Jack Green's Story

"Maybe not...but maybe they're still as horrible as I've been told...this ones probably the only friendly one.." Kioni said quietly to Nightfur.

Suddenly an orange tabby cat walked through the cave, asking to speak with Kioni privately. Kioni agreed to speak with the younger looking cat and the two set off to where Kioni discussed clan matters with others. This cat however was not a member of the clan, though Kioni had seen him walking around the outside of the territory. "Well, what did you want to discuss....?" Kioni asked and sat near a tree.

"I'm....Flametail...And I've come to ask if you'd let me join your clan. I've recently been abandoned by my old one and have been looking for a new clan." The cat said. This particular cat really wasn't a cat at all though, it was intact a young man with an incredible power. Kioni thought for a long time about the young cat before him, decided that he could be trusted, and agreed to have him enter as a new member to the cave clan. "I'll allow it...But, if you hurt anyone, you're out. And you;ll be lucky to escape unharmed. Is that clear? " Kioni stated. The tabby nodded and the two walked back to the cave, Once there kioni motioned to everyone in his family, introducing them to the new cat. "Everyone, this is Flametail, the newest member of our clan, please do your best to make him feel welcome." Kioni said as he walked over to Nightfur. The tabby motioned a hello to everyone before seating himself on the other side of kioni, eyeing the human slightly, he had swoon that he saw her somewhere.

Nightfur smiled and walked towards the newcomer Flametail. "Ah, hello! If you're going to be part of Cave Clan, I'd best show you around the cave huh? Kids, wait until I've set Flametail in before you pester him ok?" Misty and Orchid nodded in agreement, whilst Jenna looked at the new cat, feeling strange about him. Why is it that I don't feel... Normal? It's weird... She shrugged it off, and sighed. "Well, talking about houses was great guys, but I'd like to get some fresh air now ok?" She stretched, and walked out the cave, pushing the branches out of the way and sitting on the edge of the cliff, the view settling her mind. Who was this Flametail, why was he here really, why did she even care?

Misty sighed and finished his salmon. He had been so busy with Zuri and Jenna, he'd clean forgotten about Hope and the graveyard. He turned around to Orchid, and cleared his throat. "Hey Orchid, uh, can I talk about something?" Once he had Orchid's attention, he told her everything that had happened, ever little detail, and once he finished, he reckoned she was as puzzled as he was. "So... What do you think?"

Thank you miss Nightfur." 'Flametail said and followed Nightfur around the cave, commenting on how very big it was. Onc the tour was over they headed back over to Kioni, the kits weren't around any longer though, nor was the human girl. 'Flametail' was very curious about the young woman who was now sitting at the edge of the cave, he had seen her around somewhere but couldn't remember exactly where. He dismissed the thought and chatted with Kioni about how things went in the clan and what was acceptable and what was not.


Orchid sat there puzzled for a while thinking over what happened. Suddenly a lightbulb went on in her mind."Maybe its your gift Misty! You can talk to those who have passed on. Thats so cool! " She said looking at him with a grin. She was happy that he had discovered his power, quite early too. "Its a really cool power, you'll have to keep me updated on how Hope is." She said, remembering her brother. She had missed him even though he died young.

Misty was puzzled, and tilted his head, wondering why Orchid would be so interested in Hope. Then it clicked. "Oh my goodness! Hope is the name of-" Misty gasped, and the excitement of discovering his power and realising Hope was his brother caused him to jump happily in the air. "This is so cool!" Misty cleared his throat and stopped jumping, sitting down and grooming himself instead."Anyway. Have you got any progress on what your power may be?" He looked at Orchid, restoring his usual composure.

Nightfur had finished the tour and paced outside to sit with Jenny. "Want to come inside now?" Jenny looked down at her and smiled. "Sure, might as well meet this Flametail fellow." she stretched and walked into the cave. She saw that Flametail was busy talking with Kioni, so she sat down against the cave wall and waited.

"I haven't made any progress....maybe I'm one of those cats who never gets one. Maybe my power is having endless energy." Orchid said. It was true she hadn't the slightest idea what her power was. The other cats her age had all gotten theirs, and now so had misty, Orchid was beginning to think that she would never get hers.


Kioni had explained all the rules to 'Flaimetail' and he'd excused himself to do some business with the elders of his old clan. 'Flametail sat quietly observing the cave, noticing that the human girl had come back, he still couldn't figure out where he had seen her, and it was bothering him quite a bit. He looked at her for a while until she looked at him, he then turned his head to the fireflies on the cave wall, watching them glow brightly.

