Rank (if not noble): Serf
Occupation/Trade (if not noble): Works part time as a postman or messenger of sorts in the village, and the rest of the time he helps his mother in her pub, The Howling Rabbit.
Name: Eugene Shadowfell
Age: 17
Sexuality: He's never really had time to think about it.
Marital Status: Unwed.
Location (ie, village/castle): Has lived in the village of Heresy all his life, but will soon choose to enter the castle's grounds in search of someone to 'serve'.
Background: Eugene was born the second eldest in a family of four children. His father died when he was seven, and he and his family always refuse to talk about him to anyone. His elder brother by three years, Stefan, died a year ago, killed inside the castle when he was under mastery of a noble. That noble has since fled the castle, and Stefan's body was returned to his family by the King's personal guard within days. As a reason for his murder, his family was told that he had thrown himself, out of love, in the way of an attempted assassination on his master. Eugene, however, refused to believe this version.
His family is only supported by himself and his mother Ama, his two younger siblings, Maria and Caleb, being too young to work, at respectively nine and six years old. Recently this has become insufficient for the family to survive on, and for this reason Eugene has decided to try again what his brother had attempted years before; enter the castle, find a noble to serve, and eventually become one. That way, he'll be able to support his family without struggling.
Personality: Eugene is a strong-willed, quiet boy. He doesn't talk much, and has a strong sense of responsibilities. He educated himself with books that his brother sent him, with the Queen's permission, from the Royal library, and his brother taught him to read during visits back to his home while under his master's service. As a result, he is very suited to court-life, knows all about accepted behavior towards other nobles and the Royal family, and has a high vocabulary. He has a lot of book-smarts, but contrary to what he thinks, he doesn't know much about life and is very ignorant about things like human emotions and reactions. He sound arrogant when talking about things which he believes he knows all about, but this tone is never intentional.
Eugene is curious and knowledge-thirsty by nature, and often reverts to being a little inquisitive boy with wide eyes and too many questions when he's being taught about something he doesn't know. He usually knows when to shut up, except at these particular moments. Knowledge to him is a drug; a library is his heaven, and he's already anticipating being given access to the Royal Library, rumored one of the best of Silencio.
Appearance: Eugene is 5"11', thin and muscled. He has fine brown hair that falls over his ears, wide, dark blue eyes, a haloed skin. He usually wears short-sleeved, brown, rough leather shirts because they're cheaper, and straight brown deer-leather pants that are both comfortable and warm.
