"If you try to reach inside of your heart
you can find forgiveness, or at least the start
And from that place where you can forgive
is where Hope, and Love, also thrive and live

And with each step that you try to take
and with that chance that your heart might break
Comes so much happiness, and so much strength
which Alone can carry you a fantastic length

For hate and anger will not get you there
and though you say that you just don't care
You can EASILY avoid the pain on which hate feeds
. . . the kind of hurt that No one needs

Just make the move, take that first stride
let go of the thing known as "Foolish Pride"
Maybe then you can start to repair the past
into something strong, that will mend, and last!"

The Story:

A few days earlier...
You arrive on the nameless island around noon the day after you received your letter. The flight was excellent, you slept good, and now you stand looking up at the mansion before you. It sits on a rocky cliff, lofty towers disappearing into the clouds above. Three sides of the cliff of Geraldine Manor drop down into a dangerous-looking ocean dotted with razor-sharp rocks, the fourth side is home to the longest driveway you've ever seen that wraps all the way down the cliff and ends at a huge landing strip/boat dock/helipad nestled on the beach. The driver has long since pulled away and you stand, gaping at the monumental sight before you, with your suitcase at your side. Realizing, you're too stunned to go anywhere without help, the butler of the mansion rolls his eyes and shuffles out across the green lawn towards you, trying to avoid bumping into various tropical plants and beautiful bird bath and water fountain sculptures. "Welcome to Geraldine Manor." The clean, short, and plump man says to you in a voice that sounds stuffed with a cold and owns an obvious accent, though you can't put a finger on where it's from. "I'm afraid you've arrived quite early and sometime before our host. Shall I show you to your room where you can unpack?" The question brings you back to reality and you nod. The man then proceeds to do what any good butler does and takes your coat before leading you into the house and up to your room. Your room is stunning and the view is one facing the ocean on the other side of the cliff. Quickly, you unpack and once you are settled in, the butler, Mr. Kentsworth, takes you down to the parlor to sit with the other residents of the household for a while before returning to your room for bed. As you approach the room something changes, you can feel it in the way the hairs on the back of your neck rise to attention...
And then Mr. Kentworth pushes open the wooden double doors and you see them. The other residents. There are eleven in all in the room and only some of them talk, sitting in an uneasy whisper. All eyes turn to you as you enter and you realize that most of these faces are unfamiliar to you... Though some are. Particularly one. All of these people you have seen around school or your little hometown, but that one person... What are they doing here? How could someone have brought them here at the same time as you? Was this a joke? And then there was another who looked at you with the same questions you are thinking. It could be the same person, or maybe someone entirely different, but the fact is that you have hurt someone badly in this room and someone has hurt you. Anger swells up inside you, but you sit calmly, trying not to let these people ruin your trip. And then the butler speaks. "As I have said, you all have arrived strangely early... Several days before our host in fact. Please enjoy the manor until our host shows up." From the corner of the room you see an amused smile play wickedly across the face of the only figure in the room you don't remember seeing at home. The face is one you've definitely seen before, but you can't put a name to it...

The Twist:

So much has changed since the day of your first arrival at the mansion. The first two days were made up of trying to stay away from those faces that shocked you that first night. They consisted of absolute bliss for the place truly was paradise. Anything a person wanted was theirs. If only you could have those days back now. On the third night you hear them, the voices. they come from the hallway and you can tell by the way they echo that they're the voices of conflict. Curiosity causes you to slip silently from your bed and peak your head out the door of you bedroom to see who is engaged in the argument. You are a little surprised to find that the two arguing are one whose face you cannot see, and the face of the one that held a wicked, somehow familiar smile that first night. The two of these people shout and scream, and as the argument races on, their voices raise higher and the faceless figure advances on the somewhat familiar one, pushing the two back slowly towards where you watch from, so in fear of being caught, you duck your head back inside and slip back into bed. You cannot sleep though until the argument is cut off suddenly by a muffled noise that you don't register as a scream until the next morning. It is on the fourth morning that everything changes. The body of the faceless figure from the argument the night before is found in the hallway, hanging from the ceiling, a rope around the neck and a gag in the mouth. At the feet of the lifeless body is a stool... The figure was only a couple inches from touching the stool. What a cruel thing. If they had only been able to stretch a little further... You can imagine the kicking and the writhing to reach that little four-legged bit of safety placed tauntingly at the figures feet. On the stool lies a letter.
The second letter:
Dearest readers,

