Introduction
The Setup:
1. Takes place in three distinct time periods.
2. The main characters are relatives, and are reborn throughout time (each plot) but always separated by their dark adventures. The two main characters will be brother and sister, your character could be related to them in some way, or maybe a kind of eternal adversary, or you can come up with something yourself.
3. Everyone would submit a character, this is your "original self" then in the next plot (lifetime) everyone adds a second character, and so on.
4. You don't have to submit three characters for each plot, just use the one you submit and build from that, as it relates to the story at hand.
5. Everyone starts off on the ill-fated Kaiser Max
Story (incarnation) One
The Battle of Vis took place on 20 July 1866 in the Adriatic Sea near the Dalmatian island of Vis and was a decisive victory for an outnumbered Austrian Empire force over a superior Italian force. It was the first major sea battle between ironclads and one of the last to involve deliberate ramming. The battle occurred as part of the Third Italian Independence War, in which Italy allied with Prussia in the course of the conflict against Austria. The major Italian objective was to capture Venice from Austria. The fleets were composed of a mix of unarmored sailing ships with steam engines, and armored ironclads also combining sails and steam engines. The Italian fleet of 12 ironclads and 17 unarmored ships outnumbered the Austrian fleet of 7 and 11 respectively. A single turret ship took part in the action β the Italian Affondatore.
The Italian fleet under Persano was divided into 3 divisions, with 9 ironclads; his deputy, Albini, a "support" division and Admiral Vacca a third "reserve" division with minor wooden ships.
The attacking Austrian fleet was also split into 3 divisions. The 1st Division consisted of the armoured ships, while the 2nd the powerful but obsolete unarmored wooden ship of the line Kaiser and 5 frigates. The 3rd Division consisted of the smaller gunboats and armed merchantmen.
The three divisions were formed up into three consecutive arrowhead or "V" formations; the armoured 1st division under Tegetthoff was in the van, the weaker gunboats and paddle steamers of the 3rd division to the rear.
The Austrian plan, due to their relative lack of firepower, was to close quickly into a melΓ©e, and to use close range fire and the ram on a small portion of the Italian fleet and sink them, breaking the Italian will to fight.
The Italians, despite their superiority, were not prepared for battle. They were busy preparing for landings on the island of Vis when the news that the Austrian fleet was at sea and seeking battle reached them.
Tegetthoff, seeing a gap opening between the 1st and 2nd Divisions, forced his fleet into it and concentrated on raking the Italians and ramming. This meant that he allowed his T to be crossed. While the Austrians were approaching, Vacca's 1st Italian Division threw a heavy weight of fire at them. The Austrians could only reply with their chase guns. The 2nd and 3rd Divisions did not join in and the Austrians crossed the killing area, suffering some serious damage but no ships were lost. Drache on the starboard wing of the Austrian 1st Division was hit 17 times by heavy shells, losing her mainmast and temporarily losing propulsion. Her captain, von Moll, was decapitated by a heavy shell.
Tegetthoff threw his flagship, the Erzherzog Max at the Palestro, but scored only glancing blows, but these caused serious damage, especially to Palestro, which was dismasted and set afire. The captain of the Kaiser Max told his men that they could abandon ship but he would stay, and pulled his ship out of the line. His crew refused to leave their Captain and the Kaiser Max finally blew up and sank at 2.30pm, with only 19 survivors out of the ship's complement of 230.
You are one of these men and you are lost at sea. That is until the crippled San Martino floats by, its crew dead?

