Skills

Polearm - 25
This Skill concerns itself with larger bladed melee weapons whose reach is further than normal. This includes both Polearms and Swallows.

Riding - 10
A character with this Skill knows the basics of staying on and controlling a mount like a Chocobo. One Task Check is required to mount up and begin riding; depending on the conditions, additional Task Checks may need to be made during the course of the ride.

Dancing - 20
A character with this skill can tell a waltz from a gavotte, and knows enough of the general etiquette and required steps to avoid mashing people’s toes in the process.

Acrobatics - 20+5
A character with this Skill is flexible and coordinated enough to execute complex acrobatic maneuvers. A single Task Check is required for a set of maneuvers or feat of balance. Conditional Modifiers depend on both the complexity of the manuevers and the circumstances. The consequences for failure hinge on the feat being attempted.

Singing - 20
While not everyone is born with the voice of an angel, careful training can make all the difference. Characters with this Skill know all about projection and range, and have at least a few melodies memorized at any given time.

Awareness - 15
This Skill measures a character’s collective sensory awareness. In the field, it is mainly used to spot hidden items, secret passages, and other incongruities that might not be noticeable at first glance. At higher levels, Characters with this Skill gain a certain sixth sense when it comes to spotting potential dangers or noticing when something isn’t quite right – a con-man attempting to swindle the party out of its Gil with counterfeit Elixirs is just as likely to get the neck-hairs tingling as a dozen slavering beasts waiting in ambush around the corner.

Trade - 15
A character with this Skill knows her way around the art of buying cheap and selling dear. A successful Task Check can be used to locate merchants and shops in the immediate area, or can be used to appraise the authenticity and value of an item.

Climbing - 20+5
Whether it's light free-climbing or full-fledged mountaineering, a character with this Skill can scale vertical surfaces with a reasonable degree of success. One or more Task Checks may be needed for a successful ascent; in the event of a failure, no progress is made. A Botch will always result in a fall, with consequences depending on the severity of the drop.

Etiquette - 20
This Skill gives a character the ability to act and speak diplomatically regardless of the circumstances, observing and respecting the sensibilities of others. A successful Task Check allows a character to discern the most appropriate code of conduct in a given situation, and act accordingly; a failure results in the character misinterpreting the situation, with potentially disasterous results. Botches will almost
always result in a diplomatic gaffe of the first order.

Swimming – 15
A character with this Skill has the training to float, swim, and dive in water and other liquids. Normal swimming requires a successful Task Check to stay afloat and get to a destination, while more Task Checks
may be required for long or difficult stretches of swimming. Botches always have disasterous consequences. Diving requires a Task Check if a character is attempting to reach a particular location underwater, if he remains submerged for longer periods of time, and if he attempts to take an action underwater.

Language – Common Tongue - 15
The standard Human tongue, lingua franca on most worlds. Most, if not all, adventurers will be fluent in this language to one degree or another. This Skill is given to all starting characters, regardless of Job.

Double Jointed Legs -
Thanks to the structure of their legs, Creimire can jump further and survive greater falls than other races. Creimire gain a +5 Racial Modifier on any Acrobatics and Climbing checks where these abilities are beneficial.

Nobility
Effect: Noble blood runs through the character’s veins, placing them a few notches above the average adventurer. Characters with this kind of background may not always have kingdoms and other holdings to call their own; in some cases, they may be illegitimate heirs or outcasts from their own domain.

Though it has been 150 years since the Cremiere had lost their kingdom... their lineage still lives on. 150 years later, although most do not remember, Alsa has the blood of her family. She would be known as Princess Alsa Crescent, yet the Crescent family since the kingdom has fallen has become less known to those of our time now. Even to Alsa, she is unfamiliar of her importance to the Cremiere race. The viera on the other hand have preserved such information and know of the lineage itself yet seeing that times have changed and Vidarian's do not claim to be a kingdom, the information is stored away for Cremieres only and for safety.

Ancient History
Effect: The character has a deep, abiding connection to an ancient civilization or vanished race. In many cases, such a heritage will not be obvious until later in the game; only when the party discovers fragments of said civilization will her knowledge and powers fully manifest themselves. While such ties will be useful to the party, they will also draw the attention of opponents scheming to use them for their own ends.

As you know being a princess holds quite a ancient history indeed yet as seen as all cremiere's their lineage and history lie amidst the fallen kingdom of Cleyridia.

Image

Allegiance
Effect: The character belongs to a group or organization that may be capable of helping her out during the course of her travels – a mercenary group, a band of thieves, loyal vassals of a king or kingdom.

Alsa is a part one of the highest ranking members of the Lancer Guild of Vidaria. She is not a leader but is claimed to be known as a Dragon Knight among them or a chosen champion. This is one reason she is lead to go among Alexander to take part in the festival.

Image

Beauty
Effect: While the definition of 'attractive' continues to be hotly debated in pubs the world over, a character with this Advantage taps into some timeless, universal standard of beauty that never quite goes out of fashion.

Compulsion
Effect: The character has a compulsive need for a certain something, whether a physical substance – herbal tea, coffee, cheap cigarettes – or a particular activity, such as high-stakes gambling or airship racing. As a result, they will be through hell and high water to get their ‘fix’.

Interestingly she enjoys and finds satisfaction by smoking her Vidarian pipe. She doesn't always have the pipe in her mouth but will do it once she is in a break.

Lone Wolf
Effect: The character is ill at ease around the company of others; her poor ability to judge responses and gruff demeanor tend to cause offense more often than not. Depending on character progression this may go away later.

Heightened Senses
Effect: The character has enhanced hearing, smell, or sight, allowing her to spot things that would normally not be obvious.

Appearance

Alsa actually has quite a nice complexion to her with her grayish-white furry skin. You could say she'd be soft to keep yourself against if you wanted warmth. The cremiere stands to only 1.5m (4'9) and weighs only 60 kg (130 lbs). In addition to this part of her appearance, Alsa has long and straight white hair that flows down half way down her chest barely reaching past her breast. Part of her hair covers her right eye most of the time unless moved. Alsa has beautiful enchanting greenish teal eyes. Generally she is beautiful with her appearance.

Equipment wise her apparel follows final fantasy's typical and tradition dragoon appearance yet has a few twist and changes.. Like the picture of Freya, she wears a similar hat that is dark blue. Her leather coat which follows her color scheme of dark blue is rather similar to excluding the emblem and cloth hanging from the collar. Her coat is kept open which reveals her bottom layer. Her bottom layered shirt is a white, ruffled frill shirt which covers the beginning of her leather slacked shorts. As ever cremiere's boots are... they're customly made leather that covers up to the ankle yet the claws of her feet are revealed. As a weapon her lance holds true looking like a trident with a long red ribbon hanging from the end.

Personality

When it comes down to personality, Alsa on the outside to those who do not know her, could be probably be seen as a “Bitch”. Yet to those who do get to know her, they will could say something along the lines of “She is open and isn't afraid to say anything that hurts but she means well”. The reasons this would be said is because Alsa can be quite straightforward, blunt, impatient and stubborn yet redeeming qualities wold be that she is optimistic, Punctual and kind when she shows it.

Alsa naturally has a harder time with people and her group due to her blunt personality but she tries her best to at least let them know that she cares even though she'll deny or cover it up. Alsa is very introverted meaning she is often quiet and doesn't mind when others do the talking. This also means keeping to herself, even if its information although when it comes down to needing to speak then she will getting straight to the point. Being introverted also comes to the fact that she is indeed a Lone Wolf. Even as Alsa is a part of the lancer guild she felt like it would always be better if she were alone and doing it herself. Yeah one may say she is full of herself but deep down, she just didn't want others to get hurt. In addition she felt it was her responsibility to keep everyone else alive.

In a good sense, when the atmosphere is down, Alsa tries to be as optimistic as she can even though being introverted may stop it. She is also one to be very punctual and tries to never make anyone wait but some events are unavoidable. The girl does her best in general with everyone although her blunt and straightforward demeanor is shown. Overall she is just one rounded person yet this doesn't exclude her natural habits.

When inside and alone, she enjoys singing and dancing. This was and is often her joy when alone and needs to relieve stress. She doesn't enjoy showing this side of her but there are times where some fun is just needed. When outside in a field or in her forest.. she was often good at naturally climbing and going through her homeland acrobatically. She was no ranger but she definitely had the skill like one even when holding her lance.

Aside from these... Interestingly as blunt and straightforward as Alsa can get she has trade and etiquette which is obviously a very good cover up and act yet she can do it when she needs to. This is often what comes to play when she is called upon by her guildmaster.

History

Generations It's been a hundred and fifty years since the cremiere have fled their homelands and split up to many different nations of Celnaria. Yet the legacy continues and history is preserved among the federation of nature and magic, Vidaria. Although the cremiere families have forgotten and many stories that go around are seen as rumors, all that stands true to the legend of Cleyridia is upon the mistress whom knows nothing of her passed. Her life lead by her families new traditions of the lance and her legacy of the dragoon has swayed the thoughts of even her family of royal blood. This girl lass could be the very hope of her people to take back what's rightfully theirs yet will she believe the stories if she were to find out. She who has lived here her entirely has yet to be mentioned from the elders that keep her family's legacy and story secret made a result of a girl who acts as nearly their own protection. She may not be seen as a queen or princess of their people but to all vidaria... she is known as the legend of a hundred and fifty years, seen to be the cremiere hope to their own nation. Everyone knows the rumors of Cleyridia only by books and stories even Alsa herself but never had it spoke the last name of the king and queen.. Now a hundred and fifty years later, the baby of the Crescent family has sprung only to relies as a glowing blue soul, meaning she was the next dragoon. Although it was only rumors the Lancer guild in which they were a part of believed this was true. The guild was established by a Dragoon whom was a Miqo'te male and he is the one who notified the guild to keep the knowledge even claiming that a new Dragoon will rise soon...

When alsa was born she actually lived in the forest near a small town outside of Vidaria, her family consisted of two other Cremiere known as Malla Crescent and Rhor Crescent. The two were wonderful parents yet at the same time also Vidarian's Lancer guild members. Her mother more or less had to eventually give her position up to raise Alsa, which was her plan all a long and her father whom came and gone was at that time the lancer guild's champion. Claiming him to be the best lancer of their time. When Alsa was born it wasn't long til they saw the blue aura radiating from their baby's body and soon after a blue crystal formed upon their child's heart. The prophecy stood true, at least for the lancer guild. Yet to the cremiere of Vidaria this was an amazing event. The only cremiere to get this power nearly seemed as if she was meant to be the one to take back her homeland. Word spread quickly throughout Celnaria in different ways..To many, this was just an amazing event since most knew of the Dragoon of legend. The other part was specifically to hopeful Cremiere that this was Cleyridia's hope. Some elder viera's had a idea and thought to this as well but figured not to allow the family to know of their royal past. Although a great motivation or “rumor” there were a lot who figured it was lies... especially cremiere of different nations which is why many do not treat her as some hero or hopeful idol.

When Alsa reached the age of four, she had already began training in the polearm arts by her mother who surprisingly was scary to many people, even Rhor. Her training methods weren't easy and heavily exhausting yet there was no way Alsa could stop. Her intense training often made her become excluded and unfriended due to the amount of time it was taking. Aside from her melee training, It could be well noted that although as rough as her mom could be she taught Alsa the art of singing and dancing which was basically Alsa's only play time. Finally by the age of ten she was able to join the lancer's guild. Being new in the guild had kept Alsa quite and even on days where she had time off without any missions. She was training herself in the wilds to fight prey, strengthen her body and expand her knowledge of survival. However as every Cremiere family is... they were always close and she would always come home to see her parents...

Upon the age of fifteen, Her father was sent out on a mission alone to climb the vi'eran Mountain and find out why the mountain began shattering. Though he successfully found out what caused it... it was a whole different story to say he survived... It wasn't long to say his return never made it and Alsa and her mother stood before the lancer guild leader pleading him to let her go. Although he didn't want to he decided to let her go by their determination... As alsa climbed upon the mountain she felt as if the crystal was singing to her. Hearing the hum clearly yet her mother couldn't. She suddenly opened up her shirt to see the crystal glowing. Never had this happened before which made her scared. As they finally reached the top. There, stood before them was a grand black dragon. Never did she ever lay eyes on one until now. Even in this age dragons were extinct and rarely seen. It wasn't long either when they noticed her father's corpse laying against the wall this sent Alsa in a rage. Her mother as well as the two fiercely fought the dragon she could feel the crystal upon her heart getting warmer and when it came to the final blow that is when Alsa reached her true potential showing even her mother that she indeed was the dragoon. Leaping 30 meters into the air to crash down upon the dragon. After the battle A blue light radiated from the dragon coming in as if the crystal was absorbing its power.