I apologize for not arriving on time and for leaving you in the dark as to who is hosting your lovely vacation. Are you having a good time? I sure hope you're doing better then the unfortunate one above. Anyway, I'm sure you have noticed by now that I have selected my visitors carefully, for you probably know every face in the house, minus the staff of course. A couple stand out to you hm? You have been hurt badly in the past by one of these people yes? So badly, forgiveness never even crosses your mind. How sad that such a beautiful love be replaced by ugly hate. So here's the game my friends: The house is now locked. There is no escaping it for all the windows (if you haven't noticed) are barred and made with shatter-proof glass. You may not leave the house and even if you managed (which you wont) the helipad is clear of copters, the landing strip is empty of planes, the boat dock is vacant of ships, and even the driveway has no car. My house staff cannot fly, navigate, or map so there is no use in trying to force them to help you escape either. Are we clear that there is no escaping? Good. Now as I mentioned, you are locked in this house with a group of twel-er.. silly me, Eleven people including yourself. You loved one of these people once and they betrayed you badly. Could you love them again? You probably immediately answered no right? Well you see, I am doing a sort of experiment. I am testing levels of betrayal vs forgiveness. If you can learn to forgive then you have a chance at survival as well as love. Oh happy day. But if not, as you see above, the house is rigged with traps that are set to go off when they hear or monitor any form of conflict. Not all of these traps are as fatal or brutal as the one I have displayed for you, but you never know which you will set. From here on out you are on your own. It is your choice. Forgive and make it out alive, ignore my request and starve as your food supply dwindles, or argue and set the traps. I will return to you as soon as the only people left are those who have chosen to forgive. I am always watching. Please participate in my experiment, it's your own life we're talking about. Oh! and do enjoy the manor, it was built specifically for your entertainment.

Sincerely,
Your host; Owner of Geraldine Manor

Robert's heart pounded as he finished packing his bags. He just wanted to leave now. It didn't occur to him that he had no way of getting off the island, unless the seaplane was still at the dock. He could fly that. He almost had a private pilot license, he could use that plane to get out of here if he needed too. After all its not as if he could sail the boat. Shoving his last t-shirt into the bag he zipped it up and slung it over both shoulders. He needed to leave as quietly as possible without anyone seeing him go. "That shouldn't be to hard in a house of this size" he thought. Walking towards the door he realized something. Frantically patting down his jeans he scampered at his pockets. "Where's my phone?" It was nowhere to be found. Tossing things over he searched and searched but to no avail. He slouched onto the bed and sat in silence.

Suddenly it hit him. He knew where he had left it. In the T.V room on on of the cabinets in the corner of the room. "Great now I have to make a detour on the way." Slowly he got up and pulled the door towards him. He looked down the corridor to see if everyone was still there but the corner was blocking his view. He took the opportunity to walk away from where the incident happened and straight towards the T.V room. He would be in and out in no time. He was already visualising exactly where he left it. Smiling he turned the corner to the T.V room and almost stumbled over someone. "N...N...Noelle?"

Romegio Dante

While walking the halls of the mansion Romegio began twirling his butterfly knife and thinking. Who in their right mind would do something like this? Who would bring six teenage couples into an island and lock them into a mansion, only to try and get those couples to forgive each other? Now if that was it I would've understood their reasoning at least, but then they have to threaten us into forgiving each other by punishment of death. What can this person possibly gain from teenage couples forgiving each other or their deaths? Money could play a part I guess, most of the kids here have rich families. But if it was just for money then they wouldn't want us to forgive each other, they would just use of for ransom. Is it just a game for their own pleasure? The entertainment from watching some teenagers trying to make amends for past mistakes, or watch them fail. If it was just that I guess they could just watch "Gossip Girl" or something else. No... There has to be more to it then just that, they have to have a reason for this, even if it is an insane one... There must be a reason.

