Darren Calcorn's Story

(Tagged everyone as sort of an announcement. One post everyone. We don't want to start just yet, lets give people some chance)

Alex Reed:

Alex felt something wake him up, but he wasn't sure what. Then he remembered. It was his turn.

Alex crawled out of bed, in just a shirt and pajama pants, looking at his wrist. There was a watch alarm set to vibrate, to wake him up silently. They also had this thing, where each member of the family would take a turn to help Jake, the Werewolf of the group. After all, werewolves get a little...low on self control during a full moon.

Alex checked the time. 5 AM. Jake should not be a werewolf by now...not sure if he will be awake or asleep though...

Alex picked up a sweatshirt, some sweat pants, and a pair of sneakers left by the front door (Alex had this issue with touching peoples underwear. And by that, he simply just didn't want to). He took out his phone, and accessing the tracker data. Alex was a bit ticked with the results, because it was telling him Jake was 3/4ths of a mile into the forest. "I swear, if this thing is giving me bad data again..."

Alex got his bag, putting it down in the middle of the air while he got some food from the fridge, his stick, his watch, and some other things. He then made his way towards where the tracker data was telling him Jake was, and when he started to get close, he began calling out his name. "JAKE!!! COME ON, I DON'T WANT TO BE OUT HERE ALL MORNING!"

Darren Calcorn:

Darren came down, looking around, and noticing Alex's shoes were not by the door and the fridge was open. He shut it. "Well, at least he remembered to get Jake".

He then went to start getting the coffee ready, and got ready to make breakfast on short notice. He also went out to get the Newspaper.

Jake Calcorn
Jake couldn't remember much from last night, all he remembers was that he was feeling pain then he blacked out. Thank god it was the last night of shifting.
He had a rough idea where he was, but he forgot where his clothes were. So he was sorta walking around the forest naked.
Deciding it would be better to go find his collector of this morning, from what he could remember it was Alex.
Suddenly a sound caught his ears, "JAKE!!! COME ON, I DON'T WANT TO BE OUT HERE ALL MORNING!" Alex shouted. He wasn't far from him so he could run there in no time. And since he was a werewolf he would get there without stopping.
Pushing hard of against the ground he began to run, dodging tree's, jumping over logs the normal sort in the woods.
Within minutes he was stood behind a tree hiding himself, stood in front of him by a couple of feet was Alex.
"Do you have my clothes?" He questioned as he hid himself behind the tree.

Lexi Gaia
Lexi had been woken up by her grandmother at early hours of the morning, safe to say she was not impressed. Since the Calcorns had been family friends with the Gaia witches for years, her family had a duty to protect them. And like the past two nights she had to ensure that Jake had not left the barriers of the forest, and holding them up for most of the morning was not an easy task.
When Jake had finally completed his shift he had passed out, which allowed her to drop the barrier.
Sighing she turned to her grandmother, "I'm going to get changed, then head out. I may be home this evening but don't know yet" She spoke softly. She then made her way to her room.
She decided she had better change quickly. She had decided to wear a black off shoulder jumper with white stars on, a pair of denim shorts and her usual black converses. She left her hair down in it's usual straight state.
Pulling on a couple of charm bracelets she released a sigh.
A casting circle suddenly appeared beneath her, her hair began to fly around, "Atlaidiet pilnvaras laika un telpas, ņem mani uz manu izvēlētā vietā!" She muttered, getting louder towards the end. Once she had finsihed casting her spell she dissapeared from the room she was once in.

She suddenly appeared in the Calcorns kitchen, to her surprise most of them were up.
"I'm not hungry, so you don't have to make any for me, though I do think Lexi is coming over, so she could take my spot." She head Zane tell Darren. Smiling to herself as she sat down at the table
"If there's food going i'll take it" She spoke with a smile. Turning to Zane she looked at him with a frown, his aura seemed to be off. "Your over thinking as usual" she told him seriously.
She watched as Kaile began to mess around with the salt and pepper. She then noticed Cedar was in the room as well.
"Morning all, sleep well?" She asked curiously.

(Apparently my brain cant count properly, because before it thought not everyone posted, but it appears they did. Anyways, we have waited long enough!)

Alex Reed:

Alex had quickly taken out Jake's clothes when he spotted Jake. He tossed them to him. "Well, good morning to you too" he noted, tossing them towards Jake. "C'mon, its going to rain soon, and I don't want to walk him in the mud".

