Introduction

Inspired by the Fallout series which is copyright of Bethesda.
The great Northwest is a far cry from its glory days. After the bombs hit many areas went through drastic change in too short an amount of time. Radiation is rampant and you can't trust your neighbors further than you can throw them. Everyone is out for themselves or their family. Super mutants and ghouls were once human and their genetic coding has caught the attention of one twisted scientist. She's gathering a team for...research purposes to further her studies in trying to cure Super Mutants and ghoulism. You can only pray that's all she hopes to accomplish.
Locations please note I have a basic map ready but am still working on it. I'd love for someone to make mini maps of each location after I've finished location descriptions. City maps courtesy of StrawberryFoxglove and Mr. Nice Guy

Carnation: Fertile farming community. In the west are two ranches whom are partners, the Simms and the Sinclairs. Between them is a dusty race track used to race stable livestock. Vegetables farms are in the east, an NCR post is in the south in town and a tree orchard is in the north. Rolling hills surround it as does sparse forest.
Eis: Very low human population, it's a super mutant and ghoul town primarily. Cozy Cabins lodging in the west, shops and businesses in the east, and a popular radio station in the north broadcasted by ghouls and intelligent super mutants called "Creep Show". Named due to it being a winter wonderland of sorts, snow encases the environment.
Erett: Known for its large bus station that goes all over Northwestern Washington, bus station located in the center of the city. Slums are in the east and uptown is in the north. Businesses and a crumbling mall are in the west. South end are the city ruins rampant with red light district workers.
New Chelan: Lake is dried up, vast wasteland now. Very small merchantile company that uses a delivery service. Main attraction is the Lake Bowl bar with entertainment and a gift shop for adults held in the west. An old carnival is in the south, homes are in the east. The postal service is in the north.
Port Townsend: A "family" orientated town. Mildly dangerous as people go missing once they enter after a time. Picture perfect place with washed homes in the west and businesses in the north. Town hall is in the center of town and often stuffed with nonsense daily. South is a district forbidden to those not born within city limits. In the east is a slaughterhouse where animals are carved for famous Port Pork meats.
Olympic Park: WIP
Sappho: A pacifist town. Various huts surround a temple in the middle. In the east is a theater of the arts, a market in the north, academy in the west and an arena in the south. Little is known about the citizens and culture of Sappho, though reports have been made Sappho is a white supremist culture.
Seattle: It almost always rains in the city. It's the largest and wealthiest to date with the space needle in the west serving as a giant building for the Hiroshima Labs corporation. Rich live in the north and poor in the south, east is Pike Place market with an astounding view of the harbor and a leveled collection of businesses of the largest variety.
Team: six players allowed

Items
Apothecary medicines are found only at clinics or on traveling doctors who always have mercenaries to protect them. Every building usually has a first aid kit handy. Greatly needed with wild creatures and hostile factions lingering.
Armor light, medium and heavy armory can be obtained. Light is better suited for frequent travelers, spies and raiders while medium armor is often found on military personnel. Heavy armor is often associated with raiders, the Legion and Great Khans and includes a metal suit.
Communication so far just radios and walkie-talkies. Although radios can also be used to listen to music.
Clothing most found is tattered and dirty from the unkempt environment overall. Feel free to stitch together whatever you need. Keep it in retrospect of the 50s.
Currency: bottle caps are currency, but some factions have varied currency. The NCR for example carry paper bills and Legion carries coins their blacksmiths make.
Domestic animals: canines, bighorn and brahmin are all the commonly domesticated beasts seen in possession by those with animal husbandry skills or enough fencing. Insects cannot be tamed but other various creatures may be with the right time and skill.
Drugs some medicines and plants have been converted into drugs. The term "chems" is a slang term for drugs.
Electronics robots, building intercoms, lighting, tracking devices, radio stations, radios, audio logs and computers are all working thus far. No cell phones have been invented after the nuclear war happened.
Food including alcohol, this is found scavenging the wild wasteland or can be purchased. Farmers often have crops but will protect them with everything they've got.
Housing/buildings many houses are boarded up and can be broken into with the proper muscle. Houses are usually run down with little electricity power but the plumbing works. Some choose the life of a nomad and simply camp under the starry, irradiated skies.
Transportation only military personnel or rich folk.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 7 authors

