Introduction
Setting is Earth in a not too distant future. Technology is more advanced. However space technology only allows a trip to the edge of the solar system within six months at its quickest. Currently humans build their way off the planet by making thousands of colony ships capable of holding over a hundred thousand people each. Where they go is their problem but they aren't allowed to return to Earth for the next millenium.
Machines: The machines are generally those with a self aware AI. They come in various forms. Most common forms imitate human appearance. Their traits are a mild personality that is well contained and thinks in a systematic and logical manner. They are less likely to start a war over differences.
Cyborgs: Cyborgs are man-machine hybrids. They are commonly partially or fully modified humans. The AI put a ban on organic humans getting modifications to avoid people from becoming cyborgs just to be able to stay on Earth. The AI let the cyborgs stay as many sided with the machines due to the injustice seen towards AI and often people with modifications. Also the AI think that the cyborgs can somewhat relate to them.
Post-war conditions: Exile of all humans below 35% modification. All the exiled must build their own transport systems. An united world government will be made and voters vote for candidates and not parties. The mediator retains the highest judicial power.
The mediator: The mediator is a cyborg who motivated the AI to fight against the injustice and now acts as a counselor and highest judge. The mediator is disguised when in person and normally operates over the internet, being varified through an individualized uncrackable ID. The true identity of the mediator is unknown.

Re: Exiled from a Machine World
You would think a machine revolution would be put down in a few minutes if we just used an EMP.
Re: Exiled from a Machine World
The event is the story. It is about the interaction of several personalities experiencing this moment. You could be a human in a workcamp and another person is an overseer or you could be a cyborg who says goodbye to his or her human friends and wonders how they would live afterwards. Or a human feeling distrust in the machines thinking that as soon as the ships are in space they would be shot down. There are various possibilities.
Or we can agree on a plot where all our characters interacted.
Re: Exiled from a Machine World
Basically, what sort of plot do you have in mind where the characters will have an effect on the world around them? That may help us get the idea of what sorts of characters we should make.
