"One more it is then." Zak took hold of the remaining sphere. Absorbing the energy, he began following Heart again, as he made his way to the left. Two more paths? Did they intend to create a labyrinth? He looked around as he walked behind his ally, taking note of the walls and structures. Moldiest walls I've seen in my life. Mold has to have some sort of food source. Are they feeding on remains? Or the walls them self? Zak was getting lost in his thoughts, thinking of ways he could help the current situation he and Heart were in.

Heart continued walking down the hall until it took a turn to his left. From what he could see, not much since it was cool, dark, and damp down there, the hall would continue for a long ways down, probably uninhabited. "Well, let's go." said Heart walking down the hall with his alley behind him. The reason we were thrown in the dungeon was because... well, the reason I was is simply unquestionable. I knew too much and thew wanted to get rid of me and my info about this cursed kingdom, but the others? Maybe Yer'non simply IS going insane. But that doesn't make complete sense. He is getting rid of his family and friends and random civilians, but what about Lukas? Heart was thinking, but decided that he should concentrate more on the hall than on what was happening on the outside. Just then a rustling noise was heard. In fact, rustling would be too nice of a word. It was more of a slopping noise, like the mold was moving. But that's impossible. thought Heart until he walked up to a pile of green mush. The mold had a big crease across the middle of it going horizontally, which was dripping some green liquid and mold which gave it the impression of teeth, and a vertical opening in the middle of the "head" above the "mouth" that was about half the size of the "mouth" with a glowing, blue aura in the shape of an eye with a white center, resembling the pupil. "A flan..." Heart sighed and pulled his blade out and pointed it at the flan then quickly sliced at it's body, but the blade went through the mold like a spoon goes through jello (-1). "Damn, I thought that might happen." Heart said. "Oi, Flans are gellatin-based creatures that are weak to magic-based attacks. Have you heard of the four basic Flans? I'm sure you have, well this mold is not like them, but considering it's molecular structure I'd say it's weak to your fira." Heart explained knowing full well the mage he was with had a stronger spell than Fire. The Flan wailed around and crept towards Heart, but was easily able to dodge the Flan's thrusting attack.

Kross could tell that the other two had killed the goblins and decided his rest time was up. Standing he advanced around the corner and saw the other two people with him standing around, the girl appearing to be seriously hurt. She probably has her own potions... he thought to himself as he walked past them and continued further down the hall.
As he advanced he thought he heard a slimy sound from above him but that was impossible because nothing crawled on the ceiling... Except a flan! his mind yelled out at him as he jumped forward barely avoiding where it landed as it fell off the ceiling with a sick thud. "Been awhile since I took one of these one..." he said as he pulled both daggers out.
Charging forward he slashed with both his daggers at the gelatin (-4,-4). Spinning behind the creature he stabbed it with both daggers(-4,-4) and then flipped over it to the front side slashing twice again while he was in midair above the slime (-4,-4). As he landed in front of the blob he slashed his right dagger (-8) then his left dagger at the thing's eyes(-4). Running around to the left side of it he then slashed it with both daggers one last time (-4,-4).
Kross slowly slid his trusty daggers back into their sheaths on either side of his belt and reached his hand out collecting the orb of light.

Heart continued to walk down the hall and noticed a light coming from the end. It was brightest at the right, but he could hear the heavy breathing of a fiend. "Okay. I don't know where the others are, but I'm pretty sure that this next foe is not something we should take lightly. Are you ready?" asked Heart pulling out his blade and inspecting it, wondering about the power he could deal hopefully to finish the beast off. I wonder what the foul thing could be. A flan? Goblin? No... something much bigger. But a Behemoth within the halls? Impossible. Heart was thinking as he approached the end of the hall. He turned around and looked at his ally. "What was your name? I'd like to know the brave comrade that has helped me through here just in case we are to be apart." Heart said and began walking backwards, sword in his right hand, and turned his head slowly to the left to see the foul beast that lay in wait as he waited for his ally's answer.

Am I dead from exhaustion? Is that the light? Zak heard something that he didn't really want to though. Okay...so I'm not dead...I think I might want to be though...wait what am I thinking? This is why I'm down here right? I'm ready to show off to those noble idiots. Magic can defeat might. He heard quite a deal of breathing, and it wasn't coming from him or Heart. "Large, eh? Of course I'm ready! I've been ready." He clicked his stave on the ground. He saw his ally turn towards him, and ask for his name again. "I am Zak Amphiesma. But, my last name has no meaning to it's previous owners. It's my own name now." At least, I intend to make it my own. Once I prove myself worthy of it. My, "family" of mine...I wonder what they'll do when they hear what I am to accomplish?

