He is a loner and estranged from the world; there is no emotion within him. Nothing.
Diastane retracts into himself and is much of a loner. He does enjoy going out though but usually by himself.
Around persons he is used to, he will loosen up and be apart of himself that is usually hidden.
He'll blend into a crowd and be friendly on occasions but this action only happens when he knows he will never see those persons again.
As a graphic novelist there isn't much he carries around excepting a duffel bag which usually contains a few books for him to read, a notepad to jot down ideas in and for defense methods he keeps a knife strapped in his boot.
Diastane was brought up in a humble home with two siters and three brothers. His father was a strict disciplinarian so there was hardly room for much nonsense but Diastane was still the trouble maker in the family. He still kept up good grades but his pranks usually got him in deep trouble with his father though his mother was the one to usually pull him out of a sticky situation. In his late teens, on a night he was walking around with his mother to get some Christmas shopping done; they were ambushed by thieves and though he tried to defend his mother he was still outnumbered and was beaten terribly then had to watch while they took turns raping his mother then stabbing her to death. Though his family tried to make him rid the guilt and reasured him tht it wasn't his fault; he still felt a latent animosity and pressure in the atmosphere. After graduating high school with honors; he went off to college where he met Claire Darlington, who became his girlfriend in his second year. During third year, she became pregnant for him and there was a harsh strain on their relationship because of her family and her expulsion from the traditional college. They still managaed to make their relationship work through all the mess and Diastane propsed to her on Christmas Eve. A few months later though, he received a call that she had been in labor and had died during the pregnancy and so had his son. The news catapulted him into a phase of depression and guilt that only thickened as the months rolled by. In his final year, he got back on track and redeemed himself from the low grades he had slipped into and there was a week left before his graduation. His family planned a trip to come to the graduation and on their way; as the father drove along the intersection, a freight truck lost control and slammed into the family van. They died on the spot. And that's why he bars himself off from the world. Alone. By himself.
