They say home is where the heart is. My home is in thewold.

Description

Image
(Note:This is her and her brother.)

The Name is: Calika Venturous Taurvantian (She just tells people to call her Vee)

My Age: 16

Gender: Female

I'm Affiliated With: Shira-yuri

I'm a: Elf

My Powers Include:

-Partial shapeshifting, meaning she can't turn into the complete form of things and the closest she can get to a complete form is choosing things that are almost identical like a black cat's full body but a dragon's eye. Of course she can still turn into her complete self.

-She can speak to animals.

-At rare moments, when she's extremely emotional (sad, angry, etc.) she can use the elements. The most this has happened in a year was three times so it obviously doesn't happen often.

My Weaknesses are:

-If she tires herself out in a partially shapeshifted form she'd be stuck like that until she was properly rested.

-She can be startled easily by people sometimes since she is used to living a quiet life with with nature and animals. If this happens at stressful times she could lose control and badly hurt someone.

-She hates being trapped indoors for too long because she loves freedom and the outdoors. And if she is kept inside she gets fidgety, then curious, then ends up accidentally breaking/finding something she shouldn't or, in most cases, just getting out.

-Being able to speak to animals makes it harder to kill them for food so she'd track an animal for days on end (unless it's fish, most river/stream fish usually don't stay to protect their babies and just wander off) just to find out whether or not it has a family before she kills it. When she does kill it if it has family, she gives the family member(s) where the best supply of their kind of food is for the season. This usually ends with her being hungry for a while because she can rarely take breaks if she wants to keep up with her prey.

Scent Identification: She smells like wildflowers and rain.

Personality Check: Whether she's quiet or just shy, if you want to talk to her you have to speak first because she usually won't. She loves the outdoors and is great friends with the surrounding wildlife. Despite her quietness, if you get to know her or she doesn't think of you as someone bad she can become quite caring, loyal, kind, and protective. And due to being raised by the animals she's the kind of person that actually growls and hisses at people for getting too close, as a warning, or if she's just angry.

My Current History: She lived with her mother and brother in a home that was located in a secluded clearing in the woods with a stream passing through and a thick circle of trees surrounding the clearing. Her mother had told her that her father had been hunting a dragon when he disappeared, most likely dead. When she grew old enough to actually understand how dangerous what her father had done was she understood that it had been to make the world safer for her and her brother, Thalion. Later on, when Thalion was nineteen and Vee was fourteen, Thalion left to slay the dragon himself. He succeeded but the dragon had wounded him too greatly, he died of blood loss once he reached the edge of the woods. Vee then grew up and cared for her mother who was becoming sicker each day and died only a year after Thalion's death. Vee buried her mother next to her brother under a tree that her and her brother would climb as children. The rest of the time she was raised by the wild and still lives in the woods, helping lost people to their destinations without showing her face. To the nearby towns/villages/cities she has become known as Tawariell, meaning 'girl of the forest' in elven.

Anything Extra:
-She doesn't hold a grudge against all dragons, just the ones that kill for fun like the one that killed her father and brother.
-For her weapons, she always keeps a few knives hidden on her person and a sword at her hip. She usually only uses a bow and arrows for hunting.
-Being swift on her feet and as lithe as a cat doesn't make up for the fact that she can be extremely loud while conversing with animals even if she could just respond with the same chirps, meows, or any other sounds the animals use.
-If you can find her she would most likely be singing, playing with the animals, running, climbing a tree, swimming or hunting if it's around meal time.
-And of course, for clothes she trades naturally valuable things in that she finds in the outdoors such as medicinal plants, valuable stones, scrap metals and others.

So begins...

Vee breathed in the forest air as she strolled along the game trail where a few deer had strolled through a few days earlier. Smiling as she watched the wildlife working all around herself, she turned her right arm parallel to the ground and letting a squirrel jump onto her arm. She smiled down at the red furred squirrel as as she placed her other hand near the squirrel. It seemed to smile back up at her then picked a few choice berries and acorns from her hand and with a quick 'Thank you!' passed from its mind it hurried off. Vee decided to stop walking the trail for a while and instead caught sight of a tree with sturdy branches and plenty of room for her to move between. Wordlessly, she grabbed onto a branch and lifted herself upward, grabbing the next branch and then the next until she sat on a thick branch up against the tree trunk.

A little yellow-feathered finch flew up to her and then away again as if asking her to play without words. "Hey there little guy. Sorry, I just need to rest right now. Maybe later." It was true, she'd been walking the same long trail for miles since she had woken up and eaten. She had also run around as a wolf for an hour or two but didn't want to tire too quickly so she had changed back. Vee was suddenly distracted from her thoughts as an agitated rabbit hopped into a rabbit hole muttering something along the lines of '... elves... spooky looking guy... too many tails for a fox... forced to sneak around... sleep...'. She hadn't been able to catch everything it had said since she hadn't really been listening and was a bit far up a tree but she heard enough to think,So many people say that animals have no thoughts, if only they could understand the animals like I could.

As she closed her eyes and listened more intently to her surroundings she thought she heard people talking but she couldn't be sure. She wondered if some people were lost and if she should go help them but something about the tones of their voices didn't make it sound like they were lost. Just to be sure, she pulled the hood of cloak over her head and closed her eyes. She didn't want unknown people to see her face until she was sure they weren't anything that would mean her or any innocent thing harm. Going down branch by branch she finally reached the last of the branches and jumped with a quiet landing, preparing to be on her way towards the voices direction as she thouht, Once again, I set out to find if someone is lost in this wilderness I call nome. She began walking quietly to her target location, not knowing what to expect.

Vee neared the group a few minutes later and now watched them with a small amused smile. Only the bottom half of her face could be seen due to the shadows of her hood. What a strange group of people. Seems to be a couple of elves, a kitsune, a dragon boy, but the gray haired one... I don't know.

"Who are you?" The question was blunt, but Vee understood why he asked the question. The middle of a forest wasn't always the safest place.