After reporting back and telling them the news, Alsa was promoted to champion due to her legacy and extreme skill. To the rest of Celnaria, they have yet to hear about this. Five years later when it came time to get a team to lead, she refused wanting to work alone which was normal. Although the leader didn't like it – he accepted it. Yet alas a new loss was made this year as well. Her mother old... passed away... she was no longer able to go on without her husband and felt too weak to continue on. Which Alsa couldn't forget.. yet to her, she was at least thankful of being with her in the end, then not knowing. Five months later, she got word that she would be going to Alexander to take part in the festival which came only every 20 years, she felt honored but didn't know that her path may change after this...

So begins...

Dragoon (Level 1)

EXP:1/5

Alexander (Port)– Airship Docks

The first 20 minutes…

Alsa's eyes were closed as she could hear the the hiss of the airship coming to a stop before the unpleasant mechanics of the that binded the airship in placed clapsed onto the vehicle. The motion felt rough but as any passenger, our Lancer knew that it only meant they were about to let passengers off soon. The girl's eyes slowly opened to the crowd lifting themselves up and grabbing their belongings. It made her rather unhappy to see how crowded it was but this was only natural, especially due to the fact that not only did families come to Alexander to celebrate the fourth celebration but our natural adventurers, guilds, and other talented fighters too. With her one revealing eye, it looked as if it had been eying a tarutaru thief who was conversing with a few of his team mates. It unsure if they were of a guild but none-the-less were she surprised. She stretched accidentally letting her polearm fall to the ground as if she forgot that she was holding it the entire time. When Alsa bent over from her seat to grab the weapon, she heard the door suddenly descended as every airship doors does when it is safe to get off. The girl lifted herself up, raising from her seat as a few people passed her to get off, even the taru and his two friends. She sighed when it was finally only but a few left and decided to make her move towards the exit of the ship. With every footstep the girl made she could hear it slightly echo among the wooden base of the ship as the voices of the passengers slowly faded away. It was only but thirty seconds that it had taken her to finally step off the boat. After finally getting off, she walked over to a wall and leaned against it before crossing her arms and closing her eyes thinking to herself before speaking outloud.

“Now... what were the instructions again..?”

Alsa was silent as her mind tried to clear everything up. ”When you finally get off the boat, be sure to head to Central Alexander. When their you'll see the beastmaster's tent... can't miss it when it's in the town's square and there are cages of beast... Relatively you'll probably only have an hour to get signed up due to the scheduling of the airship I placed for you. I would have sent you sooner but every time this festival comes around, it becomes rather difficult.. Anyways make me proud!” She said in her head, to remind herself of what to do. She unfolded her arms and opened her eyes and turned back to the airship and looked at it for only a second before heading towards the exit of the docks and into the airship office.

As Alsa made her way inside to pay, she could still hear the airship's steam engine running. It only reminded her of why she dislikes riding airships. Although for her, she enjoys the speed of it. The cremiere never did enjoy the loudness of the engine. Although naturally you get use to it, for Alsa it just wasn't the case, Especially when the engine turns on after maintenance. The girl itched her ear as she walked to the desk where a human female smiled up the her with a quill in her hand.

“Good day and welcome to Alexander, may I help you?”

Alsa nodded before taking a parchment rolled up from her pocket and handed it to the woman. She took it and began taking the string off gently with care.

“My name is Alsa Crescent, I'm the champion of the lancer guild of Vidaria here for the festival..”

The woman nodded, looking down at another paper. She made sound gestures of understandment and agreeing before dipping her quill in the ink and signing the paper.

“Ok you're all set, no need to pay – the funds were actually taken care of a week ago, so when you're ready to go back home. Confront the desk as you normally would and show them this...” The girl said giving Alsa a smaller piece of paper. Alsa only nodded taking the paper before walking passed the desk and onward into the city. When she finally made it outside, she looked around amazed as her gaze met with the beauty of Alexander.

Alsa blinked seeming as if she were stunned to be there. It was actually her first time being in such a place. Her whole life, she was surrounded by trees and nature. As close to this that she got was Vidaria which looked completely different. The dragoon's head followed a couple in slightly different clothing then what she was used to. To Alsa, it was very “artistic” and being here only made her want to explore the city to see what made this large city so grand. She moved over to a sign which was what she really needed at the time. Her eyes scanned it before noticing where she was.

“Port Alexander...” She said with a sigh at the end. “If this is their port then where is central...I only have about 45 minutes to find out where I'm going. I best ask someone for directions before “jumping” around to my destination.” Alsa thought. It was only lucky when but a small Tarutaru with a book between his arm was walking as if it were towards her direction. He had a soft smile and gave a friendly wave.

“You look quite losty-wosty. Anything I can help you with?” The taru spoke.

“Yes... actually you could – I never have stepped foot in Alexander and I know I am in Port Alexander currently... I need to know how to get to Central”

“Ah! An adventurer, no doubt bout to take part in the action for the festival. I guess I should've figured with you holding a lance and all.Ighty-righty, Heres how you get to Central Alexander, If you take these stairs after walking down that path, the stairs will eventually descend you down to Central Alexander.. No doubt you'll probably need directions for the square so... Once you get down those steps you'll want to take the alley ways through and head north east from you, the steets get crowded-wowded during the festivals from what I hear... Anyways – I myself best get back home to set this book up before watching the festival errupt – I only have 20 minutes to see the parade at least! See ya!” He said beginning to run the opposite way. Alsa waved before making her way to the stairs before descending down to Central Alexander...

The second 20 minutes….

Alexander (Central)– Stairs

As Alsa made her way down the long steps, she suddenly heard the sound of fire crackers and looked towards the east. Only to see a little bit of the light that was given off yet difficult due to the fact that it was daylight. The Cremiere blinked as she moved over to the stone rail of the stairs and placed her hands among it. Although it was the fire crackers that had brought her to look, the eyes wandered the grand city that she had only heard about. It may not have had a large tree that towered everything but she doubted even the tree could cover the area of this city. She tipped her hat a little before stretching knowing she didn't have much time and only at most fourty minutes. Seeing that she herself came from the highest point of the city, these stairs were obviously quite the walk. She smirked.

“I'm halfway … It had to be nearly 300 seconds that I have been walking down these stairs. I only wonder how that poor Tarutaru will make it down the steps quick enough...” Alsa sighed seeing a female tarutaru make her way down yet gave her a confused look as if she meant to say “I'm doing it, aint I?”. The Cremiere chuckled before gripping the side of the rail and smile with a grunt she lunged herself off and fell quickly onto the top of the closest build. Naturally people looked amazed and gasped when they saw this others just looked wide eyed as if they saw something amazing. The lancer only repeated this until she landed directly on a building in Town's square of Central Alexander. She blinked when suddenly fire crackers once again shot off. She looked up seeing confetti fall from the sky. Her eye squinted before horns and drums started playing. Her attention suddenly turned to the music and what she saw amazed her.

Three beautiful mithra dancers came dancing from a street that was blocked off before, with Tarutaru female's throwing flower petals out onto the streets. The crowd cheered wildly in excitement seeing the fascinating events starting. Suddenly acrobatics came jumping and preforming tricks and the band followed obviously spreading the joy further. Alsa smiled and clapped along with the music eventhough she knew time was running out. By this point Alsa only had thirty minutes to sign up for the event yet she couldn't help but watch the events unfold. It was all too new to her, Vidaria had their cultural festivals at night where many of the town folks placed up booths and held dances in West Vidaria but never has it came to this with a whole parade and to think this isn't even the rest of the day. Alsa moved the hair that began to cover her left eye to keep watching as the wind began to blow until her eyes suddenly came across the amazing creature that one of the preformers came riding out mounted upon one of the hard to tame monsters “Goobbue” It had to be from Ahn'verian territory but everyone clapped known the less. It was so expected of the Beastmaster's guild. Alsa chuckled, she wasn't sure if she was going to be amazed or afraid of such a sight. None-the-less her focus was taking control which wasn't good. Suddenly not from the parade but a new sight caught her attention. It was the three friends whom had rode on the same Airship as her. The Tarutaru ahead turned his head suddenly noticing Alsa kneeling watching them pass by and then continued on heading towards a booth where a small line was.

“Bingo!” Alsa said suddenly realizing that was where she needed to go. The girl leapted from the building into the alley way, so not to many people noticed she jumped from the top of a roof and landed as if it were normal. She adjusted the lance on her back and then her clothing as she began making her way into the loud and busy town's square. A cat passed her feet as she headed towards the outside. Alsa looked over but then continued only to fight the crowd that was gathered around. It was bad planning on the festival's part that the booth to sign up was where the best sight for the parade would be. Alexandrian's looked as the small cremiere pushed them aside. They shook their heads with a grumble and then continued their attention on the parade. When Alsa got up to the line, The small Tarutaru, looked over and examined Alsa and cleared his throat.

“So – Lancer guild's champion I'm guessing? He said as his eyes moved from Alsa's feet to her eyes. He didn't wait for a answer before speaking once more.

“I hear, you're a force to be wreckened with.. with quite a thrust. Yet – these are just rumor's going around... I personally doubt you're really as powerful as they say you are... although... I could be wrong” Obviously he spoke with an ego while his two goons grinned going with him.

“I guess we'll see in the event wont we?” Alsa smirked.

“So we shall...” He said turning around and walking forward seeing the line had moved during that small talk. They looked to be average swordsman or warriors, most likely the natural adventurers taking part in a event only for the thrill and no true meaning.”And to think they come from the beautiful nation of Vidaria...” Alsa thought in sarcasm. Vidaria in itself was very beautiful yet there were less swordsman in that area then there were rogue types and mages.

Alsa was looking towards the parade, It was moving along in what seemed to be a quick pace but this could just be anticipation. It wouldn't be long until the festival's event would begin yet what would she do in the remaining time she had.

“Next -...” A voice spoke.

Alsa walked up to the counter and took the quill. Her eyes then skimmed the paper to find a empty space available and immediately when she found it, the lancer wrote her name down.

“There you are...” Alsa said walking off after placing the quill in the ink. The lancer didn't wait for a reply but managed to do a bow before taking her steps away from the counter for the remaining. She then thought in her head wondering how much time they would have. Alsa placed her right hand's fingers against her forehead thinking and figured at the least she would have time for a drink at a near by tavern. She took her Vidarian pipe and lit it, only to take a few puffs and blow out a cloud of smoke while her eyes shifted towards the parade.

“Well – not to long now before I kick that Tarutaru's ass in the competition...”

The last 20 minutes…

Alexander (Central)– Town Square

There was only twenty minutes left until the festival began and things were closing in... as a matter in fact the parade around Central Alexander seemed like it was coming to an end. Alsa noticed the parade wasn't too long but then again she could only wonder if this really was the main event. The hunting festival is beginning soon and this was further reminded when the one taking the name shouted out.

“I'd like to remind you all that you only have nineteen minutes before the festival begins!”

Alsa tok the pipe from her mouth holding it only but a couple of inches from her mouth as her revealed eye shifted to the announcer. A sigh escaped from her mouth gently, Alsa was becoming impatient only wanting to get the event going already. She was suppose to be representing the Lancer Guild and yet to her mind it was only becoming troublesome. Not that she was in any danger but how time now was going rather slowly. The environment was just one other thing she wasn't used to although she could only figure other cities excluding her own was like this as well. The cremiere had been informed before coming to the duchy that Alexander had been the most populated nation if you could call it that for over seventyfive years and it continues to grow. She never expected it to be this crowded. The girl took another puff of the pipe only to tell it was hashed. Her eye squinted at the taste before patting the end of the pipe against her palm before releasing the tobacco against the ground. She stretched looking up into the sky before wondering to herself of what she could do. Upon reaching into her pocket she only found a small amount of gil if at most a thousand gil. She looked around before once again fighting her way out of the crowd only to see a city map. She thought outloud to herself expecting the map.

“I could go to the slums and find a tavern... yet.. who knows how long I have. It was only lucky at that time that an outside stall would be seen in the corner of her eye. It looked to be selling all sorts of beverages which she immediately could indentify some of them. She walked over to the stall once a few children passed by and placed her long fingernail on the counter tapping it to the Human who had her back turned working on storage. The tap startled her and immediately she turned to her blinking before speaking.

