Morning came and at 7:06 Aria was already awake, beginning her morning routine by preparing a light breakfast for herself. It was nothing impressive, merely a slice of two of warmed banana bread with a bit of butter, but it was all she needed. As the banana bread was warming up in the toaster oven, she took to walking through the house and gathering up items she may need before placing them in a simply gray draw-string bag.

"I'll need the poster for the mission, a bit of money, small first aid kit in case someone gets injured, maybe some food for the road, a spare change of clothes..." she said quietly to herself as she deposited said items along with a few others into the sack, before her eyes fell upon the object laying at her bedside and the slightest bit of a smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she walked over to pick it up. "And of course I cannot forget my faithful Dawn."

Aria turned the weapon over in her hands, admiring it. A simple foot-long silver rod with a smooth silver ball about the size of a man's fist on top of it, then two barely noticeable buttons at the bottom of the rod. She pressed the button once and with a metallic SHING sound the smooth silver ball was now covered in inch long spikes, each sharp enough to draw blood. Then, pressing and holding down the button again, thin metal chain released from inside the rod until she was holding a flail. Testing the chain's strength, Aria was suddenly reminded of her breakfast as a small DING echoed from the kitchen. Pushing the button for the third and final time the chain instantly recoiled back into the rod and the ball became smooth again, returning to it's same appearance as it had had when she's first picked it up.

Sadisfied, Aria clipped it onto her belt it it's normal place and pulled the sack over her shoulders before going to collect her breakfast. "Now, am I forgetting anything?" she wondered out loud as she wrapped her breakfast in a napkin and glanced around the kitchen area. After a moment of two's pause she nodded her head affirmatively, "Nope, looks like I got it all." Then, taking a bit of her banana bread she glanced at the clock; 7:34. "I guess I'd better start walking if I don't want to be late."

After turning all the lights off and locking up the house (not that there was really anything worth stealing in there...), Aria started down the path leading to the gate. It too a little bit but she arrived at 7:49, almost ten minutes early, and sat on the bench next to the gate. The sun had just risen and as she ate her breakfast Aria was able to enjoy the cool morning and the sounds of people starting their own morning routines. She smiled faintly, finishing her bread, and took a deep breath before pulling the book from her bag. Flipping to the marked place she became blissfully unaware of her surroundings, contented to immerse herself in the story as she waited for her teammates to arrive.

Apparently Tatsuo had misunderstood, as he seemed to think Miya was offering to buy him food. However, his rambling was quite interesting, so she didn't comment. She'd never thought about it before, but it would make sense if different rocks tasted different. As Tatsuo left as she'd predicted, telling her not to be so chipper, she waved saying, "Bye-bye!"

She glanced around the guildhall for something, or rather someone else, to grab her attention, but nothing did. Bored, and knowing she should probably get ready for tomorrow, she shrugged before running back out of the guild house. She'd never been on a monster hunt before. Neither had she ever seen goblins, so she was quite looking forward to the experience. Plus, this would be her first time leaving Magnolia on a real mission since arriving at Fairy Tail. There were so many things to look forward to.

Once home again, she started looking through her stuff for things she would need to take. By the time she went to bed that night, her room was a disaster area. She didn't mind that at all.

---

Though she'd gone to bed feeling excited, she could hardly sleep from the continuous nightmares. By the time 7:30 rolled around, she was sitting up in her bed with a blank expression, and with a dark aura rolling off of her, though no one was around to feel it. Mechanically, she got out of bed, taking off her pajamas and replacing them with her regular clothing. The only food in her place that she could find were a few apples, so she grabbed one, biting into it as she walked towards the things she'd set out last night.

She belted a bag around her waist, which simply contained multiple throwing knives and her cube. As an afterthought, she went back to her kitchen area to wrap up the rest of the apples and add them to her little bag. She was pretty sure she'd be able to get food from one of the others, but she figured it would be good to have backup. Nothing else caught her attention as something she'd need to take with her, so her knives, cube, and some apples along with the clothes she was wearing were the only things she'd be taking.

Before she left, she made her way into her bathroom to stare in the mirror. The blank expression stared back. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking in a deep breath. When she let it out again, her eyes opened to greet the face of a smiling, I suppose chipper as Tatsuo put it, version of herself. The excitement she felt last night returned as if seeping back into her, and she grinned, exclaiming as she jumped in the air, "Let's go!" and sprinted from her apartment. A few seconds later, though, she sprinted back in to turn the lights out and lock the door. Then, she continued her sprint to their meeting place at the gate.

At about 7:51, the gate, as well as one of her new puzzles appeared in her sight. The girl seemed to be immersed in a book, something Miya herself enjoyed on occasion. She smiled, slowing to a walk until she stopped in front of the girl. She bent over curiously in an attempt to read what Aria was reading upside down.

"Hmmm...."

The next morning Rin awoke to the sound of her alarm at exactly 4:30. Despite her schedule being fairly repetitive Rin was never able to wake up before 10 am without being in a bad mood. After double checking that all her stuff was packed Rin headed out to a nearby gym. While she had her spirits Rin was not the type to sit back as others fought for her and therefore she trained and worked out daily to keep in shape. The beginning of her training was always endurance based whether it was swimming or running. As such by around 5:45 Rin had been exercising for over an hour in the nearly empty gym and had barely worked up a sweat. At exactly 6 Rin was waiting for her sparring partner patiently and knew the moment he joined her on the mat. "I have until 7 and then I have to leave for a job." Turning Rin gave the man before her an indifferent look. Kazuki was a large man, reaching 6'3 in height, with shoulder-length purple hair and a toned physique. She had met him about a month after joining Fairy Tail, both of them spending time at the small gym. Due to Kazuki's aggressive nature once he had decided to spar with Rin she found she didn't have much of a choice. If she was at the gym and wasn't on the mat at exactly 6 am she would either be ambushed wherever she was or he would throw her over his shoulder and carry her to the mat himself. Luckily, Kazuki was an excellent sparring partner and teacher. He had helped her tighten her defense and had started to teach her how to use daggers in fighting rather than just her bare fists. "That's plenty of time to knock you on your ass. Come at me."

At 7:10 Rin was exiting the shower area at the gym, a towel wrapped around her shoulders as she headed towards the exit with her gym bag. After a quick good-bye from Kazuki Rin headed to her apartment and changed clothes before grabbing the bag with her supplies and heading out. She stopped once on the way to the train station to grab breakfast but still managed to make it there by 7:32. Finding a spot where she could relax and watch for her newest temporary team Rin settled into a comfortable position on a bench across the street from the train station.
Arianna was the first to show up at 7:49 and Rin watched as the girl found a seat and pulled out a book. Rin noticed that the girl seemed to lose track of what was going on around her as she read and made a mental note of the fact. Two minutes later Miya showed up and Rin watched the purple-haired girl bend over Arianna's book, sticking her head quite close to Arianna's. Rin waited another few minutes, watching the two girls, before crossing the road at 7:55. "Something's wrong. Dyandin should have been here by now." Rin made sure to keep her facial expression blank but the quiet intensity in her eyes made it obvious she was serious. Just showing that much emotion was usually unheard of from Rin.

Tatsuo was still sleeping rather soundly, and snoring rather loudly as he was spread out on his mattress. As the morning light hit his eyes he began to stir. He sat up, and let out a thunderous yawn, sounding almost like a dragon himself. He tossed his covers off of him, and got out of bed, scouring the clothes that piled up around his bed. Once he found some clothes, which were all pretty much the same, that weren't too dirty he threw them on. As he entered his living room he grabbed himself an igneous rock off of the shelf.

