a character in “Era of the Dragon: Saturn's Egg”, as played by Drogyn

Description

Name: Drogyn Onyx
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Rank: Rider
Appearance: 6'3" tall. Bright white hair in a ponytail that reaches down to mid-back. Handsome (but not anything special) features. A body that's mostly muscle but without being bulky. He's also got a few scars here and there, battle scars. Breaches which are loose and allow for a wide range of movement, which are made out of a tough and durable material. A leather jerkin over a sleeveless tunic. Simple boots.

Dragon's Name: Alatheus
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Appearance: (I'm not completely sure about how the size would match up to a human, nor do I know the expected size of Dragons in this world, so I'm just going with what I think will work) 30'ish tall. 50-60'ish length when laying as flat as possible. ...proportional wingspan. Pitch black scales. Slim body, with no horns, but spikes running down the length of his spine, as well as protruding from his front elbows(?) in such a way so that they hug his arms when they are straight, and stick out when they are bent.

Why you want the Solar Egg: To make sure that no one with evil intent will bond with the dragon within.

Personality

*= Explained in History
Drogyn:
To go along with a strong sense of honor, he has a very strong sense of justice. He believes that 'this' is the right thing to do, no matter what anyone else should say. Due to events from his past*, he detests death, yet is willing to deal it to those he who he deems deserving of it. Yet he hates himself for being willing to kill so easily. He loves children, and all people who possess such an innocent and simple way of thinking. He is also a firm believer that ignorance of having done an evil means that you should not be held accountable for that evil. He hates the law, as he sees it as nothing more than a tool for the evil and unjust to escape punishment. And for the innocent to be punished in their place. He holds love in high-esteem, and so will go to great lengths to preserve it. He's very paranoid at times. He's greatly attached to Alatheus, caring for him more strongly than most brothers care for each other. His bond with Alatheus is truly precious to him*. He also harbors a great hatred towards Hunters and Turned Ones, and any people that so blindly hate a race of beings*. Though he harbors a special hatred for the Turned Ones*, a hatred he constantly fights, but he realizes that not all Dragons are the Turned Ones. He comes across as cold, unfeeling, and intimidating to most people due to how he tends to not show his emotions, though he can at times be very gentle and caring should the right situation arise. Though slow to warm up to people, he treasures the people close to him.

Alatheus:
Alatheus is in someways the perfect balance for Drogyn. He is always very open with his emotions, as well very chaotic when it comes to them. Where Drogyn is calm and calculating, Alatheus is loud and rash. He loves playing with children, just as they love playing with him. He makes friends easily, and is fiercely loyal to them. He will push on through his problems until they're solved and everyone is okay. He hates Hunters greatly*. He dislikes killing to the extreme, and will do everything he can to prevent it whenever possible. He believes that death is a waste, that it isn't even a form a punishment. As once you're dead, that's it. But there lies a horrible rage within him. Under the right circumstances, he will go completely berserk, slaughtering everything he sees, though mostly focusing on one thing specifically. Ending such a rage is nearly impossible, as it usually requires an enormous shock*.

Equipment

Drogyn:
Eden: A sword forged by Drogyn himself. At the age of 15, he brought before himself the most rare and powerful materials possible, and for 7 days and 7 nights he did nothing but use his magic to slowly forge the sword. Working enchantments into the blade even as it was forming. He was bedridden for 3 months afterwards due to such an extensive use of his magic, but the results were well worth it, for Eden is a sword that is nearly indestructible, as well as a sword which does not dull. Appearance wise... http://i01.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/115919 ... _Sword.jpg about those proportions, but 5 feet long. There are also plates which extend around the handle, making it hard to attack the hands, but without sacrificing mobility of the hands. Slightly like the hilt of a rapier.
Dagger: He keeps a small dagger tied to the back of his belt so that it's parallel with the ground.
Knife: He has a small knife tucked into his right boot.

Alatheus:
Fang and Claw: Obvious.
Flight: Obvious.
Flame: Obvious.
His slim form allows him to more easily outmaneuver other dragons which are usually more bulky and unagile.