Jenna saw that Flametail had stopped talking with Kioni, and decided to go sit with him, and meet him. She stood up, and groaned, her bones creaking slightly. The sunset slipped into the cave between the tree branches, lighting everything in a delicate glow. The orange and pink tones shone down on Jenna's cherry red hair, setting it in a perfect glow. She gently tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, but it looked like she was tucking a lick of red flame away.

She straightened out her striped shirt, and started walking towards Flametail. The fireflies buzzing about made a light buzz, and she could understand their little cries of excitement. It calmed her for some reason. A few fireflies landed in her hair, almost in the shape of a crown. She sat down next to Flametail, and just sat with him in silence and watched the fireflies go about their business with him.

Misty saw her sit down, and nudged Orchid. "Hey sis, let's see the outcome of this!" Misty was amazed by how stunning Jenna looked in the lighting and with fireflies in her flowing red hair, he was astounded that Jenna could even look that pretty, considering she was a human. It amused him.

Flametail sat quietly till the human girl got up and sat near him. He watched as the lightening bugs landed on her hair in the shape of a crown. She was quite beautiful, if he wasn't a cat at the moment he would have said so. Unfortunately both of them here quite quiet. "Uhm...Hello." He finally spoke after a minute. It was awkward to just sit there like that.


Orchid listened to her brother and turned her attention to the new cat and Jenna. "She's very pretty for a human." She said quietly to her brother. Orchid always thought that humans were ugly horrible creatures, but that wast true at all, at least it wasn't the truth about Jenna. She was nice, beautiful, and kind, Orchid enjoyed her company.

Jenna looked down at Flametail and smiled at him gently. "Hi." She sat awkwardly, not knowing exactly what to say, seeing as what was on her mind was difficult to say without being rude. She knew Flametail was hiding something, but she didn't know what. "So uh... Welcome to Cave Clan, I'm human so I guess I'm not meant to be part of a cat clan, but I did save their lives, and they looked after me, so I don't know. Why am I even saying this to you?" She laughed, shaking her head gently so as not to disturb the fireflies sitting there. "It's like there's something about you, that an average cat doesn't have..." She squinted at Flametail, then sighed. "Anyway, welcome to Cave Clan. I suppose I'd better go now, my mum will start to worry." She knew it was absurd to worry about something like that at her age, but she didn't care.

Misty watched Jenna, and paced over to her to say goodbye. He rubbed her leg and purred. "Good Night Jenna, come back soon okay?" Jenna chuckled and crouched down to pet Misty, the fireflies hovering around her head in a sort of halo now, preparing to leave. "I'll come back when I can, but I've got other stuff too Misty eye." She then pet Orchid too before standing again and heading to the exit. She saluted Nightfur and Kioni lightly and smiled. "See you later, maybe tomorrow, not sure yet, good night anyway." She smiled again and left the cave, heading home whilst the fireflies flew back to their end of the cave, soaring past Flametail on the way back.

Flametail listed as the young woman babbled on, shifting nervously at her comment about him. She continued on about her mother worrying about her. 'Why would she be worried about that at her age?' He wondered. He shook it off as Kioni started to speak to him.

Kioni nodded at Jenna when she left then turned to Flametail. "Well, since you're part of the family now your hunting skills will need to be evaluated. But we can do that in the morning. Theres an extra bed over there, you can drag it anywhere you want to and settle down for the night." Kioni said as he went over to his own bed and layed down, waiting for night fur to join him. "Ok kiddos, bed time!" He said and the two young kits scurried to their beds, Orchid mumbling about how she wasn't tired. Ironically she was the first to fall asleep. Flaimetail pulled his new bed up to the left of the fireflies and plopped down in it. He wasn't worried about his dad not knowing where he was, his father was too busy most of the time to even care. Soon he fell asleep along with the rest of the clan, dreaming soundly about what could happen next.