She tilted her head slightly to the side and gave Irsire and the others a friendly smile. In the villages when she had been trading in some valuable stones for clothes she had heard people telling their friends of them getting lost in the woods and being helped out by a greencloaked woman, she was curious as to why they gave her the title Tawariell. She didn't think it was such a big deal even if it was helping people out of the woods. She shook herself from her thoughts and turned her head back up towards Irsire. "You might have heard the names Tawariell or Girl of the Forest being spoken in the village though I wouldn't expect it. But the animals of the wild know me as Vee, I prefer that name to the others." She was using the same voice she used whenever she helped a lost creature or what might be a lost creature to help calm them. The voice she chose to use could only be along the lines of kind, melodic, misterious, and soft. She rose her hands in the air to show she had no intention to use weapons. "I mean no harm, I'm merely wondering if you are lost. If you are I can show you to your destination or to the right path, all you have to do is ask."

So much had happened, and Renth was getting tired of holding the damned deer the entire time, not saying a thing. The scents of brimstone, "Dragon shit", fish, and charcoal all had wreaked havoc on his nose, letting it sting as he fought back the tears that would be very questionable. He glanced at the "Fox" and centered the smell of the fish and, dragon excrement. He would have to take that dragon guy's word for it, seeing as Renth never really met any dragons before. He would say something about how if the fox was to be eaten, anybody would have to fight him for the pelt, but decided against it. There was enough testosterone in the small amount of men, and he didn't want a power struggle to destroy his home.

Then there was a new smell. Another elf? Too fair of a smell to be male, such a relief.

"Who are you" The man of ...Brimstone had asked. To which she had explained that she was THE Tawariell, she had lead people out of the forest to their safety after losing there way. He always felt guilty, not helping anybody when they were trapped, and scared, but he had never had consolation when he was lost, so it was better that she helped the travelers that strayed from the path. Raising her hands... smart move, but the fact that she might use magic instead would be a thought that some would be blind to, even if it was her. You know who she is, why do you not trust her? Oh dammit, I have a deer carcass on my back, isn't she one of those one-with-nature-nuts?
"Well I grew up here, so we are definitely not lost." The last thing he wanted to appear as in front of a dragon, Mhisty, and whatever Irsire really was would have to be a fool who didn't even know the eay around his own house. "I'm Renth, don't believe we've properly met. The only thing I know about you though Tawariell is that you have been downwind for the last few moments, and that you genuinely mean us no harm. Thanks for the offer though." Whoops, might have traded idiot for jerk there. "If you wish to keep us company though, you're welcome to. We're just making our way to the nearest town, we're we can discuss a couple of things for our...", He made a double-take of this "Multi-Tailed" Walking gold-purse. Obviously wanting to know who the group was had to lead to more suspicion of what it's true purposes are, but if Mhisty was going to hold onto that thing it was a drawn bow, he couldn't do anything about it.

"Well, shall we set off then?" He started to walk in the direction of the nearest town. West, so towards the sun? Yah, that should be it.

Yokio's heart actually stopped being for a moment when a bloody dragon landed beside Mhisty Talos, only for his anger to heat up again. "Leden Senka. Bloody turncoat" He though to himself. He was a valued member of Fumes organization, but defected, and appartly had a few secrets about them with him. He decided that the wood elf wasn't the creature he wanted to kill the most right now.

When he rubbed his head, and told him to clean and something about smelling like dragon shit, he panicked for a moment. "How can he possibly smell that on me?". He calmed down when he realized that Leden had never seen his true form, nor had he ever talked to anyone besides Fume, so there was little chance he would connect two and two together. The wood elf was more worrisome, already didn't trust him, and this might lead him to a conclusion, but that is giving far to much credit to an Elf's thinking abilities.

The other elf appeared, asking them if they needed help, and the wood elf introduced himself, but not without giving him a look that was hungry for gold. He tightened his grip on Mhisty Talos, partly because it is what his tails did when he was nervous, but mostly because it played into the cute card he was playing.

"You are a dragon?" He asked Leden in an unsure voice, " I though all dragons were evil. That's what Momma always told us." He wanted answers from the dragon, but asking straight out would cause people to raise an eyebrow at him, not to mention he could get details about the group, trying to justify why Mhisty Talos kept a dragon in her company.

Mhisty Talos

Mhisty felt a breeze in the air. It wasn't exactly cold to her touch, as she purposely keeps her fire going to keep at a comfortable temperature, even if there was snow. So useful, fire is. She sighed mentally, wishing that the people of where she came from understood more that fire was not only destruction. Enough on those thoughts though. She looked up, seeing Leden. She can't thought of a nickname for him quite yet, but she would get to it eventually, she was sure.

"Hey, Leden, nice to see you again." She felt a greater pressure around her when the dragon had landed by Pionee's tails. She swept her gaze back to the figure that had now approached them. Irsire, so great he is, had to ask so directly. It was probably a good idea to have him around for sure, just in case she missed something. Naive she is at times and in love with giving people the benefit of the doubt. Her gaze snapped to the frigid dragon when he mentioned somewhere along the lines of eating the cute fox in her arms. She hugged tighter onto him, turning away slightly, "No one is hurting Pionee." He's given no reason to do so. She had to keep that in mind. Everyone around her was getting quite uncomfortable with this fox, either because of the fact he could be dangerous, or because she was giving him the attention. She turned her head to get a better look at this fox in her arms, "Not all dragons are evil. It depends on their character."

She was going to answer the other female elf who kindly approached them about being lost, but doing so would have only been redundant. She smiled however, towards this unknown elf. "We're heading over to the town north of here. This little fox here is so tired that we're taking him there, and we are on a mission for new recruits."

After hearing what Leden said next, about the stench of another dragon, she glanced over at Pionee. "Another dragon, Leden?" She had to trust his nose after all, a dragon knows another dragon's scent. "Do you recognize it?" She was curious. All the while, she decided she didn't want to stop walking, so she had continued onward, despite the fact there was someone here offering to show the way politely and all the testosterone around. All she wanted to do was get to this town, rest, recruit, and train there for maybe a day or so.

