a character in “Fairy Tail - A New Generation”, as played by Lostsoulsbleed

Description

Full Name
Amaya Rin Miyuzaki
Image
Image
Nicknames
Rin, Maya
Most commonly she is addressed as Rin, mostly due to people not realizing it isn't her first name, but people have found the nickname suites her quite well due to her distant disposition anyways. Her other, far less common, nickname is Maya. The only people who call her this are her old guild mates and her celestial spirits.

Aliases
The Celestial Wolf, Celestial Demon
Both of Rin's aliases have something to do with both her appearance and her demeanor. Her more common title, The Celestial Wolf, is mostly in part to her guild mark but is also partially because of her tendency to work alone. Her other, less common, title of Celestial Demon is mostly due to her ruthlessness in battle and partially due to her red eyes.

Age
19

Gender
Female

Class
A-Class
Rin aspires to be an S-Class wizard for two reasons. The first of which and most commonly known reason is that she wishes to make her parents, especially her father, proud. The second is that she feels the rank assures that she won't have to rely on, and therefore cause harm or trouble, to come to anyone she cares for.

Magic Type
Holder Magic - Celestial Spirit Mage
Amaya uses a particular type of Celestial Spirit Magic that's power and spirits come from that of the Chinese Zodiac. There are 12 Lapis keys of the zodiac, much like the gold keys of the Western Zodiac, of which Rin has 3, those being the The Rooster, The Sheep, and The Horse. The Lapis keys are far more rare and powerful than the gold just as the Chinese zodiac have been forgotten as were their keys until Rin started looking for them. This hunt started when someone in her old guild gave her the Horse's key not long after her parent's death.

*For info on spirits see bottom*

Appearance
Rin is tall with a willowy figure, long limbs, and the natural grace of a dancer. She carries herself with confidence and tends to have a regal air about her. Accompanying her long black hair Rin has soft features that surround blood red eyes. Along with Storm Shield's guild mark Rin still has Wolf Spirit's guild mark under her left eye, which is about the size of a coin.

Personality
Ever since joining the guild Rin has been a cold and distant person, keeping everyone at arms length. She is often quiet when in the guild hall, staying on the sidelines and keeping to herself. Despite this Rin is well known in the guild for her haughty attitude and biting remarks when she is confronted no matter what the reason. In truth Rin is quite shy and cares deeply for her guild mates and she shows it in the smallest and most easily deniable ways she can. For those in the guild she respects deeply she tends to avoid as to not risk being rude since she feels keeping up her cold demeanor is imperative. Rin believes that by keeping everyone at arms length that she is protecting them and as such she would go to extreme lengths to keep her facade alive.
During jobs on the rare occasion that someone is working with her Rin is even more cold than usual and twice as serious, usually liking to get the job done as fast as possible. Underneath the surface Rin is loyal to a fault, extremely caring, and very kind and cheerful. Despite her best efforts during a job is usually the only time Rin has no choice but to let her guild mates see a glimpse of her true self. Rin is never rude or cold to her spirits, considering them her friends and family. As a result her interactions with them during jobs show a large hint towards her true self.

Interests
Cooking
Rin tries to keep her talent for cooking a secret due to her tendency to make food and leave it in the guild hall anonymously. This most commonly happens when someone in the guild is sick and Rin makes them soup. Despite this it is not hard to discover Rin's talent if someone tried.
Dancing
Rin enjoys dancing a lot, having dabbled in it when she was without a guild. She has become quite skilled, being such a quick learner and having taken a few short lessons from various teachers over the years.
Drawing
This being one of the skills she learned as a child she very rarely does it. Having learned the skill from her mother it often brings up bad memories. On occasion she has a tendency to sketch absentmindedly if she has a something to write with in her hand though it's rare since she usually doesn't allow herself to get distracted or become unaware.

Secrets/Fears
WIP

Bio
As a child, Rin grew up in Wolf Spirit, a small guild based in a town near Serene Cliff. Her mother was a B-Class wizard who joined the guild shortly after it was opened and her father was an S-Class wizard who left his previous guild to be with Rin's mother after meeting her on a job. Not long after her father joined Rin's parents got married and a year later Rin was born. Growing up, Rin's father was always gone on jobs, providing for her and her mother. While she was at the guild Rin was often asking about her father. As a way to keep her out of everyone's hair her mother taught her how to cook eggs when she was five and the next time her father came back from a job she cooked for him. After seeing how happy her father was eating the food she cooked she took on the hobby full-time. She was constantly in the guild kitchen cooking and her talents grew as she got older and taught herself further. When she turned 7 in return for her cooking during his breaks her father started teaching her how to use ice maker magic like his own but she couldn't get the hang of it, only ever creating flowers successfully . Instead, she continued her cooking and even started learning how to draw, deciding magic wasn't as interesting as her two hobbies. Shortly after her 10th birthday her father didn't return from a job he had left to. Worried, Rin was constantly bugging her mother and once her father was over two weeks late her mother went after him. A month later one of Rin's guild mates returned bearing news of her parents death. Despite recovering them they refused to let her see the bodies and her mother's gate keys were all that was left of her parents. After that Rin gave up cooking and completely stopped drawing, only able to remember the looks of love and happiness on her parents faces when she did either. During this time she also refused to take or go through her parent's possessions, in which were her mother's two Jade Keys. A few months after her parent's deaths, one of her guild mates returned from a job with a green key which Rin took great interest in, it seeming familiar. Intrigued, she started reading every book available on keys which eventually led her to a book on celestial spirit magic. It was then that Rin realized the key seemed familiar because of her mother's own Jade key. Almost 6 months later she finally found a book the contained mention of the jade keys of the Chinese zodiac and the way to open the gates. Opening the gate of the Rooster, Rin met
She took on her first B-Class job in Wolf Spirit at the age of 12 and returned without a scratch on her. By the time she was 15 she was an A-Class wizard widely known as the Celestial Wolf, due to her tendency to work alone and her magic type.
When Rin was 16 she was badly injured in a battle during a job and as a result her guild master gave her an ultimatum. She was either to join a team or leave the guild. In result, Rin left her life-long guild and became a rouge wizard, traveling across Fiore and earning money by doing small jobs where she could find them. Since then Rin has traveled across all of Fiore and has now joined Fairy Tail due to a great admiration for some of the wizards in the guild. Having joined two months ago the matter of Rin's team has been a big debate. Despite her quite well known reputation, Master Jia has refused to let Rin take on A-Level jobs by herself, leaving Rin having to pick and complete B and C Level jobs.. Recently there have been a few other mages who needed a group and so Master Jia made an offer to Rin that she could go on A-Class missions by herself if she was on a team for a year, also strongly suggesting joining the other newer members.

