Introduction

The Great War of Valite was famed with the glorious victory from vanquishing an evil ruler. The ones who freed us from the tyrannical royal family are the new Royal Family of Valite. Since then the years have been number by AGWV (After the Great War of Valite), leading us to the year 3190AGWV, our current time period. Our honorable rulers are very kind to us, unlike the cruel and merciless rulers we once had. Or at least that is what they teach in the schools to the students.

Only the current Royal Family and a select few that have been named dangerous criminals know the truth. The real story about the Great War of Valite is that a country (now long forgotten name and all) invaded the peaceful kingdom of Valite. They killed nearly two thirds of the population excluding the entire residents of the Royal Palace. They spared no one inside the palace; everyone from children to the elderly was slaughtered. The suddenness of the attack rendered the guards without any warning; leading to the downfall of an entire kingdom.

Once the entire Royal Family was eliminated the attackers started to cast control spells upon the surviving citizens of Valite. This spell left a brand on the chest of those afflicted, a signal that they were marked. Very few escaped from the spell, and some had the will to break free from it. Those that were not captured under this spell fled, forming a rebel group hidden from the eyes of the tyrannical Royal Family. Those that broke free from the spell either joined the rebel group as insiders, or tried to expose the Royal Family for what they were. Those who joined the rebels snuck rebel members into Valite, giving them a false marking to sneak them in. Those who tried to expose the Royal Family were publicly executed for ‘false’ slander and their family’s branded as traitors to the Royal Family; soon following the same fate as the one who broke free of the spell.

Other than those few no one opposed what the Royal Family did; instead they supported them for ‘freeing’ them. With the very next generation was taught with a lie, making them think their rulers were fighting for the righteous cause in the Great War of Valite. The control spell was not needed with the second generation, or any other generation. However, that doesn’t mean the spell was forgotten in the least. The Royal Family knew that they would have a need for it in one way or another. When the rebels began their retaliation they decided to capture and take control of some of the more skilled rebels; forcing them to fight for the Royal Family or abide any other order they are given.

To this day the rebels seem to escape the Royal Guard at every corner. No matter how close the guards get the rebels change location in the blink of an eye before anything can happen to them. This has been with great aid from their knowledge over the kingdom layout, clever inventions, and complex hideouts. Even though they are greatly outnumbered, they are far from outmatched. The only goal the rebels have is to regain control of the kingdom and take down the current king at any cost.

Toggle Rules

I will only accept two magic users; one for each side. Magic is greatly limited and must have drawbacks when used. (i.e. creating fire from your hands can give some minor burns) All spells must meet five requirements. 1) You may only use the elements you can see and come into contact with. 2) They must start from your body before going for a target. 3) You are limited to four of your own spells and one additional. (For the Royal Family’s mage it is the control spell; for the rebels it is allowing you, no one else, to phase through solid objects.) 4) You may not let others use any of your spells. 5) Spells that could change one of these rules are forbidden.
I do not require you to be a professional writer that can put out 20 pages of writing per post. I do require that you post at least 5 lines per post. No exceptions or excuses about it.
Positions that require confirmation through me are located in the OOC topic named ‘Open Specialty Characters’. If there is a character position not listed there then there is no need for confirmation beyond character approval.
No gunpowder is allowed for anyone. Cutting, piercing, bludgeoning, bows, and crossbows are allowed. Nothing can be enchanted. All traps are allowed if they do not require gunpowder.
Normal role play rules do apply.
Intimacy is allowed; however keep it to mild foreplay. (i.e. deep/french kissing, caressing, ect.) Keep suggestive scenes to one post and one reply; then move on. I don’t want to be reading adult content, even if you and another character are married.
Place your posts in the location your character starts in. If you go to another location place a 3 line minimum intro with the following before your post: Continued from (insert previous location here)…. This will lower confusion quite a bit rather than placing a post in one area.
All rules may be altered and new ones may be added as needed.

