Ayala

"I'm sorry, Sepiroth... I try to, but sometimes I just can't fight her..."

a character in “Fantasim Land”, originally authored by Gladis, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Image

Ayala has long, wavy blonde hair which reaches to about her waist, it is usually rather messy as she not often has the time nor interest to brush it, but when she does it is softer than silk. Her eyes are icy blue and her features rather soft. She is rather tall, although not too, and she's normal weight, but very slender looking. Her skin is pale and somewhat scarred. She looks about seventeen... and she used to have a pair of black wings, but they are now gone. Two scars are on her back to mark where they'd once been.

Personality

Ayala has always been a rather quiet and obedient child, although only fully obedient to her older brother, Sepiroth. She adores him with all her heart still, as he was the one to practically raise her. However, already since she was little she would sometimes have rage outbursts where she would see nothing but red, or even psychopathic, sadistic moments. That was when her demonic side shows. Usually she is her angelic version, though. She is not as quiet and shy any longer, although she still sometimes tends to be so, and she can stand up for herself... unless it's Spurio doing anything bad to her.

History

Ayala and her twin, Aya, were practically raised by their brother, Sepiroth. When Ayala was only an infant her father wanted to kill her, but Sepiroth managed to save the two of them. She always looked up to Sepiroth a lot and she always felt like it was her duty to be forever loyal to him. However, things started getting complicated for her when she began having love and hate feelings for her older brother, although she kept them for herself. Then, one day she caught Rapheal on a bad day. He tortured her and cut her wings off. Ayala vowed she would get her revenge on him! And now she has come to take it...

So begins...

(Okay! :3 Awesome! ^_^)

Ayala watched as Rahael shut the door behind him. She smiled darkly from the shadows and as soon as she noticed the son of the monster who'd tortured her was out of the inn, she stepped out from her hiding and walked over to the bed, sitting down beside Rapheal, a dangerous smirk on her lips. "Quite handsome, your son, isn't he?" she said with a soft chuckle as she eyed him carefully, "possibly I should cut his wings off at some point, hmm?" her smirk twisted into a wicked, almost crazed smile, "what you did to me was unforgivable!"

Ayala leaned closer over him, raising an eyebrow as pure hatred and distaste for Rapheal flashed through her icy cold eyes. "I would watch my mouth, Rapheal... for I have indeed something in mind for you," she murmured softly, her voice as cold as her gaze as she sat down on top of him, locking his body between her legs and taking a tight grip of his shirt. "And why shouldn't I? You took something I held dear from me, why shouldn't I do the same to you, Rapheal Nox..." she spat out his name as if it was a curse word.

Ayala raised an eyebrow at him, tightening her grip of his shirt slightly with one hand before letting go of the other and locking it around his throat. "He wasn't the one who thought me things like this, so don't blame my brother," she said softly, starting to squeeze his throat slightly as her smile widened and her cold eyes started burning with a certain hunger for revenge, "I was repeatedly assaulted and... abused... by Sepiroth's dear friend and greatest enemy as a child, and his father," she murmured and tilted her head to the side, sliding her pale, long, finger under Rapheal's throat and tilting his head back slightly so that he had it in a uncomfortable position, "things like that can drive an eight to fifteen year old insane; guess why I was sent to an asylum at that age?"

Ayala tightened her grip of his throat, her wicked smile widening slightly as a soft chuckle escaped her pink lips. "You really are an idiot, Rapheal," she purred darkly, leaning down even closer over him. At his next question she frowned, letting go of his throat and sitting back up. Ayala shrugged her thin shoulders, watching him cautiously. "I don't know," she said coldly after a while, "I have a feeling it wouldn't be that positive, but I'm not sure... It's not like he's fully innocent himself, hmm? Rain? Angel? Besides, I'm fully justified in my actions! You should have thought twice before messing with me!" she snapped and slapped him hard across his cheek twice, then dug her sharp nails into where she'd slapped him, starting to scratch three bloody wounds open. She smiled slightly as she felt his cold blood against her pale skin as she scratched, slowly and painfully. This all was her demonic side speaking and acting, her nice and obedient angelic side would never have even considered harming him, although he'd obviously harmed her.

