For Justice, it’s all about looking fresh and clean. Even back in Detroit, his boys were always trying to keep up with Boogie’s swag. Although he didn’t have a lot growing up, he always knew how to put together a dope outfit out of what his parents could afford. And he takes good care of what he does have. He wasn’t always able to get the newest Jordan’s or Yeezys. But even if he had to take a trip to the local Goodwill with his mom, he was coming up with a fit all his own that set trends in the neighborhood or at least got people talking - good or bad. To him, that’s better than indifference. He digs snap backs and colorful unexpected prints on hoodies and graphic-t's. He definitely has no problem with standing out and likes to make statements while still keeping it slightly ghetto-fab/hood/Detroit.

Justice's face is one that expresses emotion well. If he's angry you'll know. If he's happy, you'll know. He has nice full lips and a big wide smile with bright white teeth that he's pretty proud of and will gladly show-off to admirers and haters alike. His dark eyes can also be rather intimidating when he's in a certain mood, and he's mastered the art of looking unapproachable when needed. But for the most part, this golden-brown ball of energy walks around confidently and a little cocky. He's got a solid frame, and stays pretty active. He likes to keep hair full but short. It can look a little disheveled sometimes from all the hats he likes to wear.

Lately Justice has been trying to practice tact and not saying the first thing that comes to his mind. Instead, he'll grind his teeth or tense his jaw to keep from running his mouth. He likes to make beats on desks, lockers, or lunch counters when he's board. He also has a habit of chewing on pen caps. He keeps a mirror in his locker to make sure he's always looking fresh.

Q U I R K S
Singing off-key to his favorite R&B songs is a favorite past-time and favorite flirting technique of his. He has the loudest laugh. It sometimes startles the people around him, but his joy is so infectious that they forget about that initial reaction and can’t help but join in. He loves being the center of attention and is a bit of a flirt. When he's thinking, he likes to rub at the facial hair that just came in full last year. He also has his left ear pierced.

Justice is a man of extremes. He rarely spends much time just being mellow, unless he's trying to impress a girl. He loves to laugh boisterously and smile big and makes sure the people around him are having a good time. He knows how to get a crowd going, how to party hard, and how to work a room. But he definitely has a few red buttons that can push him to the other extremes, though he's gotten slightly better at holding his tongue. Justice is a bit of a hot-head and can jump to conclusions quickly in a situation. It can take a lot to bring him down once he's all riled up. For the most part though, he tries to keep that Black Boy Joy. He's extremely loyal, to a fault. He takes friendship very seriously and doesn't play games when it comes to protecting the people he loves. He's definitely confident and doesn't give up easily. He's a little cocky and refuses to let anybody see him sweat.

F A M I L Y: THE FREDRICKS

Justin and Shaunice were high school sweethearts who got pregnant right before graduation. Although young and scared, they made the choice to keep the baby and raise him with the help of Justin’s parents in Southside Detroit. Never married, they would get together and then break-up repeatedly, but they made sure to always be there for their son. Currently, they are on good terms and are pretty decent in terms of co-parenting. It is Justin’s sister, Ruby, who is currently watching over their β€˜Boogie’ as they try to work a few things out back in Detroit.

JUSTIN KING FREDRICKS

Justice's relationship with his father is rocky at times. There is definitely love there, but because Justin wants his son to start making better choices, he can be rather hard on him. He is hard-working man, but he is also very stubborn and doesn't allow a lot of room for his son to fail and grow. The clash in their personalities has been going on for a few years now, and the icing on the cake for Juss was his father's decision to ship him out to California.

SHAUNICE NEVAEH MATHISON

Image

Juss is definitely a mama's boy in that he would do anything to make her happy. She is a beautiful soul and doesn't ask much from Justice, only that he be a good person. Her parents practically disowned her when she got pregnant so young. She's been through a lot, and Justice would fight tooth and nail to see her always taken care of.

GRANDMA JUNE FREDRICKS

Image

Grandma June is a spitfire of a woman who holds nothing back. She has always been in Justice's corner and will let him know when he's 'acting a fool'. She sees that special spark in her grandson, knowing he's called to be something great in this world. She can be a little tough, but she knows how to season her words with love and understanding.

AUNTY RUBY ANNE FREDRICKS

Image

His father's younger sister, Aunty Ruby is living the life Justice dreams about. She left Detroit after high school and moved out to California where she studied for and pursued a career in entertainment management. Now, she manages some of the brightest stars in Hollywood and makes big money. She was able to pull a few strings and get Justice enrolled into Orange County. She doesn't have any kids of her own just yet, but she loves Boogie like he's her own. She's got that same fire as Grandma June and can be real with Justice about where his life is headed.

H I S T O R Y
Justice was born on the southside of Detroit and co-parented by his mother, father, and paternal grandparents. He grew up in a neighborhood where loyalty and trust went a long way. His hood looked out for one another and wasn't very friendly to outsiders. Being the attractive personality that Justice is, he made friends rather quickly and found himself running around with kids who liked to stir up trouble. His grandmother was the one always reminding him to be careful and not to get caught up with the wrong folk. She paid the most attention to him, being that his parents were kind of young and still trying to figure things out between the two of them. Grandma June knew her grandson was special and smarter than what he was getting into.

Unfortunately, all the messing around caught up to him his sophomore year of high school back in Detroit. His best friend, Robert, made some wrong moves with a few senior guys from a rival high school. Right before summer started, Justice found himself in the middle of the chaos when a huge fight broke out in their school courtyard. Wanting to protect his friend, he jumped into it and ended up walking away with a broken arm and a busted up face. Luckily, he and his friend got away before the cops got involved, but the fight frightened his family. They'd seen boys their son's age get shot and killed over less. The last thing his father wanted was to see Justice miss out on his chance to be great.

Next thing he knew, against his will, he was being shipped out to live with his rich aunt Ruby in California, his father's sister. Justice felt abandoned and angry with his parents for sending him so far away from everything he'd ever known - from those closest to him. He carries a slight chip on his shoulder, but knows if he does his best at this new boujee school, he can at least make some bigger moves once school ends. He's determined to make the best of a crappy situation.

He's still trying to figure out just what he wants to pursue, but his aunt swears up and down that the sky is the limit for him. She pulled some strings to get him into Orange County High School, and she expects nothing but good grades and good choices from him.
