger boy asked in what manner they acquired food. Lilith was fortunate enough that she could easily get through the walls of the city due to her size. Most of her meals came from outside the city, while hunting in her dragon form. However, telling either of the boys that would likely lead to her death. So instead of admitting she ate most of her meals as the humans' enemy, she looked to Liam to explain. The two had similar lifestyles when it came to getting food-- a preference to stealing over scavenging.

Her light purple eyes, which most humans identified as being colored contacts or a tint of blue, came to rest back on Elet. Having time to take in his features, she noticed his bright green eyes. They were an interesting pairing to his hair. In fact, the colour of his hair was a darker shade of Lilith's own. She couldn't help but wonder if he had been born with coloured hair, or had managed to dye it like humans did sometimes. Had he been born with it, would that mean that he was like her?

The idea was as exciting as it was startling. However, she wouldn't say anything to him (or rather to Liam, since Elet was unable to read) about it. With the way humans thought, one could not just ask another if they were a dragon. If you even mentioned the word, a tone of violence and hatred would crawl into a human's voice. For this reason, she refrained from making contact with those outside of her very limited comfort zone.

Jason

The young woman grabbed Jason's arm by his jacket sleeve, leading him to the store. It was a bit odd, but he supposed she was one of those people who didn't like to touch other's skin. He could understand being weary of the germs that lived on other people, and so he thought nothing else of it.

The two made there way to the store, which Jason would not have found this quickly without Akhira's help. She released his sleeve as soon as they arrived at the entrance. Without a smile, she bid him farewell. Again, it was a bit odd but Jason had seen stranger things. After all, he lived in a world where kids as old as him or even younger would smash in a small dragon's head for fun. The though made him frown as he proceeded into the store.

Fortunately for the teen, his mother always organized her grocery list by aisle. Starting in the first aisle, he snaked his way through the store with his cart. He grabbed what he needed, knowing the brands that his mother preferred. Once Jason was physically in the store, he was able to navigate it quite well. He just had trouble getting to it.

After several minutes of collecting the items he needed, he came to the aisle where the canned foods were. Here, he found the same young woman as before. She was looking at the stacks of chicken noodle soup. Jason could tell that she was confused, just as he would be if he didn't know what he was looking for. He pushed his cart forward, ready to offer her his help. Even though he was intimidated by her, he would still assist her in any way he could.

As he walked towards her, he eyes the two blue scales in her hair. They were fascinating to him, coming from a dragon larger than he had ever and probably would ever see. He had only encountered a few small, non-sentient dragons near his home. He couldn't help but be transfixed by them, wondering how big the dragon had been before she killed it.

His thoughts of dragons were forgotten when he heard a small pop. Akhira had managed to crush the can, the broth flowing out of it and onto her hand. It dripped onto the floor. "Curses..." she mumbled.

Jason's fear of her was renewed. She was obviously much stronger than he had expected. He quickly accredited this to her presumed profession. Still, it was intimidating knowing she was stronger than the guys who liked to beat him up. She could likely strangle him right now if she chose to do so. He really hoped she didn't.

"Uh, you're probably going to have to pay for that," he told her, unaware that she knew this from recent experience. His hands went to his pockets, searching for a spare napkin or two that she could use to wipe off her hand. Lucky for her, he had one in his left pocket. Jason held it out to her. "Here, this should get some of the soup off of your hands." He offered a smile, showing that he was sincerely trying to help her out.

(OOC: I'm in a bit of rush so I will just say that I'll probably be adding another character, a human one, as I think the dragons outnumber the humans... Not including NPC humans I mean)

Akhira

Akhira hadn't noticed the human Nestling was beside her until he spoke up, "Uh, you're probably going to have to pay for that." Don't I know it. She wanted to roll her eyes, or yet, blow out smoke her from nose to signify how frustrated she felt at the moment, but she didn't. She restrained her draconic instincts and turned to look him in the eyes, trying hard not to let her stoic mask fall. Something's off about him now...

