Personality
Annalise has always been calm, quiet, and tolerant of those around her. She has always been sheltered by Emilia, as the two are extremely close. For the majority of her life that dynamic had suited her well, sheltered from life’s harsher realities. She grew up with little cynicism for the world, only a wholehearted trust that when trouble appeared Emilia and her parents would protect her. As Annalise grew, this constant protection became a problem for her. Constantly shielded by her sister, Annalise has never been able to prove her strength. Others see her as weak, lacking the fortitude that makes Emilia such an efficient leader. Annalise always aims to prove that she is just as strong as he sister is.
She’s naturally empathetic to those around her, when Annalise comes across someone severely depressed she’ll show them whatever kindness she can to ease their minds. She’s not a saint, but if she has the capacity to help someone who’s at the end of their rope, she won’t hesitate to do so.
Annalise is as sociable as any woman her age, and can go from a bored, apathetic girl when forced into something she holds no interest for, to a bubbly, laughing young woman who draws people in with her charisma. A quick, sarcastic sense of humor has her easily rebutting to friendly jokes, while long sighs, rolled eyes, and mocking remarks are common when she addresses the older members of the French court, this often gets her into trouble with her parents but most of the time she just can't help it.
