"You missed a spot! I don't want to see your pretty little face again until the entire floor is clean!" The man practically barked out his orders at Heaven, snatching her up by her wrist--hard enough to leave a bruise, and throwing her down to the filthy linoleum floor of the kitchen. Heaven nodded her head, chocolate brown hair falling in her eyes, and started vigorously rubbed the stain on the floor. She cast a glance backwards at the door when she was sure that the cook had left. She stopped and looked at her wrist, which was sore and already showing signs of bruising from being man-handled all day. She didn't dare stop for too long, should the man come back and see her sitting idle, surely he would do something much worse to her. The thought kept her working everyday, she was terrified to think of the greater evils that would plague her if she ever tried to disobey her orders. She herself was a diligent worker, but she knew from experience that some of the other orphans weren't as willing to follow the rules, and received horrific punishments for it.

"Just one more year and I'll be able to leave this hellhole." It was true, less than five days ago she turned seventeen, once she was eighteen she could leave and live her own life outside of the cold iron gates that caged in the orphanage. She feared she wouldn't survive that long though, even if she did follow every rule and order that was given to her. If only her parents hadn't died on her. She sighed, it was a hopeless thought. How could they have controlled the freak accident? They were gone now and Heaven wasn't going to torture herself with memories of their tragic deaths. She shook off the chill creeping up her spine and got back to work. Once she was done cleaning the entire kitchen by herself she made sure everything was put away and quietly went back to her room. It was her own little sanctuary, away from the abuse and constant sadness of the dark building. The room itself wasn't magnificent in any way, but once she closed the door and drowned out all of the noise, Heaven found herself in a more peaceful place.

She sat on her bed and pulled out a dusty sketch book that she'd used over the years. Inside she drew pictures of what she invisioned as her own world, one where she made the rules and was free to do whatever she pleased without being punished for it. Flowers everywhere, green grass, crystal clear oceans and lakes, extravagant buildings with no inhabitants. She never drew people, she was convinced she could live a happy life without them. What had they done for her besides cause pain and misery? She did imagine her two friends would be there, Requiem and Alie. They both lived at Wynbran too so they knew of it's horrors and scary rooms. Things would be perfect if they were there too. They could all laugh and have all the fun they wanted.

Heaven found herself struggling to stay awake. It was dark and rainy outside but she imagined it was getting late, her eyelids drooped and eventually she drifted off to sleep. She normally dreamed whenever she fell asleep, but this time something unusual had ocurred. She was standing on a sandy beach at the edge of the tide. When a large wave crashed down it splashed her with water and she felt it. She could feel the sun heat up her skin, the breeze as it tossed the skirt of her white dress around. You weren't supposed to actually feel in dreams were you? Or semll? Because Heaven sure could inhale the smell of salty seawater. "Where am I?" She turned around in a complete circle then went further into the water, it was definitely cold. "What's going on?" Something both wonderful and frightening had happened.

Alie woke up to someone violently shaking her. "Wake up you little brat, it's time to do your chores!" She reluctantly sat up and walked over to scratched up wooden dresser and grabbed a pair of jogging pants and a hoodie. Outside in the hallway she stood in a line of other kids waiting for the bathroom to free up. She hated doing this routine every single day of her teenage life. She wished she could just get away from it all somehow. There was no apparent way for her to leave, she had no relatives to live with so she was stuck at Wynbran. Finally she got into the bathroom, but she only had five minutes of privacy before one of the staff members barged in the room to tell her she was taking up too much time.

Going back to her room she put her pajamas away and began her daily chores. First would be mopping the foyer and dining room floors, then dusting the lamp shades and blinds throughout half of the first floor of the building, lastly she had to help do some of the laundry with three other girls her age. While she was carrying a load of laundry, one of the staff members collided with her and knocked the basket clean out of her arms then looked at her with disgust. "You best be pickin' up every last piece of clothing and washing them again!" The man picked her up by her forearm and shoved her back into the laundry room, tossing all of the clothes back with her. It was times like this that made her happy she was turning eighteen in two years. She would rather be homeless than stuck at Wynbran.

She felt bad for the younger kids that would have to endure the torture of the staff, but there wasn't anything she could think to do about it other than get as far away as possible. Her chores were done for the day, and after a stale snack she was off to her room for bed. She quickly changed in her room when no one else was in there, not bothering with waiting for the bathroom again, and soon collapsed on her bed. It wasn't soft or very comfortable but it felt better than lugging heavy things around the house all day. Only two things made her happy about being at Wynbran, Heaven and Requiem, and being able to rest every once in a while. She dozed off into a deep sleep and started dreaming. When she opened her eyes she was laying in tall grass surrounded by wild flowers and a lake off in the distance. She thought she could hear ocean water too.

Alie rubbed her eyes, believing everything to be some teasing illusion. She ran her hand over the grass though, and actually felt its rough touch. She giggled as she stood up and smelled the fresh air, starting to jog through the flowers. Whatever this place was, she loved it.

