BASICS
❝Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.❞

Full Name: Briar Samuel Cousland

Nicknames: "The Red Wrecking Ball"

Age: 42

Gender: Male

Mage: Caster

Magic Type: "Break Magic"

Rank: A

Height: 5'11''

Crest Location: Right Chest

Weight: 185 lbs

Hair Color: Red

Eye Color: A dark blue seeming to mix with an old red, almost Violet

❝Beware, so long as you live, of judging men by their outward appearance.❞
- Jean de la Fontaine

APPEARANCE
❝The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.❞

Rough-cut and looking like he was cut and formed from a scrap of leather, his messy mop of red hair frames the worn and weathered face that has seen much in his moderate life. Holding a gleam of mischief, his eyes are one of the only untouched features left from years of age and fighting. The near violet-like orbs are shifting to a more normal blue hue in color, but hold onto the old flare of red that used to be all too noticeable in his youth. Slash marks trail over his left eye and his fiery red guild crest can be seen when his removes his coat, marked on the right side of his chest.

The long black coat that hangs from Briar's shoulders is more of a cover than it is a fashion choice. The coat serves to hide the many scars and heavily bandaged limbs that litter the rest of his body, focused mainly on his left side. Either a light white-colored shirt loosely covers his torso if he wears a shirt at all, but he is more commonly seen without it, revealing the wrapped bandages extending up his chiseled core. heavy boots and dark pants finish his 'style' in a plain and comfortable way.

Distinct Markings:
The three slash marks across his left eye are the most apparent on his revealed skin, but his body is littered by scars he earned in battle, whether self inflicted by his volatile magic, or dealt by his foes.

❝Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.❞
- Elbert Hubbard

MENTALITY
❝Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.❞

ImagePersonality:
Briar can be described as up front and to the point with a hint of 'what the hell did he just say?!' He tends to do what he wants at any given moment without a care in the world of what might follow. This has often led to quite a few instances where he was forced to tap into his quick-witted side to escape obvious trouble that would quickly follow. Additionally, he seems to have absolutely no filter between his brain and his mouth, often spurting out anything and everything that comes to mind as well as a typically grim sense of humor that he finds nothing wrong with. Add this all together, and no one would be considered wrong when referring to Briar as 'a train wreck with a smile'. These conditions tend to lead to him having a reckless and outgoing nature about him as well, leading to a bit of trouble from time to time. Briar loves being outdoors along with really high places and being actively engaged in most activities while abhorring boredom and waiting alike.

But like a coin, this is only one side of Briar. The other side of him isn't exactly the complete opposite as heads is to tails, rather it compliments the first side. Being a genuinely joyful and laid back person, he enjoys making others laugh, and sometimes, by any means possible. Whether it be a random joke, a friendly gesture, or a full blown random act of recklessness that could potentially end catastrophically for him. His closest friends know him as a confidant and a person who is able to be told anything without the danger of it getting out to the general public. He is generally a trusting person that can give a person the benefit of the doubt, no matter how bad the circumstances may look. Generally, he is seen as laid back and easy going, enjoying the simple beauties in life.

Weaknesses/Fears:
Briar is known as an 'Overly-Trusting' individual. He believes that an individual is nothing if they don't have their word to fall back on and breaking that is an inexcusable offense. Pretty women and Apples are another cause and obstacle for him to overcome when trying to be persuaded into doing something, unless he really doesn't want to, one of these things can usually be an easy bargaining chip with him. He also has a tendency to get drunk and break things quite often, and usually no recollection of the events at later times.

He doesn't have any realistic fears, but once ran around terrified that his own drink was trying to kill him. Few of his friends know this story, but will occasionally bring it up. On this particular occasion, he was obviously drunk...

The "Break Mage"
❝We are born believing. A man bears beliefs as a tree bears apples.❞

"Break Magic":
Briar uses and controls what is known as 'Break Magic', a highly volatile and unstable non-elemental type magic. This magic is a unique manipulation of direct magic power itself both when used by, and used against its user. This opens up a world of unique spells to both offensively and defensively counter attacks and defenses of his opponents. When used by Briar, he can control and shift the magic to do a number of things, as well as lessening or diffusing certain 'effect' spells used against him (Stone Eyes, Magical Brainwashing/Takeover...) Some examples of Briar's most used spells are...

