Sun down was coming fast. With the low hanging clouds though, Milo wasn't all that sure it was a good thing. With these storms rolling in, tonight could be a total bust. Every year, thousands of multi-colored meteors rain from the night sky on one specific day. Something to do with the planet's orbital path around the sun and some other scientific crap that Milo was utterly sick of. Whatever it was though, it was the most stunning sight anyone had ever seen. On top of the storm though, he wasn't going to get any visitors. All his friends (who were really just his dad's grunts that were asked to check in on Milo every so often) were all out at sea doing god knows what to lord knows who. "A manor. Few thousand square feet and a mile of beach in either direction. All completely empty for the night. Fan-friggin-tastic." He shut off the kitchen light, grabbed a watter bottle from the fridge and sat in the front room waiting for the show to start as the horizon faded from red to purple, purple to black. With a smile, he saw the first meteor fall, a crimson tail flying in a beautiful downward arc behind it.

Trella Asp needed help. She could form no more thoughts than her name and her desperation. She clawed her way out of the crater inch by agonizing inch without giving a thought to the fact that she couldn't remember how she'd gotten there. She dragged her aching body towards the only shelter without thinking of why it was so damaged. She knew only that she was Trella Asp and she needed help and somebody -- anybody-- had to help her.

The struggle to the door of the house was endless, but eventually, Trella felt the solid oak under her hands. She pounded her fist against the door twice and then collapsed.

Myra was sitting in her five bedroom house with her family. There was suppose to be a meteor shower tonight and she wasn't going to miss it. This was suppose to be the most beautiful sight since the war started and Myra was excited to watch it. Crowding around her family on the couch outside her bedroom, she watched as the sky erupted with color. Gasps filled the room as even Myra herself couldn't stop from doing. The great meteors started to fall and her eyes widened with each. Her parents were even holding each other and smiling. The room was filled with peace as the world above her gleamed with color.

Milo's head popped up over the side of the massive arm chair. The knock at the door rang through the empty house making it impossible to miss. He tossed the water bottle on the couch and went to the door. Assuming it was some of the soldiers that his dad typically sent over, he started with "Guys I'm fine you can-" and cut himself short when he didn't see anyone outside. "What in the hell?" No one was fast enough to ding dong ditch this house and disappear. There was beach and grassland in all directions, nothing to hide behind for a mile in any way.

Then he looked down and saw her. A girl who couldn't have been the much younger than him was sprawled on his doorstep. He knelt down and grabbed her wrist, checking for a pulse. She was alive he could tell that much. "Hey are you all right? What happened?" He sat for a moment trying to figure out anything about her but realized it was pointless. "She's out cold I'm not getting anything." He slid his arms under her shoulders and legs and picked her up. "Come on let's get you inside." He brought her in and shut the door behind him. Guess it's not something you see every day huh? He thought to himself setting her on the couch. "There we go." He sat down next to her and sighed. "Guess I gotta play the waiting game now."

Trella felt herself floating in and out of consciousness. The sensation made her nauseous and afraid. One moment she was alone, curled up on someone's doorstep, then there was a hand curled around her wrist.

"Hey, are you all right? What happened?"

What happened? It was the first time she had thought about it really. She realized that she didn't know. She stretched her mind back as far as it would go, but she could only go back as far as the impact. It was like she had been born out of the violence. But she knew her name. She felt a sudden, violent need for him to know too. She felt him lay her down on something soft.

"Trella," she mumbled. She blinked her eyes open and frowned at the boy, maybe a few years older than her, but not by much. "Trella," she said again, insistently. The effort made her tired and made her throat feel raw. "Water?"

More meteors fell from sky as Myra's face lit up along with her family's. Nothing could make this night a bad one, she knew that for sure. She glanced around the room at all the faces and smiled. She hadn't seen her family this happy or peaceful in a very long time. Her brothers and sisters sat between her parents and she had placed herself standing behind them. If only Bethany had been there. She would have loved all the bright colors and emotions racing through the house. If only I was there sooner... Myra shook her head. No, she couldn't think about that. Not now. She was at rest for now. Tranquility filled her body.

It felt good to know she had no worries, just for a moment, no worries.

Milo nearly jumped off the couch when he heard her speak. He didn't expect her to be up for a good half hour. "Yeah... yeah sure, wait right here." He stood up and ran to the kitchen, grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and ran back. "Hope this helps a bit." He said cracking the seal and handing it to her. "So are you ok? I mean normally, girls don't just pass out on my doorstep."

The boy scrambled off of the couch to get the water. When he handed it to her, Trella tried to grasp it, but her arms just wouldn't respond. So she reached out with her mind to hold the bottle instead. She tipped a few swallows into her mouth and then set the bottle on the floor. "Thank you," she mumbled.

