Earth: Modern

Hawk looked out from his perch. His incredibly far out perch. He was on some statue on a library. Now, most people, even ones not afraid of heights, would probably freak out from being where he was. But his wings kept him ballenced. He was looking for any sign of danger. He was basically the uber paranoid one of the group, being the leader and all. They were momentairly camped out by the library. Well, on top of it.

That was his group, his flock, that he considered his family. Maybe not blood relatives, but none the less, he looked out for them like family, being the oldest. Some of them can remember their names, from the occasional mentioning in the labs. Others had no name, and therefore took nicknames. Like him. He doesnt know what his name was, so he took the name "Hawk". The rest of his Flock were Dani, Brody, and Fury. Fury was his second in command, Dani was the best hunter (Despite his abilities, Hawk wasnt extremely good at hunting. He was decentish at cooking though, at least he thought so.

Hawk looked back to Fury, Dani, and Brody. They were his family, and he would keep them safe.

Of course, having enhanced vision from mutations kinda helped, but everyone had that. Side affect. SOmething about the bird DNA. It wasnt really a power. Oh yeah, one of the other "Gifts" they got from "The School" (which is more or less a codename for a secret evil facility that imprisons people and tests them......accurate though....).

Thats when he saw a large black van screetch to a hault below. He looked down, extremely worried and paranoid, but from what he saw, it was just quite a few of the football team going into the library for.....welll, who knows why? A party? Hawk didnt exactly know why, but then again, he just thought he probably wouldnt want to know. The librarian was screaming a few minuets later. Figures, there HAD to be a huge party below, and he couldnt go. Well he could, but he didnt want to risk it.....

Fury looks around the camp and sighs. " Hawk, Dani we need food." She could make a decent meal out of anything but she just wasn't very good at finding it. She watches Hawks face when he looks at the party, " One day we'll go to the worlds best party, Hawk." She smiles sadly " Just not today, come on we need to figure out where we are going next."

Fade was, as usual, pacing. He was making impatient laps of the rooftop while waiting for something to happen- he didn't care what it was, zombies, erasers, whatever, so long as it remedied him of his boredom. Glancing over the edge of the roof, he saw what Hawk was looking at; a group of footballers walking into the library.

Smirking when he heard the librarian scream, Fade looked up at Hawk and Fury. "I'll be right back." Keeping his wings pulled close to his back, Fade phased through the roof of the building, putting him (still phasing) into the wall.

His body went through the wall like it was sliding through butter, and when he finally poked his head out of the wall, he sighed. The jocks were nowhere in sight. Sliding through one more floor of the building, he finally caught sight of them and regretted going down there. Unfurling his wings, he used them to push himself back up to the roof. Dragging himself back onto the roof, Fade shook his head and sighed.

"That's one party I don't suggest we go to." Laying back on the roof, he closed his eyes and relaxed.

Fury smiles " Thank you, Fade." She stands up and looks through their stuff " Has anyone seen my hair brush? I can't find it."

Dani sat on top of the roof with the Flock. She was the one that was the farthest away from the rest and as close to a corner as she could get. The others seemed to be scanning the area below the library. Dani didn't care to. She didn't like people. At all. They were insignificant to her. As she sat in her corner, she stared at the ground and thought about anything and everything. But these thoughts were interrupted by Fury's mention of needing food. Dani didn't hate Fury, but she really didn't like beig told what to do by someone with no authority over her.

"Shut up and get over it you weak, pathetic little whiner. I don't need you trying to control me." she said from her corner.

She knew she shouldn't treat any member of the Flock like that, but she was in a very irritable mood. Her whole life was upside down.

" excuse me?" fury says standing up and looks at her " I am second in command, and I was just deferring to your expertise. But you know what? Fine, I just won't give you anything we get. You'll have to suffer." fury walks off to sit by hawk.

Hawk looked at both of them "Cant we all just get along?" he asked, although he then tensed up for a moment as the police arived. Then, his brain processed after like 5 seconds that they were here for those idiots down stairs. Two of them had gone outside and were leaning against the door smoking. Hawk coudlnt smell anything else because of it. The police aproached them and told them to leave. "About time" he noted quietly to himself. The jocks, in a sort of roughish, annoyed tone, just said to get the hell out of their buisness. One of the two police officers took out his radio.....