Shatter:
A powerful striking attack originating on the point of impact of a fist. Aside from delivering a bone-shattering strike that may or may not take the person's head off, this basic spell of a Break User can literally shatter certain types of defensive magics. Some example include Barriers, Runes, Physical Projection Magics, Constructs, etc...

Grapple:
One of Briar's favorites, this spell causes up to four magical chains to shoot out from his body (usually the arms). Briar's magic has an uncanny ability to latch onto other magics and he has found a way to solidify this aspect into physical chains that can latch on to an object, or objects, of his choosing. Being a physical manifestation, the chains cannot grasp onto any non-solidified magics such as fireballs or lightning strikes. The chains are not made of any metal, but an extension of magic.

Rebound:
One of Briar's more useful, yet more complicated, spells, he can successfully reflect a direct attack back in the direction it was fired by weaving a three-tiered magic circle. The first two circles slow and absorb a bit of the magical energy from the attack while the third actually reflects the attack itself. The attack is then accelerated through the first two circles back in the direction it came. Due to the absorption part, the attack is slightly weaker than when originally fired, yet the acceleration from the first two circles upon exit cause it to be a little faster in speed.

Desperado:
This spell is quite possibly one of the strongest, yet at the same time, most dangerous in Briar's arsenal. Due to the volatility of his magic, Briar's body is constantly under turmoil due to not being able to successfully release magic at a rate that it builds up or is absorbed. Desperado is a complete release and explosion of the pent up magic inside of him, infusing his body with a god-like catalyst that increases his speed and power by an outrageous amount. Briar is more resistant to external attacks while this is active, yet suffers a considerable amount of damage to himself once the spell is stopped. While using this, his magic is clearly visible as it emanates off of his body in violent waves and will harm anyone within reach due to the intense concentration of magical power and pressure. This is a high risk/high reward spell that quickly drains Briar's magic and prevents him from weaving any other spells until his body recovers.

Strengths and Special Attributes:
Aside from his magic, Briar is incredibly fit and much stronger than his size and climbing age would otherwise indicate. Due to the certain 'defensive' attributes of his magic, he has developed his body into somewhat of a physical powerhouse and has maintained it even through heavy drinking and age. He is very athletic in many other aspects due to the strain his odd magic puts on his body and can withstand stronger attacks that may generally do great harm to another human's body. Though he has toned-down the apparent damage to furniture and dwellings, he is still quite fond of using his own person as a battering ram whenever convenient.

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts:
  • Pair of remarkably heavy knuckles made of high quality steel
  • A bag that contains a near-endless supply of snacks
  • Always has some sort of flask on his person

    Other:
  • He likes to hum random songs because he cannot sing
  • Horrible dancer when put into the spotlight
  • Incredibly stubborn when trying to sleep

❝Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.❞

LIFE

History:
Briar is known to few and considered a friend by less solely because he is rarely in one spot for too long. Many in the guild of Fairy Tail don't really know of his existence, much less anything about him. He has, after all, been in the guild longer than a lot of its current members have been alive. Joining Fairy Tail at a young age, he has stuck with the exciting guild the entire time, refusing to leave even at the beckoning of members that are no longer present. Even being with the guild as long as he has and clearly one of the more powerful members that have joined, he has never participated in the S-Class exams, skipping out on his first exam last minute, and blowing it off completely any other time he had been invited to participate.

Briar has done much for the guild and has taken on some of the most outrageous and dangerous jobs known to this day in Fiore, even without the coveted S-class ranking. Most of them have been completed with relative success in one way or another. There are a few, however, that have taken their toll on even the veteran Break Wizard. On a certain job years ago, Briar's entire left side was ravaged in a terrifying catastrophe that should have killed any ordinary man. The mission was a success, but at a great cost, losing more than one of the people Briar called friends in his guild, and injuring him as he bears the scars to this day.

At the behest of Anaida, Fairy Tail's current guild master and one of his oldest friends, Briar stayed on as a wizard bearing the mark of Fairy Tail as he recovered and set out again on other missions to benefit the guild. Recently, Briar has been gone from the guild for many years now, and is not yet known when he will return.