"So are you ok? I mean normally, girls don't just pass out on my doorstep." Trella studied the boy in earnest for the first time. He was taller than her, he would tower over her had she been sitting up. He had pale blue eyes, watching her with concern and confusion.

"I don't know..." she whispered. "Where am I? Who are you?"

Milo rubbed his eyes in astonishment. "Ummm i'm Milo. Milo Thatcher." He said trying to dismiss what he just saw. "And you're at my house. Don't worry you're safe here. But my only question is, do you remember anything before coming here or are you just lost?" He wasn't trying to be rude but it was suddenly aware that no one on the island would be out if they knew what tonight was. And everyone on the island did.

The question made Trella's head hurt. "I don't remember," she groaned. "I... I fell for a long time and then I was here. I can't... I don't know. I guess that makes me lost, then, doesn't it?" Why couldn't she remember anything before the last ten minutes? Now, on top of feeling tired, sick, and hurt, she felt panicked. "That's not normal, is it?" she whispered. "Why can't I remember?"

Milo grabbed her shoulders lightly. "Listen, you just need to relax. Trying to remember will only push them away." He smiled reassuringly at her, trying to calm the panic behind her eyes. "I'll be honest with you. Yes, it does mean your lost, but you can stay here as long as you need to. No it's not normal, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to fix. Lastly, I don't know why. It's just a guess but I think your lack of memories has to do with why you got hurt. I know one thing though. I'll be happy to help you find out what happened." He let go of her arms. "Now, what do you know for sure? Don't try to force things, just tell me what comes naturally."

There was an instant after he grabbed her shoulders that his touch made her panic worse, not better. She tensed up and suddenly-- miraculously-- a face burst through the wall in her memories. Someone had hurt her. A man who looked like Milo, but without his kind eyes. This panic only lasted a moment and then she relaxed completely. Milo had said that he would take care of her. She could trust him... right?

He told her to relax and let things come to her naturally. She closed her eyes and tried. "My name is Trella Asp and I'm 17... you look like someone I know," she said. She frowned. "Something bad happened... something about my father. I don't have a mother... Milo, what's today? Something important happened today."

Milo smiled, pleased that she had remembered at least her name but confused. He didn't know anyone who looked like him, at least not off the top of his head. It wasn't that important though. What was important was that she remembered something. "Trella huh? That's a nice name." He really got hit though, when she mentioned that she had no mother. She was like him, at least a tiny bit. "Don't worry Trella, I'll help you figure everything out. Whatever it was, if we can fix it I'll be more than happy to help." He smiled and glanced out the window. "And as for today, it's the Night of the Falling Sky, the twenty sixth of the month."

A meteor broke into the atmosphere, burning in a deep cool shade, so dark it actually stood out more in the night if it caught your eye. It shone dimly in the night sky but when in a crowd of falling stars, it took on a cold violet that forced its way through to be seen. Like a mortar, the purple tailed meteor plummeted to the ground with a powerful arch, crashing down into a small shallow creek, smashing into the planet's crust, making a crater 100 meters wide as the meteor's landing place. The whole island trembled at the impact. Water from the creek poured slowly down into the crater from dozens of sides, pooling around the burning rock from space, cooling and extinguishing it. Then once again, the Earth was still and calm, as if nothing had happened at all.

Myra had gone to get herself a bottle of water from the endless supply when her parents yelled at her to come quick. Her senses overtook her body as she shot into the living room. What she saw was breathtaking. Another huge meteor was about to hit the island. Bracing herself, she held fast to the counter. Her parents looked at her with scared eyes. They had only a short amount of time before impact.

"Myra, you stay here, watch the house. We are taking everyone else to the safe house." Her parents were already scooping up children. "What do you mean!" She shouted.

Her father stared at her. "Myra, we have to get the children to safety. We will return when we know what the army's plans are. For now, you know where the battle plans are, keep them safe. This night may change everything."

Within minutes, her family was gone, and she was left alone. She gasped as the meteor lit up the sky, then fell to the earth, creating an earthquake.

Suddenly like a bomb, the meteor exploded into a dozen large chucks of space rock, most blasting into the crater walls, some flying out crashing into trees, breaking them down like they were tooth picks. Standing in the middle of crater, where the meteor rested was a tall muscular man with liquid white hair and no clothing, a large detailed red tattoo that ran from his tail bone up to his head and down his right eye. He dropped to his knees and collapsed into the water pooling from the creek. "What... happened...?" the man spoke weakly as he blacked out.

Myra inhaled deeply after the impact, praying her family was alright. She cautiously walked across the living room to her door and stepped outside. She knew there was a strict warning about exiting safety during these types of things, but something was different about this meteor. Squinting her eyes, she saw a figure rise from the flying debris. "There is no way..." There was definitely something, or someone, out there. Nothing was happening though, was she the only one who was seeing this?