Lost in thought Romegio found himself lost within the mansion. He looked around his surroundings and found that he was in the hallway connected to the T.V/Entertainment room. Well... I guess a little bit of television could settle my mind and put things into perspective... and more often then not there is usually someone in there, he thought. Romegio then started walking down the hallway towards the T.V/Entertainment room. While walking he noticed several cameras, he thought, There must be a security room of some sort within this building, the mansion owner most likely is watching those tapes, or at least will... Maybe I should search the mansion for such a room. The mansion owner must have the ability to access the footage at the very least, so if we find that security room we might be able to find a connection to whom our antagonist is... or better yet, who they are.

In front of the T.V/Entertainment room Romegio could hear the voice of someone within the room. Not knowing whether or not it was the television or someone in the room, he opened the door and peered inside. While looking inside Romegio noticed that there were two people in the room, a girl and a boy. During his stay at the mansion Romegio had not socialized with the other guests so he didn't know most of them personally, but he did hear about them at school. Romegio remembered that the girl had recently been in a car crash, a friend of hers died because of the crash. He remembered this because Romegio shared a room with her in hospital, after her car crash and after him being hospitalized by Jim. Noelle, if I remembered her name correctly. She's pretty chillin, kinda like a girl version of me. He didn't know much about the guy though, he just assumed that he was the partner or ex-partner of Noelle.

After a while Romegio entered the room deciding it would be best to make sure that those two didn't start arguing. Once in the room he put his butterfly knife in his pocket as he walked towards Noelle and the other guy. When he was visible to both of them Romegio started to talk by saying, "Well... judging by the looks on your faces I guess you already know about the dead body that was hanging in the hallway... Your face especially Noelle." He then took a seat next to Noelle. "Hey hospital buddy, didn't think I would see you in here... Wonder why you have to play this game of death. Guess I'm not the only one between us who had relationship problems before coming here, aye?" Romegio then looked up towards the other guy, saying. "Name is Romegio in case you were wondering... Did you both read the letter that was underneath the body in the hallway? If you didn't we can discuss the basic gist of it..." Romegio then noticed that the guy was holding a bag, which he assumed had the guys personal belongings in them. "Guess you didn't get the memo... There's no leaving this island, not yet anyway. In fact there is no leaving this mansion, so if you were planning any escape just now I would warn you to... delay it..."

Trinity Turlington

The sound of muffled footsteps awoke Trinity, as more people entered the room she was in. She sighed and sat upright, as it appeared nobody had saw here. There where two guys and a girl in the room and she just sighed once more, kicking her feet up on the coffee table in front of her and flipped the channel from MTV to CMT. Her eyes flickered around and she ran a hand through her rustled hair. Why did even taking the shortest nap have to mess up her hair? But frankly, she didn't care. Trinity yawned and blinked, watching the channels flip by as she clicked the small button on the remote control.

Okay, I swear boredom is going to eat me alive. she thought and stood up, stretching before walking to the book shelf in the back of the room. She walked by as if the small group of people weren't there. She didn't feel like starting up a conversation, or interrupting theirs if they were even talking. She sighed and ran her hand across the spine of the books, eying each one before slipping ever so quietly the book, Dead Beautiful from the antique looking shelf. Then, she made her way to a small recliner in the corner and flipped the book open to the starting pages.

Kiler Thurlow

His light eyes still focused on the view outside of the window. Everything about the landscape was mesmerizing in a different way. The moving water, the rolling clouds, the sunlight flickering to a dim light, then bright again whenever the clouds moved in front of it. The sky was changing shades, from a warm orange-yellow glow in the center, the beginning of a day, to the usual vibrant blue. He felt as if he could just fall asleep here, sitting down in the chair, leaning over the table. It sure wasn't comfortable, but he was tired and exhausted. About everything that had happened, and the situation he was in at the moment.