Ayala chuckled softly as she continued a little while longer, leaning even closer to him so that her face was only inches away from his. Then she removed her now bloody hand and rested it on his chest. She looked at him with a expression that almost made it seem like she pittied him, although he ought to know better. "Does it hurt?" She asked in a soft whisper, "do you wish me to stop?" Her voice was soft and soothing, calming, but the glint in her eyes was like burning venom. She carefully, gently began tugging his shirt open, a slight malicious smile twitching on her pale lips. A smile that one day her daughter would inherit...

Ayala continued opening it up, slowly starting to pull it off him. She shook her head slightly at his pleas, chuckling softly. "Don't worry, Rapheal... it'll be over soon. Why does it matter anyways? Your wife is dead, how long ago was it you got this kind of attention, hmm?" she murmured softly, fully pulling it off and then starting on his pants. "You should've thought twice before messing with me and my wings..." Ayala repeated, keeping her voice soft and smiling down at him as she gently traced circles on his pale chest. She leaned down and pressed her lips to his...

Ayala smiled evilly at his reaction and pulled back at the same time as she'd managed to open them fully and pull them down somewhat. She smiled and placed her hand on the cheek without cuts, chuckling softly in amusement. Then she undressed herself as good as she could without actually moving away from him. "Revenge will be sweet," she purred and something flashed in her pale hand; a knife. She plunged it into his side before...

Ayala paused and looked at Rapheal, getting fully dressed. She smiled slightly as he fainted, a soft chuckle escaping her lips as she tilted her head to the side. And finally she'd gotten her revenge! Suddenly she felt guilt wash over her. Why had she done this? Biting her lip she quickly turned around and walked over to the door, pushing it open and starting down the corridor, down the stairs and then out of the inn. What would Sepiroth think of her after Rapheal told him what she'd done? For she was sure Rapheal would do that, no matter how much she had humiliated him. She lowered her head as she began walking through the dark street, feeling a single tear trickle down her pale cheek. At least she would never feel she had to do anything like that against Rapheal again, as long as he didn't ever hurt her again, which she doubted he would.

(Sorry! >.< That was why I deleted it, but I didn't know you had seen it yet and you weren't meant to either... because I didn't realize until it was too late it would put pressure on you, again... sorry!)

Ayala continued to quickly walk, ignoring the rain and hoping to find somewhere to sleep overnight, as far away from the inn and Rapheal as possible. She bit her lip hard enough to draw blood and glanced around nervously, sighing softly to herself. There was nowhere she knew she could go, and she knew it was no good idea to walk the streets at night. Rapheal had to be really weak, for she wasn't strong at all and therefor an easy victim. "Hm, maybe I deserve being one right now," she muttered to herself, feeling the rain wash away her tears.

Rahael shrugged his shoulders and hesitated before nodding his head slightly. "I am an half angel with troublesome wings, this happens usually when I don't it to happen at all... they come out from my back and then retreat again. I have not yet learned how to control it," he admitted as his wings stretched slightly, "I am truly sorry for this... no one should be forced to wittiness it and..." Rahael paused again, "I understand if you think me to be strange or feel uncomfortable in my company," a somewhat sad, shameful smile flashed across his lips, "but may I still take you to the inn?"

Ayala frowned from where she watched the son of Rapheal, tilting her head the the side, her pale blue eyes glinting in the darkness very slightly. "Be glad you at least still have your wings, child..." she muttered darkly, stepping out from the shadows. It was ironic, for Ayala looked four years younger than Rahael, who had the appearance of a twenty-one year old. Yet in truth she was so much older. Well, not much, but a bit, at least... it all depends on what you see as old.

Cassandra gazed towards him, surprised.

"You've never had a dessert?" she asked him softly. That just about sealed it. She lifted her hands and clapped them together gently, and the two servants came quickly scurrying in. One took their plates and the other gave Cassandra a deep bow.

"Will you be wanting dessert, my Queen?" he asked.

"Most certainly," Cassandra replied.

"What would you like for dessert, my Queen?" asked the servant.

"You know my favourite," she answered, and the servant asked nothing more, simply bowed and retreated. Cassandra grinned towards Sepiroth. "You're going to love this," she told him.

Osirette was about to answer the handsome blond man when a girl stepped out of the shadows and spoke in a low voice. Osirette looked towards the blonde girl and frowned somewhat, but then returned her gaze to the man.

"Of course you may," she told him softly.

