Austin, the Capitol

Even though the population dropped significantly, there are still enough to call Austin a proud city (okay, more like a village). Those that managed to survive the nuclear debris have rebuilt the city and call the main skyscraper home. Lower buildings, such as the city hall and the library, are also still in use. These buildings serve as places for work, training, and survivor searching. The library has been converted to the Texan Federal Government Radio (AM 1700 TFGR). The city hall still remains as a legislative place for the folks in office.

Although Austin seems safe, there is rumor that the Pandora vaults run underground the main skyscraper. Should something happen, say an explosion, the fallout would be enough to level everything in the surrounding area. To put it bluntly, Austin would be lost.

A bit away from the skyscraper and government figures is the Enclave Red Ops (ERO). The Enclave is a "secretive political and military" organization. These guys are pretty much the kids of the pre-fallout US government. They're the guys who are actually running the show above ground. They know the truth behind the war and they're doing their best to keep it a secret.