(Argh...I can't trust my own mind any more T.T I'll get it eventually!)

"Dobelym. E cruimt ryja vekinat dryd y kio fuimt zicd fymg uh po yht aqbald sa du dyga lyna uv socamv." Faelynn thought to herself with an irritated frown. Slowly, she reached into the small pack she had on her hip and pulled out a potion, uncapping it loudly.
Chugging down the first quarter of the bottle easily, she gave a light smile. She'd been trained to this taste when she was younger, and had grown to like it over time. Of course, the first time she'd attempted to stomach it....well, we'll just say that it didn't go to well. But leave it to an Al Bhed girl to start to love the bitter feeling it gave her taste buds. She once had gotten in serious trouble with her father for drinking three of his potions out of the cupboard one day when she was seven or so. It was a nostalagic thing for here these days.
Soon, the whole bottle was gone. She tossed it aside, thinking that no one would really give a flying flan turd if she just littered in a dungeon. With a few bone-cracking movements, she stood up to her full height. She stepped forward a few times, now standing next to Kross with a light frown. She could hear...something...just around the corner, it seemed. It didn't sound friendly. She had half a mind to ask him what they intended to do, but then decided against it. If they wound up dying, it didn't really matter to her. If they wound up living against...whatever that thing was....then she'd never have to see them again. Assuming that the owner of the monsterish noise was the guardian of the exit or something of that sort.

"Well Zak," began Heart as he looked back at his ally and pointed his sword at him, "It's time to fight." he finished and looked over at the enemy and walked into the room while standing his guard. The room had no walls, but were covered in bookshelves that had not a sinlge missing bookm and at one of the tables sat a man with ragged clothes who was breathing heavily. It got up and turned its head towards Heart to show his red face and fangs that pointed towards the ground. It turned completely around and roared at Heart while thorwing his arms to his side and spreading his claw-like fingers out.
"Grah!" cried out the fiend in it's terrifying voice. Heart pointed his blade at the fiend's head and grinned.
"Now's the time." he said and jumped towards the Oni and slashed at it's body (-11) but the Oni grinned and punched Heart in the stomach while he was still in mid air (-10). Heart fell backwards and gasped for air, but before he knew it the Oni flicked it's tail at his face and Heart blinked a couple times unable to see what was happening since his vision was messed up for a second, but the Oni delivered a devestating scratch to Heart that made his start on fire and burnt his clothes slightly before the flame dispersed immediately (-10).

Kross heard the loud roar coming from down the hallway and looked in that direction. Maybe we should go back the other way... he thought to himself until he heard, with his large ears, the noise of battle coming from the direction. Guess I have no choice now, Kross thought to himself and smiled as he took off down the hallway and rouded the corner into the room as fast as he could.
He was presented with the sight of a humanesk shaped fiend with a red face and large fangs. The creature had not yet noticed him, being too distracted with its first opponent, so Kross jumped as high as he could and plunged both of his daggers into the beasts back aiming for where the lungs would be (-34,-17). Pulling his daggers out he jumped and landed by the other. "Good to see you're still alive," he said honestly.
Then the fiend pointed his hand at Kross and suddenly a great ball of fire shot out toward him hitting him square in the chest engulfing him in flames for a second
(-17) before going out.
"Ouch that hurt..." Kross whispered under his breath.

Heart nodded his head towards Kross and got up and pulled a potion out of his pocket. They were small vials with a clear liquid. He opened it up and took a gulp and squinted his eyes. The taste was foul, but there wasn't time to waste (+25). Heart grabbed his blade with both hands and held them next to him pointed back towards the hall he came from. The blade began glowing a blue aura around it and Heart stabbed it into the air as if an enemy was above him and the blue aura consumed the blade. "Defense Breaker!" Shouted Heart as he sliced down at the Oni and slashed his torso (-15). Now the Oni's defense had dropped enough so that they could handle him with enough ease, once the others showed up. The Oni didn't take lightly to the attack though and pointed his hand at Heart and shot a fire ball at him (-14), then punched Heart in the stomach right afterwards (-10), ending his combo by jumping back a few feet. Luckily Heart's potion finished healing him by then (+25).