(( So much going on! I love it. I'm at school right now creating this post. xD It took me maybe twenty minutes to do so. If anyone catches any mistakes by me, as I'm trying to move sort of fast, please let me know and I'd gladly correct it. ))

Irsire smiled at Lenen “I guess the formalities is useless once you get to this age, it’s also nice to see you again. Had too much fun in the mountains?” He asked with a slight grin. Watching Lenen’s disposition change to something of disgust as he looked over to the fox Mhisty held gently in her arms. Irsire chuckled as he watched the dragon insult Yokio, comparing his smell to that of dragons shit. Lenen’s initial reaction was one of hate but then he quickly calmed down But Lady Talos was intent on keeping the little fox safe from the harm of anyone in the group, although he didn’t care much for the animal.

But the speech of another dragon was alarming, maybe this fox could be a problem for everyone after all. If this fox was around another dragon what could it have been doing to stay alive within its den. Irsire didn’t have such a powerful sense of smell he could only track humanoid creatures he had marked with his touch. It’s hard for him to distinguish some creatures from others.

The hooded figure that he had noticed earlier made her way onto the scene. She came off friendly at first giving the group a friendly and calming smile. “You might have heard the names Tawariell or Girl of the Forest being spoken in the village though I wouldn't expect it. But the animals of the wild know me as Vee, I prefer that name to the others." Vee spokely as she approached them.

Irsire smiled back and greeted her in the same respectable way, “My name is Irsire Xion: The lightning breaker. I’m sorry but I did not hear of your noble tales although you sound like a very respectable woman, it is my pleasure to meet your acquaintance,” Irsire bowed and then recomposed himself, Renth, entered the conversation conversing with the Vee speaking too her about the travel. Irsire didn’t have a problem with her coming with them, it would be nice to have another new face for travel. “And it’s the Lady’s choice, she wouldn’t mind you joining us for the trip.” Agreeing with Renth’s statement, Irsire gave another slight smile.

As Renth made his way away from the group holding the bucks lifeless body on his back. Irsire leaned against a tree close to Lady Talos, he awaited for words on the next move. A whole group he thought to himself, new faces and a renewed light in our possibility of winning against that damned dragon. If Irsire knew that things would get this bad, he would have killed the dragon when it was just in an egg. He wondered if the knights of the dark legion would even step in to stop the world from going to hell. Another demon realm would be very detrimental. He wondered even if he should tell any of them that he was a demon in the first place.

Pushing off the tree and following Lady Talos at a distance keeping his thoughts to himself.

Leden smiled at Mhisty as he greeted her, responding by smiling and returning the greeting. "It's great to see you too, Mhisty. Unfortunately, no, I don't recognize the dragon's scent. I don't like it, but that isn't saying much. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say the pup's den is in another dragon's territory. Doesn't mean he had anything to do with another dragon. If he did, I could imagine it might get pissed next time he's near it. The little guy will smell like me for days, or at least to other dragons. You guys... well, I think dragons might be a bit more hostile towards you for the rest of your lives. Sorry, wish I could help more. I don't know the dragon's scent. I get the feeling I should, but I don't." Leden grinned, walking beside Mhisty with his arms behind his head casually. He was always happy to see her, not just because she was pretty. Mhisty was a nice woman, and, even if he didn't like to admit it, Leden didn't have many he could really call his "friend", but Mhisty was as close to it as anyone. Dragons did tend to be solitary creatures, and simply the word "dragon" could strike fear and hatred into the hearts of others. Unfortunately, Leden hated being alone, an unusual trait for his species. Upon hearing Irsire's response, Leden grinned, chuckling a bit to himself.

"No matter what you say, you're still a kid to me." Leden said. "I'm still almost eight hundred years your elder, even if you're more mature physically. And yes, I enjoyed my time in the mountains, thank you for asking." Leden laughed to himself a bit. From time to time, he would venture into the snowy peaks, away from the others. As much as he liked Mhisty, she was too hot for him. Fire users always gave off extra body heat, and warmth bothered the ice dragon quite a bit. Rolling in the mountain snow was the perfect way to cool off, taking a break from the unnatural heat. That was what he always told them, but it wasn't the only reason for it. Mhisty was the only other Shira-Yuri member who knew that he couldn't take so much masculinity. Dragons always compete with others, and a male dragon being in a group comprised mostly of males didn't help him suppress his instinctual behavior like he needed to.

When Leden heard Mhisty tell the fox pup why she thought dragons weren't always evil, he had to smile. He had to admit it was a bit naive to think that, and Leden couldn't deny the presence of his innate desire to conquer and destroy. It was just the nature of dragons; they desire to have power, wealth, and general superiority over others. But perhaps Mhisty was right. Leden had managed not to act on those desires for quite some time, and the desires were only a minor nuisance now. They didn't threaten to overwhelm him anymore, and he rarely needed to actively suppress them. He glanced over at Mhisty, grateful for the kindness the elf had shown to him. Not many would have trusted the word of a dragon so easily, let alone helped them in their endeavors to overcome their instincts. Mhisty had done both, and Leden was grateful for that. If she didn't want him eating the fox, then he wouldn't.

Any other dragon would have been disgusted by his loyalty to her, and Leden knew why. In the eyes of any dragon, even Leden's, he was nothing more than a pet to the elf, and a disgrace to all dragons. But Leden knew Mhisty, if nobody else, thought otherwise, and that fact alone allowed him to maintain that. If this was what being a pet was like, he didn't mind at all. Besides, most pets didn't flirt with their masters like Leden did with Mhisty. The fact that he had yet to do so since his arrival was something of an accomplishment for him. Flirting with girls was almost instinctive to Leden, but only because he had repressed his dragon nature and allowed a true personality to take its place. So what if he flirted with Mhisty? With her, it wasn't just flirting. Leden did it so often because she was a friend to him. It was a way he showed he trusted Mhisty and saw her as a friend. She could harness fire, and that fact alone meant she could kill Leden any time she chose to, even if she didn't mean to. He felt free to be himself around her because he knew she wouldn't, and because he didn't want her to think of him as anything other than who he was. The others, not so much. He didn't particularly care what they thought of him. As much as he liked them and wanted them to like him, they were still males like him. Dragons generally don't get along well with others of the same gender, and especially not during this time of year.