Ali gave him a nod.
"I'm not due back on duty for a while and I would rather not go back just yet," she said in answer to his surprised question. "A drink sounds quite good about now."
She gestured for him to lead the way, falling into step behind. This could have been deemed as an action of respect or simply that Ali's lack of experience in bars, except to removed Jayce from them, was limited.
"Jayce asked me once why the soldiers don't have a bar in a barracks," she said casually. "After all, they all spend much of their free time in them."
She paused, following him.
"I said that it was because the whole point of going to a bar was to get off base. That and I said even the Royal's couldn't afford the amount of alcohol needed."
She didn't mean this as a joke, and her tone said so, though Jayce had laughed when she'd spoken the words.
"But why do we not have such a place?" she asked. "Soldiers go to bars and cause a nuisance. Whilst it would be unpleasant to see it close to home, I cannot deny it would perhaps be less of an embarrassment if the public did not see the actions I have seen."

Timon smiled and nodded, beginning to leave the Docks as he lead Ali to the bar- or how he referred to it, pub. He chuckled at what the blonde woman said and shrugged his shoulders.

After Ali had finished with what she'd said, the Assistant Captain shrugged his shoulders and shocked his head.

"Who knows. All I can say is that I'd like them to start doing their patrols better than their drinking contests. It is a bit irritating after a while," the man said with a shake of his head and sighing deeply. As an assistant captain he had many experiences dealing with the 'I'm-only-tipsy' soldiers- and the women that wanted to keep them away from their work.

He arrived at the pub and opened the door, holding it open for Ali and motioning for her to go inside first. Manners first.

Elosie just stood there shaking, unsure what had happened. Her fear soon fades, as she hears the anguish of the princes soul. This rugs furled frame fades from view. Her heart turns, and melts as waves of sympathy washed through her. Compassion, like a mothers gentle touch, drew her to Trestons side. Suddenly this naked frame, lost in his openness, seemed quite apropos. "All things have there time, and place my child." Kneeling beside him now, she places the books down and comforts him, as they huddle.

Treston, broken, empty, is unable to find solace. His spirit lost its wings, having drug his mind, and body into dantes inferno. Twisted thoughts of vengance, anger, or contempt, devoid in existance, all meaningless human frailties to him now. He does not know it, but this for him is as close to rebirth, as one can get.

She starts to feel the ache growing in her legs and back. While still sympathic, sometimes discipline is also needed for a persons growth. Trying to rise and stand, she moans as she hits that pivital juncture. "ooooooooooooooaahhahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Knees and back slightly bent, she begins working out the kinks. Looking down at him she raises her hand and gives Treston a firm slap on the back of the head. "This is no way for one such as yourself to act!" sternly stated.

Trestons eyes grew large, as his jaw dropped open. His face plumed a deep shade of red.
"I" ... "Well, I" "I never" "You, you hit me!" His angry appearance, his intense rage, his piercing glare, as he turned to her.
Elosie began to cry, she meant no disrespect, now she feels she has done it again, getting into trouble, this time surely, she will be cast out from the congregation, for her insubordination. Her lifes work, her dreams of a better life and peace, her reparation for the reigning families kindness, gone in one stupid act.
Treston however did something she did not expect, he consoled her, his face still red from his embarrassment.
Yes, he was angry, angry at himself, angry for the creul joke played upon him, mad that because of his personal pride and errogance he had lost the one true thing in his life, himself. "I'm sorry....ummm......" "What is your name?" "Elosie" she sniffled. "Well Elosie, I'm pleased to meet you." "I'm sorry I made you cry, I really didn't mean too." "I have had ... well let's just say, I've seen the error of my ways." "Now then, how may I help you Elosie?"
Elosie talked with the prince, and became very comfortable in his presence. They laughed and joked together. Treston picked up the books, and escorted his new friend to the library, approaching an intersection, he pointed to the door. He even offered her the books as a gift, but she felt too uncomfortable to take them from others that may want, or even need them at some later date.
"Thank you Treston, this has been" pausing as she smiles "an eye opening experience." giggling as she finished.
Treston was happy to have made a new friend. They hugged and quickly parted ways. As he walked down the hall he hoped she would not get lost again, and almost went back to escort her out, but kept heading to his room.
Elosie returned the books to the library shelves, and now felt as if the palace were a second home, and that she now has a brother she had always secretly wanted. On her way out she spotted 2 new books on local herbs, along with a few just for fun. Her leisurly stroll back to the Abbey was light, and peaceful as she daydreamed about the prince.