Taking a hint, Faelynn decided to run up to where Kross had gone to. She heard some form of noises, most of which sounded like fighting. And of course, she wanted to get out of here. She pulled her small weapon out once again, creeping forward slowly before entering the area that the men were fighting in.
With not too much examination, the violet-haired girl realized that there was something monstrous in here. Something not at all pleasant, but looked incredibly intimidating. His fangs and face were both something horrible, as was the stench of this particular area. He didn't seem to notice her yet, though, much to her relief.
Faelynn decided to get in a quick blow before this creature managed to bring her to her doom, and swung her arm forward to slash at the beast's stomach before hopping backwards a few feet (-11).
The Oni turned his head towards her now, moving at a breakneck speed towards the woman before delivering a punch to her side (-9) which caused her to topple over onto her side clumsily. She stood up, holding her side and crinkling her nose a bit at the pain. She'd somehow managed to keep a tight hold on her knife, however, and jumped up to land a nice stab into the Oni's neck (-11).
It roared out in frustration more than pain as she pulled her blade out, and shot a thing of fire at her as if as an afterthought (-17).
She crumpled to her knees at the burning sensation, shuddering at the feeling. It was a few moments before she was able to rise again, and she tucked her weapon into its holster before running up to the Oni and pickpocketing him effectively. He didn't seem to notice that she was stealing from him, but he did twirl around and smack her away when he realized how close she was (-9). She slammed into the back wall, and weakly pulled out another potion to heal herself with.

Zak tried to take shelter with the group. I don't think I'd be too useful against this guy... It was a very flame orientated monster...so flames weren't going to do much. A little stave wasn't going to do much either. He had to think, but was too distracted by the group being hurt right in front of him. I can't use my magic. It wouldn't do much help...I have no choice then. He charged the beast in front of him, and using his stave attacked (-4). Zak felt as though he didn't do much, and backed away. The Oni then turned to face him. This is gonna hurt. The oni outstretched it's hand, letting out a blast of fire (-16). He was knocked onto his back by the blast, and slowly stood up. The Oni was already about to attack at this point, and swung it's tail (-9), causing him to waver.

Heart felt the effect of the potion stop and walk back over to the Oni. "Hey, now you die!" he said and ran towards the Oni and slashed down at it (-15). Not enough to kill the Oni, it turned and blasted two Fira's at Heart (-14 -14). Heart then unleashed his counter attack which sliced at the Oni's neck (-26) making it groan in unimaginable pain. "Begone fiend." Heart commanded as he slashed at the Oni killing it in a single blow (-2). The Oni turned sparkled and began flahsing white and blue as it reached for the cieling, but became transendent and soon imploded and a million tiny spheres shot out and went up into the cieling of the dungeon leaving behind 5 large spheres of blue aura. Heart walked up to one and sheathed his blade as he stuck out his right hand and absorbed the aura as it grew smaller and the blue lines of what looked like untouchable water spiraled around his arm and vanished into his body. He noticed a red robe on the ground too where the Oni once stood and picked it up and inspected it.

"Good fight. The name's Kross, ex-captain in the king's army. Nice to meet you...?" said the man that had entered the room after Heart. He looked over and then back down at the garbs and laid it over his right shoulder and turned towards Kross. Ex-captain? he thought, then bowed, ignoring Kross's invite for a handshake.
"I am Heart Undist-Revel, no relataion to the royal family, Revel." he clarified though he was simply lying, but no one could know this since Heart had lived a very unintrusive life. Heart trained in the arts of swordmanship ever since he learned of his killers' location, but who know if they were still alive since the chaos broke out. So Kross... what are your motives and how did you get here? thought Heart then decided it'd be better to ask questions than stand around and think. He walked over to the rows of books, then noticed that almost all of them didn't even have titles. Most were worned down and thick books, but one red book with a golden text on the side popped out at him. Heart grabbed the book off the shelf and began reading it. "Magicite: Soul Arts," began the title, "The combination of souls, otherwise known as aura, can be broken down into a couple different components: Whisp, Karma, and Essence. Whisp are the lines of blue aura that travel down ones arm in a spiral and are the "roads" for the Essence to enter. Karma is the ability for an aura to contian the same amount of Essence in a compact package. Essence is simply the whole soul itself that can give power to the one who slays the being, most notably Fiends." Heart was surprised at the book and how much knowledge it contained. "Though this process cannot be mastered immedieately, it can be temporarly mastered through a chant that every person that wishes to use the Karma must say." The book continued. Heart then looked over and noticed the blue spheres emitting a small amount of the whisp up towards the cieling. What's up there? thought Heart.

Faelynn felt a little bit bad, having the guys do the majority of the fighting. But only a little. It saved her from getting killed, which was a bit of a plus.
Once the potion had done all that it needed, she rose to her feet and fumbled into the middle of the room. She obsorbed the swirling blue orbs, a sudden wave of strength covering her body. She walked foward, standing just a few feet behind the males, wordlessly. She heard them talking, but didn't really feel like hopping into the conversation.
There was a few rows of books near them, the majority of them really old and ratty looking. She was fascinated by them, but didn't show it. It would only bring more attention to her. She just stood back silently, as per usual. If one of them addressed her, she might decide to participate. Might. Otherwise, no chance.