Jo had smiled at her. Danaya chewed on her lip as she mulled that over, adding in the new data she was being given now through Jo's blunt behavior. She seemed to -want- to fuck, which was an alien concept to the girl. Raised in a vault, she was taught that sex and emotion were linked, and important. To give it away so freely...Danaya didn't think she liked it, but she decided she'd think about it later, when she was alone. For now, she just kept watching, and listening, and filing things away. The rain outside tried to rinse the world of its unnatural filth, but this bus full pushed through it, the man-made machine oblivious to nature's desires.

Everyone seemed settled right then. No poking questions or nagging thoughts and he felt that was a good thing. His answer was good enough for Lucas and he left it at that. When Jo made a few scholarly remarks Tobias couldn't help but smirk. But the question was was this the real Jo or the tipsy-with-drink Jo? She could be fun both ways more than likely. When Lucas made an answer instead Tobias rose a brow. Was the lady not talking to him? Well no matter. "I think you'll be plenty busy without needing my company, sweetheart." he then walked to the front of the bus and took a nap for the rest of the ride, not answering about the whereabouts of his sleeping quarters.
The bus finally slowed after a time. Tobias was the first to rise and roused the group to get the moved out of the bumbling vehicle. Around them the city is active and noisy. Cars thundered in the road beside the bus with the group climbed off. Tobias rallied everyone to the courtyard of the Space Needle the site of Hiroshima Corp. Heavily guarded fencing surrounded them as they trailed into the base.
"Here on the ground floor is our lobby where we'll meet before each mission. A lounge room and the cafeteria, where we're all headed now, is also included." just as any structure the building is rather grim but since it's high class everything is much cleaner. Tobias led the group into the barren cafeteria. Lined with tables and fresh buffet tables no one else is inside. "You all have a half hour to eat and mingle. In that time I'll be checking in with head of security while I get some grub as well. Any questions, I'll be in that corner."
He pointed off before he waved over one of the mini service bots and ordered his favorite stew with bread. Tobias is a simple man when it comes to a full stomach. And he's much too lazy to wait in line and dish up his own. He settled in a cornered booth as a white woman in dark armoring approached him to join him and discuss what needed to be discussed between them. His eyes scan the others every once in awhile.