He felt like they might be being watched, but Jake didn't indicate he smelled anyone else, so he figured that was wrong. "Have a fun night?" Alex jested, while he waited for Jake to get dressed. He then heard a growl. "Very funny Ja..." he started, except then he realized the growl came from behind him. He turned around, and saw a giant bear. Like, it was the biggest bear he had ever seen ever in a bagillion years.

Alex used his magic, and the tree roots morphed and twisted around the bear to keep him from attacking them. "Bad bear. Stay right there".

He then looked back at Jake. "You ready to go back?"

Darren Calcorn:

"Fine, yes, we can have pancakes" he said with a chuckle, smiling as he started to read the newspaper. "Oh, and Kaile, remember to tell your brother not to leave the fridge open please".

He then adressed Lexi. "Hey, good to see you too. Now, everyone needs to get ready for school soon. Oh, and Zane, please don't fill your brother's backpack with anything this time".

"Good morning Cedar" he also added, starting to make bacon as well as Pancakes. The smell of bacon would surely help get everyone awake.

He then took another look at the newspaper. "Woah, whats this? Some teachers got fired? Well, I hope they have enough substitutes to handle it..."

Unknown Stranger:

He watched the two boys through the scope, using The Filter. Next to him, he had a Soundwave Nullifier, to prevent anyone from hearing anything he or his partners said. There were 5 heavily armed men on that hill. "Tell command The Filter works. I have one werewolf, and one wizard in my sights".

Another man walked up next to him, loading a pistol loaded with bullets laced with Hunter Blood. "What is the plan?"

"We hit them at school, when they don't expect it, during lunch. They need to blend in, so they will almost certainly go to school. I sent their pictures to you via Scope Cam. Do we have identities on them?"

"Jake Calcorn, and Alex Reed. Both adopted by the Calcorn family. Alex Reed has a twin sister, Kaile Reed. We can assume she is a witch I think".

"Three supernaturals under the same roof? We should use additional caution".

"Agreed. But the Calcorn family adopted others as well. Its possible others may be supernatural".

"You really think these humans adopted supernatural children? We already checked them out with the scope yesterday"

"Maybe they are just unaware of the monsters and potential killers they live with. Either way, I could use another werewolf pelt. We will strike at school, when they won't be so willing to use their powers..."

"Well, its a good thing we made an opening. Time to be substitute teachers..."

"BOO!" a loud voice from behind Kalie, one accompanied by hands grabbing at her sides, made the small brunette jump about three feet into the air. She turned around to stick her tongue out at Zane, though he couldn't see it because he was at the fridge, talking about how Lexi could take his spot at the table.

"The way you talk about Ms. Lexi I'd think you have a crush on her. Lexi and Zane, K-I-S-S-I.. Ms. Lexi!" Kalie didn't get to finish her taunting because at that exact moment the woman in question appeared in the center of the room. Kaile dropped her concentration on the salt-men and Pepper-girls and jumped off of her seat to hug Lexi. Kaile looked up to Lexi immensely, due to the fact that she was an older and much more trained witch. Once Lexi had let go of her she resumed talking, and Kaile noticed that Ceder had entered the room without Kaile noticing. Lexi bid them good morning and asked if they slept well.

"I slept just fine until Alex woke me up," Kaile grumbled as she went back to making the animated salt and pepper people while she waited for pancakes.

".....everyone needs to get ready for school soon..." the words floated over to the table just as Kaile was finishing the last pepper-woman shape. She groaned at the prospect of going to school. She couldn't use her powers there (at least, none of the powers that would be easy to notice) and she was a bright creature- learning was boring and easy to her. Mr.Calcorn continued talking though, and mentioned something that made Kaile's nose turn up in disgust. Substitutes.

"I hope it's not Ms.Blaren or Ms.Pettmont," Kaile muttered under her breath. Both of those subs made everyone do busy work the whole time and smelled like an old-folks home. Plus they always called Kaile 'Kelly' and no matter how many times Kaile corrected them they still got it wrong.

Jake Calcorn
Jake grabbed the clothes as quickly as he could when Alex threw them to him, once he grabbed hold of them he immediately put them on.
He head Alex moaning about it going to rain soon, this caused him to roll his eyes. "We will be home quick, were not that far from the house!" He shouted from behind the tree whilst putting his shoes on.
Alex asked him if he had a good night, he wasn't sure if he did or didn't. He was still to young to have complete control over his wolf and wasn't aware if he ever was.
He then heard a growl, at first he thought it was himself but then he made himself aware he didn't growl like that. Coming out from behind the tree he noticed the bear behind Alex.
He knew Alex had basic control over his magic so he would be able to manipulate the plants around him to hold the bear back for a bit.
"You really think calling him a bad bear is going to stop him?" He questioned from behind Alex.
Releasing a sigh as he looked up to the sky, they were going to have to go back, it was nearly time to leave for school and well he still needed a shower.
Nodding to Alex when he asked if they were ready to go back, he started to walk towards the house. Alex not far behind him.
"You coming?" He asked with a smirk on his face.