Rin's Celestial Spirits
The Rooster
Name: Xiao-Hong; Called: Zoe or Red
Appearance
Personality: Zoe is an extremely caring and intelligent person. Being her mother's celestial spirit she and Rin already knew each other, Zoe being like an aunt to her. Though Zoe is a bit flamboyant at times she is reliable and honest which has helped her and Rin develop a close relationship over the years.
Powers/Abilities:
Time Magic - This gives Zoe the ability to speed up, slow down, and stop time. These affects can be for an entire area or a singular object/person. In most cases, if a person is caught in her time-stopping magic they will not remember it and therefore it would seem they were beaten in the blink of an eye. When she is only altering time the affected parties will usually notice.
Sleep Magic - By using her magic Zoe can cause others to fall asleep or wake up. Due to it's form of use she is unable to target a single person, causing everyone to hear her whistling to fall asleep and everyone to hear her screech to awaken. The volume of her voice is what dictates this ability and how strong it's affects are.
Kyusho-Jutsu - A form of martial arts primarily focusing on the ability to disable, paralyze, or even kill b the striking of certain pressure points.

The Horse
Name: HēiMǎ ;Called: Mamoru, Moru for short
Human Appearance, Horse Appearance, Human Wing Magic Appearance, Horse Wing Magic Appearance
Personality: Moru is a very assertive and opinionated person. He loves to be the center of attention but that comes second to getting what he wants. Despite his assertive nature when it comes to getting what he wants Moru is very easy-going. He's easy to get along with, as long as you don't appose to his interests and opinions, and has an upbeat, friendly personality. Moru is also quite a bit protective of Rin, having been her first Celestial Spirit.
Powers/Abilities:
Transformation Magic - With his Transformation Magic Moru is able to switch between his horse and human form with ease.
High Speed - A Caster Magic that gives the ability to move at extremely fast speeds. Moru mainly uses it in human form to add to the impact of his melee attacks.
Wing Magic - Moru can form wings out of his magical energy allowing him to fly and use the feathers as projectiles.
Healing Magic - Using his magical energy Moru can heal the physical injuries of others. Due to this Rin added the conditon to their contract that he couldn't open his own gate to heal her unless her condition was critical, Rin not wanting her body to be dependant on Moru's magic to heal.

The Sheep
Name: Shu-Ling ;Called: Ayumi
Appearance
Personality: While ~ has a calm and quiet demeanor she is anything but shy. ~ is very confident and dependable, both being useful traits in battle. Ariana Hasani
Things happened so quickly Ariana hardly had time to realize what had happened, but she knew it had begun with the sound of claws clicking against stone. "I found out why it’s a five person job!!! Rin shouted, but was drowned out by an ear splitting screech and a strong WHOOSH sound like a giant wing cutting through the air. The next voice she heard was Tatuo's and it was equally as panicked, "Aria, Miya get out of here now!"

Aria had practically leaped out of her own skin at the roar and whirled around, the blush that had formed on her cheeks due to the intensity at which her heart was beating quickly drained as her eyes fell upon a beast. Even when partially hidden by the shadows of the cave, it was enormous. She could also make out two shapes, Rin and another distinctly bird-like figure (likely one of her zodiac spirits). She could also see that Tatsuo had already struck the first few blows, but that the thing didn't even seemed phased and Aria swallowed hard, forcing fear away. 'This is why Master Jia sent all of us,' she realized, the surprise she felt also being pushed aside like the fear, 'He knew, somehow. And, if he knew this would be here, he knew we'd be able to defeat it.' Standing her ground, Aria's next concern was Dyandin, but her questions were answered a moment later.

"Dammit! Get him out of here! I need more room to fight this thing or the whole damn mountain will come crashing down on us!" Tatuo shouted and she saw him lunge to get out of the cave, which seemed to be collapsing in on itself at the might of the beast, and on his back was a bloody unconscious Dyandin. However the strangest thing happened - there was a tear, like void appeared in front of him, and suddenly Tatsuo, Dyandin and Miya were all in the clearing beside Aria. Confused as to what had happened, Miya's only hint was a salute and wink. "Safe!" she said cheerfully and Aria realized she'd used her portal magic.

Aria knelt at Dyandin's side and paused, checking his vitals. "He's alive," she said, "but needs medical attention immeaditely." She looked up at Miya, an idea dawning on her. "Miya, can you teleport him to the village hospital? Without any of use having access to healing magic, we need to get him away from here, lest he sustain further damage." Then, without waiting for a response, stood and looked at the wyvern. Her face portrayed no emotion but for a small frown. This monster had hurt her comrade badly and, though she hardly knew Dyandin, Fairy Tail never let their fellows go unavenged. Her eyes remaining on the wyvern as she spoke. "We're not running Tatsuo," she said in a monotone, though for the first time since they had all met Ariana, there was a deadly seriousness behind her words, "Master Jia knew what was waiting for us here and teamed us up to take it down."

Taking Dawn from her belt, Aria clicked the button twice and with a SHINK the spines popped out and chain released 6 feet. "So that's what I intend to do." For just a moment there was a flicker of a smile as Ariana glanced at Tatsuo standing beside her, and if he'd met her eyes he would've seen in the violet depths a very... unusual glimmer, for the seemingly emotionless girl. "Try not to slow me down, okay?" she said, her voice level but with a very faint playful undertone. (Had... Had she just made a joking remark?)

However the moment her eyes returned to the rock wall which temporarily sealed the wyvern in the cave, watching as with every attack the wyvern made against it caused the cracks to grow larger, all humor had disappeared and she raised Dawn. Tatsuo was right - it wouldn't hold him for long. Rin and her Zodiac stood closest to the wall, Tatsuo was to Aria's left, Miya could get Dyandin to safety but it was clear by her stance she had no intention of avoiding the battle. 'It has to have a weakness,' she thought, her mind whirling as her feet were slowly moving towards the wyvern's crumbling prison and beginning to gather her magic whilst starting to whirl Dawn over her head, 'It's angry so I could use Emotional Turmoil, but I doubt it'll be very effective. And we can't hope to beat it in strength or speed. So what is it's weakness?'

As suddenly as she had called out to the group Tatsuo was rushing into the cave. "EARTH DRAGON DIAMOND FIST!" Tatsuo jumped over Rin, Dyandin, and Phoenix. When Tatsuo's blow landed the wyvern was forced back a bit but quickly retaliated, swinging it's tail at the blonde boy. Tatsuo slammed into the wall before growling at the wyvern and then biting it's tail. Rin hadn't noticed Miya had followed Tatsuo into the cave until she spoke. "It broke my new puzzle..." Rin turned and almost snarled at the girl. "He's not a fucking toy!" As she had spoken Tatsuo had leapt back at the beast. As the wyvern and Tatsuo exchanged blows the cave began shaking, and rocks began tumbling down from the ceiling. Tatsuo noticed that Rin and the others were still in the cave. "Dammit! Get him out of here! I need more room to fight this thing or the whole damn mountain will come crashing down on us!" Rin's glare snapped to Tatsuo but he just continued his attempts to keep them safe. "EARTH DRAGON WING SHIELD!" He then slammed his fists into the ground, and a large wall made of earth shot up from the ground, blocking the Wyvern from them.