Rahael gave her a slight smile, then glared at Ayala. He looked back at the girl. "Then come with me," he said softly, starting to walk and deciding to simply ignore Sepiroth's sister. It wasn't his fault she had caught his father in a bad mood, after all. Who knew, she may as well would have had her wings cut off by his hands instead of his fathers, had Rapheal had a bad enough day. "And you better hurry to the inn," she added coldly, "I don't know how much longer he'll stay alive..." Rahael froze at her words, narrowing his eyes and glancing back at her. "Who?" he asked slowly, although he was already pretty sure who. His voice was low and dangerous at that moment. Ayala smiled at Rahael and shook her head slightly, twirling the bloody knife between her delicate, pale, fingers. "Your father..." she said softly before vanishing.

Cassandra let out a soft laugh, shaking her head lightly. Poor Sepiroth. He'd had a difficult life, and now he was excited about dessert.

"This won't make you fat unless you eat way too much of it," she told him softly. "I eat dessert every night, but I'm clearly not fat," she added with a soft little giggle, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

- - -

Osirette frowned, a little disgusted by this girl. She seemed totally crazy. And then she was gone, and Osirette blinked in surprised.

"If you want to go," she said to him softly, "you can. I can find the inn on my own, and crazy girl there kind of looked like she was threatening your father's life..." Osirette paused. Even with the neglect she'd suffered in her childhood, she'd gladly save her father's life over and over again. Even if she wasn't going to get any recognition from doing so, too...

Ayala stared at her reflection in the mirror, tilting her head slightly and narrowing her pale blue eyes. A sad, tormented expression had settled on it, showing exactly what she felt. She had teleported to Rahael to tell him to hurry up so that he could save his poor father, but her seemingly uncontrollable demonic side had made it come out in a very rude way. Ayala knew her demonic side rather well, as it had been around ever since that very first incident with Sataniel, the demon who'd started abusing her. And it became stronger with everything Sataniel's son, Zoroark had done to her... but what kind of made the water run over the edge of the glass had been the loss of her wings, the only thing marking her as an angel.

She sighed softly as she ran her fingers down her back, cringing slightly as she touched the new scars where her wings had once been. Her forehead was still creased into a frown and she still had no idea if she could ever look her older brother- and father figure- in the eyes again. Then again, he was one of the few who would probably understand her. She paused and blinked as she realized that. "I need to talk to him..." she mumbled to herself, running her delicate, pale, fingers through her long but somewhat messy, wavy blond hair. She sunk down to her knees and put her hands to her face, bursting into tears. She defiantly needed to talk to Sepiroth.

After a while Ayala stood up, wiping her eyes and walking over to the bed she had hired. She sat down on it, staring at her hands and trying to make out her thoughts. They were such a tangle. After another moment of thinking back to what had happened not so long ago she started sobbing softly again, feeling destroyed. She curled up on the bed, hugging her knees tightly to her chest and wanting to just... rot away, just that everyone would forget about her forever and she could be alone in her despair... or... did she really want to be alone? Part of her was yearning for company and comfort. Although, where could she go? Nowhere, she could go to no one. Yes, Sepiroth she could go to... but... he was so happy right then. She had watched him briefly through her mirror and she didn't want to interrupt what was going on. Ayala hadn't seen her brother that happy in a very long time. She didn't dare go to him right then, and that was that.

Aya was an option as well, but no matter how hard Ayala tried she couldn't find her twin. It was like she had just... poofed. And it did indeed grieve her to be away from the person who sometimes felt like her other half, but the mysterious loss of her twin she had gotten over some time ago... well, almost gotten over. Anyways, there was no use getting upset over that as well... So, Ayala was alone.

Ayala's eyes snapped open. She wasn't sure how much time had passed, only that she'd been sleeping for quite a while... and that she'd made up her mind. She needed to talk to someone and she knew exactly whom. Sitting up she glanced around the room and counted the candles she had. "Five..." she mumbled and began to smile, "perfect..." she stood up and blew them out, then picked them all up. Although it was dark Ayala could still see, at least after a short while. She pulled out a dagger from her pocket and cut into her arm with it, smiling as she saw the blood started to pour out of the wound she had created. Dipping her finger into the blood and kneeling down on the floor she started painting a pentagon on the floor. When she was done she placed the five candles into it, one in each peak of the star, and then sat down in the middle of the pentagon. Ayala shut her eyes and started chanting.

About five minutes later the floor under her vanished and she fell through it, into the realm of the dead. By then she was exhausted, as such travels are dangerous and complicated. She didn't know for sure if she would ever return, but then again, did it really matter? Who would want her alive anyways? Who cared anyways? No one did, so she wouldn't either. With a low duns she hit the dry, gray, ground of the realm.

