The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 6 authors
Asa had just made it to the door and was about to walk outside when she jumped a little, hearing someone clear their throat behind her, she took a deep breath, not wanting to freak out like she did earlier and ruin the home of the people who had welcomed her into their world. She turned around slowly and saw it was the boy who had invited her here in the first place. She looked at him with her wide, grey eyes, deep and mysterious, filled with untold secrets, little orbs that reflected the moon itself. She listened to him explain that there was a shed outside where she could see the moon but have a bit of shelter. She looked down at the blanket he offered her and stared at it for a moment, glancing up at him then back down to the blanket as she reached out with her small, pale hands to take it, looking down softly as she spoke for the first time, whispering in her soft, almost child-like voice. "Thank you..."
Hunter felt relieved, even if a bit skeptical over Jin's words. Sure, he was joking about expelling him over any little flaw, but, he is unsure if he would be the exception. Still, Hunter merely gave a hmph over the joke at his own expense. He then looked down at his own drink as Jin partook in his own. He would need to sit his case down to lift up the face plate to drink from his own mug. Yet he hadn't the time to do so as Jin explained what they expected from their members. They seemed pretty lenient and only wanted good team work, which he understands. The issue for himself was, he never was apart of a team for long until he met with expulsion. He could work by himself to help earn more time but it seems this guild was heavily team oriented. He wasn't quite sure about the aura bit, sure he may seem alright enough, but...there are some things to the contrary.
He decided to follow Jin's advice as he nodded when he left to go do the paperwork. "Well, they do have some basic procedures." Hunter thought to himself. He decided to sit himself down at the bar with his drink as he sat his luggage to the side. He did talk with a few, but some found it difficult to hear him through the helmet. Then that led to the inevitable question of why the helmet? It was then Hunter responded with a dead coldness, "That is business of my own, do not ask me again." He said without ever raising his voice. Yet the tone made those around him feel quite frightened of the man, he was definitely not the person to mess with. He then placed a few fingers at the tip of his helmet and lifted the face plate as it slid a bit over his eyes. Some Guild members could help but take a peak. Unfortunately for them, the face plate only revealed his chin and part of his lips. Hardly the exposé they wanted.
___________
Besides the minor threat, the rest of the celebration was uneventful. While some did seem to consider fighting alongside him, the rest of the guild couldn't get a good reading on the helmeted mage, like Jin seems to have done. This uncertainty surrounding him and his obvious predilection for privacy, will make it hard for immediate team building. Some already believe he will be another Equtas except for the fact Hunter will actually speak. It was getting late, and Hunter was in his room getting himself acclimated to it's surroundings. He unpacked his suitcase and was in his late night dressings, the only constant was his helmet. He believed he may have heard a few guild mages stirring about outside, but it didn't really interest the new member. He very much was content to just staying inside. He looked at the unsealed mattress and decided to lie his helmeted head down on the pillow.
It would seem rather silly to sleep with such a thing on your head. It must not be very comfortable to begin with, let alone sleeping the whole night away still wearing it. Hunter has done this time and time again, he wouldn't be comfortable without it on. He doesn't trust that no curious soul would check in on him while he was asleep. No, he can't let down his guard that easily, despite his ease of access to this guild. He continued to stare at the suitcase propped up next to the closest. He has unpacked his several changes of clothes and stuffed them in the closet, leaving only few items tucked away in the case. The case was locked and one would need a key to open it. A key, that Hunter always keeps on his person for safekeeping. His mind drifted back to his past as he closed his eyes, trying to remember pleasant memories.
Jindal stepped into the guild hall closed in shadows as normal when it happened. He got a odd chill in his spine before the guild door was violently thrown open. He put both his hands up out of instinct and wondered where that idea had come from. He then looked at the door and saw a group of council enforcers standing there holding a paper. "Jindal the black dragon you're hereby under arrest for crimes against the council and the destruction of a building in this very town. The other charges are as follows:
48 counts of assassination.
77 counts of hiding evidence.
223 counts of using forbidden magic.
3 counts of murdering a council member.
1 count of joining a dark guild.
99 counts of theft.
221 counts of defacing public property.
800 counts of assault and battery.
3 counts of arson
And finally 2 counts of using the secret magic of death head cactus. Death head law a thousand executions."
Jindal stood up shocked and a large amount of gasps could be heard. He looked at them shocked then at everybody else before taking a deep breathe and sighing. "I don't remember any of that but I trust the council's judgement. I may or may not be guilty but I certainly won't add to the list of crimes." He said before turning to walk to them without putting up resistance. He was arrested quickly.
Jamboree looked stunned and almost tried to fight for Jindal but decided against it. "You guys are making a mistake! He's innocent." He stated before turning to go to his room on the second floor of the building.
Over the past few weeks Asa has opened up to the guild members bit by bit, she still rarely used her real voice. She had also come to rely upon Jindal. She'd grown very close to him and when the guards came in saying he had done all of this stuff, she knew they had to be wrong. She reached out and grabbed Jindal's sleeve as they were trying to take him away, looking up at him pleadingly.
