Fang Hunter

"We're in this together for better or for worse."

0 · 1,569 views · located in The Factory

a character in “Elemental Battles: Rage Ch. II: Fire”, as played by Seveneleven

Description

Name: Fang Hunter

Pack: Kamaria

Gender: Male

Description: Fang is easily distinguished by his long yet lean body. Like many other Kamarians he too has black fur that is especially well-groomed.

Personality: Fang is quite reasonable for a Kamarian, he listens to others and shows consideration for their thoughts and feelings. Rational and levelheaded, Fang often resolves his issues through talking rather than violence. Of course he does not shy away from fighting and will defend his friends claw and fang. Fang is a very patient Wolf it comes from years of being a hunter, but he takes a measured approach in everything he does. He is friendly and hospitable to others so long as he senses he could trust the Wolf before him.

Abilities: Fang has developed his Element to assist him in his hunting. Fang can use "Shadow Meld" to enter his shadow or the shadow of another person or thing. From there he uses "Shadow Shift" to quickly "hop" between different shadows significantly increasing his speed. These abilities have been proven to be useful in stealth and attack.

Equipment: Nothing of note.

History: A Kamaria Wolf born free to the long since, separated Kamarians in Black Valley. Unlike the Kamarians from the Darkness Canyons, the Shadow Pack from the Valley tend to be less hostile showing more restraint and thought than their barbarous counterparts. Still they are very guarded and slow to trust anyone from the outside. Those that live in the Valley are majorly female, leaving very little males to do the hunting and fighting. Fang is one such hunter and a good one at that. It was during his hunting excursions that he ran across Mydnyte.

He could tell that he was a Kamarian like he, but he has never seen him before so naturally he approached him. Mydnyte at first was overly defensive even threatening Fang, confused he asked why the hostilities? Mydnyte was surprised by this knowing that any brainwashed slave of Rashid never stops to ask questions. Loosing his guard he began to speak with Fang and soon the two became friends. When Mydnyte told him of his ordeal Fang was quite outraged to hear that one of their own would do such an vile and wicked thing as sale their brethren into slavery. Even worse was the brutal execution of all their females and Pups.

Fang took it upon himself to help his fellow Kamaria and vowed to free his Packmates no matter what. While Mydnyte would not admit it he felt gladdened to have a traveling companion once more. The two set off to free the Kamarians underneath Rashid's control from there Fang agreed to lead them all home to Black Valley. Despite their team up they always seemed to be two steps behind Rashid but with the recent addition of Durandel, Nova, and Blue, they hope their luck is about to change.

So begins...

Vesta
Vesta was distracted by her feeling and followed the groups lead on a more subconscious. Every thing felt wrong, the air, the ground, even the heat felt wrong. This is home or at less it was. It felt good to be home but it also felt like she was a stranger in this place. When the group was given water she drank not thinking about it. But again even the water she had drank your whole life seemed wrong. "What am I doing here? Can I really fight my own people? What happens if I can't? Do I fight those I've been traveling with? Maybe I should just sneak off when no one is looking. Then what? Were would I go? Father I could use some guidance." She thought as she followed the group to the conference room. It wasn't till she heard a name that pulled her out of her thoughts. "CASTOR!" She thought, "Councilor Castor? Here? Father always said to keep an eye on him. Though mother liked him." Listening to Castor explain how he is one of the resistances inside sources, she decided to agree with her mother on this for now. Then an other name came up. This one brought nothing but anger to Vesta as she dug her claws into the ground trying not to say or do anything. When it came time to choose to stay or join the mission she choose to join in hopes of finding out more of what has happened to her home. She had never spent much time in this part of the city, but if there were outsiders working within her lands...

Amarok
She tried not to think or feel to much as they were lead through the tunnels. Yes the darkness was nice and all but this place wasn't very welcoming. She tried to focus on the group and how much fun they had getting here. Once she was given water she focused on it. Her tail waging a million miles an hour as she played with her water well being careful not to waste a drop. Walking down the dark hallways, she walked with her tail and ears up with a slight bounce in her walk. Once in the conference room she lost all bounce as her ears and tail lowered. She perked up a little when some one started talking about making shadow. She loved shadow play. When the choose came to her it was an easy pick for her. Stay here in an unwelcoming place surrounded by strangers or stay with her pack and get to play with shadow. As the group waited started trying to work on her war face the best she could.

Nova

The arrival of the water improved Nova's mood several degrees, and his usual caution was forewent as he lapped greedily at the bowl. It had an interesting taste, not exactly bad, but not quite like that of a crisp spring either. Perhaps it was sulfur? It didn't matter. Hunger always made the best spice, and the Ausi was pretty sure that the same applied to thirst and drinking. Though he would have to find a way to fix his fur. During the brief moment he had allowed the water to stand still he had seen his reflection, and the work of several ice-steam treatments certainly didn't leave him looking pretty.

Nova tried to pay attention between relieved laps as the meeting progressed. Ever the spy, he spent part of his brainpower trying to size up the rebel leaders, and silently assessed the position of himself and the group. There were no clear escape routes, which was never a good sign, but as of yet the Ausi didn't suspect foul play. The whole idea of a super weapon was hard to wrap the mind around, but the plan seemed like a genuine one. Nova couldn't fathom the audacity of attacking the Dimitrios head on, especially when they were in their home cliffs. In the battle that he had witnessed around the time he met Cerise, it was rock wolf settlements out in the woods that had been attacked and routed. But in the cliffs, the Dimitrios would be in their element. It was like trying to attack an Aven in the woods, or a Kamarian in the dark. Or an Ausi in their own capitol city.

Steadied by his recent drink it was enough for Nova to say "I'm in," when the time came to choose. He had come too far to turn back now.

The promised reprieve in the heat was surprisingly effective. It was still plenty warm, but at least it no longer felt like they were standing in an oven. Rather disorientated in the urban setting, Nova kept on the heels of Amarok as they moved through the alleys. The was no mindpower to waste on scouting now, all was needed to focus through the fumes on the task ahead.

Eventually settling himself on the ridge overlooking the factory, the Ausi settled in to wait for the signal. He looked to his left and discovered that he had ended up by Vesta and Amarok, the latter pulling a face that looked like she had just licked a lemon. As he had heard feint chatter among the other rebels in the ring, Nova felt he could risk a quiet comment to steady his nerves and theirs.

"You don't know how long I've waited for this. To do something that matters in ending this war."

Blue

Blue had her mission. That was all that mattered to her and once out of the tunnels, her whole body relaxed. Whereas her mind, was not so relaxed. She hadn't said anything since they entered the tunnels, and even here, in the heart of Tenneth territory, her mouth stayed shut despite the unbearable heat.

****

Blossom

Meanwhile, several distances away, Blossom tripped. "Oww, I tripped...Tiberius watch out for that thing there." She stretched her wing out, and using it like a third arm, pushed herself back onto her paws just in time to motion at what tripped her. It was a stump. "Oh, it's... its a broken tree..." But.... if it was a tree... I would have felt it.... but... Perplexed, that she hadn't felt it or properly seen it, she couldn't understand that what she was looking at was the stump of a tree that had been burnt.

Tired and sleep, she hadn't been watching where she was going, but now... She was wide awake. Wide awake enough to realize there were many more trees like the one that tripped her. This place had been scorched. It filled her with a sense of dread.

"Tiberius, I think we should hurry."

****

Blue

Blue was not like Nova, nor anyone else here in the mere idea that taking out one warlord would stop a war, between so many. Besides, she was more concerned about messing up due to the monsters in her head corrupting her sight.

Don't mess up.

A low growl made her step forward and wondered what would happen if Summanus died.

Everything was going according to the plan.

Infiltration

The time had come, the plan was to be enacted and whatever good or bad may come, there was no turning back now. As previously discussed, Mydnyte used the Factory's perceived blind spot to sneak Summanus inside. "Summanus." The scowled faced Kamarian spoke. "You're not about to tell me to be careful, now are you?" Summanus poked at the Shadow Wolf. "Bah! Of course not! I was just going to say don't screw this up." He said with a growl under his breath. "Good, I was beginning to worry you were getting soft on us in your old age." Summanus chuckled. Then the Lightning Wolf entered leaving a stunned Mydnyte behind, questioning himself on what he had just heard. "Did Summanus just crack a joke? He never did that...what's going on with him?" Either way there was hardly anytime to question the thought further. He turned back and returned to the others.

"Well, he's inside...it's up to him now." Mydnyte reported with uneasiness. "What's wrong?" asked Fang. "I don't know...lets just get this thing over with. The sooner we can get to Prometheus, the sooner we get to Rashid." He responded. "What was that all about?" Fang thought to himself. The situation was tense to say the least but now everything hinges upon Summanus's success. Not quite the best feeling in the world knowing that and it must feel even worse for the rebels, who placed their hopes in them. Summanus isn't known for failure but the odds are indeed against all of them. Can he do it?

****

Inside, Summanus stayed low and kept to the shadows. He had to watch his anxiety, otherwise he may begin to spark and that would be bad. He kept an ear to the ground and listened for pawsteps that moved in close and further away. It seemed there were some guards inside but not as many as he thought that should be wandering the halls. Curious, but it mattered not, he needed to follow the wires to the generator. The Borak stealthily made his way deeper and deeper in the factory, avoiding as many wolves as he could. He couldn't risk a fight, not yet. Yet, he did not know that a fight would find him. His infiltration left him close to the main workshop.

He could hear intense labor from behind two big, swinging doors. It sounded like something was being built, as the sounds of hammering, welding, and smelting dominated the hallways. It seemed the wires were leading into the workshop, the generator room must be close by. Of course it will be risky to sneak past both the workers and the guards, but he will have to manage. Summanus entered the workshop via the catwalks that hung above the large workshop. There he saw some sort of mechanized device, but what it was, he wasn't sure. It was big though, what could it be for? It seemed to come to a point, must be some sort of penetration device if he was to wager a guess.

Summanus couldn't dawdle over speculations, he just needed to kill the power so the rebels can halt Prometheus's wolves. Thankfully he managed to cross the workshop into the next room. There he came down a darkly lit hallway as the wires seemed to coverage behind one last door. Must be the generator room. Summanus walked inside and pecularily enough, the generator room was quite dark. He'd figured there would be more light in such a place. No, something seemed off but before he could react a bright light shown over head. "Well, well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes." A voice cooed. Summanus looked around as he saw Boraks jump off overhead platforms as they went to cover the exit and the generator. "I see, so it was a trap." Summanus spoke under his breath. "Too little, too late to realize that one Manny, but that is your greatest flaw. Your mind always seems to wander...I can't believe you've survived this long as a merc." The voice jeered. "Manny? Only one Wolf calls me that...hello, Atalanta." He spoke.

