Miyu Kimura

"No, no, no. You've got to be kidding."

a character in “Floral Alchemy”, as played by TaniaSoulEater

Description

Image

Role: Girl 3

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Sexual Orientation: Straight/Heterosexual

Appearance: Miyu is tall and slender, often compared to a bamboo plant. Her features are elfin and well-sculpted, though she isn't very striking, if you overlook her hair. It's long and fine, and dyed purple. If you asked her why, she wouldn't be able to give you an answer - she just likes the colour. Her eyes are a bright blue that tend to flash brightly when she's in sunlight. Quick and intelligent, her gaze seems to bore into your very soul.

Miyu prefers practical and comfortable clothing to fashionable clothing, so she's usually wearing jeans. She won't wear skirts or dresses unless she absolutely has to. Even though she doesn't spend much time on clothing, she manages to throw together rather nice outfits.

Personality: Miyu lives in a world of art. She has great appreciation for all types of art, be it music, painting, and so on. As she is unusually gifted at creating things, she currently has a scholarship at a prestigious art school.

Quiet and reserved, Miyu is a difficult person to get to know well. She tends to hold back her ideas and opinions except from those whom she is close to. She is kind, gentle and sensitive in her dealings with others. She often contributes to others' sense of well being and happiness, and puts a great deal of effort and energy into tasks which she is determined to complete.

Miyu has true appreciation for the beauties of nature. She prefers to draw nature, and is very good at it. Original and independent, she needs to have personal space. She values people who take the time to understand her, and treasures them very much. People who don't know her very well may see her as a carefree and lighthearted person, but she actually takes life very seriously, constantly surveying her surroundings and assessing it.

An action-oriented individual (a doer and not a thinker), Miyu enjoys learning in a hands-on environment. She doesn't like theory much, and may become easily bored with traditional teaching methods. She's also uncomfortable with the idea of making decisions based solely on logic.

She's also very perceptive and aware of others. She's a good judge of character, and is also amazing accurate in sensing others' emotions. Warm and sympathetic, she genuinely cares about people, and likes to show her feelings through actions, not words.

Miyu is neither a leader nor a follower - she prefers her own space to make her own decisions, and has no desire to lead or control others. A perfectionist, she never gives herself enough credit for what she does, and often judges herself with unnecessary harshness.

Family: Father: Daichi Kimura
Mother: Hinata Kimura, neรฉ Nishimura
Older sister: Naoko Kimura

Likes:
โœ” Animals
Miyu loves animals, even the creepy ones. She cannot bear to see animal cruelty of any kind, and will try her best to help the animal. However, she does not have the time nor space to take care of one, so it is with much sadness that she brings any stray animal she finds to the nearest animal shelter.

โœ” Music
Music is a stress reliever for Miyu. Whenever she's feeling stressed, down or negative in any manner, she listens to her favourite music, compiled into different playlists on her iPod to help calm herself down. As a result, she carries her iPod with her at all times.

โœ” Friends
Miyu cherishes her friends very much. She enjoys being around them, and often seeks comfort in them.

โœ” Reading
Miyu also reads a lot. In her small apartment, she has a whole shelf of books.

โœ” Art
This needs no further elaboration.

Dislikes:
โœ˜ Crowds
As mentioned before, Miyu enjoys her personal space. Though she's not claustrophobic, crowds scare her - she'd rather stay away from them. Unfortunately, there are many crowds in Tokyo, so she tries to stay away as much as possible.

โœ˜ Smoking
Miyu cannot stand the smell of people smoking. She's learnt about what it does to the respiratory system, and doesn't like it.

โœ˜ Overly 'girly' stuff
That includes miniskirts, pink fluffy things, and tons of makeup. Miyu thinks it looks terrible. Besides, it's not her style.

โœ˜ The cold
Of course, she can't evade the cold all the time. And it's not just cold, either - it's when it snows, then Miyu puts on her thickest jacket and huddles indoors with a hot cup of cocoa.

โœ˜ Mistakes
Miyu is a perfectionist. That means that there's no room for mistakes.