Inside his room Treston rings a bell, after not meeting a chambermaid in the hall. While he waited he gathers his clothes, and personal belongings.
Moments later assistance arrived, he stands there, watching her reaction to his body, it is not on his mind, but he's sure she thinks it is.
"I require being cleaned and groomed." yes she has heard that line before, but for once Treston means just that.
She runs off, but quickly returns, with an empty tub, waiting for others to bring the water.
"OH, if you wouldn't mind, a little something to eat." She started to run after food when she heard him say. "Please." and "Thank you." she stopped for a moment suprised. never does she remember any of the royals saying either please or thank you.
She turned to him, her face glowing as she smiled, then turned and ran after a nice snack for him.
By the time she returned, Treston was already soaking in the wash tub. She sat the tray of food down, and grabbed the sponges and lye soap.
As she scrubbed him, she didn't mind if anything happened, and she tries to encourage it.
He laughs, and gives her a wet hug. "Thank you my dear, but it's not needed." This one simple act of kindness, just made her want him more.
After he was cleaned, and dried, Treston grabbed the lye soap, placing it with his belongings.
He made her feel happy, as she brought the sliced meats and cheeses to him. "That's very nice of you." spoken in an earnest and genuine fashion.
For a moment she wasn't sure if he had more serious feelings for her, but she was glad for once to be appreciated. "You, can go I'll be fine, Thank you."
She smiled wide, and paused before she left. Treston started looking at his attire, noting how they all looked so similar, so, so, black.
Had he really blinded himself to the point he didn't even notice such an obivous thing as this?
Treston snacks on the meat and cheeses, occasionally rinsing his hands in the tub.
On his bed he seperates his clothes, money, and possessions.

Yoru woke up in the middle of the night, eyes fluttering open slightly before she found the position she was in. Cuddling close to Gregory, lips ghosting over his neck and almost on top of the white haired male.. She felt rebellious. She felt hot. Her cheeks went dark and she bit her bottom lip before slowly leaning closer and kissing Gregory.

Quickly, her brain told her to stop but the woman simply pressed a bit harder. It was horrible what the woman was doing- she knew that. But yet she couldn't help it.

The rebel stayed like that a moment longer before letting out a shaky breath and getting out of the bed quietly and carefully. She felt bad. She needed to calm down. The woman didn't care to put on shoes or clothes- save for a shirt she'd borrowed from the white haired man's drawer- and headed out. This was the time of night she chose to cool down and relax herself. She needed to get her thoughts together..

So she wandered about before finding a nice, big oak tree and plopping down under it with a sigh. Now she felt tired. Going to sleep under a tree wasn't all too bad and the pain from her wound was happening again.

She fell asleep near the forests, head leaned back against the old oak as she left the white-haired man alone. He didn't want her like how she wanted him. And she had to deal with that.

The moment after Yoru left the room Gregory's eyes popped open, knowing exactly what had happened. "I guess I will have to maker it obvious to her how I feel won't I?" Gregory said to himself half knowing what the girl would do after leaving. Gregory grabbed a warm blanket and headed out to follow his friend staying out of view the entire time.

After Yoru finally feel asleep under a tree Gregory moved in covered the both of them in the blanket. Gregory made sure to stay awake so he could easily defend the both of them, which wasn't necessary that night. In any case Gregory held Yoru in a close caress which clearly showed his affection for the rebel girl. "Yoru, you may be a troublesome girl all the time, but your my troublesome girl," Gregory was too quiet to wake Yoru but if the girl was awake already she could easily hear him without a problem.

Her eyes fluttered open to see the leaves above her along with the sun cresting the morning skylight. Yoru blinked slowly before becoming aware that something was next to her- and it wasn't a dog or the usual bunny rabbits. They seemed to be quite infatuated with her like most animals did. It was a human.

The woman turned her head slightly and saw that Gregory was next to her. Holding her close with his eyes half-way closed and his chest rising and falling ever so slightly. She wondered if this was real, if this was just her dream. Just to be sure...

