Introduction
From there we immigrated across the Verse finding ourselves new homes with the hopes of recreated what we had. Most of the inner planets, the planets that did not need terra-forming became the Central Planets. There the population boomed, as did the technology, money and the Alliance.
Further out the planets and moons needed terra-forming, this took time, and sometimes it didn't take. Many of the outer planets on the fringe of the Verse are simple production planets: Food, wares, ceramics, doing what they can to keep themselves fed.
The Alliance patrols the Verse but like all well guarded things there are always cracks. That is where we come in. Midnight and her crew wander the star filled skies in search of work. Some good, the rest questionable, there is little left in the Verse that the Alliance doesn't already have it's hands on.

"Now I agree the streets ain't the most convenient places to be so either way we best be getting moving. In one direction or another. I really don't like sleepin' in the gutters, and I've had to do it a lot in my travelings, so a bed in a firefly seems like heaven to me." Ranthol says. He tries to keep his eyes on Jack, awaiting an answer. His posture is a little different now. He seems to have become a little bit more comfortable with the crew.

Not only did his path give him a chance to see if they were being followed, but it gave him a chance to speak. "Ranth, you're new. I'll forgive you this time, especially because I appreciate what it is you want to do." He glanced in the rear view mirror, squinting at a vehicle briefly before it turned away. He turned back to the conversation. "Anne n' I've been working together for a few years now. I understand when something is a suggestion, and something is an order. There's a right chance that the Alliance would be looking for us, and we ain't doin' the ship no good bein' locked up and forgot about." He glanced in his side view mirror, squinting again, but trying not to move his head. He was pretty sure they were being followed, but...the vehicle didn't look the same. Just the occupants.
Lifting his hand, he wiped his mouth, a not uncommon gesture for him. While his hand was hiding his mouth, he muttered to Kes that he thought they were being followed. He hoped the man would be able to confirm or deny it. Dropping his hand, he turned right a second time, heading away from the Alliance base. He had to be sure, and he couldn't head straight into the jaws of a waiting trap. "Besides, Mister Ranth, the Captain and I have some code phrases, and that wasn't one of 'em. She was free from eavesdroppers when she sent it." The green light flashed again, catching his peripherals, and his foot lowered on the ion pedal a bit more.

He pulled a small flask from an inner pocket, took a sip, then handed it back to Ranth. "Let's all look casual, eh?" he mouthed to Jack. "Just a few sailors out on the town, look you. No point 'em knowing we've seen."

She'd bring up Kes's two flight plans, once more evaluating each of them, and she'd selected the second, programing it into Midnight's auto-pilot sequences. They'd at least go and check out the two abandoned ships to see if they'd been ransaked as of yet. Anne had a talent of recieveing information before many others did. Lots of connections all over the 'Verse, and a great many people that owed her a favor or two.
She'd glance over the montiors that had video of the open bay doors and part of the docks outside. Where the hell was Jack and the boys? They should have been back by now, hopefully they hadn't run in to any more trouble, as that Christien had led her to believe they would see another Alliance face until their timer was up.

She raised an eyebrow at his second remark and smiled- a rarity. "Sorry, I just couldn't keep myself out of trouble long enough for you to be out of here."
Turning back to the com as she heard Anne talking over it, her smile faded some as she listened. "Got it. Oli's awake, if you were wondering." she ignored Anne's comment about her well being, instead waiting for the channel to either close or for Anne to say more.
"I'll bring them up in a minute." she heard the line close and turned around clumsily with the crutches.
"Never was good at using these things." Kaelii sighed, going over to Oliver and pulling a belt over him and letting it loosely secure him. She didn't want him uncomfortable, but she didn't enjoy the thought of Anne murdering her if he slid about and got hurt worse.
"I'll be right back." Kaelii called back to Oli as she retreated out the door, moving clumsily on the unfamiliar crutches.
Several ladders and squeaks of pain later she had made it up to the control room and was hovering just inside the doorway.
"Would you like me to tell you about your lovely little plague ship now or later?" Kaelii asked Anne, patiently waiting for a response.
Setting

Anne was quickly re-reading what information she had on the ship. "Settlers, small crew, families." It would be a tough haul even if there hadn't been a plague and just a simple mis-hap that killed the entire ship, she hated seeing dead children, it creeped her out. She was turning her attention back to Kaelii, "There's alot of money floating out there if we can get on board, what do you think?"
Setting

Not visibly paying Kes much more attention he looks to Jack "Just how long have you two been workin together? Anne and you." He shifts again. Pushing himself up on his seat. Almost without thinking he arranges his rifle so its easier to reach, but harder to view from the outside. As he moves the ring around his neck shows. A glitter of gold appears before he tucks it away under his shirt quickly. He frowns without much reason.

So he'd been keeping an eye on Ranthol ever since they'd set out, sensing the man's hostility. It wasn't fear as such - his customized skeleton could stand up to anything that could be thrown at it short of a neutron blaster - more a sense that it would be shaming to be caught by surprise. Sooner or later, he'd have to bring it out in the open, and ask just why Ranthol had taken such a dislike to him. For now, he'd watch and wait.
And when he saw the ring around Ranthol's neck - and the efforts he made to hide it - he managed to control his start. His eyebrows didn't lift so much as a micron. But now his mind was churning frantically.

Sorry I haven't been able to post, life has been a little crazy. I read a little bit on the posts and the ooc. I dont mind and encourage the co-GMing or round robin style to whom ever wants to take the reins.
I will post tomorrow afternoon and re-establish what our current plot is for those that may have forgotten.

Re: [OOC] Firefly: Revisited
On that note, Jenna, I think it's awesome that you want us to have some say in driving the plot forward, but perhaps you should, to help it move in a more linear direction, give it some bare bones for us to flesh out. Just a thought.

Re: [OOC] Firefly: Revisited
I confess, however, I'm really still not sure about why the bulk of the male characters are acting as they are, plot-wise. Like Kes, I'm going along for the ride, Hopefully, someone's got something in mind...
Re: [OOC] Firefly: Revisited
Re: [OOC] Firefly: Revisited
I just got a message from Alan asking about what was happening with the plot. (See above post.) I had posted an automated recall from all those off of the ship (i.e. Reap, Jack and Kes) to receive immediately.
As I said before, if you have plot suggestions or an idea as to where we could take this, leave a message here or you can send me a private message. I don't want this become a restricted play, I don't like those types of RP and it wouldn't be any fun for myself either.
Also, starting tonight I'm on vacation so I won't be around daily to respond to posts immediately but I will be around!
Thanks!
Jenna