"That won't hold for long! We need to get out of here before the entire cave collapses!" Rin looked around, finally noticing that at some point Phoenix had closed his own gate. Just then Tatsuo grabbed Dyandin and threw him over his shoulder. ” "God, why the hell am I risking my skin for this jerk?" As Tatsuo and Miya turned and ran Rin stared at the wall thoughtfully. ‘I wonder…’ Rin reached for her keys but the stopped and turned, jogging out of the cave and over to the others. As she reached the group she heard what Ariana asked Miya. "Miya, can you teleport him to the village hospital? Without any of use having access to healing magic, we need to get him away from here, lest he sustain further damage." Rin heard a large crack and glanced back to see that the wyvern was almost through Tatsuo’s stone wall. Pulling out the same key she had used at the train station Rin summoned her spirit. "Open, Gate of the Horse. HēiMǎ.” With a flash of silvery-blue light Moru appeared beside Rin. ”Moru get him a safe distance away and then heal him. I want him healthy as a horse, got it? Rin smiled at Moru but her eyes were completely serious. The dark-haired spirit laughed and nodded. With another, less blinding, flash of light the man changed forms. Without hesitation Rin picked Dyandin over and put him on Moru’s back as gently as possible. Rin watched the horse leave the clearing, going down the mountain path they had used to get to the cave. Once the two were out of sight Rin turned and walked over to Tatsuo and Ariana. "Master Jia knew what was waiting for us here and teamed us up to take it down."

Pulling out a new key Rin spoke quickly. "Open, Gate of the Sheep. Shu-Ling!” with a bright flash of silvery-blue light a girl, who looked to be around 12 years old and had white hair, appeared next to her. ”Oneesan! What’s going on?” The dragon let out a screech. ”Oh yikes. Wyvern… Ares? Or something more fun?” The girl sounded excited and hopeful but Rin shook her head. ”No, use Ares. This needs to be over quickly. Moru is healing Dyandin and a wyvern is already going to be hard to beat, even with help.” Rin’s eyes flicked to Tatsuo and Ariana and then back to the spirit. ”Okay Oneesan! Requip! Ares! God of War!” Red light engulfed the girl and when it dissipated she was taller, wearing a full suit of armor and carrying a shield and sword. Turning to Tatsuo, Miya, and Ariana Rin spoke quickly, glancing at the almost destroyed stone wall. ”I think if we hit it with all we’ve got then the combined effect should finish it off. Ayumi no holding back. The girl nodded and the sword and shield she was holding disappeared, being replaced with a great sword and a katana, the latter she handed to Rin. Rin took the blade and turned the handle before swinging it through the air. ”You ready Oneesan?” Rin laughed and smiled, nodding at Ayumi as the final crash of the Wyvern breaking free rang out through the clearing.

Tatsuo was confused when they were suddenly outside of the cave before he remembered Miya's magic. He sat Dyandin on the ground, and threw off his red coat, preparing for a fight. He looked over at Aria, and grinned ever so slightly at her obvious determination. "You're starting to grow on me Purple. Fine, whatever. If you all die it's not gonna be my fault." He stated to her comment about them not running. He glanced over his shoulder to see Rin summoning another spirit, ordering him to take Dyandin out of there, and he watched as he turned into a horse. "Healthy as a horse? You proud of that? Lame."

Tatsuo cracked his neck, and looked over at his teammates. Suppose he do worse. "Alright, Wyverns are basically giant lizards, aim for they're bellies, it's not as armored as the rest of it." He stated. "But the first we need to do is to clip it's wings, aim for it's wings. We need to keep this giant turkey grounded." He ordered. "Pick your shots, you can't just overwhelm it with brute force. Gotta be clever, these things are more wily than they look." He added. He then looked over at Rin, and her newly summoned sheep-spirit thing. "That alright with you?"

And then the Wyvern finally broke through the wall he erected, causing a cloud of dirt to roll out of the cave, sounding as if an explosion went off. The Wyvern screeched as it exited the cave. A smirk swept across his face. "Remember, ground it, and then go for the gut shots! This ain't my first dragon wannabe." He reminded them. Tatsuo stepped forward, and clapped his hands together. "EARTH DRAGON CLAW!" He called out as he slammed his hands into the ground, and four columns of earth shot out of the ground, and towards the beast.

The pillars slammed into the beast, forcing it back slightly, and roaring in pain. "Now get the wings!"

~Miya Winters~

Image

When Aria spoke to Miya, asking her to teleport Dyandin, she remembered that the Wyvern had broken her new puzzle. She frowned, staring at the bloodied wizard. He needed to be fixed. Miya couldn't fix him, and, "It's not teleporting. The correct term is 'travelling'," she mumbled as she thought about her limitations. Trying to travel somewhere outside of her realm of vision that far away... She didn't have good control unless she could see the destination point. But Dyandin was broken. She recalled Rin yelling at her that Dyandin wasn't a toy. Of course he wasn't a toy, he was one of her puzzles. And he was broken...Wait...

Miya blinked. Was she... sad? Before she could think about the strange emotion and memories that went with it, Rin summoned a celestial spirit. Apparently, it did have healing magic, and she told it to take Dyandin far away from here, and to make him as healthy as a horse. She tilted her head at the saying, silent for a moment, before suddenly slapping her cheeks to rid herself of the negative emotion. At about the same time, the Wyvern exploded out from the cave. A smile was replaced on her lips as the rest of her team jumped into action. "Gaaaaaaame start!" she exclaimed with a slight laugh.

Listening to Tatsuo talk about what to do to defeat the Wyvern, Miya wondered why she couldn't simply open a portal on its neck to decapitate it. That would be much simpler and far quicker, however... Seeing everyone fighting together, and fighting together with everyone would be more fun. When Tatsuo told them to go for the wings, Miya saluted with a wink, "Okay!" and went to work on the puzzle box in her hands. Right when the portal was about to open on it, the Wyvern moved, and in retaliation sent pieces of the fallen cave hurtling towards them. Because of this, the portal she was opening on its wing only clipped the tip of it. Her eyes darted back and forth as her hands quickly danced around the obsidian puzzle cube. Other portals appeared in front of the rocks and such that were thrown their way. They disappeared into the portals, and as other portals appeared above the Wyvern, what the Wyvern had propelled towards them was instead propelled towards it's neck and back.

