a character in “Dreamers of Northmere”, as played by Pearls

Description

Role: The Fugitive

Image

Name: Ingrid Diana Heisenberg (given), Iriediana von Heist (go-by)

Nicknames: The Merry Murderess, Anna (to close friends exclusively, which is to say, no one yet.)

Age: 21

Gender: femme

Appearance: Ingrid is a tall, curvy woman, with a well toned body and insolent smile. Her hair, a mop of auburn curls, frames her long face and high forehead. Her eyes are the blue-grey color of stormy seas, bright and michevious, surrounded by high, dark eyebrows and long lashes. Her legs, long and lanky, are much stronger then they appear to be, able to carry her body and any cargo for long distances. Her skin is lightly tanned from her days running through the streets. There is a scorpion tatoo at the base of her neck.

She dresses simply and cheaply. A brown cloak covers her normal attire, a short-sleeved, faded blue cotton blouse, and a pair of men's trousers, hemmed and patched beyond recognition.

Skills:

  • Light of Foot- Ingrid is fast. Like, really fast, the kind of fast that leaves people behind her eating dust. She's been in the business of snatching and running for so that if she wasn't quick on her feet, she would have been thrown in the Catacombs long ago.
  • Covert- Dressing in the non descript clothes described above, Ingrid blends in well with the normal street crowd in Northmere, allowing her to move through most places with ease. If the need arises, she can adopt a different persona at the drop of a hat, from hair to face to clothes to voice.
  • Street-Wise- Although she never had a proper 'education', Ingrid's natural intelliegence hasn't let her down yet. She knows how to haggle, where to go for this, and for that, where not to go to stay alive, how to tell if the seller is cheating you, and other things more useful than poems by dead people.

Weaknesses:

  • Fighting- Sure, she can hold her own for a while in a fist fight, but as far as actually blade on blade, life versus death battles, ngrid is useless. Her daggers are for dispatching the helpless, not defending against stronger, more dangerous people. In such scenarios, Ingrid's fight or flight instinct is usually set to flight.
  • Greedy- Living in poverty, Ingrid knows how far a little money can take her- a lot less far than a lot of money. She will do almost anything for extra cash without hesitation.
  • Sweets- Like a child, Ingrid has no resistance to sugary confections, soft or hard, chewy or melt-y. It's embarrassing, but at least the only bad it's done so far is leave a very large hole in her very empty pocketbook. Er.

Personality: Ingrid appears to be a bright, outgoing, laid back person, laughing easily and taking life in stride. She is cunning, a trait that has kept her out of the Catacombs for so long. Hilde appears to be a spontaneous person, but it's just a facade- every decision she makes, from escape route to the tactless, dryly sarcastic replies she has become infamous for is very coolly calculated in the back of her mind. She doesn't look like she's taking life seriously most of the time, even though the collection of skeletons in her closet has made her anything but a lackadaisical fool.

She is selfish by nature, preferring to work alone for her own personal betterment. She doesn't see the point of teamwork if it doesn't help her directly. She lives for instant gratification, as long as she's certain she won't regret it in the future. She hasn't regretted anything yet, not even her rise to infamy.

Brief History: An orphan from the streets of Northmere, Ingrid has been fending for herself since she could run through the market with a melon under her arm. She has been a petty thief for many years, surviving on others, stealing what she can and selling what she can't. Until recently, she's been content to this life. Then, for no reason other than frustration with the upper class, Ingrid snapped. In one night, she killed four rich men of Northmere, stabbing them repeatedly in the stomach. Each time she left a calling card by the scene- a piece of parchment reading 'Signed, Iriediana von Heist.'

Instantly she was the news of the city, and despite her intial terrified reaction to the blood on her hands, she struck again. And again. Now, she has finally been spotted leaving the scene, and her face Iriediana's face is known to everyone in Northmere. On the run from the law, Ingrid has begun to have terrible nightmares, and is slowly going mad...

Philosophy: "The world is the enemy- expect nothing from grief from it, and give hell back."

So begins...
