Fire-Blade's Story

Time: Night

Blade walked about the street in the dark. He had just gotten kicked out of the inn due to a bar fight, so he was left to wander the night. It was peaceful to him, that was until a bright light hit him like a canfeer. After a moment of recovery, Blade decided to investigate.

He spotted a man in dwemer armor, with a light spell above him. Blade couldn't tell if the man was sleeping or awake. He wasn't good at reading people who didn't show their faces. So, Blade sat just out of the light, watching for anything to happen.

As the carriage begins to move in the direction that Sul told them, they nearly run into Blade, walking away from the building that he hid behind. His patience with anything other than magic and hunting was not really that good.

"Eh, watch were your going!" Hissed Blade to the driver.

"Get out of the way, lizard!" Shouted the driver back.

That was the last straw for Blade. He ran in-between the horses, pulled the driver off, and went to fisticuffs.

By the time that the guards pulled Blade off of the driver, he had made the man a bloody ball of pain. He had also given a couple of the guards black eyes when they tried to help the driver. Even as two guards carried the argonian by the shoulders, he still fought to the point where they dropped him. He then kicked both of the metal clad men to the ground.

Without hesitation, Blade began to run off in the general direction of Bruma. He planned to go into the forests, just before the snow, and shoot back around to the river around the Imperial City. The was till the guard captain engaged Blade in combat, starting by trying to subdue the argonian with a smack from a shield.

Blade fell to the ground as the shield hit him. He then shot back up, pulled the shield off of the captain. Just after, Blade felt a pain in the back of his head, and fell to his knees.

Blade woke up to the rising sun. He swore that he could hear something off in the distance slightly, but he couldn't focus beyond the pain in the back of his head. "Damn guards." Blade muttered getting off the road and on to his feet. By the time his vision cleared, he began to walk. He spotted a dark elf who looked rather familiar, but Blade could not place where he met this person. Likely a bar fight, judging by the looks of the elf.

"Excuse me, but do you know where we are?" Shouted Blade to Sul.

"One more thing." Blade shouted to Sul. "Did you see how in Oblivion I got here?"

Almost instantly after the question was proposed to me I remembered him. "Yes, you seemed to be a drunkard and threw the carriage driver away from his seat and got into a brawl. Now we're here, so if you don't mind I'll take my leave because I have rather important things to do." Before he could ask more questions my feet paced to a light jog as I made my way for Dragontail Rock in the northern region.

Blade began to his at the mention of his fight. He distinctly remembered how weak the guards had been without their weapons. They had to go back to using a club to knock him out. It was not something that he was fond of, as that seemed the out come of every bar fight, but normally he ended up in jail for a day or two rather than randomly passed out along a road.

Now Blade had to find his way to one of the cities.

While Dar'ja would be traveling to Skyrim, she would run into an argonian taking his sweet old time. Blade walked slowly, often changing his focus from ground to sky. He was wondering if he might be able to pick up some rumors from the bar in Bruma before he got into a bar fight. That part was inevitable. Blade could always find something to fight about. Such was a part of his nature, which showed much better after a few glasses of ale or mead.

Dar'ja saw the Argonian and she gave a loud hiss. Her horse [url=http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/2315-1-1322801820.jpg] Nightmare[/i] whinnied at the presence of Blade. Dar'ja carefully placed one hand on her dagger, should she need to use it. Though anybody knew not to mess with the Brotherhood. Then again, not many knew who was in the brotherhood. That was always a good thing.

The hand on Nightmare's saddle glowed as her temper flared, and the tension was felt through Dar'ja. People always recognized the hand. Who would be fool enough to mess with a member of the Black Hand? Though Dar'ja needed information on these rumors. Surely the Argonian had information. What would be the price of it?

Halting Nightmare, she'd look down on Blade, her eyes narrowed, her hand on her dagger inside her robes. "You, Lizard, what do you know of the Daedric Prince Molag Bal?" She'd ask calmy though with no kindness in her voice. (She had a reputation to uphold as being one of the fearsome assassin's of Tamriel right?)

As she waited for his response, Dar'ja thought of the many ways she could kill him if he posed a threat to her. Though she was surely not going to have to go through such harsh means, then again, her mind was that of a well trained assassin, kill without mercy. Nightmare gave a neigh, letting out little smoke through her nostrils. Even she didn't like being around Argonians. Then again, it could be Dar'ja's attitude rubbing off on her.

At the word 'lizard,' Blade began hissing loudly. His right hand shot to his blade, his left preparing a fireball. He hated being called lizard, no matter how you said it. You could spit argonian out at him, and he would be fine. However, you could say lizard in the most affectionate way, but should expect at least his blade against your throat.

At the mention of Molag Bal, his grip on his blade loosened, but his hand still rested on it. The fireball never changed. "Rethink your choice of words, and you may get the answers you seek. However, they are hidden simply by the words you chose to use." Blade said, wondering in the Khajiit would even understand his riddle. They were a smart race, and slipperier than an argonian bathed in fish oil.

Dar'ja would draw her dagger as she saw the fireball. She was no kitten, not anymore. Though her dagger glistened in the sun, she pondered his words. Getting off of her horse she'd chuckle slightly. Nightmare simply went to graze nearby. The hand still glittering.