Ariana watched as a gorgeous black stallion, one of Rin's zodiac it seemed, rode off into the trees with Dyandin to heal him and keep him out of the way of danger. Rin then summoned another zodiac who resembled a sheep. ”I think if we hit it with all we’ve got then the combined effect should finish it off. Ayumi no holding back.' Rin's spirit gave an affirmative and Tatsuo instructed them all on how to take this thing down. Aria nodded sharply in response when suddenly the rock wall Tatsuo had put up exploded outwards as the wyvern came crashing through the barrier. "Remember, ground it, and then go for the gut shots! This ain't my first dragon wannabe." Tatsuo yelled, then with a smirk he summoned 4 pillars of earth that knocked the wyvern back, causing it to roar it fury and pain. ""Gaaaaaaame start!" Miya cried gleefully, holding up something that resembled a black rubix cube. She started manipulating it, and Aria saw a portal clip the right wing of the wyvern. As he began flailing rocks began crashing around him and Miya opened portals to catch and telep- er- travel the rocks, causing them to go flying back as him in retaliation.

'It knows losing its wings makes it's belly vulnerable, so it's going to try keep us at a distance where it's too fast and strong for us to hurt it. But if we could disable it somehow...' Aria was struck with the realization. 'Wyverns use their sense of smell to find prey, but with by using Miya's portals to travel it can't follow our scents, so it has to rely on...' Her eyes widened slightly as she watched the wyvern's actions, '...it's vision! That's it! If we could blind it, it wouldn't be able to find us! But how? It's eyes are so small you'd have to get very close to hit them, but then you risk being caught in it's mouth. The only safe spot is from...' The thought went unfinished. Aria knew what she had to do. She couldn't damage the foe - she'd have to leave that to the others - but she could disable it.

Taking a deep breath, Aria pressed the button on Dawn that retracted the spikes and began whirling it over her head. "I'm about to do something stupid," she said out loud, talking to no one in particular and sounding more matter-of-fact than anything else. Then she started running directly towards the creature. The wyvern snaked his head around, attempting to snap at her but instead of jumping backwards she actually jumped towards his head, catching him off guard and allowing her to grab onto one of the long red spikes that protruded from his head. Then she whipped Dawn to the side so that the chain wrapped repeatedly around the neck of the wyvern and her body, effectively tying her to the top of his head and she reached forward to cover the wyvern's eyes with her hands.

The wyvern roared in fury, trying to swipe at her with it's wings and knock her off, but she'd nestled in around it's horns and it was unable to reach her without hurting itself. "Hurry!" she yelled, trying to breath despite the tightness of the chain around her waist/torso and the wyvern's wings uselessly batting at where she was laying against it's head. There was a very distinct urgency in her voice. "It can't locate you by scent if you jump around with Miya's portals, or by sight if I cover his eyes and hearing is not it's strong suit - you'll practically be invisible. This should let you get close enough to him to aim for the base of the wings and the belly, but you'll need to-" Aria was interrupted by the wyvern who roared in fury and began shaking his head violently from side to side, but despite this (and her scream) Dawn's chain kept her in place. Then wyvern stopped, roaring again, furious that he couldn't seem to remove the girl from his head, and Aria took in a gasp for air, "H-HURRY!"

The stone wall broke and the Wyvern quickly emerged from it's stone prison. "Remember, ground it, and then go for the gut shots! This ain't my first dragon wannabe." Miya shouted something excitedly but Rin focused on the dragon before her attention shifted to her blonde teammate again. She watched Tatsuo step forward and clap his hands together. "EARTH DRAGON CLAW!" As Tatsuo slammed his hands into the ground four columns of earth shot out of the ground and slammed into the beast, forcing it back slightly. As the wyvern roared in pain Tatsuo shouted. "Now get the wings!" Rin tensed, waiting for a good opening. Miya's attack had caused the beast to flail, sending rocks flying at them but Miya took care of it before Rin could even begin to worry.

"I'm about to do something stupid." Rin frowned and went to ask Aria what she was talking about but the girl ran forward. Rin tensed and almost reached out to grab the girl but Ayumi shook her head. 'This girl is crazy... If Ayumi thinks she's safe I guess it's okay though... Brave little thing. Rin focused on Aria, who jumped towards the snapping maw of the beast. As the girl wrapped herself to the dragon's head and covered it's eyes Rin laughed. "Hurry! It can't locate you by scent if you jump around with Miya's portals, or by sight if I cover his eyes and hearing is not it's strong suit - you'll practically be invisible. This should let you get close enough to him to aim for the base of the wings and the belly, but you'll need to-" Aria was interrupted by the wyvern as it roared and shook it's head sharply. Rin spoke to Miya quickly. "We can attack on our own but it will be extremely pissed. Can you get us out of there? Without waiting for a response Rin bolted forward, followed by Ayumi. When Rin veered to the left Ayumi veered to the right and the both aimed for a wing. Rin's katana sliced deep into the muscles of the wyvern's left wing, Ayumi's sword inflicting twin damage to the right wing. Both wings fell towards the ground, more a dragging weight then limbs to the beast now. Rin swore and jumped back, trying to avoid the talons of the beast as it's wing fell practically on top of her. Meanwhile, Ayumi spun and sliced her sword into the right side of the beast's underbelly.

Tatsuo's eye's widened as Aria leaped on top of the beast's head. "And here I thought you were the crazy one." He stated, directed at Miya. He watched as Rin, and her spirit-thing attacked the beast. To him it looked like a elegant dance. 'Maybe they aren't that useless after all.' He thought, of course he wouldn't admit that to them. "Yo Spirit chick! You ain't half bad! Any chance we can get you to replace Dyandin? Since he's so useless!" Tatsuo called out to the spirit.

"Alright, my turn!" He stated with a rather bloodthirsty grin. This was obviously his idea of fun. "EARTH DRAGON VICE GRIP!" Tatsuo then sunk the wyvern's right leg into the ground. It wouldn't hold for long, but long enough for him to attack."EARTH DRAGON HURTLING!" Tatsuo summoned forth his stone sword, and rushed forward towards the beast. Tatsuo began slashing wildly at the beast once he got close enough. The wyvern thrashed around trying desperately to stop him.

After several solid blows Tatsuo leaped back. "Aria get out of there! I've got this!" He ordered. "EARTH DRAGON.....ROAR!" Tatsuo took in a deep breath, sucking up small bits f rock, and rubble in his mouth, and then he exhaled, releasing a powerful beam of tremendous magical energy, showing the true potential of a Dragon Slayer such as himself, and what power he truly holds. Once the attack was complete Tatsuo fell to one knee, that attack nearly completely drained him. He'd have to recharge his energy by eating some rocks, and soon.