It never got old. Popping in one people when they least expected it, her high speed. Lily cackled deviously, tapping her fingers together like a classic villain as she thought of how to screw with Briar today. The night before, she interrupted him while he was changing into clothes to sleep in- God, his reaction was priceless! But how would she do it this time? It was a pretty tough question, since she had already done so much that she worried he'd get used to just expecting her to appear. She absently kicked a pebble as she paced around outside. It was morning, and well, everyone was probably meeting each other now to eat, right? At least, that's what she figured. Lily didn't really want to do that yet though.

She tossed her dagger into the air, tapping the hilt with her index finger as it went back down. She focused on an area high above her as she tapped it, and the dagger was sent at blinding speeds to it. Immediately afterwards, with her tongue primed on her lip, she tapped her shoulder and sent herself up to meet with the dagger, and caught it handily midair. A wave of satisfaction hit her as she sent herself just above the ground again, and landed feet first with elegant yet childish flair.

Man, it always feels so awesome to do that.

Lily figured it looked impressive, at least, and put the small dagger back into it's sheath at her waist, and wondered exactly how Briar was doing. But more than that, she was pretty damn hungry and wanted to eat something before her stomach started to growl and mewl for food. She bulleted herself into the air to get a better vantage point, before sending herself back into her room through the window, landing almost silently on the bed, where she absently changed into a skirt, threw shorts on underneath, and put on a sailor top, dumping her raggy nightgown onto Briar's head, covering his face.

Wait 'til he wakes up and sees it on him.

She hopped down the stairs a few at a time, smiling widely at everyone already there- the powerful slayer Ryden, the too serious sword guy Jien, and of course, ink girl Veronica. And why, why did Jien only say good morning to the other two? Lily was there too, even though she had only just arrived, of course.

"Jieeeen!" Lily whined lightly as she sent herself above a chair, landing neatly on it in a sitting position. "You didn't say good morning to me!" She puffed up the air in her cheeks, pushing out her bottom lip in a bit of a pout, and stuck her tongue out at the sword user. "C'mon, c'mon, say good morning to me!"

"Jien hates me, Ryden." She mumbled to the dragon slayer, overly exaggerating a shrug. "I'm all sad now."

"Hm?" Briar's eyes slowly opened and his eyebrows began to rise as he realized he still couldn't see anything. At first, he thought it was still night, but knew that wasn't the case when a tendril of light broke through as whatever was on his face shifted. Plucking the cloth off in a tired motion, he stared at it as it drifted slowly to the floor. "A nightgown?"

'Lili...'

There was no doubt in his mind who the article of clothing belonged to. The young girl was no doubt hiding in one of the many shadows still draping the room, waiting for him to freak out. 'Sorry Lili, not today...' It had been a long night, and any sort of extravagant reaction was beyond Briar's physical capabilities this particular morning. Instead, he grumbled a curse at the light streaming in through the window before swinging his feet down to the cold floor. "Yaaarrrgghh!" The yawn seemed to echo around the room as he stretched before rising to his feet. If he could stay in bed all day, he would. But there were things to punch, and food to eat out there. And right now, the later of the two was his primary concern as his stomach so admirably reminded him.

Throwing on his boots and tucking his pants into them, he tossed on his black, coat-like shroud over his bare shoulders and headed out the door, casting one last glance behind him in an attempt to locate the thirteen year old trouble maker. When he failed to do so, he descended the stairs of the guild and headed toward the main hall. The sounds reached him before the actual sight of the other members in the guild, and for a moment, his hunger was put on hold.

"Who turned on the sun?" Briar said walking up and leaning against the door frame to the guildhall as he shaded his eyes in the bright morning sun.

Within a span of ten seconds away from getting rid of the blonde menace with single shot to the head. Her chance was taken away as the room suddenly changed and she felt her body suddenly be clung onto.. by Liliana. Her eyes glanced down wearily only to have her eardrums ruptured by a shrill voice. Slowly detaching the clingy girl from her body with her hands before muttering "Yes, he can be a handful. Umm thank you for rescuing me?". Her voice was unsure as she stood to her feet, eager to not become the kid's personal slingshot again. With a snap of her fingers the waiting snake around Aniko's laughing body faded. Shaking her head in annoyance she scowled "You were lucky this time you ass."

