Age || 25
Gender || Male
Personality || Mark initially comes off as a rather laid-back yet capable man. He tends to display very little motivation with the day-to-day tasks he is assigned; attending to them in a daze like a zombie. He isn't known to be too much of a talker; though he tends to be a bit more sociable among conventionally attractive girls.
He is a man who is all about survival. Money tends to be the only thing that motivates him to get him out of his lazy routine and actually do something with himself. He is a bit of a hedonist as well as he is never seen to actually plan and budget well for the future. Nonetheless, he is quite thrifty with his funds.
On the topic of machines--Mark can't exactly claim to like or respect them. He carries an old age perspective that machines are "all lights and clockwork" without any substance in them--a view that is growing increasingly taboo in this day and age. Nevertheless, it's not exactly a belief he parades around and he does have the social tact and common sense to not talk back to a Warden. But he doesn't technically possess much pride in being human either as he had worked under machines in the past and even found them to be much more amiable employers than humans.
His belief merely sees machines and humans as "different"; with neither one of them being above the other. To him, everyone's pretty equal under the current circumstances of the world.
Appearance || Mark stands at 6'2" and possesses a somewhat athletic build masked by his usual choice of attire. He has black hair and black eyes and an all-in-all, "forgettable" look to him, allowing him to blend in very easily. This allows him to take on several disguises without tripping as his voice sounds rather generic as well.
At present, he is disguised as a researcher with recommendations from a certain Blackwell Research Institute. His attire consist of his usual gray dress shirt and black tie though this time, topped with a white lab coat and glasses.
Skills and Talents:
Marksmanship || Mark is very skilled with the use of a gun. Assault rifles, snipers, handguns, revolvers--if it is something he can shoot, he tends to be able to shoot it well. Years of practice has allowed him to hone his proficiency and in times when he's not out on the field; he usually spends his time (and earnings), practicing on the range.
Melee || Mark is likewise, no slouch in close-quarters either. He is quite adept at fighting with his fists and his physical condition allows him to competently overpower most human foes. He rarely fights in close range though as he still prefers taking out targets without giving them a chance to see him or much less, fight back.
Stealth Intuition || A necessity for his job as a hired gun, Mark is quite good at blending in crowds and using various disguises to mask his presence. He also has very few physical gestures, allowing him to further blend in his surroundings.
Driving Intuition || Though he is unable to operate anything too sophisticated like planes, war vehicles and choppers, he is able to use everyday vehicles like cars, trucks and motorbikes. Trains are also out of the question.
History || With the harsh effects of Last Eden on the environment, it had been rather difficult for anyone to make a living nowadays. With the economy down and industry almost non-existent until such time that the world could be rebuilt; many people have started turning to "other means of earning." One such man was Mark.
Little is known about his personal life. He doesn't leave a lot of traces and doesn't tend to stay in any one place for too long. His rather unimpressive and forgettable visage also contributes to this and it isn't even known whether Mark is actually his real name. Originally, Mark was a freelance hitman who worked for various manufacturing firms and was primarily hired to bump off competition for four digit earnings. Back then, most of his targets were machines who were either outperforming their human counterparts, which he is able to do without remorse thanks to his personal view towards them. Occasionally, he was tasked to bump off human targets but never anybody or anything important or high profile, which allows him to maintain a low notoriety rating.
When his old employers went under, Mark found himself in a financially difficult situation as he found himself lacking a job. Eventually, he found some means to make cash by working for a renegade group of machines. Compared to his earlier assignments, most of his missions under his new employers involved retrieving various items or destroying evidence. Very rarely was he asked to actually eliminate anyone though it did happen a couple of times.
Still, he was rather wary for his own safety which is why he rarely lets anybody see his face. While human memories are easily compromised, machine databases are not. So he took great care not to reveal himself to his employers; communicating via secure, electronic means. When he felt that the missions were starting to get a little too personal for his taste, he decided to further distance himself by moving from city to city, eventually ending up in Prometheus.
During his time there, he was contacted by a rather weird client who asked him to sneak in with an exploration team headed for Styx. Something was causing a weird radioactive breakout and his client was very interested in whatever is down there. He was reluctant at first as he was just about to leave the city but the client's offer of six digit numbers was just something he couldn't ignore...