Tatsuo and Rin, with the aid of Miya's portals, began on onslaught of attacks directed at the wyvern's wings and belly. Aria realized his wings were no longer beating at his head where she clung, but had instead gone slack after Rin and her spirit had sliced the tendons on either side, and Tatsuo was doing heavy damage to it's underbelly. As a result the blinded beast roared in pain and fury, but was unable to properly defend himself.

It was in this moment of victory that the wyvern did something Aria did not expect. Hooking the claws of one of his feet between the chain and his neck, he began pulling down. Bright lights flashed before her eyes and she could feel her ribs breaking inside of her chest as the wyvern crushed the life out of her. Her mind was racing as she desperately held her hands over his eyes, her mouth open in a silent breathless cry. 'Think Aria! If you panic now, it's over. I need something - anything - that I can use to blind him, but wha-' as a lock of hair fell into her eyes she noticed somethings small and red; the two hair clips she always wore. As the wyvern pulled again and she felt herself breaking, Aria didn't think twice. Yanking the clips from her hair she flicked them open and plunged them into the wyvern's beady eyes. Immediately he released his hold on the chains and began flailing with a roar of fury and pain. 'He can't rely on his sense of smell OR sight now,' she thought as she pressed the button that retracted Dawn's chain, releasing her, and she clung to one of his horns desperately.

"Aria get out of there! I've got this!" she heard Tatsuo shout, and she was more than happy to oblige. Now that she was no longer tied on by Dawn's chain, Aria could feel that she was loosing her grip on the wyvern's horns, but what was worse was she could feel the numbness creeping into her limbs. A severe burning sensation in the shape of an X was almost as painful as the bruised ribs she now had. She needed to get out of there fast. But how...? Suddenly something occurred to her and she opened her mouth, "Mi-" however she didn't finish her sentence before she beast shook his head, eager to get rid of the pest, and she started falling. The zero-gravity feeling didn't last long though because an instant later Aria had landed on the ground beside Miya. Glancing over at her teammate, there was a hint of a smile on Aria's face as she said, "Nice catch."

"EARTH DRAGON.....ROAR!" Tatsuo shouted and Aria turned her head just in time to see what could only be described at the power of a dragon slayer, and the wyvern (who was already on his last leg... no pun intended) finally collapsed.

As the dust began to settle she could see Tatsuo had dropped to one knee, obviously having over exerted himself. Rin was standing next to her companion, their breathing just beginning to slow, and Aria could heard Miya was panting softly as well. Aria could feel the bruising of her ribs (fortunately no cracked ribs though), but though they were all exhausted and hurting - they'd won. Pleased by this thought, another one occurred to her: 'Where is Dyandin?'

Yes. It was definitely more fun to support everyone while they fought rather than opening a portal on the beast's neck to decapitate it. Miya wondered for a moment if her teammates would be mad if they knew she could have easily killed the wyvern, but shrugged off the thought. How would they know? And it didn't matter if they knew or what they thought about it anyways. Aria jumping onto the wyvern's head, Rin summoning and fighting with her spirit, Tatsuo's Dragon Slayer magic... Getting to observe everyone's magic , actions, and fighting styles was quite entertaining. If she wasn't focused on working her puzzle, Miya would have jumped up and down laughing.

However, one of her precious puzzles seemed to be in danger of breaking. Miya's face went slack as she concentrated on opening a portal under a falling Aria. A wrong calculation, and she could end up breaking her own puzzle. Instead of breaking her, however, the portal opened where it was supposed to: right under Aria, and the girl landed on her feet out of a portal that Miya opened next to her. Much like earlier, but minus the salute, Miya winked at the girl, exclaiming, "Safe!" It was very slight, but Miya could see a smile on Aria's face as she said, "Nice catch."

Miya grinned, happy with the praise she'd recieved, and a few moments later, Tatsuo ended the battle with his greatest show of Dragon Slayer magic yet. In response, Miya jumped, throwing her puzzle box into the air, exclaiming something close to, "Yay!" before catching it again. They'd won, and she hadn't had to decapitate it... though that was a bit disappointing.

Then, suddenly, a tired feeling came over Miya. It was much heavier than she'd expected. But, then, when was the last time she'd actually used her portals like this..? She ignored a slight blurring of her vision, clapping herself on the cheeks as she heard Aria mention Dyandin. Imeddiately, Miya turned to Rin, "Is he fixed?"

"Dirt. I've been on the ground too many times." he mumbled being flung to the ground by a small mob of boys twice his size."Get up punk. You betrayed us, you betrayed our family." He smiled, blonde streaks flowing side to side as he lowered his head. "You're spouting nonsense. Calling all of us family. This is the real world, not some impiousness dream that you've falsely contrived in your head. People should do what it takes to get to the top, because if you aren't first, you're last. The group stepped back, clearly distressed by Dyandin's word choice. As for the king himself, the words he has said were the only leverage that he had on the people standing in front of him. Soon, his words had the opposite effect, the boys, driven by aimless pride, assaulted Dyandin. Dyandin, being the frail boy he is, couldn't defend himself, and soon the group watching the spectrum dispersed, as the clear victors have been decided. Dyandin was left on the ground to rot, as his eyes closed once again.

A rude awakening, Dyandin's eyes groggily opened to the sounds of fighting in the background. He couldn't help but admire the teamwork that they were demonstrating. Even if he could barely picture what is going on, due to the distance between himself and them. Dyandin awoke to a black steed, the horse turning into a black haired man, clearly satisfied with his work. Dyandin felt around, his body felt loose, his broken arm was gone and all the bruises and cuts have disappeared. Dyandin felt better than he was before. After the battle ended, clearly by the lack of noise coming from the cave, Dyandin decided to make his grand entrance. Dyandin had a good relationship with Moru, thanks to the missions he does with Rin, so he knew the steed would be more than happy to fulfill his request."Mamoru, Would you mind changing back into your other form?

Perfectly timed to answer Aria and Miya's questions, not with words, but with actions. Dyandin slowly rode towards the cave entrance, sitting straight on Moru's back. He raised his arms and announced. "I have arrived my loyal subjects, and I must say, you've put on a grandiose show for the king.

