Angel could feel as he lay down on the bed, a smile creeping across her face again as she made her way above the covers and moved closer to him, turning her body to its side and resting her head and the left side of her body upon his. She hummed softly to herself as she closed her eyes, feeling it in her bones as the moon began to slowly descend and the sun make its own rise into the sky. Though her body was lifeless, she could swear that she felt something beating in her chest. Almost as though her heart was pounding. Of course, it couldn't be. But she liked to imagine that it was. “Mi amor...”, she whispered softly before slipping into her dead sleep, holding close to him as though afraid that she would wake and he wouldn't be there, savoring the moment and wishing she could stay awake longer. The next day went by quickly, the activities of the passengers under the sun eluding Angiluzza as she lay unmoving in her bed. As the night came, her eyelids fluttered rapidly before she finally lifted them fully and found herself staring at the ceiling. She rose up slowly and stretched out fully with an unnecessary yawn. They had arrived in Paris and would be departing from the ship within the hour. She glanced around and found herself unable to spot Garth...or Hathus. She wasn't quite sure which name he wanted to go by at this point in time. Regardless, she took her time packing up her things and taking a hot shower before changing into a soft green chiffon dress and sexy stilettos and taking up perch again on the balcony. She lifted her chin and turned her head to the side some as though the noon warmed her, her eyes closing as she basked in its light. She eventually left the comforting lunar light to reenter the bedroom only to grab her bags and leave the bedroom for the deck. She moved towards the side where they were unloading, eager to be the first one off of the ship. While she loved the motion of the ocean and the solidarity that came from cutting oneself off front the rest of the world by floating around in the middle of the ocean, she still was not keen on the idea of possibly falling overboard. She wouldn't drown, no. Not in the human sense, but she would hyperventilate and water would flood her lungs. While it wouldn't kill her, or even harm her, it would fuck with her psychologically as she sank twenty thousand leagues under the sea to be forgotten where she tt ottld starve until insanity and eventual death within the next few centuries. A most unappealing idea indeed. No. she wanted to see how Paris had changed since her last visit. She always did like the city; It was a place bountiful in amazing art in all of its forms. She was excited to visit the Louvre. She hadn't been there yet and had heard only wonderful things about it. But at this very moment, she found her thoughts centered solely on her Maker as she looked anxiously through the crowd for him. She had to stop herself from biting down on her bottom lip, unable to keep her fangs sheathed. It wasn't something that she had to deal with before. But then again, she had never been so intimate with him as she had been last night. It was a simple series of small kisses followed by sleeping upon him, but it was more than she had with...anyone. She found herself suddenly noticing things about him she hadn't bothered to before. She had fallen in love with his personality. but it was as though she was finally able to see his body. His finely chiseled body. “Garth!” She called out for him, again seeking for his face through the crowd. “Hathus!!

Before Angel had awoken the next evening, Garth was already on the move. With the memory of last night still fresh in his mind - her kisses, her head and soft body resting on his, everything - Garth had slipped away from underneath her to prepare for their exit, gathering anything that had strayed throughout the room and packing his meager belongings away. His jacket was cleaned, along with his body, and he then donned a black t-shirt underneath of his leather jacket. His mind constantly drifted away form his work, however, as his thoughts kept going back to Angel. The future suddenly looked much more promising, and yet at the same time it also made him much more cautious. Angel had always meant a lot to him, but he put her at the same level as his leader - his feelings for her were one of patron and protector, not of lover and partner. This lofted Vani up above leader to something else, one that he would take any procaution necessary to protect from harm. Yet wasn't that what he did with his Leader? Garth's mind kept going in circles, but all he could come up with was the fact that Angel meant more to him than his own life.

Garth left the room completely to go to the top balcony of the boat, his thoughts restless and aggravated. He couldn't focus on much of anything, besides Angel. Yet he knew that these constant blithering thoughts always brought disaster upon the future: it happened with his love for Ado, and even with Aphrodite. So he knew he should control his thoughts for the best, and yet he also didn't want to. Part of Garth just wanted to let his mind soar with thoughts of happy nothings - but Garth refused to let that happen. Instantly he thought of ways of release, ways of distraction, to which he pulled out that infuriating black box society called a 'cellphone' and dialed a number. When a voice was finally at the other end, it was in a light and refreshing french. "Bonjour. C'est Monsieur Lefebvre. Monsieur Agnès est absent actuellement, je peux prendre un message?"