Abilities:

โ˜ฎ Art
Miyu is great at drawing and painting, especially of nature. She's planning to become a professional artist, once she finishes her education.

โ˜ฎ Cooking
Miyu is also great at cooking. She loves to cook, and can whip up a meal in ten minutes.

History: Miyu grew up in a small town in Japan, always believing that she was destined to do more than just work as a simple office worker like her parents. She worked hard, and eventually saved up enough to continue her studies elsewhere. She went to Osaka, where she did her best.

To occupy her time, Miyu took up art. She drew many pictures, and would often give them to her classmates and teachers as a present. One of her pictures caught the attention of her teacher. Her teacher had a friend who taught in a prestigious art school, and wrote to him, telling him about Miyu's art. The friend was impressed, and managed to help Miyu get a scholarship to the school in Tokyo.

To her delight, Miyu found that she was great at drawing, and loved it. She missed her family back home, but would occasionally call them or find a way to contact them. She knows they're proud of her, and loves them very much.

One day, she was studying in the apartment she shared with the others when she happened to see someone selling flowers. One bouquet caught her eye, and for some reason, she felt drawn to it. She begged and pleaded to be allowed to buy the bouquet, and finally, she did.

Taiga

Cold. That was the first thing that Taiga, the personification of Summer itself, felt after centuries of being a blind, numb seedling lost to his thoughts. For a long time he'd thought he was dead and that the being, who had bargained with his dying self so long ago, had stolen his soul and shut it away in a box. Truthfully, he'd been terrified for the entire time he couldn't move as a seed. His #1 worst fear was definitely being paralyzed. Rolling over, he yelped as he fell off the desk with a thud and a scattering of papers.

"Ow! Damn it all to hell! Why's it so cold? Did Yuu go on a rampage or something?"

Running a hand through his light brown hair, he rubbed the back of his head where he'd hit it on the floor. As he was doing so, a sudden realization hit him. He wasn't in the seed. He wasn't a soul trapped in a pitch black box. He was alive! The realization made him grin, fall back laughing on the floor.

"I'm alive!"

Realizing that he didn't recognize his surroundings, he scrambled into an unstable crouch, almost falling over in his haste. Getting up shakily, he edged towards the rather odd-looking raised bed mat. If Taiga recalled correctly, he'd seen some contraptions like this one whilst he'd been traveling with his father. Pausing in his cautious stride, his eyes lit up orange and blue, like flames were dancing in his irises, and the room warmed up to a rather toasty 90 degrees. Realizing there was a form in the bed, he continued to approach it, halting at the edge of the comforter. Tapping lightly on what he guessed was the form's shoulder, he took a nervous step back.

If memory served, people didn't tend to take well to being woken by a stranger in their sleeping chambers in the middle of the night.

"Uh. Hello?" his voice cracked slightly as he spoke, but he quickly cleared his throat and tried again. "Ah, I don't mean any harm, it's just that I woke up here and I'm not sure where I am or where my brothers are, so if you could be so gracious as to point me in their direction, I shall do my utmost to reward you and be on my way. If you know anyone who might have bought some flowers from a strange man, that's where they'd be, if memory serves. They would be winter, fall, and spring flowers, if that helps at all. Ah, I'm talking too much again. Sorry. I just really need to find them." he shifted from foot to foot, wary of the person.

Backing up even further, he was startled by a blaze of light as he bumped into a light switch, turning on the ceiling light and filling the room with light.

"What strange contraption is this?" he blinked in the sudden light. "Won't a fire on your roof burn down your home?"

Hei

He had been sitting there a bit depressed and frustrated at the new developement so far. All he knew was that they had been sold like slaves at an auction, in a strange future with mechnical boxes that produce everything, and Saku was making friends with strangers... "What is happening in this world?" In his zone of thinking, he completely ignored the conversations and events happening around him with most useful information. However this wasn't as worse as the fact another lady in a white cheongsam had sat down beside him and was drinking tea. As he was about to turn and notice the lady, the girls named Alice and Alecia, as well as Saku rushed by. "What..? Did you find Yuu or Taig-" A disturbance of warm air caught his attention. That answered him, but everyone piling into this one room caught his attention instead. "Wha-" Hei jumped up quick, but.."GAH!! OLD LADY!" He nearly fell of what must be the owner of the estate and flipped over intime landing painful on his back. "What in the four seasons of-ow.." Michiko, the "old lady", had began stabbing at him with her bow. "Who is this rude young man? Michelle I thought we discussed I would gladly have anyone over as long as you told me." She then through aside her bow and walked off to her grandaughter's room.