Tatsuo brought down the wall of stone that functioned as his door, and stepped out of his home. He decided to go on to meet his new 'team'. Figuring it'd be best to get this over with. He was already dreading working with Dyandin. A headache was already forming the more, and more he thought about it. He began munching on the lava-formed rock that he took from his home. Delicious. He enjoyed ever little crunch of the rocks. He soon arrived at the agreed meeting point, being roughly 7:55. The female members of the team were already there, his headache would be stayed off for a bit longer.

"Ah who needs the puss!" Tatsuo roared as he entered himself into the conversation. "The guy's just a blow hard." He stated. Tatsuo then finished off the rock he was chewing on. "Let's just go already! I got Goblin's skulls to cave in!" He snarled. "If you fall behind you get left behind, so let's leave him behind." He stated, more like demanded them to do. He just wanted to get this over with as quick as possible. He then glanced over at the new girl, Rin or whatever her name was. "You! I'm gonna tell you what I told them yesterday. Don't slow me down, or get in my way." He ordered as he pointed his finger in her face.

Ariana had not been reading for more than a few minutes before she realized someone was looming over her. Glancing up from the pages that were slightly discolored by age, Aria found the curious eyes of of Miya attempting to read the book upside down. "It's called the Trumpet of the Swan by E. B. White," she said, her voice it's normal (but not unfriendly) monotone, "Its been one of my favorites since I was a child." Seeing two more members of her team approaching Aria closed the book, which had obviously be read and reread countless times over the years judging by the worn cover and fragile binding, and tucked it into her bag once again with the utmost care.

Tatsuo and Amaya walked up about the same time and Aria glanced around wondering where Dyandin was. He wasn't late (yet) but she was a tad bit anxious to leave on time for this mission. The others seemed to be thinking the same as Ariana as, when 8:00 hit, Amaya looked around with a serious expression and said "Something's wrong. Dyandin should have been here by now." Aria nodded slightly in agreement. She didn't think anything was wrong, per say, but perhaps part of Dyandin's "kingly status" was that he was not required to be on time but instead that whatever time he arrived was 'on-time'. However before Aria opened her mouth to mention this, Tatsuo spoke up. "Ah who needs the puss! The guy's just a blow hard." he sneered, taking a bite of what appeared to be a rock ('So they weren't joking about that bit...' Aria thought with mild interest). "Let's just go already! I got Goblin's skulls to cave in! If you fall behind you get left behind, so let's leave him behind."

Aria's facial expression remained indifferent as Tatsuo spoke, however internally she was unsure about leaving Dyandin behind - especially because the Master had specifically instructed that they stay together. However, Aria was also eager to leave... "Perhaps Tatsuo has a point. We ought to go on ahead and begin the journey. If Dyandin is running late, he will surely be able to catch up to us. And if he's gone ahead of us, we will need to catch up to him." Aria said simply, then added "I could hail a carriage, to hasten the journey."

She stood up and slung her bag over her shoulder as Tatsuo pointed rudely at Amaya's face. "You! I'm gonna tell you what I told them yesterday. Don't slow me down, or get in my way." He declared and Aria internally sighed as his brashness. "If everyone is ready then," she said abruptly, interrupting their stand off while her voice kept it's monotonous pitch, "I am eager to leave. If Dyandin is ahead of us," she said, directing the last bit towards Tatsuo, "there may not be any goblins left for us to dispose of."

"Hmmmm..." Miya simply stared at the book in reply to Ariana's comment. "Trumpet of the Swan" was a book she hadn't read, so she couldn't really say much of anything about it. However, learning something new about Aria made her feel ecstatic. Another, though small, puzzle piece of the girl whose emotions seemed to be both dead and alive. When she closed the book, however, Miya blinked, her focus shifting as she noticed the presence of the other members. The other members besides Dyandin, that is.

The girl who pointed out Dyandin's apparent absence Miya very slightly recognized, though she knew nothing about her. Miya looked the girl over quietly, thinking that this must be Rin. She also though the girl seemed to be the serious type, and the intense look in her eyes enforced the idea. Miya's smile faltered a bit, but only for a moment before it was restored by Tatsuo entering into the conversation. He was as rash and demanding as ever, and what she saw as his silliness was a nice break from the sudden heaviness she felt because of the Rin girl. Though, she didn't remember him saying not to slow him down or get in his way. He must have demanded that of Dyandin and Ariana when she'd wandered from the group the day before.

Aria's voice spoke up to end the interesting scene that was starting to build. She shrugged, glancing at the Rin girl. Another puzzle, but one she wasn't thrilled about working. Deciding to ignore the girl at the moment, Miya laughed, clasping her hands behind her back.

"Unless they disposed of him instead," Miya added in a lightly pleasant tone. She blinked tilting her head, "Though I doubt the cute little goblins could do much damage. I imagine they'd actually be pretty easy to dismember."

"Ah who needs the puss!" Rin looked over her shoulder as Tatsuo stomped up to them. "The guy's just a blow hard. Let's just go already! I got Goblin's skulls to cave in!" At Tatsuo's demanding tone Rin raised an eyebrow. "If you fall behind you get left behind, so let's leave him behind." Her expression returned to indifference for only a moment until Tatsuo shoved a finger in her face. "You! I'm gonna tell you what I told them yesterday. Don't slow me down, or get in my way." Rin's eyes narrowed as she listened to Tatsuo. Once he had finished she registered the fact that Ariana and Miya responded but her attention remained on Tatsuo. On one hand injuring a guild mate, especially one on your current team, seemed irrational and unnecessary but the other hand Tatsuo was acting cocky, not to mention annoying. Her mind made up Rin lashed out as quick as a viper. Grabbing Tatsuo's right elbow and left shoulder she yanked him close to her. His balance lost she let go of his shoulder and quickly brought it under and around his right arm. Stepping back and spinning Rin tossed Tatsuo over her shoulder and onto the ground. Dropping Tatsuo's arm Rin crouched down, making sure she was far enough away not to be grabbed before she spoke, looking Tatsuo in the eye.The judo move, performed lightning fast, was completed in only a few moments and just as quickly Rin's expression changed as she looked down at him. Her eyes flared like a blood red flame and her voice was filled with menace. "You are way to arrogant and someone needs to show you your place. You are not any better than us and we are not better than you. We are all your guild mates and capable wizards and you will treat us with the respect that merits. Not only that but you seem to lack respect for woman, other's feelings and well-being, and yourself. I don't know who taught you it was okay to treat people like that but I for one won't tolerate it. From now on I suggest YOU stay out of MY way. Have I made myself clear?" Rin's eyes narrows as she stared at him before she got up and turned away from him, not interested in waiting for a response. The moment she stood Rin's expression went back to one of indifference. "Dyandin is nothing if no a perfectionist. As such he's never late, in fact, he's always five minutes early. As such, I'd assume he went on ahead hoping to complete the mission himself. Either way we should get going. We'll either meet him on the way there or we'll have to help him finish the job."

Tatsuo was caught off guard by Rin's sudden attack. Though he would be lying if he said he wasn't slightly impressed by her speed. But that is beneath the anger that began swelling up inside. All he could hear was white noise as she lectured him. He narrowed his eyes on her, and glared intensely at her. As she turned away from him he stared at the sky for a moment before he burst out into laughter. He then leaped up off the ground, and then held his side from laughing so hard. "You know, my dad had a old saying...."