Jo's full smile turned into a pout as Tobias dismissed her question, though she quickly shrugged it off. "I'm sure you'll be able to find me if you change your mind." Her attention then rounded on the man who had previous called out, seated comfortably next to a smoking man, offering to leave his door unlocked. Due to the circumstances, she had been unsure whether or not he had been speaking to her or to Tobias -- with her interest in both men and women, she couldn't doubt the possibility of a man that also enjoyed the company of men. Her confident, albeit lopsided smirk, was quickly put back in place as she sat on her knees, facing the back of the bus. "Who, exactly, is it you're making your offer to, hm?"
She would await an answer rather patiently, offering her drink to any who asked it of her, and would continue with her playful banter. Upon arrival to the Space Needle, Jo took her sweet time admiring her surroundings. Most of her time in larger cities were spent in bars, so this was her first time really seeing the rich, business side of a city as large as this. She followed along, however, tailing anyone that seemed interested enough in her. She normally hunted, finding those she thought interesting and pursuing them until she achieved her goals or earned a black eye -- this crowd, however... well, it was too hard to choose. Once inside the compound, Jo half-listened to Tobias explain the area. As soon as he seemed to dismiss them, Jo gunned for the food. She didn't eat very much, but she ate often -- after having not eaten for around a day, she had filled a plate with whatever had been offered and retreated to an empty seat to enjoy her food. Her whiskey bottle was present beside her as she began to eat and she did not seek company. If anyone were interested in approaching her, she figured that they would. Jo HAD considered tracking Tobias to his table and insisting that he at least give her an area to search for his quarters (she was extremely persistent), but if he wanted to play hard-to-get, well, she could play, too.
Elena turned in her seat as Will answered her question, partially shocked that it hadn't been a simple shrug or perhaps a half-assed, "Idunno". Her turn also served as a physical guard against the conversation going on behind the two; something she made clear she was disinterested in. His answer gave serious insight to who, exactly, he portrayed himself to be and it made her smile. "Me?" She hummed, biting at her bottom lip as her nose crinkled. "You know... I'm not one hundred percent sure... I think I'm trying to find my brothers, to be honest, and I want to be useful. I can only do so much in some mechanic's shop." She grinned, head tilting to one side. "So, what's your favorite color?"
She would drag Will through her list of questions, answering them each in turn. Her favorite color was purple, her favorite foods were fruits, her favorite sweets were hard, caramel candies, she hated alcohol, chems made her squirm, she didn't like heights and blood made her queasy, she made most of her own clothes, she loved fixing things and adored children, she grew up in a small settlement where she learned her trade, and she thought most domesticated animals were fantastic. The information seemed superfluous, but each tidbit would be stored away in Elena's brain for future use -- whether it be to impress though memory or to make inferences.
When they arrived at their destination, Elena stuck relatively close to Will -- he seemed like the good sort of people, honest and generally trustworthy. He wasn't like the others that made themselves so comfortable on the bus, they were loud and relatively obnoxious. She had to acknowledge a few individuals, the dark-skinned woman not too many seats away from her and Will along with the late-comer that sat so uneasily at the front of the bus, considering them to be of slightly higher caliber than the individuals she had been forced to listen to for a majority of the bus ride. She listened attentively, glancing over the area as Tobias spoke of it. She would either follow Will to the food and make her own plate along side of him or would branch off to get a plate and then track him back to the table he chose to sit at. Elena had pretty much latched onto the poor fellow -- she was comfortable around him more than the others and, as such, would attempt to spend as much time with him as possible. Elena wasn't rude (unless she was treated in a particular fashion or found something particularly disagreeable about an individual), however, and if approached she would respond in kind -- Will had simply become her anchor, even if he didn't want to be.

Once Tobias seemed to dismiss them to eat for thirty minutes he moved off towards the food, though not as quickly as Jo had seem to wanna eat, dishing out what looked appealing to him and taking a seat near Jo, just because it seemed better to talk to someone and get to know them, he'd work on getting to know everyone, but right now Jo had caught most of his interest. "Sooo, I'm guessing your sexual advances weren't why you were hired right?" He asked with a chuckle meaning to just try and break the ice the best he could. He played a bit with the food he had gathered for himself, as he let his eyes linger around the room; this wasn't the first time being around business-like people and buildings, but this was his first time anywhere near Seattle. It was odd to be honest, he had no memory of this city, even from as much as he traveled. His eyes couldn't help but look for Hunter, Hunter was always nearby; it was odd having his own raider, but then again it was quite interesting too, cause as much as they fought, they usually always ended up in the same bed. He chuckled at a few memories of their travels together before his eyes returned to Jo, awaiting her reply.

So it went for the rest of the bus ride. She would drive the conversation, which he was thankful for because if it were up to him they would be staring out the window. Question after question he of course answered with short clipped responses, grumbles and grunts but he had to admit, it wasn’t so bad. He told her he liked to eat iguana bits, enjoyed most children, he mentioned dogs and cats were nice when the topic of animals came up, his favorite sweets were butterscotch candies, reading was a favorite downtime activity, he also didn’t like alcohol or chems and when she brought fears up he merely grumbled incoherently through his answer until she asked a new question.
Finally they arrived and were shown about quickly, given some time to eat before they started anything. It was a relief to be out of the close quarters of the vehicle, not that he didn’t enjoy Elena’s company to a point but with his passing thoughts of her earlier he felt as though he were doing her a favor by attempting to give her space from now on by keeping to himself. She, however, seemed to have other ideas as she trailed after him. He ignored this at first, his eyes scanning the others as they moved about and he attempted to meet again with Karen. Will wanted to keep a fairly close eye on her while they were here but hopefully she would come to him. So, he resigned himself to gather a rather large plate of food, not being a small man he tended to burn a lot of calories and eat double to make up for it. He could only imagine how much the large man who had tilted the bus with his weight ate. Thumping over to a table in the corner, he sat down, noting that his new shadow sat down with him as he began to eat quietly. Attempting to avoid looking at Elena’s pretty face, his eyes scanned over the cafeteria for Karen.