"What was that?" Hei ran his hand through his charcoal multi-streaked hair and rubbed his cheek where he had been nastily jabbed before getting up to inspect the room. As he studied the scene it looked as if a tornado had hit, music sheets everwhere, strange items thrown about, and the bed messed up. A girl tying her hair with ribbons was also present, and in the corner of Hei's burgandy eyes was.."Yuu." He made his way his brother, snagging a type of bread off the tray, and shoving it into his mouth. "Welcome back to the land of the living. We're all here, except Taiga seems to be further down the hall or in another apartment.." Hei actually had a slight smile right now, knowing all of his brothers were safe.

To say that Michelle was frazzled and utterly confused would be an understatement, for the heiress was completely frazzled and as the number of people grew in her room, the more confused and even a little claustrophobic she became.

Now, Michelle isn't one to get frazzled (well, not like this) or has any sense of claustrophobia at all. But with Her grandmother's somewhat accusing voice in the distance and people asking questions seemingly all at once and just all this damn commotion while she was still somewhat half asleep and cranky just freaked her out. She wasn't used to this, and she didn't really know what to do nor what to say when her grandmother made it in here and started raging in.
But none of this would have happened if she hadn't bought the flowers. No, if she hadn't bought them then she'd be peacefully trying to sleep with some bird obnoxiously yapping outside and her grandmother calling her from the kitchen to go eat before the food gets cold. No, everything would have be utterly normal if she hadn't taken that shortcut and bought those damned flowers.

Instead of saying anything, Michelle's subconscious got to her and she scooted back into her blanket a bit, hoping that this was just some sort of weird dream and that Her grandmother was on her way now to wake her up and take her downstairs. And even if this wasn't a dream, it would be nice if everybody got out.

Curse you all.

Miyu Kimura

This was one of the rare nights when Miyu actually fell asleep in bed. Recently, she'd taken to sleeping at her desk, which wouldn't have such a preferable result, considering the unusual appearance of a boy in her room that morning.

Despite her actually having the energy to crawl into bed, Miyu had completely forgotten to change. As a result, she woke up in her rather creased plaid shirt and jeans.

She was so tired, the loud thud and the yelling couldn't shake her awake. However, when she was poked in the shoulder, her sleep-filled eyes cracked open. She couldn't see anything, since her head was buried under the covers, but she heard a voice saying clearly, "Ah, I don't mean any harm, it's just that I woke up here and I'm not sure where I am or where my brothers are, so if you could be so gracious as to point me in their direction, I shall do my utmost to reward you and be on my way. If you know anyone who might have bought some flowers from a strange man, that's where they'd be, if memory serves. They would be winter, fall, and spring flowers, if that helps at all. Ah, I'm talking too much again. Sorry. I just really need to find them."

A boy's voice. Startled, Miyu sat up, throwing the covers off her head, revealing her purple hair. At that, she heard the boy, whoever he was, stumble backward. Miyu guessed he must've hit the light switch, because a bright light filled the room. The boy's curious words were lost on her; instead, she stood and advanced on the boy. She noticed that he had very nice eyes that flashed golden when the light hit them.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" She assaulted him with question after question, wanting answers but mostly trying to hide the fright that she had when she discovered a strange man in her room.

Oh, she wished that there was a better way to hide her fear. As it was, her expression was clearly one of terror and bewilderment.

The girl's vibrant purple hair was rather startling to Taiga, not being familiar with the times. As the girl advanced on him, completely ignoring everything he'd just said, he found himself pressed up against the wall even more so, the light switch digging painfully into his back. Eyes flickering between watching the girl and looking for an escape, he attempted to answer the onslaught of questions.