As if on cue Atalanta appeared before Summanus with a cocksure smile she strode up to the Two-Tailed Borak. "I would say it's a pleasure, but that would be a lie." Summanus spoke as the She-Wolf began to circle him. "Oh, Manny, even when you're clearly over your head, you still find the time to say something stupid." She chuckled. "How many times does this make it now? Ten, Twenty? Frankly, I've lost count on just how many times I've gotten the drop on you." She chuckled again. "Are you sure I'm not just letting you think you've tricked me all of those times?" Summanus jabbed. "Hehehe Manny, Manny, always sharp with your responses but dull with everything else. You're really are quite a cinch once someone figures you out." "Why are you here?" Summanus asked. "I can ask you the same thing! But I have my secrets as I'm sure you have yours. OH! I got it! How about we trade secrets, huh?" She asked. Summanus was silent.

"Hmph, didn't think so. If you're not willing to open up to me, Manny, then what makes you think I'm going to open up to you?" She questioned. "I don't know, maybe it's because your the kind of the wolf that likes to talk too much?" "Hah! Maybe but at least I'm not an open book like you are!" She said as she stuck out her tongue at Summanus. "I know you're just stalling for time, so how about we just cut to the chase?" She laughed as she backed up. It was then three of her Borak minions jumped overhead, fangs and claws bared as they closed in on Summanus. "Damn." He thought as his maw gripped the handle of his blade. Waiting for them to get closer, Summanus expertly draws his sword as the blade slashes it's way through all three of them. With a death cry blood spews forth as the wolves' bodies splattered across the floor. "Fire!" Atalanta ordered as her lackeys fired lightning bolts at the Stray. Summanus ducked and dodged the assault as he charged straight for Atalanta.

She smirked. Summanus came in for a quick swing of his sword only for Atalanta to jump up and over his head. In a sudden move, Atalanta bit down on the scruff of his neck and with a whip of her body, flung Summanus hard to the ground. "Oof!" He grunted as he dropped his blade. As he attempted to stand, four Boraks at once fired a stream of lightning at the poor Stray. "ARGH!" He cried as lightning shoots throughout his system. Summanus then collapses to the ground as steam rises off of his shaking body. "Zapped you a good one didn't they? But don't worry Manny, we aren't planning to electrocute you just yet. After all we have some questions that need answering. Bring him to Lady Doom, I'm sure she can talk some sense into that thick skull of his!" Atalanta ordered as her wolves moved in.

His vision was starting to glaze but that's just the initial shock. Soon the numbness will wear off and, these Boraks will be done for. He doubts Atalanta has let them in on his ability to absorb electricity and redistribute it for his own use. Besides, she probably thinks he's taken in more than he can handle. They haven't seen each other in a long while, and Summanus isn't the same wolf he used to be. He's grown. Not only has he increased the amount of electricity he can hold but the electricity he'll discharge, will be twice as powerful. "Alright, Manny, it's time for you to come with us to see the boss!" A Borak spoke as he and the others chuckle with wicked glee. Then the tips of his fur began to glow with energy as Summanus smirked, "Sorry boys but I'm afraid I'm going to have to disappoint you all." Atalanta perked up. "Oh no...YOU IDIOTS BACK AWAY NOW!!!" She yelled but it was too late. Summanus discharges the electricity as a barrier of lightning explodes forth and envelopes the Boraks. "GWAAAAH!!" They shouted as the barrier electrocutes them. Atalanta backs away before the barrier could reach her.

Summanus shouts as he then breaks the barrier as a shockwave sends the wolves flying back. Summanus pants heavily as he stands shakily before Atalanta. "Hmph! Even I have to admit...you can be...impressive, but I'm sure that little trick has drained you. And I know, that you're not foolish enough to face me when you're not at full strength. So, I'm just going to knock your ass out right here and now, don't worry, I won't make it too painful." She said with a smile. Summanus looked around, he's got enough reserves to fire one more bolt of lightning but he can't strike Atalanta, she's too fast. He can hit the generator from here but he knows Atalanta will be looking out for that. He needs to be smart about it but what can he use-wait...that's it!! Then a sudden swift kick came to the side of his head as it sent Summanus tumbling to the ground. "There you go, mind wandering again! I swear you can never keep your head in the moment even when certain death is staring you down." She sighed. "Oh well I guess I'll just have to drag your daydreaming ass back to Lady Doom myself." She chuckled. "That's where you're wrong, Atalanta, in fact you just gave me a clear shot." He thought to himself as he winced in pain.

He then fired a bolt of lightning at one of the downed Boraks, his body twitched and then, like a knee-jerk reaction, the unconscious Borak fired a bolt of lightning as it struck the generator causing it to overload. "WHAT THE HELL!?!?" Atalanta cried when suddenly the building went black. "Hehe, my planned worked...didn't think it would." Summanus wheezed. "Why you! YOU CHEEKY BASTARD!!!" Atalanta shouted as she swiped her paw down upon Summanus knocking him out. "Grrr, I'd kill you right now if you weren't of interest to Lady Doom. C'mon." She growled as she bit down on Summanus and dragged him away.

On the outside our heroes and the rebellion saw the lights flicker out and die leaving the place a dark as the nighttime sky. "By the Gods! That crazy bastard did it!" The Resistance Squad Leader barked. "He really did it?" Fang spoke flabbergasted. "All right everyone, let's storm that factory now!" Mydnyte commanded. The Rebels then began to file in underneath the cover of dark as the guards stumble around questioning about what's going on. Soon our heroes would find themselves inside a dark factory as the sound of shuffling guards barking curses down the hall. What happens now, is up to our brave souls.

Blue

As the factory lights went out, so did the hope that Blue had for the entire plan going disastrously going wrong. If it had gone wrong so wrong that they would have had to retreat and give up, it would have been for the best, but that escape plan was long gone. So, she was in that single file line going into the factory, and she knew what exactly this small rebel band was in for. Hopefully, she wouldn't have to kill any of them.

*****

Blue let out a small breathe and tried not to pant as the heat became even more insufferable once she got inside the factory. Damn this heat. She lifted a paw and gingerly licked it, and wondered how Nova was doing. Not that well from what she saw. She caught up to him and whispered, "What were we supposed to do now?"

Of course she hadn't been listening to the war plans, but oh well. At least she had Nova and not to mention Durandel. For now at least. "Wait, I smell blood..." It was amazing how her nose was still able to catch scent here in this inferno heat, but it was there. The slight tang of blood. She blinked, trying to focus the shapes she saw in the dark. What had happened and where was Summanus? Wasn't he supposed to wait for them? Or maybe he had gone ahead?

"Nova, I have a bad feeling about this." She loped ahead, and made her way to what she thought was one of many side doors. The guards still seemed blinded and unamused by the destruction of the generator thing, but she wondered how long this would last. Maybe it would be best to seperate from the group now. Especially since her job was to watch and observe, not to actually partake in this coming battle.

With this bad feeling growing, she waited by the door using her coat color to blend in with the darkness.

Vesta had been focusing on her breathing till she heard Fang speak up. " I wouldn't get to exited yet. We're fighting against the odds big time here. For all we know they could be waiting for us. We don't know the size or makeup of the garrison, the layout or fortification of the factory. For all we know its fortified against assault and guarded by Elite soldiers from the Tenneth, Borak and Canicus. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the other packs were here too. We could all be killed as soon as we enter the factory. Even if we survive, this is only the start. We still need to breach one of the most heavily guarded areas in the Vulcans, get past the guards, take out the Alpha's personal guard and then deal with one of the strongest Tenneths. Good news is, if we live we get to eat." she replied never taking her eyes off the factory. Hearing what Vesta said, Amarok shrinks back and close to Nova. Disheartened by the bleak outlook her strong close friend has, She starts to second guess coming on this mission.

Once the signal is given and the rebels start to move out Vesta stands up, sighs, takes a step forward then stops. Something feels off, it might have been something she said but something feels wrong. She hates attacking so many unknowns. Looking around she spots a maintenance walk on the second floor she should be able to reach. "Pup stay on my heels. Move as I move but stay behind me. If anything happens hide. You can move around easier then I can. If I fall find some one from OUR pack and stay with them. But for now cover me." Vesta ordered before moving as quickly and quietly as possible towards the second floor walkway. With no hesitation at the mention of 'our pack' Amarok sat up and then followed Vesta's orders.

Once inside the pair made their way deeper in, careful to move as quietly as possible. It was hard to see till the got close to one of the forges. As the round a corner Vesta froze, there a few feet away stood a Tenneth guard looking eye to eye with her. To her surprise the guard gave her a confused look, "Vesta? Vesta is that you ma'am? Where have you been? I thought you were dead. What are you doing here?" The guard asked. It took her a moment to recognize him, he was in her squad, the new guy, the one who had a crush on her. He had joined the squad not to long before she left. She had to hurry and act quick. In a some what genuine surprised voice, "Hey. I can't believe its you. Sorry I had to leave to clear my head after everything. But I'm back now." Whispering, "Pup hide." Amarok slide into a nearby corner, crouching down she darkened the corner even more just to be safe as she watch Vesta. Vesta walked up to the guard slowly, in a very mournful transitioning to more of a seductive voice, "I'm sorry I left. I missed you. You were always so caring and helpful. I..." before she could finish a voice came from down the walkway, "New blood is that you?" An other voice from the same direction, "Yeah kindling is that you?" And a third voice, "Are you talking to some one? Who do you have with you? We all know no one likes you." The guard Vesta had be talking with turns his head in the direction the voices are coming from, "You wont believe who I found." Vesta shuts her eyes for a moment, "I really wish you hadn't done that." She whispered just loud enough for him to hear it. Before he could react she thrust her claws into his throat. "Make an other noise and I cut out your throat." She whispered as blood starts dripping down her paw. The other guards move closer till their only a few feet away and notice Vesta. Using her hostage as a shield she watched as the other three guards spread out as much as they can on the narrow catwalk. She reaches over her hostage digging her claws into his side. Biting deep into the back of his neck as she rolls over him, she uses her momentum to throw the hostage at the middle guard. As she throws him, she slices throw his jugular. The body sprays blood everywhere as it lands just in front of the middle guard. Rolling to her paws she is nose to nose with the guard on the left. Vesta shots a column of fire up his nose and into his eyes. As he reals back in pain she goes for the kill, chomping down on his throat she throws her body back and pulls her head away. This rips his bloody trachea out, spraying arterial spray all over Vesta, the middle guard and the grated floor. Spinning around to face the guard on the right who quickly snaps himself out of his shocked state. He opens his mouth to attack only to have Vesta shove the blood covered trachea in to it. Well the guard starts chocking Vesta tries to move in only to slip on the blood covered grated floor. Dazed for a second she does not noticed a terrified Amarok step out of the shadows before running off. Vesta looks up as she slowly comes out of the daze to find herself under the guards belly. She blast him with a ray of fire strong enough to push him up over the low railing. The guard lands square on his back with the bloody trachea still sticking out of his mouth. Standing up, with blood dripping from her mouth and covering her face, she turns to the last guard. With a bloody smile and her eyes glowing of pure Tenneth rage, "You were supposed to be with my mother sir. You were supposed to protect my mother sir. You were supposed to defend our pack against all enemies sir. It looks like you failed again sir." She said in a rage filled voice. Vesta slashes his face with her blood covered paw. Grabbing and digging her claws into both sides of his head, "This is for my mother." And fires a concentrated blast into his right eye and holds it. His eye quickly burst as the ray burns its way in to his skull cavity were it starts to cook his brain. Once his brain is thoroughly cooked she continues the beam till it burns through the back of his head. Dropping him she limbs of, having hurt her leg when she slipped.

