Appearance:
Raina is your typical caucasian teenage girl in terms of looks. She has easily-tangled brown hair with unruly bangs. Her body is average, not too skinny and not too pudgy. She is five-foot-six in height. Her large eyes are a dull-green and often sad-looking. She has faded freckles across her cheeks and nose, still noticeable. Her skin is pale and practically translucent, and it has always worried her parents. Her veins almost show through her arms. Overall she has become quite sickly-looking over the past few months.



Why you are here:
Raina's world came crashing down when her best friend/boyfriend committed suicide while driving. They had been dating for three years, happy and madly in love, and had grown up together before that. Their honeymoon phase never ended. They'd had plans for the future and beyond. Raina hadn't known that Adam was having suicidal thoughts until he was dead. Now she feels riddled with guilt for not taking notice of the signs.

Lately Adam has been haunting her. As in, she sees his ghost. He talks to her, he holds her, he kisses her. He also tries to kill her. He wants her in the afterlife with him instead of on dreadful planet earth. Raina is not ready to die. A huge part of her world may be gone, but she wants to live on for him. He just won't understand.

Every night home, Raina would wake up screaming from nightmares of Adam attempting to kill her, or wake up crying from dreams of missing him. Her mother worried about her for these reasons, but originally thought that Raina was just coping with a loss. However, the screaming escalated to throughout the day, at school, in the car, while watching TV. Sometimes Raina would act possessed. Her mother would often walk into her room, only to find that she was close to bleeding out from stab or cut wounds. And Raina would always claim that Adam did it. She would swear by it.

Raina was taken to see many different psychiatrists, who all diagnosed her with the same thing: severe schizophrenia. She still denies her diagnosis.




What creates your paradise:
Raina's ultimate paradise is, as you might expect, one where she gets to be with Adam again. One where the love of her life is alive, happy and healthy, as is she. She likes to picture a fairytale world, one where nighttime and romance rule over everything. Often she imagines that she and Adam are taking naps together or just talking in a flowery field, with a massive white castle just in the distance. Glowing mermaids swim in lakes and luminous fairies take to the skies. In this paradise it is often quiet and serene.



Other:
Raina knows that something is wrong with her, and she typically wont try to fight off any help. Her problem is that the doctors just don't get it. None of them understand her love for her dead boyfriend, and if they did, that might just help her a little.

When she begins to scream, it's because she sees Adam. With a knife. A large, butcher's knife. Usually the only thing that will calm her is French vanilla ice cream... and it must be French vanilla. Maybe because it was Adam's favorite.

Lastly, Raina will always love Adam. Always. But again, she wants to get better and live life to the fullest. That might mean trying to make things work with someone else. She doesn't want to fall in love, but she's willing to try a relationship eventually. It's just that Adam would never forgive her.