Slipping on her dark sweatshirt over her slightly curvy body, she slipped into the shadows of the city. She had to find out what was out there. Running as swiftly and stealthily as she could, she arrived at the sight of impact. Myra could feeling the adrenaline buzzing through the air as she approached a man on his knees. An astonishing tattoo covered the back of his naked body, making her gasp. Who is this person? Carefully slipping off her sweatshirt, she leaned over the man, placing it on his shoulders. Stepping away slightly, she talked to the man, in a low voice. "Who are you?"

With the sound of a feminine voice breaking through the silence, the man awoken with a harsh gasp and slowly forcing himself onto his fore arms. He groaned weakly as he reached up with his right hand and held his head in pain. "Wh-what? Where am I...?" He slowly stood up, still holding his head, the sweatshirt draped over his shoulders did nothing to cover his well-toned, chiseled body. He slowly looked up at the owner of the voice that woke him with his unearthly yellow eyes.

Myra gasped and took a step back when the man turned to face her. He was extremely handsome but frightening at the same time. He wasn't like any being she had seen. She wanted to stay there, contemplate what had happened, but in the distance, officials were already coming to asses the damage. She crouched down next to the man. "Did you just..." No he couldn't have came from that meteor, it would be impossible.

The officials were getting closer. She gently grasped his shoulders and slid the sweatshirt off his back. "Here, use this. We have to get to my home before someone sees you. Please hurry." She ushered him to move towards her house, only about 300 feet away. Where could this guy come from? I can't just turn him in, what if he's one of us?

With uneasy precision and focus, the man put on the sweatshirt his founder had gave him, which came down over four of his six pack abs. He did not understand what was going on, but this beautiful young woman seemed to want to help. Holding his head in throbbing agony, he moved as the girl led him to, staggering and stumbling lightly like a drunk to the girl's house. If his head did not hurt so badly, he may have thought of all the possible concequences for following this girl. Like she could be leading him to a trap, or away from help. But even through his wooziness he felt as though he could trust this woman, and his gut told him to trust his instincts.

Myra led the strange man into her living room had him sit on the couch. She quickly ran to the door to bolt all three locks, then taking down the blinds and locking the windows around the house. She took a deep breath and realized the guy still didn't have any pants on. She went to the back of the house where her parent's room was and opened her father's dresser. She sorted through his clothes until she could find a pair of sweatpants and a large t-shirt which had the word 'protect' on it. Remembering to grab boxers, she slowly walked into the room and handed the man the clothes.

"Here, you must be cold, and I doubt you want to wear a girls' sweatshirt all day." Myra stepped back and tried to grasp what was happening. He obviously wasn't going to hurt her, but what was he here for. He didn't seem to know anything, maybe the meteor hit him. There's no way someone could survive an impact such as that though... She turned to grab her water bottle, still astonished.

Trella almost sat up, but her injuries kept her flat on the couch. Still, a bright smile slid across her face. Memories, bright and wonderful and clear. "I know that name! I remember this night! I..." Her smile dimmed. She could remember what the night was, watching the night sky with her father and... anticipating something. She remembered feeling as if someday, she would be old enough... but that didn't make any sense.

"Milo... the things I remember aren't right... I'm so tired..."

As he sat on this girl's couch, holding his head, the throbbing pain made him feel like his head spinning. What is happening...? Wh-where am I? He sat up slowly as the girl cam back into the room, bringing him clothing. He looked up at her dizzily, making his golden eyes focus onto her. "Thank you, miss..." He slowly stood up, and stripped off the sweatshirt, once again standing naked before his founder. He dressed in the clothes she gave him slowly so not to lose balance and collapse, it took him longer than it would normally take to dress one's self but he focused mainly on not falling or blacking out again. Once fully clothed, the man sat back down, feeling dizzy and weak.

Myra stood next to the man, hoping he wouldn't fall. When he sat back down on the couch, she handed him her water bottle. Then she decided to raid her fridge for some food. Pulling out a couple baked potatoes, she found a plate and a fork, glancing back and forth between the man and the task at hand. She grabbed some shredded cheese and sour cream from the fridge, along with bacon bits.

Walking back into the living room, she set the food in front of him. "Sorry, I don't really know what you want, and I can't use the microwave because of the meteor showers." She slowly sat down next to the man and stared at him. "Oh, I'm Myra."

"Me-meteor shower...?" Why does that seem so familiar...? He tried to think of why could the meteors seem important but his thoughts were disrupted by the girl sitting down next to him. He looked over to her with his deep yellow eyes, that seemed to study every curve of her body.

"Oh, I'm Myra." She said to him.

He slowly formed the word with his smooth and seductively toned voice, "My-ra...?" Even through his pain and weakness, he couldn't help but act like a gentlemen for this beautiful young woman. "I-it's a pleasure, Lady Myra... A beautiful name for a beautiful girl..." He began to feel light headed once again. "I am..." He held his head again as if straining to remember, wincing in pain. "I am Sairus...?"