Lexi Gaia
Lexi suddenly felt a pair of small arms around her. "Morning to you too" She said with a soft smile on her face.
"Well It's not Alex's fault he's clumsy now is it?" She said with a chuckle.
She watched as Zane left the kitchen to get him Lunch She had never judged him for what he was and never will, he was her best friend out of her family and she liked that he didn't treat her any different.
When Darren mentioned about a teacher from the school being fired a scowl appeared on her face.
"He deserved worse than being fired" she spoke with venom in her words. "Who ever the substitute is, better not pick on any of us again." She muttered the last bit to herself.
Their previous teacher Mr Long, had made an effort for most of the year to single out Zane and herself, he basically tormented them.
So to get him back, she had created an Illusion of his worse nightmares, one of her specialties. Safe to say he went made after that, destroying the entire room. And well the rest is history.

Lexi began to smirk to herself about the incident. She watched as Zane began searching for his bag, "Did you leave it at school?" She questioned him.

Alex Reed:

Alex started walking back home with Jake. "We better make it home soon. And it's not my fault that bear was stupid and tried to attack us".

He couldn't help but notice a smell. "Yes I am coming. What did you run through last night? A skunk?"

However, about halfway home it started to rain. Then it quickly started to pour. Heavily. Alex started to run through the mud.

When he finally made it home, he commented on Jake's smell again. "Ewww, wet dog smell".

Darren Calcorn:

"Alex, stop making fun of your brother. Everyone, breakfast is ready! Jake, Alex, please take a shower, you both are covered in mud and we are leaving in 16 minutes. I put some clean clothes outside the bathroom with some towels for both of you, and remember to use shampoo. Zane, you left your bag in the car again. And please, no harassing the substitutes...I would like not to get a call from any school today. Good morning Lexi".

Darren got all that out as Alex blinked. "16 minutes! That isn't enough time for us both to take a shower!"

"It is if you both share. I will have breakfast ready to go for both of you...you are hungry, right Jake?"

Darren didn't know if Jake had eaten last night or not, but meanwhile he served everyone breakfast. "Also, Zane, please don't do anything right now to your brothers. We are already rushed. And Kaile, make sure your stuff is ready as well and that you are out of your PJs".

He often found the hardest thing to do in this house is get everyone to school in the morning. Cedar to Elementry, Jake, Alex, and Kaile to middle school (they were all in the same grade actually), and then Zane and Dawn (who is still listed as a WIP. I will deal with this in some way if the writer doesn't finish her) to high school, usually with Lexi.

(I wrote a massive post... and then the computer decided to wipe it! Not happy!)

Jake Calcorn
Jake was no way in hell sharing a shower with Alex so before Alex could jump in before him, he ran up the stairs and straight into the shower. Grabbing his clothes as he entered the bathroom.
He will admit he smelt awful but he was used to it, the others not so much.
Once he had showered and dressed he ran down stairs in what was five minutes. Entering the kitchen he sat across the table, infront of Zane and Lexi.
"Something does smell a bit weird, I smelt it outside earlier" He agreed with Zane.
When Zane stole a piece of Lexi's bacon, he did the same. Although he wasn't very hungry he wouldn't pass up the chance to eat bacon.
He smiled sneekily when Lexi looked at him with disgust.

Lexi Gaia
Lexi sat silently at the table whilst eating her breakfast, she watched as everyone was getting ready for school, she was pretty lucky since she only takes a few minutes to get ready.
When Jake and Zane started mentioning that they could smell and hear something outside, she deicded she would do a scan of the area around the house.
She was about to when she felt someone tap her shoulder, turning her head in the direction of the tap, she noticed nothing was there.
Turning back she noticed that some of her bacon from her plate had dissapeared. Socwling at the two boys.
Waving her hand across her plate, she smiled in delight as extra pieces of bacon appeared.
"Suck on that boys" She said with a smirk.
Anyway back to the search of the area. Placing her hands on the table, she became completely silent and still.
Her eyes began to shift purple. One inherited talents of the Gaia witches is that they are able to see aura's and ghost. Although she isn't as good as the rest of her family she shows promise.
She saw the aura's of everyone in the room, each with a different colour and shape depending on the species and mood that they were in.
But there was an aura outside that she didn't recognise.
She suddenly came back into the room with a shock, she was breathing rather heavily too.
"There's a young girl outside, and I think she's like us" She said with shock in her voice.