"Don't worry, Mhist, I won't hurt the little guy if you don't want me to." Leden said. "But if you're going into town, what would you like me to do? The last village we entered wanted to kill me because I was a dragon, and I don't think that would help us get new recruits." The memory was still painfully fresh in his mind, as was the scar running across his back beginning at his right shoulder and ending at the base of his tail. One of the villagers had attacked him while his back was turned, and he had flown off into the mountains to heal. The good part of being an ice dragon was the ability to heal by rolling in snow. He was glad it had happened when it did, though. If it had been a day later, there was no doubt he would've laid waste to the village. It was mating season for ice dragons, and he was exceptionally quick to anger right now. The constant odor of another dragon didn't help, especially because the fox that had covered itself in the stench was in Mhisty's arms, the smell clinging to her as well. What had the stupid thing done, rolled in some dragon's crap? It wasn't unlikely, but he didn't care what had made the fox reek of dragon to the extent that it did.

Even if he was young for a dragon, he was still fully matured. Had it not been mating season, he would've slaughtered the fox on the spot, recognizing Fume's scent. Leden assumed it was a male dragon's stench, even if it didn't smell like one- it pissed him off, like a male dragon's scent did, after all. Fume wasn't male, though, and that fact resulted in a much more mild reaction. Of course, Leden wasn't aware of this. All he knew was that the fox smelled like a dragon- a bad choice, given that it was mating season for most ice dragons- and that it was now covering his woman in the stench. Leden shook his head, chasing away the thought. His woman? Mating season could be quite the nuisance.

Yokio was spending his time in Mhisty Talos's arms formulating a plan for payback on Leden. "Poison? Too noticeable. Death by fire? Too hard to pull off. Struck by lightning? A dragon, so no." All of the thought s going through his head, not really paying attention to those around him, his tails still clinging to the girl who got warmer when the traitor got closer.

Then something came to him! He tried to remember what time of the year it was, and when he remembered, he remembered from an old book when he was little, ice dragons go into mating season. No wonder he was hanging so close to Mhisty Talos, he was infatuated with her. Being a reader, he knew how species showed affection and mating, but was still somewhat grossed out by the idea himself.

When that revaluation came to him, he formulated a plan, and a brilliant one if he said so himself. Everyone was watching him closely, and the traitor looked angry, due to Fume's smell. He decided to shift his tails so that his face was facing Mhisty Talos's, and he whispered close to her. "I know why I smell like dragon. Don't tell anyone, but feel my stomach." As he spoke, he shifted his stomach so that very little fur remained, and the skin looked burned and appeared to have a scar running across it, as if attacked by something large that insisted on torturing him. After a time that he thought she could take in the sight, he got closer and said in a equally small voice, "I can shift myself to look alright all the time," something he could really do, "but please don't ask me to go all the way back to my true form, I can't stand how I actually look, but please don't tell anyone, they already look at me oddly, can you please do that, Miss Mhisty? I am sorry for not Telling you about my ability, but hiding is how i survive from It." He was able to make his eyes water, but not cry, as this act required very subtle acting. He decided that one final bullet was needed to the traitor, and he knew which one was needed. He couldn't attack him, but he doubted that he told Talos about mating season, so this seemed like a good chance. "I don't want to worry you, but it is dragon mating season," he paused and looked at Leden who was near them. " And that guy has been giving you some funny looks. Just be careful of him, dragons are ruthless, and you are too nice to not know about something that might affect you."

While talking to Mhisty Talos, he made sure that his tails moved around her arms and torso, giving her Fume's scent, and would make Leden go insane or make her smell too bad for him to attempt anything. "Try and mate with her now, dirty traitor. He cursed inside of his head, and then shipphifted his stomach back to normal, and placed his head on her shoulder, getting a look at the travelers behind them. He started to use his tails to rub against her, which probably felt good, seeing what he had been told about his fur, and made sure that the manner seemed caring. He did this while eyeing the others, wondering how they would each pay for going against Fume.

Vee paused when she was told she could go along them. This was new to her, she was usually the inviter not the invitee. Well, I haven't been out of the woods or to the village for a while. And being around someone that isn't an animal might be good for me. Hesitating only a minute more she caught up to the group with a smile. "I'll take you up that offer, Renth." She chose to ignore the dead animal across his back, guessing it was his way of making a living. He probably sells the furs, maybe even the meats.

She turned to face Irsire with a nod. "It is nice to meet you too, Irsire. And there is no need to feel sorry for not hearing of me, I do not feel like I am someone to be spoken of by strangers even when I helped them one time or more." She looked over and watched the dragon, the kitsune, and the elf woman speak with amusement as she continued speaking to Irsire. "I have to admit, you have quite an odd group here, no offense. What exactly are you recruiting for?"

Mhisty Talos

Mhisty just shrugged her shoulder to the best of her ability to Leden, "That's okay, Leden. I was just curious." She figured that it couldn't be the demon dragon in charge of the Akashinu. No way, Leden would have already attacked, even if Mhisty didn't know. He had his ways of explaining things. She still marveled at the fact both Irsire and Leden were hundreds of years old. When he said that he wouldn't hurt Pionee, she smiled brightly, "Thanks again."

When Leden mentioned the last village, she pouted. That day was just terrible, she actually cried for her friend. She would for anyone that she cared for got hurt, actually. "I don't like thinking about that day. But you have a point. It would be best if you don't go in." She sighed, a light bulb then flashing inside her brain. She tilted her head, her face lighting up (not literally), "Maybe you could circle around the village unseen by the villagers? You could scout for any possible trouble, seeing as you know what that trouble could look like." She knew he was the double agent for them before he got caught by that disastrous leader of the Akashinu, so he had been giving some valuable information when he could.

As they were walking, she knew they were getting closer. She glanced behind her, noticing something odd. She tilted her head and turned around. "Renth is gone." She tilted her head again, "Did he lose us?" She sighed, "Can someone go back and fetch him or something? Please?" She wouldn't mind who, but it couldn't be her, honestly. She had things to do, like get this fox into the town, see if she can get any recruits, and definitely train her fire abilities.

Pionee's small voice caught her attention, breaking her from her thoughts. She looked with amethyst eyes towards the soft creature, curious. He had a reason for smelling like dragon? She moved a hand carefully to gently touch the mutilated tummy of that fox. It had so little fur, and she believed she felt a scar. She wanted to just hug that fox to healing if she could, it was like he got caught in a dangerous claw. She smiled softly, deciding she would speak in the fox language she heard the fox speak further back, when he had barked at her to "control your wood elf." "I won't say anything. Don't worry about keeping that kind of secret. I understand when someone needs to protect themselves." Being able to understand languages, it was possibly for her to speak them.