Amarok, having been thoroughly terrified by Vesta ran. She had no idea were she was running but she felt that as long as she kept going she was safe. After a while of running she stopped and curled up in a corner trying to cover her face with her paws the best she could. She had a feeling come over her, she remembered being this scared only once before, males from her pack were kill their way throw her home and she had no idea where her parents were. This of course brought no comfort to her, nor did the fact that due to how dark it was she couldn't summon her shadow friends. Try as she may she could not help up let out a soft cry. She lay in the corner afraid that if she move Vesta would find her and cried.

The Assault

It was time. As the Tenneth insurgents entered the factory, the first wave had already begun their initial skirmishes against the factory guards. The guards stumbling in the dark were taken by surprise as the Resistance assaulted those loyal to the Alpha. "What!? invaders you say!?" The Guard Captain shouted at a shaken subordinate. "Exactly what I said sir!! The Resistance is here!! Not only that but I think they hired Mercs!!!" The Guard shrieked. "WHAT!?" The Captain shouted exasperated. "Don't tell me the Trade is involved in this!? That's not possible!? How can third rate rebels afford any Trade Mercenary, no, they don't have those kind of resources! Any they have, they've stolen from us!!" He thought to himself.

"No, it must be free agents that they've somehow convinced to join their fight. Fools, they will perish along with the Resistance!" He concluded as he then spoke to his subordinate, "You! Gather the rest of the guards! We will mount a counter offensive! Will even have those Borak slouches involved in this fight too!!" He ordered. "R-Right sir!" The Wolf barked as he went to gather the others. While the first wave was feeling sure of their fight, it was about to take a drastic turn.

Meanwhile outside the Raid Leader spoke to the second wave captain. "Alright, you know your role, be sure that none of those Wolves intercept our bombers. They need to be able to deliver the payloads to each point of weakness. We are going to send this building crumbling to the ground!" He barked. "Yes sir. The carts with the kegs of blasting powder have just arrived. Soon we will unload and send them in." The captain responded. Soon he saw blasts of flames coming from the railing outside of the building. The fighting along the outside walls of the factory began. He could even see some bodies falling off the side of the railing.

"Good."

Back inside the Rebels continued their ferocious attack as Durandel found himself in the middle of a fire fight. "Flames!" He barked. "Of all the hallways, we come across the one with the most freaking guards!" He cursed to himself. The Resistance and the Guards traded fireballs as Durandel stood behind a wall. "How did we even get separated!? I thought we all went in at the same time!? I don't see Vesta, Amarok, Blue, or Nova!" He thought to himself. "Where ever they are, I hope they're doing better than we are!"

Luck seemed to be with the others. Nova and Blue haven't encountered more guards besides the ones whose paws where shredded by Nova's shards. As for Vesta, she wasn't drawing anymore attention to herself than any of the rebels were. Of course her brutal fight did draw some guards closer to her but they haven't realized yet where she was. Amarok was safely hidden for the moment. As for Summanus....

****

"Lady Doom, I've brought to you our little saboteur." She proudly proclaimed as she dropped an unconscious Summanus before the Borak General. "Good, Wolves! Tie him up!" She ordered. Moments passed as Summanus awoke to find himself in tied up to a nearby pillar. "Where am I?" He asked. "You're in the control room." Shimmer spoke. "Whose there!?" He barked. It was then his face was hit with a swipe from Atalanta, causing his face to bleed a little. "Show some respect!" She growled. "It's alright Atalanta, I'll forgive him of his little slight." She spoke. "Of course Lady Doom." Atalanta bowed. "Doom!? Shimmer Doom is here!?" He shouted as the initial shock settled in.

"Glad you remembered me, Wolfsbane. It's nice to know that my name garners such a reaction, and I didn't have to use some silly nickname either." She spoke. Atalanta giggled. "Hm, I should have known you'd be the one overseeing this little operation, though I didn't think you would be in the same building as the workers." Summanus spoke. "Normally, I wouldn't but this little operation, as you put it, has some significance to our partners. They would like to see it's construction finished and they asked me to make sure it's completed on schedule." She responded. Summanus gritted his teeth together, this attack is going to be more costly than he thought. Not only is Atalanta one of the most dangerous Mercs he's ever had the displeasure of working with, Shimmer Doom is said to be an extremely capable fighter. She would have to be to have Atalanta so willingly follow her orders, not just follow them, but to have such a zeal about her. She's definitely not the same rebellious She-Wolf he once knew.

"So...just what is being built that the great Shimmer Doom had to grace everyone with her presence for?" He asked rather sarcastically. Atalanta growled something fierce but Shimmer told her to simmer down. "I could explain it to you but I don't feel like sharing any such valuable info with a saboteur...really, you've downgraded yourself quite a bit Summanus. Why are you working for such a disparate group like the one you're involved with? You were quite a legend in the Trade, Atalanta has told me so much about you and when I hired you to help conquer the Kitas, well, I clearly saw why. Yet, to this day, I cannot fathom for the life of me why you did not decide to join us? Your skills are sorely going to waste working with these fools that think they can just simply stop other wolves from killing each other." She spoke.

"Hmph, like you would know anything?" Summanus retorted. "I know quite a bit Summanus, I know that you've been traveling with three Kamarians, an Ausi, and a Canicus." She revealed. "What!?" Summanus gasped. "It's too bad that Alvan and that Avira aren't with you anymore, I know a certain someone who would like to have his property reclaimed." She smirked. "So it is true! You are working with Rashid!" He shouted. "Regardless of whom I'm working with, you and your friends little rebellion is about to come to an end. I'll admit, having you shut off our lights was the smart thing to do, but we are smarter, Wolfsbane. We anticipated this and in about a few minutes the back-up generator will be operational. Soon we will see all your little friends and we will swiftly have them eliminated! For you see, Atalanta has personally trained a group of assassins that serve as my personal guard. Once the order is given, they will systematically kill all hostiles in the building. I doubt untrained, low class Tenneths can stack up well against a squad of elite warriors." She laughed.

Summanus growled. "Damn, if only I could get away and warn the others but with both Shimmer Doom and Atalanta in the same room I won't be able to. If I was being detained by some grunts it wouldn't be a problem, but they were smart. They knew not to underestimate me and decided to lock me in a room with the two most deadliest fighters in the factory. If I even try something clever they'll catch on and fighting them both head on would be a bad idea. No, I'll have to sit and wait for an opportunity to escape." He thought to himself.

"I can see by the tense expression you're thinking of a way out of this. Hmph, you're not going anywhere you know? But, I didn't become a General by being cocksure. I pride myself on being thorough and I'm not about to have everything ruined just because I have the upper hand. No, your time here is over, you're not going to be present for the death of your silly little friends!" She barked as electricity began to swell around her. Static sparked off her rising fur as Shimmer prepared to launch a might bolt of lightning. "Don't worry Wolfsbane. I don't plan to kill you, no, you will suffer much before then." She chuckled. "Oh and if you plan to use my lightning against me, I'm afraid Atalanta tipped me off about your skills. I'll make sure I shock you long and hard enough that you'll be the one to pass out!" She shouted as she then fired the bolt at Summanus. "Damn." He thought to himself as he was struck.

Summanus shouted in pain as the electricity surged throughout his body. He felt his energy rising but it was too fast! Her elemental control is indeed powerful! A few more minutes of this and he'll be overcharged! If that happens then the excess energy will be released against his will! Causing him to pass out from the pain! And before he knew it, it happened. He exploded a barrier of electricity as Atalanta fled, not wishing to pass out from a severe shock. The field came closer and closer to Shimmer but boldly she stood, keeping the pressure up and before it could reach, the former Merc passed out. Shimmer then stumbled a bit. "Lady Doom!?" Atalanta spoke concerned. "He's a tough one, that's for sure. Most wolves would have died from that attack, but I suppose I shouldn't expect less from the one they call, Wolfsbane. I even a feel a little lightheaded...Atalanta!" She barked. "Keep the factory safe! Repel all intruders! I'm leaving!" Shimmer ordered.

"Were are you going, if I may ask Lady Doom?" Shimmer then looked over to her faithful subordinate. "I'll be personally escorting Summanus to the Palace. I'm sure Rashid will love to have such a warrior in his service." She said with an evil grin. "Guards!" she barked. A pair of Boraks came rushing in. "Yes, General!?" "Pack this one up, we're leaving through the hidden exit!" She ordered. "Right away!" They responded in unison. It was then the back-up generator powered on. Soon the lights returned, illuminating the factory once more. "Excellent, I leave the rest to you Atalanta." She spoke as she walked out. "You can rely on me, Lady Doom." Atalanta said with a bow.

****

The Resistance was stunned, to say the least, when they noticed the power returning to the building. "FLAMES!!" The Raid Leader barked. "Sir?" A worried Rebel spoke. "Keep the kegs coming!! We must continue with the offensive!!! This building must be destroyed!!" He barked. "YES SIR!!!" The Rebels then accelerated the pace of placing the bombs throughout the building, but is it already too late?

Mydnyte suddenly felt scared once those lights returned. So far sneaking the rebels in was a piece of cake, even with those barrels. But now the lights have returned and the shadows retreated. It was then he noticed that Amarok was not with them. "DAMMIT!! Did she go in!?" Mydnyte thought to himself. "FANG!!!" He called. "Yes!?" He answered. "Amarok! You need to find her now!!" He ordered. "Uh, okay but what about the rebels!? The lights are back on!!" He cried. "Just leave it to me!! NOW GO!!" He barked. Fang then ran inside as he hoped he could find the young Kamarian before something terrible happens.