"I do not know your name Argonian, but should you wish to exchange plesantries, fine. Until then I only know of the word lizard and of your race." She decided to speak in first person, a suprise much to herself. Maybe she was spending too much time with the Mar. Waving this thought off she continued. "I have heard rumors of the Daedric Prince coming back...though, I throw caution to the wind...." She'd pause and lower her hood, her green eyes glowing. "But be careful how you address Dar'ja, for she is..." She'd stop and point the the black hand symbol on her chest.

Hopefully he got the referance. "I will not harm you... should you not harm me. All I ask is for what you know on these whispers in the night." She'd smile, trying to show she was friendly, though not too friendly. Afterall, she knew some Argonains, shadowscales they were... members of the Brotherhood.

"I have to know, dear..." She'd pause thinking of the word one of the fellow members used to speak of their race. "Saxhleel... are you born under the Shadow? Do you serve Sithis?" Dar'ja remembered the tennants, the ones that she knew she invoked in Cyrodiil. She wanted the Brotherhood to follow them. Should this Argonain be a part of it, she could not harm him. No matter how much she wanted to, she was bound by Sithis, and the Tennants. Every Brotherhood member would follow these laws, for fear of the wrath of Sithis.

Sheathing her dagger, she showed a sign of good faith, but she wasn't entirely unarmed, she had her claws. "Now, what whispers of the Daedric Prince have you heard Argonian?" She'd ask once more, her face exposed to him, the truth of her occupation clear as daylight.

What would this Argonain do? Would he give her the answers she seeked, or would he fight her...or just give her more riddles.

Again Blade hissed at the word lizard, tightening his grip on his sword, both of which stopped after a few seconds. He listened closely afterwords. It was something about no harm and rumors about a Daedric Prince. She then said "Saxhleel" which gave a distinct response, and an almost instant surge of respect from the argonian standing before her. Where before he was looking into the sky, now he had spun around on his heels to look her in the face, and both of his hands went to his sides, no threat from them.

"I was born under the stars of the mage, and cursed with a curiosity that you have just spiked. You use the name of my people which few have the respect to even utter, but more importantly, you have learned the word that you use instead of the common one. I know not of this Deadric Prince coming back, but I would much like to learn more. And call me Blade, Dar'ja." Blade said to Dar'ja in a now peaceful voice.

Dar'ja now relaxed seeing how he wasn't going to harm her. A slight chuckle came from her thoat as she heard of his curosity. "Ah the curiosity that makes you wonder if these whispers are true, or are they just that, Whispers." She looked down the road then back to him. "I am heading off to the Land of Skyrim, the Guild in Riften is truley where I'm heading." She'd stop and cock her head to one side. "Theieves and Assassians carry rumors swifter than a bartender." She'd chuckle and call Nightmare over to her.

"You're welcome to come along... Dar'ja offers the protection of the Brotherhood as long as you travel with her." She'd pull up her hood, as she looked down at him. "But soon I will need to stop for a good mead, and some meat..." A quick pause, "At least I get them either free or a discount." She'd give another throaty laugh.

She was more calm and relxaed now that there was little tension in the air, and more of dignity between two races. "What say you Blade? Would Skyrim be your cup of tea, or would you rather wander the roads of Cyrodiil?" Her green eyes glistened as she spoke to him, she showed much honor and respect to the Argonain.

"I need not protection, as you can imagine, I can handle myself. However, I would be absolutely lost in Skyrim, so I will accept your invitation." Blade said to Dar'ja. He spoke the truth, as Skyrim was the one countrie, on the main landmass, that Blade had not visited in his bar-fighting adventures. And besides, Dar'ja would likely make a much better companion than a Nord any day.

Dar'ja smirked and nodded her head. "Well then, feel welcome." Her ears flicked left and right as she, jumped up on Nightmare. Adjusting herself so her tail would be comfortably hanging over the horse she'd look at Blade once more. "Do you know where we could stop and rest a bit?" She'd ask him as her stomach growled. That was one thing she disliked, the Brotherhood had been getting less and less food suplies. That concerned her, but she could not stop it. Though she figured someone in the Sanctuary, had invoked the Wrath of Sithis.

Bringing her thoughts to the present she'd eye the Argonian once more. "I know great Shadowscales within the Brotherhood... noble Argonians they are." She'd state before looking straight ahead. Though her ears were alert as well as her other senses. (An Assassin can never be too careful now can they?)

Her ears caught the sound of a branch breaking, and she'd turn on her horse, and look in the direction, her dagger already drawn. There was a young boy, pale, his eyes full of fear. Dar'ja lowered her blade just a bit, not too much. (She's had young kids try and kill her before.) The boy shook and shivered.

Dar'ja's ears would flatten against her head as she leapt gracefully off her horse. "What is it boy? Here to kill a cat?" She'd snarl, crouching down, getting her blade ready to strike should she need to. He shook his head no, and carefully held out a note. "I-I-I was s-s-s-sent by the...." He'd look around as if afraid to say anything, then deeming it safe, "Brotherhood..." He'd tremble and shiver as if the word itself was cursed. Dar'ja straightened back up and sheathed her dagger, taking the note from the boy. She'd open it up and read it, carefully, fully aware of the Boy still standing there, as well as Blade.