Heart looked up from the book and saw that there was only the other two in the room with him. "The name is Heart Undist-Revel." he introduced himself and saw the purple haired girl take her share of the aura. "Were we the only ones to make it? I remember at least one other person with us, the mage that came along with me. Did you have another companion as well?" he asked and looked back at the wall of books and began looking through the tomes. He came back to the table, that the Oni was sitting at when they had arrived, and saw a book opened to a page with a picture of a sword. "Ex...cali...pur?" Heart sounded out and fliped the page to see a picture of a circle with four different colored dots on the edges. Red, Dark Blue, Yellow, and Sky Blue. There was another dot in the middle that was simply black with what appeared to be a thunder bolt-shaped mark coming out from the black dot and reaching almost to the other colored dots. "A spell that can cause equal balance. At the cost of a town, the Archfiends can be revived, but for this price will chaos and ______ be born." he read and was confused to what the last part meant. "Chaos and... and what?" he asked in a whispering tone.

Kross looked at Heart puzzled by what he had just said about chaos and something else, "What does that mean? I'm a military man myself, not much of a scholar at all. Unless knowing every battle strategy and how to counter them is a type of scholarship." Kross then thought back to what Heart had said about other people being with them.
"There was another man with us. He was right behind me I thought but something must have happened to him... I say we do whatever little chant thingy you were talking about earlier and move on to get out of this dungeon. There are far worse things than the Oni down here in the King's dungeons."

After a few moments of consideration, Faelynn decided that it couldn't kill to get on a first-name basis with the men. It would be better than them just calling her "purple-haired chick" or "you girl" for the duration of the time they were together. With a soft sigh, Faelynn finallly turned her eyes up to the males.
"Faelynn." She gave her most strained half-smile, trying to be polite to the unfamiliar ones. With a nod, she looked back at her toes. With any luck, they hadn't seen her eyes, her dead give away...
She heard them talking about...well, she wasn't all that sure what they were talking about. There was something about Archfiends, but she couldn't place it as to what that could mean. They mentioned the others, who, now that she thought of it, were missing. Had they been in that last room with the Oni? No, not that she remembered. No matter, though. Less people for her to be forced into conversation with.
Kross said something about there being far worse things than the Oni lurking down here in the dungeons, which caught Faelynn off guard slightly. What could be worse than that thing? She let her imagination roam, and shuddered with fear.

Vernon had a headache. Not one of those normal 'Oh my head hurts so much!' headaches; this one he could feel all the way to the center of his skull. He tried to stand himself up properly, but felt a little weak on his feet. "Well, ain't THAT just great! My robes got all torn!" Vernon complained. Blue robes these days were expensive for non adventurers. In fact, that was a side reason for himself now adventuring. Well, that and being able to find out new and interesting things monsters can do. Unfortunately, it was a bad idea for Vernon to come in this dungeon alone. Not to mention that he has yet to learn any new skills from local monsters. But anyways, unconscious was unconscious. Now, he had to make his way out of this goddess forsaken place. So he set off once again, with no way of knowing which way to go.

After a bit he started to hear sounds of battle. At least he hoped so. "Well lookie here!" Vernon said with surprise to find a group of what he guessed to be adventurers finishing of a demon. Though he mentally kicked himself for not being able to see the demon attack, he was glad to know there wasn't much present danger. So he decided to walk over to the adventurers yelling out in a clear voice. "Hey there!" Vernon called out, beaming. "Are you all perhaps adventuring, per say?" Vernon just thought at that moment that they might see him as a threat. He mentally kicked himself again.

Heart looked up to what Kross had said and was about to respond when he caught sight of a man in blue robes entering the room. "Are you all perhaps adventuring, per say?" the man asked and Heart closed his eyes and thought.
A man following us? Shouldn't someone had noticed? well, in the very least we could call him an ally for now. Heart opened his eyes and gave the man a small smirk of acceptance. "Hello there, I am not an adventurer and it is doubtful the others are as well. We are simply vitcims to a chaos unknown." Heart explained and looked back down at the book, then closed it and opened the front few pages. Now to relocate that chant. he thought to himself as he also pondered the man's blue robes. Such fine design and color. He must have some Gil, or at least gotten access to royalty? Either that or a gift from a nobel. Either way, he's down here so it doesn't make much of a difference now. he thought trying to flip through the endless amount of pages the tome contained.