Carefully making her way over to the quieter guild door were a sleepily looking Briar and eager Armin with food in his arms. Her foul mood brightened slightly at the sight of the boy's ever present smile before she said "Trying to fatten us up again Armin? I swear you always are concerned for the welfare of others. That's a rare sight these days." Her warm tone went several degrees colder as she jabbed her finger at Briar before pointing in the direction of the ever hyper Liliana "Oh by the way you must of accidentally let your puppy out...try to make sure it doesn't happen again.". What she should of said was while you were off your hangover..your little roommate used me for her amusement, why don't you have any type of control over her!

That would be rude though..a faint smirk appeared on her face as she asked "So who drank you under the table last night, or were you up trying keep your charge out trouble. You look exhausted still". Her ink seemed to be concentrating around her Guild stamp forming almost a net like material over her chest. It was a easy way to make the dark violet dress seem to be a bit fancier, who would of thought that such a simple change would make something better.

Tatsou stretched as he woke. He looked around his one room house making sure everything was where he'd left it. Yawning he stood slowly and started getting ready for the day. 'Gah I need to get a job today I'm running out of money and rent's gonna be due soon plus I'm really hungry. He mentally berated himself for putting off work for so long. Once he got himself dressed he swung his sword over his back. It wasn't a normal sword. It had been given to him by Adalinda. The blade was made out of a rare steel that she'd heated and forged herself. The sword was without a doubt his most treasured possession.

He moaned and groaned as he walked his way out of his house quickly picking up the pace as he went. "I need to get there before all the interesting jobs are taken." He continued running until he was able to see the guild hall. He slowed his pace as he noticed the crowd of people gathered in the main yard. "Their all there... Should this be when I go and try to fit in..." He took a deep breath and started walking towards the group eventually ending up just on the outside of the group. He didn't speak up having already done better than he'd expected. 'I'm here if they don't notice me they don't notice me I'm at least here with the group.'

After a while the group disbursed and started looking for jobs. 'Hmm I guess everyone's running short on money. I hope there's still a good job by the time I get up there.' While he waited for the board to clear he want over to the kitchen and grabbed a rather large plate of food and headed over to an empty table.. "At least I'll be able to eat before I leave for my mission." He took a small bite enjoying the taste before it got to be to much. After just a moment he started shoveling the food into his mouth as quickly as he could without choking himself. As he hate his thoughts continued running back to his guild mates. He sighed softly pausing his feeding frenzy. "I wonder why I have such a hard time with people. It'd be so much easier if someone came to sit with me."

'Puppy...?' Briar thought at the remark from Veronica as she approached and pointed an accusing finger at him and over to Lilina in turn. 'That girl is anything but a puppy, 'demon' would be more accurate.' He chuckled as the thought forced its way into his mind and he involuntarily scratched his head, ruffling the fiery crop of hair.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, he focused his eyes once more as he found himself staring at the odd swirls of ink on her dress than at her face. It was far too early in the morning for these kind of illusions and he was having a bit of trouble actually hearing what she was saying, mostly due to the distraction of her dress. "Hey," he said, spreading his arms in a defensive gesture, "Lily's old enough to do stuff without me holding her hand at every turn. Besides..." His tone changed suddenly to a slightly playful one, "if I'm really going to be the babysitter and upstanding individual in this guild, I think we're all screwed!"

The burst of laughter that followed at his own joke was a combination of early morning giddiness and a slight influence of his hangover. Truth be told, he really didn't remember what he had done last night that was making him so tired this morning. And that usually equated to a large sum of alcohol in almost every case. "In any case," he started as his eyes locked on the bag of potatoes Armin was carrying, "who cares what I did last night? I'm more concerned for what I'm going to eat today!"

Without warning, Briar was wide awake and launched himself at the young, golden-haired boy. In one smooth motion, he scooped up the youth and hefted Armin over his should with incredible ease. "C'mon, I'm starving!" He said in a rush of words as he snatched Veronica's hand and drug her along with them as he sped off. Armin slung over his shoulder, and Veronica being drug behind, Briar bounded through the guild passing the others huddled around the mission boards as he did so.

Subtlety wasn't always his strong suit...

■ Armin Chariot Wells ■

Ah...there goes Lilliana. Armin watched her run off rather quickly without saying much and he blinked in confusion. With his arrival were there just too many people around for her? Maybe she just didn't like sweet potatoes.