When Pionee spoke of dragon season, she furrowed her eyebrows. She giggled, "Silly fox. He's almost always a flirt." She lifted her gaze up, wanting to put a finger on her chin, but knowing that couldn't quite happen with Pionee in her arms. "Actually, the strange thing is he hasn't done that yet." She gently stroked the top Pionee's head to the best of her ability before placing it back onto the fox's fur someplace else. "He's shown he's very loyal, I trust him. Thanks for the concern, though."

She glanced back behind her, seeing that the elf woman who wanted to be called "Vee" was indeed following them, talking with Irsire. It made her smile, actually. It was great to see peace. Looking back ahead, she was beginning to see the the village coming slowly into view through the trees.

(( The italicized words are the ones in the the fox language that Yokio spoke earlier on. If it's not italicized, it's the language everyone seems to be speaking :P ))

Yokio was shocked to say the least that Leden had been able to figure him out so quickly. Sure he probably made it easy by rubbing Talos down with the scent, but he was smarter than he gave credit for if he could figure it out, stupid as hell for becoming a traitor, but smart.

When he was grabbed by the tails, he knew that a story needed to be made up and was able to create one while he was rambling on about him and Mhisty, "Whiney little lizard. He thought to himself as he was finishing his little monologue. When he threw him on the ground, he looked up at him with pure hatred, Time to sow some seeds. he thought evilly.

He took a moment to stare down the dragon before beginning, "How dare you accuse me of being Yokio!" He started off by screaming, keeping his angry face on, "My brother turned against our Momma and me. He turned us in for that damned dragon! And you want to know what she did to me while I was locked up!?".

He, in that moment, shifted to the full burnt clawed version he showed Mhisty before. This disguise was his favorite, and took him a while to perfect. His left ear was half gone, the only fur that remained was in small spaces with large areas of healing skin. His tails were damaged greatly, with burn mark going down, leaving a ghastly look to them.

He continued to stare at Leden, but with small croc tears beginning to form. "My pelt is gone, and I am stuck looking like a monster for my entire life thanks to my brother." He stopped, tears now flooding. "I was right to warn Mhisty about you. You are just as bad as that demon dragon, and now that a creature shows me kindness, you accuse me of wanting to kill her." He was now shaking at this point due to the tears, "You are a monster, and YOU CAN BURN IN HELL!!" He shouted at the entire group, to make the point of associating with him, before swiftly turning into an eagle and flying off in the direction of the town.

Irsire laughed off Ledens comment giving him a slanted gaze “ I wouldn’t want to be that old buddy, that’s quite a age to hit. Nearly two hundred years for me, but who is counting.” Irsire told the dragon with a smile on his face. He was relieved that there was another “old guy” in the group. Though Irsire never really dwelled on his age being about a hundred years older than the people around you was still quite strange. The early years are still stamped into his head like a fresh memory, that’s the only thing that his age reminded him of. The past was something he could never let go of completely, but joining up with Mhisty did give him a greater purpose rather than wondering aimlessly in search of knowledge

Refocusing his attention on Vee as she spoke "I have to admit, you have quite an odd group here, no offense. What exactly are you recruiting for?"She sounded genuinely curious about what exactly they were doing . Irsire smiled, and he thought quickly about his answer before he gave it. “Well exactly we are recruiting for the fighting force that would take down this demonic dragon trying to take everything over.” Irsire answered her running his hands through his short grey hair “That sum’s it up, all of us have our own reasons for fighting. But its our common reason that keeps us together. Not to mention that Lady Talos is a great leader. I would extend an invitation to you to join us, but you have a forest to tend to and people to help through it.” He finished explaining to the elf.

Stopping short as Mhisty asked the group were had Renth gone off too. From Irsires perspective he was an expert in this forest so getting lost most likely wasn’t the thing at hand but non the less he would volunteer himself “I’ll find him my Lady, would you like to come with Vee? Unlike you I would get lost here, I’m not too fond of forests.” Swinging out his hand motioning her to follow Irsire made his way back in the direction in which the group had came. As he walked away he could hear Leden yelling, but exactly about what was uncertain. Whatever it was the lady was in any direct danger from the tone of his voice, from that observation Irsire carried on walking away.

Vee nodded in agreement "True, but even if you did, I still know animals that I've shown how to show the people the way as well. Vee was a few steps behind Irsire when Renth had started walking back their way. She thought it was quite funny but she kept quiet only to nod when Renth asked for Irsire to help with an excuse. It seemed that Renth didn't notice her standing there but she wouldn't embarrass him if he didn't want to be embarrassed. She only watched as the fox flew away in the form of an eagle seeing as she didn't feel like shapeshifting to chase it, she didn't have her bo with her, and she wasn't going to risk throwing her knives. She noticed Mhisty's sad look and instead of going over to comfort her she sent a comforting smile seeing as she still wasn't used to being around people.

Irsire looked to Vee with a slight smile “Then would you join our cause, it would be nice to have another to speak to,” he told her as his eyes peeked up after Renth came into view. His bow was already drawn and three arrows flew out from the bow aiming for some unseen target. Irsire peered over his shoulder watching the eagle take off separating itself from where the group was stationed at. “Do you get lost easily Renth?” Irsire commented mocking the elf with a smile, he could see the embarrassment written all over his face to Irsire it was amusing to watch . “It wouldn’t be a problem for me to cover you, just try to stick with our lady closely from now on,” Irsire turned away and made his way back to the group walking beside Renth.

Irsire ignored his comments about killing the fox, if he didn’t find it to be a danger to Lady Talos then he didn’t mind the fact that it was breathing. But Irsire listened closely to Renth’s speech, carefully analyzing every word that was said. Renth proved a great point if everyone would be on this team they would have to work together and act as a unit, putting their complete trust into the one standing beside them. Irsire cleared his throat and spoke up “I agree with Renth, we are going to have to listen and trust the words of one another. We have to work fully as a unit, I trust Lady... Mhisty with my life and I trust her decision making but I will tell her if I find something wrong with the situation,” He dropped his last words along with his hood revealing his glowing red eyes.