It was a shove in the back, a hard broom stick slamming into her spine as she almost fell forward, but Requiem caught herself with her feet as she rolled her shoulders and saw one of the staff glaring at her, shoving a broom stick in her face. Requiem's face was serious and cold as she stared at the staff member; and this only got her a slap in the face that made her tumble into the wall. "Give me that dirty look again and it will be a punch to your gut. Now get sweeping." the staff lady snapped at her with a vile and ungrateful voice. Requiem waited until the woman was walking away, and she would only stick her tongue out at the lady's back and then she started to sweep the broken glass and dust bunnies away from where a girl had dropped her glass earlier. Requiem snorted slightly;for she had a rough temper and she picked up all the broken pieces into a dust pan and dumped them in the trash.

"Requiem! Get your butt over here!" Requiem would sigh as she walked into another room, seeing a girl had dropped a bunch of bowls on the ground. Requiem could only watch as the giant heavy staff member slammed her hand onto the girl's cheeks a few times. The girl was on the ground, crying with red cheeks and a bloody nose until she finally was allowed to get up and run away. A man then shoved Requiem forward. She bent down onto the ground with a sigh and began to clean up the glass, throwing it into the trashcan they slammed beside her. Requiem hated doing all this crap; this was an orphanage. It wasn't supposed to be a slave house. But it sure seemed like it was; every day and night. She was mostly used to the grueling chores and rude behavior of these women and men that treated the girls of the orphanage like they were servants.

Finally; after she cleaned up three more messes, she was aloud to go to sleep. She would throw the broom in the closet, giving one of the ladies a mean look but the lady didn't come after her, she was too fat and lazy. Requiem would walk up the stairs and she walked into the bathroom, making sure that her teeth were brushed nicely and she took her hair down, letting the long red curls drop to her mid back and she brushed it out. She washed the sweat off her face, her arm muscles sore from moving around all day long. Once she was ready, Requiem walked into her room, sitting down on the small bed and taking off her flat shoes. She would put on her nightgown, a dark blue colored nightgown and a pair of shorts underneath since she never trusted any of the male staff here. Requiem then would collapse on her bed, making sure the door was closed and she pulled her blankets over her, staring out the window next to her bed up at the moon and the bright clear sky with stars twinkling across the deep dark blue.

Requiem soon found herself asleep, a black swirling portal emerging her into this restful slumber. But then, as her eyes opened... she wasn't in her orphan room anymore. she was standing by a tree on a grassy hill, staring out at the blue ocean and staring at the sand below the hill. She leaned against the tree, and she looked around and saw the sunset in the distance, giving off bright colors of many shooting across the sky and the water. It was... beautiful. Simply beautiful. She smelled the salty air in her nose, and she could hear the waves splashing and the gulls crying above. How could she hear or smell? How could she think? Was this real? No.... it had to be a dream. But how could a dream feel so real? It didn't make sense. But Requiem knew... she needed to enjoy it while it lasted. It was certainly better then where she was previously at.

Requiem looked to the tree and saw a swing there. She slowly walked over, her bare feet stepping over green grass as she got onto the swing and started to push herself back and forth through the air, her hair flying through the wind as she smiled softly to herself. Her green eyes shot to the sunset, admiring it's beauty and the warm air fluttered across her creamy skin. This... was the place to be. And she was going to enjoy it.

Cris was.
That's how it happened, first he wasn't there, then he was. He culminated out of the darkness, the troughs between the waves where the sun didn't shine. He stood above the waves, just on the air.
The sunlight irritated him, but it was almost gone. As the sun dropped he could see his skin and flesh slowly taking on more substance. He grinned a toothy, predatory smile. This was his domain, the darkness. He willed the sun to drop, and it did, in an instant. He stood, in near complete darkness, the wind whipping his hair back behind his head and playing with the long edges of his black trench coat. He took an experimental step, he willed it so that he didn't fall into the water. He looked around, in a bay on the ocean. Gulls soared in the sky, they banked and dove through the retreating sunlight, then they were gone. They sensed his presence. He also sensed a presence, a powerful one.
A grassy hill stood nearby. On the hill was a girl. He knew the girl from somewhere, he wasn't sure where. Something drew him towards her, an attraction that he had never felt before, mostly because this is the first time he had ever felt anything. But never the less, he walked towards her, and when he walked the shadows from where ever they were drew themselves together to be with him. He was like a magnet to the night. It congregated around him like water in a depression in the ground.
He continued to walk across the water, approaching the girl slowly as he had materialized a way out at sea, but he slowly gained speed, coming upon the hill faster and faster, he was covering upwards of twenty feet at one step now, as if he was wearing seven league boots instead of his generic clunky combat boots. The necklaces around his neck swayed with the movement and his hair began to collect droplets of sea foam...he continued to advance

Requiem continued to swing back and forth, staring at the sun as it suddenly started to go down. She would tilt her head, still entranced by the beautiful colors it left behind as it sank into the horizon and burst up into the sky. She would sigh happily, looking down at the grass below her feet as the wind continued to blow her hair around. But then she watched as the colors started to fade, and her eyes went slightly wide. She had come when night was falling; when darkness fell upon the world.

She would hop off the swing quickly, digging around in her pocket and she pulled out a silver flashlight, medium sized with a bright large bulb inside of it. She kept it off since the light wasn't entirely gone, but she looked around, wondering where she should head off to. Were her friends here as well? Or was she alone in this mysterious dream land? Requiem would bite her lower lip as she walked across the grass and she noticed her flats sitting a ways away from her. She walked over, slipping her feet into them and then she huffed and she looked down at her bare legs, the wind blowing the nightgown around. It had tang-top sleeves, and a low cut front and it stopped just below her knees. The color of blue; with a ribbon on the front, it was a simple nightgown made of a soft material.