"You get away from him girl. He's not someone we can let run around free." Asa looked at the man, hate in her eyes as she used her powers to write in shadows. "You let me run free..." The man's eyes widened and before he could say anything Asa dashed out the door, running down the streets. "I recognize those powers... GUARDS AFTER HER!"
The setting changes from Cait Shelter Guild hall to Fiore
For Hunter Briggs the past Five Weeks, since starting, have been relatively busy. Not taking much time to settling in, the first week he was amiss, away on a mission he took upon himself from the bulletin board. These were quite simple missions that didn't require a group of mages to undertake. The only reason it took Hunter a week to complete was because of traveling. This first mission he underwent was quite far from Cait Shelter on some distant part of Fiore. The first few days were arriving to a small village that seems to have had an minor nuisance of diminutive monsters causing mischief for the villagers. Hunter took care of the issue by scaring them away. He then returned with some Jewel.
The next following weeks was filled with more jobs, another on his own which again took a week to complete, most of it based on travel. Yet one job was completed with the help of two other mages from the guild. He was approached one day by Mimi Tronoux, she asked if he would join her and her normal partner, Xiros Farfetcher, on a particularly difficult job. It would have been difficult for Hunter to agree to such a team up. The reason he was taking jobs alone was to in fact protect himself. He could cut loose and use his Chaos Magic without fear of the repercussions if certain mages caught sight of his taboo technique. Yet, he has done the whole, lone wolf routine before and with mixed results. More time than naught, he was still caught and expelled. He supposes being alone all the time was too suspicious for most. So he at times, teamed up with guildmates in order to redirect suspicions off himself. Yet that too has met with mixed results.
Depending on the jobs and other, unforseen, consequences, Hunter has been forced to use his full power in order to survive. Despite accomplishing the Guild's goals, he revealed himself before members of the Guild. And of course expulsion has followed. He has traveled very far and across many lands in order to find a place where he has yet to be recognized. Fiore was a nice place, far out west, and here no one knows of him and his many expulsions. Still if he is to have success he must be smart and find pleasant balances between being alone and keeping up appearances. So, refusing Mimi would be too alarming he fears. Hunter agreed, despite him knowing that he would have the fight at half power. He used only his Holy Magic during the quest and therefor it took longer than it would have if he could use his darker powers. He could have used Darkness Magic instead, but, many Mages fear that dark art and think it purely evil. Holy Magic is seen much more favorably.
After he returned, it seemed Mimi and Xiros, who were quite uncertain of him at first, returned with praise for his help and skills. This in turned helped to place Hunter in a brighter light for the new recruit. Making his fellow Guildmates to feel not so uneasy about him. Except now, if he were to be asked to go on a mission he will have to confine himself to only Holy Magic. Its what they all will expect of him now. Frustrating indeed, but a necessary risk. After he returned from the previous mission he took the time to actually get some rest. Something he hasn't truly done for quite awhile now. It was on the day when madness seemed to have broken out in the guild that he was prepared to leave on a new job.
He was in the Guild Hall when the Enforcers entered the scene. "What!? How did they find me so quickly!? I never revealed my true power to anyone here!" Hunter thought to himself. "No! I can't leave, not now, I just arrived!" He began to panic. That was until the Enforcers asked for Jindal. "Jindal?" Hunter thought as he looked towards the boy in black. Despite his being there, he hadn't met with all of the Guild members, nor talked to them for any long period of time. The most interactions hes had with are with Mimi, Xiros, Jamboree, and Jin. The others were either too afraid to speak with him, or he simply avoided most interactions. He didn't know much about this Jindal, he was quite the mystery to him. Yet, everyone he did speak with, thought highly of the boy. Their picture of him surely did not match the one the Council was painting. Hunter couldn't help but think it hard to believe that Jindal was that dangerous.
He worried for Jamboree, he seemed brash enough to attack the Enforcers, but luckily he didn't. It would seem Jindal would go quietly, furthering everyone else's point and even rousing Hunter to feel outraged. It was then that Asa interfered with the situation making that much more worse. She revealed her abilities and they turned to chase after her. "NO! That foolish girl! Why would she reveal herself in such a way!? It was pointless!" He thought angrily to himself. He was wondering what should he do? If he were to interfere he would most surely reveal his powers too, and then he would be hauled off to the council as well! Curses! He felt so incapable, so helpless, as his guildmates were being arrested for no good reason! It was an outrage, but if he is to help them, then he must not get involved. He will do them no good if he was detained as well. He just hoped Asa would escape them. As for Jindal...well, he was beginning to wish they had a Guild Master for times like these.

Asa dashed down the streets, dodging pedestrians as the guards charged after her. She wrote in the air in big letters so they'd see. You think you can catch me now? She disappeared into a dark alleyway and when the guards entered it, though there was no escape route from the dark alley, she was gone. "Dammit!" The head guard proclaimed.

Maybe Phantom's character should chat with Silver's? Just so everybody's got something going on.