Kiler wanted to get out. Out of everything here, everyone. All of the people were under such a large amount of stress, there was a chance that someone would snap under the pressure. The image of the dead body re-appeared in his mind. Someone had done that, it wasn't an accident. What surprised him even more was the fact that whoever did this must have been planning this all out. It couldn't be a crazy coincidence. These..."traps" were set up, so that meant that whoever the owner of this place was had done their research. Found all of them, knew that they all needed to forgive certain people, and made this sadistic game to enjoy themselves. He didn't want to play the game. He wanted to go find some secluded world, and not talk to anyone. Most people here probably wanted to go home. Home wasn't an option. There, he would still be stressed and worried about everything, just as much as he was here. There seemed to be...almost no option for him.

Kiler sat up straight, letting his arms slide off the table. He knew that eventually he would have to go speak with her. But he only wanted to avoid it. He could put it off as much as he wanted to, but if he did for too long, then who knew what the consequences could be? Running out of food, other people's crazy strategies to this game. If they got desperate enough, then there was no way of guessing what people would do to get off of this place. There could be more than one dead body rotting here soon.

But then again, maybe he was thinking too much. Kiler sighed quietly, already feeling the overwhelming sense of confusion and worry. What if every person here could eventually team up, go against this Mansion Owner? Perhaps the owner was here, or somewhere near here. After all they had to watch the place, check if arguments were breaking out. There was probably cameras. He raised his head, finding himself looking up at the corner of the tall ceiling, searching for a camera somewhere following every one of his movements. If that letter had somehow appeared there...then the owner had to be here to put it there. They couldn't have guessed which one of the people here would be killed first. Maybe the owner was among them.

Kiler pushed all of the thoughts out of his mind, getting off the chair and standing quietly in front of the window, his hands in the pocket of his light blue jeans. There were worn spots on the knees, ripped bottoms, tears in the legs. He really had no other nicer clothing, though he was wearing his best white t-shirt at the time. He shook his head quickly, ridding of a strand of his sand-coloured hair from his vision. He turned around, walking around the table near him, down the hallway. He knew that wandering around was a bad idea, Emery could be anywhere. But if he did see her, then he would face her. If not, at the time, he would continue his thinking elsewhere.

Emery Aynne Jameson

Emery smiled softly to herself. She was completely content in her own little world right now. This was exactly what she needed, a time just to let herself forget for a while. Let all the thoughts and worries that kept her up at night just disappear. She made a sort of wing-like motion with her arms, lifting herself higher for a brief second. She used that second to take in a deep breath before plunging herself under the water.

She held her breath and let herself sink down far below the surface. She allowed herself to linger down toward the bottom, completely surrounded by the cool water. It was almost as if she thought if she just stayed down there long enough the water would wash all the bad things from her mind.Soon she had to give in, paddling back up to the top. Her head broke the surface and sucked in a much needed breath. She swam around the length of the pool another few times before she decided she couldn’t stay in here forever and would have to face reality soon. She reluctantly lifted herself from the water and on to the side of the pool deck.

Emery wrung out her hair near the edge of the pool and looked around. She finally spotted a set of shelving with stacks of fluffy white towels place on them. She strode over and grabbed one of them off the shelf. She then proceeded to dry herself off as best she could. She tugged her jeans back on and then pulled her t-shirt back over her head. The last thing she did was toss the wet towel into a large bin beside the shelves and then pick her shoes up and head toward the elevator.

Once in the elevator, Emery pushed the button that would take her back upstairs. While it rode upward toward the main floor, she slipped her shoes back onto her feet and tried to fix her hair as best as she could in the semi-reflective metal on the walls of the elevator. When the elevator dinged and the doors opened Emery took a deep breath before stepping out of the elevator and into the hallway. There were people up and wandering around now and this worried her. She didn’t want to have to face Kiler yet, and she especially didn’t want to seem him when she had wet hair and her clothes would soon be developing water spots on it from her still being wet from her impromptu swim. The thought of being seen and having to face him scared her, she didn't trust herself to be able to handle facing him just yet and just hoped she could safely make it back to her room.