History

When Drogyn was only 4 years old, a small group of the Turned Ones razed his village to the ground. As the only survivor, he wandered for 2 days before he ran into a small dragon which was all alone. Filled with anger and grief, he attacked the dragon, which was even smaller than he was at the time.

That dragon was Alatheus, who only days before was one of the few left over after the largest known gathering of Hunters so far attacked a large group of dragons. Alatheus, not yet able to do much more than walk, could only stumble along in the wilderness. Until he ran into a small human child, filled with rage and sadness over what the humans had done, he attacked the human. Both of them were so young and so weakened that they were unable to do anything to each other and they soon passed out. They would have surely died had a Rider and his dragon not been exploring the area. The rider was suspicious about how the attacks were so close together. When he found the two, he took them to the nearest populated area to get them help as soon as possible. Several days passed, and they eventually woke up at almost the exact same time. Later on, they both had explained to them the whole situation by the Rider that saved them. The next day when he was preparing to leave, the two approached him and in perfect harmony asked him how they could become Rider and Dragon. The Rider tried to discourage them from walking down this path, but when his dragon took their side, he finally relented, and agreed to help them, as well as train them in the years to come.

Time passed as sand through a hourglass to them. Days were filled with nothing but training and learning. Though at first they stayed within shells of grief and regret, they eventually recovered, and focused all of their being into becoming strong enough to prevent such a thing from happening again. Against the warnings of both of his mentors, Drogyn was determined to become skilled in both blade and sorcery. He succeeded in becoming proficient in both. His master was amazed that he could become capable in both, until the day he learned that his student was constantly racked with pain and weakness, or worse, when he used his magic. From then on, he was careful in the training of his pupil, determined to make sure he could use his magic properly so that he didn't accidentally kill himself. All the time as this was happening, Alatheus was training as well. Every day, he was flying longer and higher, lifting heavier and heavier objects, breathing flame longer and longer. He became more and more adept at aerial combat.

Nine years they spent this way, training with a single-minded determination that pushed them forward at a dramatic rate. As they grew, so too did the bond they shared, as they became brothers to each other in all but blood. Until finally the day came when they went out into the world, determined to help the weak wherever they could. And for some time they did, doing mundane tasks that would have otherwise taken vast amounts of time, even catching criminals. Until they encountered a Hunter. Alatheus was so enraged that he attacked without any second thought. Drogyn tried to calm him down, but when he failed, he decided to simply fight with him. Soon though, it was obvious that they were completely outmatched. Drogyn tried once again to calm Alatheus, but he simply swatted Drogyn away. He hit a tree and was badly injured, at that moment Alatheus came back to his senses and with growing horror raced over to his Rider, to his Brother. He grabbed Drogyn in the one good arm he had left, and turned to the Hunter, already considering how best to escape so as to get help for Drogyn. But the Hunter simply gave them a curious look, and then turned and walked away. It was from this encounter that Drogyn obtained the large scar that goes across his chest.

The two of them spent sometime recovering with their masters after that encounter. Their masters decided that what they needed was some battle experience, and so he arranged for them to train with a another pair of Rider and Dragon about at their skill level. With rivals to face, they got better and better at actual battle. Until they saw fit to leave once more. This time, they actively looked for trouble, knowing that practice battle experience wouldn't be enough. They were careful to avoid Hunters or Turned Ones, not yet trusting themselves to face such enemies. Until they learned of a Turned One terrorizing a village just for it's own entertainment. Drogyn was furious, and so they raced there as soon as they could. When they reached the area, they battled the Dragon to the best of their abilities, but mid-battle Drogyn's sword shattered. They managed to drive the dragon away anyway, but it was close. It was then that Drogyn decided to create his sword Eden.

And so some more years passed, until the Egg of the new Solar Dragon fell to Earth. It was then that they knew what they had to do. They had to find and protect the egg. In the past two years, they had become somewhat famous as they continued to help all over the land. They healed the sick whenever possible, they helped to build cities, to protect innocent Dragons from hunters, to protect innocent humans from Turned Ones, and much more. So they knew that they better than others would be able to locate and find the egg.

So begins...