She pinched herself and then looked into the sun- the light made her eyes sting. Okay, this was reality. The sudden rush of... emotions made her gape slightly at nothing in particular. Amazing.. Simply amazing. She began tearing up just in the slightest bit and cuddled the white-haired rebel with a content sigh. "So you came after me again, didn't you?" she whispered with a chuckle. Just like all the other times she would run off, Gregory would be there to check up on her and more than not, save her from trouble.

"Of course, I couldn't leave you be. After all I can't have you getting hurt again and post-pone our fun time." Gregory was clearly teasing the girl flirtatiously with his comment. With a smile the white-haired rebel gave a light kiss to the girl's lips as he closed his eyes. After the kiss he whispered into Yoru's ear, "And I am sure you would love to have some fun later on, right?" With a chuckle Gregory rested against the tree as he and Yoru cuddled under the blanket. Gregory looked up to a nest of new born Robbins and their parents feeding them one of the young ones' first meals. "Having a family would be nice don't ya think so?" Gregory's question seemed both innocent and alluding at the same time, almost as if he were asking Yoru if they should have kids or not.

Yoru laughed quietly and smiled at Gregory, a faint blush crossing her cheeks before she kissed back. And then Greg just had to make that second comment. The woman rolled her eyes and chuckled once more. "But of course," she responded quietly with a little glint in her eye and a mischievous tone to her smile. Ohohohoho~ George-dearest didn't know what he was getting himself into, did he? Following the other rebel's eye, she looked up at the nest and let her smile soften a bit. "It does... I always was good with kids, too," she hummed quietly to herself. She was quiet for a moment before giving Gregory a side-ways look. "Are you hinting at something, Greg?"

"Rather than hinting at it how about I just say it?" Gregory's question was obviously rhetorical as he didn't give a moment for a response. "Yoru, would you be my beloved wife in this chaotic world we live in?" This wasn't really something Gregory had planned to do this morning, so he didn't really have anything ready for a wedding. Even though this was common knowledge due to the civil war and all it was also known that Gregory could get everything prepared within a matter of a few days. If things worked out he could have everything ready by the next day thanks to some of his connections in various places; not just with the rebels but with the citizens of Valite as well.

"Well, that'd be good," Yoru murmured with a grin and a slight chuckle. She waited for Gregory's response with a happy little hum and smiled- ah, what was he going to say~? The tension was killing her man! The question killed her tension and instead, she went very still. Her hum stopped dead and her face went blank.

She repeated what he'd said over again in his mind. Again. And again. And again. Slowly she could feel herself reach for Gregory's face and cupped his cheeks softly before crashing his lips onto her own in a passionate display of love and affection.

It literally knocked the rebel down, so she could be on top of him.

The woman broke it after a minute or two and grinned down at him- the tears gathered in her eyes finally fell. "If that didn't answer your question, it's a yes," the green-and-blue eyed woman murmured with a slight sniffle. She shook her head and laughed a little. "Oh look at me, finally breaking down like this. I'm actually crying.." she whispered to herself with another sniffle.

Ali allowed herself to walk in before Timon. There were many a tim e when she'd told others to go first. They'd looked surprised and unsure what to do, but it was different with Timon.
Ali saw many tables that would be perfect, for she hated sitting at the bar itself, but she approached the counter to order, the bar woman giving her a nod.
"Orange juice and...." she trailed off, looking to Timon, suddenly realising she had no idea was he would drink. He was sensible, but might want ale rather than something like her own choice. She should have asked before she'd approached, but too late now, much too late.

Timon got into the pub after Ali and yawned a bit, stretching to get those little aches out of his back and shoulders. Seeing Ali approach the bar counter he went and stood next to her with a smile. When the woman trailed off on her sentence, Timon just shrugged and smiled at the bar woman. "Some water would be fine, thank you," he finished for the other soldier.

The bar woman nodded and smiled at them before going off to get them their drinks.