Requiem glanced back at the swing. This would be her land mark; for if she got lost, she knew this was the way she had come from. She started to walk away from the ocean as the sky was slowly turning to night, her eyes straining to see as the minutes flew by. Any minute, she'd have to click on her flashlight and hope she found somewhere to hide in. Or her fear would overcome her.

Cris' foot hit sand. A solid thunk that resonated through his footwear. He took an unsteady step, a normal length this time, and started to move up the beach. He climbed the sand, and all of a sudden met grass. The hill was a little ways off, the tree with the swing sitting happily atop...and the girl disappearing down the other side of the hill. His face bunched up into a quizzical face, why was he chasing her? He didn't know the answer, but he started to walk again. His heavy coat swaying with the movements of his legs. He tugged at the collar of his shirt, it was heavy and thick, good clothing for the cold night. He advanced more steadily this time, slowly upwards.
He reached the top of the hill, he saw the girl slowly making her way down. His hand touched the tree, and where he touched the bark slowly took on a gray pallor. His mind began to calculate, where was she going? She isn't dressed for this weather! Has she been here before? Why do I feel like I must follow her? What's going on here? Probably just another phantasm for me to deal with. Oh well, he sighed, may as well just get it over with.
"Hey!" He called out from the top of the hill, his voice ringing through the oncoming night, the only sound, slicing the silence like a scythe through a field of wheat.

"Hey!"

Requiem instantly jumped, her stomach flipping as she turned the flashlight on and swung it toward the direction of the voice. Her hands were shaking and so were her legs as the wind started to blow faster and she stared at his appearance, the stars starting to come into view into the sky. As she stared at him, her eyes grew wider. A feeling in her gut... told her to run. To flee. He didn't look safe; dressed in black, with bright eyes that made her own soul shiver.

She opened her mouth but nothing came. She instantly turned and started to spring as fast as she could, staying away from the bush of woods to her right and prancing across the field with heavy footsteps and her legs moving quickly and bending with an elegant and quick force. Her hair whipped around in the cool night air as she kept running and she dove behind a rock, sitting behind it and shaking as she struggled to catch her breath but not make any noise.

She wanted to wake up now. She then realized the flashlight was on and she quickly turned it off, tucking it under her arms as she tried to stay still and silent, hoping the man who had seen her would just walk by her and forget he had seen her.

A beam of light cut across the dark at Cris' face

Cris Flinched as the light hit his eyes, but then the girl started to run. In the dark no less. His mind began to calculate possibilities again. Was she afraid of the dark? At this possibility his mouth turned up in a sadistic smile. It was a little pleasure of his to make things go 'bump!' Maybe he would demonstrate his skill. He took a step towards where the girl was going, her light floating off into the darkness...then it was cut out.
Cris smiled, that couldn't stop him. he closed his eyes, and when he opened them it was as if it was as bright as day. His pupil filled the entire open space of his eyes, making a dark hole where his eye should be, he began to run after her. His boots clunking up and down. Then he stopped, his eyes twisted in thought...
And he was in front of her, she barreled into his chest, but he didn't even flinch, "Why do you run from me?" He asked, a slight growl coming through under his breath, his mouth curled to a wicked point in what could have been an evil excuse for a smile.

[Last post for the night. Sorry if we posted too much. Don't want to leave anyone behind >_< Or make anyone read a bunch. But... we kinda got into it xD]

"Why do you run from me?" He asked,

When Requiem slammed into his chest, she fell backwards onto the ground and she stared up at him. She shined the flashlight into his face, staring at he sadistic smile on his lips. She opened her mouth again, but it was hard to make anything come out. She shined the flashlight all around quickly before pointing it back up at him and her heart again told her to run. RUN, REQUIEM... RUN! But her legs were frozen and her stomach was tightening up. She slowly got up, staring up at him.

"You're... dangerous." was the only thing that could come out of Requiem's mouth. "You're a stranger." she said but then she shined the light to her left as she thought she could hear the sounds of footsteps that made her jump. She then shined the light back up at the man and she bit her lip, taking one step back... and then another. There had to be other people here... there had to be. Maybe if she yelled in her sleep, she could yell in real life.

"Heaven! Alie!" she yelled out, her eyes not moving from the strange dark man in front of her. She kept the light shined on him, her eyes staring at his face before she took a few more steps backwards and kept backing away from him. She hoped her friends could hear her; wherever they were. Either they could hear her... or she was alone in this strange world. That was slowly turning into a strange nightmare.

#, as written by aesir
Nighttime. It carried sounds - subtle, yet wonderful - that were privy to those who knew how to listen for them. The song of shelter offered to those who hated the waking world, a promise of fantasy, of a world without rules to those who were sick of them, where one could finally be alone, or with loved ones, even if they were no longer alive; the answering note, pulsing with life, of those souls who sought its blinding embrace, the desperate plea sung by the oppressed, the weak, and the exhausted. This was joined by the epitaph of midnight, the lurking shadows that could only exist in the absolute void of light, where darkness played in earnest and things that wished to remain hidden could travel almost freely; intoned within were the umbras of horror, not quite human or anything but, sending unseen smiles of daggers that thrived in the nothing of night. It all played quite the wonderful symphony, if you knew how to listen. There was one person - if you could still call him that - who enjoyed nighttime very much for this reason. Every night, the melody changed or the song varied, but it was always lovely. Staccato screams that pierced through the sound were like masterful crescendos, erupting in splendour.

