Description
Luke is the definition of scrawny. He’s 5’10” with absolutely no muscle anywhere on his body. An angry toddler could probably beat him up, and not just because Luke would feel bad about hurting a little kid. The thing that confuses Luke the most is that he’s always eating, but he can’t keep any weight on. His parents, worried that he wasn’t gaining any muscle, enrolled him in a weights class. After an agonizingly painful two months, he had nothing to show from it and secretly dropped the class. He now has a job during the hours of his former class.
His hair is a mess. No matter what he tries to do with it, it just won’t cooperate. It’s so thick that it looks bad any shorter. But if it gets too long, his parents force him to cut almost all of it off and begin the process over. It grows super fast, and he seems to need a hair cut every week (in reality, it’s only once a month). He doesn’t use any gel or product and has basically given up on his hair, letting it do whatever it feels like. This usually includes getting in his face and into his mouth on windy days.
{"I’m basically an open book."}
{Naive}{Cheerful}{Deceitful}{Damaged}{Pushover}
Luke is as innocent and naive as a little kid. He’ll believe almost anything that someone tells him, unless he already doesn’t trust said person. Luke knows that this isn’t the best mindset, especially when in high school, but he still falls for the things people say every day. His naivety can sometimes also be described as avoiding reality. Deep down, Luke knows that Harper doesn’t love him in the same way he loves her, but he has pushed that thought into the deepest, darkest part of his mind. Luke is a pushover. He’ll do almost anything for anyone unless he knows it’s illegal or that it’s going to hurt him or someone else. He has a hard time saying no when someone asks nicely.
Despite the fact that he is constantly being hurt by Harper - physically, mentally, and emotionally- Luke is still a pretty optimistic guy. He’s definitely one of those “glass is half-full” types, and that probably will never change. He can usually be seen with a smile on his face, unless he hasn’t had his coffee yet. Luke is the opposite of a morning person, and he can’t function without caffeine. But besides that, he tries to find the bright side of life in every situation.
He isn’t the most honest of kids. Luke’s parents have put so many restrictions on his life that he has learned how to get away with things. He has never outright lied to his parents, but he isn’t always telling the complete truth. Luke can go around a question or answer only part of it without his parents realizing he’s done so. This usually involves a timely distraction or “accident” right after he’s finished talking, but it works. Luke prefers to be completely honest with his friends, but there are times when he has bended the truth to keep from hurting someone.
Dating Harper Cooper has taken a bit of a toll on Luke. He doesn’t have the best self-esteem in the world, he’s having a hard time hiding his cuts and scars from everyone, and he’s still madly in love with her. Luke absolutely adores Harper and would do anything for her, even at his own expense. He understands that what she’s been doing to him isn’t right or good, but Luke doesn’t care. He hates (Boy 1) and Jessica Treys because Harper is cheating on him with them, but he won’t do anything about it or confront Harper.
*If he’s talking to someone and they inadvertently say a movie quote, Luke will always have to finish the line if he recognizes it
*Along with that, Luke likes to incorporate movie quotes into his everyday conversation
*Luke bites his nails

Avoiding Reality
“Yes, I know that Harper has been hanging out with Jessica Treys and (Boy 1) a lot. But she won’t leave me. I know that she actually loves me and just doesn't have to say it each and every day.”
Double Life
“My parents are under the impression that I have a study group after school and that afterwards I go to this working out class. They have no idea that I actually have a job, that I hang out with people other than family-approved friends, and that I’m not the perfect son they think I am.”
Harper’s Abuse
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I already told you that I probably just ran into something. How could you even suggest that Harper would do this to me? Do you really think I would try to keep something like that from everyone?”
Fears/Phobias
Losing Harper
“Okay, so she may not always treat me as well as she could. But I don’t know what I’d do if I lost her. She’s really important to me. And besides, she isn’t really that bad. She just has her days, but don’t we all?”
Getting Caught
“If my parents find out about everything I do behind their back, I am so toast. They won’t care that I’m only sixteen; they will kick me to the curb. And then I’d be screwed. I’ve been saving up money in case that happens, but I have nowhere near enough to make it until I’m old enough to legally get an apartment.”
Turning into his Parents
“I don’t want everyone to know who I am just because of my parents. They definitely haven’t been the best of people to grow up with. If I ever start acting like one of them, just slap me or something. I don’t want my kids, when I have them, to be pushed into corners and told exactly what to do just to keep the family name pristine.”

