Description:
Jared's pretty tall, standing at 179cm with average weight, but he's also pretty lean. Jared has green eyes and short strawberry blonde hair that's tucked under his cap, along with two piercings near his eyebrow and two under his bottom lip. He wears a black undershirt with long sleeves under a shortsleeved navy and white collared shirt, along with a green tie. At his waist lies a belt with two loops that are made of cubes linked together like a chain. For his lower limbs, he wears dark navy blue pants with green lining at the cuffs that end just above his boots, which are green with black trimming.
He has a black mark on his the lower middle left of his back, that looks like a hibiscus wreathed in smoke. Does he care that he's dressed in clothes a bit too young for his age? Nope. He didn't have much for his teenage years, like hell he's not gonna start to make up for it.

Magical Spells/Tools:
Jared has many spells related to sound, including but not limited to:
Sound boost: uses vibration created by sound to aid his own movements, increasing his physical stats. Can be stacked.
Soul-seal magic: Jared is able to split his soul into little pieces and send them into inaminated objects, which then contain his senses and act as a solid extension of his mind. He's able to control these objects as if they were his own, and use them at his bidding. He mostly uses these on the cubes he's got at his waist. He can also see souls as a result of this power. He can deactivate the soul bits sealed away inside the object for use for a later time, although unless maintenance is given the soul fragment will fade away with time. However, he can do a transfer of souls if the object gets destroyed, and the soul strengthens whatever its inside magnificently.
However, being able to split a small part of his soul away into objects is very costly, despite the advantages. He can only use this ability a few times in a row before he is fatigued, and he has to be careful not to let the extra sensory output overwhelm him. He also has to make sure that he doesn't overuse this power, as it can cause death - he whittles his soul down each time he uses it, and if he's not careful he'll either fall into a coma or whittle his soul down to nothing, which would mean the death of his self. Furthermore, he is only able to control a set number of cubes, and soul recovery can take quite a while.
amplification magic: Support magic. This is a magic meant purely for support, where he amplifies others to allow for great magic. He is unable to use this on his own magic, only others.

History:
Jared was a self-taught mage, going on about learning magic on his own, before the Guild's captured him thanks to his usage of Soul-sealing magic. Other than this, not much else is known about Jared's life before entering the place.
Somewhere along the way though he got picked up by a dark guild, and was promptly used for experimentation. He was part of the batch that was sent for magic experimentation, and that was when his body got messed up. Despite the guild doing its best to turn him into a magical mindless soldier Jared resisted, buoyed by his memories of better times. Chronologically, he was there for a whole 12 years, but in the last two years he was sent to the time-management batch, where he met Noiz. The magic messed up his aging by moving him back a few years physically, but thankfully his mind was kept intact, and he spent his time trying to bring the other kids hope in that dark, cold place filled with pain and despair.
In the end, they got rescued. Jared was in the middle of fighting off a jailer when they came, and wasted no time dealing with them and getting the other kids out. Afterwards he chose to follow Mavis to the Fairytail guild, and there both him and Noiz quickly earned a reputation for themselves by rising up in the ranks. Thanks to spending little time there, Jared's body was only temporarily affected, and after two years resumed the normal aging process, which he's grateful for.
Personality:
Laidback and pretty calm, Jared is a guy who seems to never lose his cool. He prefers to laze the day away and hide in the shadows, although sometimes things prevent that. He's pretty cynical and can be quite sarcastic at times, but that doesn't mean that he's a jerk - far from it. Jared is actually a pretty reasonable guy, and underneath that layer of mild apathy lies someone who's loyal, caring and kind. He can be quite cold sometimes, but is quick to turn warm, and is pretty much just a decent person who'd rather lead a normal life instead of be in death-defying situations.
Jared is also pretty lazy, however, and can sometimes be quite philosophical about life. He's pretty wishy-washy about things, often going along with whatever seems easier, and sometimes he can get so apathetic about things its almost as if he's depressed. However, just because he doesn't have much opinion about things doesn't mean that he's weak-willed - Jared is, in his own quiet way, very stubborn and collected enough to understand what is expected of him and do things.
Strengths:
Pragmatism - Jared is calm and collected enough to know when its ok to fight a friend and when it isn't. He's sensible enough to do the right thing, even if it means destroying a lifelong dream of his own. If it involves knocking out his friends or destroying his own arm to win the war, Jared is able to distance his emotions enough to do it without missing a beat.
Reliable - Jared is just a pretty reliable person in general. If you need him, he'll be there, and he's a boon both in and out of the battlefield.
Calm - Jared doesn't really lose his cool in a fight. He's a bit irritable sometimes, yes, but even then he won't lose sight of what's important even if he gets angry, which is pretty rare.
Combat - He's fought for years in an experimental facility that tried to turn him into a soldier. He's good with creativity, and has excellent stamina. In fact, he has the potential to be S-class if he wasn't so darn lazy.
Weakness/Fears:
Good guy syndrome - Jared often finds it hard to leave people alone with their problems, and this can lead to quite a problem sometimes. This mostly extends to kids.
Lazy - If he could live a life filled with normalcy, he would. Sometimes it's a bit hard for him to get out of bed and do things, and this is in fact his biggest weakness since it means he's not utilising his power's full potential thanks to going for the easiest route.
Honesty - Jared tends to say what he thinks no matter what he does, which can sometimes lead to bad results.
Stubborn - tends to keep his own problems to himself sometimes, and can be really, really adamant about not getting out of bed and doing something.
Bees - Jared is absolutely terrified of bees. They're one of the very few things that can make him lose his cool. He's capable of handling it if there's only a few around (though he gets a bit jumpy), but a whole swarm of them? He'd be off and running.
Lack of opinion - Jared is, for a better term, wishywashy. He doesn't really hold much opinion on anything, and goes where the world takes him unless he has a better idea.
Habits:
Sighing - Jared sighs a lot, especially if he's dragged into something he feels that he's better off not being in like daily death battles.
Talking to himself - Well, not exactly himself. Jared likes to talk to his cubes, which contains pieces of his soul. Sometimes they tend to nod or do whatever cubes do in their spare time, although they never talk back - not unless Jared decides to activate them anyway.
Button collecter - As can be seen by the numerous buttons he's wearing, Jared likes to collect Buttons. Doesn't really matter what kind it is - he just likes them.

He and Noiz know each other. He's a bit like Noiz's caretaker - he lets Noiz do his own thing and interrupts if he needs to and generally tries to teach him how to live right, like a parent. Generally, they get along, although he wishes Noiz would stop pestering him for a fight.
Nobody knows his past, and Mavis has promised not to tell anybody.
Tends to be found sleeping somewhere, and requires coffee to wake up in the morning or he'll wander around like a zombie for two hours after getting out of bed.
Jared can see spirits thanks to his ability, and as a result can see the spirits inside of Anna's dolls.