Something disrupted the song, tonight. There was a pull, like the moon on the tide, that dragged him from his rest and drew him towards something he had not expected. A human seemed to be creating her own space - no, not one, but three, together in harmony. This was highly unusual. These girls must be something quite special. He floated in the nothingness, watching the slow smiles come to them as they discovered their little playground. Unusual indeed, though actually quite boring. He preferred squeezing screams out of th-- But wait. What was this? He had almost passed over her entirely, but here was a girl who stood at the edge of the water. She was a single, vibrant note hanging above the peasant drumming below her. She guarded her soul well, but her defenses were no match for his experience - he saw right through her, and her fear was absolutely delicious. His smile was uncanny.

As the sun set and darkness fell over the ocean, the beauty of the water lit only by the stars was immeasurable. The waves themselves seemed to shimmer with light, as though they had soaked up the sun's rays during the day and were now echoing them with a quiet, aquatic sonata. There was so little noise out here, but for the waves gently lapping at the shore, and at Heaven's feet, burbling around her toes with happy contentedness. The near-silence was soon sundered by splashes off to Heaven's right. There seemed to be a line of tiny, localized disruptions in the water that were leading ahead of Heaven and past her, as if someone small were running along the coast, but there was clearly no one there. As they grew closer, it would become obvious that there was a second line, as small as the first, seemingly chasing after the first one. Once they had almost reached her, there was a giggle which quite clearly rang through the air, a child's laughter that bubbled out of nothing and reverberated in an unearthly cadence, in a way that was clearly inhuman. Soon after, there seemed to be images coalescing above the splashes. The light emanating from the waves seemed to be bouncing off figures which were apparently leaving the splashes, but it was wrong and distorted, as if their skin was not quite whole, and made of glass. They were children, a boy chasing a girl, both looking straight ahead. The girl threw her head back and laughed once more, and the boy let out a playful little shriek as he gained on her, which also echoed in Heaven's ears, hollow and unliving. Just as they passed Heaven, the boy caught up to the girl, and he reached out as if to grab her. As his fingers touched the back of the flowing dress made from reflected light, they froze mid-stride, and the boy's head was suddenly turned directly at Heaven - he had not turned it to face her, it was simply staring right at her, now. The reflected light was quite clear in that one split second, and it was very obvious that half of his entire face and neck and possibly extending further down, she could not see - the half that had been facing the open ocean - was nothing but bone and sinew. There was no skin to cover it. That frozen tableau lasted only the briefest of moments before the apparitions vanished, sound, splashes, and all.

A few moments later, a soft light shimmered into existence off to her right. It was about 30 feet away, and soon it was quite clearly a woman, sitting at something dark. She was wearing a white, flowing dress and had long, lovely brown hair that seemed for some reason to be longer on her left side than her right. The woman exuded the very essence of comfort, and calm, and Heaven would know, in the purity of dream knowledge, that anyone around her would be safe. She lifted her hands, and music started to drift over the beach. The dark thing she was sitting at was a piano, and she was playing.

Yui opened his blue eye to an unforgiving bright sun. Almost scrambling he hid under a tree. Looking out into the...well, world? It was then that he realized, he had no memory of anything from his past, wait did he even have a past, he had to right? He knew things, he knew words and..."Word." Yui tested his speech. He knew how to talk too, he knew things, but wasn't sure of what he ...was.

Getting up, he decided to take in the surroundings around him, the lush green grass, as well as the trees, the forest with no end in sight. Vast fields of flowers and things floating in the air. All of this brightness, made him sick, sick to his stomach. he grumbled and stayed under the tree, until well he almost nodded off and an image came to his head. A young girl, short with fair skin, purple hair, soft and long, and her eyes they were...empty, and blood seeped out of them. After this Image Yui jolted to an upright position.

"Who was that..." Yui asked the question to no one in particular, but why was he seeing this mutilated girl, and it was almost as if it called to him, to mutilate her, it was then that he realized, his own right eye, was gone. His hand ran across the bandage, and almost instantly the image of the girl popped back into his head, this time though, it wasn't just her eyes her whole body, was twisted, why did he know this? The grip on his head tightened. Her body spilled blood everywhere, one of her arms were gone and her legs as well.

"Make it...stop."

By now he was holding his head both both of his hands, his good eye wide with insanity. For the last time the image of the girl came into his head, sliced and cut and strangled, and with a sharp pain in his right eye, he was back to sitting under the tree. Yui's chest was heaving, and his hands were shaking, and blood? Yui reached up and touched his right eye and he could feel it leaking through. He looked as the thickened red substance on his hand before licking it. It had a sweet and bitter taste to it, one that he enjoyed. He almost didn't notice the darkness come, until he realized, that the moon was reflecting off his skin.