“Oh I-I'm sorry... what would you like madam?”

“Vidarian Ale please..” Alsa replied kindly. She wasn't sure how it would end up but it wasn't like she was going to get drunk. As a matter in fact the serving was too small and seeing it was an outside stall you could only be able to buy one. The girl bowed before getting the drink ready and handing it to the lancer who carefully drank the beverage while looking around. Her eyes glanced everyone around town square that was in her line of sight before gently speaking out.

“Only fourteen minutes left...”

There wasn't a lot that Alsa could think of doing that didn't require a large amount of time. On top of that she figured she really only had nine minutes left to be here before the event started. The girl stretched before walking towards the crowd only to notice they were heading onto town square rooftops. It was only due to preparation meaning it was almost time. The only ones on the ground after five minutes was the ones taking part in the event and the beastmaster guild. Alsa was sitting on the steps of a near by building until suddenly she heard the announcer's voice.

“All beast are being released! Warriors do not touch any of them unless they attack you on sight.”

Most of the beast came rushing out spreading across town hall into other areas. She could only hope and wonder if everyone would be ok, mainly in the other sections of Alexander but she doubted that they'd get too far. The Cremiere had risen from where she had sat only to leap upon the building she stood at ready to go.

After the announcer gave out the instructions based on the event she began the count down.

Alexander (Central)– Town Square

The first part of the tournament

The atmosphere of anticipation was definitely present, the sound of everyone readying their weapon, drawing their tools of war and battle could be heard nearly by everyone. Even the cremiere herself whom suddenly stood tall above everyone else on the roof grasped her lance as she turned towards the sounds of the beast. By this point they had scattered and they weren't in just one herd anymore. Alsa knelt down in a readied position to launch herself as she suddenly heard the announcer's countdown.

“10... 9... 8... 7..” She began loud for everyone to hear, the crowd leaned forward as their eyes scanned every individual and unique warrior on the field only to wonder who was going to be victorious. Alsa had her eyes closed in the last bit of meditation she would get. She suddenly felt as if she couldn't hear anything being so focused. The woman grasped her lance spinning it in her hand once again getting back into her jump position. It was only then when she suddenly obtained her hearing once more.

“3... 2... 1... go!” She said with the gun shooting into the air. Alsa leapt immediately using “Jump” and luckily in that moment was able to get a kill as she came down from jumping over a couple of buildings. The monster was luckily one she was use to and that was a Lesser Toad. Her ability didn't manage to kill the beast instantly but was well on its way to death. She already knew to avoid the tongue of the beast which made it all to simple. However she was only grateful that it had been a lesser one and not an adult. As the tongue lashed out to get her she managed to jab right through it making the toad back up only to suddenly be rushed by Alsa. That was a kill. Alsa stretched before chuckling saying that if she were to fight only things that came from her region this was in the bag. The reasons for such things was only because her guild originated from Vidaria and she had never fought anything outside of it. Due to this fact the woman felt the need of hunting down the other creatures she wasn't familiar with. Immediately to this thought she ran through the alley that was in and headed west towards the slums. The thought of fighting others lasted as she entered the alley way. No monsters had appeared in there yet this did not last.

It wasn't long after she got out when she was suddenly ambushed by a Verian Raptor. Her eyes went wide as the thing charged with such speed closing in on her. Being unfamiliar with the raptor's fighting style she jumped out of the way from the charge but was hit by the tail immediately afterwards. This sent her suddenly tumbling against the ground rolling into a couple of barrels. She shook her head from the shock that had just hit her but quickly recovered yet at this point the beast had already been pursuing her yet this time was ready to leap clasp its teeth to her arm. With only one hand she thrusted her lance towards it in which it seemed to realize the sharp edge and point of the weapon and evaded the attack. The raptor jumped back and screeched high pitched getting itself ready. Alsa lifted herself finally off the ground with the time she had and moved her hair back from her eyes finally ready. She wasn't to sure of what the raptor would do next but she knew she wasn't dying by it today! The girl leaped towards a wall before pushing herself from it with force lunging lance first towards the beast. The raptor barely managed to evade only having its leg sliced through the side. The woman only caught herself by suddenly placing her hand against the ground to catch herself. Her eyes scanned the raptor's structure wondering what its weak points were in it all. The raptor thrashed around angrily as it hopped and thrashed it's tail destroying barrels in it's path. Suddenly it charged once more and Alsa did the same gripping her lance with two hands. She suddenly stopped halfway when she then managed to do a suprising thrust forward. The raptor had went right into the weapon as it's end came clean through the beast. Alsa panted and sighed at the end. The girl did enjoy the battle but she wondered how tough the other three unfamiliar monsters were. She kicked the raptor from her lance, allowing it to fall upon the ground. It was then when she realized a few hunters looking at her. Some smirked as if they could've done better others only nodded as if they were noting her skills down this didn't bother her until suddenly she saw the three idiots. The taru looked at her and then shook her head as if he were a little annoyed. He pointed the other way before saying something to his friends and they headed off out of sight. Alsa then decided to also begin heading off, there wasn't much time to rest when she had to try to win. The lancer followed the street until another alley way appeared. Instantly the woman grasped her lance and went in ready.

The second part

Alexander (Central)– The Alley Streets

As Alsa slowly entered the alleyway her arm slightly raised as she her palm touched the wall, dragging it along for only a few seconds. Her foot seemed to step into small puddle of water on the ground as she made her way forward. It was quiet in her area yet battles around her were able to be heard. The Cremiere's eyes shifted examining the space between the buildings, a little similar to the other alley but it was no surprise she was still in the same district. The girl scratched her head through her blue hat only to the re-arrange her hair that was moved in the process. Only about fifteen seconds in she could hear the footsteps of a few participants behind her. She turned her head towards the entry way of the alley only catching the feet of those who passed by and suddenly turned back and sighed. Gripping her lance as she continued only making it to another cross way in the alley she suddenly heard a growl from the west it only followed with a mountain wolf running towards her. Her eyes squinted as it closed in. Her grip tightened as she began positioning the polearm in her hands. The lancer's foot took a step forward as grinning as her other hand taunted the wolf who began to rush her and with that the battle began.

Alsa stood her ground as the wolf rushed towards her pushing himself from his hein legs as soon as he came into range. The Cremiere spun her lance once before jabbing through the monster tossing it to the side quickly by swinging it to the side. The creature was thrown into the wall only to get up and shake its head. The lancer eyes widened as she repositioned her lance. She could once again feel the adrenaline of battle rushing into her, ready to thrust again. Alsa stood examining the creature as it struggled slightly to stand. She knew the attack that was placed upon her was rather common sight seen from the wolves of Vidaria. However... what she did notice was that the skin was thicker then those of the forest she was from. The cremiere wasted no time to rush canine fiend with her eyes on its. The wolf once again leapt towards the girl only for her to bring her polearm up in a defensive position. Her lance taken by two hands only to position it just right before it snapped at her with its fangs. The attack was parried by the base of the spear only to be thrown off. It was only as soon as the wolf collapsed onto the floor that Alsa made her move thrusting her lance into the skull quickly twisting the end. The girl sighed rather disappointed that the battle ended so soon. She stretched before taking out her pipe after sheathing her spear behind her. Alsa's right hand held the pipe by two finger fingers as the left hand went to her side continuing down the west path that the wolf came from. She figured since one monster came from this direction, she may as well see if more tread there.

As the girl walked down the path only to hear battles in the distance. It was long until she read the end where she suddenly met the Taru and his gang he snickered before holding up four fingers. Alsa only shrugged holding up three. She wasn't ashamed by this... the fact that they had a party and she was only one person said something to the likes of them. In the distance the cremiere suddenly saw a Zu charging on its feet towards the taru. In an instant she pointed towards him and yelled out to him.

“Look out, Idiot!!”

He ddn't believe her and fumed towards her before turning around to prove her wrong only to be trampled upon the ground. His partners attempted to grab their weapons but were knocked back with a whip of the beast's tail. The talon's slowing dug into the small humanoid's shoulder as the Zu screeched towards the woman. The two guards shook off the hit after they lifted themselves off the ground. Alsa looked down at the lalafell and then two his accomplices. It wasn't long before she decided to help them out and charged forward. The Zu did the same not enjoying the threat the cremiere posed. The bird drew its neck back as it got close to his target before jerking it forward. This caused Alsa to immediately jump out of the way not wanting to get pecked by such a large beak. The girl then jabbed through it's large neck killing it instantly. Luckily through this action the Lalafell was saved but he showed not gratitude and walked off angrily, obviously humiliated. Alsa shrugged before walking away from the scene.

As Alsa ran the streets she saw no sign of any other monsters, she wasn't sure if she should head to the other districts or not seeing that they were a little far. One thing for sure though was that she wanted to get those last two monsters needed before meeting back to town's square. The cremiere's eyes wandered as she passed by the alleyways looking for signs of living monsters. It wasn't long until after not seeing any monsters she leapt into the sky landing upon a building. After landing she closed eyes sniffing the air and listening for the animal's sounds. Sadly it threw her off being in the city, it was too loud. The woman sighed adjusting her hair.

“I wonder who's going to win...?”

The third part…

Alexander (Central)– Stairs to the East Slums

This was it, the final place the girl thought she would wander into to conclude this festivals events. Alsa waved her hair back and sighed. Even if the lancer was right at the border between the two districts, she wasn't sure if she really wanted to take the steps. It wasn't the town that worried her but the sudden feeling that she needed to be in the central Alexander with as much time that was given. Alsa suddenly turned facing the large buildings behind her. Her gaze then looked down to the brick ground that had been painted in the beast's blood. The cremiere's eyes began to close as if in a she were contempt with the sight. It only followed with a subtle sigh before the lids that covers her irises opened. It was then when the teal eyes locked straight and the feet of the owner began to move. With her right hand gripping the lance tight, her left was the only one available to move her coat back in position from feeling the sleeve slide down from her right shoulder. The warrior moved forward ready for what awaited her.

As the cremiere walked back into the bloodshed district of central Alexander. She could smell the stench of blood upon the ground as she walked down the streets of the district. Occasionally her foot would step into small puddles of blood upon the ground in which she felt a few drops cross her ankles and through the walk she could only hear the steps of participants walking back towards the center. It was quite obvious by the sound their steps made in which she could pinpoint the directions in which they were going. Alsa noticed the taru and his group come from the alley, they gave no acknowledgement towards her and continued down the road towards the center. From their expressions they looked worn out. Alsa stood watching the three walk off down the streets and out of sight. It was only then when she began to hear drops as if pebbles were hitting her hat. She lifted her hand only to catch rain drops fall into her palm. The amount of drops increased and became heavy as she could hear it fall upon buildings in the distance. The woman's hand rose to adjust her hat as she began walking a little faster walking over small puddles of water that began to wash the blood from the streets and into the creases between the stones upon the ground.

As Alsa walked quickly through the streets and alleyways she too found herself heading in the direction towards the center of the district. The warrior found no sign of any creatures about and didn't feel like wandering anymore. Her legs held strong yet overall she was exhausted and didn't want to go forward with the event, especially when the challenge wasn't at all challenging as they made it out to be but it was tradition in Celnaria and to a point she felt happy about it. With a stretch of relief her eyes squinted as her hands and arms went into the air. Her left leg also stretched to the side slightly before repositioning itself. The moment only felt at peace for only a second before the woman began walking once more.

In the center of Alexander the goobbue was being placed into the cage until suddenly a bright pinkish aura fallen onto the creature and turned its rough skin dark and black. Suddenly the monster thrashed breaking the cage in the process with roars to follow. The crowd jumped in fear and some began fleeing. This only made the goobbue rush the benched areas in which they were. It didn't take him long to slash one of the support beams which caused some of it to collapse. The creature then knocked over some flames in which soon followed with the creature knocking the flame pillar down which began the flames in the center. It didn't take long for the flames to grow. two of the adventurers who didn't run grabbed their pistols they carried and shot at the monster but with only 6 rounds they began fleeing themselves only to be chased. The two men ran down the streets as the giant monster chased after them. Suddenly they saw Alsa and waved, gesturing for her to go away. She only then saw the monster crash through the side of the building which made her go wide eyed and took immediate action of leaping into the air quickly jabbing the monster as it went under her which got the monsters attention. The goobbue hit Alsa mid air which made her fall upon the ground only to tumble slightly. She got up from the wet ground wiping her mouth feeling some blood that was drawn and then noticed soon after that the creature was suddenly fixated on her which made her grip her weapon ready. She wasn't sure how she had to fight this thing but none the less she was ready and with a grin she spun her lance before holding it in front of her.