The more Amarok tried to put her fear aside the more memories broke through a mental barrier she never knew she had. As her mind filled with suppressed memories she began to loss focus on the present. That is till she tripped over something that brought her mind racing back. Looking at what she tripped on, she sees a dead Tenneth's face a paws width from hers. An image of a dead Kamaria female flashes in her mind, it was the first time she ever saw a dead wolf. Jumping to her feet, backing away Amarok bumps into some thing else. Once again spinning around to see what it is, and once again its an other Tenneth corps. Looking around only to find herself in the middle of a small group of corpses. This brought a very vivid image to mind. A group of male Kamaria were killing their way through a dark valley, lead by a one she quickly identified as her father. This caused a flood of repressed memories. Stumbling away with a massive headache, finds herself at an intersection were she see a guard walk right pass her. The guard was distracted by something below him. Shaking what she can of the headache and memories away, she decided to follow the guard to find out what had him so distracted. Walking into the next room she could see through the grated floor, it was Fang. This cleared her head, "Oh no you don't" She thought. Approaching the guard from the back, who had positioned himself in the middle of the catwalk with a perfect shot at fang, just as he is about to fire Amarok summons her shadow friends to quietly get the guards attention. He turns and fires a shot at what he thought was a taller wolf causing the shot to go a little high. Unfortunately not high enough to totally miss, the flame burn down her whole back. Enrage by the pain and the memories she is able to keep from howling in pain. Instead she feels a darkness build inside her, both new yet it feels like its been there her whole life, in response she gives the guard an evil, maniacal smile. In a low enough whisper for just the guard to hear, "My turn." Lunging forward she has her shadow completely engulf the guard as she bits the right side of his neck. Under estimating what it would take to bring him down, she lets go and drops into a defensive stance. See that her hit did not work, an image from Vesta's fight flashed across her mind and as if by instinct as the guard brought his head around to engage her she attacked. This time with an uppercut to his jaw, and as his head moved out of the way she bit his throat, puncturing his artery and his trachea. Releasing him the guards lungs start to fill with blood as he both chocks and bleeds to death spraying blood everywhere. Amarok turns towards Fang, her eyes as black as the night and stone-faced with blood dripping from her mouth.

Meanwhile, Vesta decides to back up to where she first saw the guard."Pup. Pup... Flames. I'm going to burn this place to ash if anything happened to her." she calls out. Not knowing were her friend went, Vesta decided to change things up. Finding a diagonal support beam that runs under the walkway, she jumps on it and slide down. Just before hitting the wall she jumps off and batches her landing, hurting her leg more. Forcing herself back to her paws she limped down the corridor. Entering the next room she hears, "HEY YOU!" a young guardsmen called over to Vesta. "HEY WE NEED TO REGROUP FOLLOW ME!" Figuring this might work to her advantage she follows him. "New orders. Time to regroup to counter attack." The guard kept talking as he lead her through the factory. He lead them into a large open room with a walkway that ran the full length around the rooms upper level. There were at less seven guard on the walkway. Once the two of them reach the center of the room the patrol captain turned to face them. Calling down to Vesta and her escort, "HEY NEW BLOOD! YOU KNOW THIS FACTORY IS UNDER ATTACK RIGHT? SO WHY IN THE BLAZES WOULD YOU BE ESCORTING ONE OF THE REBELS? GUARDS! KILL THEM BOTH!" The young guardsmen clearly caught speechless just looked between the captain and Vesta. Knowing she had to act fast, she scanned the room. There was four doors on her level each in the center of all four walls and no visible way up to the walkway. This left her with a no win situation, but listening to the words of her parents who believed that there is no such thing as a no win situation, she did the one thing she could. "I AM VESTA AINE! MY FATHER WAS WARRIOR BOUND TO PROMETHEUS! I INVOKE MY RIGHT OF BLOOD AS LAST OF MY LINE! I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO THE WARRIOR MY FATHER WAS BOUND TO. I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO PROMETHEUS!" Hoping she got it right and that the old ways still mean something, or at the very less this might buy her time.

The Counter

It was time, as the Rebels moved in deeper, and deeper into the factory, the forces of Prometheus began to enclose upon them. The Wolves had gathered, the orders were about to be given. Yet there came a pause as the Patrol Captain looked towards the injured Vesta who had been unwittingly taken right to them. Of course the Captain had every intent on having her gunned by a hail of fireballs but her following words had instead caused confusion.

"I AM VESTA AINE! MY FATHER WAS WARRIOR BOUND TO PROMETHEUS! I INVOKE MY RIGHT OF BLOOD AS LAST OF MY LINE! I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO THE WARRIOR MY FATHER WAS BOUND TO. I DEMAND TO SPEAK TO PROMETHEUS!

The Tenneth Guards looked amongst themselves, seeking some sort of answer to this newfound conundrum. "Captain, what shall we do?" Asked one of the more curious souls. The Captain stared down Vesta something fierce but even he questioned about just killing this blasted intruder. The Captain had considered her words a mere ploy to buy her sometime. After all, how could a dirty rebel like her have any affiliation to their esteemed Alpha? The Captain cared little for her recital, they all had orders from the Alpha to guard this factory against any and all intruders, no matter who they are.

"Sir?" The guard asked again. "Take her out." He ordered. The guards then prepared to launch a volley at Vesta.

Now that Shimmer has left the building with the unconscious Summanus, this left Atalanta in charge of it's defense. Gathered to her were five deadly warriors of the Borak that serve as Shimmer's guard. "You called us, Atalanta?" spoke Warisha as she led the other five into the control room. "Yes I have my dear. We have orders from Lady Doom herself that I am to execute." Atalanta spoke. "Oh, I hope we get to kill somebody this time!" Kallik barked. "Calm down, there will be a chance." She said with a smirk. Kallik then chuckled to himself. "Here are your orders. As you can tell we are under attack by the Resistance and it seems they seek to destroy the device. Shimmer Doom has left the protection of the factory in our care! So I want each and everyone of you to kill the rebels along with any other fool that stands beside them! Got it!?" She barked.

"Of course." Warisha responded. "The interlopers will indeed die." Shantil spoke. "I can't wait." Kallik chuckled. "Mhm." Tornil responded. "And this is by any means necessary I presume?" asked Relis. "Like you need to ask that?" Atalanta chuckled. "Just being thorough m'am." Relis responded. "Well, don't let me stop you, go, I don't expect this to be much of a problem for you all." Atalanta finished as the group of Boraks left. Each took off towards points of interest as they went about their own way of dealing with the intruders.

As Nova and the Rebels continue to toss out whatever they thought to be of some value, Nova's fears were about to be realized. The contemplative Relis, saw this as an opportunity to remove a cluster of their enemies all at once. He ordered a group of Tenneth to quickly seal their only exit. Per Relis's orders the Guards shut the doors and then welded them shut with their fire. Across the way from the office was a railing providing the Boraks with a clear vantage point to fire indiscriminately into the room. Relis moved his Boraks into position as one of the Rebels looked through the large windows to see that they were surrounded. His heart dropped. "EVERYONE TAKE COVER NOW!!!!" He shouted in fear.

"Fire." Relis ordered. The Boraks hurled lightning bolts right through the large windows as Rebels were being struck down. With no place to run there only option was to take cover either underneath the desks or behind the cabinet. The situation looked bleak.

The battle in the hallway was intense, but the Rebels were gaining ground in the dark. If only Durandel can see better then he could use his element without fearing of hurting the Rebels. Then his answer came in the sudden return of the light. It was blinding at first but once his eyes acclimated he could see his fellow Rebels stumbling about. It took a few moments but everyone's eyes adjusted. He could see that there was a lot of Tenneth guards but before the fighting could resume he saw the patrol retreat. "What's going on?" Durandel wondered.

"They've retreated!!! Now's our chance move! Move! We need to capture the shop floor!!" The Squad Leader barked. It was then the Resistance ran down the halls as Durandel followed closely behind. It was odd, there was a lot of resistance when they barely just entered the building and now nothing. Even as they moved deeper into the factory he thought surely there would be another attack by now right? It was then they ran across a few of the guards who seemed to be heading somewhere. "THE RESISTANCE!!" They barked.

The Rebels opened fire as the outnumbered patrol retreated for their lives. "Retreat, Retreat!" The barked as they ran for it. "Should we go after them?" Asked a rebel. "Belay that action! The Shop Floor is our number one priority!" The Squad Leader barked as they continued onward. Something just didn't seem right, where are the guards all running off too? Are they seriously winning? That's what Durandel hoped but soon his hopes were dashed when the Resistance reached the shop floor. It was a large room where all the workers labored towards the production of many items. Durandel couldn't tell from all of the work stations which one contained the superweapon but that didn't matter.

The Rebels had run right into a trap. For as soon as they entered the room there was a large force of guards waiting for them. "So they were all running to get here!?" Durandel gasped. He and the rebels knew they were seriously outnumbered. "TAKE COVER!!" The Squad Leader barked as an all out battle took place in the shop floor. Durandel quickly dived behind a work desk as fireballs were flung over head. Looking towards a cluster of guards, Durandel summoned his element as a small eruption took place underneath their paws. "WATCH OUT!!! A CANICUS IS AMONG THEM!!!" The Second Patrol Captain barked as he saw a handful of his wolves being suddenly engulfed in lava.

Now it was just a matter of trying to get out of this mess he's found himself in.

"AMAROK!!! AMAROK!!" Fang called out as he tried to look for the young Kamarian. He couldn't lock on to her scent thanks to the smell of blood hanging in the air. He would have to rely on his sight and hearing this time. Of course she could be anywhere and with the sound of battle echoing throughout the hallways, it was tough. He saw many bodies as he got deeper and deeper inside the building. His heart was pounding as he looked over each body, giving a breath of relief when he didn't find Amarok among them. She must be hiding somewhere, seeing all of this death, he's certain that she must have used her shadows to get away from all of this. The only question is where?

"AMAROK!!! AMAROK!!! WHERE ARE YOU!?" He cried. It wasn't before long that his yelling caught the attention of some Tenneth who sought to attack him when he wasn't looking. That Fire Wolf would have succeeded too if it weren't for Amarok's sudden outburst of violence. Fang took notice of the fight as he headed up to where Amarok was, worried that she was about to be killed. What he found instead was the exact opposite, Amarok had brutally murdered his would be killer! There was something off about her, this was not the same Shadow Wolf he knew. Concerned, Fang slowly approached her.

"Amarok? Amarok? It's me Fang. It's okay, everything is going to be alright." He said in a soothing voice. "I'm here now, I'm here and I'm going to get us out of this place! Doesn't that sound nice, huh? Soon will be away from all of this madness, you'd like that, right?" He asked. He wasn't quite sure what expect but he'd hope Amarok would see him as a friend and not an enemy. That happy and childlike She-Wolf is still in there, right?

Blue

Everything was in an uproar, all Soldiers heading toward the factory as if they were a current of water all being sucked into a whirlpool. It reminded Blue of a far off stream along side a field of grass as green as an Aven. A home to the Blue that didn't exist anymore. She sneezed, and stopped to hide inside a building when some Boraks passed her by. That's a lot of Mercenaries. Doesn't it feel like they're over doing it though? She watched their tails saunter around the corner, and was about ready to continue her observations when she smelt it. The smell that was so familiar to her she thought one of her... siblings was there, that is until she turned and saw it.

Firepowder.