"EARTH DRAGON HAMMER!" He shouted as he stomped on the ground, and a pillar of earth shot up from the ground, and struck Rin in her stomach. As she staggered back he moved his left arm underneath her's, and grabbed her by the neck. Then he lifted her up slightly, and choke slammed her to the ground. "EARTH DRAGON VICE GRIP!" He shouted as the ground began to liquefy, and overtake Rin. It left all but her head encased in earth. "EARTH DRAGON DIAMOND FIST!" Tatsuo whirled up for a punch as his arm covered itself in rock. Within mere inches of Rin's face Tatsuo stopped.

"You want respect, you gotta earn it." Tatsuo said as his arm returned to normal. "You get one free shot, next time I'm gonna take your head off." He said as he stomped his foot on the ground, causing her to shoot up from the ground, and onto her feet. "Come on, let's go and get this over with." Tatsuo ordered as he turned away from Rin, and started his way out of town, and towards where the job was. But before he was off he broke off a piece of the rock pillar he used on Rin, and began munching on it.

~Miya Winters~

Image

(I apologize if my writing style changes a bit. I’ve started to write something else recently, and it’s influencing my roleplaying. I don’t know if it’s a bad thing or not, yet.)

Miya had suspected that with Aria’s words things would be over with and the four of them would be on their way. However, she suspected incorrectly as the scene she’d thought was over continued with a serious and menacing voice. One, she found, that came from the very girl she’d thought to be the overly serious type. Also, the type she liked to avoid most of the time. At first the girl’s voice made Miya’s smile fade again as she started to reprimand Tatsuo. Though as she took in the girl’s words, actions, and to whom they were directed, Miya’s smile gradually returned to one of a mild curiosity and hopeful expectations.

After a very brief silence, Tatsuo burst out laughing. Miya’s building hopes weren’t disappointed as Tatsuo counter attacked, easily handling Rin before beginning to leave while munching a rock. She couldn’t contain herself as, in a flash, she practically clung to Tatsuo from behind with a gleeful laugh, “Perfect! That was perfect!” before releasing him and jumping in excitement. She began to talk with her hands exaggeratedly, “Imagine what could have happened. If you didn’t stop, her head could’ve just popped off, like, ‘POP!’ and who knows how far it could have gone! Maybe it would have found Dyandin before we could. And the blood would have been everywhere, and-“ she suddenly paused. Taking in a deep breath, she sighed it out with a calm but pleasant expression replacing her excited one.

“Yep. We should probably get going now,” she commented in a pleasantly neutral voice, “since Dyandin left without us.”

During her moment of excited chattering, a thought had occurred to her that made Rin seem more interesting than her first impression. By how she’d spoken only moments earlier, it was obvious Rin knew more about one of Miya’s new favorite puzzles than she did. She glanced at the girl for a moment in thought before turning away and walking towards the direction of their job, humming as she took the black, obsidian puzzle box from her bag and started to mess and play with it as she went.

I'll go ahead and post; let people stumble upon the wyvern and have things get a bit more exciting. My apologies for the choppiness of the post - it's currently 2AM. ^_^'

Ariana showed no outward sign of fear at Amaya (or Rin as she seemed to prefer to be called) as she lunged forward and managed to lay Tatsuo flat on the ground. Nor did she show signs of frustration as Tatsuo retaliated. They were evenly matched, it seemed, in both power and in temperament. 'This is either a very good thing, or a very bad thing.' Ariana thought once their squabble had seemed to pass, 'Possibly it is both.'

However, their quarrel was not due to hatred (like Tatsuo and Dyandin's had been the day prior), but instead due to annoyance and restlessness so Aria was not as concerned with having an episode. Then again, she would be lying if she said she'd not been affected - fortunately her medicine ought to solve that problem. 'Speaking of,' Aria thought, discreetly pulling a small bottle from her bag and pulled the cap off, 'I nearly forgot to take these.' She dumped two small white tablets from the label-less white bottle and replaced the cap, putting it back in her bag before swallowing the two pills and coughing once at the taste.

Then, once that was done, Aria began walking as well.

A matter of hours later...

It had taken awhile for them to arrive at the village due to some bickering along the way, but eventually they had made it to the man who had had his steakhouse stolen from and he gave them directions to the mountains in which the goblins had run off in. After following their tracks for another hour, the group had finally come to a clearing in the forest that exposed the entrance to what seemed to be a small cave. It was there in the clearing that the tracks seemed to had condensed, and upon entering the clearing from the brush jumped out a group of the small creatures.

Image

Aria blinked upon their arrival as she looked upon the crowd of tiny pink critters. They were hardly what she imagined goblins to be with their little sharpened stick spears and leaf armor. "Guys," Aria said blankly, trailing off "You all look around the area for Dyandin and let me take care of these little guys." Kneeling down on the ground as the goblins gathered around, Aria continued her point by saying, "He ought to be somewhere nearby. Perhaps he got lost or something. Check in the cave and surrounding area whilst I handle these little goblins."

Placing her hands on the ground, Aria murmured to herself "Emotion magic, unrelenting Fear." and across the group spread a shadow tinted green that connected with every shadow of the goblins, and they began to quiver. They then began to shriek and cry, dropping their stick spears before running away in sheer terror. After a few short minutes of this, once all of the little critters had fled the areas (including the ones that had fallen over in panic), Aria stood up again and dusted off her knees as if nothing had happened.

"They shouldn't be coming back or bothering any towns ever again." she said simply, totally unconcerned about her demonstration of strange magic and not feeling particularly obliged to explain it to her companions. "Has anyone found a trace of Dyandin yet?" she asked, directing the question at her companions who had (hopefully) been checking the surrounding area whilst she worked her emotion magic. As her eyes moved over them, she began to think to herself 'How odd that such a simple task demand a team of five wizards. Truly I could have handled this one alone, perhaps with a single companion solely because it was out of the city, but four additional wizards?' she looked around that the group, mildly confused. 'Why, Master Jia? This doesn't make any sense. What do you know about this mission that we do not?'

Rin stopped and looked over her shoulder as Tatsuo started laughing, turning to face him as he spoke. "You know, my dad had a old saying.... EARTH DRAGON HAMMER!" Rin definatly wasn't suprised that Tatsuo retaliated, his temper almost of a legendary status, but she definitely didn't expect the ferocity behind the attack. Stumbling back a bit Rin didn't have time to avoid Tatsuo's grasp. Slammed into the ground Rin clenched her teeth together and kept silent, her vision a bit blurred. "EARTH DRAGON VICE GRIP! EARTH DRAGON DIAMOND FIST!" Rin couldn't help but be impressed as the ground beneath her liquefied and she looked at it intrigued. Looking up she found Tatsuo's fist a few inches from her from her face. Her expression impassive she looked up at the dragon slayer. "You want respect, you gotta earn it. You get one free shot, next time I'm gonna take your head off." As he spoke his arm, which she realized was covered in stone, returned to normal and he stomped on the ground. Suddenly on her feet Rin noticed a certain black haired celestial spirit a few feet away, watching Tatsuo with fury in his eyes. "Come on, let's go and get this over with." As Tatsuo walked away her celestial spirit walked over to Rin, glaring at the blond's back. "I don't like him." Rin chuckled and shook her head. "Moru what are you doing here?" Before she could protest he set a hand on top of her head in a brotherly manner. As he used his magic she felt heat radiate from his hand to her head. "My job. See you later." Rin frowned as he disappeared, any possibility of a head injury or headache from Tatsuo's attack gone. "It wasn't even that serious..." Rin looked in the direction Tatsuo walked and then shrugged before moving to follow after, keeping a bit of distance between herself and the group.