Out with the old, and in with the new, Treston thought. I have to do this, I have to become my own man, not just what is expected of me, and I can't do that if I stay. I also know if I go, they will just drag me back, what? What? I could. Could.
Well, I'm just.
Treston sits on his bed pondering his possibilities. Do I leave the kingdom? How would I know the struggles if I'm not here?
How do I stay and not be ordered back by my father? Can I change my looks enough, or dodge the watchful eyes on the street? I'll need a new wardrobe, new equiptment, new everything, guess I go shopping today.
Treston yawns, and begins to shake from the sudden chill he felt. Well for now I guess this will have to do, as he starts to don yet another black outfit.
He debates whether to go back to the other area, and grab his daggers, or too even keep them. No. Never know when or where they will come in to play.
Dark rings under his eyes, show it has been a long day, little sleep, still he is wired, amped by the fury, agony, and determination to make things right, as best he can.
Dressed now, Treston walks out of his room, then heads back in for money. "I can't very well." I hate when I start to say something out loud, I don't want anyone to know. After stuffing his pockets he heads back out and heads to the militia stationing area to speak to whom ever is in charge at the moment.

Gregory gently wipes a few tears from Yoru's eyes, then gives her a tight hug before getting up. "It's morning and I have a busy day now that things have turned the way they did. Wasn't really planning on ask you to marry me today, but I am glad I did." Gregory does a few quick stretches to loosen his tight muscles, whic was commonly the case for him in the morning even though he never told anyone about this. "Let's see, I need to get a ring, Yoru's jacket from the palace..." Gregory's voice trailed off as he started to think inside his head rather than aloud for all to hear. "Rest here for as long as you want, and don't worry about the blanket. I'll come back later to get it, just put it in a tree when you are ready to head out." Anyone could tell that Gregory was going to be busy today just by how he acted. It was the same as the last time when he had to get three days of work done in one day, he may not have finished every bit of it but he left himself with a few minor things for the next day. Without wasting a moment Gregory was heading into town to start up early with what he could from the stores that were open. Granted not much was open with the sun only recently peeking out from the horizon but it would be enough to keep him busy until the other stores started to open up.

Yoru nodded and watched her fiance- she secretly giggled at the new word- leave with a smile. She pulled her knees up to her chest and pondered for a long moment before slamming her fist down on the ground. She knew what she had to do. The woman got up and stretched as well before hanging the blanket up in the tree she'd been under. Making sure it was tight and secured, she actually hefted herself up and climbed onto the branch before beginning to jump to other trees.

She took in the fresh scents of the forest and let out an exhale of happiness. "Wonderful," she whispered. Fresh air was always better than city smoke and fire.

Thoughts went through her mind- about Gregory, about weddings, about wars and peace and twists and turns. Life was full of things like that. Especially surprises. She had way too many surprises sometimes but they could be pleasant. Like this morning's surprise. The woman laughed to herself just thinking about it and sighed in quiet content.

Yes, Yoru was officially Zen-ified.

As the morning sun began it's climb, the light sparkled off the dew laden ground. Birds left their roost in search for their days meal. Chirps and tweets filled the morning air, as the rooster bellowed his salute to the new day. Animals of all shapes and sizes, rose from slumbers grasp. Horses whinny and snort, grazing the young sprouts. A pack of dogs ran down a buildings wall chasing after a rabbit, barking and howling at the sport.
Doors open and close as the days routine begins anew, the vibration of the slamming door shook the house. Laden opened his eyes to see the property owner standing over, looking down at him.
Through squinted eyes, Laden mutters some undecipherable syllables, that only his dream state could possibly understand, rolls over and is back asleep.

Yoru had left the forest and went into the bazaars of town. She looked around for a while with a smile on her lips, expression warm and delighted. A few young boys tried to hit on her but she just ruffled their hair and directed them to girls their age. She wasn't much of a cougar- only a little bit but not much. Young boys were cute.

But not as cute as Gregory. Greg was sexy.

The rebel giggled at this thought and brought herself a biscuit along with a small charm for Gregory to wear. Goodness, she was getting sappy, wasn't she? Marriage and children and the future.. They'd all softened her up.

... And she kinda liked it. Maybe she'd be able to see Greg around town and wave a hello, but the chances were slim.