"Trying to fatten us up again Armin? I swear you always are concerned for the welfare of others. That's a rare sight these days." Veronica had said to him and he let himself focus on that rather than the reason why Lilly disappeared.

"I couldn't pass up sweet potatoes!" He said with his usual little smile, bringing the brown bag back against his chest. Veronica had begun to lecture Briar, who'd come down not long after Armin showed up, now about something that must've happened while Armin wasn't around since he couldn't really figure out what she was talking about, but he stood there quietly listening anyway, giggling a little when Veronica called Lilina a 'puppy'. Now that he thought about it the small girl did sort of act like one, especially with Briar. A pair of ears and a tail would probably fit her, to be honest.

As Veronica and Briar talked Armin let his eyes move across the guild hall. It didn't look like everyone was here, but quite a few of them had already showed up, including Saphira who, before even finishing whatever she was going to ask them, went off to stand by Jien and the other two guys. As he was about to turn back to Veronica he stopped when he spotted Tatou. That's right, he'd passed them by not too long ago and was now eating...rather vigorously by himself.

"In any case, who cares what I did last night? I'm more concerned for what I'm going to eat today!"

Armin moved his eyes back in Briar's direction, tensing up a little once he noticed how intently the man was staring at the sack of potatoes in his arms. "O-oh, well I-" He began with a sheepish smile, only to have his sentence cut off when he found himself being picked up without warning. He let out a small yelp in surprise, quickly holding the bag up so the potatoes wouldn't get mushed as he was slung over Briar's shoulder.

"C'mon, I'm starving!"

"B-Briar-san! I'd rather you not carry me like a child!" He said in a sort of helpless tone. It wouldn't be much longer until Armin turned 17, yet he could still be picked up and thrown over someone's shoulder so easily. Something about that made the blond boy feel kind of small... Of course he was small, but still...

Armin let his arms relax as he held tight to the bag in his fingers and let out a sigh.

A faint blush appeared on Veronica's face as Briar's eyes none too smoothly eyed her chest. ~Is he really...doing..that right now..or is it the illusion that distracting him~ she thought, while trying to ease her blush away. Slightly grinning at the mention of his occupation as a temporary baby-sitter for the spunky girl with the speed magic before muttering "Yes, if you were in charge of all the little brats in the guild, I swear our repair bills would skyrocket. I doubt Azura would like that idea." A true giggle escaped her lips as the man began complaining of the lack of food in his stomach. A typical male comment, he was proving her idea that men had one track minds.

Her eyes widened in surprise at the agility as her hand was pulled along tightly by the warm hand of Briar's. Thankfully she was no being subjected to same treatment as Armin was, who appeared to be resigned to his fate. As her face flushed crimson once more as she hoped no one was observing them to closely. As they came to halt, she quickly took her hand from his before muttering "You really need to work on your tactics Briar. I just hope Aniko doesn't try that on me..my response would not be as willing..". Her face seemed to turn even redder as she realized that she would of preferred to have her handheld by the crimson maned man..rather than the blonde angel.

~Why is it always around attractive men I trip over my tongue..~ she thought with irritation. Glancing at Armin she whispered to him "Are you okay? I don't think people mind when you bring in those delicious potatoes, but I doubt you like being carried around like a sack of one.~ Still, the bag that was being clutched in the boy's hand in a death grip, did smell tempting right now. Although she doubted that he would willing part with them while in such a embarrassing predicament.

Well, that was kind of a surprise. Princess Lilly was actually going along with it? As Lily scrutinized her somewhat shaking, nervous friend, she figured that maybe the Princess just felt like stepping up a bit. Maybe to challenge herself. Still, Lily figured the Princess to be more for missions like "Do a dramatic reading for a play for the school children!", or perhaps "Teach religious values into my husband!". And yes, she scoffed when seeing requests like that. Seriously, the only cool jobs are the combat ones; those are the ones will all th glory and the danger. None of the others matter. Another question is why turn to a guild for the religious values request. Why not just ask some religious institute? Wouldn't that make more sense? Honestly, some people. Ridiculous, Lily thought.

