Sari's Story

Sari sat quietly in the room with the couches, Room B best known. She had been seated on a couch and she had pulled her legs up to her chest. Her head was buried in them, fresh tears staining her face. Experiments were painful. She let out a deep and painful sigh, feeling no strength left to carry on this. She heard the door open, and with not much effort, raised her head to look up to another scientist. She sighed and got up, stuck out her arm, let the scientist take a few tubes of blood before she sat back down, pulled her legs up once more and buried her face in her arms as she curled them up on her knees.

Sari decided to go back to her bed. She slowly got up and walked towards Room A, escorted by two guards. None of them trusted the mutants. Once Sari was in the room, they stood guard at the doors. She watched one of the mutants, Stefano. He had been here at an early age as well, like she. She sighed and walked to her cell, laid down on bed and stared at the ceiling. She had no idea how late it was, but she guessed it had just turned after noon.

Stefano woke up of the hall door opening his ears pointing to the cell door of where the sound of foot steps could be heard. He roll out of bed to look who it was, it was Sari. Stefano started wagging his tail making it hit the floor repeatedly, he was always happy to see her, since she was someone he recognized quickly and had grown up with

Sari turned her head towards Stefano and smiled faintly. She got up, walked towards him and pet his head through the bars. ''Hey,'' she said, sitting down on the ground. Her eyes were soft but broken, she'd been broken a long time ago. The only thing she could remember was arriving here, and living here her whole life. She didn't know anything else but the pain and the needles, syringes and and beatings, scientists and tests. This truly was the most horrible place in the world, but she had no strength left to even think about escaping.

''How are you?'' her gentle voice asked. Sari continued smiling faintly as she watched the older boy in front of her.

Stefano rub his head against Sari's hand, which was always a sign it was going good. He had never learned to speak properly but he just could say a few words, but the ones he could express, he expressed and most of the time that was through physical contact

Sari smiled faintly and petted his head once more. She wondered what he was thinking, what was going on in his head. She had been trying to teach him some simple words like, Hello or Good. So he could express himself to her. She looked up to see doctors coming in with bowls of a green liquid. She shivered, but that was the only food they got. She took her bowl, thanked the doctor and took the spoon, hesitating. Though she was immensely hungry, starving almost. She was pretty light for her weight, she never ate enough.

Sighing, she slowly started eating the liquid. Once done, she set the bowl in front of the door and came back. She sat down and watched Stefano quietly.

Stefano took the bowl and did his usual thing, sniffing it at first the then carefully tasting it and if it was good to him he started eating by the door so he could enjoy Sari's company, he sometimes wished he could be with her, play with her and cheer her up but he enjoyed the petting as well but if she scratched just behind his ear she could do anything to him cause he enjoyed that the most and got lost in his world of joy

Sari smiled faintly at him. Him was so instinct drive, she pitied him. She truly hated the scientists for this, but there wasn't much she could do. A scientist came in and walked towards her. ''I'll be back soon, Stefano. Stay strong.'' She petted his head one more time before she was dragged away by the scientist. She scoffed at him as she followed, wondering what was on the program now. What more did they want to do? Cover her completely in scales? She shivered at the thought.

Entering a room, she saw a few more scientists already ready. ''Lay down on the table,'' the leader said. Sari complied and laid down on the iron table. Her hands and feet were strapped to it. She closed her eyes and hoped everything would be over soon. The scientist took out a syringe and stuck it in her arm, not even caring if it hurt. Sari endured their stabbing with the needles and their hands and whatever more. Once they were done, they unstrapped her. One was holding a mouse.

Sari frowned, but followed the orders to touch it. At the first touch, the mouse died, just like that. She swallowed and backed away, looking at her hands. ''What have you done...?'' she said softly. The scientists smirked. ''We made you a weapon instead of a shield. You can kill anyone at just one touch, just like that. To make sure you won't do that to us, wear these hand gloves.'' The scientist handed her the hand gloves and Sari pulled them on. She sighed and followed the scientist back to Room A. She then sat down back on the ground in front of the bars, looking at the room of Stefano through the bars.

