Appearance:
Due to her Native American ancestry, Jo sports a mocha skin color that is marred with the lighter color of numerous scars found on her body. She stands at five feet and nine inches tall, weighing in at one hundred and twenty-five pounds of lean muscle. She has an athletic frame, with little emphasis placed on her hips or bust by her genes. If she exposes her midriff, one will find that she is surprisingly toned for the habits that she portrays and those that she fails to. If one was to, however, spend some quality time at the bar with Jo, one would find that she keeps in shape through and for one particular reason -- she fights for bets. Jo has coarse, black hair that falls nearly perfectly straight -- it is cut short (about an inch and a half in length) and stands on end with little prompting. She has relatively full lips, almost always set into a confident and playful smirk, that slightly contrasts with her sharp facial features. She has high cheek bones and ever-so-slightly slanted, dark hazel eyes, again pointing to her Cherokee roots.
Jo has partially hidden the scars of her past with full sleeve tattoos (imagined with slightly thinner lines) on each arm, done with eerily luminescent blue ink. She also possesses nine piercings, each which is fully visible. She has four piercings on her left ear, three up the side and the last at the top of her ear. Her right ear has three piercings, mimicking the three up the side of her left ear. She has her right eyebrow pierced, exactly in the same spot as a scar through her left eyebrow. If asked, she will explain that the piercing used to be in the other eyebrow, but during a fight it was ripped out -- leaving a scar -- and she chose to pierce the other eyebrow. The last piercing is the left side of her nose.
For clothing, she wears black cargo pants that are held in place by a studded belt and gauze wrapped around her right thigh and left calf. Her black combat boots are tied over the top of her cargo pants and the laces are delicately tucked into the top, surprisingly orderly considering her pastime. She wears a white, "wife-beater" styled tank-top that is thin enough to show the bandaging she has used to bind her chest. She also utilizes fingerless, leather gloves and a fitted, yet worn, leather jacket.

THE GOOD AND THE BAD:
Jo is an interesting and unique combination of good and bad, depending on the situation. She is harsh and rough, but surprisingly seductive. She is a heavy drinker, which only seems to add to her charm -- making her less grouchy and a little less impatient. She's extremely sexual, everything is an innuendo to her and she'll make sure you know that nearly everything she says is an invitation. She is overly confident and can be annoyingly cocky; stemming from her ability as a hand-to-hand fighter. She, regardless of what she may say, has not, does not, and will never care what you say -- she is out for herself in every aspect of her life, from pleasure to gain -- your opinion hardly matters. Chances are, if she speaks to you. she finds you attractive and will, no matter how clear you make your disinterest, attempt to coax you into bed with her. One can tell, after accepting her invitation, that she treats sex as an outlet for her frustration and pent up emotions -- similar to how she uses fist fights. She invests no emotion into her sexual life and one may be able to connect her increasing respect and care to decreasing sexual advances.
She is unbelievably stubborn, always fighting to get her way in the situation. If a situation will not benefit or harm her in some way, there is little chance that she will be involved at all. When irritated, she will resort to physical violence almost immediately, unless it presents harm to her being. Jo prefers to be up-close and personal when it comes to violence, trained in unarmed combat through the years of experience in utilizing it. She has a soft spot for children, especially those with neglectful or absent parents, and for abused women.

HISTORY:
Jo was born in a small settlement, a measly population of fifty that hardly warranted attention. Her mother was a prostitute and chem addict, her step-father was sexually and physically abusive -- Jo still has the cigarette burns and emotional scars she received for each night alone with him. All good things must come to an end, however, and when she was only eight years old her encampment was targeted and systematically destroyed by a raider group. She and the other children (ages ranging from four and five to twenty five and six) while the men, the "defects", and those deemed “too young” were killed before them. Children, almost all boys, deemed capable or skilled were corralled off from the rest, used for a different purpose than the young women that had been capture -- doomed to a life of abuse and rape. Perhaps it was her androgynous build or her fierceness to fight back, but she was placed in the “barracks” with the young men and boys. The children were neglected, deprived of food for days on end -- Jo had lost track, due to the windowless room she had been placed in, of the time that had passed. She was constantly reminded of her situation, however, by the screams and pleas from rooms down the hall and the sadistic laughter of the raiders that had taken them.