Alex Reed

Alex, sharing sentiments with Jake, did something a bit different. He ate his breakfast quickly. He then grabbed his clothes, stopwatch, and then filled the tub as quickly as possible, used his stopwatch to stop time momentairily, jumped into the water, used the soap, shampoo, all in one minute very quickly, resumed time, dried off, got dressed, and made it downstairs with everyone literally walking out the door, having missed the whole thing about the girl outside.

Darren looked at Alex and Jake. "I would hate to see what you plan to try and do after the hot and sweaty gym days in the shower room". He then turned back towards Cedar, and then Kaile. "Anyways, you three need to walk Cedar to school. She is basically right next door anyways, since all three schools are basically next to each other".

Alex sighed. Darren was going to be busy dealing with this new person they found. He just hoped she didn't end up in their room. While he didn't mind sharing a room with his sister (as they once had to share a room with six other kids twice with no privacy), he did hope to one day have his own room.

It was one of the things he usually ended up hating about having a twin sister. Sharing. Now, some things he didn't mind sharing. Most things really. But when they were younger, they had shared baths. They ALWAYS had to share a room. And, while luckily the Calcorns had nearly never done this excluding two or three occasions, matching clothes. He hated that the most.

Alex opened the door for the others. "Well, we better get going" he noted, grabbing an umbrella. He also had put on sneakers he knew were good against mud and water, and were decent for climbing.

Lexi Gaia
Lexi was sat there finishing her toast, when she felt a pair of hands on her shoulder. Looking up she saw Zane. Smiling she jumped down from her seat.
Since she had all ready sorted her clothes and hair out this morning she knew she wouldn't have to do it again.
Following Zane out the kitchen she waved everyone else bye.
Once exiting the back door, she made her way to the road after him. "Yea I'm ready.... It would be so much easier to teleport there though" She said with a smile on her face.

Jake Calcorn
School. His worse enemy! He hated going to school that was for sure, but he hated even more having to walk to school. Which he ended up doing everyday.
Darren told them they would have to walk Cedar to school. Releasing a sigh, he followed after her to the door. But not before grabbing another piece of bacon.
He watched silently as Zane and Jake left the house whilst he stood with Cedar. Soon Alex came over sorting himself and then opening the door for them.
"Thanks" He mumbled as he exited the house.

Lucille drove her car down the bumby valley roads.
She had been on a short business trip. Now and again Lucille went on short care courses, she believed you could always better your craft and she was extremely lucky that her husband was happy to let her do it.

She pulled her car outside the family home. It had taken a lot of work to get the house just they way they had wanted. Darren had done most of the renovation and Lucille had concentrated on the painting of the rooms. Each time they family took in a new child, Lucille always had to redecorate so the child would have the perfect room so you could say she was especially crafted in painting rooms.

She grabbed her back from the car, just in time for all the kids to clamber out of the house. She was just in time for the school run.

Alex Reed:

As everyone came out Alex shut the door. He caught up with Jake and Kaile very quickly. "Alright, so I checked the list, and one of the substitutes is for our English class. Kaile, how do you feel about a little hexing? You know, just as a good prank. Lights turn off whenever he/she moves away from the lightswitch. Shoes tiring themselves together. Oh, and the classic "replacing water with wine" for the water bottles. Plus maybe pants falling down proved the substitute isn't old".

Alex noted a hello to Lucille as they passed. Alex walked forwards as their dad helped this new person. While Alex liked them both, he and Kaile had bounced around for most of their lives, and this technically would not be the longest for another month. 14 foster homes. Shortest 3 days, longest 3 years and 5 months. He shifted his thoughts back to Hemingway teachers. "Kaile, you got any ideas for what to do with the teacher?"

Then Kaile hit him, andthe game was on. He chased after her. "Hey!"

Darren Calcorn:

"Hey, you okay?" He asked the new girl, as he helped her into his car. "Here, let me take you to the doctors".

He then spotted his wife. "Hey? I found a girl wandering around outside. I am going to take her to the doctors. You okay?"

Lucille greeted each child as they passed.
Though the kids were not overly loving with her she had missed them very much.

She kissed Darren on the cheek before he explained about finding an injured girl.
' I am fine. Why was she wandering around alone? '

She looked at the girl, now sitting in the car.
' Want me to tag along?'