Lily smirked at her friend; her name-twin, and with a little knowing smile, tapped the Princess on the head, before sending the pair speeding through the halls again until they almost crashed into Armin, hooked by the arm to Briar, with Veronica behind him. It would have been awesome if it wasn't so awkward- and there was a tense silence as Lily picked herself up off of the floor, rubbing her head irritably.

Right, right. Cute face, go!

"Ah, sorry!" She said in a honeyed voice. "I made a little oopsie, haha!"

Okay, what the hell's going on between Wells and Lilly, anyways?

Only an idiot could have missed somehow that the once close Armin and Lilly were more distant now, mostly on the Princess' fault. And, well, since Lilina definitely wasn't an idiot, of course she'd have noticed it. So like any good, doting friend, Lily used her magic to send the Princess knocking into the moral center of the guild, the plant boy, struggling not to laugh.

"Heh, whoops!" Lily exclaimed, and then turned specifically to Briar. "Yo, anyways, Briar. We got a job- save the kidnapped daughter of blah blah town." She laughed nonchalantly, and continued. "It's Rank B, so the two of us should be able to handle it while Princess here," Jutting a thumb at the girl, "can get some worthwhile practice."

Veronica merely watched the scene between Briar and Ryden with mild interest. Her eyes widening slightly as Ryden put Briar into a headlock ~I don't understand these men at all. How does violence equal friendship~ she thought with amusement as the redhaired man was brutally lectured by Ryden on the qualities of training. Shaking her head slightly, a faint smile on her face at the antics of them.

She glanced at the two Lilys' wondering how they would react now that their muscle on the team was dragged away from them. Although knowing Lillian, she would cause antics to piss off Ryden and then use Princess as a peace agreement. Or at least thats what Veronica would have done if she was in their place. Still the puppy was a troublemaker and it wasn't even near noon. Deciding it would be best to stay out of the way planning she walked over to the quieter location where Saphira and Jian were sitting. From the looks of their expressions Saphira was motherhenning Jian on his training techniques. The kid did push himself a bit too far sometimes, but on the other hand Saphira needed to lighten up a little bit on the mothering.

"Saphira, I think you don't really understand Jien's training methods. His determination seems to be his driving force. I don't he minds a few nicks and bruises every time he makes a mistake. I think that is a wonderful way of learning. Am I right Jien?" She asked quietly, trying to be neutral in the event that it could turn into an argument. Although Saphria was a Dragon Slayer. she seemed to have none of legendary temper bestowed on the magic users.

■ Armin Chariot Wells ■

"Are you okay? I don't think people mind when you bring in those delicious potatoes, but I doubt you like being carried around like a sack of one.~"

"Oh, no. I'm fine!" He said, giving Veronica a reassuring smile before letting out a small sigh, relieved to have his feet back on the floor of the guild hall once again. It's not as if he was too bothered by it, in fact Armin really enjoyed the liveliness of the guild in the mornings. It wasn't just Briar, but Lilina and Ryden and the others who seemed to fill the guild with such energy. It could become troublesome sometimes, like if Akio became to flirty with someone and got himself punched in the face or worse, but Armin had gotten used to the roughhousing of the other guild members. His aunt and uncle did tell him that he'd always have a place to come home to, but he couldn't imagine being anywhere but here.

Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted when out of nowhere the body of another person, Lilliana to be precise, bumped into him quite roughly. If he hadn't of been holding onto the top of the sack of potatoes so tightly it probably would've fallen onto the floor.

"Ah, sorry!" He heard Lilina say. He'd barely had the time to notice that she'd fallen rump first onto the floor and was now picking herself up from where she'd landed. "I made a little oopsie, haha!"

Lilina messed up? That wasn't something that happened often. Either way it was an accident so he gave her a nod before she began to talk to Briar about going on a mission and he turned to face Lilliana.

"You're going on a B rank mission, Lilly? That's a first! I bet you're going to do really good!" He said to her with an excited smile before bringing the index finger of his left hand up and lightly scratching his cheek "Speaking of which I was hoping to try one myself today, but I haven't got anyone to partner up with. Oh, that's right!" His eyes widened for a second in realization and he looked up a as if to ponder through his head. "If you'll excuse me, Lilly-chan." He said, looking back at her and bowing his head a little before turning around.