One day, the door opened and they were ushered into a cleared out room. Furniture had been pushed along the walls, creating a makeshift ring that could hold an audience. An announcement was made that food would be provided to the five children left standing, that they would be accepted into the ranks of the raiders and would be provided for from then on, assuming that they did the work required. Weapons lay strewn about the room, but the children were blinded by the sudden introduction of light and some tripped over them as they were pushed into the ring. The children must have stood there, Jo with them, for ten minutes, adjusting to the light and taking in the large group of people surrounding them, before a glass bottle came crashing into the circle, striking a child in the head before shattering across the ground. A second bottle, sadistic laughter, and then a gunshot; suddenly, one of the older boys in the group picked up a baseball bat from the ground and swung it -- cracking the skull of a child that Jo had once considered a friend. The young boy's body fell to the ground in slow motion, Jo losing her breath as the blood began to pool around his head. Hooting and hollering broke the spell that had been holding her in place; she dropped to the floor and retrieved a rusted crowbar. Upon pulling herself to her feet, she gunned for the older boy.

The piercing edge of the crowbar brought him to attention and he swung out wildly as pain blinded him, blood soaking through his shirt around his left shoulder, though he sufficiently floored her with a hit to the side of the head. Dizzy from the blow, Jo stumbled backwards and somehow, she couldn't tell you how to this day, survived the bloody massacre of children by children -- family and friends from her hometown. She was given food, she was praised, she was promised protection and a family. It was a few years later (when Jo was 17) when the raiders' promises were suddenly revoked. She was attacked in the hallway by six men, dragged from the warehouse she had started to call home and taken to a wooden shack. There, she endured pain that no one, man or woman, should experience. It was six days later that she finally broke.

In the beginning, it was a “group activity”, her pain and her body; however, it had been days and the men wanted some privacy. They began taking turns, as opposed to all of them shuffling into the crapped space to cheer each other on and, sometimes, participate themselves. As her most recent “patron” left her, satisfied, she retrieved a long, jagged piece of glass from the floor, discarded during a particularly brutal session. She held it in her hand, against her arm, and waited for the next man to walk in. Normally, they ordered her into a particular position or to retrieve a device from the far wall that they would use during their “session”; this time, Jo refused to respond to his requests. When he drew close, to “punish her for her disobedience”, she swung the glass up and out, catching his throat and splitting it open. A brilliant red seeped down his clothing as he clutched at the gaping wound and Jo was splattered with, for the first time since the battle royal in the very beginning, blood that was not her own.

One of the men standing outside, who had heard the gurgling of the dead man but didn't quite know how to interpret it, knocked on the door – which was all it took to send Jo into an adrenaline-fed frenzy. She lured the man in with two simple words, “He's dead” – in his fury, he was left exposed and the young woman tackled him from the side. She stabbed him, numerous times, about the chest and neck until she was sure he wasn't getting back up. A third man had heard the commotion and came running – Jo refuses to acknowledge the fact, but she would have been killed if the final man hadn't been out back taking a piss and arrived any sooner than he did. He was unarmed, but seemed to think he could diffuse the situation. She modified her expression to respond, painting herself as paralyzed with fear, to coax the man in. When he reached for the glass in her hands, muttering phrases like “You could never kill me” and “You were lucky it was me that found you and not someone else”, she dove forward to plunge the glass into the man's chest. He was stunned, sinking to the floor as her feared expression morphed into a cruel, sadistic, and pleased one – reminiscent of how all those men looked at her.

She left soon after her attack on the men, seeking treatment for her wounds and turning to alcohol once arriving in a city to numb the pain and the confusion that stemmed from her experiences. She spent the next few years in a drunken stupor, abused by numerous individuals until she learned how to become the abuser. She turned to fighting and fucking, controlling the situations as she chose and using violence to remove herself from situations that she no longer wished to be in.
