Despite the sun hanging in the sky and little to no clouds, the city was dead silent. The parks were empty, the shops were closed, and only the odd soul could be seen wandering about in the streets. This, though perhaps a litte weird, was perfectly normal.

The Sheepish City had always been known for it's odd behaviour. Life was absent during the day, whereas it was booming during the night. Travelers had stumbled across the place countless times and thought the that the city was abandoned, which had earned them quite a surprise once the sun started to set. A flood of people, stringing lights through the trees and playing music through loud speakers proved that the city wasn't dead after all.

Still, it was no doubt that Sheepish was an especially unique place. Ellis Flinch was one of the many unlucky ones living in it.

Ellis had learned a lot of things in his fifteen years of life. 1) Don't mess with Spell-Casters, 2) Don't steal from guests, 3) Never insult the Plant People, and 4) Never pry too much into someone else's business. He could have counted a lot more, but those were the simple basics. At least, the ones that would keep him out of the most trouble.

In fifteen years, Ellis had managed to stick close with the basics. Up until the Releasing, that is. Which happened to be today. Right now. Where he had been messing with Spell-Casters in order to steal from some guests who had happened to be plants, all because he couldn't stay out of someone's business. He had broken his own rules in a short time span of twelve minutes, and was still breaking them five minutes after. Quite frankly, Ellis Flinch deserved a round of applause for his own stupidity.

"You're who now?"
The clerk lady of the medical building asked. She was staring at him through her pink-rimmed spectacles, most positively judging him. She hadn't bought his fib of being Orchid Larkspur, which was a shame because he had done so much to snag the poor guy's ID. She also hadn't believed him when he told her that he was a certified doctor, visiting all the way from the Tall Twelve Towers. The lady was smart, Ellis would give her that.

"I told you, I'm I doctor." Ellis repeated, his voice serious. He was trying to make himself look busy by adjusting his tie. "I've got business to atten-"

"Ellis Flinch." The woman stated flatly. "A stick-on mustache and a suit is not enough to make you a different person. Besides, you were here yesterday doing the same thing."

Ellis felt his shoulders sag. "I have to see them, Eleanor. Just one quick peak and I'll be gone, okay? Just-"

"The Dreamers are off limits." Eleanor sighed. "I told you yesterday and the day before that, and now I'm telling you again. No visitors. No peaking. No 'sneaking little kids in because they beg the receptionist'. Now give Orchid is ID back and go home."

Ellis glared at her. The Dreamers had arrived a little over a month ago, and still hardly anyone knew anything about them. Were they dangerous? Were they aliens (well they were from 'Earth', but still)? Space travelers? Serial killers? Who knew? The only thing that was for sure was that they were 'probably human' and came from a 'distant planet'. Even then, how reassuring was that? Ellis was dying to know everything about them. His curiosity was only to benefit himself, sure, but that didn't have to be bad. He was trying to regain his status as a Helper. What better way of doing that other than to help? He could assist these 'probably human's, help them figure out what happened to them. That was, if Eleanor let him past her desk...

Ellis was about to ask again when the sound of the shifting gears of the Lifter flooded the main entrance of the building. Both he and Eleanor glanced at eachother in confusion, then turned their eyes to the machine. After a few long seconds the doors slid open, and out stepped three people accompanied by three guards. Ellis could tell that two of them were girls and one was a boy, but other than that he had no idea who they were. He looked back at Eleanor, who in turn gave him a nod.

Then, he knew. They were the Dreamers. They were leaving.

Arin liked plans. Knowing what was to come was a comfort to her. And these earthlings as her father put it made her plans shrivel up. Those poor people she couldn't help but think upon first hearing the news. It would pain her greatly to be so far away from home.

And true to her nature Arin knew she'd help these people. To start she'd offer them a place to stay. Her home was big enough and being only ocupied by herself, her father and the odd servent Arin was most definitely not opposed to company.

Of course her father hated the idea but seeing the joy it brought on his daughters face cause him to shut up.