...WHen fire from an automatic weapon ripped trhough him. Now, it didnt take an idiot to realize what they really were. Smoke to cover up the smell, making everyone else leave, oh, and automatic weapons. Not to mention the voice screamed it. "Everyone, pack, NOW!" He yelled. He quickly grabbed his bag, already packed.

Now, it didnt take long for Hawk to hear large footsteps on the stairs. Footsteps that sound wolf like. Two erasers just reacehd the roof. "RUN, NOW!" he yelled, then spotting a hairbrush. He then added "Found it!" and tossed it in Fury's direction before blasting up into the air somewhat, and checking to see if anyone was still down there or if they left something important.

Fury grabs the hairbrush and tosses it in her bag. Then jumps in to the air, almost actually an eraser grabs her. She screams " go, just leave me!" she turns and looks at the eraser, " you have so much pain inside you... Let me help you." she touched him. All of the horrible things flash in her mind. " you poor, poor creature." she grabs a knife an stabs him.

"Oh come on, Dani. Get over yourself already. You think your life is messed up? You're not the only one, so get over it and work on living, alright?" Fade sat up and cast a glance at the younger girl. [/b]"I mean, you're cool and all, but your mood is really getting annoying. Do you see us sitting in a corner whining? No. We're actually trying to do something."[/b] Fade's tone was sharp.

He flinched at the sound of a gun firing in front of the library, but immediately ran over to his bag and pulled the strap over his head so that it would lay flat across his chest and hold the bag securely against his hip.

"Erasers!" Fade called out the warning and spread his wings, pushing himself into the air with strong beats.
Seeing that Fury had been grabbed by an Eraser, he swooped down and grabbed her shoulder, despite the fact that she had already stabbed the creature once. "Sorry, no time for chit-chat. Let's go." he activated his power, phasing Fury through the Eraser's claw-like hands.

" thanks fade," fury say while flying away. " I thought I was a goner."

Dani shook her head at Fade's response.

"You think I'm acting this way because of how fucked up life is? I'm not sulking in a corner. I'm just not the social type. However, get on my nerves, and as you may have already noticed, I tend to start talking." she snapped.

Before she could even think to say anything else, a gunshot went off. She quickly grabbed her bag and followed Hawk's lead. As soon as she was up in the sky, she looked back down and saw Fury with an eraser. She was about to do something when Fade took care of it. Well, that was that. She moved closer to Hawk and decided that she liked being around him over all the others.

As they fly fury notices dani move closer to hawk, *interesting....* she sighs but moves on from it. " so hawk where to next?"

Hawk looked back, making sure everyone was here. Thats when the Erasers started taking out their automatic weapons. "We need more distance! This way!". He flew fast and tried to keep their attention while everyone else got away. Thats when he saw the flagpole, and got an idea. He hit with a blast of superelectromagnetism. It attracted any metal object near it, AKA, the guns. But they were out of range, so anything they had wouldn't be affected.

Hawk then flew back to the rest. He then noted "We need to find something for shelter quick, i don't like those clouds. But we need someplace, preferably with a roof..." he noted, the last part half joking. He then looked back down at them. "And lets do it fast, i don't want any extra baggage..." he added, referring to the Erasers as extra baggage.

What they didn't know was that there was a satellite on them right now though.....

" what about that old abandoned building on 32nd?" fury asks as the fly " no one has lived there in years.."

Dani flew only far enough that she was just out of range of the Erasers. She didn't want to leave Hawk behind. As soon as he joined them again, she followed and remained silent. She didn't know of many places and was therefore useless in finding a pace to stay. Where ever the Flock was going, that's where she would go. As they flew, she listened to Hawk and Fury talk about where they should go.

"The first place anyone would look for us would be an abandoned building." she said, hoping that at least one of them would hear her say it.

Dani wasn't usually the loudest speaker unless she was mad. She looked around at the others to see if anyone had heard her speak and if they agreed or disagreed.

Fury nods." your right, well then a forest?" she says.