Nightfur walked over to the bed and yawned. She lay down next to Kioni, wrapping her tail around his, smiling happily. "Isn't great we've already got another member of the clan?" She closed her eyes, sighing in bliss, rubbing her muzzle against Kioni's, whilst Misty got into his bed a little sloppily, as the dark settled in, weakening his sight even more. He lay awake for a while, listening to the sounds of the night. The sounds of crickets, frogs and the river down below the cave. He pondered over his new power, and couldn't wait to experiment with it. He was just falling asleep when Hope appeared before him. Nightfur knew he would look weird speaking to an invisible cat to the new cat, so he paced outside so they could speak. "What is it?" Hope looked up at him and smiled, almost pitifully. "You're in danger. Not yet, but you will be soon. Be wary." Misty frowned, and was going to say something when Hope shushed him. "Don't worry. There's time yet. Go to sleep now." Misty suddenly felt very sleepy, and yawned. He walked into the cave, lying down on his bed, falling asleep easily.

It was early boring and Flametail got up to hunt to prove that he had hunting abilities. No one was around or awake yet so he exited the cave, went out into the forest to a small pond near a random house. Here he returned to his human form. As always his clothes morphed with him so he was never naked after changing back. He took his shirt off, not wanting to get it wet, and waded into the water. With a sigh he wandered to the deepest part where the water made it up to the middle of his torso. He enjoyed the rather cold and refreshing waters here, and it reminded him of the times when he was little and his family used to live next door to the house he was by now.


Kioni woke up and stretched, noticing that the newest member of the clan had headed out already. He looked around at his family then flew off and hunted down breakfast. He would leave lunch hunting to the new guy.

Jenna woke up, and smiled happily, remembering the occurrences of the previous day. She got up, and left a note to her mum saying she would be gone most of the day. She left an XOXO and a drawing of a cute cat at the end, before heading out the door towards the forest. Jenna took a deep breath of the early morning air, grinning happily as the smells of the forest met her nose. She said a friendly hello to the butterflies and birds, her red hair bouncing behind her. She was in a great mood. She was at the edge of the forest when she saw Flametail come out of the trees.

She quickly hid behind a large tree so he wouldn't see her, and her brow furrowed.What's Flametail doing here? She peeked around the tree just in time to see him morph into a human. She opened her mouth wide in shock and shoved her fist in her mouth to stop herself from gasping and quickly hid behind the tree again. She took a deep breath, and took another peek. This time "Flametail" Was topless and in the water. Jenna felt dizzy, and quickly leaned against the tree, but her knees wobbled, and her legs gave out beneath her. She sat down on the forest floor far too quickly, and made a thud and a crack thanks to the twigs and branches below her. She winced, closed her eyes, and stood up slowly, coming out from behind the tree, knowing that Flametail had heard her. She stood stiffly in front of the pond, her hands in little outwards fists beside her as she awaited whatever was going to happen.

Meanwhile, Misty and Nightfur were just waking up. Nightfur looked at Misty and smiled tiredly. "Wake up your sister will you?" Misty groaned and walked over to Orchid, shaking her groggily. "Come one Orchid, time to wake up." He yawned and kept shaking her, whilst tickling her with his tail, knowing that should wake her up.

Jack was enjoying his morning dip in the pond and had closed his eyes to relax in the cool waters when all of the sudden he hear twigs snap and something crash to the ground. "What in the heck was that...." He said to himself whilst getting out of the water. There was the girl from yesterday, Jenna, standing at the edge of the pond quite awkwardly. "Uhm, miss? Are you okay?" He asked as she continued to stand there. He wasn't sure if she had seen him change or not but it really didn't matter, everyone would find out eventually. "What are you doing here this early in the morning? " He questioned as he put his shirt back on. For a human girl she sure was up and about at quite an early time.


Orchid woke up and stared blankly at Misty for a minute before yawning then stretching. "Why does it have to be morning already?" She questioned then nuzzled her mother as a good morning. "Can i play with a new kit i met today mom? I would ask dad but he's not here and he will never let me go off by myself..." Orchid asked her mother.

Jenna opened one of her eye awkwardly, and knew that Flametail hadn't realised she saw him change she sighed and stepped forward, talking quickly. "I'm Jenna Davison, I'm 18 years old, and I have a special power that allows me to talk to animals. I dye my hair often and I live alone with my mum. I just saw you now, and I have two words. Just two." She stopped right in front of Flmaetail, nose to nose with him, her eyes a mixture of mystery and something deep inside her. "Hello Flametail."

Nightfur groomed her kit's fur, and purred. "Who is this kit? Do I know them?" She went and caught a firefly for a snack, it's zingy flavour meeting her tongue. She turned back to her daughter and smiled."I'll let you go if you tell me who they are and if your dad says it's ok when he gets back. Alright?" She muzzled her daughter and beckoned to Misty. "Come on, give your old mum a big hug. Both of you." She grinned as Misty and Orchid piled on top of her, happy for what she had.