"Lets do it..."

A clap of thunder echoed into the cremiere's ear as her right hand grip tightened around the pole arm. It's spear readied to jab any foe bound to charge her. The warrior could feel the rain shower down upon her and by this point her clothing had been drenched, her fur wet and all at the same time the fog of the cold rain only slightly fogged her vision. In the ambience you could hear barrels in the alley way tipping over and rolling. Town people panicking from a far. Alsa knew this threat had to be taken down soon. The lancer looked the foe in the eye with only a light step against a small puddle in front of her. The goobbue watched carefully with only a snarl from its large mouth. It wasn't long until the Cremiere wanted to act because it was only seconds that the beast would. In the distance the girl could only see a what looked to be a another cremiere whom obviously isn't from Vidaria looking by his clothing and a viera whom showed signs of being a Vidarian citizen. She shook her head wanting to call out to them but didn't. The woman had decided to act and leapt backwards doing a flip before grasping the bottom of her lance. The dragoon than gave a slight battle roar as she charged forward, her feet barely touching the ground before attempting to strike towards the beast whom at the same point began to charge upon her. As the girl approached the beast she suddenly stopped. The water beneath her rose up only a foot from the friction before she leapt, only using her natural athletic abilities. When in the air the girl moved griped the pole arm tight as she adjusted it to where the spear was held as if it was a two-handed sword. Her elbows were right over her head as the arms were behind her. As she descended finally and Immediately she her lance down barely missing the goobue whom stopped just in time to look up and notice the attack alas was making. He roared at the threat ready to begin his attack.

The goobbue roared out releasing some spit towards the cremiere as his breath came out as well. He than and attempted In retaliation to Alsa's attack to raise his arm and strike down upon the cremiere who assaulted him and was about to land after her attack. His hand went across her face only to miss. Had the girl not evaded quickly by barely by falling she'd been hit. The beast picked himself up recovering his arm from the miss as he noticed the cremiere leaping backwards and spun her lance with her right hand as the left moved her hair back. The girl could only smile not expecting the battle to be this hard.

"Damn..hehe"

Her eyes moved upon the two near the scene.

"If you two are civilians I suggest you move from this area... Otherwise feel free to assist... this is no ordinary beast!" She exclaimed. She could only think it was foolish of them to attempt to tame such a thing. The two nodded and fled the field quickly. Alsa smirked and readied her weapon for what was next.

Jaspon tried desperately to catch his breath and push through the pain in his leg but it had overcome him. With slightly shaking hands from the adrenaline pumping through his veins, he parted the fabric at his legs and inspected the wound. It wasn't as deep as he had been expecting, hardly worth worrying about. It must have been the fear messing with him. He still had a slight limp, but it was much more manageable after a rest. Grabbing his staff from where he had placed it against the wall, he adjusted his hat to block the rain and continued onwards.

The sound of a resounding roar made him jump and raise his weapon ready for an attack that did not come. A woman's voice followed, along with screaming and yelling and running. 'The hell...?' he thought to himself as he began to move quickly, or as quickly as he could manage, to the chaos. He wove through streets listening for the more clues as to where he was heading. The sounds finally led him to the centre where a Cremiere stood with her weapon readied and waiting for a large grey beast which he did not recognise. Her small request for assistance to the participants went unanswered. Realising that this was no match for either of their skills alone, he lifted his staff.

Jaspon began to concentrate on his spell. The blood red crystal began to glow, flickering like the light of a candle, a warning for whomever the spell was intended for. He felt the power begin to flow through him, building from his core and pulsing out through his body into the staff. Heat grew on his hands. The crystal too emitted heat now, so hot it made Jaspon flinch as it came closer to his face. Drawing in breath, he focussed on the monster and willed the spell to hit. Gaining a better stance, Jaspon shouted the spell. "Fire!" He turned away as he saw light and felt the heat, praying it would hit the creature, and not his potential ally.

Alexander (Central)– Town Square

Alsa could once again hear the clap of thunder in that moment. Rain poured down from the skies only to land and soak the premiere's cloths as she stared at the creature before her. The goobbue head roared as it leaned forward showing all of its teeth that had been filled with blood lust. The girl's grip tightened as she noticed the two civilians out of sight as well as much of the others. Alsa could only given a chuckle expecting this. Suddenly the creature unexpectedly began running at her and with a smirk in response the dragoon rushed forward as well only to hear what seemed like a male's voice yell out.

"Fire!"

She stopped to turned to see a quick mana conjured fireball flow towards then passed her, stopping on impact against the goobbue. The Cremiere's had followed the spell every second until collision. It was then when she turned around quickly in surprised as she could hear the goobbue step back roaring. She looked back suddenly to see the mage who had casted such a spell and blinked immediately. His clothing looked rather familiar to her but she didn't let that stop her as she seemed to find a chance of attack. The clinched her first as a blue aura suddenly surrounded her. She then closed her eyes only to open them as they shined blue. After slightly kneeling the girl leaped into the air, possibly 20 meters and dived down with her spear landing right on top of the beast (JUMP). As soon as Alsa landed the beast screamed in agony thrashing and moving about before reaching up, grabbing alas and throwing her to where she was throw in Jaspon's direction. Alsa hit the ground and tumbled to Jaspon's feet where she began getting up before wiping her feet.

Black Mage (Level 2)

Alexander – Central Alexander

The black mage had been building up power to release another fire spell. Before it could be completed, Jaspon watched as the beast threw the Cremiere towards him after her attack. He stepped back quickly as she crashed to the ground in front of him, rolling ever closer. When she finally stopped, she began to pull herself up and wiping herself down. He took a tentative step forwards and lowered his staff as he peered at her, the light and heat from the crystal fading away leaving them defenceless to the on-coming chill of the rain. He could see no obvious signs of injury.

"This thing…. he has a bit of fight to him…" she said to the teen. He gave a quick nod in agreement before his eyes looked back to the monster.

Letting power flow through him once again, he started forwards a few steps and positioned himself into a more stable stance. The staff in one hand pointed towards his target, his other hand aiming to with his palm, he directed the magic towards the staff. The crystal once again began to glow a dark red bathing him in its flickering light, radiating heat as if there was a real flame dancing within. Feeling the reassuring heat on his hands growing stronger by the second, Jaspon adjusted his aim slightly and smiled. He breathed in deeply and threw out his hand and staff further.

"Fire!" The hand and staff recoiled from the force created as the ball of flames blasted from him, his body pushed back forcing him to steady himself with a step backwards despite his stance to prevent it. Raising the staff to the beast again, and taking a step back towards the Cremiere and turning to her, he prayed the spell would find its target or they could be in trouble.

"Are you hurt?"

The cremiere looked over to once she had got back into her attacking stance and looked over to the boy as she panted slightly exhausted as she looked to the beast before looking over to the boy who was shown to be conjuring another spell in the same stance as any black mage would. She recognized this stance when she had to join on Lancer missions in Vidaria which lead her to believe the boy was of the mage college. It wasn't long until he sent a ball of flame from both his hand and staff. She could feel the conjured heat as it erupted from the staff. Her eyes watched as the spell hurled blasting into the goobbue's face once more. The beast screamed in enraged and it was only then when the boy had asked the cremiere who was definitely ready, if she was hurt.

The girl shook her head before replying "Heh, was a good throw but I'm still good to go… Lets finish this…."

Another crack of lightning was heard in the distance, a few of the alexandrian's had came out to see the battle go further interested in the fighters who were conquering this beast within there walls. The cremiere took no mind to acknowledge them as she spun her lance in one hand before running up to the creature who charged her as well from the aggressive attempt in reaction. The Cremiere slid beneath the creature and immediately used her back before rolling herself up. As the beast began to turn around she immediately jabbed her spear into the side, hearing it roar in pain. The goobbue swung around back handing Alsa. The cremiere tumbled back as the hand of the creature knocked her back slightly before repositioning herself for the next move.

"Let's end this shall we!"

The crowd that had gathered roared as they knew it was about to fall soon.

Alexander – Central Alexander

A crowd had formed around the two as they neared the end of their battle with the beast, all gazing onto the group with anticipation for the final blow that would take it down. With a quick glance - as quick as he could afford to give in the current situation - he picked up some details form the crowd. People of all races and social status were watching them, roaring like the monster itself, cheering and calling to them. While it seemed to spur on his apparent ally - the Cremiere Dragoon - it only made Jaspon nervous. True as it was that they were likely to defeat their target, anything could happen that could tip the balance in favour of the monster. So much was riding on them. Perhaps, even, the safety of those now putting their faith and confidence in. It was an unsettling thought for the young teen black mage.

Pushing all of those thoughts from his mind with a slight shake of his head, the mage pulled the hat from his head and let it drop to his side. The icy downpour assaulted his senses, but forced his mind to refocus. Lifting his staff, Jaspon began to gather power to himself. The crystal bathed him once more in a sinister red light. His eyes watched the light flickering within the blood red gem like a real fire. The dancing fire within had always fascinated him more than anything about the staff. The familiar heat stung his palms and warmed his shivering body as it endured the rain. He held the staff out with one hand and narrowed his eyes at his target. With a faint smile, he let loose the flames with his verbal command of "Fire".

The staff once more recoiled back, stumbling him slightly, but he recovered quickly. The crowd gave a deafening roar as the burst of fire flared into existence and soared for the creature. His eyes once again looked up to them. Some watched him, still standing there after just casting his spell, the heat leaving him and his body once again shaking. Others watched the flames as they danced on their route to the creature. More still watched his ally. He still wasn't entirely sure what to think of her. He had only met her - if that could really be called meeting someone - moments before when she had been sent flying to his feet. Though, at that current time, he didn't really care of her character. So long as she didn't try to kill kill, then there would always be time later for them to introduce each other properly.

By this point Alsa could hear the crowd around them roar louder then the rain that fell upon them. She couldn't even hear the sound of there spells and weapons clashing. Adventurers who could've been helping stood in awe as the two took the thing on but she really didn't care and wasn't about to call out to them again. She was too busy anyways with the burned goobbue. The girl sighed ready to end the creature and before long the creature once again became Engulf in flames. Finally seeing the opportunity the girl rushed over and leaped into the air swinging her polearm down gashing across the face of the beast who roared out and fell to the ground shortly after.

As soon as the cremiere landed, she fell back and sighed as she rested upon the ground catching her breath. The crowd roared as soon as they saw the beast not moving. Some came to the dragoon but she only moved her hand as she mentioned for them to back away. Before looking over at the beast who seemed dead. The rain seemed to slow down becoming a mere drizzle and things seemed to lighten up as people clapped. She only guessed to some that this was merely part of the event but to Alsa, she personally didn't know what to think at this point. That thing just seemed too enraged as well as the creature being used as a display during the parade. She shook her head trying to figure it all out but suddenly the beast's body began to glow and everyone gasped and pointed. Some mentioning to look over in the direction. Alsa turned her head before moving her hair from her eyes as what seemed to be dark essence flowing from the creature's body. (Jaspon If you look over, you may recognize this from your training in the dark arts. Forbidden dark magic). Alsa the noticed as she stood and backed out of the crowd black robed man standing near the entrance to the alley way. She squinted slightly and what seemed to be as a soon as he was noticed he turned and walked away. This same man whispered speaking in Jaspon's mind. "You've grown strong... but..."

Alsa then began running towards the area to see whom this suspicious figure may have been but once she reached the entrance he was gone. It was right after this moment when suddenly the area had been shaded in darkness. Everyone in that moment noticed a big airship, very unusual in its size and the design was incredible to some eyes. Alsa looked up and noticed the ship heading west and it was only a short amount of time before it had went across the city only to disappear from ground level eye sight.

"What..in the world...?"

Mobobo had been watching the events unfold and even did a bit of fighting during the tournament just to defend her own. She had no interest in the whole thing excluding when she finally made it to her destination (Central Alexander). The woman simply traveled searching for answers and clues and to this day she finally got something she asked for. Before the fight began, the taru simply followed the robed man silently observing and she did in fact see the possession of the beast but because the creature wasn't important to her. She shrugged it off watching from a far. It did interest her when she saw the two heroes fighting the creature especially when she noticed a family face being the cremiere, she never did meet the girl when it happened but someone even more so familiar was Jaspon, she never had him as a student or so but she did in fact know he was a student of the college. The girl observed there fight, feeling at times that the lancer needed healing but she didn't want to blow her cover quite yet.

