In California, there are only sides that really matter in large state and that is the east and the west. These two sides have the highest population combined but both sides are very, very different from each other. The east side consists mostly of Caucasians and Hispanics, all of who learns or speaks Spanish fluently, while the west side consists mostly of Caucasians and African-Americans, all of who are wealthy and practically entitled. The hatred between both sides are not kept on the hush-hush and the schools on both sides have a rather long and intense rivalry that has often been settled by any form of violence. And today, that certainly has not changed very much between the coastal students that attend their appropriate high schools.

Both schools, San Bernardino High and Orange County High, are known for their excellence in academics. Both schools have students that are fighting, and that's really the literal term, for the top spot and their prize is a trophy that they get to keep for over the whole entire summer and flaunt their success. But if they are a senior student then the prize is academic scholarship, paid in full to their desired college. The climb to the top is really, really competitive at both schools but when San Bernardino High is burned halfway down, the competition just might get a bit fiercer for both sides. Why? Some of the students from the east side has been chosen to travel eighteen miles to Orange County, California and be placed in the confines of their biggest competition yet at Orange County High upon the new school year.

But the one mystery remains is who was behind the burning of the beloved San Bernardino High school building but Orange County High isn't free from their own secrets either. The students of San Bernardino have no idea that last year, a student was killed at the school they are arriving to because he was sitting upon the high horse and close to winning the trophy. Jealousy reared its ugly head and the student that killed Caleb McGuire last year is still at Orange County High but of course, no one knows who it truly is. That dark and ominous cloud still looms over the prestigious elite school and with the new students entering their domain, how will the new year be panned out when secret alliances are formed and others are broken, clashes of different lifestyles, resentment along with hatred and envy and romantic and sexual tension comes up? Friends will turn on friends and relationships will be divided and broken up.

Welcome to Orange County High, San Bernardino students, let's just hope that you'll be able to survive the back and forth puppetry game that will be played amongst you all. But do not worry, the students of Orange County will certainly not go unscathed this year.