Lots of it, barrels upon barrels. No doubt a huge supply to help the mining situation.

The barrels they were in were dark, stained by their contents. Blue smiled, and with a small glance outside, saw that she had been heading upwards. While the whirlpool of fighting was downwards. The idea that she hatched was so vicious and maddening that she fell in love with it immediately. All it needed was a swift and wiley she-wolf to enact it.

"Besides, the Rebels appear to be having a little bit of trouble. Helping them out doesn't seem so bad, right?" She talked to herself, all the while grinning like a fool. Or was she talking to the shadows? Who knew say for the madness that suddenly taken it's hold on her.

The plan was simple, easy, and efficient in taking out a large group of Borak and Prometheans. That is if it worked. And it all counted on Blue being fast enough to light them all quickly enough without getting caught. Not to mention getting the Barrels out to their designated areas without someone getting suspicious. It would be easy for something to go wrong, but Blue was keen on the idea so the mere fact that it was one big flaw didn't deter her at all.

She got to work, rolling out a barrel and then waiting for the perfect moment to roll it out and ferry it to another hiding spot again and again until she could get it to its spot. And then she'd had to scuttle back to where the Barrels were stored to do it again, and again, and again. It was tedious, heart pounding work seeing as how she couldn't just go about moving them out in the open. It was time consuming and it all wouldn't have worked if the Tenneth and Borak soldiers weren't all occupied with the rebels in the factory. She was lucky though, as one group of Tenneths had noticed her but seeing her wearing Tenneth armor, they shouted orders for her to do something. It was all too loud for her and all she could through the adrenaline filled haze she had going on, was to nod and grunt an agreement. Then she turned as if she was going to do whatever they had just told her to do. And once she turned a corner, she quickly made an alternate route to the supply of firepowder.

Once there, she let out a huge breathe, "That was close."

Blue shook her entire body, hating the weight of the armor she wore. It would probably weigh her down, but if she didn't wear it... She growled, and left it on.

With that, Blue continued her work until finally, she had placed the last barrel and all she was doing now was running a line of firepowder from each section of hidden explosives to the upper street where there weren't as many enemy soldiers. It was quicker then placing the Barrels, though she did have to fumble for a bag of some sort to create the lines. But she ended up using a Tenneth banner, leaving a hole in at the bottom so the firepowder could leak out to leave the lines. Finally, she was to finished. It was perfect...

*****

Finally, Blue stood out in the open with a torch in her mouth. Staring down at the mass of fighting forces below, inside and outside the factory. She was above it all in this moment. Her racing heart, the soaring temperatures and the smell of burning... things. Their warring actions were a distance thing to her, far and untouchable. It all was except for the flame that was almost too close to her muzzle for comfort, and with its every flickering, her breathe would catch.
Do it.
Blue turned, silently and swiftled she ran forward and ducked her head almost too close to the ground every yard or so. Letting the torch she held, touch and spark the firepowder into being, creating a spark that ran down alongside the buildings until it met Blue's hidden explosives.

At first, she was sure the Tenneth and Borak soldiers had no idea what was going on, until the first explosion. It knocked out a weight bearing column, and one after another, explosions rocked the earth. And then, it all went down! The buildings opposite the factory, behind enemy lines, they fell in the only direction gravity would let them. Downwards, right into the soldiers.

It wasn't until Blue was half way through with lighting the lines that the Tenneth wised up and began targeting her. Fireballs and lightning were terribly fast to be directed at her. Several times, Blue thought her tail was on fire, but through it, she kept running, lighting all her lines of firepowder speeding up once she saw the last part of her plan.

Amazingly, she reached the end of her plan. Which was just releasing the Barrels she had placed at the top of the higher side of Hepheastus city to roll in on the Boraks and light the firepowder they left in their wake so as to cause the biggest explosion yet. And she did so with joy.

The barrels rolled downwards, loud and rumbling as they fell into the unguarded backs of the Tenneth soldiers outside the main door of the factory. Surprised and confused, the soldiers looked up to where the Barrels came from to see a trail of firepowder ending at Blue's paws. And in their last moments, all they saw was Blue dropping the torch, and then a bright light that seared their eyeballs into their skulls until all that left was light.

The last explosion, the biggest and brightest yet, shook the ground and blew up not only Tenneth and Borak soldiers but the nearby buildings. Blue wasn't even the closest to it and she was covering her ears with paws, ducking down to avoid being hit with flying debris that the explosion had shot upwards and sideways.

She was so occupied with this, and enjoying her work when a small fireball hit her from behind. The air was knocked out of her chest as she felt herself somersault forward right into a building wall. There was a crack, and all she saw was darkness.

Standing as tall and proud as she could, Vesta waited for her fiery death. She had tried to think of a way out but it all ended the same, so for once in her life she decided not to fight, to except things for how they are and to let it happen. Just before her execution could start the patrol captain raised a paw, "HOLD YOUR FIRE!" his ears were up scanning around. A moment later everyone could hear what had drawn his attention, the sound of several explosions in the distance rang through the factory. "PATROL ON ME! WE ARE FALLING BACK! WE MUST PROTECT THE HEART OF THE FACTORY! OUR FRIENDS WILL DEAL WITH THESE TWO!"[b] Looking down at Vesta, "You traitor. I hope you die a traitors death. And if I should see you again, I will make sure it is as slow and painful as possible." As soon as he finished, he turned and ran out the doorway behind him. One of the flanking officers followed well the other turned to the other patrolmen, [b]"YOU HEARD THE CAPTAIN! MOVE OUT!" He waited till all the other patrolmen had left before turning his attention on Vesta. After studying her for a moment the officer respectfully nods before walking out the door. Vesta gave it a ten count before turning to the guard who brought her here. Pouncing on him, she puts her left paw on his neck and lowers her head so she is looking him in the eyes. "Now you are going to tell me the fastest way to get ahead of them or I am going to kill you were you lie." Gasping for air as Vesta starts to apply more pressure to his neck. "The old walkway. We don't use it anymore but it will bypass most everything. Since we don't use it, its falling apart. You'll be lucky to get ten feet before it gives out under you. We blocked of the stairs to keep anyone from using it. There should be a staircase behind a wall panel in a maintenance room. Should be at the end of that hall." He motion towards a doorway on the side wall. Standing up and taking a few steps back, "Ok you can stand up. And don't worry I want kill you were you lie." Relived to still be alive the guard stands up and starts walking towards the door he came through. "Oh guard. I'm not sure how to tell you but I sure the captain has sent word that your with us so I would stay away from them. Then again I don't think that the resistance would take the chance with you so I would avoid them to. But well we are at it I minus well help you... die. You are a coward and a fool. Now die as one." As she was talking the guard turned to face her, but as she was finishing he turned away. Once finished, she shot a column of fire that hit him square in the hind quarters and engulf him. After a moment, she turned and ran out the door the guard motioned at. Quickly moving down the hall checking every corner and door she found the maintenance room. Knocking on the walls she found a loss panel. Behind it was an old spiral staircase. Moving up it as fast as she could, she came to an intersection, quickly picking what she hoped was the right way she continued her run. Not minute later she saw flashes of light, then nothing. Nearing were the light had came from she peered over the railing-less edge of her high walk. It was to dark, only a little light from fires burning in a office or control room. Taking a few steps she stopped, a group was trying to burn their way in, "I wonder resistance trying to save our people or..." she started whispering to herself but was interrupted when she saw a wolf jump from a window. But that wolf was no Tenneth nor did what she saw look like a Borak. The only other wolves here she knew about were her new friends. Quickly moving back to the edge to see if she could get a better look, one of the support cables gave out and Vesta fell. Hitting the lower catwalk, a support beam and a crate she came to rest on the ground floor in, the dark. Dazed by her fall and the sheer pain she was in, she manged to get to her paws and stubble her way towards where she saw the wolf jump. Trying to piece together all see saw was proving difficult due to how clouded her head was. She could tell it wasn't one of the Kamaria, or Summanus, so that left either Durandel or Nova.

********

Seeing Fang approach, Amarok turned towards him. Staring eye to eye it was not hard for Fang to notice the darkness that had overcome the young wolf. Her eyes seemed to have turned pitch black and it seemed to extend all the way to her soul. "Amarok? Amarok? It's me Fang. It's okay, everything is going to be alright. I'm here now, I'm here and I'm going to get us out of this place! Doesn't that sound nice, huh? Soon will be away from all of this madness, you'd like that, right?" As he spoke, his words seemed to reach what was left of the happy pup-like she-wolf. Her eyes cleared and shined once more though it was clear that a war was raging inside her. The pain and suffering she was going through was clear as day, and Fang, a fellow Kamaria, he could see a very dark shadow growing inside her eyes. Though her eyes cleared her stance never changed. "Fang...? I ... I remember. I remember everything." She said in a weak, hurting almost remorseful voice. "WAIT! Where is Mydnyte. He needs to know. He needs to know I remember our home. Our Pack. And... Vesta... where is Vesta? She, she isn't right. There is something wrong with her. We must help her. I remember the grove, I think my mother knew her and was bringing me there. I think My mother knew something was wrong here. Fang I need help." Amarok looked panicked and the more worked up she got the more she seemed to revert back to being herself.

The Breakdown

Things seemed to have went from bad to worse. This plan was risky but who knew it would go so horribly wrong? Maybe it was Tenneth Pride blinding them from the fact they went in outmanned and outgunned. It takes more than pluck to win the war and it seemed all too apparent this night. The Rebels did their best to carry out the mission but they were taking a beating and it would seem they would have to abort, while they still could. That was until the unthinkable happened.

A huge explosion ripped through the industrial district destroying the nearby buildings. Not only did it scatter the Prometheans, it even managed to take out some of them. That was until debris from the aforementioned buildings came blasting it's way through the walls of the factory. One such piece of a large wall came crashing through the roof and slamming it's way through the platform Relis and his Boraks were standing. "BY THE GODS!?!" Relis screamed as he felt the floor underneath his paws give way as he and his Wolves fell to the factory floor below. Unfortunately, Nova was falling to the ground himself.

Mydnyte being on the outside of the building saw the explosions first hand as he found himself dodging random bits of debris. The rebels around him suddenly abandoned their positions and ran for the hills. Such cowards! He thought but perhaps they are the smart ones. Staying around this warzone would prove disastrous for him. It was good fortune that the Kamarian wasn't afraid of a little light show; because when he turned around he saw Nova falling to what he could only believe is his doom. Not even thinking, Mydnyte ran as fast as he could. Before Nova could hit the ground with a splat, Mydnyte jumped underneath the Ausi as he used his own body to cushion Nova's fall. "GRAH!" He shouted as he felt Nova's weight crash full force into him. This would hurt them both but at least Nova would not only live, but walk again.

"N-Nova...!" Mydnyte wheezed. "A-are you still alive?" He asked. "Come on...we gotta get out of here." He said as he attempted to stand both himself and Nova up.