Ayala glanced around, slowly standing up and brushing some gray dirt off her skirt. The sun was darkish purple and the ground was like a gray dessert. Some places of it had a slight shade of blue. Dead trees were scatted here and there, making everything look even more dead than the place probably actually was. Well, everything in there was dead, of course. Everything but she. High up on the sky was a big, silver, intimidating moon, glaring down at the landscape beneath it. Ayala bit her lip as she walked, looking slightly nervous. She had only ever visited the realm of the dead (or purgatory in other words) once before and then she'd barely gotten out at all. She was somewhat scared indeed.

She didn't stop walking until she spotted a man standing by a small pond with black water. The water was probably clear, but it was so deep the water became black. She watched the long haired figure nervously, hoping he wouldn't mind her talking to him for a while. His hair was long, reaching to right beneath his shoulder blades and he was wearing a black cloak. She could only see one of his hands, and it was almost so pale it was white.

"Greetings, sister of my beloved," the man said in a strange voice without even turning around. He was gazing down at something in his arms and Ayala had a feeling she knew what or who it was. She hesitated before answering. "Hello, Noctis..." she said softly and bowed her head in respect for the demon. He didn't look at her but she knew he could see her. "You have come here for help, because you regret what you have done, right?" he asked softly, finally turning around. He was a handsome man with the most wonderful of smiles. In his arms he had a little infant boy with eyes the same color of the brightest of blue crystals and his hair raven black like his fathers. He was sleeping His red eyes locked on Ayala's pale and thin little figure and one of those smiles tugged the corners of his lips. She returned a slight smile an and then sighed softly. "Yes... and I believe you already know what I did?" Ayala asked wearily, looking down with a depressed expression. "Hmm," Noctis said thoughtfully before he turned around and gazed back at he water in the pond. He flicked his hand and the scene of Sepiroth with Cassandra appeared. The part where they kissed. A soft but sad smile flashed across the demons lips as he watched them, "Yes," Noctis finally said after a while, "but I don't understand why you're coming to me..." he didn't take his eyes off Sepiroth and Cassandra. Ayala's lips twitched slightly as she stepped up beside him and scuffed her feet. "I'm not sure," she admitted, "I just need to talk to someone..." her voice grew slightly fainter and weaker as tears started rolling down her pale cheeks. "You miss him, don't you?" Ayala asked softly after another while of silence, wiping her tears and pulling herself together. Noctis nodded his head distantly. "More than you could ever imagine..." he agreed softly, sadly. Then he was the one to hesitate. "I made sure I would go here to purgatory... not only to get my son, but also for the reason that I simply... I know I cannot go to heaven, because of what I am. But I was never bad enough to be sent directly to hell... so purgatory was the last option. I came here in hope to return one day... but now I'm not sure I should. Maybe I shall finally give up, let father have my soul and get over with it..." he said d softly. Ayala bit her lip as she listened to him. "Why?" she asked softly. Noctis gestured towards the scene in the pond. "Without him I have no reason to live, and if I returned I would not have the right to want to have him back... He has to move on, and that is exactly what he is doing right now. I don't have any right to interfere..." She nodded her head slightly. "I see..." Ayala muttered and looked distant.

After another long moment of silence Noctis suddenly surprised Ayala by carefully putting his arms around her and pulling her into a hug. "If you want to cry," he whispered softly, holding her close, "then cry..." When she heard his words she suddenly couldn't hold it back any longer. She burst into tears, letting him hold her and gently stroke her long, wavy but messy blond hair. Quietly he started humming, the same lullaby Zoroark had used for Kraus and the song his older sister used to sing for him and his twin when they were young and could not sleep. Oh, sometimes he missed the warmth of Rebekah's arm and her so beautiful voice. He was a good singer as well, but not many beat Rebekah.

Rahael watched his father silently, sadly until he was fully still. He gave Rapheal's cold hand one last squeeze and his wings drooped, before he let it fall to his fathers side and then turned around, his pupils glowing bright red. "Sleep well," he murmured softly before walking over to the door and opening it. Rahael stepped out, his black boots making a slight noise against the wooden floor. Then he narrowed his eyes and sniffed twice. Ayala was there, good. A slight, twisted smirk flashed across his lips before he walked over to the door where the scent came from and stepped inside.