Dar'ja,

I am to inform you of a contract you are supposed to do. This could not wait until you arrived to Skyrim. Should you already be in Skyrim, You must turn back, and come back to Cyrodiil. The Black Sacrament has been invoked by a very powerful man, The Captian of the Guard in Bruma, we do not wish nor desire to send one of our younger recruits, as does the Night Mother not wish this.

Dar'ja, she requested you, as what the Listener says to us. Though be cautious, this may be a trap, to find members of the Black Hand. My Silencer has been murdered, as has yours and one other. I fear someone is hunting the Brotherhood...have we invoked Sithis' wrath? Night Mother would say right? Could the Listener be lying to us? Is the Listener a Traitor?

I know you are on the roads to learning more about the Daedric Prince, but Dar'ja, The Brotherhood needs you. Keep your wits about you, I do not want to hear of our dear Sister being murdered and lead into a trap.

Folding the paper on it for a moment she pondered what he meant. The Listener...a traitor? Shaking her head she'd look over at Blade. "Do you believe in Sithis?" She'd ask before turning to the boy. "Boy! Whoever sent you this letter, you tell them this. 'I do as Night Mother wishes, but I will prey to Sithis, and Summon Lachance, see what he says about this.' Now Go!" She'd hiss shooing him off.

Hoping back on Nightmare, she'd look down at Blade once more. "We must detour to Bruma... I hope you do not mind...There, you'll get a reward, but first... I must summon Lachance.... he would know what Dread Father wishes."

She'd wait a moment more to see if Blade would rather ride with her and Nightmare, or run alongside them.

Country: Cyrodiil

"You give them far more credit than..." Blade said before he was interrupted by the boy. He stood still, with maybe a bit of leg moving, while the boy near wet his pants. Dar'ja then read the letter that the boy delivered.

"My time in Black Marsh was cut short by an attack on my tribe. I know the name, but not what is behind it." Blade stated before the boy was shooed off by Dar'ja.

"Just avoid any guard patrols. I had a nasty fight there last night, and I think some of the swollen eyed guards will not be happy with my presence. There was two odd things about it, though. First, the fight didn't start at a bar. Second, they ended up knocking me out, and throwing me not to far from here." Blade explained as he got on Nightmare.

Time: Mid-Day
Town: Orange Road to Bruma
Country: Cyrodiil

"Three will not fit on the horse. If you will need me, tell me now so I know to run. If not, I will be staying in the trees to the left of the northern gate." Blade said.

One who knew the signs on Blades body could use them to tell that he was indeed ready to run. He could easily keep up with Nightmare for the extent of the run to Bruma, but it would be a tiring one. Of course, if he was used as a distraction, he could just keep running. This surprisingly helped him go for longer periods of time.

Dar'ja pondered his words for a moment or two then nodded. "Accompany me to Bruma, if you do not mind Blade." She'd stop and look over at Lachance, for just a moment. "There, I will speak with the Leiutenant, when the act is done, I'll need you to distract the guards..." She'd say once more, Lachance seemed to smile. "Ah, you go in blazing swords, not being assassin like at all. I like that... but, let us go for the stealthier methods." He'd ponder a bit more, as Dar'ja seemed to consider his words.

Looking back at Blade, she'd sigh, "Meet me at the edge of the city, there is a farm house west of the City, called Appleridge." She was cut off by Lucian's cold voice, "My bones lay there, unmarked, unburried. Appleridge, where I met my cold hard unfair death, but I do the Dread Father's will, and if it wern't for my Brother's and Sisters, I would have never been able to serve like I have."

Dar'ja gave him a quick glance before clearing her thoat. "Do not disturb Lachance's bones... but know I will be there by nightfall. Should you not be there when I arrive, I will know you do not wish to follow an assassin." (A wise choice). So Dar'ja thought, for you never know when an Assassin would turn on you, like one had now, in her Sanctuary.

Getting on Nightmare, she bowed her head once more at Blade. "I do hope to see you at Appleridge, there we will make a plan, but first, I must speak to the Leiutenant."

She'd hesitate a moment longer as Lachance seemed to dissapear, his voice, echoing, "Let us shed blood in the Name of Sithis."

Country: Cyrodiil

Blade nodded his head before saying, "I will be there." Once he took a moment and remembered his way, going through the forest near the road. It took him about an hour.

Country: Cyrodiil

Blade sat in wait, just outside the front gate. He lay sleeping in a bush that had grown, but if one were to near the house, he would not be that well hidden. It did seem to work at keeping the guards and the Legion from finding him. And so he waited for Dar'ja.

Blade began to get curious, after standing around for a couple of minutes after waking up. He wondered when Dar'ja would show, and began to look for the bones. Opening the door, one could not get into the building without passing through the bones first. Not a problem for Blade, as the bones would be easy for him to leap over. Guards, however, would not likely be able to. This meant that Blade now had a trap, it the bones were as dangerous as he had previously gathered.