~A Few Hours Later~

It had taken awhile for them to arrive at the village due to some bickering along the way, but eventually they had made it to steakhouse. The man who had posted the job and owned the steakhouse gave them directions to the mountains in which the goblins resided. After travelling up the mountain for another hour, the group finally came to a clearing in the forest that exposed the entrance to what seemed to be a small cave.

As Rin looked around at the clearing a group of tiny pink goblins carrying sharpened sticks jumped from the brush. "Guys, You all look around the area for Dyandin and let me take care of these little guys." Rin, her attention temporarily focused on Ariana, watched her kneel down. "He ought to be somewhere nearby. Perhaps he got lost or something. Check in the cave and surrounding area whilst I handle these little goblins." Rin needed no further prompting. Turning away she headed straight for the cave. The inside of the cave was damp and dark and after only a few steps in Rin stopped and pulled out one of her silver keys from a hidden place. ”Open, Gate of the Fire-Bird! Phoenix.”

With a flash of light the cute spirit appeared, the natural glow of his feathers lighting up the dim cave. Looking around near the entrance of the cave it didn’t take her long to find the unconscious Dyandin. ’Has anyone found a trace of Dyandin yet?’ Swearing Rin rushed over to him. Right as she was about to respond to Ariana she heard loud clicking, much like the sound of... Realization dawned on Rin. ”Claws.” Rin turned around quickly and saw the beast behind her. Her eyes now wide Rin looked up slowly until her eyes met those of the large wyvern. For a split second Rin wondered if it was a friendly wyvern but the ear-splitting screech it let out said otherwise. Swearing once more Rin jumped out of the way of the beast’s swiping claws at the last second pulled out a different key. ”I found out why it’s a five person job!!!

Tatsuo was caught off guard when Miya clung to his back. It caused him to spit out the pebbles in his mouth, and drop the rock he was eating. "Get off me you weirdo!" He growled at her as he tried to pry her off of him. "What did I tell you about being chipper yesterday!" He groaned as he pulled on his coat to adjust it. He raised an eyebrow at Miya as she went on about what would have happened if he would have punched Rin. "Yeah....I did it on a Vulcan once, it was nasty." He said rather hesitantly.

Tatsuo rubbed the back of his head, and then glanced over at Aria who was downing some kind of pill. He raised a eyebrow at this but didn't say anything. It wasn't any of his business. Well so long as it didn't cause her to get in his way.

| Hours Later |

As they followed the directions to the mountain clearing, and were 'ambushed' by the Goblins Tatsuo rolled his eyes. "These are the Goblins? Come on! At least give them a less intimidating name....like...uh Fluffernutters.....or uh....I don't know, I'm not good with coming up with names on the spot." He sighed. Tatsuo then cracked his fingers, and rolled his head on his shoulders. "Shouldn't take but five minutes....EARTH DRAGON DIA-" Before Tatsuo could finish his casting he was interrupted by Aria.

Tatsuo rolled his eyes. "Whatever, waste of my energy anyways." He muttered as he placed his hands in his pockets, and walked away to 'search' for Dyandin. He briefly looked back at Aria as she used her magic, interested in seeing it. It was a strange sort of magic at that. He's never seen any like it before. As he unenthusiastically walked around to look fake looking for Dyandin.

Once he neared the cave that Rin inside he stopped however. Tatsuo began sniffing the air surrounding the cave. "Is that....." His eyes then widened at the realization at what it was. It was a familiar smell to him, it was a Wyvern. Tatsuo has crossed paths with such a beast in the past, due to taking jobs where people mistake it for a dragon. The thing might not be a dragon but it was still a nasty creature. "Aria, Miya get out of here now!" He ordered without telling them what was up. He then rushed forward into the cave.

"EARTH DRAGON DIAMOND FIST!" Tatsuo shouted as his left arm became covered in earth. Tatsuo then leaped over Rin, an unconscious Dyandin, and a....large chicken. Ok. He landed a earth shattering blow to the beast's forehead, forcing it back a little bit. As Tatsuo landed back on the ground the Wyvern roared at him, and swung it's large tail at the Dragon Slayer, pinning him to the cave wall. Tatsuo growled at it, and pulled the tail up a bit, and sunk his teeth into it like an animal. It screeched it in pain as it hurled Tatsuo away.

"EARTH DRAGON SCALES!" He shouted as his body was covered in an earth armor. Tatsuo then leaped back at the beast, clinching onto it's neck, and wrestling it into the wall. As they went back and forth the cave began shaking, and rocks began tumbling down from the ceiling. Tatsuo returned to the ground, and noticed this. "Dammit! Get him out of here! I need more room to fight this thing or the whole damn mountain will come crashing down on us!" He ordered. "EARTH DRAGON WING SHIELD!" He then slammed his fists into the ground, and a large wall made of earth shot up from the ground, blocking the Wyvern from them.

On the other side the Wyvern began slamming into the wall, and with each hit it began to crack. Tatsuo snapped back up, and his rock armor fell off his body. "That won't hold for long! We need to get out of here before the entire cave collapses!" He stated. He then grabbed the back of Dyandin, and threw him over his shoulder. "God, why the hell am I risking my skin for this jerk?" He muttered to himself.

It took a while for them to reach their destination, but Miya quite enjoyed the little arguments that delayed them. She was in no hurry, after all, and any interactions between the members of her current team were of interest. When they did reach the steakhouse, however the bickering stopped and they made their way in the direction the man had pointed them in. It didn't take long before they stumbled upon what, apparently, were the goblins.Their appearance made Miya pleased to see that, just like she'd said earlier, they were cute little things, and likely would be very easy to dismember. Whether or not that was the appropriate action, she was ready to do just that as she twisted the cube in her hands. All she'd have to do was open portals and close them on the little goblins' arms, legs, and/or necks. However, it seemed she wouldn't be the one to dispose of the creatures, as first Tatsuo began to do something, but was stopped as Aria took up the job of getting rid of the goblins. She told the rest of them to look for Dyandin.

Miya was okay with that. However, she was curious as to how Ariana would take care of it, so made her way slowly to observe the girl's use of magic. Miya's eyes widened as she, though she couldn't hear what Aria said, saw what she recognized as magic that could be one of two thing. Either Aria's magic placed illusions directly into her victims minds, or she was able to manipulate emotions somehow. Those were the only two things Miya could think of that would make the goblins react in such a way as they did. So it was possible one of her new puzzles had an ability that could be similar to Zeal's. The sudden thought made her frown, but she shook off the feelings that were starting to rise at the memory of her brother and turned, a smile quickly returning to her features as she ran off to search for her lost puzzle, Dyandin.

She saw Tatsuo standing in front of the cave and made her way over as well, though paused as the Dragon Slayer ordered she and Aria to "get out of here." Yeah. That wasn't happening, and it occurred to her that she was more likely than not being underestimated by her team. Oh well. They didn't know anything about her, after all, which she was perfectly fine with.