At the moment Arin was sitting in the little garden attached to her room. Her cat, a little black kitten named Casper purred heavily in her lap. A book was held in her hands and Arin was happy with the quiet. Friends were good, but so was loneliness.

Unfortunately her quiet was broken by Amelia, a rather heavy set maid rushing towards her. 'Miss Arin! Oh! Oh!' Reaching Arin who was now sitting up in intrest she doubled over. 'They've awoke! The Dreamers!'

Arin's face broke up into a smile at once. Casper jumped from her lap just before Arun leaped from her bench. 'Oh this is great Amy! I need to go see them! Tell father will you?'

The maid could only nod in reply as the blonde was already racing off.

Luckily Arin didn't live that far from the facility where the Dreamers stayed. It only took ten minutes for her to arrive. Slightly winded from running the whole was Arin's run turned into a walk as she entered the doors.

Upon her arival Arin saw she wasn't the only one waiting. A boy she knew by face but not name stood waiting. Blinking the girl wondered why he wanted to see The Dreamers. Hopefully he didn't have the same plan as her.

Still never one to be rude Arin strolled up happily. 'Ello! Nice to see you again Eleanor. You look dashing today.' She smiled but Eleanor looked anything but flattered. More annoyed then anything.

'Arin Desmond. Not you as well. I've told you time and time again, you can't talk to them.' She pointed to the so far nameless boy by her. 'See? You aren't the only one. I'm turning everyone down.'

Arin just rolled her eyes but her smiled never faded. 'Come on Eleanor! We're both adults here.' The receptionist made a noise of disbelief that went unoticed by Arin. 'Oh these poor folks must be scared to death! What would we do if we were lost somewhere diffrent? I for one would want someone to offer me help. It's the kind thing to do. Besides, who knows what we could learn from them?' Her rambling finally finished as Arin looked up to that three people she had never seen before we're already in the building.

Gasping she leaned over the boy to gaze at them. 'Oh! It's the Dreamers! Look at them! The poor dears must be scared with those big guards. Let's hope they get let go soon.' Arin coughed and moved outward so she could be spotted clearly. Hand waving in the air she began to shout, 'Oi! Dreamers! Over here! Helloooo! Please come here?!'

Mary had expected that she'd simply be taken out of the building where she'd been kept and moved to a different location, perhaps to be interrogated or at the very least briefed on the workings of the society she'd unexpectedly fallen into. However, event had quickly proven that leaving the building, even under guard, would not be so simple. Upon entering the lobby, she'd found herself surrounded by people of all sorts. There was a strange girl with red-brown hair who had swiftly taken a fall into a desk, and then, as though in a daze, had gawked for a few moments at the rather serious black haired boy who'd been imprisoned along with herself. Mary had been inclined to go and ask if she was okay, but that was around the time that a man had barged in through the front door with a rather large set of weapons slung over his back, casually asking where he was and if he could buy any supplies there. While he certainly seemed out of place, she doubted that he was foreign to the world like herself. More importantly, though, he looked terrifying, given that he was soaked head to toe in blood. She couldn't tell if it was his or somebody else's, but either way, he looked like he'd just come freshly from a battlefield. So there was a war going on in this world too? She almost forgot her place and rushed over to ask if he was alright, but he didn't seem to be harmed, and one of the doctors - at least, she assumed he was a doctor - swiftly came to do just that. She sighed, remaining where she stood, not wanting to throw her guards into a panic by making any sudden moves. She averted her eyes, trying to ignore the blood that had so rattled her, and just hoped the man was unharmed.

Even so, she was getting more and more uneasy with each passing moment. She had no idea what was going on, or where she was being taken. For all she knew, she might be on her way to some kind of freakshow, to be locked up and paraded about before gawking audiences such as the truly massive crowd that had already flooded into the building. She couldn't ask her guards, since they probably wouldn't tell her, but maybe somebody else might know... Glancing around, to her dismay, the only person she saw close enough to speak to was a young boy who, while he might have been her age, seemed to have an astonishingly bushy mustache for someone of his youth. More to the point, though, everybody - even the guards - seemed to be purposefully ignoring and avoiding him, meaning there wasn't anyone between them, and nobody would probably notice if she asked him. Shuffling slightly to the left, she tried not to startle the guards as she moved within speaking distance of the boy. Waving slightly to him to get his attention, she spoke.

