Spunky girl from the Noapeta border town of Riman
Karen is in one word spunky. She doesn't like being told what to do and will do what she thinks is right or what she wants to do. And whenever she gets something into her mind she will always go all in on it. However she can act more feminine at times, she despises pretending to be delicate. She is a tomboy but she would always deny that. When she is fighting she is rather ruthless, however she has never actually had to take a life in a fight. After all, living in a backwater town like Riman, you don't really need to.
Karen right now carries little other than her white sheathed longsword that was a gift to her from her brother, Hank.
She also has a small money pouch that she keeps by her side.
Rune:??? (Karen has neither told nor shown anyone her rune. Although her rune is located on her left arm)
Karen was born and raised in Riman, an out-of the-way backwater town of Neopeta. She was born into a family with two older brothers; Hank was 5 and the Oscar who was 9 when she was born. When she was born her parents found the symbol of her rune on her body, and quickly discovered what it mean. For fear of public view they always hid iher left arm, where her runic mark is. As Karen grew her mother continued to stress this practice even after telling her what the runes were, and insisting that they should not be dangerous. As she grew, she lived with her mother primarially as her father worked in a nearby mine for a living, which was essencially the lifeblood of the town. Karen grew up learning to be like and idolizing her brothers though she denied it when it was pointed out to her. As she met others her age through town she also established a friendship with Lucas Cecil, a boy from the outer farms of Riman. When she was 10, Oscar got a job in the mine with her father. It was then that Hank began to teach her the sword realizing how much Karen was hating her job around the house more and more. the sword was a dicipline handed down from father to son, not from father to daughter. It was rare for a girl to learn the sword but when anyone asked Hank about it he just said that there should be at least two people in the household who knew how to handle a sword. She picked up the sword relatively slowly and continued to train with Hank, learning what her father had taught him, until she was fifteen. Shortly after she turned fifteen Hank moved to the capitol of Neopeta, Felber. Karen was devistated by this sudden move and at being without either of her brothers at the house at all. However Hank continued to send letters to Karen about how to practice the sword. And recently Hank had sent Karen her first sword. A white sheathed longsword, with a message that he had scrounged up some money for it while working as an innkeeper. Since then she has continued to practice the sword, even at the persistance of her mother to stop, who had beren oblivious to her training until she recieved her blade. Since she has continued to practice with Luke and by herself, despite her mother trying to take up as much of her time as possible.