He made his way over to Mhisty who was being held by Leden, “I will see our quest out until the end. I will serve you may Lady,” Irsire said to her with a smile. He yawned, and walked towards the town. He felt demonic energy in the area and sighed, and dozens of thoughts flashing through his head. Another demon I’ll tell the lady once we arrive, there would be no purpose to rise alarm. “Let’s go guys”

Vee stayed silent for a minute as she was thinking. Join their cause, or go back home while they fight to keep the land free? Hm, joining them it is then. "Alright, I'll join. Besides, I doubt the demonic will leave the woods standing seeing as Faeries and Elves must live there as well as some nature spirits. And I would never sit back and relax as there are others that are fighting to keep the land free." She smiled then listened to what Renth said, thinking over it and nodding.

"I agree as well. From the few moments I have walked with you and from what Irsire has told me, you are all great beings being led by a great leader. I trust you with my life and I will help along this quest to the most of my abilities. I serve you." As she said this she timidly pulled her hood away from her head, there was no point in keeping her face hidden if she were to gain their complete trust as a new part of their group. She smiled shyly, seeing as she hadn't let another non-animal being see her face since her mother had died. Before she spoke again she lowered her head. "And, well, there's something you all should know about me. I can talk to animals and partially shapeshift. On full moons, only if my emotions are strong, I tend to freak out and use the elements." She wasn't thrilled that she had to tell them of her abilities but again, it's a way of gaining trust. Plus the upcoming night would be a full moon, she just wanted to warn them so she wouldn't accidentally harm them. She slightly lifted her head as she continued walking to see what the others' reactions would be.

Irsire's words of loyalty had made Renth a bit jealous. Why couldn't he talk like that. From him everything was just orders or facts or stuff to be analyzed. No personality could be found in him except for protection, and that was a stretch. Of course Irsire's beautiful speech was countered with his teasing, which made him of a joking personlity, while still being able to be serious.
Are you kidding me? You just met him. You don't know people, you've lived alone in the forest half your life.
He picked up the deer and walked straight through the group, following the path of the fox. He turned around to see Leden in an embrace with Mhisty, then tried to turn around nonchalantly. Awkward isn't it. You're reading to much into it though. They're probably old friends. The scary fact that the fox was not alone kicked in. They should probably get to the town quickly.

"We should make it to the town as soon as possible, we can't be sure if that thing was alone. Irsire, Vee, you stay with Mhisty. Leden, would you mind giving us a dragons eye view? I'll be on the ground scouting ahead." He turned to Mhisty with one question that would have to be answered. "What way are we going boss?"

Mhisty Talos

Mhisty blinked when she was suddenly embraced by Leden. Due to the fact her body temperature was way higher than she usually kept it, she was surprised that he could even come anywhere near her. She quickly dialed down the heat enough to not injure him. They did need him after all.

She smiled, hugging Leden back for the moment, "Thanks Len." She finally came up with a nickname for Leden. She thought it was cute, to say the least. When Irsire walked towards her and Len, she squirmed lightly out of Leden's arms, giving him a quick glance and smile, before hugging Irsire as well, "You're awesome. By the way, enough of the "serving". It makes me sound like I own you." She giggled, teasing, releasing Irsire from her gentle grip.

When Vee had said she'd join, Mhisty knew what she was talking about. She had heard Irsire ask Vee if she wanted to join. Mhisty turned her body to face the other female elf, watching her pull off her hood. She was beautiful, and she had seemed timid about removing the hood. When the woman mentioned she could talk to animals, Mhisty smiled more, "I can too. Yay, I'm not alone!" She couldn't help it. She walked up to Vee and wrapped her arms around her lightly as well, "Thanks, Vee. And don't worry about it. I'm sure we can handle if something goes wrong. Like what just did with the lying fox." She released her almost as soon as she had hugged her. Thanks to Leden, he just had to get her hugging everybody. "Because I feel you should also know, I control fire. But that's about it besides understanding any language."

Mhisty turned towards Renth, looking at him carefully. He seemed reserved to himself for right now, so she wasn't sure how he'd respond to a hug from her. She took a deep breath, knowing Ren was probably right about the fact the fox was not alone. They would have to be on alert now. She walked over towards the front, turning to see everyone.

"Thanks Ren, I like the idea, but I think there may have to be some changes. Irsire, I trust you can be the eyes in the back of my head? Vee, seeing as you are new, I feel that maybe you could hang with Irs and I, and we could explain some things. Unless, of course, you really don't want to go into the village, you could go hang with Renth and scout with him. Renth, scout around the village about maybe... a mile out. With your keen senses, I'm sure you'd be able to notice something. Sorry Renth, but I think Len flying in the sky would be a bad idea around here. He could get shot with something. People around this area don't typically care for dragons." She knew about his weakness, the belly. She didn't think anyone else did though. She looked over at the dragon man, smiling, "Although, I do trust your super awesome eyesight. See if you could find a very high point and keep a lookout there? A tree may be your best best."

She sighed, shaking her head lightly, the blond hair moving whatever way it cared for, and turned to face the village. It seemed small, but not the smallest she's seen. She glanced back, "Take care to anyone who is not going to be going in with us." She smiled, and walked ahead, seeing a rusty shell of what once belonged to the humans back when they were around, overgrown with wildlife (a rusty car).

Irsire was caught off guard by Mhisty’s soft embrace, he smiled as her arms around him."You're awesome. By the way, enough of the "serving". It makes me sound like I own you." She giggled, Irsire knew she was teasing him about is disposition towards her. He even chuckled a bit “I’ve already been owned it’s not nice,” he countered with a joke. Irsire knew Mhisty wasn’t too keen to his formality’s, but stopping them was pretty hard for him to do since his time was more centered around the kind and formal approach. Mhisty had made her way over to Vee speaking excitedly to the elf about their similarity in powers. Then she quickly made her way to the front of the group turning and grasping the attention of the rest of the members

People around this area don't typically care for dragons."

Her statements were quick and to the point giving a few second options of people were not ready for that task. Irsire was glad he would be keeping Mhisty company he needed to tell her about the demonic energy he felt anyway. It was important enough but it could wait till they got into town. If Vee was too tag along it would be ideal, the more she was informed the better he was worried about not getting everything settled in a quick fashion, the faster they were organized the quicker they would be able to strike.