"Yo Spirit chick! You ain't half bad! Any chance we can get you to replace Dyandin? Since he's so useless!" Rin went to call out to Miya as Ayumi giggled. [color=#cc0000]"Hey Mi-" Just then, Miya's portals opened for Rin and Ayumi and they jumped through, appearing beside the purple haired girl. "Thanks Miya." "EARTH DRAGON VICE GRIP!" Rin looked over and watched Tatsuo's magic work, binding the wyvern's right leg into the ground. In quick succession he continued on with his attack. "EARTH DRAGON HURTLING!" Tatsuo' stone sword appeared before he sprinted towards the beast, slashing wildly once he got close enough. The wyvern thrashed and roared as Ayumi leaned towards Rin. "I like his sword..." Rin looked over and up at Ayumi and chuckled, shaking her head. "Weirdo, stop using your armor. I'm starting to get dizzy." The armored woman changed back into the white haired little girl and smiled at Rin. "Better?" Rin nods and looks over as Aria appeared on the other side of Miya. Focusing back on the battle Rin watched Tatsuo's final attack with begrudging praise. "EARTH DRAGON.....ROAR!" Taking a deep breath that blonde exhaled a powerful beam of magical energy, finishing the wyvern off, before falling to one knee.

At Aria's thought, which she had unintentionally spoken out loud, Miya turned to Rin. "Is he fixed?" Ignoring the headache that was quickly making itself known to Rin she nodded, just as Dyandin rode back into the clearing on Mamoru's back. "I have arrived my loyal subjects, and I must say, you've put on a grandiose show for the king." Rin shot Dyandin an angry look and turned away, completely forgetting about Ayumi. As Dyandin rode over the white haired girl ran over. Yanking Dyandin off of Mamoru's back Ayumi pulled him down further still and then smacked him on the back of the head. "Bad Dee! You had Rin worried sick!" The little girl pouts up at Dyandin, as if expecting an explanation while Rin sputters and turns back to face them. "I was not! I'm annoyed!" A blush bloomed across Rin's face as Ayumi raised a brow. Mamoru changed back to his human form and shook his head. "Yeah, sure. You good?" Rin looked over herself and, only finding a small cut on her arm from one of the talons of the fallen beast, nodded. "Yeah, I'm good" Mamoru nodded and disappeared in a flash of white light.

Tatsuo took in several deep, and heavy breaths as his ears rang with static. He stared at the ground as he tried to regain breath. He could feel it, all the adrenaline. Just the rush of power that he felt when he unleashed all his might on the Wyvern. He wondered if it was anything like slaying a real dragon. Maybe one day he'll get to find out how that would feel like. He could barely hear what his teammates were talking about, it was all just noise to him. Tatsuo slammed his fist into the ground, and pulled up a chunk of rock.

Tatsuo pushed himself up, and unsteadily walked over to join the rest of the group. He was so worn out, and it was apparent by the look on his face. As he approached them, and he began munching on his rock he glared at Dyandin. "You get one asshole. Next time I'm going to let you get turned into monster crap." Tatsuo growled at him. He then looked back over at the sheep spirit or whatever it was that Rin summoned. "Yo sheep....person....thing, like I said before we can replace Dyandin with you. You don't seem that useless." He smirked, if only to get on Dyandin's nerves.

He then turned to Aria, and stumbled towards her. "And you!" He growled as he pointed his finger directly in her face. "Are you mental or something?! You don't jump on the back of a Wyvern's head unless you got 'Dragon' and/or 'Slayer' in your job description! Ya.....ya.....Purple Haired Mute!" He snarled at her. "Next time you have the bright idea of jumping on the back of a big ass lizard don't! We leave that stuff for someone who can move a mountain, or ya know more expendable like Dyandin." He added as he shot one more glare at Dyandin.

Tatsuo turned around to face the lifeless body of the Wyvern he finished off, and he finished off his snack of a rock, regaining some of his energy. "We better head back to the village, let the butcher or whatever he was know that we dealt with the problem." He said as he turned towards the town. "For all this trouble I'm at least going to eat the weight of that Wyvern in steak. Whether that butcher likes it or not." He said as he licked his lips, ain't nobody gonna stop him when he's hungry. "And I want something spicy too!"

Aria stared blankly at Tatsuo as he rebuked her. There was no hint of emotion in those violet orbs, no hint of a frown upon her lips, not even a twitch of movement. Now don't be fooled, this did not mean that his words didn't have an effect on her, it was just that at that moment she couldn't feel it. She really couldn't feel anything. There was a searing pain over her chest that felt like she was being branded and made the rest of her body feel cold and numb. The pain was starting to fade however, and she considered herself fortunate that the majority of what she'd felt during her little stunt was adrenaline and pain as opposed to fear or anger, lest she'd definitely have lost consciousness.

"You're right." she said quietly, though there was neither remorse nor fear in her voice as she spoke - a perfectly monotone sound again. "That was dangerous, and if I worried you then I apologize." And that was it. She had no intention of apologizing for the action itself - it had been necessary. As Tatsuo turned away and announced that they ought to head back to the village, Aria pushed herself up from the ground. She was shaking, but she could move - good.

There would be some serious bruising on her ribs the following day thanks to the wyvern attempting to sever her spine with Dawn's chain, and it was a bit painful to take big breaths, but other than that she was uninjured. The first few trembling steps were difficult but Aria was quickly regaining control. Her mind wandered to her hair clips, which were still in the wyvern's eyes, and whether or not she ought to retrieve them. Eventually she decided against it and tried instead to picture the faces of whomever found the wyvern - wondering what they'd think when they saw her handiwork.

Instead her first few steps she took were towards Dyandin. He was not injured. A bit dirty maybe, but ultimately Rin's companion had done a good job. When she reached him, standing no more than a feet in front of him, she was no longer shaking and the X had faded into an uncomfortably warm temperature (though it did not sting anymore). She turned her eyes upwards towards his face, her own very carefully blank. She had questions. Why would he have left them in secret? Especially when Master Jia had explicitly told them to take on the mission together? Did he realize how close to death he was? What would've happened had they arrived too late?

"Dyandin,"

Aria paused a moment or two, before continuing with an internal sigh. Now was not the time or place to ask. "We are relieved to see that you are okay." Then without another word to the self-proclaimed king she turned and started walking in the direction Tatsuo had gone. The sooner they got to the town, the sooner they could collect the reward, and the sooner they all got to go home. Aria took comfort in the fact that, having successful completed her mission with the help of her team, she would now be qualified to go on out of town missions by herself. Though... somewhere in the back of her mind, she had a lingering suspicion that this would not come to pass.