History
At the age of seven, Luke officially met his parents for the first time. Right after he had been born, his mother handed him to a wet nurse without even looking at him. So for the first handful of years in his life, he was raised by a hired nurse and butler, Mary and Frank. Luke loved them like they were his parents, and they reciprocated the feeling. But according to his real mother and father, seven was the age of accountability. That was when you grew up and shunned relationships with anyone less than worthy, and that included Mary and Frank. If Luke was ever going to be a success in life, which was doubtful, he wasn’t going to make it by being friends with the poor and unconnected. He began his training the very next day.
For nine years, his parents controlled almost every aspect of his life. Who he could talk to, what classes he could take, where he could go after school, what clubs he could get involved in, and so on. They were raising him to be the perfect obedient son that existed nowhere. Luke began sneaking out after dark when he turned twelve. He realized that if he pretended to cooperate and follow his parents’ instructions, they’d leave him alone for the most part. One night, he got caught on his way out the door. In the split second he had to think, Luke managed to concoct such a spectacular dream that he was able to pass it off as sleepwalking.
When he was in his young teens, Luke’s parents began to worry about his health. The fact that he had gained no muscle bothered them. At first they suspected drugs, but a test proved them wrong. So instead, they forced Luke into a weight lifting class. It was torture for him and when nothing happened after a couple months, he dropped out. But Luke knew his parents would be suspicious if he came home, so he went to the opposite side of town and found a comic book store. Luke secretly applied for a job there and was accepted. There are several regulars to the store that know who he is, but they like him enough to not go blabbing about his job. He's been friends with (Girl 5) for about as long as he could remember. Luke isn't too sure how approving his parents would be, so he hasn't told them. But he wouldn't deny it if they questioned him. When Charlotte Damron moved to Focal Point, they just clicked instantly. The two were so alike that it would have been almost impossible for them to not be friends. And then when (Girl 5) and Charlotte met, they also became friends. So they've been like the Three Amigos for quite some time now.
The first time Luke saw Harper, it was love at first site. For him, at least. She didn’t so much as give him the time of day until she heard his last name. Almost immediately, she reeled him in. Luke was ecstatic and didn’t suspect a thing. He was always buying her nice gifts and giving her whatever she asked for. Then one day, she pulled him into the girl's locker room after school. He was both confused and excited at first, thinking that their relationship was about to go to "the next level," whatever that meant. Instead, Harper accused him of sleeping with a girl in one of his classes and asked how long it had been going on. When Luke didn't have an answer for her, she struck him in the face. Before he really had time to process what had just happened, Harper was kissing him. Hard. When she pulled away, he heard her say the three words he had been longing to hear: "I love you."
After that day, Harper's abuse just got worse and worse, but Luke couldn't bear to leave her. She said that she loved him, and that was enough. His parents even seemed to approve of Harper, probably one of the first people for that to ever happen to. If they even know about what's going on, they don't care. In their eyes, Luke needs a little toughening up anyways if he's going to take over the Jonas business. Luke has heard that Harper is flirting with (Boy 1), and he knows that she sleeps with Jessica Treys, but he doesn't care. Well, he cares, but his anger is directed towards Jessica and (Boy 1) instead of Harper, the person who should probably get the blame.

Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
Looking for you
You were looking for me
Always reaching for you
You were too blind to see
Oh love of my heart
Why leave me alone
I'm falling apart
No good on my own
Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
Why throw it away
Why walk out on me
I just live for the day
For the way it should be
There once was a time
Had you here by my side
You said I wasn't your kind
Only here for the ride
Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
No emotional ties
You don't remember my name
I lay down and die
I'm only to blame
Oh love of my heart
It's up to you now
You tore me apart
I hurt inside-out
Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
Oh l'amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