"I'm Taiga. I woke up here. I was the bouquet of flowers that was sitting on your desk." Taiga had never really had much tact. "I'm not here to hurt you or anything. This is just where I ended up. I'll go find my brothers and then everything will be okay. You never have to see me again or whatever you like. I just need to know where they are." he found himself rambling as he edged towards the door, nearly falling as he opened it and scrambled into the hall.

Glancing down the hall, he was delighted to see Yuu, Hei, and Saku standing at the other end. "'Morning! Ah, would you mind helping me out down here? I appear to have woken an unhappy riser, so if you would be so kind as to lend me a hand..." he trailed off, eying the door he had just exited a moment before.

Alice's eyes narrowed Yuu. "Listen lady Michelle might be delicate and small but I am about your height and will not hesitate to use my wrench to bash you over he head if you treat me like a maid." Her gaze went from warm a peachy pink to cold and dark as she stared him right in the eye with not even slightest hesitation. "If you want food then just ask... Seriously ordering people will never make them do anything for you... asking like a decent human being will..." She calmed her gaze and sighed letting go of her irritation and putting on a little bit of smile.

Just then she heard a voice down the hall. "Ah... seems you've found your missing link...I'm gonna get some breakfast for all of you then be sure to make your way down..." She left and headed down stairs feeling confused and weary. She jumped down the steps and into the kitchen and began to cook away a storm for everyone... So many... people.

Hei

"Hei, what do you think the.. man, is planning? Won't we need to..." Saku made a motion with the bow and arrow, as if taking aim and letting it fly. "I don't know..." He messed with a bit of wind coming from the open window and used it to whirl the bow away from Saku. A few seconds later Hei was studying it and adjusting the string.

"I say bring it on. I'll rip out his throat with my bare hands and make him watch as I crush his vocal cords." Hei shrugged again, gripping the bow tight and holding it up as if to take aim. "You could try Mr. Barbarian, but even our powers couldn't allow us to fight against him. He had a spellbook or two back then saying we were linked to him. That guy might even have the power to kill us by destroying all the flowers we were bound too, thus relieving us of our immortality, and destroying us with magic." He finished with a rather upbeat tone unsuited for the situation. "That old lady is insane...but she's got one hell of a shot..." The whole time he was feeling the bow, he tested it out of boredom to see how good it was. Upon that finding that minor discovery. "Oh and Saku, she believes we were sent by some other spirits who may or may not exist and that we are her grandchildren."

"'Morning! Ah, would you mind helping me out down here? I appear to have woken an unhappy riser, so if you would be so kind as to lend me a hand..." Hei's eyes widened and he ran down the hall, clapping Taiga on the back and giving a brief hug before backing away. "You're late. I thought you would be smarter and find us faster. Also, try having Yukio freeze you with a breeze. Your body temperature is too high." He said with a bit of sharpness in his voice. "Also since it's your problem, shouldn't you resolve it?" Hei gave the girl in the room a wave before shoving Taiga back into the room, sliding the door shut.

Miyu Kimura

Miyu stared blankly at the boy. "You were the bouquet of flowers sitting on my desk?" she echoed, bewildered. "How can you be a bouquet of flowers? What is this - "

Her hands crept upward involuntarily and tangled themselves in her hair. This was crazy. She didn't have to take any of this. "Get out!" she screeched, pointing towards the door. She needn't have done so, he was already moving towards it, pushing it open and nearly falling out of her room. Under any other circumstances, Miyu would have laughed, but this was different.

"Morning! Ah, would you mind helping me out down here? I appear to have woken an unhappy riser, so if you would be so kind as to lend me a hand..." An unhappy riser? I'll give you unhappy riser, Miyu thought, hoping he had found Alice or Michelle, who she was sure would help her.

A black-haired boy joined the one from earlier, Taiga, was it? He looked much friendlier and Miyu felt less inclined to glare at him. He spoke quickly to Taiga, so that Miyu could only catch the last part. "Also, since it's your problem, shouldn't you resolve it?" He waved at her. Surprised, Miyu was almost ready to wave back, but then he disappointed her expectations by shoving Taiga back into her room and shutting the door.