Using the tree, Yui managed to stand up, for the first time, he noticed his clothes and the rest of his body. He had on an open straight jacket. it had belts on it as well has hooks and chains hanging off the sleeves, at first glance, when he put his arms down the sleeves covered his hands. His pants where of the same fashion, except they were white, and his feet, bare. He stumbled out from under the tree, not having any particular destination, but having the urge to get somewhere.

The grass and sand felt good on his feet, he wiggled his toes to get a better feeling. Digging his feet even more into the ground, it was cold and moist. A slight smile came across his face, as if Yui had found some sort of peace. After a short while he continued walking until he found a beach of some sorts, to be truthful, he looked like a lost child. He walked over to the rushing liquid, sticking his foot out, Yui nudged the water. It was cool to the touch and left his foot felling a cool and tingly sensation. Yui cocked his head to the side, he knew what this was called too. "Water...and earlier....that was blood." Yui was baffled with his sudden knowledge.

It was then that he heard a giggle. At first it scared him, he turned around with a frightened look on his face. Would this new person know him, would they bring answers? He felt his heart being tugging it that direction so he followed the noise, and the more he heard it the faster he went, it was is if this was his only outlet. Finally stopping at the edge of the forest he saw a vast plain, filled with flowers, the moon made them all look the same color, so he didn't pay much attention. Yui frantically searched, his eyeball twitching in every direction, until his eye landed on a girl. "...Harmless." he said. Watching her from afar put him at ease for some reason.

She seemed so carefree and her hair looked almost blue in the moonlight. He took a step forward and this feeling of serenity ended. He caught a glimpse of her face. Yui whimpered as his eye started to throb through the bandage. It was as if the bandage itself was trying to come off. All he could hear was static in his ears, as the color drained from the world around, now all he could see was negative and there was blood everywhere. Falling to his knees he growled, it was almost inhuman, blood leaking from one eye and tears from the other, looking back up, he saw the girl, except this time, the girl wasn't as beautiful as before, her eyes were missing, her mouth a gaping slash that revealed sharp teeth. Her arm was half hanging off and the other missing completely. The same girl as before.

'Where did she go?!'

Yui just wanted to see the girl one last time. With one last sharp pain everything went black. Yui sat still for a few seconds before raising his head. Only this time, the bandage had switched sides, for the first time revealing what was under it. A bloody eye socket witch a slash across it. This, was, as you would say, Ex-Yui. A sadistic smile spread across his face as he looked at the girl. Quite sure she had noticed him. It didn't matter now though, all he wanted was her blood, just to cut her up, tearing her skin off, it all just seemed so right to him. In one powerful burst of speed he ran towards the girl, his legs carrying him faster then most. With each step it carried him closer to the girl, and with a leap he could reach her.

Grabbing her arm he could feel his hand meet with her warm pulsing flesh. Instantly he dug his nails into her, letting out what sounded like a feral moan. With his other hand he tried to reach out again, but this time his face met with her, that pure fear in her eyes. He yelled out in pain again. This time, he blinked his eye, as there were tears flowing down his cheek. Yui looked up at the girl, the same girl he saw before, but this time, her face was full of fear, and agony, and his hand had her blood on it. He was confused, what had happened? Looking up at the girl he started to shake. "Help...me?"

Alie loved the feel of the grass and the flowers. She couldn't figure out were the ocean air was coming from, but she didn't care about that at the moment. She just laid there and enjoyed the sunny day. It seemed like in a matter of seconds the sky started getting dark, and she could hear a faint scream in the distance. When she sat up there was a man in the distance looking at her. She started to panic as the man kept getting closer and closer. She could finally see his bandage eye which had blood on it.

Lost for words she started to try and move backwards. She wasn't able to stand from all of the fear she was in. "S-stay away from me..." She lost her breath as she kept trying to get away from him. Finally he was able to grab her arm and he pulled her up. She was fear stricken when she saw the blood on his eye. Her body started to shake as she looked at him, then she saw his other eye that wasn't wrapped, and he was crying. Alie looked down and saw her own arm bleeding. "Please if you let me go I can help you!"

She was in total fear now and as she felt her blood running down her arm. She started to cry as she tried to get out of his grip. Finally she got free of his grip and stepped back away from him. "If you can calm down maybe we can figure out what is wrong with you." She tried to speak calmly as she stepped a little father from him. If he was trying to hurt her, why was he crying? She asked herself as she straightened her posture and looked at him. She didn't look at her arm or the blood on his face, but instead at his other eye. For the life of her she couldn't figure out what was happening, but she didn't want to be by him anymore.

Yui felt something once again tug on his heart, as if something wasn't right.

'Say sorry.'

He wondered why he knew this. Had he done this before? He scooted closer to her. His bandage had switched back to his right side, to where it belonged. "I'm...sorry." The words came out in a shaky tone. Yui tried to control it, the shaking, the feeling of his heart dropping, the cold that seemed to be invading his body. He curled up looking at the girl, and her eyes. She had both of them, unlike himself. This made him touch his right eye, just to feel it.

"Please if you let me go I can help you!"

Yui let her arm go, only to realize that blood was left. Staring at it he wanted to taste it again, but he decide against the idea seeing as how the girl looked frightened out of her mind. Wiping his hand on his pants, suddenly leaving a red smear across his leg and the upper knee, he stood up, well, slightly, Yui noticed the height difference between himself and the girl. He could sit his chin on her head in he wanted to. From the looks of it though, if he touched her she run away.