It wasn't until the end of the fight when everything began, the woman walked out and some people gasped as they saw the cloak upon the tarutaru. They went silent as the woman walked passed everyone and looked up at the creature's dark aura lifting and depleting. The girl looked over to Jaspon and pointed. Everyone's head followed.

"You're a student of the dark arts... Do you recognize this? If I'm not mistaken this is forbidden which means obviously we have a rogue around here but that's aside the point" she said as she noticed the cremiere began to chase after the robed man. She then walked over to the boy.

"We should probably follow--" Suddenly the area became shaded as she looked up into the sky. Her eyes went wide as she noticed the airship which she had in fact seen once before fly above her.

"S-so... it is true..."

Jaspon jumped at the wall of noise that hit him as the crowd roared upon their defeat of the beast. He looked to the crowd trying to smother a grin badly. Soon he gave in to the smile and beamed up at the crowd and contestants around them applauding their win. He tapped his staff to the ground and ran a hand through his soaked hair before picking up his hat, shaking it off and looking to the Cremiere. She looked exhausted from the fighting. As a mage, he was used to staying in the back lines so it wasn't taking quite as much of a toll on him. He looked up into the sky and closed his eyes as the rain slowed to a weak drizzle, the gentle patter of tiny drops feeling good on his skin.

Returning his gaze to the Cremiere woman, he began towards her. He managed only a couple of steps before a dull light illuminated the scene. The body of their enemy was glowing with a faint light. In any other situation he would have passed it off as natural. But in the pit of his stomach he could feel that something wasn't right. His eyes lingered on the body as a dark essence began to rise form the dead body. Jaspon took a step back suddenly, his jacket whipping back, and sucked in a sharp breath which caught in his throat. 'Dark magic? But that's forbidden.' Just as he thought this, a voice whispered in his mind making his body lock up and icy fingers to travel up his spine.

"You've grown strong... but..."

The black mage looked around for what - who - he knew was near. He just slightly glimpsed the sight of black robes disappearing into the crowd. The Cremiere followed after him quickly. He frowned slightly watching the essence fade away in the air. 'Mauv... What are you doing?' Movement in his vision brought his mind back. A Tarutaru, only three feet or so in height, was watching the essence as it finally faded away before them, the light now gone. Her gaze suddenly shifted to him and her finger lifted in his direction. His eyes widened slightly and his eyebrows pulled together with worry.

"You're a student of the dark arts... Do you recognize this?" He nodded and opened his mouth to speak, but her words cut in before his. "If I'm not mistaken this is forbidden which means obviously we have a rogue around here but that's aside the point." He frowned slightly. Interrupting was bad enough. But interrupting after asking someone a question was just plain rude.

The Tarutaru stepped in his direction. She barely got her words out before a shadow passed over them. Another drop in Jaspon's stomach made him only feel worse about the situation. Taking a deep breath, he lifted his gaze to the sky. An airship, unlike any had ever seen, flew above them, temporarily blocking the rain. His jaw dropped open. A voice at his side made him look down.

"S-so... it is true..." the Tarutaru muttered. Jaspon frowned again, looking quickly between the airship and the woman. He was confused, to say the least. It was bad enough that he had to deal with his old friend. Now there was even more to handle. This was probably not what his mentor, the TaruTaru, Mototo-Koroko, had intended for him when he sent him off to Alexander to explore the world and gain some experience.
"If you don't mind my asking, Ma'am, what is true?" he asked politely. He needed more information if he were to do anything.

Alsa, like the res of the town looked into the sky which had been shrouded by the dark structure among. The massive object that no one would know of other then those who lived over a hundred years or retain history well. The citizens of Alexander stood in awe, gasping and point yet she, the dragoon, could hear the crowd behind her although to the ears it rang of ruckus. Only a few questions and comments flew among them as the ship floated over them. It hadn't swayed her thoughts completely, however this only drove her to believe the three events were connected but "for what?" she wondered. The dark magic, the shrouded man, and the mysterious airship heading west were all floating over her head. Eventually she brought her palm to her head shaking it. The voices of the people weren't helping. Soon her hands formed fist only to tighten in frustration before looking back with her head slightly turned after lowering it and a sigh followed. Her body then turned to face outside of the alley way and she could see the guards of the city and some of the beast master guild representatives collecting the corpse of the beast and talking things over. It only made her scratch her head before making her way out.

Mobobo turned to look at the human and positioned her arms only to set her chin among her right hand's finger and had her left had holding her right arm's elbow. She did a humming gesture to the boy and only giggled. The woman did indeed have a want to express her joy in finding the information that she so desired but she was by no means going to give the information such as this to anyone. Let alone a "thaumaturge" (A student of the black arts) who just began an adventure. What the taru would do however would definitely be something she could entrust or ask perhaps.

"Well… There is a bit going on and I figured there had been a bit of trouble with a few rogue mages running about which lead me here… intuition seemed right once again. I do hope they taught you the difference between rogue mages and adventurers who are mages yes? Need'th I explain myself and those differences to similarities I will. Do not think just because I am Taru by the way, it is odd i do not speak as though I am one but aside and getting back to topic. There is little to be known even to me young one." Mobobo said as she looked and observed the scene. Watching the people as there attention was upon the ship that nearly seemed to be right above them at this point. It was getting a little louder then what she personally enjoyed. She gave an annoyed grumble but didn't express too much other then gesture for a second with her mouth. The woman then turned back towards the boy.

"Well let's join the girl shall we?" She said with a small clap before walking her way. Her hands gave a small clap as she walked passed the people which only a few looked towards the woman in that moment to see what it was about. The airship had passed over and the some of the citizen's were still stunned. People were still asking questions and guards trying to keep things civil and calm. It wasn't long until the small taru finally made her way out of the packed area. As she neared the alleyway she passed by a empty festival stall that held nothing of too much interest and a couple of guards talking among themselves. After passing by the two, they appeared to end there conversation as one ran into the other direction and the other walked towards the crowd. Finally the girl made it to close to the alley's entrance as she began to speak.

"Had I not witnessed it, It's quite a sight indeed! A legend reborn… quite a representing sight. Interestingly I had my own things to deal with and a lack of care, not to say you weren't important but to get back on topic. I would like to ask you… what did you see…?"

As the Taru giggled, Jaspon's lips pressed together into a thin line. Pursing his lips, he turned his head away and tried to block her from his mind. He had more important things to worry about. Most importantly, Mauvelant. 'Why is he here?' Jaspon thought with a frown. 'Did he follow me?' Jaspon shook his head and tried to think. Before he could get far, a familiar, annoying voice drifted into his ears.

"Well… There is a bit going on and I figured there had been a bit of trouble with a few rogue mages running about which lead me here… intuition seemed right once again. I do hope they taught you the difference between rogue mages and adventurers who are mages yes?" Jaspon took a deep breath and fought with himself to remain silent, swallowing down a rude retort. 'No, they just sent me out into the world and hoped for the best,' he thought instead to himself.
"Need'th I explain myself and those differences to similarities I will. Do not think just because I am Taru by the way, it is odd i do not speak as though I am one but aside and getting back to topic. There is little to be known even to me young one." His eyes narrowed slightly. 'We're not going to be getting along, I can see it now.' Something in the way she rambled on and the little things she said just put him completely off of her.

"Well let's join the girl shall we?" the old girl asked him with a clap, not that he was getting much of a choice anyway as she began into the crowd. Shaking his head, Jaspon reluctantly followed her. As they walked through the crowd, he would occasionally look to the sky while his mind went through everything. Mauvalent was back. He had dabbled in the dark arts, though Jaspon could see no reason why. Mauv was already a strong mage, stronger than Jaspon. Why then was he so power-hungry? The mage shook his head and looked to the sky again. And he had been there, all the time Jaspon was fighting. He had been watching his every move, studying his weaknesses. And yet, Jaspon had not seen him anywhere in the crowd. The images of figures standing, cheering, screaming, all flashed through his mind as he sorted them based on race, job and social status. But not one matched his old friend.

When they finally reached close to the entrance to the alley, the black mage hadn't even noticed. It was only an irritating voice below him that managed to finally pull him from his thoughts.
"... legend reborn… quite a representing sight. Interestingly I had my own things to deal with and a lack of care, not to say you weren't important, "he rolled his eyes and looked at the alley entance, "but to get back on topic. I would like to ask you… what did you see…?"

Jaspon sighed at her question. What had he seen? Dark magic. His old friend, now enemy. A mysterious airship. He waited a moment before answering, his lips pursed, as he watched the taru, considering how much he would be willing to share with her. For her to get all the information she asked for, she would have to give him the information he had requested first. Drawing in a quiet breath, he spoke.
"I doubt my account will vary much from your own. I saw dark, forbidden magic, a robed man and an airship, just like the rest." Jaspon glanced to the Taru and back to the alley. "I'm not sure what the ship was for," he swallowed silently, "or who the man was... but I know that the magic he wielded should not be used by anyone with sense left in them." 'What were you thinking Mauv...? he though with a sigh.

Turning fully to the alley, he began towards it after the Cremiere, his strides long and determined. He doubted that his robed adversary was still there but the mage could at least ask the woman if she had seen anything to give him a hint. He resisted the urge to glance back at the three foot taru. If she had followed him, she would at least be more concerned with keeping up with him than talking. He smiled to himself, and continued on.

When he finally reached the dragoon, he lowered his staff further than it had been and held out his cleared his throat quietly to get her attention but not scare her. He stepped forwards and lifted the hat from his head.
"Greetings. My name is Jaspon Morgan," he said with a slight smile. "I was wondering..." he hesitated, then tried again. "I was wondering if I could take a moment of your time to ask about the man you chased."

Jaspon left the question open for her to answer as she wished. He placed the end of his staff on the ground and leaned his weight against it slightly waiting patiently.

As Alsa made her way from the alley way she could only pick up on the words of the small Tarutaru, especially when mentioning the words "legend reborn". Its not like the cremiere had been completely bothered by being called out but she definitely did not want the attention. In a way as she looked towards the two walking towards her, she felt an sense of nostalgia but couldn't place her finger as to why. The woman seemed all to familiar yet at the same time she never met her but then it clicked in as to why as she noticed the robe being worn. The girl silently moved forward towards them as the question was posed.

"What did you see...?"

It seems the boy thought the question was directed upon him and answered it quickly. Alsa only sighed before speaking out.

"I believe she meant me..." She said as the boy lowered his staff. She never was able to observe the boy up close due to being in battle but the scent that the boy had was definitely of Vidaria. It only brought her to think that he was of the college. There is no other solution to this ideal especially when being so young. At least that is what Alsa thought that is. The girl tipped her hat slightly before re-adjusting and in that moment introductions began. The boy who identified himself to be "Jaspon Morgan" didn't stop although stuttered in hesitation to ask what she saw. The woman could only scratch her nose before turning towards the west only seeing the airship getting smaller by the second.

"Nothing... I can't say but It may had just been my imagination to see a mysterious figure walk off. Once I turned to corner he was gone. These events... I'm not sure if they were intended or not. I've never seen such a airship either which leads me to wonder if its a Garrom model. Technology seems to always be rising there" Alsa replied. She couldn't help but try to fit clues in. She herself knew that the Goobbue couldn't had been planned but the other two just seemed so unusual. The girl began walking pass them only to stop looking out to the crowd in thought.

Mobobo only sighed as the boy replied yet she did notice a few things when he began to speak. One thing was obvious that it did in fact affect him emotionally. She couldn't quite tell what it was though but these thoughts only halted as the cremiere began to speak. To the tarutaru, nothing that the cremiere said was useful. A mysterious if not a normal interesting style'd attire that could be foreign caught her eye and she caught suspicion among the crowd or else the man just didn't feel safe and wandered off. However it was the end that got her attention in the slightest for a man to simply disappear after turning the corner and goobbue's were not like the Malboros whom toxic breath will give you every daunting effect that even a white mage has to struggle to extract.

The woman was thinking to herself as they talked among themselves but couldn't quite pick out as to why the boy was so obsessed in this case. He is young and there is no way a boy of his age could be involved in such a person if not a rogue mage right? This was only what she was thinking until it may have clicked to her.