"Ahaha....So you saw me huh? Please don't tell anyone." He said, it didn't bother Jack that she knew, she didn't seem to be weirded out by it so it was fine with him. "Anyways. Im Jack Alexander Green, Age 20, I have the ability to shape shift into whichever animal i want, I live here alone with my father in the house at the top of the mountain." He said, while putting his shirt back on and backing away from her a little.


Orchid tackle hugged her mom happily hugging her tightly. "No mom you don't know this kit and neither does dad, but i met them yesterday and they've invited me to play with them today. And dad will never let me go, you and i both know that. He's much too overprotective." Orchid said sounding very much like a responsible young adult, hoping her mother would let her go without asking Kioni.

Kioni had bought snout fish for them and started flying back to the cave. Upon entering the cave he saw his family hugging each other and he smiled and chuckled a bit. "Breakfast time guys" He said plopping the food don for everyone.

Jenna grinned and put a finger to her lips. "Not a word." She then frowned. "You're going to have to tell them eventually you know." She sighed then grinned happily. "Anyway, race you there!!" She laughed and raced through the trees, her red hair flowing behind her as she drew closer to the cave. She laughed happily, her life was getting more exciting by the minute.

Nightfur muzzled Kioni as the kits dug in to their food. She then spoke quietly while the kits were distracted."Kioni, Orchid wants to go out and play with a kit she met, will that be okay? She's apparently very excited, and it would be a real downer for her if she didn't go." She licked Kioni behind the ears, purring as she did so. She hoped he would say yes, as she knew he had to let their kids have a bit of free rein. After all, they were almost teens.

Jack Chuckled and tuned into a bird, flying high above the treetops ahead of Jenna. "Ha! you never layed down any rules!" He called to her as he swooped down and flew next to her for a minute. He flew close to the ground and turned into his usual cat self again and sprinted ahead of her, soon reaching the entrance to the cave and hoping up to where everyone else was. He waited for her and when she came running in he just wait there and grinned. "I win."

Kioni nuzzled Nightfur and purred happily. "I suppose she can, i can't keep her locked away forever, she's just as stubborn and strong willed as I am. " He said in a low voice. "Next time she wants to meet this other kit it will have to be here so we can meet them too." He added, pulling out a piece of fish and chomping into it. " Ah, hello Flametail." He said as the younger cat burst through the entrance of the cave and sat down, seemingly waiting for someone or something.

Jenna swore and ran faster, catching up way after Jack had gotten there. He was already Flametail, and talking to the others. She retained a normal composure, and caught her breath back before she climbed up to the cave. She stepped in, smiling at all of them. "Hello! How are we all?" She grinned at the two kits eating who looked up and rushed to her to say hello. She laughed as they grabbed her legs. She picked them both up, smiling. She rubbed faces with them, giggling as she did so. She put them down, happier. "Your whiskers tickle!" She laughed and sat down against the cave wall. She took a piece of the fish out and took a bite or two. "You all good? No attacks?" She raised an eyebrow, knowing it was unlikely, but she still wanted to know. "And why is this zuri so obsessed? Where is she anyway?"

"No attacks since yesterday, and it seems she's left. " Kioni said. He wasn't going to explain why zuri was so obsessed, he didn't like to remember that she even existed anymore. He finished his fish and plopped it down the bin where the family threw the bones. It was getting full, he would have to haul it out and empty it eventually. Scavengers like dogs usually picked up the bones after he disposed of them so it wasn't like he wasn't just dumping them.

Orchid mewed happily and batted at jennas shoes again. they were so pretty that she couldn't help it. "Well your hair tickles too you know!" She said with a giggle then looked at there mom with the, 'can i go? please mommy can i?' look and then waited with pleading eyes.

Nightfur frowned and pouted slightly."Aw sweetie I don't think you can..." She then laughed at Orchid's expression and jerked her head at the door. "Go on then." She watched Orchid race out the door with a grin on her face before turning to Misty. "You wanna go too?" Misty shook his head, and licked his paw. "No thanks, but I'd like to visit grandfather if that's okay?" Nightfur looked at Kioni then nodded. "Yes that's okay with me anyway." She groomed her son's scruff, and spoke in between licks. "Flametail could escort you and introduce himself to the Woodclan, and ask others if they'd like to join perhaps?" She looked between Kioni and Flametail, hoping this idea would go down well.