"If you can calm down maybe we can figure out what is wrong with you."

Yui found comfort in these words. Suddenly her wanted to be closer to her, her skin looked as if it was glowing in the moonlight. He just let himself go, falling forward and buried his face in her neck. It was soft and warm, and he could feel her pulse. Suddenly he stopped thinking so much, about his future, or his past, where he was, or where he could go. "...Yui...I'm Nagi Hiroyuhi....but you can call me Yui."

His messy black hair fell into his face, or covered it per se. It shone blue in the moonlight, and tickled her neck slightly. "Who are you...and what is this place?" Not wanting, another blackout, he left hat had just happened alone.

(By the way, he switches personalities when his eyepatch flips sides)

Alie looked at how his emotions kept changing and it only terrified her more. "My name is Alie Imerson." She slowly tried to push him away seeing that he still had blood on him. Her mind was reeling as she looked at him. The dream was so real she could feel his hair on her neck. What is he doing? She asked herself over and over again as she backed away from him. She became so horrified by the blood on him, so she started to run. She had no idea where she was going, but she was getting away from him.

"I don't want to be here any more." She told herself as she kept running. The field seemed to be endless the farther she ran. Everywhere she looked it was either black or it was just the field. "What is this place and where is it?" She stopped briefly as she took a short break. After catching her breath she started to run again. Her heart was racing as she thought about all of the blood that was on him. Arriving at a lake she quickly dipped her arm in and washed the blood off. "Get off get off!"

She was rubbing her arm harshly as she tried her best to get the blood off of her. "Come on!" She was panicking seeing that some of the blood wasn't coming off. She was breathing heavy as she finally got all of the blood off, then she stood up quickly. She looked cautiously around to make sure that he wasn't following her, and she sighed in relief when she didn't see him. "Maybe I lost him."

Soon the day turned to night and stars had replaced the clouds in the sky. Heaven hadn't moved more than an inch, she was too enraptured in the scene to go anywhere. Stunned, more than anything. She had no idea where this weird place was or how she even got there, she only remembered falling asleep and waking up here. Honestly, she didn't care where she was, whether it was a dream or not, or even if she had somehow died in her sleep and moved on to the afterlife. Anywhere was better than Wynbran, that much she knew. It was almost unbearable, it took every bit of power within her not to just run off and explore every inch of this wondrous place. She was just about to venture to unknown parts of her new world when she heard someone call her name. It sounded like Requiem. Was she there too? "Hello?" Heaven turned around but didn't see anyone, nor did she get a reply. Her attention was seized by something unseen when she heard someone giggle. She whipped her head back towards the ocean, finding no source of that noise either.

She was startled when two, oddly glowing, figures formed and ran horizontally infront of her. It looked like two little kids, but somehow she could tell they weren't human. Heaven yelped when they stopped just in front of her and nearly fell backwards, stumbling over the sand. Then they disappeared and her attention was captured yet again by a piano. What was that doing there? She stared at it and dared to tap some of the keys, playing a piece of a song she made up on her own years ago. It had been so long since she last played, she closed her eyes and listened as her fingers glided smoothly over the keys. When the song was over she dropped her arms at her sides and took a step back, glancing up at the moon. "This is paradise." She said in a dazed tone, fully convinced she could stay here forever if that was possible.

Soon Heaven was walking the length of the beach, but it seemed to stretch on into infinity. She stopped eventually and turned away from the water, looking at a line of thick trees. She didn't know what was within them, but she wanted to find out. She left the beach and started walking through the tall pine trees, being extra careful not to trip over the raised roots exposed above the floor of fallen pine needles. "Hello is anyone out there?" She dared calling out to no one in particular, "Requiem, Alie! Can anybody here me?" She stopped walking and bit her lip, looking back to make sure she could still see the ocean. She didn't want to risk getting lost.

A frown fell upon Cris' lips, his brow furrowed in confusion.
"Dangerous?" he muttered to himself, just soft enough that he hoped the girl didn't hear.
"Stranger..." The word felt foreign in his mouth. Then his eyes lit up, and his mouth upturned, "You know Miss...I wouldn't have to be a stranger" He was smiling like a small child now, so excited with the prospect, before the...rational...side of his brain took over. His face composed itself into a stern, cold look of no feeling, "That is, Miss, If you would wish it." This last bit was added on with an almost monotonous voice, but warm none the less.

Ruby would tilt her head at him with a confused expression on her creamy pale face. "What do you mean by that?" She would ask, her flashlight remaining on him. It flickered slightly, but it didn't seem to bother her. She hoped she had replaced the batteries... she had reminded herself so many times. She would stare at him as her head was tilted a bit with a curious look but she still was cautious, keeping distance from him.

Cris' smile returned, he reached towards her light, when his finger touched it, the beam stopped flickering. The harsh yellow light replaced itself with a cool silver glow.
"I'm not sure Miss." His face took on an eerie shadow in the silver-y light as he lifted both of his eyebrows, as if in a sudden discovery "Well, I guess the first place to go would be for me to ask you your name." He tilted his head to the right and blinked a few times, he didn't know how to be doing this, he didn't know why he was doing this, and half of his brain was satisfied, the other was being coldly clinical, he knew that she was most likely a figment, or an illusion, something like that from the darkness. Then he remembered, he was the darkness. He smiled again in what he hoped was a warming fashion, he hoped she would answer and not try to run away again.