Lady Talos put trust in the scouting ability of Renth, that was enough for Irsire to do the same with a yawn he spat out a few comments “Renth, try not to get lost out there,” he said with a laugh then looking to Leden “you should take this, I’ll be able to contact and find you with it so don’t worry about getting to us,” Irsire told the elf throwing a small black orb to him. Wrapping up what he had to say Irsire turned towards Lady Talos and set off walking beside her as they got closer to the town he spoke. “There is a demon around this area, I don’t know exactly where but I can feel that its close we need to be careful. I cannot make-out how powerful it is from such a distance, I wanted to notify you first before telling the others and possibly making a big deal out of nothing."

Vee watched and listened as Mhisty went around the group. Looking down she waited for what her mind made her think was hours but was really only seconds and she heard Mhisty saying "I can too. Yay, I'm not alone!" and tried to hug back when she felt Mhisty's warm grip around herself though her attempts were futile seeing as her arms were trapped to her sides by Mhisty's. She smiled as Mhisty continued, "Thanks, Vee. And don't worry about it. I'm sure we can handle if something goes wrong. Like what just did with the lying fox." Vee was released from Mhisty's grip yet she continued. "Because I feel you should also know, I control fire. But that's about it besides understanding any language."

Vee nodded with a relieved smile, "Thats good to know and really great." She felt different, probably because she was accepted so quickly into a group she barely knew yet felt she knew quite a bit already. Mhisty is an elf that controls fire and is the leader of the Shira-yuri, Leden is a dragon that can take on a human form and seems to be a bit flirty, Renth is a quiet elf that probably makes a living off of hunting, but Irsire... I don't know what he is. He is kind and loyal to his cause though. She looked curiously over at Irsire for a moment before turning her attention back to Mhisty who was speaking.

"Thanks Ren, I like the idea, but I think there may have to be some changes. Irsire, I trust you can be the eyes in the back of my head? Vee, seeing as you are new, I feel that maybe you could hang with Irs and I, and we could explain some things. Unless, of course, you really don't want to go into the village, you could go hang with Renth and scout with him." Vee listened to the rest of the plan as she thought over her options her head. Coming to a decision she spoke up to Mhisty, "Although scouting around the village sounds interesting I think I'd be better off with the first option. I'll go with you and Irsire to pick up on whatever things you feel you should tell me. Maybe I'll go hang out with Renth next time when I'm more caught up." She walked up next to Mhisty and Irsire as they traveled into town.

"Thanks Ren, I like the idea, but I think there may have to be some changes"
Well, she was the leader, it was her job to know how to well, lead.
"I still get the forest then. Sweet" Renth mumbled in elvish, instead of common.

“Renth, try not to get lost out there," Irsire joked. Renth turned around just in time to catch the ball in a simple, outstretched arm. He pocketed it, catching a glimpse of Vee. Whoa I should leave now to avoid me looking like a complete idiot.. He nimbly danced his way across the edges of some metal contraption from Human times, jumping off of the top to grab the branch of a tree. His other arm strained by the weight of the deer he had been carrying. He threw it up over his shoulder and started jogging across the branches, careful not to slip like this morning.
He stopped as he reached the edge of the forest, looking at the quaint little town. He couldn't remember the name of it for the life of him, but he remembered that the particular butcher had a liking to black berries and apples. Renth checked his bag, only to find blueberries and wild strawberries. It might be good if he ran into some children but other than that, he was going to get standard cuts. Oh well. Half of the deer meat and twenty gold coins were enough to get by. The horns were what he cared about though. Maybe he could take up learning to play the flute. You're not serious right? or maybe not. Either way, they were going to sell for a *lot* more than twenty coins.

Making his way down he saw the usual common-folk that resided in these towns. They all contributed to the society, and their home prospered because of it. Take a right here. He turned to see the Inn and the bar. Renth never cared for that sort of thing much. Mostly because of his nice little home, and the repugnance of most places in the evenings kept him far away from society. And a left here. He turned to see an avenue that he had walked down many a time before. The butchers was the third store on the right, and the water fountain was at the end of the avenue in a cul-de-sac. He walked into the shop, the smell of blood, meat, various salts, spices, and...was that honey?
"Well hello there Ranger!" the shopkeeper said, a bulky man with a stained apron, and a firm grip on his hefty meat cleaver,"It's nice to see you again! Whose you friend there?"
Renth dropped the Deer on the counter. "Buck, five point tips, Healthy as far as i know. Arrow puncture here,"He pointed at the small indent in the deers fur, a small opening that probably went two or three inches deep, "And usual place for the hunters mark" He turned the head, showing a larger, but still clean slit at the deers throat.
"So what's my cut?" The butcher asked.
Since Renth didn't have the money to actually pay the butcher, and he couldn't eat an entire deer before it would spoil, he would give a good sized percentage of the meet to the butcher. "Standard. I'll take the Rack and the Haunches, you take everything else. Plus twenty gold thank you." Renth stuck his hand out for the agreement to be solidified with a good handshake." Oh and I'd like the skull with the Horns. Wasn't easy carrying that thing all the way here."
"Alright sir, it'll be done in half a days time." The Butcher stuck his hand and they shook on it.
"Thank you"Renth said as he turned around and walked out of the shop. Now his job was to scan for suspicion and root it out if any, and if need be send for back up.

Mhisty Talos

Mhisty was ecstatic with how things were now going, the fox issue already pushed to the back of her mind. She didn't like to let one thing bother her for too long. She believed Leden already had his position in place, and Renth was on his way to do his part as well. Irsire and Vee were going to be sticking with her, to get the recruiting done. The best place always seemed to be the taverns; she just had to be careful of the ones who had a tendency to drink too much.

When Irsire was beside her, she heard him say some things about a demonic aura being nearby. "Thanks, Irsire. For both not getting everyone upset, and for telling me. We'll keep a closer eye out for sure. Let me know if you feel anything different about this creature." She didn't really wish to say demon out in the village, so she disguised it with that word 'creature.'