Rag Doll slowly peered up at the man who stood before her. An adult. It must be their parents or whoever took care of all these Specials. Perfect. Putting on her best 'innocent and injured' look, she extended a hand up to the man's face. When she pressed her hand to his cheek she could speak easily to him in her mind. However, her voice was not confusing him, it wasn't driving him insane like it did to most people. He must be immune to her powers or something. Looking in to his eyes she said to him telepathically:

"A bear hurt me. I've been alone. I'm hungry and cold. And I'm different. I'm Special." Then she brought her hand away from his face and took her hand away from her stomach, showing him wear the claws of the bear torn into her skin. It was bloody, causing a huge smear of blood to come away on her hand. It might need stitches. The man picked her up, helping her into his car. She sat silent, playing with her rag doll which she still clutched in her hand.

What Rag Doll assumed was his wife came over and talked with him. Rag Doll watched on, wondering how she would be able to get into their heads if they seemed to be immune to Specials.

(Sorry for the delay (again), was sick. Still am technically. Also, having issues posting with Alex because Possibility has not posted yet)

Darren Calcorn:

"Sure, if you have the time. You don't have to though, you just got back" he told her, then faced the girl. "What is your name?"

As he asked, he got into the drivers seat of the car and turned the car on.

(Sorry its so short. Kinda in pain at the moment)

Lucille hopped in the front of the car alongside her husband. The little girl was pretty silent and it was rather odd how she had just shown up.
Though she didn't say it, Lucille was suspicious of the child. Once they had taken her to hospital it might be an idea not to get involved but she knew her husband well. He would want to help.

Of course Lucille wanted to help to but she had an odd feeling.
' Don't worry sweetie we will get you to safety.'

(I hate no one. Except for a few exceptions, like the Cardassians, Justin Beiber, and people in RL who I find irritating and annoying)

Alex Reed:

"To be fair, that teacher deserved it. He yelled all the time, and accused us of disrespect every time we looked at him in a way that seemed even remotely weird, and he scents to detention for being half a minute late, when it had snowed just that morning. He was a grouch".

He liked Kaile's idea. Making the chalk turn invisible was always fun too, and he hated chalkboards anyways. The sound they made annoyed his ears. "If he wears glasses, maybe we should be 'nice' and help him". Alex had this one curse prepared. It improved people's eyesight temporarily, but it made them sound high pitched as well, which was really funny when they tried to talk. He also had a curse that would set off the fire alarms, but he saved those curses for one of two things. A boring school assembly lecture, and days their lives might be threatened.

Alex had heard stories about the hunters, about people who kill their kind, and any other supernatural. Including the rumors of their origin story. The Hunters were created not out of evil and hatred, but out of bravery and fear. Somehow, they made their blood poisonous to the supernatural beings that were killing humans. Not all of them, just the bad ones. But over time, the organization widened what they considered to be bad, until they began hunting everyone supernatural. Alex always found that story sad too, because supposedly there used to be good factions of Supernaturals who helped the Hunters, and that a faction created to do good had become evil.

Kaile's punch snapped him out of his thoughts, and he ran after her. "Catch up Jake!"

Hunter:

"Unbelievable. All six of them, seven including the girl they just found. No wait, they have a friend it seems. Eight. All Supernaturals, yet not the parents. You get the details yet?"

The Hunter watched them from a great distance, to avoid detection. He had a radio all set up, as well as a rifle with The Filter. "We got a psionic, a mermaid, a Wizard, two witches, a vampire, and a werewolf. One has yet to leave the house yet, unless she left before them. No clue what she is yet".

"And names?"

"The twins are Kaile and Alex Reed. Wizard and Witch. Bounced around a lot in Foster Care, I think not including the new girl they found that they are the newest. The slightly older boy is a werewolf, Jake Calcorn, also adopted. We have Zane Calcorn, again adopted, actually, just going to point out now they are all adopted. Anyways, Zane is a vampire, and the second oldest. Then there is the younger one, Cedar. She is the mermaid. The other two we have yet to identify because they are not on record yet, or probably friends of the family. It is suspected there is a local Witch coven nearby".

"Find her identity, then get the family. Place our infiltrators in their classes. They will be less likely to fight back or be aware of our presence in school, where there are friends and witnesses".

"Understood. Just remember to keep it covert. We will handle the ones in the middle school. You go after the older ones. I have already got someone in place in Cedar's school".

The Hunter went bitter. "Just make sure the Werewolf dies. His kind is an evil greater then the others".

"Stow your personal feelings and focus on the mission. We will get them all, you have my word on that, but we do this by the books. No civilian casualties".