Despite being told to get away, Miya resumed running to the cave to see Rin, a big human-like bird thing, an unconscious, beat up Dyandin, and Tatsuo jumping at what seemed to be a dragon. No, this was something else. It was a Wyvern. Miya calmly walked over to Rin and Dyandin as Tatsuo confronted the beast and bent down to examine her hurt teammate.

After a moment a deep frown etched its way onto her face. "It broke my new puzzle..." was the only disappointed comment she made before she noticed rocks starting to fall. Not second later and Tatsuo had Dyandin slung over his shoulder after telling them they needed to get out of here before the cave collapsed.

As they began to run towards the exit, Miya didn't think they'd make it in quite enough time. Despite the entertaining idea of them all being crushed, she realized if that happened, she'd never solve her new puzzles, so started to work on the puzzle cube in her hands. "Portal magic. Open," she said unusually monotonous and a dark hole seemed to tear open in front of the group. Before they could blink, they stepped out onto the grass a good distance away from the front of the cave, but within view of it.

Miya sighed before smiling and saluting the group with a wink, "Safe!"

Things happened so quickly Ariana hardly had time to realize what had happened, but she knew it had begun with the sound of claws clicking against stone. "I found out why it’s a five person job!!! Rin shouted, but was drowned out by an ear splitting screech and a strong WHOOSH sound like a giant wing cutting through the air. The next voice she heard was Tatuo's and it was equally as panicked, "Aria, Miya get out of here now!"

Aria had practically leaped out of her own skin at the roar and whirled around, the blush that had formed on her cheeks due to the intensity at which her heart was beating quickly drained as her eyes fell upon a beast. Even when partially hidden by the shadows of the cave, it was enormous. She could also make out two shapes, Rin and another distinctly bird-like figure (likely one of her zodiac spirits). She could also see that Tatsuo had already struck the first few blows, but that the thing didn't even seemed phased and Aria swallowed hard, forcing fear away. 'This is why Master Jia sent all of us,' she realized, the surprise she felt also being pushed aside like the fear, 'He knew, somehow. And, if he knew this would be here, he knew we'd be able to defeat it.' Standing her ground, Aria's next concern was Dyandin, but her questions were answered a moment later.

"Dammit! Get him out of here! I need more room to fight this thing or the whole damn mountain will come crashing down on us!" Tatuo shouted and she saw him lunge to get out of the cave, which seemed to be collapsing in on itself at the might of the beast, and on his back was a bloody unconscious Dyandin. However the strangest thing happened - there was a tear, like void appeared in front of him, and suddenly Tatsuo, Dyandin and Miya were all in the clearing beside Aria. Confused as to what had happened, Miya's only hint was a salute and wink. "Safe!" she said cheerfully and Aria realized she'd used her portal magic.

Aria knelt at Dyandin's side and paused, checking his vitals. "He's alive," she said, "but needs medical attention immeaditely." She looked up at Miya, an idea dawning on her. "Miya, can you teleport him to the village hospital? Without any of use having access to healing magic, we need to get him away from here, lest he sustain further damage." Then, without waiting for a response, stood and looked at the wyvern. Her face portrayed no emotion but for a small frown. This monster had hurt her comrade badly and, though she hardly knew Dyandin, Fairy Tail never let their fellows go unavenged. Her eyes remaining on the wyvern as she spoke. "We're not running Tatsuo," she said in a monotone, though for the first time since they had all met Ariana, there was a deadly seriousness behind her words, "Master Jia knew what was waiting for us here and teamed us up to take it down."

Taking Dawn from her belt, Aria clicked the button twice and with a SHINK the spines popped out and chain released 6 feet. "So that's what I intend to do." For just a moment there was a flicker of a smile as Ariana glanced at Tatsuo standing beside her, and if he'd met her eyes he would've seen in the violet depths a very... unusual glimmer, for the seemingly emotionless girl. "Try not to slow me down, okay?" she said, her voice level but with a very faint playful undertone. (Had... Had she just made a joking remark?)

However the moment her eyes returned to the rock wall which temporarily sealed the wyvern in the cave, watching as with every attack the wyvern made against it caused the cracks to grow larger, all humor had disappeared and she raised Dawn. Tatsuo was right - it wouldn't hold him for long. Rin and her Zodiac stood closest to the wall, Tatsuo was to Aria's left, Miya could get Dyandin to safety but it was clear by her stance she had no intention of avoiding the battle. 'It has to have a weakness,' she thought, her mind whirling as her feet were slowly moving towards the wyvern's crumbling prison and beginning to gather her magic whilst starting to whirl Dawn over her head, 'It's angry so I could use Emotional Turmoil, but I doubt it'll be very effective. And we can't hope to beat it in strength or speed. So what is it's weakness?'

As suddenly as she had called out to the group Tatsuo was rushing into the cave. "EARTH DRAGON DIAMOND FIST!" Tatsuo jumped over Rin, Dyandin, and Phoenix. When Tatsuo's blow landed the wyvern was forced back a bit but quickly retaliated, swinging it's tail at the blonde boy. Tatsuo slammed into the wall before growling at the wyvern and then biting it's tail. Rin hadn't noticed Miya had followed Tatsuo into the cave until she spoke. "It broke my new puzzle..." Rin turned and almost snarled at the girl. "He's not a fucking toy!" As she had spoken Tatsuo had leapt back at the beast. As the wyvern and Tatsuo exchanged blows the cave began shaking, and rocks began tumbling down from the ceiling. Tatsuo noticed that Rin and the others were still in the cave. "Dammit! Get him out of here! I need more room to fight this thing or the whole damn mountain will come crashing down on us!" Rin's glare snapped to Tatsuo but he just continued his attempts to keep them safe. "EARTH DRAGON WING SHIELD!" He then slammed his fists into the ground, and a large wall made of earth shot up from the ground, blocking the Wyvern from them.

"That won't hold for long! We need to get out of here before the entire cave collapses!" Rin looked around, finally noticing that at some point Phoenix had closed his own gate. Just then Tatsuo grabbed Dyandin and threw him over his shoulder. ” "God, why the hell am I risking my skin for this jerk?" As Tatsuo and Miya turned and ran Rin stared at the wall thoughtfully. ‘I wonder…’ Rin reached for her keys but the stopped and turned, jogging out of the cave and over to the others. As she reached the group she heard what Ariana asked Miya. "Miya, can you teleport him to the village hospital? Without any of use having access to healing magic, we need to get him away from here, lest he sustain further damage." Rin heard a large crack and glanced back to see that the wyvern was almost through Tatsuo’s stone wall. Pulling out the same key she had used at the train station Rin summoned her spirit. "Open, Gate of the Horse. HēiMǎ.” With a flash of silvery-blue light Moru appeared beside Rin. ”Moru get him a safe distance away and then heal him. I want him healthy as a horse, got it? Rin smiled at Moru but her eyes were completely serious. The dark-haired spirit laughed and nodded. With another, less blinding, flash of light the man changed forms. Without hesitation Rin picked Dyandin over and put him on Moru’s back as gently as possible. Rin watched the horse leave the clearing, going down the mountain path they had used to get to the cave. Once the two were out of sight Rin turned and walked over to Tatsuo and Ariana. "Master Jia knew what was waiting for us here and teamed us up to take it down."