Garth almost smiled at his voice, but began to speak in his standard voice. "Matthew, c'est Garth. Nous chercher à la marina dans une heure, si vous voulez." The other end went silent for a second, before a quick laugh escaped the man before the return to sincerity. "Très bien, M. Agnes. Heureux de vous appeler avant de se présenter." Garth could sense the attempt to contain laughter in Matthew's voice, but he dismissed it as they began idle chat. Matthew Lefebvre was his butler of 15 years, after the death of his last butler - the kid had apprenticed under the latest butler for 3 years before taking the position. Through that time, Garth was skeptical that this boy would be a good butler - starting at the age of 10, he was a sassy kid from the start, and Garth was unsure of whether or not he would be able to tolerate him. However, the kid grew on him, and he even was able to reveal his true identity to the kid without it even fazing him. If he could recall and translate, Matthew simply stated: "Well, I've been with worse."

Nevertheless, Matthew was a good man, one that Garth really didn't want to have to replace. The idea had crossed his mind a few times to make him a vampire, but at the same time it wasn't a very good idea. Matthew expressed a mild interest in vampirism, so if he decided that he hated it, Garth would lose one of his few human friends. Back on track, Garth did not realize that he had talked with Matthew for quite a long time, and descended down the stares. Almost to the loading bay, Garth heard a call ringing out, and instantly his protective instincts fired up. Angel's voice was easily determined by his ears, and he found her instantly - and almost stopped dead. Her dress was stunning, and she herself was just as beautiful. A smile crept onto his lips as he made his way down the stares behind her, approaching her silently before he was right behind her. Reaching out, Garth seized her hips from behind and pulled them both together, his head now above her shoulder as he murmured. "It is hard for us to remain inconspicuous when you dress like a princess, my little one - the calling out of two different names probably doesn't help either." While his voice always remained monotonous, there was a rare hint of teasing in his voice. Something about Angel could put him in this mood, and he didn't mind it in the slightest.

Angel smiled, leaning back into her Maker's grip. She was going to enjoy cuddling in the future. For now, she slid to the side some, letting her hand slip into his with a soft giggle. Her gaze fell to the ramp as it was lowered to the dock, allowing her to feel relief all throughout her body. “Oh please. This is Paris - I'm absolutely drab compared to most of the others. Their dresses are Versace, Gucci, and Diamonte. I bought this from K-Mart back in New York.” She gave a light grin as she walked and talked with him, pausing and moving to the side so the others could move past them. “Shall I continue calling you Garth as I always have? Or would you prefer Hathus? Perhaps I should just call you Lover.” The grin became a smirk with a touch of smuguess as she leaned upwards on her toes, letting her lips part and graze against his lightly. “Mi amor.” Her voice was a light whisper as she closed her eyes and rested her head against his chest before looking back up at him. “So: Where to next and do we have a car to fetch us?” Her head canted to the side some as she moved her arms to drape around his shoulders, clasping her hands together at the nape of his neck, letting her thumbs stroke his chilled flesh.

A soft hand slid into his accompanied by a giggle as they walked towards the ramp. Garth was still spinning slightly at how fast everything between them had gone - especially after the norm he had gotten used to over the past 800ish years. True, it was going to be difficult for him to break out of a few habits that some would see as 'unromantic' or 'unsociable' but as with all things that were worth committing to, this would require quite a bit of work and information gathering to fully understand. After all, the last relationship he had been in wasn't entirely 'healthy' unless you consider an insatiable sex demon with little interest in humanity a suitable companion. Angel's body relaxed immensely as soon as they stepped on land, something he completely understood after her little episodes of inability to swim.

When she spoke about how she looked completely 'drab' - whatever that entirely meant, Garth was slightly unsure - and began to rhyme off Italian names he didn't recognize, he was going to stop her right there and correct her. However, he could tell that she had another question coming up - don't ask how, he just knew - Garth decided to remain silent and wait until she was finished. Her question would have left him equally stumped, had she not added the part where she raised her body on her toes and graze his lips with her own. Garth was left absolutely speechless by the entire ordeal, unable to really process what was going on; to hell to his feelings, he just needed to grasp what was going on. Another question fired his way, thankfully cutting through his murky, confused thoughts to certainty, and Garth decided that now would be the best time to get all of her questions and statements out of the way.

"Matthew is scheduled to be here shortly. If you recall, he is the one that keeps watch over my villa for me." Garth was certain that Angel already knew who Matthew was, but added the clarification just in case if his memory on the subject was foggy. He then turned his head to face his little huntress squarely, his features hard to read; but that was pretty predictable for a man that wore such a face for more than a millennial. "My little huntress, you may call me what you like: however, Garth was whom found you, whom turned you and has cared for you ever since. Hathus is another man, whose heart belongs to another." He gave a pause, before his left hand stroked her face and continued. "Versace, Gucci, Diamonte, all of those names hold no meaning to me. From my perspective, this KMart has excellent taste. But then again..." He paused, and a tone of smugness and playful banter snuck into his speech without him noticing. "I'm fairly certain that regardless of your dress, you will look like a princess."

