Ser Rowan Clancy

Though they were no longer in the forest, they were as you say 'not out of the woods yet'. There was much more in store that they would have to deal with, now that the Kingdom of Praetor was involved. It was just like the Praetorians to take advantage of a situation, 'rescue' the thief who has been caused their enemy trouble, then use the thief to do their bidding or have consequences. Rowan was aware of their style. He hoped that it would not come to it, but should Praetor gain the upper hand, then he'd be forced to act straight away or Tal was in danger, as no doubt the capture of Frey would set off a chain of events, Rowan could see it and he was not a fan of the results.

Before them was one of the various towns on the way to Tal, unfortunately it was one that Frey had attacked, but it was the closest which is what they needed to get their injuries seen to and treated. Frey didn't seem to comment when he spoke about there being a chance for him to make amends, no doubt he did not believe such to be a possibility, "Well either way, let's just get this over with shall we? I wanna sleep" he commented. Being ready for whatever may happen, Rowan decided not to give him time to change his mind and instead headed towards the town where the guards of the wall would soon see them.

Frey was seen to be a public menace, but during this time and hearing him out, he wasn't so bad as he originally thought, not that he thought he was terribly bad if he successfully evaded him but he had certainly changed since their first meeting and it seemed he wasn't so driven to die either which was a good sign. Not only that, but it seemed that since the attack, Frey had been assisting him by keeping him alert with his constant talking and even offered food to him incase he was hungry, so it seemed Frey was co-operating afterall which is why he was not so happy with the bind he now had but it was the only way, a prisoner and knight being 'chums' was not what they wanted to see.

"State your business!", bellowed one of the guardsmen who no doubt was their captain to take the lead in such affairs as his eyes and the eyes of his guards looked at Frey. "I have urgent business to speak to your Governor about if you will allow me entrance. My authority belongs to the King himself", as Rowan unsheathed his sword and revealed the engravings which were uniquely made for the Knights of Tal so it was clear who they were. Without the ability nor guts to contend with the King, they were allowed entrance, followed by a guard that escorted them through the streets. Rowan's concern was with Frey however who remained on his leash so that all Frey could do was follow until they reached the Governor's residence. The guard informed the Governor's guard of what Rowan had said outside, who then went inside to inform the Governor, until the two of them, escorted, could enter in.

"I have been told you have urgent business to see me for Ser Knight, so I do hope it is urgent to bring a thief into my town". Now it would begun as Rowan raised his arm and pulled infront of him as a motion of respect, followed by a bow, clearly his wound now on show, "It would be unjust of me to do so if it was not. As far as the thief goes, he is my prisoner, for me to take to the King himself where he will be judged and most likely facing a harsh punishment, whether that would be the loss of a limb or loss of his life, one cannot say, but until judgement is made, this thief has the Kings' protection, and while on the subject of the King, I would like to send a messenger to give him an urgent report. I believe that it would not go amiss that you will be rewarded for your deeds in doing such, as well as giving medical attention to myself and the prisoner since the King wants him alive, which will also require guards on duty also", putting forward his plea but in a monotonous tone, much like the way Rowan had spoke at the start.

The Governor listened, only to have the guard speak up, "You expect us to treat a thief as a guest?!", causing Rowan to glare at him, "I expect you to do your duty, to do your Governor honor and provide dutiful service to the Kingdom of Tal and the King himself. Fail to do so does have its consequences but fortunately for you, the respectable Governor is here who has the final decision. Besides, the quicker myself and my prisoner are treated, the quicker you can return to your business", before turning to the Governor, "Very well Ser Knight. You and your prisoner may remain here in my abode and have the protection of my personal guard as well as my personal physician to see to your wound and the wound of your prisoner. Rest assured that our duty shall be performed", giving a nod to his servant who then left the room and ending his action with turning to the captain of the guard, "There is reward for you also Gauron so keep that in mind. As the Knight has suffered injuries, then we must be alert so double the patrol". Gauron bowed to the Governor and then to Rowan before taking his leave.

As Gauron made his exit, another man stepped in with the servant behind him, "If you will follow me Ser Knight, I shall deal with your wound", walking away from the Governor with Frey in toe as they entered one of the backrooms which clearly was a room used for treatment as two beds had been prepared as the Doctor motioned for Rowan to be on one while Frey took the other. The good news was that they wasn't splitting him and Frey up so Rowan could keep an eye on him as well as make sure that Frey keeps his cool. "I must commend you on your work. I'll just go fetch my equipment so I can clean the wounds and stitch up", as he then left the room so that it was only Rowan and Frey, the beds not so far apart due to the bind between them. "I believe my plan worked better than yours", he said to lighten the mood....

Frey followed closely behind Ser Clancy. He wasn't focusing on where they were going, he was just trying to keep walking. Without the knight's aid, things got more difficult. So it wasn't until he heard the guard's shout that his nerves started to kick in. Ser Clancy said something back and unsheathed his sword. Frey didn't know what the purpose was, but it seemed to work, as they were let in. A guard escorted them through the streets.