"Here, this should get some of the soup off of your hands." To her utmost surprise, the human Nestling held out a napkin to her. She couldn't help but stare at him, he's offering me a napkin? W-What? Akhira blinked slowly, finding her mask of indifference to show complete surprise. "Oh! Um, yes, thanks." She shook herself out of her amazement, taking the napkin to wipe her hands as well as any splatters that got onto her clothing.

Despite acting like a total space cadet just recently, Akhira noticed that the 'something different' about him now was that he was afraid. Hmmm. I guess I scared him... Maybe I should offer a lie about my strength, tell him I mean him no harm. Yet, she said nothing of that sort other then uttering another thanks for the napkin. No, it's probably best he be afraid of me anyways.

When she was done wiping off her hands, she finally smelt it. Food, delicious food, she sighed deeply at her foolishness, and I wasted it.

Akhira looked back up at Jason, "I'm sorry, but may I ask you what your name is?"

Re: Drakospeda

Yes, a remake sounds good. Although someone should post the url here so that I don't have to go about searching dusty old files to find it, when it is made of course... :)

Re: Drakospeda

A remake sounds like a good idea to me.

Re: Drakospeda

I am not quite sure what to say though. Lilith so they are kind of just standing there. I feel like there are only three of us still in the rp since everyone else hasn't said anything or posted lately. How about we just remake this rp for a smaller group or just remake this rp entirely? It has lost its fire.

Re: Drakospeda

Well it seems that Evenir hasn't been on for a few weeks, so if we are going to continue this without them then it would make sense for you to post. :)

Re: Drakospeda

Waiting for me? I am sorry! I was waiting for Evenir to post with Liam since they haven't responded to the situation. I'll post tomorrow.

Re: Drakospeda

I was going to wait for FaddedFox to post so I could post for both Lilith and Jason.

Re: Drakospeda

Happy Thanksgiving! And I guess someone should post then, if we are gonna continue without the GM's character.....

Re: Drakospeda

I don't want this to die. :( But the only way to continue is without the GM's character.

Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone as well.

Re: Drakospeda

I feel like it has died :(

Well, it is Thanksgiving tomorrow, so happy Thanksgiving to everyone :3.

Re: Drakospeda

I've also been stalking the RP...

Re: Drakospeda

I'm still here. I thought it would be rude to post again so I've just been lurking.

Image

Re: Drakospeda

ano... is everyone still here? Maybe I am just anxious but I haven't seen anyone posting in a while or saying anything in OOC :(

Re: Drakospeda

I submitted a male human who is aligned to the humans. Just wanted to let you know.

Re: Drakospeda

@SlightlyInsane - It is totally fine! I look forward to their interaction. ^^

Re: Drakospeda

It's fine. He has no idea what he's doing so he probably forgot he was holding the list. XD He's meant to be a confused little derp.

Re: Drakospeda

@SlightlyInsane
I apologize for the whole adding a grocery list to Jason, but as I was only allowed to be on the computer for ten minutes and I had a bit of writer's block...

So, yay for Akhira's first post, but wahwahwahn for it's crappiness, which I will soon, hopefully, edit out.

Re: Drakospeda

Woo! Sorry if I took a bit on getting to that character sheet, I was out camping for a few days. Feel free to hop in!

Also apologies on the back and forth ^^U I got a bit excited to start. I think Liam is going to split eventually and try to catch up with some others as well. Also I need to get Danny going >>

Re: Drakospeda

Okay!!! Finished Akhira's character sheet!!! :D

Re: Drakospeda

Okay! My character is slightly finished, and I think I should be able to finish her entirely by the end of today! :)

Re: Drakospeda

Posted. :) Sorry that Lilith stole Elet's pie. She was hungry and I couldn't think of another way to interact with him since she can't talk.

Also, any of the characters who have not gotten involved yet can feel free to interact with Jason. If not, he'll just be wandering until he finds the grocery store. Finally, any of the peace aligned dragons are welcome to be the one who helped him out a couple of years ago.
