Lio is pretty shy around people he doesn't know too well - alright, he's shy around everyone. He does not think highly of himself and will put himself down or just not expect good things to happen to him - like love, for instance. He tends to stay away from others if at all possible; this is so that he doesn't have to live up to any expectations or deal with people who probably - and most likely - don't like him in the first place. In school, he is the loner in the back of the classroom. He practices piano in the music room of his school when he thinks that no one else is around to hear him. His biggest fear is failing at something or disappointing his parents and letting them down - which they tell him he does everyday. He is quiet and doesn't talk often, usually opting to read a book instead. He admires those with confidence.
Brief Background
Lio grew up in a not-so-great family. His father and mother are alcoholics. When his father drinks, he becomes abusive and will beat Lio, calling him worthless and useless. His mother will watch and won't do a thing about it, saying that he deserves it. When they aren't drunk, they are bearable but still insult him - this is the root of his self-confidence issues. His parents don't know that he is gay, as he knows that he will just disappoint them even further if they ever find out. He tries to stay away from his house as long as possible after school gets outs.