"Excuse me, sir? Pardon my rudeness, but do you know what exactly is going on here? Presently, I'm just finding my feet, so I'm a little confused by the situation," She inquired quietly, giving a slightly uneasy smile.

Curiosity, yes, curiosity was what stayed his hand at the appearance of the tiny red haired child as she had approached him and reached up to his hand. If she had been an adult, he would have struck her down for getting in his path as the other man had quickly learned, but she was merely a child, there was little she could do to him, and more then that, children were always odd in their actions and purpose. But it seems he had underestimated the child, his emerald green eyes narrowed the tiny sparks that seemed to dance between his knuckles and her hand. The lightning that seemed to crackle in the background despite the sky being clear, it was an odd mixture, one that to his surprise, no one else besides himself seemed to notice. Were the others simply fools or oblivious? If his brief venture into this cesspit of sheeps and shepherds had taught him anything, it was likely that it was both.

Gripping his blade, he prepared to finish his task pushing the fire haired child out of his mind, for now, until she had done something to surprise him once again. Her words sparked a momentary hesitation in him as his eyes flicked over to her again, did she truly think that such a thing would work? Drills? Was she out of her wits? What kind of falsehood wa... no, perhaps it was the truth for why would someone choose such an obvious falsehood? Artos roamed the child's face, her fierce eyes that almost seemed to be challenging him, daring him to call her bluff, but was it? The people here seemed to have no idea what she was talking about made painfully obvious by a rather dull woman who could not seem to make a connection unless it was put in front of her. He was tempted to inform her that a man bleeding and another with a blade should have been an answer on its own, but he did not, as his mind was consumed by the small child, did she dare try and deceive him with such a bad deception? Or... was it the truth?

Another sheep had come to the pen, this one a blond, his eyes noted, as she seemed to back the child's story up, or try and support the deception. The girls? Was she referring to the oblivious black haired woman with the odd club? That seemed rather unlikely given how clueless she was of what was transpiring, but perhaps she wasn't referring to the girl with the metallic club? The idea that she would 'press' charges was laughable, the corrupt guards in the city would do no such thing if this truly was no deception then they should have done a better job of informing people of what was going on, and he could not allow himself to be held for he had a task to complete, and he would cut down anyone that tried to stop him.

Again?, the dark voice crawled into the back of his mind, I did not recall asking for your input, Artos thought back, his eyes staring at the two before him, the girl and the child.

The order... must be obeyed. Master demands, Artos let his blade lower a fraction of an inch as he realized the creatures meaning, yes, perhaps this wasn't a deception, but he did not have time to waste on the corrupt and ill-trained sheeps pretending to be guards. Yes, he would allow this 'boy' to leave.

Artos closed his eyes for a fraction of a second as he regained control of his mind and locked the beast back within its cage, but his eyes snapped open, and he turned his head to the left, towards the bleeding man to see a boy kneeling next to him, chanting and healing him. His eyes narrowed, they had deceived him. It had been a ruse, a ruse he had almost fallen for. They had been waiting for him to be distracted.

It was a quick and simply movement as he stepped to the side, pulling the boy with him as if he weighed nothing, and thrusting the blade down and into the leg of the nearly healed man, the blood spluttering forth as the main artery was severed; it was merely a shame the man had already passed out from bloodloss before. The boy that healed him would also suffer for his part deception, but his thoughts were cut off by the sound of running footsteps, turning his head, he barely managed to catch sight of the same clueless woman running at him with that strange club of hers taking a swing at him. With his blade on the other side of him, he would not be able to deflect her, so he used what he had. If the woman wanted to save the thief from his punishment, she would be the one that carried out the sentence. With his left hand still holding onto the boys throat, he lifted him off his feet and into the air... straight into the path of the oncoming metallic club.
