There was a very real possibility that, in his desperation to be loved by all the humans, Elvis may have overreacted at thought of one of them not caring for him. The thought that he had overstepped crossed his mind moments after the desperate words left his lips, and then, like most serious thoughts Elvis had, it too vanished to be replaced by his need for acceptance. White curls bounced around his head as he glanced from Ice to the table of humans and aliens he had just left, his mouth slightly parted as he tried to think of something else to say.
As more declarations of 'I'm an alien' were made by Neptune, Elvis licked his lips and tried to think of something useful to add to the conversation. He was pleased to hear that Louisa would study them either way, and felt a relieved smile settle on his face. He took a hesitant step back towards the table.
"I don't want to eat anyone." Elvis said with a laugh, his tone light as if he were telling the table that he didn't want mustard on his burger, "But uh... I hadn't really thought much more beyond getting him to stay." Elvis' shoulders sagged slightly as he realised his mistake, his mouth falling into what threatened to be a frown. He was sure his eyes were changing colour too, no doubt from an excited yellow to a sad green. Happy thoughts, that's what he needed. " But it's alright, isn't it? It'll be fun! Experiments can be fun! I read in one of their books that you can put a type of mouth freshener in a container of black sugary drink and it explores."
Elvis forced a smile onto his face and turned his attention back to Ice, though his smile faltered again at the intimidating expression on Ice's face. Elvis' eyes changed to a dark blue, fear, and he ducked his head like a school boy being reprimanded. "I, uh, I don't think... I'm not allowed to..." Elvis felt his cheeks turn red as he tried to think of how he could prove to Ice that he was indeed an alien. He shuffled from foot to foot anxiously, his hands fidgeting in front of his back. It was a bit late to backtrack now, but he didn't think he was allowed to reveal his true form in a crowded moon cafe. There must be another way...
"I'm not allowed to show you my alien form but... But I could show you our ship!"
Elvis' expression brightened once again, a grin spreading across his face as he glanced from Ice to the group at the table. He reached out a hand, as if to take Ice's, but stopped short - self-preservation finally kicking in - and instead used the motion to push locks of hair out of his eyes.
"We could do that, right? Show them our ship? That way they'd have to believe us!" Elvis felt triumphant and proud of himself for the solution, and eagerly took a pace towards the table, as if ready to pull Neptune and Ashe up and drag them to the ship with him so that they could show the humans. He turned to smile at the humans, "What do you say? Please say you'll come see it!"
