"What? You thought I was going to respond to Subject 001? What kind of a name is that? No. I got a look at my file once. My real name started with an R. Sadly. that's all I saw." The name she picked for herself was Raven, partly because she'd seen her file once. Sadly, the only thing she saw before they took it away from her was an R as her first name and an S as her last. So, since her wings were black, and she had a dark personality, she figured Raven would fit her perfectly. For short, people she's close to call her Rae (pronounced Ray), which she doesn't mind at all, she actually loves it, but as soon as you start calling her Subject, expect to have something broken.

"Unlike most of the children here, I wasn't a test tube baby. I had a home once, and one of my most vivid memories of it would be Christmas." Rae has short, but vivid memories of her life before the labs. Some of them are insignificant moments, some are major events, some are crystal clear right down to smell, while others are short little fuzzy clips. Sometimes, they'll come to her in dreams, but a lot of the time, her dreams are filled with nightmare, leaving no room for happy memories so instead, things that happen in her waking life may trigger a dejavu feeling, or an actual flashback. Of these, her most vivid memory is her first Christmas morning, and because of this, she chose to claim December 25th as her birthday.

Ability:
"I can make you doubt reality." Raven has the ability of Illusion. She can force thoughts, ideas, words, hallucinations, memories, and such into another's mind by physical contact, them hearing her voice, or eye contact. When she uses her power, her eyes glimmer with the same iridescent shine as her wings, but that is the only clue. When she's hypnotizing with voice, she doesn't even have to change her voice, simply ease it in casually to the conversation, though she can also make noises that are so high pitched, they are undetectable to the human ear. To make push hallucinations into someone, it's easier to use physical contact or eye contact, because, with voice, she'd have to describe the hallucination and that's not as instant. The only way her victim can be free of her spell is if she should will it, or they manage to mentally figure it out themselves. She could push and entire lifetime of memories into someone's head, and they would never even know. If someone else were to try and break them of this, they would only anger them. Essentially, she could drive people mad by making them doubt reality, often, people who know her power, are very wary about what's real and what's not when they're around her.

"Why don't you take a picture. It'll last longer." Rae is very beautiful. She has luminescent white skin, extremely pale, but not washed-out or ill looking. More like smooth, icy, white, perfection. Her hair is deep black, that lays in glossy, soft ringlets, swishing down to just past her hips, as she's never cut it a day in her life. Typically, she lets her hair lay naturally, in a windswept curls look, but sometimes, she'll throw it up in a loose bun or ponytail, as it gets in her way often. Framed by her long dark locks, Raven has a very delicate looking face, with a dainty chin, small, nose, defined jaw, thin, perfectly shaped black eyebrows, and bright bright pink lips. Under thick black eyelashes, she has a pair of captivating velvety black eyes. When using her power, these eyes glitter with the same iridescent sheen as her wings often do, though much more noticeably, as they can actually glow in the dark.
For body type, Rae is a lithe little thing, with a small frame and delicate structure. She may not appear threatening, but that's only what's on the outside. What she can do to your mind, is another thing entirely. Do not underestimate her based on her pretty little appearance, as so many do. They see her petite structure as a weakness, rather than a strength, for what she lacks in power and brute force, she gains in speed and deceit.
As for body art, Raven has four cartilage piercings in her right ear, as well as three earlobe piercing in both ears. For tattoos, she has been living at Biotech her entire life, and has no way of getting one, though once she's out, she's considering tricking some unlucky artist into doing one for her. Only after her and her family are safe, of course. In order to get her ear piercings, she stole earrings from staff members for quite a long time, and then did them all herself in her cage.
Being one of the avian mutants of Biotech, Raven also has a pair of enormous black wings, sprouting from between her shoulder blades. Though these wings are not merely black. Their feathers have a shimmering iridescent sheen over the black, so that, as she moves, colors dance across them in the light, every color from emerald green to vibrant magenta present. Along the to ridge of her wings, where the feathers are very short, they are small and circular, with a lot more obvious iridescence and a black dot in the center. As the feathers get larger, fanning out towards the bottom, they also get blacker and blacker.

