When the water had burst in through the flaps of the raft he'd jerked awake suddenly due to being the other closest to it. But before he could do anything he saw the girl on the other side had already go up and fastened it shut. He smiled and muttered a thanks before nodding off again. The next he knew was that the girl had pulled open the flaps and was calling out something about land nearby. What really woke him up was the thumb of the raft beaching itself on said land.
He pulled himself up and through the flaps, jumping down onto the sand of the beach. "Well its not Everest... mores the pity." He repositioned his hat to sheild his eyes better from the sun, before walking a little further up the beach to a small outcrop of rocks with trees that had grown over them to form a shaded area with protection from the jungle behind. He put his rucksack down and took off his jacket, placing it next to it.
"Right, water and food." He rubbed his hands together and looked at the area around them.