(OCC I thought it was short, but in that adorable sense xD)

Angel nodded as he corrected her on what he preferred to be called. She smiled gently and bowed her head some before glancing to see a black car pulling up. "Ah...yes. Matthew." She gave a light smirk as she fondly remembered the young man. He tasted delicious and getting involved with her was something that he had learned to regret. they never saw each other much but when they did, she would always snag him for a bite. even now she could smell the worry oozing out of his pores as he approached them with a bow of his own, quickly gathering up the few pieces of luggage while she resumed conversation. "Fair enough - I think I could get used to having my ego stroked." She gave a light laugh before noticing a buzzing on her leg. She lifted her dress only a little to find her iPhone strapped to her thigh and lit up. Pulling it out, she tapped the screen and launched into conversation. "Nadia! Bonjour, comment allez-vous? Oh. Je vois. oui, Garth et moi sommes dans la ville. Nous venons tout juste arrivés à Paris et serons bientôt sur la route de ... Quoi?! Bien sûr, petit. Ne bougez pas et ne vous découragez pas!" She ended the call and quickly reholstered her phone before looking to Garth with pleading blue eyes. "Nadia - E 'un mio amico. Lei è giovane, appena passato il suo anno centesima. Il suo capo Coven e protettore sono morti. Solo quattro esecutori, tre procacciatori, sei animali domestici, e cinque soldati rimangono. Ci sono cacciatori. Sono nel bosco, a cinque miglia al di fuori di Parigi. Ovest. Per favore ... Dobbiamo aiutarli!" She spoke under her breath so that human ears would not eavesdrop, but knew her Maker would hear her as clearly as if she had shouted.

Garth gave her a quizzical look at her light smirk at the mentioning of his butler; he knew that she had a habit of unnerving the man (not to mention having a little snack as well) Garth never thought that she found fun in creating fear within him. Now, Garth wasn't really one to talk, since he had done the same for years with other mortals, but he enjoyed Matthew's company - Garth didn't want to know how Matthew would feel if Garth told him they were beginning to become a little more involved. Garth found it odd that he actually cared for the well being of his mortal butler, but he shrugged it off - the man was good, his services were excellent and his charm was top notch. You didn't find many like him anymore.

Saying nothing but nodding to him, Garth let Angel laugh before she reached down and grabbed a buzzing device: her cellular phone. She began a to spill out in French, with Garth standing in the background silent in slight curiosity, but more so towards confusion. Was it really necessary for him to be doting over her so much, when she had been there with him this entire time? If he complimented her now, what did that mean about her before? Did she ever think like that? Garth violently shook those feelings out of his head, yet kept his body still. He was beginning to think that he sounded very childlike and annoying, and he would have none of that. Garth was trying to get back into the scene where he could actually love another again, and these fleeting thoughts of perplexed ramblings were not helping in the slightest.

Breaking him out of his focused stupor was her voice raising in alarm, and her phone being closed and put away rapidly. His eyes were instantly full of concern and protection as he scanned the nearby area for danger. What had she heard? He turned back to her as she spoke rapidly about a friend named Nadia - Garth recalled the name, but did not recall many connections or meetings with the woman. Angel's hushed tone was easily heard by Garth as she quickly explained that her young friend was in danger; hunters in the woods, yet their protector and leader were dead.

While Garth isn't proud of it, his first thought was: Angel's friend has a very shitty protector. Indeed, that was how he saw it. If the protector could not protect his or her people, what good were they? He did chastise himself though, as he didn't know all of the details. His head bowed down slightly, his eyes closing. They could make it there in decent time regardless of their transportation, but it was the entire situation that had him slightly uneasy. There would be many hunters, and he may not be able to protect Angel the entire time. Not to mention he had been looking forward to spending time with Angel in his villa, trying to figure out what was going on with his own emotions. But she was asking, and he was giving.

Garth turned to Matthew and spoke."Prenez-nous à l'ouest." After a little bit, he murmured quickly into the young man's ear. "Prenez nos bagages à la villa. Attendre mon appel, et apporter des vêtements de rechange si vous le pouvez." There were other things Garth wanted to say, but he did not need to; over the brief time that he knew him, Matthew had become highly adept at reading his employer's thoughts as if they were his own. A slight bow from Matthew, and Garth opened the door for Angel and got into it himself before they sped off and Garth began to arm himself. The ride was silent, except for the the odd clink that his hatchet would make as it hit another metal object.

With Matthew's exceptional knowledge of the street, they made it to the west end of Paris in no time before he pulled over to the side and Garth got out. As soon as Angel did as well, Matthew sped off, leaving Garth and Angel on the side of the road. Barely a moment passed before Garth spoke. "Direct me, and we shall save your friend." He gave her a reassuring nod, feeling that saying anything else would cheapen his words before her.