Rae is the kind of girl who stands up for what she believes in. She doesn't let others push her around, and does what she wants, when she wants. She's headstrong, with as much willpower as an Ox has strength. Some say she was born a natural leader. That more than fate made her one of the two leaders of the runaway children. Though she disagrees.
Raven, though headstrong, is not the kind of person who enjoys human interaction. She prefers to be left to herself, only allowing those who have taken the time to get under her skin, to get anywhere near her. She's strong and smart, capable of making decisions and carrying them out precisely, as well as backing up her choices against anyone who would dare to oppose her. She can speak to a crowd and captivate everyone's full attention, but she has a little trouble with the one-on-one interaction.
Rae likes to seclude herself and doesn't take compliments very well. Should she do something for you, don't thank her. She'll merely say it had to be done and wave it off. She hides inside herself, preferring to be alone, than to get close to someone and get hurt. Though Rae swears she's not afraid of Biotech, they are the source of all her problems. She refuses to let herself get close to someone, because Biotech might take that away.
She's spent years building a hard-rock emotional shell for her to hide herself in, and isn't about to let anyone ruin that. She's a hard person to understand. Ninety percent of the time, her sarcastic mouth and, often hurtful, jokes are complete bullshit. She doesn't truly mean half the things she says. Though, most people don't understand this and get fed up with her instantly, seeing her as nothing more than a cocky, wanna-be badass. This means her protective walls are doing their job. It's the people who actually take the time to decipher what she's really trying to say, that she let's get to her. A good, screaming fight, might be just what she needs rather than uplifting words of encouragement.
Despite all this though, Raven is incredibly motherly. She takes care of the other children with her tenderly, loving each one of them as a mother would love her child. It's kind of a strange thing, to see Rae act motherly, expressing her love in small gestures, like a little kiss atop the head. The others trust her, and she can't think of anything worse than letting them down. She doesn't even fear for her own safety, but that she'll fail in keeping the others safe. Though Raven seems like an impenetrable fortress, underneath all her built-up walls, there's a soft, vulnerable girl. She may not show it, but she grows easily attached to people, and it hits her hard when they leave. Yet another reason for her burrowing down inside herself. Crying, for her, is extremely out of character, even if she feels like crying all the time.
To sum her up shortly, Raven is a tough leader, a courageous fighter, a protective "mother", but above all- a young girl who's had her entire life crushed by Biotech. Who has the same feelings as everyone. Even if she doesn't let them show.
Unlike most of the other children, Rae is not a test tube baby. She lived with her real mother for a year before being donated to Artemis Biotech. Sometimes, she sits and wonders what she did wrong, why her mother gave her up. She had frequent flashbacks of her mother, but the face is never clear, and she often can't remember them afterwards, left with a small nagging feeling of dejavu or remembrance. At the facility, she was changed into, not a human being, but a subject for experimentation.
They injected her with needle after needle. The injections that gave her her avian blood nearly killed her, and she was to be specially cared for for two years. When her blood started mutating, she was just starting to get better, and the mutation caused her to go through another year of vivid hallucinations, most of which she still remembers. The scientists were about ready to give up on her and consider her a failure, when she suddenly made a comeback. The hallucinations stopped, she regained her strength, and she grew into her wings. This three-year sickness is part of why she is so incredibly petite. While sick, her body didn't have enough nourishment or strength to grow, and when you're a toddler, growing is extremely rapid and important. After recovering, the doctors soon realized what she could do, as did she. She was a hazard, and no one came to see her in her cell for two years because of the thoughts she would put into peoples heads, driving them to the brink of insanity. During this time, they were developing a defense mechanism to protect themselves from her abilities.
Finally, they managed to create a headpiece that allowed them to keep her out of their minds. Though, depending on the persons mental strength, Rae could still break through the device. At age five, the cruel experiments started, and she fought them tooth and nail, putting memories, hallucinations, thoughts, and ideas into every persons mind that she could, breaking everything in Biotech as possible in fits of anger, kicking, clawing, biting, scratching. She even kept count of her many failed escape attempts. 416.
During her time at Biotech, she grew very close to the other children, and, being the oldest, developed a motherly tenderness for them, something that surprised herself, as well as the scientists around her. They began using the others against her in order to get her to cooperate, and it proved to be effective. When asked to compete against the Jupiter Industries kids, they would threaten one of the other children she loved, and she'd fight harder than ever when she used to merely stand there. The youngest girl became the closest to her heart, and she found herself willingly taking care of the girl, showing love towards another person. Something she'd never felt before. They grew close and she became both a mother and a sister to the girl.
When a cruel experiment hurt Pip badly, almost killing her, Rae decided enough was enough and it was time to attempt escape number 417. Though, unlike the others, this one succeeded.