_______

The fight on the factory floor took a rather unexpected turn, to say the least. While Durandel seemed to be virtually fending off every dang Borak and Tenneth that comes by, the huge explosion ended up rattling the entire building. What's worse is that chunks of stone and mortar came flying in as it pelted each faction like a hailstorm. While this made the fighting even more unpredictable it did provide Durandel the necessary distraction to cause another eruption underneath a signifcant portion of the enemies, who thought it prudent to reel back and regroup in light of the current circumstances. This caused the majority of them to be on fire, killing even the patrol captain. It was a lucky break, or so he thought. A bark came from behind him, "YOU!" Durandel turned to see who addressed him.

What he saw was a rather sizable Borak who carried himself with such authority, he must be some sort of elite in his opinion. "You are quite the fighter, Canicus, I've been watching you and I have to say, I am rather impressed. Despite the pressure you've managed to not only endure but capitalize on it. I have order the rest of my Wolves to step back. I wish to fight such a worthy opponent myself." Tornil spoke. Great, now Durandel as to deal with some macho warrior. He didn't have any time for this! He had to get out of here and see if his friends are doing alright! It was then some of the insurgents came to provide him the necessary distraction. They came charging at Tornil who easily dispatched them with couple of quick lightning bolts.

The Borak then noticed his paws getting rather hot. Taking this cue, Tornil quickly jumped away from an eruption, Durandel had caused. This of course took Durandel by surprise, most Wolves don't have the reflexes to avoid a direct hit like that. This guy has been watching him great. Before he knew Durandel was immediately struck by a lightning bolt causing him to go down. "GAH!!" He cried in pain. "Pay attention Canicus, I don't wish for your death so soon. Not until I am satisfied with our duel!" He barked. Durandel shakily, stood upon his paws. He had to get out of here. Tornil fired again but this time Durandel was ready who sidestepped the attack. He then jumped for the puddle of lava he made as scooped up a mouthful of the molten rock and the spat it at Tornil. Tornil dodged the attack as he countered with another bolt. Durandel ducked as he charged at Tornil, taking the Borak by surprise. He knocked him down and proceed to claw at his face.

Tornil guarded his face with his paws as best he could as he kicked at Durandel with his back paws. Durandel groaned in pain as Tornil's back claws dug into his side, forcing Durandel to back off. Tornil leapt forward and clawed Durandel across his muzzle. Durandel reeling back, felt his blood begin to drip into how mouth. This was bad, this guy knows how to fight and he knows that he clearly has the upper hand. Tornil then closes the gap as he continues to swipe at Durandel. The Canicus does his best to avoid his slashes but Tornil manages to prove himself the faster one, as he gets in a few good licks. He could feel the claws dig into his haunches as more blood begins to drip. "Come now, Canicus, you seemed to be quite confident back there...what happened to all of your bravado?" Tornil taunted.

"I say your the one whose getting too confident!" Durandel barked as he stomped his paws. Behind him the lava shot up like a geyser as the molten rock began to fall down like rain. Tornil did his best to dodge but some of the drops had managed to land causing him to burn. Tornil yelped in pain he then stared down Durandel firing a bolt of lightning. This struck Durandel dead on as he fell back into his own lava pit. Tornil dropped and rolled, trying to remove the bits of lava currently burning his flesh off. "SIR!" A Borak cried. "I'M FINE!" Tornil barked. The Borak looked over to see that Durandel has sunk into the pit. "Come out of there! I know you're hiding from me!" Tornil barked. Durandel couldn't continue this fight, at this rate they might just end up killing each other. Instead Durandel swam for another pit he made earlier, he hoped to slip away before Tornil could have a chance to react.

Fang was both relieved and concerned. He seemed to have gotten through to her but she was hysterical. Fang tried his best to ease her down. "Amarok, calm down, we will go and find the others but now's not the time to be hysterical, understand?" Fang spoke as calmingly as he could. "I know, everything is scary right now, heck, I'm scared myself! But we've got to be brave alright? Once we're out of this mess, you can tell us whatever it is you need to tell us, deal?" Fang reasoned.

Then suddenly the building seemed to have shook, as a boom rang out through the building. "Now what!?" Fang griped. As he heard the sounds of crashing all around them. "I got a bad feeling about all of this...come on, Amarok! We gotta go now!" He cried.

__________

Blue's efforts have certainly caused a lot of confusion and damage for both sides. Though now it seems the insurgents now have the necessary distraction to carry out the rest of the mission. For the few that weren't so affected, they managed to place the remaining blasting kegs around the building. "Alright, let's light the long fuse and get the hell out of here!" A rebel barked. The Rebels set the changes as they lit the barrels. It would be about ten minutes before the barrels would explode.

As for Blue herself, well, it didn't look good for her. "Nice shot sir!" A Tenneth barked. "Damn, dirty, Rebel! They don't care who they hurt so long as they ruin all the good Prometheus has done!" Another Tenneth responded. "What should we do wit her sir?" The subordinate Tenneth asked. "We'll take her to the dungeons! Perhaps we can get some answers out of this one!" The Leader ordered. The Tenneth then proceeded to scoop her up.

As Fang's words reached Amarok and acted as a tether to pull her back to the reality of their situation. "Your right Fang. I'm sorry. We have to get out of here then find the others." Looking for some sign of the exit she spots an opening in the wall. "There Fang. At the end of the walk is an opening. It maybe a bit of a drop but it looks to be the closest way out and its away from the explosions." Unknown to Amarok was just how bad of shape Vesta was in. Between her rage, blood lust, a possible minor concussion, the blood in her eyes and nose, the noise of the factory and the explosions which weren't helping her situation, Vesta had become very disoriented. Staring through blurry eyes at where she thought the wolf should be, she could make a the silhouette of a wolf. This wolf was familiar to her. "Father?!" As she spoke, shrapnel tore through the wolf. "FATHER!" Continuing to stubble forward, something caught her attention. On a walkway just past where her "father" had been standing was two wolves and one almost looked like they were celebrating. Enraged even more by this and the fact the cowardly wolf was now running away she fired a beam at it. Thanks to her blurred vision the beam missed Amarok but hit one of the supports taking out half the walk. Amarok believing she was being attack by a Promethean, carefully hurried across what was left of the walk. Under fire she continued to make her way towards the wall. Having to jump from the walk to a wall or support or other debris Amarok pressed forwards never taking her eyes of her way out. "COME ON FANG! ALMOST THERE! FORGET ABOUT THE TENNETH! WE'LL BE SAFE ON THE OTHER SIDE!" With only a little singed fur Amarok jump through the opening in the wall. "FOLLOW ME FANG!" Landing on the side of a small hill her legs slide out from under her in the loss sulfuric rock. Sliding down she let out a soft sigh and lay where she stopped, trying to regather her thoughts.

Mean while an even more enrage Vesta turned towards were the explosion had been coming from and stumbled her way though what was left of the crumbling factory. Crawling under a fallen support beam she emerged and made her way to the top of the ridge were she turn around and laid down defeated and exhausted. She laid there watching the factory burn and for the first time in a long time felt nothing and had nothing on her mind, she was just there. It was like the whole world went silent and she could just lay there and watch. As she did her eyes slowly closed.

What more could possibly go wrong tonight? Not only did it seem, as if the city was on fire, it seemed as if this factory was looking, less like a factory and more like a tomb. Debris crumbles as many a wolf decide to run for the exits. It seemed the Rebels have manage to scare off the works as they flee like birds from a fire. Yet there work was not done, those brave few who went forward with the plan, planted their barrels and went to lit. "Alright do it!" Cried a Rebel as they lit their fuses, having set forward the events that should follow, it is up to our heroes to escape before the building explodes.

Durandel reached an open spot as he crawled forth unto solid land, he can hear in the background of the Prometheans searching for him but he couldn't be bothered to care. If the plan is still in motion, then he needs to be leaving, he just hoped the others got out of this mess. Hurt, Durandel limped his way to a most convenient exit, it seemed part of the wall collapsed as he saw part of the ceiling gone. A rather large chunk of rock must have broken off some the support beams and those pieces of metal came crashing down on the wall. Durandel, with pained breath, climbed over the pile of rock and metal and came to see the outside. He could hear howling from all around. Apparent some wolves are fighting the flames, good, leaves less Tenneths to be out searching for them.

Now if he could just limp away without incident, he just might make it through this.

______________

Fang was happy to hear the young Kamarian calm herself. He couldn't help but agree, "Great! Let's just hope the others have found away of this deathtrap!" He barked. He followed closely behind Amarok when suddenly he felt part of his footing give way. "Whoa!" He shouted. Part of the floor had suddenly disappeared and it seemed half of Fang was dangling in the air. He saw Amarok shimmy her way towards an exit. "Wait! Amarok, AMAROK!" He shouted. He tried to lift himself up onto the railing that still stood that was when he heard a laugh.

"HAHAHAHA! What is this!? A wolf hanging on for dear life?" The voice mocked as Fang looked over his shoulder. There in the corridor they had left stood a Wolf, his fur color was a golden brown, an uncommon fur color among Tenneths, it must be one of those Boraks. From there, Kallik with a vile grin watched as Fang attempted to pull himself through. "Now, now, I was on my way to kill, whoever, gave off that sublime murderous scent. Was that you, dangling there?" He asked. Fang didn't have any reason to give this Wolf any time of day, and instead resolved himself to pushing forward. "Not the talkative type eh? That's fine I don't need any more reasons to kill you, interloper!" He chuckled.

"Now the question remains, how shall I do it? Should I clip you in the back right now? Maybe, or how about I shoot the remaining support and watch it drop and see if you survive the fall?" He mused. "Great, chatty and crazy, nice combination." Fang thought to himself. "Then again, maybe I should just let you go." He spoke. Fang whipped his head over his shoulder at the very suggestion. "Did he just say let me go?" He thought to himself over and over, only to have his thoughts interrupted by Kallik. "Yeah you heard me. From what I hear from our little friend, Shantil, you wolves are quite the dangerous lot. You blow up half the district, managing to do in Relis, and even gave Tornil a run for his money." Kallik laughed. "Then that bloodlust, you are quite the interesting group of outsiders I have seen...it would be a shame to end it all without seeing what you're fully capable of. I do love a challenge." He said with a grin. "Besides even if I went through with it, I wouldn't have the time to enjoy it...since this place is rigged to blow with barrels of firepowder." Kallik finished.