The squeak of the air brakes startled her, and she looked quickly out the front window, ready to fight whatever had caused...that... She gulped and glanced towards the back of the bus, hoping no one had noticed. She realized they must be getting closer, and so she pulled Daddy to the edge of the seat, made sure her pack and her things were secure, and prepared to leave the bus. She wanted to be first off the bus; That many people, that many -men- having a chance to touch her when they walked by? She shuddered.
The moment the door opened, she was already activating the robot's hovering and following protocols and heading down the steps. She waited off to the side for Tobias to step down, and once he headed inside, so did she. Her green eyes widened once they stepped inside. She'd never seen such a large room completely cleared of rubble and actually -cleaned-. Nor had she seen so many people moving about, setting up the final touches of the buffet spread before them. The smells assailed her nostrils, almost like the cartoons she remembered from her days in the vault, and she pictures fingers pulling her closer by the nostrils. She was only too happy to move closer to the food as others started piling in.
The second her new second-in-command stopped talking, she grabbed a plate and as many warm or cooked things as she could. Roasted Mantis Legs, Brahmin Steak, and...A wasteland omelet? Seriously? She almost scooped the entire thing onto her plate, but decided to only take a large third before scurrying off into her own corner and sitting with her back to it, so she could watch everyone with minimal effort. The Mantis Leg she stripped quickly but carefully of its hard carapace, which she could surely find a use for later, and the steak she cut into bite size pieces before she actually took a bite of anything. Then slowly, savoring the food with every part of her, she enjoyed the food like she rarely had before. Every part of her, save her eyes, which were too busy watching the others to allow for more than the occasional glance. She felt like a wolf gnawing on a bone. She hoped she looked like it, too.

@Cypher. Not much yet. Beltu's been gone since June 22nd, so I'm making an offshoot. It may be temporary, or it may be permanent.

StrawberryFoxglove wrote:I didn't know we were going to immediately accept others into the RP. If I misunderstood, I apologize, but I think that there should be a greater disconnect between our off-shoot and Beltu's RP if we are going to accept outside characters. If Beltu comes back, I mean, we'd end up coming back over here and it would leave the two new individuals in the dust, you know? It just seems conflicting.
>.>;;;
EDIT: I had been thinking that we might need to accept a character or maybe two to fill the slots if everyone in the original wasn't going to join, but if everyone decides to switch over then accepting extra characters could knock the original members out of the team. As I said, adjusting the size of the team just doesn't feel right, considering Beltu had put such a strict limit on it.
Well if he does come back I could simple put up my application here again, like I did last time.
I can agree that accepting new characters can feel wrong, but on the other hand isn't it better to have more people than less seeing as every character brings more conflict, more quality and more fun/dangerous/interesting situations to a RP.
Just my two cents.

It's up. I hope to see all of you guys over there. And then we get to figure out what we're gonna do first, as a group, unless you want me to run it. Since my last RP fizzed out, I'm pretty free to do so.
Under The Belt, I give all credit to you for this particular piece of the world. Any edits I made were for flow.
If you guys see any issues with it, spelling, grammar, etc. please let me know.

Hey, Soki! Have you seen Fammi around? I haven't heard from her in a while. :(
Re: [OOC] Fallout: Seattle
I'm sad to see this one go, however, if it is doomed to such a fate as that. :(
Re: [OOC] Fallout: Seattle
A few more is better methinks.