~Miya Winters~

Image

As Dyandin made his appearance, Miya spun towards him much like she'd spun towards Rin. The blurred vision and dizziness she'd experienced only moments earlier returned with her quick motions, which caused her to stumble a bit before regaining her balance. She was excited to see her puzzle was fixed, and when her vision cleared again, she could see his condition was pretty much perfect. She was about to take a step, but her companions conversations made her pause in observation. Rin, Dyandin, and her spirits' exchange made Miya tilt her head with a blank expression as she felt different pieces fall into place. They seemed to know each other rather well and seemed to trust each other, which made her Tatsuo and Aria appear to be outsiders. They must have worked together during other missions, so they were already friends. Her mouth made an "o" before a smile returned to her features as Tatsuo reprimanded Aria. He cares a lot, she thought to herself. Hmm... Yep. I'd get yelled at, so no telling~

With her serious appearance, Miya thought Aria would reprimand Dyandin as well, but when she approached him, all she said was that they were relieved he was okay before following Tatsuo back towards the town. Miya wasn't really relieved. though, as Aria said. It was more like she was simply happy like how a child feels when their favorite doll gets fixed after having its head ripped off. With a shrug, a smile, and a small laugh, she clung to Dyandin much like she had earlier to Tatsuo, but as Dyandin was much taller than Tatsuo, instead of jumping onto his back, she clung to his arm. She pulled on his arm a little, signalling him to "come on" before releasing her hold on him and turning to wave back at Rin with a similar "come on" feel before running ahead of the two after Tatsuo and Aria.

She wanted to tell Master Jia all about what happened when they got back. She had a feeling he knew what they'd end up running into before they left, but that fact didn't bother her at all. Keeping silent whatever he knew had made the experience much more entertaining for her. Plus, she always thought he had a reason for everything.

When she caught up to Aria, Miya hugged her lightly from behind before walking beside her with a skip. She couldn't feel anything broken when she hugged her, so Miya smiled, saying, "Good!" to herself. She figured Aria was fine and began to hum as they made their way back.

"On the ground again..." Dyandin mumbled as he was unmounted and pulled to the dirt by Rin. The blonde was rather quiet, as he did care about the person in question enough to diminish his arrogance. He took the hit in the head without speaking. As his eyes were already down, he noticed the cut on Rin. It seemed out of his logic-bound mind to express discomfort over a small wound like that. However, when the horse vanished, Dyandin pulled a bandage out of his pocket, and wrapped it over the skin-wound without saying a word. He continued straying away from his usual demeanor. He was brought back to respond to Tatsuo's insult.

"Replace? You rabid dog. I am the almighty leader of this group, of course. Dyandin couldn't redeem himself for performing such a stupid decision. As he watched Tatsuo hassle the young woman again, he didn't do anything. It was clearly the maiden that was at fault. "Expendable? The king is anything but expandable, you measly pawn." Dyandin responded to Tatsuo's second comment, as he watched him walk away, talking about a meal or something.

Dyandin directed his attention to Aria as she walked up to him. Nodding to what she has said. Aria always was an interesting sight, her face always emotionless, and unblinking. Her monotone words always accompanied by an emotionless stare. Even if she said that everyone was relieved, her tone didn't necessarily help her case.

The armored man then glanced to the right, a girl was clinging onto his arm. Thanks to facial expressions, Dyandin knew that she told him to hurry up, the purple haired female giving the same glance to Rin. Dyandin also watched as she left the clearing.

Dyandin walked up to Rin. His tone shifted back to before, the man lowering his head. "I apologize...for making you worried. Amaya" Why did Dyandin use her first name? Maybe it was to put more emphasis on his serious demeanor, but Dyandin wasn't too sure himself. Before the oriental girl could answer. Dyandin raised his head, his posture shifted. "Of course, we should get going. My subordinates are waiting for me, Rin." Dyandin followed the group, right behind Miya.

The walk back to the village was a bit shorter than the walk to the cave had been but it felt longer to Aria due to her ribcage squealing in protest with every breath. It was like a constant dull ache and she made a mental note to put ice on the area (though she doubted by that point it would do any good). Unconsciously her arm moved to rest under her breasts, as if in an invisible sling across her mid drift, as if somehow holding it there would make it a little less painful. This was the only sign of pain she gave, however, has her face was again carefully blank with only the faintest frown upon her lips. Tatsuo was right, she probably should've thought that through better, but that would've meant she'd have been standing on the sideline uselessly as the others stood in the way of danger. She'd not known them long nor did she know them well, but they were her guildmates and she refused to simply stare as they fought a beast.

Despite these somewhat disheartening thoughts (none of which she voiced of course) and the bruises that were soon to be coloring her midriff, the travel itself was rather pleasant. Tatsuo and Dyandin bickering (something that felt oddly familiar), Miya humming or talking to herself / anyone listening, and Rin quiet. It felt almost normal and was actually somewhat comforting, though Aria couldn't place the reason for this. Regardless it was nice - definitely preferable to silence. 'Perhaps being on a team wasn't so bad,' she couldn't help but to consider, 'there is certainly power in numbers and it makes the long journeys less dreary.' What a curious idea.

When they arrived at the village they went immediately to the steakhouse / butcher's shop (most because Tatsuo was so insistent on food - Aria made the mental connection between Miya's voids and the bottomless pit that seemed to be Tatsuo's stomach, judging by how much food he claimed he intended to eat). Upon entering the shop the man, bearing a name tag that read "Mr. William", came out from the back room and made a noise of delighted surprise. "You're back! How did it go? I didn't think that running off a few goblins would take so long..." he eyes moved to Dyandin, brows furrowing in disapproval at the dirty armor, a quiet scoff in his voice, "What happened to you? Did you decide to go camping or something and forget your tent?"

Aria stepped forward clearing her throat. "It was somewhat more difficult than anticipated, Mr. William, as there was a wyvern involved." Upon hearing this the immediately shut up, paling a little further as Aria went on. "The goblins seemed to be serving it as a deity of sorts and, though we scared the goblins off with ease, we were caught by surprise. However in spite of this we were able to kill it and you ought not have any more problems with your supplies being raided." Her voice was somewhat chilling, in all honesty. There was no true hostility, but rather a disappointed tone, as scolding the man for being rude to the people who'd just risked their lives for the sake of his restaurant. That was, in fact, exactly what she was doing and the man seemed to understand this as he nodded rather quickly and took the paper from Aria's hands.

"R-Right. Sorry. Thank you. I didn't realize..." he trailed off, reading through the paper (though Aria had the suspicious that this was only so he could avoid her eyes). "I tell you all what; let me get you all the money and a warm meal, on the house, to make up for the trouble. Had I known there was a wyvern..." he trailed off again with a hushed awe, his eyes traveling over the group in poorly concealed surprise. After a moment he cleared his throat, straightening his back, and flapped the paper in their direction. "Go on and sit - we just closed and I was cleaning up, but let me get you some menus to look at while I get your payment." Then with that he turned and walked into the kitchen.