Pulling out a new key Rin spoke quickly. "Open, Gate of the Sheep. Shu-Ling!” with a bright flash of silvery-blue light a girl, who looked to be around 12 years old and had white hair, appeared next to her. ”Oneesan! What’s going on?” The dragon let out a screech. ”Oh yikes. Wyvern… Ares? Or something more fun?” The girl sounded excited and hopeful but Rin shook her head. ”No, use Ares. This needs to be over quickly. Moru is healing Dyandin and a wyvern is already going to be hard to beat, even with help.” Rin’s eyes flicked to Tatsuo and Ariana and then back to the spirit. ”Okay Oneesan! Requip! Ares! God of War!” Red light engulfed the girl and when it dissipated she was taller, wearing a full suit of armor and carrying a shield and sword. Turning to Tatsuo, Miya, and Ariana Rin spoke quickly, glancing at the almost destroyed stone wall. ”I think if we hit it with all we’ve got then the combined effect should finish it off. Ayumi no holding back. The girl nodded and the sword and shield she was holding disappeared, being replaced with a great sword and a katana, the latter she handed to Rin. Rin took the blade and turned the handle before swinging it through the air. ”You ready Oneesan?” Rin laughed and smiled, nodding at Ayumi as the final crash of the Wyvern breaking free rang out through the clearing.

Tatsuo was confused when they were suddenly outside of the cave before he remembered Miya's magic. He sat Dyandin on the ground, and threw off his red coat, preparing for a fight. He looked over at Aria, and grinned ever so slightly at her obvious determination. "You're starting to grow on me Purple. Fine, whatever. If you all die it's not gonna be my fault." He stated to her comment about them not running. He glanced over his shoulder to see Rin summoning another spirit, ordering him to take Dyandin out of there, and he watched as he turned into a horse. "Healthy as a horse? You proud of that? Lame."

Tatsuo cracked his neck, and looked over at his teammates. Suppose he do worse. "Alright, Wyverns are basically giant lizards, aim for they're bellies, it's not as armored as the rest of it." He stated. "But the first we need to do is to clip it's wings, aim for it's wings. We need to keep this giant turkey grounded." He ordered. "Pick your shots, you can't just overwhelm it with brute force. Gotta be clever, these things are more wily than they look." He added. He then looked over at Rin, and her newly summoned sheep-spirit thing. "That alright with you?"

And then the Wyvern finally broke through the wall he erected, causing a cloud of dirt to roll out of the cave, sounding as if an explosion went off. The Wyvern screeched as it exited the cave. A smirk swept across his face. "Remember, ground it, and then go for the gut shots! This ain't my first dragon wannabe." He reminded them. Tatsuo stepped forward, and clapped his hands together. "EARTH DRAGON CLAW!" He called out as he slammed his hands into the ground, and four columns of earth shot out of the ground, and towards the beast.

The pillars slammed into the beast, forcing it back slightly, and roaring in pain. "Now get the wings!"

~Miya Winters~

When Aria spoke to Miya, asking her to teleport Dyandin, she remembered that the Wyvern had broken her new puzzle. She frowned, staring at the bloodied wizard. He needed to be fixed. Miya couldn't fix him, and, "It's not teleporting. The correct term is 'travelling'," she mumbled as she thought about her limitations. Trying to travel somewhere outside of her realm of vision that far away... She didn't have good control unless she could see the destination point. But Dyandin was broken. She recalled Rin yelling at her that Dyandin wasn't a toy. Of course he wasn't a toy, he was one of her puzzles. And he was broken...Wait...

Miya blinked. Was she... sad? Before she could think about the strange emotion and memories that went with it, Rin summoned a celestial spirit. Apparently, it did have healing magic, and she told it to take Dyandin far away from here, and to make him as healthy as a horse. She tilted her head at the saying, silent for a moment, before suddenly slapping her cheeks to rid herself of the negative emotion. At about the same time, the Wyvern exploded out from the cave. A smile was replaced on her lips as the rest of her team jumped into action. "Gaaaaaaame start!" she exclaimed with a slight laugh.

Listening to Tatsuo talk about what to do to defeat the Wyvern, Miya wondered why she couldn't simply open a portal on its neck to decapitate it. That would be much simpler and far quicker, however... Seeing everyone fighting together, and fighting together with everyone would be more fun. When Tatsuo told them to go for the wings, Miya saluted with a wink, "Okay!" and went to work on the puzzle box in her hands. Right when the portal was about to open on it, the Wyvern moved, and in retaliation sent pieces of the fallen cave hurtling towards them. Because of this, the portal she was opening on its wing only clipped the tip of it. Her eyes darted back and forth as her hands quickly danced around the obsidian puzzle cube. Other portals appeared in front of the rocks and such that were thrown their way. They disappeared into the portals, and as other portals appeared above the Wyvern, what the Wyvern had propelled towards them was instead propelled towards it's neck and back.

Ariana watched as a gorgeous black stallion, one of Rin's zodiac it seemed, rode off into the trees with Dyandin to heal him and keep him out of the way of danger. Rin then summoned another zodiac who resembled a sheep. ”I think if we hit it with all we’ve got then the combined effect should finish it off. Ayumi no holding back.' Rin's spirit gave an affirmative and Tatsuo instructed them all on how to take this thing down. Aria nodded sharply in response when suddenly the rock wall Tatsuo had put up exploded outwards as the wyvern came crashing through the barrier. "Remember, ground it, and then go for the gut shots! This ain't my first dragon wannabe." Tatsuo yelled, then with a smirk he summoned 4 pillars of earth that knocked the wyvern back, causing it to roar it fury and pain. ""Gaaaaaaame start!" Miya cried gleefully, holding up something that resembled a black rubix cube. She started manipulating it, and Aria saw a portal clip the right wing of the wyvern. As he began flailing rocks began crashing around him and Miya opened portals to catch and telep- er- travel the rocks, causing them to go flying back as him in retaliation.

'It knows losing its wings makes it's belly vulnerable, so it's going to try keep us at a distance where it's too fast and strong for us to hurt it. But if we could disable it somehow...' Aria was struck with the realization. 'Wyverns use their sense of smell to find prey, but with by using Miya's portals to travel it can't follow our scents, so it has to rely on...' Her eyes widened slightly as she watched the wyvern's actions, '...it's vision! That's it! If we could blind it, it wouldn't be able to find us! But how? It's eyes are so small you'd have to get very close to hit them, but then you risk being caught in it's mouth. The only safe spot is from...' The thought went unfinished. Aria knew what she had to do. She couldn't damage the foe - she'd have to leave that to the others - but she could disable it.

Taking a deep breath, Aria pressed the button on Dawn that retracted the spikes and began whirling it over her head. "I'm about to do something stupid," she said out loud, talking to no one in particular and sounding more matter-of-fact than anything else. Then she started running directly towards the creature. The wyvern snaked his head around, attempting to snap at her but instead of jumping backwards she actually jumped towards his head, catching him off guard and allowing her to grab onto one of the long red spikes that protruded from his head. Then she whipped Dawn to the side so that the chain wrapped repeatedly around the neck of the wyvern and her body, effectively tying her to the top of his head and she reached forward to cover the wyvern's eyes with her hands.