Fang was surprised yet again. He suspected the Prometheans would figure out what happened here but not before the end of the raid! He had to move, if he didn't he could end up a rather charred Wolf! "So I'll leave you be for now, but just know I have your scent, we will meet again." And with that Kallik turned away back down the corridor he came. Fang managed to hoist himself over and then carefully made his way to the exit that Amarok had found earlier. He jumped out the window but also tumbled due to the loose soil. Thankfully he landed beside Amarok. "Oh Amarok! You're safe, that's good but we can't rest here. Soon this place is about to blow and we'll be caught in it if we don't move!" Fang warned as he stood himself up. He looked up to see a path that leads up the ridge and back on to the backstreets. "I think we can get out over here." He said as he walked upon the path. As he walked up he soon saw another Wolf, at first he worried if it was a Promethean, but the body did not move. Where they dead?

Then he caught a scent, wait, that was familiar. Upon closer inspection he realized it was one of their own. "Vesta? Vesta!" He shouted. He ran over to her. "No, please don't be dead." He said in an upset manner. "Amarok over here, I found Vesta! She needs help!" He shouted to the Kamarian.

________

Mydnyte was genuinely relieved to hear the Ausi respond. "What a mess this was." He said, almost lamenting. "Right, well one of the designated escape routes is not far from this side of the building. If we head over this way, we should be able to get out of this chaos and in good time too. I'm sure the rest of the factory is about to explode like the rest of the district." Mydnyte spoke as he moved forward. He looked over to Nova who asked about the initial explosion. "Not sure, blowing up the rest of the district was not apart of the plan or the contingency plan. Someone else did that, I assume it was one of our own, specifically, I couldn't guess who. But I guess it worked out in our favor, in an ironic sort of way, at least provided the necessary distract to finish the mission...I just wished it wasn't so destructive." Mydnyte finished. "I just hope the others will make it out in time." Mydnyte added.

________

It seemed this particular brigade of Prometheans is having quite the worst night in recent memory. Besides having to dodge fire and rock, it would seem their previously unconscious prisoner has returned to her senses. Not only that but thrown up over one of her captors. "Damn! You disgusting rebel, how dare you throw up on my fur?!" He barked as he made a swipe towards Blue. "Enough of the ruckus! Drag the rebel if you have to, she is going to pay for what she has done, her along with all of her little friends!" The Captain barked. They move to push her along.

As she laid there, images started to appear in Vesta's mind. An image of her home, of her parents. She could hear her mother's soft caring voice, "Always remember a Tenneth is never truly alone. We maybe prideful but we will always come to the aid of another. The strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack. Remember the oasis, remember sky above, earth below, fire within." Her eyes still closed she can't help but smile. The image changes to one of her and her father on an outcropping over looking Lakeside. Is strong, proud, yet loving voice echos in he mind, "My daughter, you are the biggest bless to ever happen to us, maybe even the biggest to happen to our pack. But one must know their place. You are a daughter of the flames of the Vulcans, each of us an embodiment of our home, bless by our ancestors. For as long as there is an ember left of a true Tenneth then our pack and the Vulcans can never die. I believe you more then anyone else, even more so the Prometheus embodiment everything it is to be a Tenneth. Just don't tell him I said that. Oh and because your mother would kill me for not saying, and trust me, she scares me more then anyone. Our flame is one of the... " The image quickly fades as it feels like some one is shaking her, and the voice of her mother shouts in her mind "GET UP! BY THE FLAME, DAUGHTER YOU MUST GET UP! NOW!" Opening her eyes she can just make out what looks like two wolves coming her way. Slowly forcing her way to her paws, "Mother? Father?" She whispers. As her vision clears she can see that its Fang with Amarok in tow. "By the flames am I happy to see the two of you. How are you? Were are the others?" She said happily as the two got close.

Amarok, who had jumped to her paws when she heard Fang call out that Vesta needed help, ran over to Vesta with a huge smile seeing her stand up. "How are we? How are you? You OK? You kinda scared me earlier." Turning to Fang, "So... Whats the plan now? Don't know how we are ever going to find everyone after that let alone finish this." Looking to either of them, "You think the others are OK?" She said worriedly.

Once regulated to being his secondary senses, the sounds and smells of the burning were the only means of Nova's navigation. The crackling of flames, the cries of the injured, the groaning of collapsing structures, all complimented by the smell of the burnt. If he put that all behind him, he was moving in the right direction. Though they were not out of the thick of things yet, the ice wolf began feel as if the tension of immediate conflict was subsiding. He could not hear any wolf making a dash at them, and he hadn't scented anything living save Mydnyte. He just had to keep putting one paw in front of the other.

It was some time before Nova noticed anything change. Besides the occasional muse passed between himself and the Kamarian, it had been a solemn pick through the rubble and ruin. But then a voice was heard, and Nova froze. It spoke again, and again. It kept on speaking, and judging by the tone, questioning. And then another, shifting in tone. "...we are ever going to find everyone after that let alone finish this. You think the others are OK?" It was Vesta.

Nova's heart lept. If Vesta was talking so familiarly, that could only mean that others were near by. Nova's voice choked on ash as he tried to call out, hoping to clear the obstruction that had been muffling their voices. "We're not too okay, but we're still here!" It probably wasn't the wisest thing to speak so loudly, but Nova lost himself in the moment. He wanted nothing more than another friendly voice.

The Aftermath

Born out of something between desperation and hope, the plan to destroy the factory had in fact been a success, though a costly one. Many of the Rebels that didn't die, did manage to escape the factory before the inevitable explosion began. Having covered some distance between themselves and the fiery factory, the kegs of explosives that have been planted, had exploded. Anyone left inside would be doomed as fire undid the metal, rock, and stone as the rest of the caving building had finally collapsed.

Boom.

***

Durandel managed to sneak his way out in time, but being the closest to his blast ended up flinging the poor Canicus down the street. "GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" He shouted as he bounced along cobblestone street. He felt his whole body writhe in pain as a constant ringing reverberates in his ears. He could not hear anything anymore, not even the sound of his own cries of pain, which were considerable. He couldn't move, he was paralyzed by the pain as well as blinded. This wouldn't be good, if it weren't for the blast deafening all other noises. Luckily for him the confusion and the fires provided all the distractions he would need. Durandel vision started to return, albeit blurry, but he could make out the street around him. No one was around, he needed to get up, now was his chance, he needed to move. Durandel willed himself to stand but he would only take a few pained steps before he dropped again. It doesn't seem like he will be able to walk away from this. With no other option, he began to crawl, crawl away to a nearby alley. He hoped he would run into some friendlies soon enough.

***

Mydnyte looked to the battered Ausi and then over to the Factory. They had put enough distance between them to no feel the adverse effects of a nearby blast. Mydnyte coughed. "Looks like we did it." He said not feeling particularly victorious. "I wonder if anyone else made it?" Mydnyte questioned to himself. It was then his question was answered in the form of Vesta. Nova, hearing the Tenneth first, decided to make a go for it. Mydnyte nearly stunned, moved after Nova, and while the hardened Kamarian would never admit it, he was relieved to see his friends alive. "I should have guessed that we weren't the only ones to stubborn to die." Mydnyte spoke.

Fang happy to see not only Vesta but was ecstatic to see Nova and Mydnyte. "You're not getting rid of us that easily!" Fang laughed, even though it pained him. "That was some blast, huh?" Fang spoke to the group. Mydnyte looked around and noticed that they were missing a few of their comrades. "Where's Durandel and Blue? Have you seen them?" Mydnyte asked. Fang looked around and shook his head. "I don't know where they are. We're just lucky to have escaped from the Factory alive." Fang said rather gloomily. Mydnyte's face tightened up. "We need to find them, I'm not about to leave anyone behind." Mydnyte spoke. "What about the others?" Fang asked. Mydnyte looked to the group, "Some of us are badly injured, we need to get our injured to safety first. I want you to handle that Fang, I'll stay behind and look for any stragglers." Mydnyte decided. "What if they're injured? You can't carry them alone if they are. Let me help you." Fang argued. "No, right now the priority for you is for us to save those we know are still alive. I'm not sure if Durandel or Blue made it, and I don't want to waste any more precious blood on the chance that they made it. Besides, I'm the one that convinced all of us to commit to this plan, despite the obvious risks. It's my responsibility alone to make sure everyone that's alive, makes it home." Mydnyte responded.

Though Fang didn't agree, he nevertheless accepted his orders. "Alright, I'll make sure those of us that are here, make it to the rendezvous but you better make it back too Mydnyte." Fang spoke. "I will not let's get moving, the rest of the city guard will be here soon." Mydnyte spoke. With that Mydnyte went back to look for the rest and Fang asked the rest of the group to follow him. "By the Gods, I pray that we all make it out of this alive." He said aloud. Fang then led the group to the rendezvous point, it was an old shop that was ran by a former Cendrillion supporter. After Prometheus rose to power, all those who defied his rule were taken into custody. This location was pretty far from the factory, and made for a good point to wait, especially since the tunnel system had a secret entry point nearby.

As Fang led Nova, Vesta, and Amarok inside, all he could do was pace around waiting for Mydnyte to return. "Hey Vesta, Amarok." He spoke, "Since this is a Resistance hideout, I'm sure there must be some supplies lying around here. Could you check it around, Nova needs some medicine badly." He said looking towards the Ausi. "In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for anyone. The city is bound to be crawling with Prometheans and I don't want Mydnyte to be caught without anyone to help him." Fang spoke.

***

Mydnyte looked around as best he could avoiding any areas that were rather noisy. He could hear Prometheans barking orders to check the rubble for any survivors. He had to find the others as quickly and as quietly as possible. It was then he noticed a trail of blood, whose blood he wasn't sure but it lead down a dark alley. Knowing the Rebels used the alleys he decided to follow the trail. Once he did, he picked up a scent from the blood that was familiar. This caused Mydnyte to hasten his pace that was when he recognized the scent belong to one of their own, and that was when he found Durandel lying in a gutter. "Durandel!" Mydnyte called out as he rushed to the Canicus's side. He was badly injured. "Durandel! Durandel, are you alright?" He asked. Durandel weakly looks up to Mydnyte, he coughed, "Is that you Mydnyte?" Mydnyte nodded. "Come one let's get you up." Mydnyte said as he raised the Canicus to his feet. "Lean on me, and I'll get you to the hideout." Mydnyte spoke. "Are you sure that's wise? I hear the enemy all around us...you're not going to be able to sneak me past them, not with me bleeding out...they'll smell the blood." Durandel spoke.

"Let me worry about that, come on, I'm not leaving you behind." Mydnyte said as he carried Durandel along. "Please...I don't want to drag you down too." Durandel protested. "Shut it! I'm doing this whether you like it or not, we are in this together, for better or for worse." Mydnyte growled. Durandel nodded as the two hobbled down the street. It would take a miracle for them to make it out alive. Mydnyte looked all around him, trying to avoid anyone he could but it was slow-going and he feared the worse when he heard some around the corner. The sound of pawsteps was getting closer to them. "Damn, looks like we've been spotted. "Mydnyte barked. He then laid Durandel down, "I'll try to get rid of them, by the sounds of it, it just sounds like one Wolf." Mydnyte then went on ahead and around the corner, the Kamarian jumped out and then, to his surprise, it was Blue. "Blue!?" The Kamarian gasped. "Thank the Gods! I thought you were an enemy! Good, I can use your help, Durandel is in a bad spot and we need to get back to the hideout...the others are already there." Mydnyte informed Blue. "Let's hope the Gods are looking out for us and we'll get back before the enemy finds us." Mydnyte spoke as he lead Blue back to Durandel. "I'll help him move along, I'm going to need you to watch our backs." Mydnyte said as he helped Durandel up.