"I have a bit of a case on my hands. Thaumaturge Jaspon, what is making you so obsessed with knowing whom this person may be. Is there something you may want to clue us in on and why now did you come here to search for this person? Its not to pry personally but this bit of information may help me in the long run and to you dragoon if not both of you. I believe you are the champions of the festival, quite an achievement. How about we collect your reward and we'll speak about this further, although I can sense you two are rather cautious of my presence to the least although we have all been rather close. I feel there is a few things you will want to hear.

Alsa, Jaspon, and Mobobo walked to the stand which they collected not only a reward for the tournament but a reward for saving the city although they made it seem as if it was all in one to not stir up the citizens. The city relatively returned to enjoy the festival although the alley way had been blocked off to be under construction and repair. The three went to a near by tavern and sat down only for a moment in the far right to only to for the most part listen to what the taru had to say.

"For the most part, I'm glad you followed, I am Mobobo... however Introductions is not the reason I called. No.. the reason I am telling you two is because you two are the only ones who noticed something about this tournament else there'd be many in our position questioning these events. Even some of the other adventurers are frightened yet haven't noticed anything of these events. So what I will say to catch you up is that recently there have been a few rogue mages and I have taken it upon myself to seek out as to why." Mobobo began sighing in her seat as she grabbed the cup with both hands and rose it up to drink some of the juice given to her.

"You know, I don't know too much on this and I really don't think I should take any detours yet... It does rather interest me. Mainly what dawns me now is that the one legacy chosen White mage stands before us. Is this what the three mages have been dealing with recently?"

"Oh heavens no! I separated myself from the council and have been at it alone... The council holds me back from discovering the truth of what happens outside of our own world. We simply govern magic and strive to keep the source at balance yet, as a white mage i went beyond my duty and even driven young ones to higher potential and eventually I made- ... Lest I keep that from you two for now what comes now though is that --" Mobobo stopped suddenly hearing the doors of the tavern suddenly slam open. She turned her head slightly seeing four guards and it's captain walk in and suddenly call out.

"I hear the two adventurers and the former white mage walked into this tavern! Please reveal thy selves immediately!" He said loud.

"We are but right here captain" Mobobo said standing with a wave.

"The three of you have been summoned by the duke himself. We will wait for you outside to escort you" He said before walking out with the four guards.

"We best get to it.. don't want to stir them up yes?" She grinned the two.

Jaspon looked away and sighed. She had a point. The information that he held may very well aid her if she knew as much as she let on about whatever it was that was happening in the world around them. He closed his eyes and sighed again. Was it really wise to tell her of Mauv? Would she think differently of him for being so passive with his friend? So blind? 'What the hell do I care what she thinks?' Jaspon barked at himself in his mind. She had appeared out of nowhere and expected him to just follow her like an obedient pet. She would soon come to find that he was not one to be irritated. He turned his eyes back to her and considered for a moment, taking in every detail of her and storing it in his expansive memory. As much as he wished it would be, this was no time to show her his true feelings. Instead, he drew in a breath and spoke.

"I wasn't entirely honest," he hesitated, "about the man. I do..." Jaspon sighed and corrected himself. "I did know him. He was a close friend of mine from a long time back, but... he started to be influenced by the idea of power and sought out a way of increasing his strength. I was hoping to find him again, to talk some sense into him at the very least if I could, but now I've finally accepted that he is beyond saving if he is so willing to turn to dark arts."

When the Taru suggested going elsewhere to discuss the matter further - which Jaspon guessed was more likely to be himself and the Cremiere listening to her as she babbled on - he happily accepted. Their journey was somewhat short, stopping only once for their reward. He accepted it with a faint smile and a sincere, but quiet, "thank you".

Jaspon vaguely took in what the Taru - Mobobo - was saying while he scanned the interior of the tavern over his tankard. the people within were mostly adventures of all ages and races. The details of each seeped into his mind and remained. Once again, he began to sort through every face in an attempt to identify his - now - enemy. He found no one even coming close to match Mauvalent. Sighing, he took a small drink, noting the possible exits. Just as his mind began to register and make sense of the fact that Mobobo had been in the council of mages - something he really ought to have realised - the door of the tavern burst open. His eyes fell on the armoured bodies of four guards and their captain. The latter called out for them. Before he could even take another breath Mobobo had leapt from her seat with a wave to thee group, revealing their position.

"The three of you have been summoned by the duke himself." Jaspon's eyes widened at this. "We will wait for you outside to escort you." The captain walked out, the guards following obediently.

"We best get to it.. don't want to stir them up yes?" Mobobo said through a beaming grin. With a roll of his eyes Jaspon grabbed his staff, hat and bag, and started for the door behind hind his companions. The Duke no doubt only wanted to congratulate them on their win and thank them for saving the city. Though, it could very well be something more. Perhaps someone else had seen and understood the dark magic. Perhaps that was what he wished of them, a report of the incident. It seemed more likely than to simply thank and congratulate them, something so small in comparison to other, more important, things. Regardless, it would most certainly be interesting to watch how the exchange between the Duke and Mobobo would unfold.

Alsa and Mobobo quickly went to the exit of the tavern where they could feel multiple stares and glances of those enjoying there drinks. Alsa could hear a few whispers here and there but didn't bother to stop. In truth she had no idea what to expect or think at this point. To a minimal interest, she was rather curious of what the duke would want with them and what also got her was the fact that it was only a short while and suddenly the duke calls out to them. Perhaps he was close by? She grumbled slightly not as though anyone could hear it over the people talking. Mobobo on the other hand had been expecting such news especially when she's the one who made the appointment originally to begin with. It was on fortunate that these two were also asked to come along but she didn't quite see it as a hinderance. The small woman walked quickly ignoring the others and mind set on what she would open the conversation with when they made it to the duke. It only came so quick noticing they had just walked out of the tavern and were standing in front of the guard.

“Well let's get this over with, there is much to discuss” Mobobo said.

Alsa only shrugged obviously having no idea what it would be the duke would want. The guards quickly did a bow and began walking in the direction of duke's palace, assuming all three of them were following. The citizens stood clear of the guards and there followers giving more looks and stares curious of what could be going on. Children tugged on there parent's cloths and pointed curiously. Alsa just felt like jumping passed all of this and avoiding it all but knew she couldn't disrespect the guards of the duchy and needed to walk with proper etiquette. The walk was indeed a good one especially when they reached the stairs but eventually the sighs of relief came from Mobobo and Alsa when they reached the duke's palace and walked straight into the throne room.

“Ah! White Wizard Mobobo, I welcome thee to my palace, we're also quite lucky to have you be in our city when you were. To be quite frank I wasn't expecting all of these interesting events to take place but-” The duke began in a loud voice only going softer as the heros approached. The guards stood near the door excluding the captain who continued in front of them and then went to the side and out of the way.

“Yes, yes... I'm also glad you were free, listen and listen well for you are the mediator of the nations. I know you to also be quite a scholar which is quite fascinating and rather promising as the duke of this duchy – so you know what that airship was yes?” Mobobo quickly said.

“Yes... There was only a single picture in a book I have of fascinating airships of the war and fear grew when I saw that flowing over us and heading east... To catch you two up in case you were curious, that ship was known as “The Ark”. An interesting name isn't it?”

Alsa's eyes went wide as the name for some reason gave her chills. It was an indeed interesting name and rather powerful. Mobobo had a similar feeling although she did recall seeing It during the war but only turned her head to the side without speaking of it. “Terror” was the only word she could think when she heard that name however she did bring herself back to the conversation quickly and looked towards Alsa and then to Jaspon.

“Supposably, that ship was the very ship Odin himself rode upon and it was that very airship that nearly was our end. The craftsmanship of the west is incredibly destructive and it's the forbidden art of what you may recall from some of your studies, Thaumaturge. “Magitech”.

“What is Magitech...?” Alsa asked slightly interested because she never heard of such a thing.

“Its basically technology that infuses Magical energy to create weapons said to match gods themselves. Its corrupt however like any technology it runs out eventually. Interestingly, Magitech was used many many years ago but the war was so devastating and nearly destroyed an entire continent they had to put an end and regress. Besides that, Magic still goes beyond Magitech limits yet... thats only when we're together. We have our limits” Mobobo explained.

“Correct – the reasons I called you two as well is because I have a very important task for you. I did make sure to write a explanatory letter for your superiors and I wouldn't do this for just any task. Things have become very dire but I believe you three.. are special for the task. Listen, I need you to act as ambassadors and do what you can for our nations protection. At the least all I can ask of you is to deliver these messages to the three nations. I personally feel that goobbue was a threat and a warning that war is coming but I can not act without hearing from our three leaders.” The duke said lifting himself from his chair and walking towards the left window as his hands crossed behind his back.

“If only the leaders of light were here, they would be an amazing contribution to all of this... I fear Odin didn't die that day and there is something to this you know isn't there Mobobo?”

The woman sighed.

“I tampered in the past yes, but there are certainties I have to confirm before I make a concrete conclusion” She said.

“Well... Lets get this over with. Lancer guild is probably waiting for my return anyways...” Alsa said.

“You'll sadly be stopping in Ahn'veria I'm afraid young lancer. My personal airship is preparing as we speak, If you're fine with what you have heard then please have the captain take you to the royal port and talk to Cid”

The captain looked side to side with his arms crossed waiting to see if anyone had anything else to say. Mobobo shook her head and Alsa shrugged without saying another word. They then turned to Jaspon waiting to see if he had anything to say.

“Supposedly, that ship was the very ship Odin himself rode upon and it was that very airship that nearly was our end. The craftsmanship of the west is incredibly destructive and it's the forbidden art of what you may recall from some of your studies, Thaumaturge. “Magitech”.

Jaspon's eyes widened at the word. First dark arts, and now Magitech? He closed his eyes and rubbed them with one hand, the other supporting his staff.
"Has all the sense graced to this world been abandoned?" he muttered quietly to himself, the end of the question flaring slightly louder as he pulled his hand away. Sighing, he listened to Mobobo explaining Magitech to Alsa, and the Duke's request. The universe would choose his first journey out into the world as a black mage to start a war around him. Why couldn't he have had more chance to prepare? He barely even knew any useful spells to defend himself with. As his frustration and panic began to build, a scorching heat formed on his palms, but it was painless. A red light washed over his as the crystal on his staff began to glow. He took a moment to compose himself, taking deep breathes, then turned his eyes to the staff. With a light tap on the ground, it faded away.

When he looked up, Mobobo, Alsa and the Duke were all watching him expectantly. For a second, he didn't understand why and squirmed under their collective gaze. Realisation dawned on him. He straightened slightly, standing to his full height. His eyes fell on the Duke. While most would be cautious of locking gaze with one of such status and power, Jaspon had little problem with it. He refused to be intimidated. Pursing his lips, he considered what would be best to ask. Wasting time asking many questions would not be appreciated by anyone, so one question that was more important than the rest would be his best course of actions. Nodding slightly, he drew in breath to speak.

"I have one question concerning the possessed monster we defeated," Jaspon asked, projecting his voice loud enough to be heard, but in a neutral tone, as if unconcerned whether he found out of not. "Do you have information on whom it was that was responsible?" If the Duke knew nothing of Mauvalent, then he would have more room to deal with him without interference. Mauvalent was his problem, and Jaspon felt that it was then his responsibility to take care of him if the situation called for it. The less people who knew, the better.

So long as he could actually deal with him. Jaspon shuddered at the thought, similar to how he had reacted to the Ark being named. And only if Mauvalent wasn't involved in whatever this was. Jaspon found it hard to believe that he wasn't - the evidence was damning - but there was still a small flicker of hope within burning strong. If he was involved, however, then he was everyone's problem, and Jaspon would likely have to change his stance on the matter. Deciding to worry about it if it came to that, Jaspon waited for the Duke's answer.

Alexander (Duke's Palace)

"I have one question concerning the possessed monster we defeated"

Mobobo and Alsa squinted there eyes slightly with focus as he continued his question. They knew to a point that it had to have been coming. The boy had been quite focused on that since it all started. Alsa sighed and began to gesture with her hand raising it up before speaking but was cut off by the duke himself who was still rather calm and patient. It wasn't that the girl felt completely senseless towards the boy and his friend but there was no real way of knowing who the person was when he was so cloaked. The duke grumbled slightly pressing his index finger to his head.