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 3 authors
There was a massive gathering of people who were attending the ritual, Sam suddenly realized why nearly every single person in Astoria was so very interested in the salvaging of the Marion Rose and of the strange footage of the monstrous fish-god.
She let out a groan and paced a few times outside the circle of people. What should she do? She didn't know, but this was her brother. Or- well he felt like he should be her brother. She had to do what she could.
Lily stepped forward and pushed the two people closest to her aside, running for the altar. "Sam!" she cried out. She slammed into the stone and started to work at the binds that held him, getting one loose before she had been restrained.
"Granddad!!" Sam shouted.
Old man Lovecraft then released Lily; she immediately taking her place by Sam's side, almost as if she had always been there. Still confused Sam asked his grandfather for an explanation, the old man then moved to the foot of the concrete alter, standing in center of the gathering of native Astorians, he explained everything.
They were both tied to the stone next to each other. Lily turned her head to face him, and in that moment, she understood. It wasn't Sam she saw. It was-
"Nevel?" she asked softly. A tear slipped from her eye and dropped to the cold stone. "Brotherβ¦"
Behind him, she watched as someone stepped forward, the cold metal of a dagger in their hand. She couldn't see what was behind her own head, but there was a second person with a second dagger. Another tear fell from her eye as she gazed at her brother- found at last, at the most inopportune moment, and watched as the dagger was plunged into his chest. Just as he twitched with the stab to his own body, Lily felt the cold metal of the second dagger slide into her own chest. Her hand twitched toward that of her long-lost brother, and one last tear fell as she released her last breath.
Setting
0.00 INK
The Old Fisherman's Inn nestled between the Indian ocean and the woods of Grendel County, Maine. The inn has been a fixture of the surrounding area since the mid-1930's and has be renovated and even rebuilt several times since then.
The Inn is currently is perfect condition and is once again the in-spot for those seeking relaxation and the thrill of the sea-side living.
The Inn is almost fully booked, the last available double bed room has been reserved by two close friends for a three day weekend vacation.
As usual Troy was being a weisenheimer, driving down a long and winding valley road in his piece of crap vehicle with Dehlia sitting in the passenger seat; two 20 something year olds on their way to Grendel County, a small sea side town in Maine, roughly 80 miles from where they live in New Hampshire.
The relative close distance from their hometown meant that they were somewhat familiar with the historic Old Fisherman's Inn, at least familiar enough for it to have popped into their minds when considering a possible weekend getaway.
They had never been romantically involved with one another, having remained the best of friends all their lives. Both of them were hoping to meet someone interesting on this trip, and although they would indeed meet someone, this person would be interesting in all the wrong ways.
She went back to looking out the window, grinning all the same. "And anyway, this is a great, historic town. If you can find a girl here, she will be great. She'll obviously be very smart, and have an appreciation for stuff like this." Dahlia turned back to her best friend. "That is the kind of girl you want. Looks are just a plus."
She stared at him for a minute, waiting for him to tell her she was full of shit, even though he knew she was completely serious. Dahlia just wanted the best for her friend. She was tired of all the bimbos he dated. She knew he was better than that. If only she could find a guy like that. She had basically given up on dating. Though Troy was constantly telling her that she shouldn't give up. Hmph, well, he hadn't had the terrible run that she had.
"Well, that's what those little "Do not Disturb" signs are for, there......Jimmy Olsen" Troy replied with a sly, teasing laugh.
"And don't call me chief." He added a few seconds before Dehlia could think of a comeback.
Dehlia had mentioned the importance of the Inn and its surroundings, to which Troy agreed. "Yeah, that's for sure. Beautiful scenery huh." He said in a more serious manner, Dehlia was always able to see beyond Troy's feigned bad-boy, nonchalant bullshit.
The car was quickly approaching the coastline, the wide single lane roadway tapering off into a dirt road; the only remaining non renovated aspect of the landscape. The Inn was off in the distance and situation on a decline, with the ocean several hundred feet behind.
From their vantage point the sea appeared to loom over the entire building, impressions of old 70s disaster movies suddenly ran through Troy's mind.
She watched as the scenery changed with the effect of the dirt road. She leaned forward, clearly excited. "Ughh, this is gorgeous. Can we go out shooting like, as soon as we check in? Pleeease?" She folded her hands and leaned over, giving Troy puppy eyes. "And you can be my model. Maybe some of the ladies will see and come out to fawn over a hot model." She grinned wide.
Dahlia turned back to the scene ahead of them, sighing happily. "Oh, I bet this place is creepy at night. I am going to get a ton of awesome photos, Troy." She couldn't contain her excitement. It had been a while since she'd gotten out with her best friend, so she'd been looking forward to this weekend ever since he'd brought it up. The fact that he put up with her constant need to explore and take pictures only made her love him all the more.
Luckily, the Inn was a fairly active resort for those seeking interesting people, and therefore not many visitors had ever complained about the constant sound of violent waves breaking out in the waters behind the Inn-The blare of constant party-time tended to drown out such insignificant concerns.
"Who the hell needs sleep, where are the babes" was Troy's motto.
"Ugh, look at this view. It's hideous. Why did we choose this place again?" Dahlia turned back to grin at Troy. "So what do you want to do? Go exploring? Probably hit the bar and see what kind of women are staying here for the weekend?"
She turned back to the bags she'd laid on the bed. She slung her camera bag across her shoulder; the one thing she was never without.
Walking over to her Troy reached out and took Dahlia's hands into his, standing as close as was possible without bumping noses. Dahlia was waiting for a negative reply, something along the lines of - "Chicks first, photos later."
But was pleasantly surprised by Troy's reaction, speaking sofly and with great love for his best friend. "You wanna take pictures, don't you? Well, I guess that would be alright." Troy smiled.
"Okay, let's go," Dahlia said, releasing one of his hands but keeping hold of the other as she tugged him toward the door. "Are you going to model for me?"
She wanted to head for the beach first, to get photos of the outside of the inn as it sat right on the beach. So that was where she headed first, straight for the water's edge, with her best friend at her side.

Old man tells an unbeleivable story, his son is a professional scavenger who finds an old iron box in the wreckage of a ship, contains old camera, something wierd on film. His family (wife, daughter, son) live near the beach. Nearby are woods. Guys name is Sam Lovecraft (no relation). Year is 1968.
Dont have to be a family member

Re: Eternal Seas
Keep in mind that all characters have to hhave some sort of connection to eachother, these are people who are reincarnated many many times and always connected to one another in some way, need not be family related, could be any connection.