She glanced around, looking at the buildings around them, mostly small for sure. She moved her purple gaze over to Vee and smiled, "Thanks again for joining, Vee. I find it great to have you in with us. I don't like conflict much, which, yeah I know, is ironic, but I'd like to keep my freedom more than avoiding the inevitable conflict. I've heard some things about the leader and the second hating us elves and the faeries. Anyways, If I give an option for you to do, obviously choose what you want. If I give you something do to that you're not confident in or of the sort, please tell me, and we may be able to work something out. If you have any questions, feel free to ask."

Up ahead, she believed she seen a tavern bustling with some activity. What a great place to head into, it seemed. "Hey, how's the tavern to go ask?"

Irsire peered over, looking to Lady Talos “I’ll do what I can, to figure out exactly what type of demon it is would to be too hard to figure out from where we are standing. I’ll also notify you if the strength of the energy increases,” He had no problem throwing around the word, although the word demon was essentially demonized. From his perspective nearly everyone hated demons, half breeds and ones tainted by demons all the same. His kind has been hunted even after the wars were over and the demons that would cross between worlds were dealt with. Only Mhisty actually accepted him for who he really was, his own mother didn’t want anything to do with him at first. But the Lady Talos accepted him, and that was enough for him to follow her leadership.

From Irsire’s point of view, the town was a run of the mill small trading village. Bars for the drunk and Inn’s for the traders. Nothing within the town was very interesting, normally he would check out the blacksmiths to do some repairs he was short on gold and the blade Disire was doing just fine. Looking towards one of the taverns that Mhisty pointed out Irsire spoke up once again “Seems like a good start, I’ll try my best to keep calm around the locals,” he walked ahead and opened the door walking in before Mhisty to insure that it was calm.

Clam wasn’t the greatest thing to be expecting when walking inside of a tavern, it was quite loud with tales of dragon slaying and adventures going about mugs of ale being passed from the bar keep down to the other end. At first sight it was amusing, drunken men telling tall tales about things they have heard in stories. Irsire didn’t hate being inside bar’s but he sure did dislike the environment, by this hour he was sure to at least seen one or two brawls but it was relatively calm which he enjoyed. Irsire turned back to Mhisty with a grin “Well apparently we have some dragon slayers about,” he told her laughing softly and motioning her and Vee to join him inside.

Vee had been listening intently and nodded in response to Mhisty. "I'm honored to join your band of merry men. I also have to agree with you on the 'conflict and freedom' subject, freedom is more important to most people than they realize." She paused to pull a loose strand of hair away from her eyes. "And thanks for letting me know that, I will tell you if I'm uncomfortable with anything when the need comes."

Vee peeked into the tavern from over Irsire's shoulder and thought, Well this like a quaint little place, you just have to ignore the drunks, the smell, the noise, and the grime. Then it would be quite nice. She just hoped a bar fight wouldn't start up while they were there, she already felt uncomfortable enought about having her hood down in the village anyway but she wanted change so she kept it down. When she walked in she heard Irsire saying "Well, apparently we have some dragon slayters about." She thought back to how her father, Bregolian Taurvantian, had died to a dragon's claws and her brother, Thalion Taurvantian, had avenged their father's death. But he had died of his wounds when he made it to the edge of the wood. These thoughts made her heart ache and frown as well as quietly ask, "Are there any names floating around like Bregolion, Thalion or possibly even Taurvantian?"

Vee’s soft tone cought Irsire off guard glancing over his shoulder he spoke “These drunken men are only speaking tall tales of themselves, but the men you speak of could be the real hero’s of these stories. Why did you know them personally?” Irsire wasn’t trying to prod at anything that was too personal at a time or place like this, it was crowded, dank and dark. It was a simple inquire and a way to establish more of a trusting relationship with the elf. Walking further in scanning the room briefly clearing his throat, drawing Disire from its sheath and thrusting it into the ground to grab the attention of the room. Surging a small bit of lightning into the blade, then returning it to its resting place by his side.

“Now that I have the attention of you fine fellows, my companions and I have a request for anyone who would like to seek for the continued freedom for every living creature. As some may know, there is a demonic dragon reeking havoc seeking the control of all living things. Which leads to a problem that we all share, being subject to a power like that crushes freedom where it stands and us the Shinra-yuri are attempting to stop said power. Any Questions feel free to speak to me or the fair Lady Talos. Be respectful or I’ll run my blade through you,” Irsire finished with a yawn, finding a seat and taking it. As he relaxed he felt the thoughts of Renth be transmitted through the orb he gave him earlier.

“Renth, we are in a tavern gathering recruits. For starters only I can hear you unless I hold the lady directly, and just think about speaking to me while holding the orb and we will be able to communicate fine. Don’t lose the orb, it takes a while to make new ones so hold on to it closely.” Irsire told him, shaking his head away from the thoughts coupled with controlling the darkness.

Yokio listened to Vosro's answers, and it hit him that he thought the money he had paid ment that he wanted information. Smart. This one will come in handy if I can get him convinced, but he wants information, let's give him some.. He smiled at him before leaving his company to walk to the bar, and ordered a large ale. When it came, he sat back down, and gave neither a reason for leaving, but was happily drinking.

"Let's see," He paused for a moment, remembering the townie had actually gone to. He had gone into a bar to recruit, although not as himself, at that point, he took the shape of the bloody traitor, Leden. He had gotten some recruits, but didn't want to ever take his form, it seemed like a knife in the back. He locked eyes with Vosro, and then started up again. "I am sorry, child. It was months ago I was there, so him name I can't remember, although he did look odd. He had wings! And a tail, and some necklace with a pretty little stone in it, it looked so beautiful. Me thinks he was a dragon." He stopped to take a drink of ale, and found it surprisingly sweet, which he naturally loved.

Then all of a sudden, he heard the blade come down. He looked over to see the demon that was traveling with Mhisty Talos with the new girl. Great, there goes my chance to get him now, damn you. He cursed the demon and Talos in general before shifting his attention back to Vosro.

"Well, there be the Shura-yuri right there. Looks strong too, maybe I will 'ave to check out dis group. For some reasons, that speech make me want to dance, got any spells for music?" He chuckled a little bit, before wondering how he was going to escape, and how much information he could get out of the demon without conflict.