"Hey!" Miyu raced over, trying to open the door again, but either it had gotten stuck somehow or that boy was holding it closed, because it wouldn't open. She turned on Taiga, but one glance at that face had her furious, scared and embarrassed again. Instead, she rushed over to her desk, trying to find the bouquet of flowers.

When she couldn't locate them, Miyu slumped backwards. This is insane.

Taiga

"Hei!" Taiga grinned as his fellow seasonal overseer gave him a hug and a clap on the back. He made a face, "Well, I would have, but you should know I'm a deep sleeper. Unless I fall off a table, of course." he chuckled. "And what do you mean my body temperature is too high? I'm the overseer of Summer and it was cold in that room, damn it!" he grinned and was about to say something else when Hei cut him off by shoving him back in the room and shutting the door.
"Hei! Let me out or I'll knock the leaves out of you, you idiot!" he was mostly just saying the first threat that came to mind, but he couldn't help but laugh once he realized what he'd said.
"Saa! Yuu!" he drew out the nicknames, hoping that they'd hear him and come let him out, "Please?"

He flinched as the girl with purple hair turned on him, giving him a sharp glare before she went to the desk. The sight of the scattered papers and such around the table made Taiga wince at a twinge of remembered pain in his back and blush as he realized the mess was his fault. Kneeling down, he began carefully picking up the thin white sheets and making a neat stack of them. The girl seemed to be looking for something, but it didn't occur to him what she could be looking for until he saw the bouquet of flowers caught against the underside of the desk, one bud tucked painfully behind the table leg. Crawling under the desk, he carefully pulled the blooms out, but couldn't quite get the last bloom out. Feeling a sharp pain in his chest as the bud began to break, he winced and had to stop for a moment, his right arm held protectively across his chest. After a moment he finally got the flower out safely and returned it to the bouquet before he came out from under the desk.

"Um, is this what you were looking for, miss..." he trailed off, not sure what to call her. His right arm was still crossed over his chest, but his left held the bouquet out in a cautious peace offering.

When the girl didn't respond, Taiga figured that she had decided not to speak to him or something of the like. Gingerly setting the bouquet on the desk, he backed toward the door.
"Uh.. I imagine you don't want me in here any longer, so I'll just go find my brothers." he was speaking rather softly as he slid open the door, half-surprised at the ease with which it opened.

Turning around once he was out of the room, he finally caught the smell of cooking food. Following the smell, he arrived in the kitchen just in time to see an old lady grab Hei's rear end. Chuckling, he approached his fellow seasonal overseer.

"Popular with the ladies already, Hei?" he leaned up against a cabinet and grinned.

Realizing that his body temperature was probably making Yukio uncomfortable, he quickly lowered it to a more reasonable temperature, though it was a bit on the cold side for Taiga's preferences.

Miyu Kimura

Miyu's eyes cracked open as Taiga approached her with the bouquet of flowers. He was holding them very carefully, she noticed, as though they would crumble like dust if he held them the wrong way. She continued watching him. She had become very good at reading body language, and seeing as right now she really didn't want to speak to him, she figured watching him would provide more answers.

Apparently her stare had made him uncomfortable, because he set the flowers down on the desk and edged towards the door. "Uh.. I imagine you don't want me in here any longer, so I'll just go find my brothers." Miyu nodded silently, her arms still folded across herself in a protective stance.

After he left, Miyu picked up the bouquet of flowers, examining them. One of the buds appeared to be drooping, and, feeling sorry for it, Miyu found a small vase. She opened her bottle, pouring its contents into the vase, then carefully placed the bouquet inside the vase. She stared at it for a moment, wondering if she should sketch them.

Deciding that it would help calm her down, Miyu grabbed her sketchbook and some pencils, and began drawing the flowers, putting utmost care into the drawing, allowing all other thoughts to leave her mind.

Within minutes, Miyu had completely forgotten about the boys and the answers she had been seeking, fully absorbed with her drawing.