"Hey Blue, it's nice to see you." Durandel wheezed as he looked towards the she-wolf. "Don't speak, you need to focus whatever energy you have left to move." Mydnyte reminded Durandel. "Come on let's go."

Blossom

Blossom clearly made a mistake...

"Feathers, you're tellin' me you dragged us up here to go somewhere you don't know where it is, to do something you don't know what to do?!" Tiberius exclaimed, his frustration causing his voice to rise above its previous whisper. "We're gonna die up here, Feathers!"

Blossom flinched and slapped her wing over Tiberius in a pretend huddle away from Chaz. "Shhhhhh! He almost heard you!" She whispered roughly, then pulling away just as quickly as she grabbed Tiberius.

"We just got to keep going!" She shouted, "I bet we're almost there!"

The one winged she-wolf ran ahead of Chaz, throwing caution to the wind as she came up to a rise to see.... smoke, and fire. She felt a hollow sense of... something. Something like pain in her chest but mixed with something else.... Ah, she was hurting because others were hurting. It tore her apart on the inside and without bothering to wait for Tiberius, she bolted toward the city of fire dens. Her kind Aven nature had taken over, despite everything else telling her to turn the other way. For she was small but certainly courageous enough to help fate move forward.

After all, she was here to meet her fate anyways.

*****

"Hello!" Blossom shouted into the city, ignoring the heat. For some odd reason, no one had seen her or stopped her. Maybe they didn't see her at all? Well, she had just entered the city and seen no hide or tail of a fire wolf, or any wolf for that matter. Maybe they were all at the far end of the city where the fire and smoke was the worst? The walkways and rock dens she saw were all eerily silent.

Either way, Blossom was afraid and if a fire wolf didn't kill her then Tiberius definitely would with his shouting when he caught up to her. She let out a whine, suddenly hearing voices. Wolves! Living ones!

"-is a Resistance hideout, I'm sure there must be some supplies lying around here. Could you check it around, Nova needs some medicine badly. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for anyone. The city is bound to be crawling with Prometheans and I don't want Mydnyte to be caught without anyone to help him."

Blossom wanted to rush forward and help, as she did run straight into a half burning city but... there was a stream of lava in her way. She wanted to jump over it but odds were she would fall short and died in a puddle of lava. So.... she decided to backtrack a bit and go around to the other side.

Her detour was easy and working just fine, save for the pile of lava rocks she tripped and knocked over. The sound of the rocks falling and hitting the building side wall was loud! It made her freeze hoping no fire wolves heard that. It would be bad to get killed now.

After a few seconds of not getting anyone's attention she turned a corner and standing in front of her was a big, burly and not to mention burning wolf glaring at her. So much for not getting anyone's attention. Was this fire wolf eavesdropping on the voices she was trying to get to? Maybe he was because he let out an almost silent growl and lunged forward, aiming for her puny neck.

Her ears and tails immediately went down and she let out an ear piercing shriek.

Nova

The resistance hideout had little of the quiet care and homeliness that the base they had planned the raid from had. From the musky smell and the dirt flooring, Nova supposed they were in little more than a cellar. Probably dark too, but then what wasn't to him. The Ausi extended a leg to feel around, feeling self-conscious as he imagined other wolves watching him. Oh look at that poor wolf, can't even find a spot to lay down. Hopefully he doesn't trip over the others and make a mess. The imagined thoughts of pity did not subside when Nova at last felt something like a cot. Relief. He collapsed on the stretched fabric frame as soon as he verified the bed space was vacant enough.

The ice wolf heard Fang say something about taking watch, but little else beyond that. His sightless eyes stared up at the ceiling as Nova focused on his breathing. He wanted, no, needed to sleep. That universal solace for problems that he couldn't deal with now. All the pain, stress, and despair would be a future Nova's problem. The now Nova could just drift off into the elixir of slumber. No other desire gripped his mind like sleep. Not even thirst. Though his throat had become numb to the constant demands for drink, Nova knew asking for water would just mean another delay to his resting. He had to seize this moment before it was taken from him, even if it was to be for just five minutes. The Ausi prayed in a muttered verse that Shanice was calm his racing mind, that his ears would stop out the clamor going on around him.

Crossing Paths

Chaz was doing his best to lead these young Wolves to the Embassy. Chaz looked all around him anxiously trying to make sure no Fire Wolf sees him with these two. He had a story but he wasn't confident he could pull of it. He was certain someone would see right through his deceptions! Chaz was never the best liar and was often at the mercies of such Wolves, being as gullible as he is. Still, Chaz did notice something odd, thanks to his constant awareness. They're back in the city but he hasn't seen a single wolf yet. It's nighttime but it's not that late already, is it? He wasn't sure he hadn't looked at the time.

Because of the eeriness of the scene it started to unnerve Chaz, to the point he wasn't paying attention to where he was going. Because of this fluke he drifted towards the industrial sector of the city instead of towards the middle of the city. That was when one of his unwanted charges decide to run right past him. "Huh!?" This caught him off guard as he let Blossom get way ahead of him. By the time he realized what happened, Tiberius raced past him too. "W-wait!! Don't go that way!!!" Chaz ran after them. They were definitely faster than poor Chaz, he was never the best sprinter and would run out of breath quite easily. Still he didn't want those two Wolves to get hurt. They were nice to him!

"W-Why!? W-Wh-Why are you r-r-running?! D-Didn't Ch-Chaz do-a-good-job!?" Chaz wheezed. Tonight was definitely not Chaz's night! He began to wonder why does everything bad happen to him!? It seems Chaz's life was designed to be one series of bad accidents from another. Yet, what was about to happen to Chaz next will be the greatest series of misfortunes he will ever have. Nothing his life will ever compare to this moment in time. Worse that the time he drank lava, worse than the time he lost a wrestling contest to a random she-wolf in front of the barracks, and worse than the time he accidentally peed in the Captain's favorite eating bowl! Chaz never thought his legs would work after running twenty-five laps for twenty-five days! And you would think his cardio at the very least improved, but it really didn't.

Still, Chaz was determined, not to lose those young Wolves and pushed himself to follow them, even though he was running out of breath. That was when he caught up to Tiberius. Finally! Success! "Tyeh-Tyeh-Tyeh-Tyeh-Berius!!" Chaz coughed. "Wh-Why-are-you-running?!" He asked at a loud pant. That was when he heard that shrilling shriek. Chaz's ears perked up as he began to shake and shiver. "W-Wasn't that the other one!?" He cried. Chaz then moved on ahead hoping that he was wrong. That was when he finally saw Blossom but she wasn't alone. Before her was one of the Tenneth guards and a big one too. "BWAHHH! FEATHERS!!!" He cried out. She was too far away from him to help, his fireballs are not only puny, but only travel an inch or two from his mouth after he spits one out. Besides he was too scared to try even if he could! Just looking at the Guard has him trembling! He would wipe the floor with poor Chaz if he got involved! "That's it!!! She's a goner!!!" He cried aloud.

That was when a dark wolf dashed forth and went into intercept the Tenneth and Blossom. Chaz saw this and could tell a fight was about to go down. "OH GODS!!! I can't watch!!" Chaz cried as he ducked and placed his paws over his eyes.

Few Moments Earlier...

Fang was keeping out a watch for Mydnyte, whiled the others tended to Nova. Fang was admittedly tense, he could hear the distant howls of the Tenneth as they went about a search and rescue effort among the rubble. He could swear he heard their howls getting closer and closer to where they are. Fang nervously scratched at a wooden pillar, etching claw marks into the board. "Come on, come on, make it back you guys." He muttered to himself. That was when he heard something cling off the side of the building. "Huh? What was that?" He wondered. He thought it might have been nothing but it could be Mydnyte. It seemed strange for him to approach from the side rather than through the front. Of course he could be doing that to avoid attention.

Fang moved and looked though a loose board to see out the window. It was there he saw a She-Wolf he had never seen before. He thought her another Tenneth until he saw the giant wing. "Wait-!? What-!?" He thought to himself. "Why is there an Avira out here of all places?" Fang was thoroughly confused. That was then she made that shriek, surprised, Fang looked over to where the Avira was seeing and noticed a Tenneth! "Oh crap!" Fang blurted out. He wasn't sure who that Wolf was but she definitely wasn't a Promethean and she was in danger! Not taking much time to analyze the situation, Fang ran out to intercept the lunging Tenneth. Outside, Fang charged at the Tenneth full speed. He hoped he could stop him in time, there weren't any shadows around him to use. Not only they were out in the middle of the street away from the buildings, but no lights were on and the moon was covered by the clouds of smoke.

Still he couldn't let that poor Wolf just get chomped and torn apart. It was then the Tenneth noticed a dark wolf come charging at him. The brute turned his maw towards the greater threat but before he could launch a fireball, Fang had clawed at his face. "GRAH!" The Tenneth bellowed in pain. Then the Fire Wolf lashed back out at his attacker. Luckily Fang was quicker and managed to avoid the Wolf's swipes. It was then Fang bit at the Tenneth's neck. The Tenneth shook his scruff, breaking Fang's bit attempt. The Tenneth bit at Fang's muzzle as the Kamarian quickly backsteps. Damn, he could really use as shadow right now. That was then he remembered Mydnyte's special technique! "If there were no shadows to exploit you just have to create your own darkness." Mydnyte voice said in Fang's mind. Darkforce, he wasn't good at creating it yet, in fact his technique was sloppy. But at this moment in time, that technique was his best bet.

Concentrating on the very Element that runs in his blood; Fang imagined dark shadows forming around his claws. "Quit moving around so much!!" The Tenneth barked, growing frustrated that he hasn't hit Fang yet. "Just a little more." Fang thought to himself as he focused on making the shadows thicker. Soon a noticeable darkness began to emanate from Fang's claws. It looked like a thick, black fog had shot from Fang's claws it slashed right through the Tenneth's face. Deep claw marks formed on the Fire Wolf's face as blood gushes forth! "AARGH!" The Wolf cried as blood began to blind him. Now was Fang's chance, Fang raised a paw and slashed right through the Wolf's throat as blood spewed forth. Then, the Tenneth doubled over and buckled onto the ground. Fang had did it and without a scratch, but, boy, was he tired. "Whoa, that Dark Claw move does take alot out of ya." Fang chuckled to himself. He then looked at Blossom, "Are you alright?" He asked.