Treston walked up to where all the military were lounging. His normal swagger gone, though he doesn't notice. His princely stance laxed, and his body slightly sloutched, head hanging, his heart weighing heavy.
In a nearly timid toned voice. "Who is in charge right now?"
Getting no response, he taps on the shoulder of the closest guard, and repeats the question.
"Who is in charge right now?"
"Sir, you are sir." he yells as he and the others come to attention.
"No, no, as you were." "Where can I find your superior?" His voice, peaceful and sullen.
"That would be Lt. Jachobs sir. Third door on the left."
"Thank you"
Treston walked up to the door and stepped inside. The Lt. and two other officers were looking over some paperwork. Treston stepped quickly back out the door, waiting for their meeting to end, at which time he asks if the Lt. had time to talk, or would it be better if he schedules it for later.
"Now will be fine Sir."
Treston walks in and closes the door behind him. He wasn't use to showing emotion, he also didn't want to be disturbed. In a long drawn out conversation, Treston tells his story of the previous night, and lets the Lt. know just how bad he felt.
For the next 2 hours they discussed the possibilities, and ways to do a runaround the king, and accountants, so their families would have the help needed. In the end all those injured and killed would remain in on duty status, as noone outside the guards themselves would know they weren't on duty... after all it is doubtful the king would know the names of those involved.
"Thank you Lt. that greatly eased my burden.""Have a good day."
Treston, heads to the dining area for a small snack before heading to the market.

As the morning sun began filling the dimly lit hallways, Treston felt an emptiness that he had never known.
His greif now shifted from sorrow to feeling displaced, a dull throb began to swell inside, and all emotions he had bottled for his family began jumping inside his mind.
Even the little skirmishes he and his father had during the years brought both warmth, and a tear.
"I shall be king!" he whispered to himself "And I need the whole truth, not just words your told to keep you silent."
In the kitchen Treston grabbed an orange, as they were only in season for a short while, and snacked as he left the palace for the market.

"Come on ya ole drunk, get your lazy ass off my property!" he nearly screams as he grabs Laden by his shabby clothed collar, and lifts him by one hand to his feet. The muscular man had the appearance of either a farm hand or blacksmith.

Laden had been lifted and placed outside local establishments many times over the course of his drunken exploits, some times less gently then others, still he remains limp and motionless.

Infuriated, it would be clear to anyone around this was not going to be done with loving care, he tosses Laden into the closest horse trough and storms down the street."Damn!"

Unlike most people, Treston also eats the orange peel biting through to the sweet meat inside.
A trail of seed follow behind him as he makes his way to visit the garment district.
His stride shallow, and his shoulders hang low, as his eyes seldom meet those passing by.
Inside one building Treston checks clothes, nearly unaware he is still falling into the same old pattern.
The fancy black clothing he has draped over his arm calls to him, but as he looks at them he slowly remembers just why he is here.... to change. Change his look, change his life, change the course fate has set before him.
Lifting his head he begins to look around at those walking outside. Looking at the cut and color of the mens apparel. His mind thinks about how the different groups and classes of people are similiar and different. Looks at the store clerks, how their clothes, while a little fancier then most people, are not so much so as to make their patrons feel uncomfortable. An old adage clothes make the man or can reflect things about someone, without knowing anything about them.
It doesn't take Treston long to realize he needs to decide what he want to say to others. Farmer, scout, rich, poor, local, foreign, do I dress for a profession, trade, what?

The railling scrapes his hip as his back hits the water.
The loud thud of his head slamming into one of the inside walls, nearly knocks him out.
Limp, he quickily sinks to the bottom.

Alone, inside his mind, Trestons teary eyes slowily grow dim.
Noone could possibly guess just what another has to endure.
Most would say he is cold and heartless, spoiled, even evil, such is the fate of men sometimes.
Silent he stands in the suns golden light, but for him there is none.

He knew it was going to be like this, like a loose version of a life lived before, almost as if he had lived it in a previous life. It is an event he calls Undetermined Predestionation.
Deja Vu just didn't seem to fit, it is just what it is, no sense worrying as it will happen in one form or another.

I lay there at the bottom of the trough, and look up through the liquid prison.
I can hardly believe it, is that, but where's? Rubbing my eyes, I once more look up, as the shimmer casts a destorted picture like a new scene to insert it'self into the movie that is my life.

No longer will my lungs hold and I throw myself to the surface, gasping.