"mmm.. No, I'm afraid not, in fact I didn't get reports of anyone suspicious. The only thing we can accurately determine is that It was indeed a Dark Magic user. One other thing we may claim is that he or she may be a agent of Odin's army. This is alas another reason why we're heading too the other nations because perhaps they may have more knowledge then we know." He sighed before crossing his arms in thought. The man couldn't help but move his hand over his blond waved back hair.

Mobobo seemed to be lost in thought when the duke answered the human black mage at the point but she didn't reveal anything until she noticed the silence. She looked among everyone in the room including the captain and only shrugged to hear Alsa suddenly begin walking out. The Taru couldn't help but wonder why this girl was so mysterious in her own way yet she could see that the girl did have some mild interest.

"I guess that is our que" the white mage said. The captain walked out the door opening them wide enough for everyone and shortly stopped seeing Alsa waiting in the hall. Everyone else seemed to follow behind excluding the Duke who had went back into his train of thought upon his throne. The walking order seemed to change as the captain was now in front of everyone followed by Alsa, Jaspon and then Mobobo. It had been a relatively quick walk as they walked down the elegant red carpet. They would be able to acknowledge the radiant warmth of the light as they walked down the palace halls seeing pictures of the previous dukes and famous heroes. Eventually they finally heard the engine from a far and it only grew louder. The captain bowed once he reached the door to the royal port and allowed access for the three to go on without him.

When the three went up the stairs that had been in there pathway. A relatively tall man, wearing engineer gear and holding a toolbox walked up to them.

"Oi! She be ready to take on the eight seas of hell and best the winds of Garuda when we begin! The name is Cid and I'm happy to be of service. C'mon over lads and I'll start us up." He said only seconds later look down seeing Mobobo with a rather mad face.

"Oh! My my lassy, My apologies. I didn't see you standing there! You folk are small and my eyes are becoming weaker as I age!"

Mobobo shook her head walking passed the rest of the group with a shrug. Alsa couldn't help but giggle yet at the same time follow the white mage. Everyone seemed to walk into the ship and only moments later It had taken off.

two hours later (Halcyon)

The elvaan city of Ahn'veria spotted Cid's airship from a far and the knight who was on watch quickly made haste to the Queen. She was in thought at first but quickly after a few seconds made the decision to get the infamous Mercenary Guild of there branch to come forth. Moments at the guild hall, Halcyon did see the royal knights come in with the order before talking to the guildmaster of that branch. She did catch some of it but couldn't hear it all. After they left he comes to you and explains that "you are to escort Cid and anyone on that ship to the Queen". Surprisingly you knew that this job would only be for the better to increase your branch's reputation even if its something so small as this and don't have a problem with it too much. Soon after two other guild mates join you for this escort and you quickly go out to the port ready. Some royal knights look at you with smirks or so but nothing with too much hatred. After waiting about fifteen minutes the ship arrives and you and your two guild mates walk up with a good amount of distance between you and the exit of the ship. When the airship stops and five minutes pass, everyone walks out in this order: Cid, Mobobo, Jaspon, Alsa.

Alsa sighs as she intakes yet another atmosphere, relatively cleaner then Alexander but definitely city based area. The cremiere stretched with her eyes nearly closing only to notice the three in front of them. "Eh... A welcoming party...?" She thought to herself. Cid walked up observing the three. A Mi'qote, A Roegadyn and A Tarutaru, all in rather standard adventurer attire.

"There be a problem with parking her ere? I only hope I didn't come at the worst time. Either way, I'm only the navigator. Who you seek are these three. I am afraid that we did catch a minor storm with the wind so I'll have to do some inspections but please do come in if there is a problem"

Alsa and Mobobo shook there heads. Even to Alsa it was obvious the man didn't know whom he was talking to and being recognized, he must have had to see that they were not of the royal army. Mobobo finally rose her hand walking out a little ways as she motioned Cid to return to his ship which he did.

"He is right though, Whom might you be exactly, you do not where the royal armor so I do have to ask this and another reason is that.... You stand in our way" The Taru said.

"She is right... You see we're in a hurry so if you're just looking to try to pick pocket. You best stand aside"

"No no! We're not thiefy-weefies! We came to escort you to the Queen! Right? Tell them Halcyon!" The male taru said near the Mi'qote. The galka was just silent but nodded with his hands in front of him obvious he had no intention or want to fight.

Jaspon only nodded at the information. It failed to improve his mood. He had hoped for someway of saving his friend, but that spark within had been extinguished. It had withered and died at the Duke's words. 'So, he's working with Odin.' The teen was at least reassured with the knowledge that no one knew who it was other than himself. Not even Mobobo or Alsa. while he had given a little information, there was still some hidden which protected the identity of Mauv. Following the others, a thoughtful look on his face,
Jaspon let his mind wander to wherever to led to. His mind returned only briefly to smirk at Cid's comment on Mobobo's height before slipping back into his thoughts.

For almost the entire ride on the airship, Jaspon stood leaning on the railings, looking off into the distance and wondering why his mentor had ever decided to let him go off into the world. While eager to see the world, and experience magic in real life situations, he had tried, and failed, to convince his mentor to reconsider. Despite knowing he was ready concerning his magical knowledge, he didn't feel ready to take on the world. It just didn't feel like his time. Pushing his thoughts away, he instead focused his mind on the view before him until the ground once again came in to clear sight.

Ahn'veria

Jaspon stepped out after Cid and Mobobo cautiously to meet the strangers, his staff raised slightly, a faint glow coming from the crystal as his hands warmed. It was not a very reassuring sight, though they were currently equal in numbers. 'But are we equal in strength?' Jaspon asked himself with a frown of worry. After Cid left them, Jaspon stepped closer to Mobobo. She may be annoying, but as a white mage her fighting capabilities were limited so she might need some help if things got bad. He didn't relax, but lowered the staff slightly, it's glow still covering the mages.

"No no! We're not thiefy-weefies! We came to escort you to the Queen! Right? Tell them Halcyon!" Jaspon followed the man's eyes to the girl in their group. She didn't seem very combat ready, but he knew from experience not to judge someone's fighting ability based solely on their appearance. He narrowed his eyes slightly, noticeably, but not maliciously.
"Do you really expect us to take your word? We know nothing of you. How are we to know this is not some trick?" He wanted to believe them, but a familiar caution danced at the edge of his mind. The black mage readied his staff slightly, as subtly as he could manage given the situation and its warning light. If anything were to happen, at least he'd be ready. He awaited their answer.

Ahn'Veria

Noticing the group's discomfort, Halcyon took a step forward with her empty hands clearly displayed. "We no harm. We mercenaries from Ahn'Verian guild branch. Friend is telling truth. Our Queen asks you come and we get you there safe." Halcyon paused for a moment to consider the newcomer's positions. They didn't appear aggressive, merely defensive. She desperately hoped that this meeting would go smoothly. Already, townspeople thought she was a useless addition to the guild, being a small female. Perhaps she could display her diplomatic ability when dealing with travelers. "Everyone on ship come along, a man name..." she paused again trying to remember the name, "...Cid."

She glanced around the faces of the three remaining ship members, her face honest, gauging their aggressiveness. Halcyon swallowed hard, this wasn't the first time that she had an escorting missions. Those were fairly common for her. However, there was something different about this group in particular that she couldn't place. They seemed more important than the minor nobility that she had dealt with in the past. Their clothing mildly reminded her of travelers, but then again, Halcyon wasn't one to keep up with all of the fashions in Ahn'Veria, let alone in the other lands.

"Please follow me. We lead you to castle and then you go along with you plans." Halcyon smiled at the group, awaiting their reaction. Their defensive weapons were beginning to make the vulnerable Miqo'te nervous. The Mercenaries were to always be on guard, but she wanted to show them that they honestly meant no harm. Reaching for her sword now would only cause unnecessary alarm.

Ahn'veria (Port)

Alsa began reaching towards her spear at this point squinting to the three in front of them. She wasn't sure what to think about this. They dressed merely like adventurers to her and seemed to have different sets of attire. The cremeire wasn't buying it but at the same time she never once stepped into this city, in fact this evening proved to be rather adventurous and full of unexpected events. It was only eight hours ago (real time) that Alsa stepped on to the steps of Alexander for the first time and now she finds herself taking a detour on the duke's behalf and much she doesn't want to stepping in Ahn'Veria. What a story she will have to explain when returning to Vidaria. That aside, she wasn't quite sure to be alert or just absorb the culture shock of the area. It began to click into her and wonders began stirring "Were there actual guards?". In Vidaria much of the protection of the city were divided among the scouts guilds and lancer guild. Could it be that she was merely overseeing such a thing and these were also the protectors of the city and peacekeepers? Alsa began retracting her hand from her weapon in this moment but didn't say anything towards them. Mobobo on the other hand was in thought on this as well.

The Taru by no means didn't expect a welcome party but usually It was by the Royal Guard. The taru held out her hand and shook her head.

"Well Hold on-" Mobobo began until suddenly hearing footsteps from behind her. Alsa and her turned there head's slightly seeing Cid walk out as he spoke.

"Ah! So that's who ye are lass! I thought I recognized ye. Haven't seen ye since you were a young... "Cub"? How Is old man Eberstark? I see he's trying to improve the Ahn'verian branch and I can only hope you were sent to be the leader!" He chuckled as he stepped in front of the three scratching his head.

"Cid..? Do you know these three?" Mobobo asked.

"Yes Yes! I'd say I've met them among my older days. It's been around twelve years or longer for this lass here. You've heard of the Mercenary guild ay?" He said directing towards the taru.

She scratched her head and frowned.

"Not exactly... well.. Its more like I just have no reason to pay attention to them... However, I have heard rumors of a branch having many failures. Perhaps this is it? This just makes me feel so much more confident in my survival through the elegant streets of Ahn'Veria!" Mobobo said with sarcasm at the end.

"Although..." She said walking up to the Miqo'te.

"I have a feeling this one... is actually a bit different from the other two standing.

Alsa rolled her eyes somewhat to her rude jest which she had been right but at the same time rather mean. She was use to it though, Mobobo was a very intelligent and blunt person which made her sarcasm come out all the more. Another thing she seemed to be right about was that this Miqo'te before them did have a different feel but she shrugged before speaking herself.

"you've yet to tell us who you are?"

"Ah! Her name... is...err..ehm.. Holly?! Yes Holly Right?!" Cid asked looking towards the Miqo'te pointing.

Alsa shook her head. It was obvious that the man guessed but what does she know for all she knew, it could've been right.

The taru next to Halcyon waved kindly "I'm Karoro" and the Roegadyn bowed "I'm Droc". Mobobo and Alsa only nodded. Cid saluted and then cleared his throat.

"Alsa" The lancer said.

"I'm Mobobo, A pleasure" Mobobo said. The taru crooked his eyebrow and went into thought placing his fingers to his chin. He noticed that she didn't speak like most.

"Listen lass, I'll need to work on me Airship and do a little maintenance before we head to the next city. If she is really in need of me, she being the queen 'erself. I'll go but for now please take these three for they are the ones who really need the 'tenttion. Oh and please be sure to make it quick. There is a bit at stake then normal" Cid said waving before walking into his airship once more.

"As he said, we are in a bit of a rush and he is un-needed for such a thing. I'm sure once the queen see's me. She will have a huge understanding"

"Let's just go and get this over with - Alsa said before walking towards the exit being impatient once more.

"Impatient as ever..." Mobobo said and everyone then seemed to follow along behind.

The walk was rather upsetting, Royal guards smirking yet most didn't care to even look. Over all and as Mobobo most suspected it was completely worthless having an escort through the city. One although there are more civil wars here then anywhere else, they are very kind to outsiders. Two, they were more then capable then defending themselves. They passed a bit of residence along the way, only to make it into the royal quarters which was far interesting to Alsa who the whole way seemed to be amazed by all the artistic buildings and castle ahead. Finally they reached the castle and were lead in by an actual royal guard, all the way to the throne room.

In which once entered they saw a woman sitting in her throne and what appeared to be a relatively young elf talking to her.

"Yes, yes... that is indeed valuable information. However, I'm afraid I need to decli-- Oh, my Olivert please go address and bring forth my guest... we may need to hold this discussion off for now..."