She was laying on the floor, barely breathing and looking totally gone. Rahael frowned and paused, tilting his head. What was she doing? Blood was leaking from a wound on her wrist and one of the candles had almost burnt out. Rahael wondered what would happen if it did so. He walked over to her and reached out his hand towards her, attempting to take hold of her hair. Quickly he withdrew his hand for he could suddenly feel a burning pain in it. Whatever she had done the pentagon was somehow shielding her. He glanced at one of the candles before he kicked it to the side. Then he tried to reach for her again. It worked. He took hold of her hair and lifted her up by it. She didn't even react. This surprised Rahael. It really was like she was totally gone. More gently he lifted her up and threw her over his shoulder. Then he used his enhanced speed to leave the inn unnoticed.

Last he had seen Sepiroth in the castle, so there was a chance he was there now as well. It hadn't looked like he was going to leave, after all. For that reason Rahael went to look there first. As soon as he'd entered he was proved right. He could feel Sepiroth's scent not too far away. With swift steps he walked through the castle, his black boots making a rather loud, clicking noise against the floor.

Rahael threw the doors to the dining room open, not caring if he interrupted anything. In he walked, noticing Sepiroth and the queen eating cake. "Sepiroth!" Rahael said, a hint of rage in his voice, although he kept his expression void of it. His eyes were still glowing bright red, though. "Your dear little sister here is responsible for my fathers death," he lifted unconscious Ayala down from his shoulder and placed her on the floor. It wasn't all true, as Rapheal had been dying anyways, but she'd hurried the process up! Ayala still didn't react. Her eyes were open but empty. It was like she was dead, weren't it for the fact that she was still breathing. Weakly, but breathing. It was like she was in some kind of trance.

"Either you will make sure she gets punished for her misdeeds yourself, or I will drag her down in the nearest torture chamber and I promise you, she won't get out alive," there was cooldness in his voice and his pupils glowed slightly brighter. Rahael was serious and he meant what he said. He wouldn't let her go around unpunished for what she did. He suspected by the way he had found his father she had done much more than necessary...

(Sometimes I regret playing her as a teenager... it always ends like this! <.< *sniffles*)

Rahael paused as he listened to him speak, my expression softening slightly. "I shall take her away but not harm her... like you said, revenge is a shameful act, a selfish excuse... and I shall not sink to her level," he carefully picked her up, then frowned slightly as he noticed her breathing stop, "although..." he continued, hesitating before saying anything more, "I maybe shouldn't have... " Rahel was interrupted by her suddenly breaking into a coughing fit, her eyes snapping open and life returning to them. She glanced around in confusion, her heart plunging right into her shoes when she saw Sepiroth. Quickly she looked away, tears filling her eyes once more. Ayala glanced up at Rahael and cringed slightly as she noticed he was holding her. He sighed and placed her down, turning his gaze away from the murderer of my father. "Although he was already dying when I left him... which I regret deeply." Rahael finished and looked down at his hands, "he would have died anyways, I'm sure... it was fate... but still..." his voice grew fainter and his wings drooped.

"He should have..." Rahael agreed softly, sadly. Ayala blinked and looked at them, her pale blue eyes widening in pure shock. "Wait?" she said slowly, her voice faint, "wait... he's dead?" her voice turned into something barely more than a whisper as she glanced between Rahael and her brother. She could defiantly not meet Sepiroth's gaze, so she refrained from doing so. Rahael's mouth tightened as he heard Ayala and he glanced at her, "you mean you didn't know your actions would kill him?" he asked wryly, making Ayala wince slightly. Rahael could seem rather intimidating when he wanted to... and Ayala wasn't the bravest person either. Ayala's mouth twitched slightly as she heard his voice and still looked shocked. Quickly she glanced down at her hands, shaking her head slowly, "No... that can't be right," she whispered weakly, "I didn't mean to kill him, I didn't even mean to harm him at first..." her voice was barely audible as she gazed down at her pale hands, "I-I... I'm not even a hundred percent s-sure what happened anymore..." she bit her lip hard enough to draw blood and did her best to stop spilling tears.

Ayala wiped her tears and started at the ground, still looking shocked. She couldn't speak, she couldn't do anything right then. She was too stunned to even think. I have just... killed somebody?! I have killed a person! A alive person! Why did I do that?! It makes no sense, no sense at all... He stomach knotted itself as she thought it and she felt sick. She looked up at Sepiroth and paused when she noticed him nod. It surly wasn't to her or Rahael. "Sepiroth..."