She had flinched when he touched her light and it changed color, she stared at it and then at him with a puzzled and almost frightened expression. But then she relaxed a bit and she would crack her neck as cracks came from within her muscles and bones. "Requiem... what about you?" she asked, her voice trying to stay steady as she stared at him, waiting for his answer. She kept staring, her flashlight remaining on his body and the light flooded a small area around them so she could see everything else.

"Cristopher, Cristopher...Jericho." His forehead furrowed as he produced the name. He wasn't used to going by names. "Cristopher Jericho, But you can call me...Cris"
"Requiem...That's a nice name" He smiled again, but the smile was quickly wiped off his face.
"I noticed something earlier..." He said in his cold voice, "When your light flickered...you flinched" He stared her straight in the eyes, his pupils almost nonexistent in the bright light, "Are you...afraid of the dark?" He questioned, an inkling of fear dripping into his voice. Here it was, someone new he had met, If they were afraid of the dark....they would be afraid of him.

The forest around Heaven felt both wonderful and frightening. The trees almost seemed to lean in towards the girl, not hindering her progress but perhaps watching it. Eventually as she wandered, she would see a softly glowing light slip from behind a tree ahead of her. A figure leaned around the trunk, and turned to face her. She had the face of a beautiful, serene woman, and was wearing a white, flowing gown which rustled faintly in the breeze that managed to gust between the arboures. A veil sat atop her head, the screen pulled back to reveal her face, and laced into the long, dark hair that fell to her hips, also undulating softly in the wind. Her skin was so pale it was nearly the colour of her dress, and her fingers were long and thin.

She extended a hand and smiled, a welcoming gesture, clearly wanting Heaven to take it. "Come, child. My name is Dove, and there is something that I must tell you, quickly, before his mind changes." When she spoke, her voice, soft and feminine, pulsed gently through the wood. But every word was preceded by a quiet whisper on the very edge of hearing, as if someone were telling her what to say. A few times, if Heaven's eyes were sharp, she might see a flash of something silver above Dove's head. Still, it was very hard to deny the sense of comfort and safety that bubbled from this woman's matronly smile and ethereal beauty.

As Heaven drew closer, she continued, and if the girl took her hand, she would be filled briefly with an almost overwhelming feeling of warmth and comfort, "He wishes to harm you, child, as he has so many others. Your fear is his weapon, and when you flee he grows stronger. Please, remember, standing stolid in the midst of darkness when terror grips your heart will unravel the shadows."

Yui felt the air rush from under him as she moved. He was confused. Did he say something, did he do something wrong? He didn't know, he just wanted warmth, because he felt cold. Now that he thought about it, even in the sun he felt cold. Why was this?

"My name is Alie Imerson."

"Alie..." He said the name slowly. She backed away again. He didn't like this. Yui just wanted a few answers, that's all he wanted, why did she flee? Yui watched her run away, and felt the cold breeze, but decided that it would be best for him perhaps to search else where. He stood again walking in a random direction, following the moonlight, until he came to a place.

Yui saw another girl, and when he looked at her he squeezed his eyes shut. Surprisingly, the attack he had earlier didn't come back. This brought Yui comfort, so he walked further down the hill, only to see a guy come into to few, and he looked...fierce. "Maybe..they will know."

Yui was sure that his efforts might succeed this time, until the screaming girl...what was her name...Alie...yes her, came into his head. He stopped mid walk and just stared on. Deciding, this might...be different, he continued. When he got close enough he could hear them talking among themselves.

'Hello'

The word popped in his head, and shortly after he blurted it out without m further thinking. "...Hello."

Requiem would stare at him, listening to his words and then she looked down at her flashlight and then back up at him. "A bit... yes. I like to have some light around when night falls..." she tilted her heads towards him as she then cracked her knuckles and she sighed lightly. "Um... nice to meet you... Cris... what are you doing out here?" This was supposed to be her world... or a dream world of some sort... so who was he? Just a figment of her imagination? Coming to invade the dreamworld? She didn't know and she kept her distance from him.

Alie looked around and started walking into the woods. The father she walked the more she could smell the ocean air. She took a deep breath as she took in the salty aroma and she smiled a little bit. She touched the trees and the ground feeling everything. "Where am I and what is this place?" She spoke to herself as she continued into the woods. Nothing was making sense as she kept walking. The one thing that didn't make sense was Yui. Where did he come from and what was he doing.

She started to feel a little bad that she ran away, but she didn't know him. As she kept thinking she saw a figure in the distance. It was Heaven. She started running and she smiled as she got closer to her. "Heaven!" She yelled out to her friend as she got closer to her. She smiled when she saw her face, but she looked worried. "What's wrong?" She said as she got closer to her slowing her running to a walk. She looked around not seeing anything.