Jonathan hesitated, then lowered the staff, the crystal's light now no more than a dull flicker. There was still a lingering caution within him, but he felt that her words were genuine. He felt she was someone he could trust to a lesser or greater degree, at least in this situation. The exchange with Cid left him with a small smile. Following the others in, he allowed them to lead the the way while he lingered behind, viewing what he could of the Ahn' Verian castle. Everything around them was beautiful. But there was a distant doubt about this nation. A darkness hidden just beyond his view. Shaking his head, and passing it off as his tendency to panic, he continued after the others.

Now led by the royal guard, they entered into a grand throne room. At the furthest end sat the Queen. She spoke quietly with a rather young elf. Jaspon took a moment to take in every detail he could of the elf, then returned his eyes to the Queen. He couldn't quite determine what it was, but there was a growing feeling every time he looked to her form. It worried him. She worried him. Calling it paranoia again, he watched a she looked to them, whispered once more to her companion, then turned to the group. He moved his staff out of its position - halfway to battle ready - and willed the light to extinguish. It would not be a good idea to suggest a threat unintentionally. He waited for what would happen next.

Oliviert turned his eyes on the group approaching and swallowed down his words. There would likely be a better time to convince his Queen, and friend, but now was not it. He returned his gaze to her and inclined his head.
"At once, my Queen," he spoke quickly, turning with a slight frown. He began his walk towards the new comers with an appraising eye. A teenage black mage - no doubt a new adventurer, a Cremiere dragoon - who looked quite experienced, and a taru white mage, whom he recognised, but could not place. 'I'm sure it will come to me soon, when we are introduced.' Smoothing his expression into a charming, and welcoming, smile, he stopped not far from the group. He bowed gracefully, and then straightened.

"Welcome to Ahn' Veria, travellers. Her Majesty, Queen Sara'veilan, requests your presence. If you would follow me." He turned and began a slow walk towards the Queen. He had gotten on the wrong side of a Taru long ago by walking too fast for him to keep up with. He had no intention of making that mistake again. When he had reached the Queen, he gestured with his arm.
"May I now present, Queen Sara'veilan." To allow them to talk freely, Oliviert walked backwards out of their way, but close enough to hear and observe.

The young Miqo'te certainly enjoyed the company of the man named Cid. His friendly disposition planted a great smile on her face. She didn't remember him, but he obviously knew her and her companions. Though his reference to old man Eberstark confused her. She wasn't sure if he meant her father or uncle and she certainly wasn't the leader. Halcyon was still working on her understanding of the common language, but there was still a small barrier. She chose to offer a smile and a nod of the head.

Halcyon envied these travelers. Despite being a member of the guild for almost a year, she has never been permitted to leave Ahn'Veria. These people were obviously from different lands, having not heard of the Mercenary guild before. Her face pulled into a temporary frown as the small mage spoke of her branch's poor reputation, but was soon replaced by a blush as the woman's compliment registered in her mind.

Cid's attempts at her name were flattering, but incorrect. Upon the realization that she hadn't introduced herself, the young mercenary said, "Sorry, me name Halcyon."

The Roegadyn mercenary led the group to the castle. Halcyon walked along side the group. Despite the lack of threat to the adventurers, going by the book would only help the Mercenary guild. Once the group reached the doors of the castle, the royal guard took over the protection detail. Halcyon offered the guards a smile, their low feelings towards the guild didn't mean she had to be rude.

As the troop entered the throne room, Halcyon saw her mighty Queen adorning the throne. The monarch whispered with what Halcyon could only assume was a servant. The elf that had once held the Queen's attention approached the group and Halcyon straightened her posture and assumed her Mercenary presence. She was about to be in the presence of royalty and there was no way she would disgrace her family or the guild by looking sloppy.

She maintained her rigid manners, as they followed the elf to the Queen. Halcyon remained silent once the group had made their way across the room to the throne. Now was not the time for a loose tongue. Her eyes strayed from the glittering throne to the rest of the room. The girl had always thought of the guild as a castle of sorts, but the Queen's residents blew it out of the water. Halcyon could never hope to live in such an extravagant manner, especially with her guild's infamy. She was happy with her station in life most of the time, but on a rare occasion, she could find herself wanting more.

Mobobo and Alsa observed the young elf who addressed and introduced the queen of the nation. Alsa couldn't help but blush slightly hiding her face further into her longer white hair as she observed the elf. She couldn't help but find him attractive but all that ended when she found herself paused for a second as the group had already been walking down the isle towards the queen's throne. She adjusted her blue attire before walking forward rather quickly to first catch up and to not seem too rude in front of the queen.

Mobobo simply went with everything as all procedures go and say a word. As they made it to the queen she bowed along with Alsa when catching up.

"Do raise thy heads, I-- Hold on, would thee be from Cid's ship. I do not see him among you?"

"Yes, yes I'm afraid he's back doing maintenance but that aside it is we who you want to see" Mobobo said pulling out a letter and extending her arm to the side. Oliviert grabbed the letter and took it to the queen immediately who's eyes were squinted before her brow rose in curiosity. The woman sighed before opening this very letter and examined it's contents slowly. Mobobo took in her breath as she waited for the queen to finish and looked to the others. Alsa stood in awe looking around and to the queen, she's never been in such a place of royalty aside from the federation's high priestess chamber which even then was publicly available. Suddenly the queen sighed.

"Grim news... and here burn this in that plate Oliviert" She said holding the letter and pointing to the plate near her chair upon the stool to the right. Assuming it was done, the woman began speaking.

"To all who do not know I am Queen Sera'veilan, It is an honor to see you amongn us. I will address Cid later but to you all, the contents as I've said were grim but needed. The duke would be a fool to set into motion without our regards and... for them to see such a sight and experience unusual events at such a time.. I do not blame him... However my answer will have to be thought up and written to the least. Simply things are happening and to assume we'll be talking of war is just so daunting" She said rubbing her forehead with her fingers before observing each and every person in the room. Her eyes first went to Mobobo who she recognized and talked with a bit in the past. She found in odd how she wore her white wizard clothing even when she resigned. Next she went to Alsa, her eyes blinked seeing the blue attire and lance behind it. It was obvious she had been a lancer yet she had no idea she was the new Dragoon. The woman slowly but surely turned to Halcyon and her finger tips went to her lips.

"Perhaps.. before I give my reply you could do something for me." She said looking over to Oliviert and giving a sly wink.

"You see, you did come at a rather interesting time and It would be much help to me by doing this. My young elf here had just discovered something rather interesting and true for my reign. This only makes me want to move forward and do so, however... the problem is, I can not bare to send him alone as capable as he may be. I need you to follow Oliviert and go to "Trion's Tomb" Inside you may find a red stone... bring it to me"

Oliviert, you know there is a lot more to it then that but she pretty much said what they needed to know. Mobobo squinted and asked in curiosity.

"Just an ORDINARY red stone, my queen?" The taru said crooking her eye brow up.

Alsa couldn't help but feel slightly weighed down as the queen spoke. Something about her just felt powerful and as her eyes went to the throne it was well shown why too. She did look towards Mobobo when she asked if it was just a normal stone curious if she once again knew something that she was hiding to herself.

The queen shook her head before turning to Halcyon.

"You have your orders... as for you girl. I'm assigning you to this task as well... your companions will not be joining... I can't have more then three of you in on this but I can at least give you a good chance of redemption... So on that note, do you have any questions? If not Oliviert please tell them what you want them to know and then show them to the guest quarters. We will have them stay there tonight." She said before walking back to her throne and becoming in thought.

Oliviert took the letter and grabbed a candle, watching as its corner darkened and curled while the flames spread. He didn't particularly like acting as messenger and personal letter-burner, but she was his Queen, and his friend. Besides, he owed her lot from the many gifts and opportunities she had given. When fully burned, he left it and replaced the candle, coming back to the conversation just as it began to change to something he was involved with. The Queen winked slyly, and his lips curled slightly at the corner. He returned his facial expression before any could notice, he hoped.

"My young elf here had just discovered something rather interesting and true for my reign. This only makes me want to move forward and do so, however... the problem is, I can not bare to send him alone as capable as he may be." Oliviert stood up to his full height at her words, partly from pride, partly because he felt as if he had to prove something. As if she didn't think him capable at all and he had to prove her wrong. He scanned the crowd with his eyes, which fell on a pair of hazel orbs staring back. The young black mage frowned at him slightly, though not maliciously. He inclined his head politely. The teen returned the favour, albeit reluctantly, shortly after. They broke their eye contact. He couldn't quite tell if the teen was just being curious or was judging his strengths and weaknesses he was looking over. He looked up as the Queen spoke again.
"I need you to follow Oliviert and go to "Trion's Tomb". Inside you may find a red stone... bring it to me." Oliviert sighed quietly, barely audible. 'A little too vague for my liking, but I suppose it is for the best. We can't have them knowing too much.'

After her dismissal, Oliviert looked to the group and took a deep breath. Anything that needed spoken of could be discussed on the way to their rooms. He approached them, then turned with grace and bowed to his Queen. Straightening, he gave a quick charming smile to them all, then gestured for the group to follow and glided across the floor and out of the door towards the guest rooms.

Jaspon's eyes were darting every direction as the travelled towards their rooms. A tidal wave of relief had crashed into him upon leaving the Queen. He had felt uncomfortable bowing to the Queen like that, but he had swallowed his pride - something he found difficult - and bowed gracefully. Shaking off the feeling she gave him, he continued after Oliviert. He was keeping a decent pace, but slow enough for a Taru to follow comfortably. Jaspon had come to realise that this Oliviert, though seeming a decent man, was not all that talkative. He had barely said a word since leaving his Queen. Deciding to be the first to start one, he drew in a breathe to speak.

So, Oliviert... ?" Jaspon asked quietly, catching the man's attention. The elf looked over his shoulder with a quick smile and answered.
"Aristan. My name is Oliviert Aristan." Jaspon nodded at his words and gave his own name before continuing.
"So, what do you do at the castle? Obviously something related to the Queen, right?" He hesitated slightly at the word "queen" but managed to mask it enough for the elf to not notice. The same elf who looked now slightly uncomfortable.
"I'm just a Chemist," he said with a shrug. "However, my family..." he winced, though it would be hard to notice, he had learned to hide his reaction to his family a long time ago. "They have close ties to the Queen. We've been friends for a long time, so she trusts me to do the occasional favour for her." Jaspon nodded as Oliviert turned his eyes back to the front, the conversation over.
'Definitely not the talkative type...'

He considered trying to begin another conversation, but figured there would be plenty of time to learn about him. They were going to Trion's tomb together after all. His father had always said that you learned more of someone during combat, than in conversation. Once again side-stepping that train of thought, Jaspon turned his mind to reciting different spells he could remember reading of - almost every one thanks to his memory skills.

Ahn'Veria(Castle)

As the group came to a halt in front of the Queen, Halcyon bowed in time with the other members. A swell of pride filled her chest at the thought of being in front of the queen. Once given permission, she righted herself and resumed her mercenary stance, only to have it broken by her slight smile.

While Queen Sera'veilan went on to welcome the strangers, Halcyon listened carefully to the new information. Her uncle was careful to shelter her from the brunt of what happened outside of Ahn'Veria. She had long suspected that he never assigned her missions that would take her too close to the borders for fear that she would learn of the ongoings of the world. To hear the Queen speak of war and unusual sights made Halcyon yearn for the outside world. She wanted nothing more than to go out into the unknown and bring glory to her guild, but she was given small, manageable assignments that bored her.

Halcyon stirred out of her personal musings as she locked eyes with the Queen. Immediately, she averted her gaze in a sign of respect for the powerful woman. As Sera'veilan gave the outsiders a new task, Halcyon found herself once again filled with emotion, though this time it was jealousy. Knowing it was petty to feel such, Halcyon kept her face stoic. She was jealous that the strangers were given a task by the Queen herself. She was jealous that they could come and go from Ahn'Veria as they pleased. She was jealous that they had a good reputation and exuded strength while she was left with being seen as weak. Though one could hardly blame her. She was nearly 20 and had nothing to show for it.

Sudddenly, the Miqo'te found herself enraptured by the Queens words. The proud woman spoke, "You have your orders... as for you girl. I'm assigning you to this task as well... your companions will not be joining... I can't have more then three of you in on this but I can at least give you a good chance of redemption... So on that note, do you have any questions? If not Oliviert please tell them what you want them to know and then show them to the guest quarters. We will have them stay there tonight." Halcyon could have jumped with joy. She could have lost composure and hugged the Queen, but she didn't. She simply nodded in acceptance to her new assignment while celebrating on the inside.

Now was her chance to prove them all wrong.