Stefano whimpered a bit as she left but nodded s she told him she would be back soon. Once she left he went to the bed and grab the pillow and put it against the wall and lay his head on it waiting for Sari's return and closed his eyes for moment t least he thought it was a moment because when he opened them again Sari was in her cell watching him, he sit up with his hands on the bars but she had 'why would she be wearing gloves?' he questioned himself and reached out to her

Sari watched Stefano and flinched as he reached out to her. She gently held his hand with her gloved hand and looked sad and terrified, not of him but of herself. She had never wanted to be a weapon, never a shield, but now she was and there was nothing she could do about it. She was unsure of what her purpose was now, but she knew it was no where near good. ''It's alright,'' she said with a faint smile. ''I just... Need to be careful until I can control my new power.'' She pet his head again and sighed softly, hoping everything would be alright.

Stefano looked worried something was wrong with Sari, he hold her gloved hand and watch her "sure?" he asked word he knew before sari started to teach him some words as well, he was a slow learner but once he knew a word good enough he wouldn't forget it and try to say it as much times as possible before not saying it for a while and then use it again

Sari shook her head. She looked away and sighed. ''No...'' She looked back at Stefano and pet his head with a faint smile. ''But don't worry, I'll be alright. I promise.'' She then looked around to see if she could show him her new power. Finding another mouse, she grabbed it and removed one glove, looked sad at the mouse, whispered goodbye with it and touched it with her finger. The mouse instantly died. She shivered and pulled her glove back on. She then looked at Stefano, hoping he wasn't scared of her. Sari didn't want him to be scared of her, he was the only friend she had around here.

Stefano started to whimper when the mouse died 'why did they do that to her?' he thought and keep whimpering sadly no she couldn't touch him without a glove, something that made him very sad, he liked it when she could touch him it her skin felt nice and warm. Stefano lay down whimpering sad wanting it to be undone

Sari watched him and sighed. She gently scratched behind his ear, trying to comfort him, if just slightly. ''It will be alright,'' she said. Though she felt unsure if it was indeed true. But with this new power, she also knew she could somehow try to escape. But could she take the other mutants with her? Maybe one, or two, but not more then three. She sighed and rubbed her face, trying to contemplate what to do next. She felt helpless, unsure. She looked at Stefano and petted his head once more, smiling faintly.

Stefano enjoy the scratching and started to pant a little and wag his tail, when she pet his head, he grabbed her hand in a tight hug and let his hand interlock with hers and watch her with a faint smile but then look back at the hand and place it against his cheek "f...f...frie....friend" he said having always trouble with more complicated words

Sari watched him as he grabbed her hand and hugged it tight before placing it on his cheek. She smiled faintly and nodded. ''Yes, friends,'' she said. She slowly pulled her hand back and looked at them, at the gloves. She then looked at Stefano once more and and yawned. She was getting tired, at least a few hours had passed and she knew it was getting late. ''Go to bed, okay?'' She slowly got up, pet his head once more and walked to her bed. She laid down and yawned again.

Stefano nodded and grab his pillow "ni..night" he said and walk to his bed and lay the pillow back where it belonged before lying down and taking the fetal position and slowly falling asleep, before he became good friends with sari he used to curled up but when he noticed sari sleeping in different position he experimented with the positions and the fetal came out s most comfortable for him

Sari laid down on her side and closed her eyes. She fell asleep.

Sari felt a massive headache as she woke up next morning. It was still early, around six am. She slowly opened her eyes, sitting up and stretching. She yawned and tried to comb her hair a bit with her hands. She held her head, feeling sick and she walked to the toilet just in time to throw up. She groaned and sat against her bed, holding her throbbing head. It was probably some kind of after math because of what they had done with her, but she wasn't happy with it. She rarely became sick because she always felt so stupid when she was sick.

Stefano woke up of the groaning of Sari and went to the door to see what was going on. he saw her throwing up in the toilet and whimpered softly and shake his door a bit to get her attention and bark softly not to wake anyone else or get the attention of the guards cause they thought they bet it out of him, to bark when ever he wanted

Sari looked up at Stefano. She got up and wobbly walked towards him. She sat down in front of him and pet his head. ''Just sick, that's all. It's nothing serious.'' She tried to smile, but it was no where near. She looked down and closed her eyes for a moment, feeling dizzy and about to throw up. She swallowed it, not wanting to get up to the toilet and opened her eyes. She looked back up at the wolf boy and smiled faintly, better now. She continued petting his head and scratching his behind his ear. ''How are you, huh?'' she asked with a worried tone, as usual.