The doors swung behind him only once before he burst through them again, menus under his arm. "Sorry about my, erhm, earlier, um, rudeness. I didn't, uh, mean to be scornful. Ahem." he said quietly to Dyandin as he handed him a menu then, after the awkward apology, moved to give menus out to everyone else, lastly to Aria who'd taken a seat in one of the booths by the window. "Let me know what you'd like - I guarantee that everything is delicious," he said proudly, bustling back towards the kitchen, "I'll be out with your money and to take your orders in a few minutes." then vanishing behind the swinging doors.

Aria opened the menu, absentmindedly brushing away the hair that fell in her eyes (it normally held back by clips, but....). Glancing over the items she had to admit; everything looked delicious. Maybe it was because she was already pretty hungry or because she rarely ate anything as expensive as steak (for free, nonetheless) but either way she could feel her mouth watering slightly.

"Tch...This one is my fault.."

Dyandin mumbled, not audible enough for anyone to catch a word of what he said. He was right, about himself. On the rather short walk to the village, he was given minimal but sufficient time to reflect on his mistakes. The armored man looked around, he saw the pain and open wounds. His early comment on horseback was pouring salt into them, even if it's intention was the lighten the mood. He tried to look strong, but he has come off as someone who doesn't appreciate someone's consideration. The pride of the Great King. What was it? It was reduced to an excuse to act blind to people's good doings.

As Dyandin's thinking time has concluded, his heart was held heavy. He met the restaurant owner's eyes with a concentrated stare, now salt was being rubbed into his wounds. He couldn't take it, he was about to make Mr. Williams into mince meat, but Aria saved the day, by telling him off with a plate of monotone. He was about to act rash again, and so he sheathed his sword once more. Silently thanking the purple-haired robot for her actions.

As the restaurant owner walked away in shame, Dyandin quickly changed out of his armor into something less "glaring". Adorned with a white shirt and dark jeans, with his signature beaded necklace. His sudden change of tone was more or less apparent. Dyandin thought that he was being sneaky, but someone that can sense his emotions, like Aria, can see his despair in a heartbeat. Dyandin was very hungry. Everything on the menu seemed appealing, but chose only a few small things, as he would be stealing from the real heroes.

At this point in time, Dyandin wanted to fight more than anything. Show the world that he isn't a mere body on the ground. A true king fights with his subjects, and only retreats when everyone has gone. He will keep his pride, especially against people that challenge it, (cough cough Tatsuo) but he wouldn't turn a blind eye to anything they have done for his well being. He hoped this thought process wasn't evident on his face. It surely wouldn't help if he mumbled something again, but it didn't stop him. "I will save them. The ground is no place for a king like me." Dyandin mumbled quietly, as he put down the menu.

~Miya Winters~

"Hmmm..." Miya tilted her head, staring blankly at the owner as he first reacted rudely to them, then apologized and decided to treat them. When he promised it was delicious, Miya asked, "If it isn't does that mean I can cut your tongue out?" It wasn't a serious question, but Miya didn't really like this man, and she thought having ones tongue cut out for lying wasn't an unjust punishment. After the man got their menus and such, Miya gazed around the place, watching as her puzzles chose their seats. A smile came onto her face once again as she went to sit next to Aria who was looking over the menu. Seeing the girl's hair fall made her remember that Aria had stabbed the Wyverns eyes with her clips. The image of Aria removing the clips, along with the Wyverns eyes, from its head played in her mind for a moment, making her giggle slightly as she opened her own menu.

Everything pretty much looked the same to Miya. It was food, neither appealing nor unappealing. She didn't find any sweet things listed, so her cheeks puffed out slightly, since sweets were the only thing she actually had a taste for. In her disappointment, though, with where they were it should be obvious the sweets wouldn't be on the menu, she glanced at Aria and then at Dyandin. When she saw him she blinked, tilting her head slightly. He seemed off somehow, and mumbled something Miya couldn't quite hear before putting down his menu. He must have figured out what he wanted, but again, she thought he seemed off somehow. Her curiosity was currently caught by the king who now wore casual clothing. She would be paying closer attention, else she miss something.

Moving her eyes back down to the menu in front of her, Miya's eyebrows furrowed as she hmmed. Finally, she clicked her menu down onto the table, "Well, everything looks the same to me, sooo..." she smiled over at the girl beside her, "I'll just get whatever Aria gets. Problem solved!" Content with her decision, her eyes once again went to Dyandin. Usually Tatsuo would have done or said something to gain her interest by now, but currently, she simply stared at Dyandin as though staring would reveal the inner workings of his mind.

Aria's eyes moved slowly to Dyandin, resting upon his form that had taken a seat at a booth across the room from where she and Miya sat. He'd requipted out of this normal, gold armor and into a fairly normal looking set of clothes. This may have been purely for comfort reasons (she couldn't imagine that the shiny plate gear was comfortable in and of itself), however she suspected otherwise. His eyes were downcast into his menu though they were unfocused as if his mind was far from the idea of food. She wasn't a mind-reader or anything, but she had an acute ability to sense the emotions of others and from he was simply radiating negativity at the moment.

Dyandin felt what seemed to be grief tinged with guilt. It was fairly apparent that his pride had taken a severe blow (which Aria couldn't say was a bad thing) and that he felt bad. Though whether the guilt stemmed from the fact that he had failed to beat the wyvern, or because he'd abandoned his teammates and then failed to beat the wyvern, she could not possibly know. Either way, Dyandin was sad and in spite of herself Aria felt compelled to help. Slowly slipping out of her chair and setting her menu down on the table she walked over to where he sat. She became aware of just how tall he was in comparison - even sitting down his head still came up to her shoulders.

Looking down at him there was no emotion in her expression, but in her eyes there was a distinct softness which was reflected in her voice as she spoke. "It's awfully unbefitting for a King to hang his head so low," she said with an unusual gentleness in her usually monotone voice. Admittedly she'd chosen to appeal to his pride, but she figured that that was were he'd taken the most damage. "Don't blame yourself Dyandin. No matter how powerful a king may be, he alone cannot defeat an army." her eyes flicked around the room and by her side her fingers twitched slightly, before she reached out and placed a light hand on in Dyandin's shoulder. "That's why he has his own."

Unbeknownst to him, she was using Emotion Manipulation. It was a very minor bought of magic and she was using it extremely discretely, however what Dyandin ought to experience as a result was comfort for his damaged pride, reassurance for his guilt, and a bit of a confidence boost - all of these emotions seemingly as a result from her rather simply speech. It wasn't much but with any luck it would be enough to return him to his old self (though hopefully he'd learned his lesson).

Withdrawing her hand there was the slightest bit of a smile tugging at the corner of her cheeks (very similarly to how it had when she'd told Tatsuo to try and keep up). "So do us a favor your highness," she said, the faintest trace of humor on the edge of her otherwise level voice, "and try not to run off without your army next time. Alright?"