Tatsou was still sitting by himself, his food nearly gone now though. He really must've put a lot on his plate. Armin had thought about approaching him earlier to warn him that if he ate that much he might get a stomach ache, but with him getting thrown over Brair's shoulder an all...he got a little side-tracked and completely forgot that he was sitting by himself.

"Good morning, Tatsou!" He said cheerfully, sitting himself down next to him after setting the bag of potatoes on the table top behind them. He could probably just leave it there for now and let others help themselves. He couldn't go carrying it around with him after all, and he wasn't very hungry himself. Armin never really ate that much, which was probably why he wasn't very tall nor muscular. Maybe he should eat more...

"I heard earlier that Ryden is going on an A rank mission. Cool right? Are you planning on going on any missions today?" The blond asked curiously, resting his arms crossed over each other on the table and leaning forward slightly.

Uh-oh. She had done it now! Of all the people around her, why did she have to crash-land into her dear Armin?!

With a muffled 'thump!', Lilliana let out an 'Oompf!' as the air in her lungs was literally squeezed out. Her eyes fell on Lilina, who was quick to recover from her fall, before darting to the person she herself had bumped into.

The blank stare on her face was coloured a deep red soon enough, and the princess quickly buried her head in the collar of her clothes as far as she could. Slim fingers fidgeted around with the cover of the book they were holding, pressing one side heavily into the girl's chest.

“S-S-sorry...” Came a muffled response from Lilliana, her eyes sneaking a blurry peek from underneath some fringes of brown hair to witness the boy's reaction to her clumsy action.

Her stupidity couldn't have caught her in a more uncomfortable situation, and all the while, Lilliana kept hoping something else would drag her away from this forced confrontation.

Oh dear, oh dear! He wasn't going to be angry at her, right? Find her weird, or annoying?

“You're going on a B rank mission, Lilly? That's a first! I bet you're going to do really good!”

The girl blinked. He isn't mad? He isn't mad! Her little heart raced with joy, her lips forming a genuine smile, though she was far too nervous to actually dare and lift her head. “Y-yeah...” She answered rather hastily, the low whisper even more muffled with Lilliana's head hung low.

She was going al right, but she wasn't going to do any real physical work. Upon the reminder that she had actually chosen to go, Lilliana couldn't help but feel a little discouraged by Armin's words. What am I thinking?! There was no way she'd be helpful. At all! She'd be luggage with legs, and Briar and Lilina would be pulling off two jobs at once! Why am I such a klutz today!

Her inner stress was subdued by Armin excusing himself, and bowing his head before leaving to join Tatsuo at his table. “B-Bye.” Lilliana followed her little prince with her eyes, suppressing the urge to leap and embrace him for being so kind to her. Again.

Looking at Tatsuo, the girl greeted the quiet dragon slayer with a graceful bow and flashed Armin an almost unnoticeable wave – Her fingers barely leaving the surface of the book.

Her smile widened as she murmured, “We talked...”, before twirling around and join up with her team. Her head still as red as a freshly plucked tomato.

I feel so fuzzy! A hand lifted to her face, gently pressing itself on her cheek. Something that was so simple had really sapped her morning energy, and her usual worries about the mission rose once more. “Ehm... I- Ah...” She sighed, facing the tall man with the fiery hair. “Mister Briar, eh... sir,” Lilliana adjust her pose, finally allowing her tightened arms to loosen up a bit. “At what time do you wish to leave?”

As Saphira wandered away..and ended up nearly face planting on the floor due the shock from Akio's loud voice. Shaking her head wearily she glanced at Jien newly healed shoulder and asked "So what exactly where you doing when you injured yourself? Don't you think it would be wiser to have one of the more experienced members observe you before you end loosing a limb doing some fancy swordsmanship? I am sure Briar or Ryden would be willing to..". Her voice sounded neutral at first, but bits of worry crept into it as she began to imagine much worse scenarios happening."

In truth, she did worry when Jien got flashy with his swordplay..even more dangerous when he mixed his own style of magic into it. Cocking her head to the side with a slight smile on her face she asked softly "Speaking of training..I haven't had the chance to spar with you yet have I? Would mind training with me today? At least before your job today..". Her tone was hesitant as if she was worried about getting rejected..even by one of her teammates. She was interested in seeing his magic, maybe getting to know him a bit better. ~Although hopefully Brian and Ryden haven not destroyed the training area yet..~