Heaven looked around, just about to pick a random direction to walk in, when she saw a rather strange woman appear in front of her from behind a tree. She squinted her eyes and tilted her head, wondering if it was some weird illusion like on the beach. This place kept getting weirder with every second that passed. The brunette found herself walking closer to the woman though, she was beautiful but Heaven felt unsettled. Maybe it was the dark woods getting to her. She shrugged the feeling off and stopped a few inches away from her. Someone wanted to harm her? Who was this person? Earlier she thought it was just her in this world, but she was proven wrong. She was skeptical at first, but eventually outstretched her arm, her fingertips were just centimeters away from the woman's hand when someone called her name.

It was a familiar voice, someone she knew, Alie. Heaven dropped her arm by her side and turned around, relieved to see a familiar face in this bizarre land. She closed what little distance was between herself and her friend and wrapped her arms around Alie in a tight hug. "I'm so happy to see you!" She let go and backed up after a second, taking a deep breath. "Isn't this amazing," she gestured to their surroundings, "we finally got out of that hellhole. I don't know how and to be honest I don't really care! I'm not sure where here is but who cares?" She hesitated for a second, frowning, "I don't think we're alone though. I was on this beach and saw a bunch of weird stuff." Heaven grabbed her friend's wrist and started pulling her back towards the way she came. She stopped and looked back for a second, wondering if the mysterious woman was still standing there. What was she talking about anyway?

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Sorry my internet went away for awhile ><

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Don't worry about it at all. I kinda like the laid back pace.

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Sorry I haven't posted in a little while guys, got really busy yesterday!

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Ugh... really rough day.

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Yeah my mistake, hehe ^-^

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Hahaha, I noticed that, too. But once I saw you use Heaven in your post I figured that was the safe one to use :)
Besides, they are close in meaning! Sorta. Maybe... yeah.

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

You know...I just realized I gave my character two different names: Aurora and Heaven...definitely not doing profiles early in the morning anymore -_-

Everyone please disregard Aurora and use Heaven ^-^;;

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

I'm so excited for this rp :)!

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Awesome. This should be a lot of fun.

I went ahead and submitted the char... though... I think you accepted him already. Sweet. I gotta run to the store before they close atm, but I will see about making a post when I get back !

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Both the girls and their nightmares can twist and bend reality in their dreamland. It's just that the girls won't figure out how to for a while. So you have control over pretty much everything in the world except for the girl's themselves :D

I'll go ahead and reserve your role!

Edit: I just went ahead and made my introduction post, everyone can go ahead and start posting! =D

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Aw, shucks :) I was lookin forward to the shadowy dude. Well, that's okay, I will play the puppet nightmare instead. The premise still really interests me. I'm going to submit a character sheet today, but I actually.... have one more question. I hope that's ok! I have some ideas that I think are neat, but I want to make sure they're alright to use, first.

Seeing as how the majority of the interactions will be taking place in a dream, do I have a little more freedom with the environments? Especially considering that they are nightmares, and nightmares have a way of altering and twisting the dream to make everything seem more sinister. I'm not talking about taking control of the girls' characters, of course, but more along the lines of bending the rules of reality, such as bending time, or the way in which the girls perceive their surroundings. Yknow, like what actually happens in dreams. Or would you prefer a stricter, more realistic approach - like what would happen if the characters weren't actually in a dream.

Thanks for the clarifications, and sorry for all the questions, but I have some inspirations that I would really love to use :) Once you reply I'll finish up the char sheet and submit it!

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Don't worry about it, I'll just post my response here!

I'm not sure if you saw already or not, but someone else has already taken the 3rd Nightmare, so the only one left is the first. If you're still interested, then...

To answer your first question. All three of the girl's are between the ages of sixteen and seventeen. I haven't put much of a definition on the girl's nightmares, except for the fact that they are their darkest fears in a near perfect human form. How they behave is up to you, they can be however you picture them. I did it that way for the sake of a good surprise, instead of predetermining how I wanted each of them to act. Where they originated from is also up to you. They could've already existed in another world, or maybe they were creatures known only to the girl's in their minds, but since their dreams created this world their nightmares took on a human form and 'escaped' into it.

I really hope that answers your questions! I haven't had my caffeine for the day and I'm not fully functioning @.@

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Er... whoops. I'm new here. I posted a nice big question post and crap on the actual recruitment page. Was that supposed to go here? Shall I copy and paste the post here, or...? You can just reply to my questions on this thread if it makes it more "proper". Sorry for the noob mistake.

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

:O Sorry I didn't post here first, Wonderland PM'd me about it so I just went ahead and submitted a character, sorry.

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Thank you ^^ And o: I can try to ask a few friends if they might want to play it. I'll see. c:

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Double post! >.<

Wonderland I accepted your character! I also just put up a 'Wanted' thread so we can hopefully get to more males for the nightmares soon!

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

I usually get all of my pictures from Photobucket, if that helps? But, it doesn't have to be a hand-drawn picture, you can use an anime one too. If you really want to though, I don't care if you use a realistic picture!

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

>_< Looking all over DA for a good drawing pictures... MUST it be a drawing? I have alot of real pictures... it's harder for me to use drawings or even find ones that impress me. I have one though I don't like it as much as the picture I was going to use.

Do you know where I can find a few girl drawings?

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Hmm, well you can make him behave however you want as long as it goes along with the girl's fears. If that makes sense? @.@

Re: [OOC] Dream a Nightmare

Oh question, how do the boys act, do they correspond with the girls fear, and are they like crazy or something :0?