Romegio Dante

While sitting down next to Noelle Romegio noticed that there was someone else in the room. He deduced this because the television was shifting from channel to channel and it seemed as though neither Noelle or the guy were doing anything to do this. Romegio then looked around the room to see who was doing this. Before he could find who it was it happened that they had found him. She walked towards our group and looked at all of us as she preceded towards a bookshelf, where she acquired a book. The girl then had sat in a recliner in the corner of the room.

Romegio then got up while saying, "I'll go over and talk to her, see if she knows the 411..." He then turned towards the guy and said, "I think you should put those back in your room, they won't do you any good in a suitcase... See you later." Romegio then started to walk towards the girl who was now reading from the book she had acquired from the bookcase. Once he had reached the girl Romegio sat in a recliner next to the girl. He then looked at the book and noticed that it was "Dead Beautiful". Romegio then looked to her and said, "Interesting book you are reading there... Although it's not our exact situation it does have some similarities, well actually there are little similarities but I just needed a way to start a conversation... No I haven't read the book but my girlfriend use to talk about it a lot before... I mean my ex-girlfriend, well actually I don't know what we are anymore and this situation doesn't really help."

He then looked towards the television, not interested by what was on he looked towards the girl and said, "Bad habit of mine, name is Romegio and under these circumstances I guess it is nice to meet you. I'm just guessing you know what is going on but in case you don't I will be able to fill you in on what I know... Hope we don't find more dead bodies around the mansion because then we would be more like that book you've got there... And I don't know if this is a bad omen or not but my last name is Dante." Jokingly he then said, "Mind changing the channel?"

Trinity Turlington

A voice sounded in front of her and she pulled her book down, and looked up at the guy who had began to talk to her. trinity blinked and smiled in a greeting. "Bad habit of mine, name is Romegio and under these circumstances I guess it is nice to meet you. I'm just guessing you know what is going on but in case you don't I will be able to fill you in on what I know... Hope we don't find more dead bodies around the mansion because then we would be more like that book you've got there... And I don't know if this is a bad omen or not but my last name is Dante." At this Trinity chuckled lightly.

"Well, hi. The names Trinity." she introduced herself with small bob of her head. Not wanting to be rude, she dog eared the page and set the book down. At his comment about his name, Trinity lightly laughed. "Well, what a coinky-dink." she said. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and listened. "Yeah... dead bodies aren't exactly my image of a vacation..." she replied. Her eyes flicked to the TV which now played more music videos. "You can change it." she told him. A small thought occurred to Trinity. She has seen this guy around before. More of around town. but, she may have been seeing things because she just moved. Who knew.

"So... is it just me or is this place kinda creepy?" she asked slowly, blinking her cool blue eyes and looked up, shifting from her lazy slouched for to sitting straight with her legs Indian-Style, criss crossed. The whole creepy mansion idea was a bit to big for her, since she was used to a small one story house or apartment. A thought lingered in Trinity's mind when he mentioned girlfriend. Did that mean other people's ex's were here too? Good, that meant she wasn't a loner. SHe wasn't the only one trying to avoid a certain person. She let her hand float back towards her neck but quickly fall before it reached the small key.

I believe this has died and is in some major need of artificial CPR. Maybe with a lot of people getting breaks soon we can get this up and running again. :)

Re: [OOC] Forgive & Forget

Sorry that I haven't posted for a bit... was waiting for more posts and then I had exams the past two days... and now it's Veterans Day so I think I will be able to get one in by today... Scratch that I "will" have one post done by today.

Something Random: Just noticed the Lion King pic... Nice (Kinda miss the Winnie the Pooh one though xD)

Re: [OOC] Forgive & Forget

Looks like mirror took out Noelle without telling me... Hmm. Well Synicate's partner is pretty much a no-show so if you guys want to partner up that'd be fine. Just pick one of your two stories between you two. You wont have to re-make your character sheets or anything.

Re: [OOC] Forgive & Forget

ahh darn I just realised I have no partner :/

Re: [OOC] Forgive & Forget

Haha it's fine (; Hm, I wonder when the person who plays Trinity's ex will be on...