Well, it wasn't exactly what Vernon was expecting. But he could hardly complain knowing that there are others here that are as confused as he was. Vernon looked at the other people. The one close to him, seemed familiar. "Aha!" Vernon exclaimed. "I knew I recognized you! You are from around here aren't you? At least I have seen you out with your wooden sword at night." He said with a grin and did a walk around him. "I am the baker's son. Vernon. It's a pleasure to meet you sir." Vernon bowed out of respect. He had heard about how the king had taken someone in. But Vernon wasn't really good with town gossip too much. "
If you would like an extra hand getting out of this place; I wouldn't mind helping out. I am aspiring to learn the great secrets of monster, so I would need a fine group of people to fight alongside with." Vernon finished, looking to everyone else for improvement.

Hert finally found the page and smiled slightly. He had read this language before, but interestingly enough, he'd read this exact quote from a book long ago. "Okay, I found it." he said and looked up. He walked over to the others and read from the book. "We must first put our hands together," he began and put his hand out waiting for the others to put their hands on his, "and then once we read the chant, the souls of Fiends will be equally divided and we shall all become stronger together." he said and waiting for the others to compley.

Vernon laughed a bit and joined in. Offering his hands out to anyone who would take them. "This should be interesting. Heck, this might even turn out to be an adventure all on it's own!" He laughed and got impatient waiting, so he took the young nobleman's hand. "So what exactly do we have to chant then?" He looked curiously at the book Heart was reading. If anything, Vernon would gain some valuable knowledge. So it wouldn't hurt to give this magic a try.

(I'm going to pretent Tear's character puther hand in with us since, knowing her, it'll take years for her to even get back on :P)

Heart looked down on the book, which he was holding with one hand, and began reading. "From Heaven showers and thundering planes, let the power of Karma and Aura combine the seams of time and matter. Before the dawn of Neglish falls, Haehaeven shall reap the morrow winds. Allow our sins to be eternal and our power, everlasting. Sha'll Shin en Vester'vol. Katarin Galmush, en fester fouwl." Heart read as their hands began to glow a faint blue and near the end of the chant, darkn blue. Once the chant was completed, their hands were blue with aura and had a water-like movement within their hands that they could see; the current of chakra within their bodies. The power then sperad throughout their bodies and turned their body and clothes into solid water, then returned to normal after Heart pulled his hand away from them. He dropped the book and gasped for air, then grabbed his neck and began to breathe the air. "Did it work?" he asked them and looked over at the remaining two spheres of the Oni's soul and pointed his hand in that direction and began to absorb the Aura as they began to disappear. Both were streaming up his arm as they split up and went to the others. They had now achieved the ability to share the souls of fallen Fiends and transform the energy into power.

Heart looked around and found a book off a shelf and looked at the cover. "Ways Into the Blinding Light. Sounds interesting." Heart read and looked over at the others. Kross had already left and didn't mind it at all, but sat down and asked the others, "You wouldn't mid sitting here and reading a few tomes while Kross did his duty, would you not?" He then flipped the book open and looked through the context. Cure, Esuna, Null, Protect, Shell, and Carbuncle. Hmmm... Carbuncle?[i] he thought and flipped to the page to see a detailed drawing of a blue, furry creature with a red, oval gem in it's forehead. The creature barely took half the page and had a white tummy. [i]A Carbuncle is the mystic aanschrijven of healing. It is capable of using any of the previous White Magics explained. Aanschrijven, huh...? A creature that is able to be summoned by the whim of it's name, but only to those you can tame such a beast, but how hard must a Carbuncle be to tame? Surely everyone's got one of their own, right? he began contemplating the chances of taming the aanschrijven, but suddenly was caught flipping back to a random page and landing on Null. Null Fire to be more precise. Null Fire, a spell capable of summoning a ball of fire that circles the target and if any spell that is fire-based is to get near the target, the ball of fire would take the target's place and consume the damage and evaporating the excess power into the air and cooling the area within three square feet. Null Fire... very useful against fire-based Fiends such as Oni, Rojo Flan, Red Flan, and Dragons. The speel is fairly easy to learn, but can only truely be mastered by a Paladin or White Mage. He was reading and then grinned. If this is so, then I must become a Paladin. For my country, kingdom, and the sake of these fine young warriors. He thought and got up and closed the book. Setting it on the table, he walked over towards the hallway he came from and felt a vibrant pressence. Really? I thought I felt something. he though, but couldn't make out where the feeling was coming from.

(The feeling can only be felt by Heart. It is his Shard Fiend. Also Fatal... again... People post!)