The wyvern roared in fury, trying to swipe at her with it's wings and knock her off, but she'd nestled in around it's horns and it was unable to reach her without hurting itself. "Hurry!" she yelled, trying to breath despite the tightness of the chain around her waist/torso and the wyvern's wings uselessly batting at where she was laying against it's head. There was a very distinct urgency in her voice. "It can't locate you by scent if you jump around with Miya's portals, or by sight if I cover his eyes and hearing is not it's strong suit - you'll practically be invisible. This should let you get close enough to him to aim for the base of the wings and the belly, but you'll need to-" Aria was interrupted by the wyvern who roared in fury and began shaking his head violently from side to side, but despite this (and her scream) Dawn's chain kept her in place. Then wyvern stopped, roaring again, furious that he couldn't seem to remove the girl from his head, and Aria took in a gasp for air, "H-HURRY!"

"Alright, Wyverns are basically giant lizards, aim for they're bellies, it's not as armored as the rest of it. But the first thing we need to do is to clip it's wings, aim for it's wings. We need to keep this giant turkey grounded. Pick your shots, you can't just overwhelm it with brute force. Gotta be clever, these things are more wily than they look. That alright with you?" Rin looked away from Ayumi and over at Tatsuo before she frowned. "Of course, I might be stubborn but I'm not stupid. You obviously know what your doing." The stone wall broke and the Wyvern quickly emerged from it's stone prison. "Remember, ground it, and then go for the gut shots! This ain't my first dragon wannabe." Miya shouted something excitedly but Rin focused on the dragon before her attention shifted to her blonde teammate again. She watched Tatsuo step forward and clap his hands together. "EARTH DRAGON CLAW!" As Tatsuo slammed his hands into the ground four columns of earth shot out of the ground and slammed into the beast, forcing it back slightly. As the wyvern roared in pain Tatsuo shouted. "Now get the wings!" Rin tensed, waiting for a good opening. Miya's attack had caused the beast to flail, sending rocks flying at them but Miya took care of it before Rin could even begin to worry.

"I'm about to do something stupid." Rin frowned and went to ask Aria what she was talking about but the girl ran forward. Rin tensed and almost reached out to grab the girl but Ayumi shook her head. 'This girl is crazy... If Ayumi thinks she's safe I guess it's okay though... Brave little thing. Rin focused on Aria, who jumped towards the snapping maw of the beast. As the girl wrapped herself to the dragon's head and covered it's eyes Rin laughed. "Hurry! It can't locate you by scent if you jump around with Miya's portals, or by sight if I cover his eyes and hearing is not it's strong suit - you'll practically be invisible. This should let you get close enough to him to aim for the base of the wings and the belly, but you'll need to-" Aria was interrupted by the wyvern as it roared and shook it's head sharply. Rin spoke to Miya quickly. "We can attack on our own but it will be extremely pissed. Can you get us out of there? Without waiting for a response Rin bolted forward, followed by Ayumi. When Rin veered to the left Ayumi veered to the right and the both aimed for a wing. Rin's katana sliced deep into the muscles of the wyvern's left wing, Ayumi's sword inflicting twin damage to the right wing. Both wings fell towards the ground, more a dragging weight then limbs to the beast now. Rin swore and jumped back, trying to avoid the talons of the beast as it's wing fell practically on top of her. Meanwhile, Ayumi spun and sliced her sword into the right side of the beast's underbelly.

Tatsuo's eye's widened as Aria leaped on top of the beast's head. "And here I thought you were the crazy one." He stated, directed at Miya. He watched as Rin, and her spirit-thing attacked the beast. To him it looked like a elegant dance. 'Maybe they aren't that useless after all.' He thought, of course he wouldn't admit that to them. "Yo Spirit chick! You ain't half bad! Any chance we can get you to replace Dyandin? Since he's so useless!" Tatsuo called out to the spirit.

"Alright, my turn!" He stated with a rather bloodthirsty grin. This was obviously his idea of fun. "EARTH DRAGON VICE GRIP!" Tatsuo then sunk the wyvern's right leg into the ground. It wouldn't hold for long, but long enough for him to attack."EARTH DRAGON HURTLING!" Tatsuo summoned forth his stone sword, and rushed forward towards the beast. Tatsuo began slashing wildly at the beast once he got close enough. The wyvern thrashed around trying desperately to stop him.

After several solid blows Tatsuo leaped back. "Aria get out of there! I've got this!" He ordered. "EARTH DRAGON.....ROAR!" Tatsuo took in a deep breath, sucking up small bits f rock, and rubble in his mouth, and then he exhaled, releasing a powerful beam of tremendous magical energy, showing the true potential of a Dragon Slayer such as himself, and what power he truly holds. Once the attack was complete Tatsuo fell to one knee, that attack nearly completely drained him. He'd have to recharge his energy by eating some rocks, and soon.

Tatsuo and Rin, with the aid of Miya's portals, began on onslaught of attacks directed at the wyvern's wings and belly. Aria realized his wings were no longer beating at his head where she clung, but had instead gone slack after Rin and her spirit had sliced the tendons on either side, and Tatsuo was doing heavy damage to it's underbelly. As a result the blinded beast roared in pain and fury, but was unable to properly defend himself.

It was in this moment of victory that the wyvern did something Aria did not expect. Hooking the claws of one of his feet between the chain and his neck, he began pulling down. Bright lights flashed before her eyes and she could feel her ribs breaking inside of her chest as the wyvern crushed the life out of her. Her mind was racing as she desperately held her hands over his eyes, her mouth open in a silent breathless cry. 'Think Aria! If you panic now, it's over. I need something - anything - that I can use to blind him, but wha-' as a lock of hair fell into her eyes she noticed somethings small and red; the two hair clips she always wore. As the wyvern pulled again and she felt herself breaking, Aria didn't think twice. Yanking the clips from her hair she flicked them open and plunged them into the wyvern's beady eyes. Immediately he released his hold on the chains and began flailing with a roar of fury and pain. 'He can't rely on his sense of smell OR sight now,' she thought as she pressed the button that retracted Dawn's chain, releasing her, and she clung to one of his horns desperately.

"Aria get out of there! I've got this!" she heard Tatsuo shout, and she was more than happy to oblige. Now that she was no longer tied on by Dawn's chain, Aria could feel that she was loosing her grip on the wyvern's horns, but what was worse was she could feel the numbness creeping into her limbs. A severe burning sensation in the shape of an X was almost as painful as the bruised ribs she now had. She needed to get out of there fast. But how...? Suddenly something occurred to her and she opened her mouth, "Mi-" however she didn't finish her sentence before she beast shook his head, eager to get rid of the pest, and she started falling. The zero-gravity feeling didn't last long though because an instant later Aria had landed on the ground beside Miya. Glancing over at her teammate, there was a hint of a smile on Aria's face as she said, "Nice catch."

"EARTH DRAGON.....ROAR!" Tatsuo shouted and Aria turned her head just in time to see what could only be described at the power of a dragon slayer, and the wyvern (who was already on his last leg... no pun intended) finally collapsed.

As the dust began to settle she could see Tatsuo had dropped to one knee, obviously having over exerted himself. Rin was standing next to her companion, their breathing just beginning to slow, and Aria could heard Miya was panting softly as well. Aria could feel the bruising of her ribs (fortunately no cracked ribs though), but though they were all exhausted and hurting - they'd won. Pleased by this thought, another one occurred to her: 'Where is Dyandin?'