Frey could see the looks of hate and murderous intent on every face they passed. Except for two, and those two made it worth it. Two orphans, a little boy and his younger sister were smiling at him. They were the ones he had given the food to and they were obviously grateful for it. With just a little bit of food he had given them more time to live and hopefully to survive. They waved at him, and he smiled back at them, unable to wave because of the bindings.

By the time they arrived at the Governor's residence, Frey had gone from nervous to frightened. It was clear from the looks he had gotten that these people weren't as nice as Ser Clancy was, he had no idea what was going to happen to himself. Finally the two were escorted inside and the Governor spoke to them. "I have been told you have urgent business to see me for Ser Knight, so I do hope it is urgent to bring a thief into my town"

As the conversation between Ser Clancy, the Governor, and one of the guards continued, Frey had no choice but to remain silent. He let out a relieved breath as the Governor agreed to let them rest there. "Very well Ser Knight. You and your prisoner may remain here in my abode and have the protection of my personal guard as well as my personal physician to see to your wound and the wound of your prisoner. Rest assured that our duty shall be performed"

The guard, who's name turned out to be Gauron, left and another man entered. "If you will follow me Ser Knight, I shall deal with your wound" Once again Frey had no choice but to follow Ser Clancy and the man. He noticed how the man only said he would treat Ser Clancy's wound. The thief and the knight were led to a room with two beds, the beds were rather close together since Frey was still bound to the knight. When motioned to Frey sank gratefully onto one of the beds while Ser Clancy did the same. "I must commend you on your work. I'll just go fetch my equipment so I can clean the wounds and stitch up"

By the time the doctor left Frey was close to full blown panic. The small room, plus being bound reminded him to much of the stories about being locked in a cell. He forced himself to take deep breaths to keep from hyperventilating. "I believe my plan worked better than yours" Frey had to disagree, he wouldn't have been quite this panicked if they hadn't known he was a thief. "I suppose." He tried, unsuccessfully, to keep the panic from showing through his voice. His mind was not up to arguing with the knight right now, so he simply agreed with him.

For the first time since he got the injury, he wondered if his leg would heal completely or if he'd be stuck with a permanent limp. He really hoped that wasn't the case, since he wouldn't he able to do some of them stunts he did now. It was funny how the first time he could take a moment to think about things like that was while he was basically imprisoned. His attempted at keeping his mind of the panic turned out to be unsuccessful, as it just made it worse in the long run.

Ser Rowan Clancy

Rowan couldn't help but give a smile to Frey's response, "I suppose", which wasn't confident at all. No doubt all this was intimidating to him, which was clear to him by his deep breathing that he could hear as he laid on his bed, as well as the sound of his voice. Putting himself in Frey's shoes, he could see why he would be panicked, though he would feel more at ease if there was a Knight who was vowed to defend him no matter what came, regardless of who he was. Frey not just had a Knight, but had one of the finest Knights in Tal. Wishing to reassure him, Rowan's hand reached to hold Frey's arm in order to let Frey know that he was there, hopefully such would calm him down.

"You don't sound confident, but trust me, disguising ourselves as a couple would not of worked, especially if we wanted treatment", he pointed out, for it did not matter if Frey could pull off being a woman, but it was more for closer inspection where it would be clear that Frey was not who he appeared to me, making his case a whole lot harder. Right now Frey had his protection, such that he had made clear in the Governor's presence, as well as making clear that he was under the authority of the King which meant that if anything did not go to Rowan's liking, they would not only be facing Rowan but facing the King also, as to go against the King was treason, such that went against the state so the Governor and all in the town must be weary of that.

There were holes in Frey's plan, but now they were both to be treated, both guarded and dwelt in the Governor's Palace which w the luxorious abode that they could get in this town, they were certainly priviledged. "Now, man up. You have nothing to worry about, and if you are thinking that there are those who wish to take action against you, remember that you are with me. It is them that should be in fear if they decide to take action, not you", before letting go of his arm and letting Frey think about what he had said. All the time he acted so tough and now he appeared weak, though once their wounds were healed up, they could be on their way again.

It was not long before the Doctor returned with a nurse with him. "Now, I shall deal with your prisoners' wound Ser Knight. My assistant here is very capable of dealing with yours. Any problems?". Such sounded reasonable to him, "That sounds fine Doctor", knowing that each Doctor swears an Hippocratic Oath where they aid the injurd no matter who they are, Rowan can watch what the Doctor does anyway to make sure that all was perfectly fine, as well as show Frey that he was watching out for him, the corner of his eye watching the door also. Rowan was taught to be fully aware of his surroundings which was exactly what he intended to do, as the nurse untied his cloth, "This will sting Ser Knight", she warned him as a fresh cloth covered in a thin layer of oil was pressed against his wound. "This Calendula?", Rowan asked, which the nurse nodded to, "You know your medicine well". Calendula after all was quite the agent to use to seal wounds before wounds were cleaned and stitched up, a similar process taking place with the Doctor and Frey.