Yes. It was definitely more fun to support everyone while they fought rather than opening a portal on the beast's neck to decapitate it. Miya wondered for a moment if her teammates would be mad if they knew she could have easily killed the wyvern, but shrugged off the thought. How would they know? And it didn't matter if they knew or what they thought about it anyways. Aria jumping onto the wyvern's head, Rin summoning and fighting with her spirit, Tatsuo's Dragon Slayer magic... Getting to observe everyone's magic , actions, and fighting styles was quite entertaining. If she wasn't focused on working her puzzle, Miya would have jumped up and down laughing.

However, one of her precious puzzles seemed to be in danger of breaking. Miya's face went slack as she concentrated on opening a portal under a falling Aria. A wrong calculation, and she could end up breaking her own puzzle. Instead of breaking her, however, the portal opened where it was supposed to: right under Aria, and the girl landed on her feet out of a portal that Miya opened next to her. Much like earlier, but minus the salute, Miya winked at the girl, exclaiming, "Safe!" It was very slight, but Miya could see a smile on Aria's face as she said, "Nice catch."

Miya grinned, happy with the praise she'd recieved, and a few moments later, Tatsuo ended the battle with his greatest show of Dragon Slayer magic yet. In response, Miya jumped, throwing her puzzle box into the air, exclaiming something close to, "Yay!" before catching it again. They'd won, and she hadn't had to decapitate it... though that was a bit disappointing.

Then, suddenly, a tired feeling came over Miya. It was much heavier than she'd expected. But, then, when was the last time she'd actually used her portals like this..? She ignored a slight blurring of her vision, clapping herself on the cheeks as she heard Aria mention Dyandin. Imeddiately, Miya turned to Rin, "Is he fixed?"

"Dirt. I've been on the ground too many times." he mumbled being flung to the ground by a small mob of boys twice his size."Get up punk. You betrayed us, you betrayed our family." He smiled, blonde streaks flowing side to side as he lowered his head. "You're spouting nonsense. Calling all of us family. This is the real world, not some impiousness dream that you've falsely contrived in your head. People should do what it takes to get to the top, because if you aren't first, you're last. The group stepped back, clearly distressed by Dyandin's word choice. As for the king himself, the words he has said were the only leverage that he had on the people standing in front of him. Soon, his words had the opposite effect, the boys, driven by aimless pride, assaulted Dyandin. Dyandin, being the frail boy he is, couldn't defend himself, and soon the group watching the spectrum dispersed, as the clear victors have been decided. Dyandin was left on the ground to rot, as his eyes closed once again.

A rude awakening, Dyandin's eyes groggily opened to the sounds of fighting in the background. He couldn't help but admire the teamwork that they were demonstrating. Even if he could barely picture what is going on, due to the distance between himself and them. Dyandin awoke to a black steed, the horse turning into a black haired man, clearly satisfied with his work. Dyandin felt around, his body felt loose, his broken arm was gone and all the bruises and cuts have disappeared. Dyandin felt better than he was before. After the battle ended, clearly by the lack of noise coming from the cave, Dyandin decided to make his grand entrance. Dyandin had a good relationship with Moru, thanks to the missions he does with Rin, so he knew the steed would be more than happy to fulfill his request."Mamoru, Would you mind changing back into your other form?

Perfectly timed to answer Aria and Miya's questions, not with words, but with actions. Dyandin slowly rode towards the cave entrance, sitting straight on Moru's back. He raised his arms and announced. "I have arrived my loyal subjects, and I must say, you've put on a grandiose show for the king.

"Yo Spirit chick! You ain't half bad! Any chance we can get you to replace Dyandin? Since he's so useless!" Rin went to call out to Miya as Ayumi giggled. [color=#cc0000]"Hey Mi-" Just then, Miya's portals opened for Rin and Ayumi and they jumped through, appearing beside the purple haired girl. "Thanks Miya." "EARTH DRAGON VICE GRIP!" Rin looked over and watched Tatsuo's magic work, binding the wyvern's right leg into the ground. In quick succession he continued on with his attack. "EARTH DRAGON HURTLING!" Tatsuo' stone sword appeared before he sprinted towards the beast, slashing wildly once he got close enough. The wyvern thrashed and roared as Ayumi leaned towards Rin. "I like his sword..." Rin looked over and up at Ayumi and chuckled, shaking her head. "Weirdo, stop using your armor. I'm starting to get dizzy." The armored woman changed back into the white haired little girl and smiled at Rin. "Better?" Rin nods and looks over as Aria appeared on the other side of Miya. Focusing back on the battle Rin watched Tatsuo's final attack with begrudging praise. "EARTH DRAGON.....ROAR!" Taking a deep breath that blonde exhaled a powerful beam of magical energy, finishing the wyvern off, before falling to one knee.

At Aria's thought, which she had unintentionally spoken out loud, Miya turned to Rin. "Is he fixed?" Ignoring the headache that was quickly making itself known to Rin she nodded, just as Dyandin rode back into the clearing on Mamoru's back. "I have arrived my loyal subjects, and I must say, you've put on a grandiose show for the king." Rin shot Dyandin an angry look and turned away, completely forgetting about Ayumi. As Dyandin rode over the white haired girl ran over. Yanking Dyandin off of Mamoru's back Ayumi pulled him down further still and then smacked him on the back of the head. "Bad Dee! You had Rin worried sick!" The little girl pouts up at Dyandin, as if expecting an explanation while Rin sputters and turns back to face them. "I was not! I'm annoyed!" A blush bloomed across Rin's face as Ayumi raised a brow. Mamoru changed back to his human form and shook his head. "Yeah, sure. You good?" Rin looked over herself and, only finding a small cut on her arm from one of the talons of the fallen beast, nodded. "Yeah, I'm good" Mamoru nodded and disappeared in a flash of white light.

Tatsuo took in several deep, and heavy breaths as his ears rang with static. He stared at the ground as he tried to regain breath. He could feel it, all the adrenaline. Just the rush of power that he felt when he unleashed all his might on the Wyvern. He wondered if it was anything like slaying a real dragon. Maybe one day he'll get to find out how that would feel like. He could barely hear what his teammates were talking about, it was all just noise to him. Tatsuo slammed his fist into the ground, and pulled up a chunk of rock.

Tatsuo pushed himself up, and unsteadily walked over to join the rest of the group. He was so worn out, and it was apparent by the look on his face. As he approached them, and he began munching on his rock he glared at Dyandin. "You get one asshole. Next time I'm going to let you get turned into monster crap." Tatsuo growled at him. He then looked back over at the sheep spirit or whatever it was that Rin summoned. "Yo sheep....person....thing, like I said before we can replace Dyandin with you. You don't seem that useless." He smirked, if only to get on Dyandin's nerves.

He then turned to Aria, and stumbled towards her. "And you!" He growled as he pointed his finger directly in her face. "Are you mental or something?! You don't jump on the back of a Wyvern's head unless you got 'Dragon' and/or 'Slayer' in your job description! Ya.....ya.....Purple Haired Mute!" He snarled at her. "Next time you have the bright idea of jumping on the back of a big ass lizard don't! We leave that stuff for someone who can move a mountain, or ya know more expendable like Dyandin." He added as he shot one more glare at Dyandin.

Tatsuo turned around to face the lifeless body of the Wyvern he finished off, and he finished off his snack of a rock, regaining some of his energy. "We better head back to the village, let the butcher or whatever he was know that we dealt with the problem." He said as he turned towards the town. "For all this trouble I'm at least going to eat the weight of that Wyvern in steak. Whether that butcher likes it or not." He said as he licked his lips, ain't nobody gonna stop him when he's hungry. "And I want something spicy too!"
